Colin Robinson
Isabelle, get the kids to the lifeboat. I've got Leo. It's okay, kid. You can go back to sleep.
Isabelle Robinson
The lifeboat.
Colin Robinson
Colin, we have to get off this research platform now.
Isabelle Robinson
You said it was built to withstand big storms.
Colin Robinson
It is, but not a direct hit from a category five.
Isabelle Robinson
It's Christmas Eve.
Colin Robinson
With any luck, we'll get in the boat, outrun the storm, and come back when it's past.
Isabelle Robinson
Okay, I'll grab the presents and the kids.
Colin Robinson
Thank you.
Isabelle Robinson
Hey, Amelia. Jake. Life jacket's on. Come with me, Leo. It's time to wake up, sweetie.
Amelia Robinson
Mom. According to the schematics of this facility, if the cables start to break away from the ocean floor.
Isabelle Robinson
You don't have to worry about that, Amelia. But we're going to get on the lifeboat just in case.
Amelia Robinson
It's called a pod, Mom. It has steering and stabilizers to keep us afloat. How is Leo? Still asleep. And why is Jake just standing there?
Isabelle Robinson
Jake. Jake, we have to go. Jake.
Amelia Robinson
Why isn't he moving?
Isabelle Robinson
I don't know. Colin.
Colin Robinson
Got it. Jakey. Jake. Jake.
Jake Robinson
Dad.
Colin Robinson
Hey, kid. Look at me. We got this, okay? We'll hop in, head for calmer water. It's gonna be an adventure. But we like adventures, right? And tomorrow, we're gonna have the best Christmas ever.
Jake Robinson
You say everything is an adventure.
Colin Robinson
Because it is if you make it one.
Isabelle Robinson
Everyone, down the stairs to the lifeboat.
Amelia Robinson
Mommy.
Isabelle Robinson
Hello, sleepyhead.
Amelia Robinson
We're getting in a boat pod. We are?
Jake Robinson
Are we sure about this? I mean, look at how big those wa is. Like hundreds of miles away.
Colin Robinson
We will trigger the beacon and someone will come find us as soon as it's safe. But we have to go now. Come on, guys. This way. Watch your head. Okay, follow me.
Isabelle Robinson
Okay, everyone, come on. Into the hatch. You got this.
Colin Robinson
Come on.
Isabelle Robinson
Come on. Amelia, how are you feeling?
Amelia Robinson
I'm fine.
Isabelle Robinson
You sure? No dizziness or.
Amelia Robinson
I said I'm fine, Mom.
Isabelle Robinson
Good. You first. Go ahead, Leo.
Colin Robinson
Come on.
Isabelle Robinson
Boo.
Colin Robinson
Let's go. You're next, Jake.
Jake Robinson
Mom.
Isabelle Robinson
Right behind you, mijo. As long as we're together, everything will be just fine.
Colin Robinson
Everybody buckled in? It's gonna be a bit bumpy when we launch into the water.
Amelia Robinson
Bumpy? Bumpy?
Jake Robinson
Bumpy, Leo, how bumpy?
Amelia Robinson
According to the manual, we'll be dropping from 10 meters above the ocean.
Jake Robinson
10 meters is like 32ft.
Isabelle Robinson
Nothing to worry. That's what this boat is built for, right?
Colin Robinson
Sure is. Ready? Everybody ready?
Isabelle Robinson
Ready.
Colin Robinson
Okay, get ready to fly.
Isabelle Robinson
Prepare for launch. Prepare for launch.
Amelia Robinson
In 3, 2, 1.
Jake Robinson
So that's how my family started our Christmas vacation in the South Pacific. Not exactly the way mom and dad planned it. But then again, in the Robinson family, most of our plans don't go as planned. Before we found ourselves on a research platform in the middle of the ocean. Before the storm. I, my little brother, Leo, and my sister Amelia. We call her Emmy. We just started our winter break in cold, snowy St. Paul, Minnesota. Christmas was a few days away and things were pretty much normal. Well, normal for us, anyway.
