Sina
Yay.
Alyssa
Yay.
Sina
Hello, everyone. Welcome back. Today we wanted to do a little bit of a light hearted episode and just talk about one of the things that we love the most about, you know, what we talk about here, which is fashion and style. And we wanted to talk about what's inspiring us right now, what's inspiring our fashion choices. Anything in that area. I know for me, I'm definitely. I have things I look forward to. I feel like I'm in a bit of a fashion and style hibernation right now. Right now. Because I can't really get dressed.
Christina
She's baking.
Sina
Yes, I'm baking. I'm almost fully baked. I think my ab. I'm 90%.
Christina
That bun is ready.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Sina
Yeah. So I. Yeah, no, actually today I'm wearing jeans, a pair of maternity jeans, but then just an oversized sweater. So I have. I don't, I wouldn't say I don't care about my style right now because I still do. I still want to look nice and presentable, but I care maybe a little bit less about it. And then I just feel very. I just look very much forward to the future. Future me.
Alyssa
Good. That's exciting. Yeah, it's kind of fun to have that. What do you miss? What's like your. Oh, go ahead.
Sina
No, I'm at this stage where I look back at old photos and outfits that I wore last year and I'm like, I wish I could wear that now. So I think I'm kind of saving all of the good old favorites. And you know, there's. I hate the snapback culture. I'm not, you know, I'm not expecting to snap back or anything like that. There's no guarantee that you're going to snap back to your old body. That's not what I'm saying. But just, you know, being able to express myself in the kind of same way as I did last year. I was such. At such a good place last year with my style. I really feel like I.
Christina
She got the Sauce?
Sina
Yes, I had the sauce. I definitely.
Alyssa
Yeah, the sauce.
Christina
I love that.
Sina
So there's a lot of things that I'm just highlighting for myself at the moment, and outfits that I'm looking back at. Just. Just trying to celebrate those and bank those in my memory so that I can rewear those. Hopefully sometime next year or maybe beyond that. Yeah. How about you guys?
Alyssa
I. I'm kind of like, you in that. Like, I'm in a bit of a state of flux. I'm actually, like, packing down my things, so Italy is inspiring me a lot right now. Like, the. The.
Sina
Are you looking at, like, fashion?
Alyssa
Fashion restaurants, what people are wearing? For sure. There's. I just recently discovered a creator, Giovanna. I forget her last name, but she. She focuses on Italian brands and, like, their authenticity. And, like, she susses out, like, you know, if. If it's really made in Italy or not. Like, her knowledge is phenomenal. So I. I can link to her in the show notes, but stuff like that. Like, yeah, the restaurants. I've been looking back on some of my old photos from my time there, and I think it's just. Yeah. Like, checking out some of the, like, Brunello Cucinelli. I love, like, his recent collections. Yeah. So Italy has been inspiring me a lot. And I have to say, menswear. Okay. Like, the menswear creators.
Christina
Yeah.
Alyssa
I mean, what. They're. They know what's up. What my boyfriend wore. Phenomenal. Xander Torres, who you introduced me to Christina. Genius. Something. What's his name? I send this guy to everybody. Some not elements of style, but something like that. I just. Menswear. Menswear. It's where it's at. It's always. But I don't want to say it's always been that way. That's such a patriarchal comment. But it's like, I just. I love it. I like the structure. I like the layering, the textures, the footwear. It's great.
Sina
Menswear.
Christina
Are you putting that into your own style or how. Or you're just admiring it?
Alyssa
No, I definitely am. I definitely am, but it's cool because I still also feel like, the whole bombshelly thing, so. Or like, the drama. So I'll do, like, mini skirts and loafers is what I'm doing a lot of.
Christina
Oh, I love that.
Alyssa
Right? Yeah. Like, I got. I recently received a pair of loafers from Ma Parsons, and, like, this isn't sponsored. Like, it was a gift, but she. There's never strings attached, but fantastic loafers. They make me think of Like Milan and Florence. And so they're just really, really fun to wear. So I'll wear. But keep the bombshell with the mini. Or I'll wear them with, like, Christine and secondhand Levi's jeans, which are great. Like, I love those. So I'll wear them with those. Oh, they're amazing. I'm actually wearing your. Which ones are these? The redone maybe or the other ones? No, these.
Christina
Oh, a Goldie.
Alyssa
Yes. I love how you say she saw it. Okay, wait, she saw my cap. She literally saw my kneecap or, like, the cuff of the jeans. Oh, those are a Goldie, like, genius resident denim.
