Six minutes is supported by quints. Guess what I'm doing right now? If you said recording an ad while snuggling with a giant duvet cause it's chilly this morning, then you win. I love being cozy. That's why this holiday season I'm giving family and friends the gift of cozy luxury with quince impossibly soft, crafted to last and made from premium materials like European flax linen and organic cotton. Quince bedding, especially their blankets, are the kind of gifts people will love and remember you for. Quince's quilts, comforters and even duvet inserts bring real warmth and texture. No joke. I love my quince duvet cover. When it's hard to get out of bed in the mornings, I just bring the bed with me to my desk where I work. I love being cozy when I work or watch movies or just anytime really. That's why I love the blankets and bedding I got from Quince. Give a gift they'll actually use and love with quince. I see a shadow fragmenting there's no tomorrow Door slam shut. Oh yeah, that's our new Rewind, Rewind. We're doing Rewind, rewind, rewind, rewind.
A
Welcome everyone. If you don't know us, my name is Jess.
C
Hi, it's great to meet you.
A
It's for the listeners. Who are you guys?
C
I thought we were pretending.
B
This is Dave and Chris.
A
No. Yeah, Dave and Chris who are two of the founders of the company and also they help make the shows. And I'm Jess and I. Well, I mean I'm social media and I also host Rewind and we, the three of us do rewind together where we, we rewind shows like six minutes and we've rewound other shows like Becoming Mother Nature, Discovering Dad, Fourth and inches.
B
Yeah. I'm realizing now that like this is going to be on a feed where.
A
Maybe people don't know rewind is. Yeah.
B
Oh, okay. Yeah. Now I can't.
C
So does that mean when we rewind a show?
A
Yeah, what it means when we rewind a show is we listen to clips and we talk about our favorite lines of dialogue, our favorite noises, sound design.
C
Talk about some behind the scenes stuff.
A
Exactly. And Sometimes actors, sometimes we have super fans on. So it's really a blast.
B
If you haven't listened to Rewind, it's an amazing audience. Like, if you're a Rewind fan, like, we just have the best. Like, listen, all of our shows are great.
A
We grew it this year.
B
What's that?
A
We grew it this year.
B
I know. It's getting, like. It's crazy.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We love y'.
C
All.
A
So we're recording this on December 20th. It's a very good time for us to reflect on this year and the amazing things that we have accomplished, which is a lot. Yeah. Why are you laughing? I think it's okay to be proud of the stuff we put together.
B
Yeah. That's why I put the intro together, because we just. I took a bunch of music from all the various shows we put out this year, and I didn't even get to all of them. It just was, like, something right before. Cause Jess was late. Come and kiss her Cab. No. And I was like, oh, I got a few minutes, and I just threw it together.
A
So we're good. It's so great. So I threw together some clips of the shows that we did this year, but the big ones that were really exciting were 4th and inches, discovering dad, Cyrus, the Lost Tapes, Nightingale, Halloween Six Minutes, Season four. That is so much stuff, y'. All.
C
Hidden Island.
B
Hidden Island.
A
Hidden Island. Well, that's not out until next year, so, you know, we'll see.
B
But also. Also working on really hard on shows that have yet to come out, too. There's just like, we're the busiest group of.
A
I thought you were gonna say we're the best, but we are the best.
B
We are the best. We are the best. We're up there.
A
That's true. But, yeah, I was putting together clips, and I was thinking about how much I. I really loved 4th and inches.
B
Me, too.
A
It was really something special. Like, it's. That's where we got the joke about me being left out in the rain.
B
Speaking of rewind, I was gonna say, is that your favorite moment of rewind?
A
Really do. I love it because it's hilarious, and it's an acknowledgment.
C
It's hilarious.
A
It's an acceptance. I also had a part in 4th and inches, Desiree, which was a big deal for me.
C
Sure.
A
I was a big fan of the character Pete.
B
Should we listen to a Pete clip?
A
Yeah, let's play some Pete.
B
Here's Pete.
A
I just checked the weather app, and it's 80 degrees and sunny there right now.
B
I miss sunny days.
C
Poor Pete. Stuck in Cleveland.
A
We got to work with the absolutely incredible Tony Todd, the legend, who very sadly passed away recently. And we're just so lucky that we got him to play such an amazing character as well.
C
Yeah, he was so great. Such a nice guy, too.
B
Yep. So we should listen to a bit of him, too.
A
Yeah. I haven't got that there.
C
What is this?
A
Coach.
D
Derek, seeing you shine these last few weeks has been one of the greatest gifts I ever gotten as a coach. I went to this crazy experiment thinking, hey, if our ship is sinking, at least I gave Derek and his little girl one last crack at the big time. And you made me proud.
C
Fit.
D
You'll always be like a son to me. You and Winnie. You're my family for life.
B
Say what you gotta say, Coach.
D
This job, it's all I ever wanted. But sometimes I miss just being a high school coach, you know, coaching X's and O's, shaping young minds. No politics, nobody to answer to up there in the owner's box.
A
We're so lucky.
B
Oh, my gosh.
C
Oh, amazing.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Fourth inches was such a great show. And then we moved on to Discovering dad, which was such a blast. Tonally, very different tonally.
B
Let me ask you a question. Discovering Dads. It's not that it's different from what we normally do, but I remember thinking, like, oh, this is good. Like, it's gonna be great, you know? But it was a little surprising. People loved it. Would you say, even more than we thought that they would.
A
I think y'.
B
All.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
I feel like I knew that it was something special.
B
Right.
A
Right off the bat, and I was like, yeah, people love it.