Isabelle Robinson
Sorry to squeeze in one last meeting. I just wanted to make sure all of our construction projects are on track before the end of the year.
Colin Robinson
I do have some concerns about the condo project on the lake.
Isabelle Robinson
Concerns?
Amelia Robinson
Mom.
Jake Robinson
Just a second, Hemi.
Isabelle Robinson
What are your concerns, Fritz?
Colin Robinson
Well, with the backlog of Mom.
Isabelle Robinson
Sorry. Hold that thought. Just going on mute for a sec. Could everybody please keep it down while I'm on a work call?
Amelia Robinson
Did he make the cookies for the debate team? Holiday bake sale.
Isabelle Robinson
Hold on, Leo. Amelia, I thought you said it was next week.
Amelia Robinson
How could a holiday bake sale be after the holidays? I'll just order some to be delivered.
Isabelle Robinson
No, wait. Let's figure this out.
Jake Robinson
It's a one person game, Lee.
Amelia Robinson
I'm one person.
Jake Robinson
I mean, just me.
Amelia Robinson
Hey, keep it down. Mom's on a call.
Jake Robinson
You're the one who interrupted her.
Isabelle Robinson
Sorry about that. Everybody's home from school. Lots of energy.
Amelia Robinson
Mom, Jake won't let me play.
Isabelle Robinson
I'm on a work call. Leo, you're mooted. Not anymore.
Amelia Robinson
It's muted. Leo, Moo is your robot cow. I know who moo is, Emmy. Mom, your phone is ringing.
Isabelle Robinson
I'll deal with it in a sec.
Jake Robinson
Mom, can you please ask Leo to stop bothering?
Isabelle Robinson
He just wants to play with his big brother.
Jake Robinson
Yeah, well, his big brother is busy with a quest.
Amelia Robinson
Stop everything. Jake's on a quest.
Jake Robinson
Sorry, I'm not doing school stuff during a break.
Amelia Robinson
It's not school stuff.
Isabelle Robinson
Everyone, please, I just have to get through this one last boring but important call, and then I can help you. Uh, Isabel, you're off mute. I'm. Oh, sorry. I just meant it would be boring for the kids. Kids, hang on. Oh, boy. Please, everyone, just give me a few minutes and then.
Jake Robinson
Hey, it's dad calling.
Isabelle Robinson
Answer it. I'll be right there.
Jake Robinson
Hey, dad.
Isabelle Robinson
What's up, Jakey?
Colin Robinson
Hey, I tried to call your mom, but she didn't answer.
Jake Robinson
Yeah, she's on a work call. It's not going so well.
Colin Robinson
Sorry to hear that.
Amelia Robinson
Hi, dad. Daddy. Daddy.
Colin Robinson
Hey, guys. Hey, want to see the view from the research platform? Check it out. Pacific Ocean, everywhere you look.
Amelia Robinson
Whoa. You really are in the middle of nowhere. Daddy's glitchy again. Dad, how are the plankton doing this week?
Colin Robinson
The count is way up, Emmy. Thanks for asking.
Jake Robinson
Wait, shouldn't you be on the helicopter back to land by now? I mean, Christmas is only a couple days away.
Colin Robinson
Um, can you get your mom, bud?
Jake Robinson
She's still on the call. What's going on, Dad?
Colin Robinson
I just need to talk with her for a sec.
Amelia Robinson
Talk to us. What is it?
Colin Robinson
Okay, listen, something's come up. Wally got sick, and Mike's wife is about to go into labor. My boss, Dante, is heading out tomorrow, and he kind of, sort of made it clear that I'm gonna have to stay on the platform to run the research this week.
Isabelle Robinson
You're not gonna make it home for Christmas.
Colin Robinson
Hey, I was trying to wait.
Jake Robinson
You aren't.
