A collection of hilarious stories from Poolesville, Maryland.
All from the twisted mind of Mike Sacks.
SEASON 1 : STANLAND
StanLand is a five-part satirical audio series featuring Rhea Seehorn, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Little, Timm Sharp, Jon Hamm, John Waters, and more.
When cynical podcaster Melanie Hughes (Rhea Seehorn) vanishes without a trace, the only clue is her abandoned recorder, discovered by the side of a road in Poolesville, Maryland. What’s on the tape? A story that begins with a dusty Ikea wardrobe… and ends in a magical realm slowly being swallowed up by fast food chains, retail shopping, and vape stores. Enter Zyngia: once a land of wonder, ruled by a talking lion (Steve Little), now a cautionary tale of what happens when fantasy meets modern consumerism. At the center of it all? Stan Little (Bobby Moynihan). Unemployed. Unremarkable. Possibly the last person you’d want on a magical quest. And yet… here we are.
Written by Mike Sacks and S.G. Wilson.
SEASON 2: RANDY
Before Stan, there was Randy. Randy! is a self-published memoir of a Maryland thirty-something jerk found by author Mike Sacks at a garage sale and re-published here for you. The audio was captured by the struggling poet and novelist Noah B., who is embedded in the mind and lifestyle of a perversely unexceptional American asshole named Randy. Like Pale Fire if it were about a Danny McBride-style fuck-up, the story is both unmoored from time and eerily prescient of our own—one so stupid and unbelievable that it requires a writer like Mike Sacks to bring it to light.

Before StanLand, there was a story about Randy S, a 30-something from Poolesville, Maryland with too many ideas, too much confidence, and pretty much zero self-awareness. Randy hired a creative writing grad to follow him around and document his life. Those recordings ended up on 11 CDs at a garage sale, which were later picked up by Mike Sacks and released as an audio series. In this special interview, StanLand Producer Marianna talks with author Mike Sacks about where Randy came from, why Dave Willis (co-creator of Aqua Teen Hunger Force) is the only person who could play him, and why you kind of feel sorry for Randy, even when he's saying the most heinous things.Randy was originally released in 2018 but is now starting a new life as part of The Poolesville Chronicles, alongside StanLand and a brand new upcoming series currently under production! In this concluding episode of Zyngia NOW!, long-suffering host Periwinkle Fishmongerson Rimplepoor welcomes Hegone Husk, the wealthiest lich alive (or undead), for a tense and deeply unproductive interview. Before long, tempers flare, swords multiply, and the studio’s liability insurance begins to look wildly insufficient. Will truth prevail in Zyngia?Credits:Written by S.G. In the second unearthed installment of Zyngia NOW!, disgraced magic-school headmaster turned podcaster Periwinkle Fishmongerson Rimplepoor sits down with some very special guests: three of Stan Little’s many half-human, half-everything-else children. As accusations of nepotism swirl across the realm, Rimplepoor attempts to get to the “truth” with the help of his court-ordered companion, LegitiCut, the Sword of Truth.Episode 2 Credits:Written by S.G. From the producers of StanLand comes another installment of The Lost Podcasts of Zyngia: a newly unearthed audio archive that’s reshaping everything we thought we knew about the residents of Zyngia... and perhaps podcasting itself. This time, you may recognize a familiar con man’s voice: Professor Rimplepoor, Stan’s former instructor at the Wizened Wand School of Magical Enchantment and the wise old elf who once tried to rope Stan and Melanie into several multi-level marketing schemes. Now he's trying his hand at podcasting and he's joined by some very intriguing guests. This audio is sourced from the Leapfrog children's digital recorder belonging to Stan Little, which was found in Poolesville, Maryland, and sent to the WSUS offices by a man named Randy. We're releasing them on this feed in hopes that they might help us to win even more awards. And for your entertainment, of course.Enjoy this teaser for: ZYNGIA NOW! with Professor RimblepoorEpisode 1 is coming November 11!Series Credits:Written by S.G.
