Whether they are technology tools, writing tools, actual like power tools, horse tools, whatever. But the fact of the matter is even the best tool in the world, if you don't know how to use it effectively, it's not going to do you maximum good or any good at all. And I have a funny story for you. So I had slash still have this horse who is not good about the farrier and the farrier is the the person who trims their hooves. Because BTW's horses hooves have to be trimmed like every 8 to 12 weeks, in case you're not a horse person. It's like our fingernails grow and need trimmed. Their hooves need trimmed. Doesn't hurt them. Anyway. This particular mare, who shall remain nameless, has always been terrible for the horseshoer. And she really doesn't like men as well as she likes women. So she's pretty good for me. She lets me, you know, clean her feet out, handle her feet, all these things. And she was pretty good for my best friend, who is also a woman. And so, years and years ago, my best friend and I got this wild idea. We're like, well, I bet we can trim our hooves. I bet we can do it. And my friend had a set of nippers that. That are, like, kind of. They're specially designed, like, ply. Like, you know, nippers like fingernail clippers almost, but they're more shaped like pliers for trimming horse's hooves. And she had a pair of nippers, and I was like, sweet. We can do this, right? We can totally do this. So here we are, both of us, very fit, very used to riding, very good with horses, and here we are, like, holding up this horse's foot hoof, squeezing as hard as we can, both of us on these nippers, trying to trim my horse's feet. And honest to goodness, I think we got, like, one little piece of hoof cut, and we're like, oh, my gosh, we can't do this. Never mind. Abandon ship, abandon ship. And my point is, we had the tool. We even kind of sort of knew how to use it. Like, it's not rocket science on, like, how to make these, you know, little nippers work. Picture, like shears, you know, only they're rounded. It's not rocket science on how to make them work, but the art and the skill of actually using that tool in its most effective way. We didn't have that skill, and we were not, not able to get the job done. And I happily paid my horseshoer to come and trim this mare's feet. My point in that story is sometimes we can have a really great tool in our business and not really know how to use it to its maximum efficacy. And we're just wasting our time, or we think we're getting something accomplished when really we're not. And this is something that I see with ubersuggest, which, it is no secret that I love ubersuggest. I promote it. It's my favorite keyword research tool on the market. But even when somebody buys ubersuggest, there's a learning curve. Okay. And I would really love to help shorten that learning curve for you today. So today I have four things that are biting you in the butt when you don't know how to use your keyword research tool, which I recommend ubersuggest. When you don't know how to use your keyword research tool correctly. Okay? So the number one thing that's biting you in the butt is looking for the wrong size keywords, the wrong search volume keywords, and the wrong search difficulty keywords with your keyword research tool. And what I mean by that is when you go do carried keyword research, you're going to type a little term in and it's going to pop up with, okay, this is how many times it searched and this is how difficult it is to rank and search for this. When you're looking for the wrong size keywords, you are wasting your time doing keyword research and then you're wasting your time creating the content because you're not going to rank for that or you're going to rank for it and not get very many leads for it. Okay? So you got to make sure that you have the right size keywords that you're searching for and the right search difficulty within your search parameters. The number two mistake that's biting you in the butt is this. You're just wasting tons of time. Like you're bebopping around and fiddle farting around inside the tool and not actually using the things that you need to use for maximum results. Like, within most technology, there are so many little things that you can do and you can get lost down the research rabbit hole. And this is something that I see people do all the time when it comes to building businesses, when it comes to, you know, doing SEO or creating content, really anything, it is so easy to fall down the research rabbit hole and just spiral down there and not actually get anything accomplished. And one of the things that I want so badly for you and growing your business and finding the right keywords and using SEO to get more sales is I want you to know exactly what to do to find the right keywords and then go implement that in your content marketing. The number three mistake that I see is not connecting your keyword research tool to your Google Analytics. Now, this is something that's highly important because what it's going to do is it's going to give you data from your website to then use that to determine your search difficulty range. Now this is something you do inside of ubersuggest when you set up your, your business, your website, inside of ubersuggest. And I love it so, so, so much that you can do that right inside the tool. The number four mistake is it if you don't honestly evaluate your ranking potential. Now I'm back to horses. Okay? I, like, love being able to, like, see the underdog, fix the underdog, like, make this horse better, right? Or, you know, cheer for the underdog team. Like, we all love an underdog story. However, sometimes we are blind to our own abilities when it comes to what we can rank for. And I get it, because we love what we do. We think we have an amazing piece of content, and you probably do. But what you have to do when it comes to doing keyword research for your business is you have to really, honestly take a step back and say, okay, do I actually have the ability to rank for this right now? And if you don't, don't get your feelers hurt about it. Just realize, hey, I don't have the SEO street cred. I don't have the reps, I don't have the actual skill set or whatever you need to put in your language. I don't have the ability to rank for that right now. Okay, so let's find something that I can actually rank for, and then you're going to start seeing traction and actual growth and boosting your SEO street cred so that you can actually rank for more words or more difficult keywords.