Amelia Robinson
That's not fair, Leo. Dad can't help it. Science waits for no man, right? It's Christmas. You said I could help put up lights.
Jake Robinson
Leo, stop. It's not all about you, I promise.
Isabelle Robinson
I didn't want this, but it's okay. We'll have a Zoom Christmas and celebrate for real when you get home in January.
Amelia Robinson
Oh, come on. It'll be fine.
Jake Robinson
Hey, it was on the phone.
Amelia Robinson
Stop it. Your dream that is so much worse.
Jake Robinson
Leo, mom and dad talk.
Colin Robinson
I've got an idea. What if you fly out to join me on the platform?
Isabelle Robinson
Really? All of us?
Amelia Robinson
Is that allowed?
Jake Robinson
Why not?
Colin Robinson
It's nice and warm here in the South Pacific. Quiet, too. I'll book the soonest flight and have Marie waiting at the airport in Tonga with a helicopter to take you out here. You could be here by tomorrow.
Isabelle Robinson
That's quite a plan.
Amelia Robinson
But Christmas in the middle of the South Pacific?
Colin Robinson
We've even got a little tree set up in the galley, totally decorated with random stuff that washes up on day. But it'll be an adventure. And in this time zone.
Isabelle Robinson
Colin, can we talk about this privately? Colin.
Jake Robinson
When it comes to families, there are all kinds of storms to weather.
Isabelle Robinson
An original audio Adventure Episode 1 Shipwrecked.
Jake Robinson
Okay, Isabelle, kids, we should be arriving at the platform in just a few.
Isabelle Robinson
Thanks, Marie.
Jake Robinson
Don't thank me. I wasn't the one who signed off on this plan.
Amelia Robinson
It must be amazing to be head of security for a company like Carnesium Labs. And a helicopter pilot, too. It has its ups and downs.
Jake Robinson
Good one.
Colin Robinson
What the joke.
Isabelle Robinson
What joke? Never mind.
Amelia Robinson
Jake, check this out. Who wants to talk? In the headset.
Jake Robinson
Mood to you, too. My dad started working on this oceanic research platform about a year ago. He's away for weeks at a time, but it never really hit me until we were headed out there. There was nothing around for hundreds of miles. Just water as far as I could see.
Amelia Robinson
I'm looking up facts about the platform. Did he know that took taranisium lapse almost four years to build it? It's 145 meters tall and has a water purification and desalination system. It even has a gym and a restaurant. Calling at a restaurant is a stretch. More like a middle school cafeteria. You've eaten there?
Isabelle Robinson
I mostly fly scientists in and out. First time carpooling with a family you aren't seen?
Jake Robinson
Nah.
Isabelle Robinson
I'll drop you folks off, pick up.
Jake Robinson
Dante, and head back to the home base. We're monitoring a cyclone out to the.
Isabelle Robinson
East, but seems like we got lucky.
Jake Robinson
It's heading in the opposite direction.
Isabelle Robinson
I'm glad to hear it.
Jake Robinson
Yeah, me too.
Amelia Robinson
Ooh, can I stick my head out the window to show moo the view?
Isabelle Robinson
No, stay in your seat.
Amelia Robinson
Look, there it is. There it is. Whoa.
Jake Robinson
The platform stuck up out of the water like a steel tower. It was taller than I'd imagined and had the biggest satellite dish I'd ever seen at the top. And yet, out there all alone in the ocean. It looked tiny.
Isabelle Robinson
That light on top, why is it flashing like that?
Jake Robinson
That's the emergency beacon. And it's flashing Morse code.
Amelia Robinson
I know how to do this. Dot, dash, dash, dot, dot, dash, dash. Welcome. It says, welcome, Robinsons.
Jake Robinson
Cbird 2 to TL platform.
Isabelle Robinson
Request clearance to land.
Jake Robinson
Hello, platform, do you read?
Isabelle Robinson
Over.
