Brinley
There are kids in this world who are different special.
Cyrus
They fell Through a portal and got.
Brinley
Lost in the 80s. And now their time is running.
Flight Announcer
Will now be departing from gate three.
Brinley
I wonder, sweet Brinley, if you ever think about our summers visiting grandma in Seattle. Those are some of my happiest memories. Baking cookies together. Watching you dig through my old toy box and sleep in my old bed.
Cyrus
Here you go. Alaska. One way ticket back to Alaska.
Brinley
Thanks.
Cyrus
Maybe it's time to stop reading those letters.
Brinley
Maybe you need to read a few to help you figure out when you start having an actual, you know, human heart.
Cyrus
I'm good, but maybe if I get bored on the plane.
Brinley
Yeah, maybe.
Cyrus
Okay, let's head to the gate.
Brinley
Wait. This is the wrong ticket. You put us on the wrong flight. Chill out.
Cyrus
There were no direct flights. So we have a layover.
Brinley
For a whole day. Cyrus is in the hands of Whittier Corp. The longer we wait, the longer he's alone with those monsters.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Dr. J.P. whittier.
Cyrus Anderson
I'm so pleased you know who I am, Cyrus.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Well, you have quite a reputation.
Cyrus Anderson
Not a bad one, I hope. The look on your face doesn't exactly give me confidence.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Well, you did just have me kidnapped.
Cyrus Anderson
I was told you surrendered of your own free will in Germany.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Well, let's just say I was tired of running.
Cyrus Anderson
Sorry for all the blindfold business. Angel has a flair for the dramatic. You have nothing to fear from me. Or her.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
I wouldn't go that far.
Cyrus Anderson
Why do you say that? Do you know something I don't?
Dr. J.P. Whittier
You're a world famous genius. What could I possibly know that you don't?
Cyrus Anderson
Cyrus, can we be honest with each other?
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Sure, Doc.
Cyrus Anderson
I know where you come from. Oh, Tell me. How far.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
How far what?
Cyrus Anderson
How far in the future is your home?
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Time travel? I think you've been cooped up in the lab too long. Doc.
Cyrus Anderson
Are we really going to do this? Play games?
Dr. J.P. Whittier
You tell me.
Cyrus Anderson
If you'll just come clean, it would make this so much easier.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Easier for whom?
Cyrus Anderson
For both of us. I suspect you and I could learn a lot from each other. I brought you here because I need your help. In fact, Cyrus Anderson, you might be my last hope.
Cyrus
Why did shoulder pads ever go out of style?
Brinley
Flight 96 to Seattle will begin boarding in 20 minutes. Seattle?
Cyrus
Everything's so much more colorful here too.
Brinley
Katie, put down that magazine and look at me.
Cyrus
What's the problem?
Brinley
Tell me why you booked these tickets.
Cyrus
I told you, we have a layover. Did you really think there's a direct flight from Berlin to Juneau?
Brinley
Our flight is to Seattle.
Flight Announcer
So?
Brinley
Seattle, Washington. Where My grandparents. Your parents. Lived. Live. I literally just read a letter from my mom about our trips there when I was little. You purposely booked it this way so you could go home.
Cyrus
Whatever.
Brinley
No, not whatever. You don't care about Cyrus. You only care about yourself.
Cyrus
Yeah, because it's such a crime to want to go home. That's all you've been trying to do since I met you.
Brinley
It's a crime when you know someone's life is in danger, when you purposely delay getting to him for your own selfish purposes.
Cyrus
I didn't have to come with you at all. I was doing you a favor.
Brinley
Oh, here we go.
Cyrus
What does that mean?
Brinley
It means Cyrus has been nothing but a friend to you. He'd never leave you to rot the way you're leaving him.
Cyrus
Well, at least now you can finally get it through your head that I'm not the same person who wrote those sappy letters.
Brinley
They aren't sappy. They're real.
Cyrus
Whatever.
Brinley
Stop saying whatever. For the last time, my mom is Cadence Cavendish. You are Cadence Cavendish. You might be a selfish, self involved teenager, but you are my mom.
Cyrus
No, I'm not. Because your mom had a full life before she disappeared. She grew up with her parents in Seattle. She met your dad. She got married at you, a family. Me? I was ripped away from my life when I was little. I grew up with no parents, no memories, at a twisted school on a fake island. My life won't have the same outcome hers did. It can't. And even if it could, I wouldn't want it to.
Brinley
What's that mean? You're saying you never have me? We're linked. Whether you like it or not. We're part of each other.
Cyrus
We're not connected, Brynlee. We're just a couple of girls who fell into a couple of portals. And now I have the chance to get on that plane to Seattle and go back to know what it feels like to have a real family again, to be normal again. If you want to stop somewhere else, you can trade in your ticket. Hopefully, you'll get home someday. But I won't be joining you.
Brinley
How can you do it? How can you abandon me again?
Cyrus
I never abandoned you in the first place. Brinley. Not everything is about you.
Brinley
Except it kind of seems like it is.

Flight Announcer
Open office door. Ivan?
Jude
Yes, Jude?
Flight Announcer
Have you found any more clues about what Brinley is doing in Berlin in 1989?
Jude
I'm afraid that concert photo was the only evidence, sir.
Flight Announcer
No more performances from this Simon Andre, AKA Cyrus Anders.
Jude
No. Every report states that the concert in Berlin was the last time he ever performed in public.
Flight Announcer
Hmm. Interesting. Where did you go, Cyrus?
Jude
Pardon me, sir. Something just shifted.
Flight Announcer
Shifted how?
Jude
In the Whittier Corp. Memory banks.
Flight Announcer
What does that.
Jude
I can't say for sure, but perhaps it's because time itself is shifting.
Flight Announcer
Time itself? Ivan, are you able to access the files that were changed?
Jude
Sir, perhaps I misspoke. They weren't changed. They're changing.
Flight Announcer
You don't say. Is there anything you can show me?
Jude
Seems I can play you A Whittier Corp. Alaska, recording from November 25, 1989.
Flight Announcer
A recording from inside this?
Jude
Yes, of an interrogation that took place on floor 63.
Flight Announcer
And who was the subject?
Jude
The subject's name is unspecified, but the interrogator was Dr. J.P. whittier.
Flight Announcer
Was it? Play the recording, please, Ivan.
Jude
As you wish.
Cyrus Anderson
Are we really going to do this? Play games?
Flight Announcer
You tell me, Cyrus answers.
Cyrus Anderson
Fascinating.
Jude
Jude, how is it that this is happening in the past and yet seems to be concurrent with the present?
Flight Announcer
Well, Ivan, some theorize that time flows like a river. Everything is happening at once. Continue playback.
Cyrus Anderson
I suspect you and I could learn a lot from each other. I brought you here because I need your help. In fact, Cyrus Anders, you might be my last hope.
Dr. J.P. Whittier
Sorry, but I can't help you.
Flight Announcer
Cyrus was here with Dr. Whittier. Now I just have to find a way to reach me.