Christina
And. Well, I mean, if we're talking about what's inspiring me, it's very much denim. I'm, like, so hot for a denim on denim look right now. Yeah. I think it's also because next week, Jeff and I are going to be traveling to la and I was trying to think about, like, I often get inspired by the fashion of the places that I go. Like, when we were in Copenhagen, we talked about this. Like, I loved. I really learned about how to add a pop of color into outfits, whether it be, like, through a bag or through a toque or a hat. I hear the dog coming in. We need another cameo. So whether it be like a bag or a hat or a scarf or something like that. So I was. You know, I feel like that that's something that I kind of learned to bring in. And then in New York, I love. I think of, like, kind of all black and suiting and. I don't know, just New York can feel like. It feels like a little bit of everything to me. But in la, it makes me think of kind of like rock and roll. It makes me think of kind of like hippie bohemian. It makes me think of Hollywood glam. But I'm just. The denim, like, really beaten up worn in denim is making me think of kind of LA style with like a. Like a great. With like a great plain white T shirt, a good boot, a cool belt, and then some denim. That's like the. That's what I'm vibing right now.
Alyssa
I was gonna say, what are you packing? Can you tell us? Like, can you share? What are you thinking?
Christina
Yeah, I just filmed a packing video for that. It's gonna be up on my channel soon. But I had a hard time because, like, for example, I was. And I packed using that 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 method which we talked about on the channel. We. I think we have a video about it. And just to quickly share what that is. It's a really great packing method. Doesn't have to be carry on. It could be for longer, but it sort of gives you a nice structure, especially if you're traveling for a week or more. So it's five tops, four bottoms, three pairs of shoes, two layering pieces, and then one of any of your singles, whether it be like, accessories, pajamas, sunglasses, etc. So I packed using that framework, and when I got to the jackets, I was like, okay. I've been wearing this really great long blazer coat that I added to my wardrobe in September.
Sina
Yeah, I've seen that on your Instagram.
Christina
I love it. It's. Oh, I've just been upset. So cool. And the weather's been so mild. Like, it's not a warm coat by any means. It's like literally wearing a long blazer. It's made of 100% wool, but it's like a light, you know, it's a light. It's like almost like you're wearing a trench. It's like for trench weather. I've been wearing that so much on constant rotation. Love it. But I'm like, this feels kind of New York, east coast to me, Toronto to me. And then I. So then I was kind of debating between that and then my leather biker jacket. I'm like. A biker jacket just feels a little bit more la. It feels. It kind of reminds me of like, Anina Bing. Who. She's kind of like Scandinavian and LA style. So that, you know, that's kind of where. Where I got a little stuck. What do you think? No, I like your jacket. Eh.
Alyssa
Oh, 100%.
Christina
Should I bring the bike or not?
Alyssa
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Christina
It's too.
Alyssa
The other one is too severe, in my opinion, for la.
Sina
It's funny how you. I mean, I do that myself. How you take the place that you're traveling to into account, like. Yeah, because I think we've sometimes talked about, you know, think less about who. Who's there and where you're going and more about what do you want to tell your surroundings. But I think it's. You can't not think about where you're going a little bit, I think.
Christina
Yeah. Like, I think it's nice to. And it's not anything to do with, like, I don't want to. Because I feel like sometimes a lot of people don't. They. They don't want to look like a tourist. For example, I get. I actually, like. There's whole, like, blog posts and videos, like, how not to look like a tourist. In Paris or, you know, stuff like that. Yeah, but I think, like, I think a little bit of that is okay. I think it's a nice mix of kind of nodding, packing vibes that sort of complement or acknowledge where you're gonna be while still maintaining your own style. And I think that's like, that's kind of where you balance it as opposed to, you know, like, if I go to la, I'm not gonna. I don't know if there's like an LA uniform, but I know if I've kind of put that on, it might feel like a total. Like a bit of a costume. So it's like, how do I take what inspires me about this style or, like, why I interpret this style or this aesthetic to be. And then kind of bring it in to yourself?
Sina
I like that also, because that's the point of traveling in the first place, that you get. You get to escape your surroundings a little bit and enter a whole new world.
Alyssa
Yeah, that was really well said to acknowledge your location. Yeah, I do that even with. With people or friends or like venue, like, even here, without travel, like, if I'm going to a specific restaurant or if I'm meeting a specific friend who has like a really strong style aesthetic, I'll dress more like in their kind of vein. Like, I'll be like, oh, I know she's gonna be wearing like high boots and this. And I was like, so I'm gonna like, riff off of that. I'm gonna have fun with it too. Like, it's not like I'm trying to dress like the people I'm hanging out with or like to fit into the venue, but it's fun to take it as a point of inspiration. And yes, I like how you said that to acknowledge. That was a good word, to kind of acknowledge where you are and who you're with.