Colin Robinson
Hey.
Jake Robinson
Hey, what's happening?
Colin Robinson
Why?
Jake Robinson
Why are the cops shorting out? I'm not sure. Seabird 2 to platform, do you copy?
Amelia Robinson
That's weird. That's Daddy's favorite Christmas song.
Colin Robinson
Ho, ho, ho. Welcome, Robinson family.
Amelia Robinson
Daddy. Daddy.
Isabelle Robinson
Hi, honey.
Jake Robinson
Yes, hi, honey. You're not supposed to use the emergency beacon for personal messages.
Colin Robinson
Hi to you too, Marie. Merry almost Christmas. Free or in for a landing. Rudolph.
Isabelle Robinson
Woo hoo.
Amelia Robinson
Coming. D.
Isabelle Robinson
Daddy.
Amelia Robinson
Daddy.
Colin Robinson
Hey there, big man.
Amelia Robinson
Moo's here too. He wants to walk.
Colin Robinson
Careful there, Moo. Don't get too close to the edge.
Amelia Robinson
I got him.
Colin Robinson
And I got you. Y'all ready for the greatest Christmas in the history of Christmases?
Amelia Robinson
I'm sure Santa couldn't find us all the way out here.
Colin Robinson
Oh, yeah. See that satellite dish way up there? That's so our signal makes it all the way to the North Pole.
Isabelle Robinson
Hey, you.
Colin Robinson
Mw. It's really, really great to see you.
Isabelle Robinson
Yeah.
Colin Robinson
Iz, what's wrong?
Isabelle Robinson
It just suddenly hit me. What if something happens out here? If Amelia feels sick or.
Amelia Robinson
Dad.
Colin Robinson
Emmy, Jake, how we doing?
Amelia Robinson
Great. Can I go look at the bio lab?
Colin Robinson
You can even help me do my readings later. Yes, let's just settle in here first and then we'll start the tour. Hey, Jakey. Feeling okay?
Jake Robinson
I'm good. Great flight? Totally solid.
Colin Robinson
Glad to hear it. Come here, you three. Welcome to paradise. Can you bring the presents for the kids?
Isabelle Robinson
There wasn't enough room for all of them, but I managed to sneak one per each.
Colin Robinson
Well done.
Isabelle Robinson
Well, if it isn't my favorite family. Hello, Isabel. Dante. Fancy meeting you here. Yeah, just waiting for Mariah. Right, Marie. Whatever you say. Guys, you remember Mr. Samuels, Dad's boss. I like to think we work together until I need him to stay during Christmas. Anyway, I'm surprised you approved our little visit.
Jake Robinson
So was Marie.
Isabelle Robinson
I admit I thought it was unusual at first, but a little togetherness never hurt anyone, right?
Colin Robinson
Hear, hear.
Isabelle Robinson
Colin, you need anything else before we head back to air?
Colin Robinson
Nope. We are stocked up on plenty of supplies and I've got my family. What more could a guy need?
Jake Robinson
I have a few suggestions.
Isabelle Robinson
All right, have fun. Steam back from the helicopter, everyone.
Amelia Robinson
Bye.
Isabelle Robinson
Merry Christmas.
Colin Robinson
Robinson, come on tour.
Jake Robinson
Dad walked Us through the facility from top to bottom. For Amelia, it was like Disney World mixed with the Emerald City, the labs, technology.
Amelia Robinson
Even I had to remain.
Jake Robinson
It was pretty cool. But the sleeping accommodations were less than stellar.
Colin Robinson
We call this the birth. It's our bedroom.
Jake Robinson
We're all sleeping in one room.
Colin Robinson
I asked for the presidential suite, but, you know, the holidays and all.
Isabelle Robinson
It'll be fun. Like when you were little and we used to go camping.
Amelia Robinson
You mean like the time when Jake fell on the lake and had to be rescued?
Isabelle Robinson
Choose your bunks, Jake. You get first pick.
