Brindley
There are kids in this world who are different, special. They fell through a portal and got lost in the 80s, and now their time is running.
Casey
Get.
Penny Lane
I would like to, but I just can't get over this little coinky dick.
Casey
What are you talking about?
Penny Lane
I come down to Florida to do a little recon, and I find not only the baby himself, but the battery, too.
Casey
You're still working for Jude, aren't you?
Penny Lane
I'm working with Jude.
Casey
Shouldn't I be handled with care?
Penny Lane
Then we'll see. What's Casey up to down there in the water?
Casey
Just checking out the fish, probably.
Penny Lane
Really, kid? Is that how you want to play this?
Casey
What do you want from me?
Penny Lane
It's not what I want. It's what Jude wants. A gateway to the past. And you're going to give that to him one way or another.
Brindley
Just a little further down this road.
Katie
It's so good to be home. Katie, what are you doing?
Brindley
Come on.
Katie
Can't move.
Adam
Severely underdressed for Alaska.
Katie
You're cold. This is nothing.
Adam
I thought I'd miss Berlin.
Katie
Suck it up, you big baby. We're almost there.
Adam
Easy to see why Cadence failed on this place.
Katie
Hey, don't make me Beam you in the face with a snowball.
Brindley
Kidding. Ish.
Katie
Look, there it is. There it is.
Adam
That's where you grew up?
Katie
Well, not yet, but in about 20 years.
Brindley
Until it burned down. Burns down?
Adam
Oh, sorry.
Brindley
Thanks.
Adam
Gotta be honest. You don't seem like the type to grow up in a place like this.
Brindley
I get that a lot. This cabin has been in my family for generations. My dad grew up here. In fact, his parents, my grandparents.
Katie
Your in laws.
Adam
Please don't do that.
Brindley
Had already died by 1989. So that means he lives here alone right now. Doesn't look like anyone's home. Dad started working on the pipeline when he was a teenager.
Adam
Sounds like a hard life.
Brindley
Yeah, but he was happy with my mom, I think, before she disappeared.
Adam
Right. So how do we get in?
Katie
Oh, we never locked the door. Got it.
Adam
Oh, my dead animals.
Katie
I know, right? It's good to see you, moose head. You too, Mr. Bear.
Adam
Mm. Glorious.
Brindley
So do you think maybe all the.
Adam
Clutter contributed to the fire?
Katie
It was burned down by a psycho pyromaniac. Is that a yak? It sure was. You know, you didn't hate it when you lived here.
Adam
I guess it's cozy. So what happened after it burned down? Where'd you go?
Brindley
The Anders family took me in. Dr. And Mr. A became like second parents to me. Honestly, I wish I could go knock on their door right now. They'd know exactly how to save Cyrus. But they're just teenagers. Here in 1989?
Adam
Oh, no.
Katie
What? It's nothing.
Adam
I just remembered they were at the concert.
Katie
Wait, what?
Adam
Dr. And Mr. Anderson. I saw them in Berlin after you and Cyrus took off.
Katie
You saw them and you didn't tell me?
Adam
I got distracted. I had to find you, warn you about angel, give the rock to Cyrus. And then he turned himself over to childcatchers.
Katie
He flew all the way from Germany to Seattle.
Adam
Like I said, distracted.
Katie
This is just great. Were they looking for me? For Cyrus.
Adam
They called him Simon, actually. They didn't seem to know he was their son.
Brindley
I had to tell them.
Katie
So they lost their memories, too. Who knows where they are now or what they're going through. And we have no way to get to them or find them.
Adam
In all fairness, I don't know if we'd have found them if I had told you that night. We were in such a rush to get on that plane.
Katie
You were in a rush because you only cared about getting yourself home.
Adam
No, that's not true. Not entirely, anyway. Don't forget, I was sucked through that portal when I was Six.
Katie
Six.
Adam
I didn't ask to be caught up in this nightmare.
Katie
And we did.
Adam
Well, you knowingly went to Elixir Academy.
Katie
And you're lucky I did. Or you'd still be there crying about your missing roommate, still being puppeteered by those monsters.
Adam
Or I'd be at peace, having never known about you or where I came from or that I ever agreed to live in this dump.
Katie
What you did is so heartless, so inconsiderate. And I'm sorry.
Adam
I don't know why it didn't occur to me to say something sooner, but it's not like we can't out figure fix it. We'll find them. Once we get Cyrus back, we can.
Katie
We aren't doing anything. I'll find Cyrus and his parents myself. Come on, Brindley. Don't follow me. Katie. I need to clear my mind.
Adam
Outside, it's freezing.
Katie
Only to weaklings like you. I saw an ATV out front. I'm taking it out for a ride in the woods. I've done it a million times. I'll be fine.
Adam
And you're just going to leave me here with the dead animals?
Katie
Kind of like what you did with James and Monica. Yeah. Let's see how you like it.
Penny Lane
Okay, Penny Lane, this can go one of two ways. You can hop on my hoverboard willingly, or I can turn the lights out and carry you back to Alaska, unconscious in a sack.
Casey
How about I don't go at all?
Penny Lane
See, that's not an option. Because I'm not going back without you. You're too important to Jude.
Casey
Lucky me. But I made a promise to myself that I would never help Jude again. Too many people got hurt.
Penny Lane
That's not my problem. Step on the board, Pen. Now. Time's up.
Adam
I really hate it when you bother my friends. Adam Casey.
Penny Lane
Welcome to the party. Thanks.
Adam
I was hoping I'd never see you again. But since you're here and I'm here, maybe it's time we got reacquainted.
Casey
Mutant versus bot fight.
Penny Lane
This ought to be fun.
Brindley
Dear Friendly, I know you have a stack of letters from the older version of me. Figured I'd add one to the bunch explaining why I need to leave.
Katie
I don't know why I expected any different. She's the same selfish person who left me all those years ago.
Brindley
For a long time, my choices were not my own. Coming back to 1989, I thought things would be different, that I can start over. I see now it's not that easy.
Katie
She didn't abandon me back then she had no choice. And I can't leave her either.
Brindley
So that's my plan. Gonna try to make things better somehow. Bye, Brinley. See ya when I see ya, Katie.
Adam
Okay, Mr. Yak, that oughta do it. Just hold my letter right in your mouth like that so Brinley will see it.
Brindley
Bye, Brynlee.

This episode weaves together suspenseful developments on two fronts: a beachside confrontation brewing between Casey and Penny Lane—hinting at a showdown between “mutant” and “bot”—and emotional reckonings as Brinley, Katie, and Adam revisit painful personal histories. With characters scattered in time and space (Alaska, Florida, and even Berlin in flashbacks), the episode explores the weight of memory, loyalty, and making hard choices to protect each other.

[03:00 - 07:19]
[08:42 - 09:48]
[08:16 - 08:42]
The episode fluctuates between high-stakes suspense (the brewing fight on the beach) and introspective emotional drama as characters confront their fraught histories and loyalties. Comic moments lighten the mood but give way to sincere self-examination, as the past and present collide for all involved.
This episode intensifies both emotional and plot stakes. With a showdown looming and deep wounds exposed, the series continues its trademark blend of sci-fi adventure, time-travel intrigue, and heartfelt family drama—leaving listeners eager to discover who (if anyone) will heal, escape, or find redemption.