Sina
Yeah, that's cool.
Christina
Yeah. Because I think it's a bit of, I feel like, like, let's say if you're going to a rock show or something, I'm like, oh, maybe this is when I put on a red lip or do a little bit more heavy eyeliner or something. It's kind of a chance to like, again, you're still yourself, but it's like the version you can create a bit more of like a dramatic, played up version of yourself, depending on where you're going to fit that, to fit the vibe. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fun.
Sina
I have something else actually that just came to mind. I'm kind of back and forth with TikTok. I don't know what it is. Like, I like the platform. I hate it. I know right now I'm posting regularly, but it's because I also, I love watching creators just getting dressed.
Christina
Me too.
Sina
I think we've talked about before that we all kind of miss the long form content. And I still. The video doesn't have to be 10 minutes long every time. I know you can make 10 minutes long videos on TikTok. Doesn't can be three minutes or five minutes. That's not, that's not, you know, I.
Christina
Even, like in my brain on TikTok, I'm like, oh, that's too long.
Sina
Yeah. But it depends on what kind of content. Like if it's a, if it's a kind of a get to the point video, then, yeah, don't make it too long. But if it's more. If it's a creator that you're already kind of invested in somehow and you actually want to hear from them. I do enjoy watching people just getting dressed.
Christina
It's the storytelling and yeah, it's almost like you're having a conversation with them. I really like. Yeah, I love your getting ready with you videos because it's just like how we catch up. It's. It's just very, very casual and.
Sina
Yeah.
Christina
Fun. Yeah. It's cozy.
Sina
It is, it is. And it's. I find it a little bit because I love short form content too. Like the straight to the point kind of content. But I also love just, you know, taking a little bit of that pressure off and just because I, you know, I'm the type of person who loves watching YouTube videos while I, While I cook or while I do my skincare in the evening or. So sometimes it's, it's harder to get that if it's like snappy videos that you have to. It's a little bit more stressful. And yeah, like you say, I love the storytelling of people just going through. Why do I put this? I find it fascinating too sometimes. And I follow a bunch of people where we don't even share the same style. I follow them purely because they inspire me to get dressed and inspire me to put together outfits and think outside of the box a little bit. Yeah. Especially people that you can relate to somehow, whether that being, you know, someone who I don't know lives in the same city or country as you or just for me, could also be someone who also has small kids. So it's like, okay, if you can get dressed, then I can get dressed. You know, someone that you can almost use as kind of a mentor to get dressed. I really enjoy that.
Christina
Yeah, go ahead. Oh, oh. She was gonna say who are you?
Alyssa
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or who are you following? Oh, okay.
Sina
Okay. So I thought I follow a bunch of different people. Like when I say someone that I don't share the same style with at all, that could be someone like Megan Ellaby, who's. She's a Manchester based blogger and I've. I followed her for years. For, for many years. And I think it's, it's. I don't know how I came across her at the time either because we don't have the same style at all. I just really love her energy. And she's got two. Megan.
Christina
I found her. Yeah. Oh, I never heard of her.
Sina
She's got small kids as well. And yeah, I think I just really. I feel so drawn to her energy. She's always so energetic and very, very colorful style too, which I do find very inspiring. I'm not like, again, I don't dress as like a kaleidoscope or a rainbow of colors, but I do find it inspir. And I just, I'm just very fascinated by her way of putting together outfits and kind of like trying to get into her brain a little bit about, like, what the reason behind some of her outfits, because they are very creative compared to the way I dress. And I think that's. That's the amazing thing about fashion and style, that you can get inspiration from anywhere. It doesn't have to be someone that you necessarily one on one, relate to style wise, but maybe on another level.
Christina
Yeah, I think last episode we talked about. We talked about what the intent is, whether it be for shopping, but I feel like the intent going in with. Going into social media with intent is I think really, really helpful too, because it's so easy to get sucked into. You need this and the parasocial relationship and the comparison trap and all of that stuff. But I think if you're going into. I want to go in to see, to get inspiration. I want to go in and just be fascinated by what I'm seeing and what can I take from how this person dresses or from what they're doing and how can I apply it to my own closet? Not even in terms of recreating the outfit, but maybe it's a process or a color combination or a shoe or a shoe combo or something that you've never seen before or never thought about trying. I feel like I. It just makes the. I think it takes a lot of the Pressure off and makes it more fun and like gives you the ability to translate what you're seeing into your own. Into your own wardrobe, which is so much fun.