Jake Robinson
I. I guess I'll take the bottom one. Over here. Comfy, Boo?
Amelia Robinson
I bet I can drop jump from this one to yours.
Jake Robinson
Don't do that. Hey. Ow.
Amelia Robinson
Real. Watch it.
Colin Robinson
I'm really glad you all are here.
Isabelle Robinson
I mean, I would have liked to chat about it before we told the kids.
Colin Robinson
Did you not want to come?
Isabelle Robinson
I wanted us to be together, of course. But we did have plans with my family for Noche Buena. And.
Colin Robinson
Why didn't you say something?
Isabelle Robinson
Well, the connection was bad, as usual. And you got everyone all hyped, as usual. I am looking forward to being off the grid for a few days.
Colin Robinson
There we go. We're gonna give them a great Christmas.
Isabelle Robinson
Hey, who wants to find a place to hang the stock?
Colin Robinson
It's not exactly a roaring fireplace, but the communications room is cozy, right? Lots of monitors and screens.
Amelia Robinson
This is how you talk to the.
Colin Robinson
Mainland and send our data back to the labs. It's also where I make my glitchy video calls to you.
Isabelle Robinson
What's this device?
Jake Robinson
Looks like radar or something.
Colin Robinson
Honestly, I don't know what that is. Never really noticed it before. Must be something Operations uses to track supply ships. I stick to the sciencey stuff.
Amelia Robinson
Moo. Stop walking. Leo. Where are you going?
Isabelle Robinson
Boo.
Amelia Robinson
Stop. Why are the commands working?
Isabelle Robinson
What are you doing?
Jake Robinson
Come back here.
Colin Robinson
This is a general announcement for all marine vessels. We are continuing to monitor the storm, which is now 1000km off the coast of New Zealand. It has intensified to a category three cyclone. It is still trending eastward, but all are advised to stay on alert. A storm of this magnitude can change.
Amelia Robinson
Paths at any time.
Colin Robinson
So are we getting used to these bunks or what?
Jake Robinson
You want the real answer?
Isabelle Robinson
I don't think they're so bad. Where's Amelia?
Amelia Robinson
Right here, Mom. I was out on the deck using my Stargazer, apparently.
Colin Robinson
Amazing how bright they are out here, huh?
Amelia Robinson
It's actually getting kind of cloudy out there. Too cloudy for Santa? Nah, never too cloudy for Santa. But we have to go to sleep for him to show up tonight. Right, dad?
Colin Robinson
Correct. I can already see the visions of sugar plums dancing in my head.
Amelia Robinson
Boo. Right? Moo.
Colin Robinson
I know this isn't exactly a traditional Christmas Eve, guys. But then we're not the most traditional family, right?
Amelia Robinson
You mean because Jake's adopted?
Jake Robinson
No, Leo, that's not what they meant.
Isabelle Robinson
Dad meant that we have multiple traditions. Like how Abuelo and abuela celebrate Noche Buena. And Grammy and Gramps celebrate by buying a tree the size of the one.
Colin Robinson
In Rockefeller center and leaving it up until March. The point is, every family makes their.
Isabelle Robinson
Own traditions and their own memories.
Colin Robinson
I guarantee you'll never forget this one.
Isabelle Robinson
It is nice to have this time together. Just the five of us. Without work and activities.
Colin Robinson
And devices.
Isabelle Robinson
And tomorrow, we're gonna have a very special Christmas with presents to open and Christmas cookies that I brought from home. I know that life gets busy, and this year hasn't been easy with your dad away so much. But we have a lot. We have a lot to be grateful for.
Colin Robinson
We do. And yes, Leo, Santa will arrive when you're asleep.
Jake Robinson
I think he's already one step ahead of you.
Colin Robinson
Wore himself out, huh?
Jake Robinson
Oh, finally.
Amelia Robinson
Good night, everyone. This place is really amazing, dad.
