So today, let's get into it. 4 reasons why your content isn't turning into sales and what's missing. So around the beginning of the year, this year, I was just really trying to dial in my content strategy and dial in everything a little further. You know, every, I feel like, you know, business, anything in business or any, you know, high, any major endeavor, major part of your life or major goal, like you're constantly dialing it in. Like, okay, I've got this skill down, let's dial it in a little further. Okay, I've got this element down and let's dial it in a little further. And as part of, you know, the beginning of the year business growth, my internal locked in my bedroom, CEO stay at home CEO retreat. I was, I've been really trying to make sure that I'm doing more of what's working. And so me and Chatty G sat down and I gave Chatty a bunch of data from sales and content production and the amount of content that I produced and the type of content that I produced in each month throughout the past 12 months because I wanted to know for a fact if there was, if my content was producing like I thought it was. And so we analyzed and analyzed and I reanalyzed and re analyzed and looked at all the things and looked at time investment and, you know, money investment as far as, you know, who I've hired and how much work they have to do on stuff. And I can tell you without a doubt that my content produces money in my business. But I know that is not necessarily the case for every small business owner or you're, you do see some revenue from content, but it's not like you want it to be. And I'm not talking like the typical, please know, I'm not even on social media. Okay? So I'm not technically, you know, content creator in a lot of people's eyes. Like, I'm not posting on social media. This is content meant to market my business and I help other businesses do this as well. Okay, so we've got her dialed in. So the four reasons why your content isn't turning into sales and what's missing. Let's get into those reasons. Okay. Number one. Number one. Number one problem. You're talking about the wrong problem. You're talking about the wrong problem. I'm gonna say it again. You're talking about the wrong problem. Your people and what they can readily identify as a problem. And your words, they're not the samesies. You're not talking about the same thing. Okay. When we spend our content creation time talking about the wrong problem, then it's. It's like we're either talking over people's heads or we're just completely missing the mark. If you think of it like a target, you know, you're. You're maybe firing too far left or firing too far right or way over the top. And to really hit the target, you need to be talking about the same thing that your target market can readily identify. Okay? Now, a very great fix for this, that's. I want to say it's easy peasy, lemon squeezy, but it's not completely easy peasy, is to do more market research and to get your market research done with the right people. Now, I know that this is. It's easier said than done. I've done a lot of market research in my days, and there's some market research that you don't know that it's wrong until you've ridden that pony for a while. Like, one program I was in, we started off the program doing a lot of market research, which is fantastic. Right. But a lot of our market research was done with other people in the program. And at that particular time in my business, I was already pretty far along in my business journey. I was already making decent money. I already had several clients a month. And a lot of the people that I interviewed, they were what I would call more baby business owners. Nothing wrong with that. But they weren't actually ready for the services that I provide. And so they were, you know, like, way gung ho, like, yeah, that sounds great. I would love that. But when it came right down to it, they were not at a place in their business or, like, just even needing my services yet, nor were they financially able to. Okay. And so having. Talking about the wrong problem, yes, you have to do market research and a lot of it to dial that in. But you also have to be very cognizant of who you're interviewing for your market research. I'm a huge proponent of getting on the. Getting on the horn, getting on the phone, or the zoom call and actually having a conversation with people for market research when you can. But you have to be very careful not to lead them with your words because sometimes people will agree with your verbiage just because they've heard it, not necessarily because that's the words that they would use to identify their problem. Okay? So reason number one, your content isn't turning into sales is. You're talking about the wrong problem. Okay? And my number one tip to fix that today is to schedule out a market research project for yourself. Please and thank you. You may hate it, you may want to cuss me for a minute when you sit down to do it if you're an introvert, but your business will thank me later, I promise. Okay? Now the number two reason why you are not your content isn't turning into sales is you're talking to the wrong people. Now this actually goes hand in hand with point one, right? And my story about when I was in that program and interviewing the wrong people for my market research. But there's, there's a lot to be said for finding the right people. Yes. But there's even more to be said for finding the right people at the right time. Okay? So I just made, personally, I just made a, what feels like to me a rather large purchase for a new saddle. Okay? I got a new barrel horse a little over a year ago. And the saddle that I've been riding, that I was riding, I'VE literally had for 26 years. I won that saddle at a rodeo when I was 13 years old. And I've been riding that booger for 26 years. And bless it, that saddle was a huge blessing to me. Like, I'm so thankful for it. Like, I'll have to tell you all the story about that saddle another time. But I just, I just purchased this saddle and I just, I just got it like last week. And the right, the right time, the right people, right time situation really comes into play here because yes, I am absolutely a saddle makers target market, right? Like, I want a nice saddle, I want a high quality saddle, I want, blah, blah, blah, all these things. I am their target market fo show. However, a year ago, two years ago, five years ago was not the right time. Their advertising, their SEO, their content, all of the things would have not done much for their bottom dollar at that moment with me because I wasn't ready to buy. Okay? I may have been the right person, but it was the wrong time. So we need the, we need to be talking about the right problem and to the right people at the right time. Okay? Now the Third reason, I guess, wrong people, wrong time was kind of combined. So, you know, you can break that up as you will. But the third reason why your content isn't turning into sales, and this is going to sting a little bit, just know that I'm saying it with, you know, like a hug. The third reason why your content isn't turning into sales is that you're inconsistent. You're inconsistent. And I am not necessarily the queen of every day at 8am, everything goes out right. I get that I have a lot going on, as do you. But when I talk to a lot of entrepreneurs or and I ask about, you know, how their marketing's going when they're publishing, how often they're publishing when they publish. What? I get this deer in the headlights look and I look at their podcast and they haven't published anything for, you know, a year. Or I look at their blog and there's nothing new for the last six months. And I ask about their email list and they are like, well, I send something out about every six months and I'm like, you've got to be consistent. Not necessarily for the same reasons that you feel like you have to be consistent on social media, right? Like, we're not, we're not worried so much about feeding an algorithm that has a giant ego. When you're inconsistent with your content, it's not just that your ideal client forgets about you, but you're not, you're not con. You're not proving your consistency, you're not proving your faithfulness in the eyes of your client. I'm not saying you have to do everything every week forever or you're never going to succeed. That's not what I'm saying. But I am saying if you want to see kind of growth that I know most of you desire with your business, you have to be consistent with your content creation, which means you've got to be consistent brainstorming those blog ideas, you've got to be consistent creating those blogs, you've got to be consistent publishing those blogs, you've got to be consistent repurposing those blogs. And with that, in an effort to be consistent, to make consistency even a possibility, it has to be streamlined. You can't be taken no eight hours or six hours or even four hours a week to create blog content. Okay, which leads me to our last point, which is the fourth reason why your content isn't turning into sales is you don't have a system. Nothing compounds your content. Your blog content, your long form content that repurposes into email or social media if you want it to. Your content needs a system. It needs to all be tied together underneath of your business and website's SEO goals. It is all work together and create a beautiful spider web on the Internet. It needs to all work together to be easy to repeat good results again and again and again. And it needs to have a system that allows you to work that system in a way that's going to actually be a blessing to your business and not just make you want to bang your head against walls. And I'm breaking all of this down for you. I'm walking through exactly how to fix all of this Inside of Content Systems for Sales so get signed up.
