The Peanut Butter Jelly.

War.
Amanda Weldon
Once upon a time, two small kingdoms lived at war. The battles boomed on bitterly. Never doubt that score. It wasn't over titles or who could make the land rich. They were fighting over fillings that went best inside a sandwich. In the Land of Legume they liked peanut butter best smooth or chunky, plain or funky. They ate with utter zest. But in the Pecten Province they preferred a purple jelly, sticky, sweet and never beat in a quick to burp full belly. The Legume King was full of hate and full of love for battle. He hated purple jelly but loved a nutshell sword's cold rattle. He hated the Pecten Province but loved being at war. I won't quit it till jellies bit it and tasted there no more. The Queen of Pecten Province truly seemed to feel the same. She hated peanut butter but loved some jelly taking aim. She hated the Land of Legume but loved giving a fight. I won't stop it till peanuts drop it and they don't get a bite. Their castles faced each other across a bare and lonely field Sticky from the peanut balms and jelly mines they wheeled. They'd spend their days with catapults, A thumping to and fro with what they hoped to accomplish. Well, nobody seemed to know. A soldier would be doused with jelly while eating his lunch. The legumes then would fire back, the peanut cannons crunch. The Pecten Province being shelled would answer with a jam. And then they'd all be at it, every weapon rump bump, bam. So day by day the struggle straggled. The Peanut Butter Jelly War, the peanut butter bombs a booming, the jelly jetters roar. No one seemed to be winning. No one seemed to care. The savory scent of sandwich stuffing fragrant filled the air. At night they'd stop the battle for sandwiches and sleep, the king and queen both hungry, their anger running deep. They'd stand up on their castles high above the messy ground and look down at the earth in peanut butter jelly drowned. The king, seeing the battlefield once thought that he'd go walk it so he ditched his royal guards A PB sandwich in his pocket across the way. Unknown to both, the Queen had the same thought so she too set out walking Bread and jellies all she brought. As he walked through the battlefield, a feeling struck the king. Was the fighting worth a sandwich filling? He began to sing.
Narrator
Oh, I love peanut butter Nobody's body better boasting oh, I love peanut butter and when it's spread on toast it's the flavor sensation that's well worth a nation going to war, war, war.
Amanda Weldon
As the queen walked through the battlefield she too felt it wrong. Were sandwiches worth all this mess? She too slipped into song.
Narrator
Oh, I love purple jelly no pernicious plant can post me oh, I love purple jelly and when it's spread on toast we have the greatest of food that's well worth our feud Owing to war, war, war.
Amanda Weldon
In the middle of the battlefield they both sat down to eat, not noticing each other until their hands happened to meet. The king gave out a holler, the queen gave out a cry. They were both so startled that they let their fillings fly. Up, up went the peanut butter sandwich in the air it came apart and spun around the king could only stare. Up, up too went the queen's sandwich of purple jelly. It split in half and crashed back down like a demon in a deli the peanut buttered bread stuck to the jellied with a slam the king cried, I can't believe it. My peanuts are in a jam. Oh boo hoo. Your sandwich stuck. The Queen, menacing, muttered, who gives a fluff, you nutter, when my jelly's peanut buttered? As the king and queen gazed at the sandwich laying on the ground Their bellies gave a rumble, grumble, bumble, hungry sound. They both looked all around them. There was no one else in sight. But the Queen said, just forget it. I refuse to eat a bite. But the king bent down and scooped on up the peanut butter jelly sandwich and not thinking of his kingdom that had always been a land which hated on jelly he had a need in his belly. He took a big bite. Eyes opened wide with delight he said, peanut butter and jelly together is right. The queen was about to argue to remind him of their warring ways. But when she opened her mouth to speak, she thought of all those boring days spent forever fighting and decided she would try the sandwich after all. And when it hit her lips, she knew she'd heard the peanut butter call.
Narrator
Oh I love peanut butter Nobody's body better boasts it oh, I love peanut butter and when it's spread on toast it's the flavor sensation that's well worth a nation Going to war, war, war oh, I love purple jelly no pernicious plan can uphost me oh, I love purple jelly and when it's spread on toast we have the greatest of food that's well worth our feud Going to war, war, war oh, we love PB and Jane Nothing's ever been better oh, we love PB and Jane when they come together they're the greatest duet that we've ever met why were we ever at war, war, war oh, why were we ever at war? And though it took explaining eventually they won and the peanut butter jelly war was well and truly done. The King and queen got married and in their kingdom to this very day you can eat the sandwich that you want as long as you want a.