Colin Robinson
Thanks, Emmy. So are you. Good night, Jake.
Jake Robinson
Good night, dad. Mom.
Isabelle Robinson
Night, Jakey. Emmy.
Colin Robinson
Night, Robinson. Fam.
Jake Robinson
Whoa. What's that?
Colin Robinson
That's the weather warning signal. I'll go to the bridge and check it out.
Amelia Robinson
We're coming with you.
Colin Robinson
This door made a left turn. It's headed our way. And it's grown into a category 5 cyclone. Let me see if Maria can get us out of here before it hits.
Jake Robinson
I guess you know what happened next. Within an hour, the outer bands of the storm were hitting the platform. The whole thing was swaying like a.
Isabelle Robinson
Tree in the wind.
Colin Robinson
Isabelle, get the kids to the lifeboat. We have to get off this research platform now.
Isabelle Robinson
You said it was built to withstand big storms.
Colin Robinson
It is, but not a direct hit from a Category five.
Isabelle Robinson
It's Christmas Eve.
Colin Robinson
With any luck, we'll get in the boat, outrun the storm, and come back when it's passed.
Isabelle Robinson
Hey, Amelia. Jake, life jacket's on. Come with me. Leo. It's time to wake up, sweetie.
Colin Robinson
Everybody buckled in? It's going to be a bit bumpy when we launch into the water. Get ready to fly.
Amelia Robinson
Prepare for launch.
Isabelle Robinson
Prepare for launch in three, two.
Colin Robinson
Okay, get ready, everyone. We're gonna outrun this storm.
Jake Robinson
What's happening?
Colin Robinson
Come on, come on.
Isabelle Robinson
Go, go, go, go, go.
Colin Robinson
I'm going pod to Home Base pod to Home Base. This is the family Robinson. We are stranded at sea. Come in.
Isabelle Robinson
Did we do it? Did the storm pass?
Colin Robinson
I'm not sure. The navigation equipment must have been damaged in the fall.
Isabelle Robinson
Then you don't know how far we've traveled from the platform?
Colin Robinson
No, but it seems calm.
Amelia Robinson
When are we going home?
Colin Robinson
We just have to wait it out, kiddo, and then someone will be out to pick us us up.
Amelia Robinson
But no one is answering our signal.
Isabelle Robinson
I'm sure they're all hunkered down for the storm. We'll hear from someone soon.
Jake Robinson
What was that?
Isabelle Robinson
Oh, just hang on a sec.
Jake Robinson
My parents were saying all the right things and acting like they weren't worried. But maybe for the first time in my life, I saw that they were really scared.
Colin Robinson
Oh, no.
Isabelle Robinson
Colin.
Colin Robinson
I think it caught up to us.
Amelia Robinson
The storm.
Jake Robinson
And that's when the full brunt of the storm hit the lifeboat. Dad, there's water getting into the boat.
Amelia Robinson
Mommy.
Isabelle Robinson
It's gonna be okay, Leo.
Amelia Robinson
Mommy, come here.
Isabelle Robinson
Give me your hand.
Amelia Robinson
I got you. Boo. Dad, look at that wave.
Jake Robinson
Even in the dark through the tiny porthole, I could tell it was the largest wave I'd ever seen. It rose up over us like a skyscraper of water. And then it hit.
Amelia Robinson
Dad. Hello? Anyone? No service, but it's working. I've got 85%.
Jake Robinson
Emmy.
Amelia Robinson
Jake. Jake, Are you okay?
Jake Robinson
I think so. Where's everyone else?
Amelia Robinson
I don't know. Come on, let's look on the other side of those rocks.
Isabelle Robinson
Whoa.
Jake Robinson
Look how high those cliffs are.
Isabelle Robinson
Emilia. Jake. Leo.
Jake Robinson
Mom.
Colin Robinson
Mom.
Amelia Robinson
Mom.