B
And I don't mean that. I mean, listen, it's great. No, just because it's really great. Yeah. And it's like a little bit more popcorn. Y. In a way, like, you know, Is that a word?
C
It was more condensed. It was like an eight episode. And so it was kind of like a movie as opposed. So what? Didn't go quite as deep as some of our shows, I think. But it was just fun.
A
It was just so fun.
B
And kind of like. And kind of like. I know when we were doing. We were talking about, like, this in that sort of B movie vein, like Indiana Jones and all that sort of stuff, which was itself a tribute to, like, all those sort of.
C
Yeah. And to old serialized radio.
B
Exactly. Yeah.
A
I wrote down the Wonderful World of Rocks, which is one of my favorite lines in all of kzm. The fight sequences were amazing. Adam Godley's moment at the end, we.
B
Got to listen to Rocks.
A
Yeah.
B
The wonderful world of rocks. Sometimes it's the most simple things.
A
Yeah. Oh, I wrote the scariest moment in a GZM show. That was when, you know, we. We don't have to play that one because it is actually quite scary. When Godly went blind.
B
Oh, yeah, yeah, I see it here. I actually played it beforehand. I was like, boy, that's pretty scary.
A
It is. I was really delighted that we let a Broadway star sing because we. We sometimes don't.
B
Yes.
C
And often we have them. We tell them not to sing well.
B
Yeah. That's actually really hard for them when we ask them to not sing well.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I think after that was Cyrus, the Lost tapes. And that was also. We got the iconic line, I'm just a girl with a glitch. Got introduced to the amazing character of angel. And.
B
Is that a T shirt yet? No.
A
I need to. Fine. I'll do my job. And Cyrus legs not moving was also scary. The whole business of Cyrus and Angel at the end was really. I think I complimented y' all on this. Before that, I really liked the writing when it was just two characters. Like, what you can do with just two characters.
C
Great. And there's some really nice Cyrus and Angel stuff coming up too.
A
I'm looking forward to that.
B
Yeah.
A
Then we did Nightingale Halloween, and they got to go back underground. It was really fun hanging out with the actors for their sessions too. I know that the fans and them are itching for season two.
B
Right. Well, and also. But one big. You just had a big fan release today that came out from Nightingale.
A
Yes. Stronger Every Day. Stronger Every Day is on all streaming platforms.
B
Yeah, I know.
A
We're working on.
B
Popped up in my email this morning when I couldn't sleep at 3:30 in the morning, I was like, oh, it's out.
A
Yeah.
C
Great song.
A
We're working on releasing even more GZM songs. And then now we've been working on Smoot 4. Can you play the high clip?
B
Yeah. Bryn. Hi.
A
Finally.
B
Hi.
A
Hi. Hi.
B
I think that's the line reading of the year. I think you can just get from that one clip, I feel like even if you've never seen the show, you'd be like, I need to see this show.
C
I know who she is.
A
Yes.
B
Just in like, one word.
C
It's amazing.
B
Hi.
A
We're getting to work with these actors. Some of them y' all have known since they were 11 and now they're 18. Like, we were saying in the rewind episode that these characters are. They've always been really amazing actors, but it's like you don't even have to direct them anymore because they know their roles so well.
C
And I won't spoil the reason why. What? But Ava directed few scenes for us.
A
What?
B
She did? Yeah. Really?
C
There's a very special reason that we'll talk about when we get there.
A
Oh, my gosh. That's wonderful. Oh, that's so exciting. It's such a great story.
C
It's really fun.
B
I wish. I wish we could share it with you, but we can't. I'm sorry.
A
Okay. Not a big deal.
C
Yes. But Ava, besides being a great actress and doing all these great things, she teaches acting as well, so.
A
Wow.
C
Yes.
A
Yeah.
B
That.
A
Honestly, that doesn't surprise me. She's amazing. And I really want y' all to pat yourselves on the back for the song that you created this year.
B
Oh, for the. I'll pat Chris on the back. Yeah.
A
You created a pop star.
B
That's true. I did. I created a fake fictitious pop star.
A
Yeah. What do y' all think about this year? How do you feel about, like, think about where you were when you made Mars and think about, like, would you ever imagine that you could accomplish this much in just a year?
B
I think one of the things that I always look back on, even when we're doing it, is just, like, the fact that, like, it started out just Ben, Dave, and I, and now it's just, like, so many great people.
A
Yeah.
B
And, like, everybody's just. I mean, they're doing. Everybody's doing their job, obviously, but they're all doing it because. They're all doing. We're all doing it because. And everybody's doing it because they love it.
C
Yeah. Everybody's bringing something like.
B
Like, even. Even. Like, everybody cares on such a level.
A
That it's just lucked out with the collection of people you got.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
C
It's a great group.
B
I think you collect.
C
We should have a party.
B
Go. You know what we should do? We should have a Christmas party.
A
Dave is. Dave has to run home and get ready for the party we're about to have.
C
Yeah. I got Hair Mickey waiting at my house.
A
And the biggest people. The biggest thing we have to thank is you, listener.
C
That's the most amazing.
B
Yeah. I have some. I have some good music out music for that.
A
Okay, great.
B
Okay, you ready? We're some out music, and you can talk over it.
A
And the people we have to thank the most this year. That's you, listener.
B
I love it. Everybody gets quiet.
A
Thank you so much for joining us. For all the adventures, all the laughter, all the tears. Wouldn't be a show without you.
C
All the great mailbags.
A
All the great mailbags.
B
Go over to the rewind feed, and if you like what you hear, join us every week.
A
I think it'd be a great time.
C
Five stars. We like five stars.
A
Happy 2024.
B
Perfect.
A
Happy 2025. It's starting.