Isabelle Robinson
Oh, you're okay, Amelia. How are you feeling? Any tightness in your chest?
Amelia Robinson
I'm fine, mom, other than being soaking wet.
Jake Robinson
Where's that?
Isabelle Robinson
This? This is his life jacket. Colin.
Colin Robinson
I'm here. Everybody okay?
Isabelle Robinson
I think so. But where's Leo?
Jake Robinson
I haven't seen him.
Colin Robinson
Me either.
Isabelle Robinson
Leo. Hey, Leo.
Jake Robinson
Leo, buddy.
Colin Robinson
Leo. Leo, where are you? What's that?
Amelia Robinson
Leo?
Isabelle Robinson
Up there on that crazy rock.
Amelia Robinson
Crazy rock?
Colin Robinson
Looks like quartzite, but that doesn't belong on a beach like this.
Amelia Robinson
We found it on us.
Colin Robinson
Leo. Stay right there, buddy.
Isabelle Robinson
We're coming.
Jake Robinson
How do you get up there so fast?
Amelia Robinson
He's Leo.
Colin Robinson
Emmy, take it easy. Don't push yourself.
Jake Robinson
I'm fine.
Amelia Robinson
We'll just get to.
Jake Robinson
Whoa.
Isabelle Robinson
Is that a frog?
Colin Robinson
It used to be a frog the.
Amelia Robinson
Size of a golden retriever.
Colin Robinson
I've never even heard of him.
Isabelle Robinson
Shoo. Beat it, creepy giant frog. Go.
Amelia Robinson
Come on, froggy. Come back.
Colin Robinson
Leo, come down here.
Amelia Robinson
Mommy.
Isabelle Robinson
Gotcha. Okay. You're okay, sweetheart. We all are.
Colin Robinson
We made it.
Jake Robinson
Made it where?
Colin Robinson
I'm not sure. The South Pacific is dotted with little islands. Anybody have cell service?
Isabelle Robinson
No.
Jake Robinson
Negative.
Amelia Robinson
No bars. But my phone is functioning, and the map I downloaded has every known island in this region of the world. It's almost dawn, but I think I can use that star navigation app to triangulate our position.
Jake Robinson
So it's okay for her to use devices.
Amelia Robinson
Jake, that's the North Star.
Isabelle Robinson
Emmy, what is it?
Amelia Robinson
Mom, dad, this island. It's not on the map.
Isabelle Robinson
Shh.
Jake Robinson
It's starting.

Plot Summary
The episode "Introducing: Hidden Island" sets the stage for the Robinson family's unforeseen adventure. Initially, the family is enjoying a typical winter break in snowy St. Paul, Minnesota, preparing for Christmas. However, Colin Robinson's work commitments pull them away from their planned festivities.
[00:04] The episode opens with Jess introducing the bonus content and providing a brief overview of the Hidden Island series. The Robinson family boards a boat pod to escape an impending Category Five cyclone threatening their research platform in the South Pacific.
As the family settles into the lifeboat pod, tension arises from the abrupt change in plans. Jake reflects on their departure:
Jake Robinson (00:28): "So that's how my family started our Christmas vacation in the South Pacific. Not exactly the way mom and dad planned it."
The storm quickly intensifies, forcing the family to abandon the research platform. [20:18] The cyclone's ferocity surpasses expectations, and the lifeboat is battered by massive waves. Amidst the chaos, the family struggles to stay afloat, culminating in their shipwreck on an uncharted island.
Upon regaining their bearings, the Robinsons discover that the island isn't marked on any of their maps. [26:47] Amelia points out the anomaly:
Amelia Robinson (26:47): "Mom, dad, this island. It's not on the map."
Their exploration reveals bizarre phenomena, including a giant, mysterious frog-like creature, indicating that the island holds secrets beyond conventional understanding. The family's survival instincts are tested as they navigate the unknown terrain, setting the stage for further adventures and revelations in subsequent episodes.