Sina
Yeah, definitely. Yeah. And I think generally when you're following people, you know. Yeah. Just exactly like you say, anyone who gives you good energy and doesn't trigger you in any way. For example, if you have, if you're a compulsive shopper, then you know, maybe reconsider who you're following and not follow people who make you think less of yourself or who make you want to shop more. But someone who can just like provide you with some sort of a positive experience. Energy or outlet or experience. Yeah, exactly. And then of course I follow Alison Bornstein as well because I just, I love her really practical, hands on styling tips. Lucy Williams is another one that I follow. I don't follow a lot of people on, on Tik Tok. I follow the Anna edit as well. And that's more. She's definitely more in terms of how I like dressing personally, we're more aligned there. But so, yeah, they're very different people actually. But they give me different, different things.
Alyssa
I. That's why, you know, I miss Pinterest. I miss the days when Pinterest had like current photos and not photos from like 2015. Because I find of like people wearing booties and white blazers and a scarf wrapped around their neck.
Sina
Yeah. Because I sometimes thought about that. I wonder if it's because of the short form video. Like the photos are slowly dying or at least right now they're at a very.
Christina
It's a funny like photos. Feel nostalgic now.
Alyssa
Like I love photos. Real outfits piss me the. Are we swear.
Christina
Yeah.
Alyssa
How am I supposed to see this?
Christina
I know. And they have to watch it like four times to screenshot.
Alyssa
I have to like do the thing with the. Press the pencil. Two buttons on my phone at the same time. That.
Christina
I'm sorry. Coordination.
Alyssa
Too much coordination. Pinterest come back. Be good again. Thank you.
Christina
Yeah, I feel like Pinterest is very hit and miss. Like I was on it the other day and I was. And it was just. Yeah, it was. The algorithm was not algorithm. That algorithm that day. But then I was on yesterday and it was great. It was really, really good. So I don't know. I don't know. Like, it's a very, very hit and miss.
Sina
And there are too many apps too.
Christina
Yeah.
Alyssa
So many ads. Yes. 100.
Sina
It's not the same.
Alyssa
Not the same. Pinterest come back.
Christina
But I find kind of the. The trick to Pinterest I'm learning is once you find, like, a photo that you like, you know when you click on it and then it goes down and it's like, more like this.
Alyssa
Yes.
Christina
Yeah. It's never off of the main. No, off of the main. Even off the initial search, it's like, yeah, yeah.
Sina
Or even from a board that you've already created, you can just click more ideas and it's definitely more curated.
Alyssa
Yeah, that's always a helpful step. Okay, what have I been. I've screwed.
Sina
Okay.
Alyssa
I've been taking pictures of all the leaves and the colors. I know it's, like, so trite, but, like, I find nature, my neighborhood is bananas for color and texture. And I just. I've taken so many photos of leaves. The ladies in my community, probably. I'm gonna post a whole bunch today. But, yeah, just fall. I know.
Christina
Yeah.
Alyssa
So dumb.
Sina
No, it's not dumb.
Alyssa
Latte.
Christina
Whatever. Own it. Own it, baby.
Alyssa
Own it. Like, really? Remember when blogs are always two words together? Like this and this? Like, that's how I feel right now. Anyway. Yeah, like. Like, look at what I posted the other day. Look, I'm so. No, I sound like, oh, yeah. But, like, it's just. I don't know. So I've been wearing a lot of. I've been trying to wear a lot of, like, browns and embrace, like, the browns. And even, like, I wore leggings the other day. I wore leggings and, like, a giant sweater sweater, and I wore my socks up over my leggings like a cool Gen Z. Oh, I love that. And I wore sneakers.
Christina
But it made your legs look shorter. How dare you.
Alyssa
That's right.
Christina
Oh, that was salty. Sorry.
Alyssa
No, that's great. I love that. That's why we're here.
Christina
I know.
Alyssa
No, but you're right. Was that. Did you post something recently or. Someone posted something recently about, like. Or maybe we talked about it where it was like, it doesn't matter if something cuts your legs off.
Christina
But I think that was our episode about flattering.
Alyssa
Okay. Yeah. Yeah, that was us. Yeah, that was us then. But, yeah, no, props to us. Yes. Because that was a good episode.
Sina
But.
Alyssa
Yeah, just fall, I think, because I'll be leaving it. So I'm feeling very, very nostalgic for Canada. I'm feeling, like, very. I. I also just started this episode by saying I'm inspired by Italy. So, like, this is the constant struggle in my head.
Christina
Like, Jeff and I have been watching all of the Daniel Craig James Bond movies lately. Just kind of speaking of how menswear is inspiring you, I'm like, yeah, James Bond, Daniel Craig style in all of those movies. Just. Just spot on. So good. So fire. That man can dress. But it's like the. Like the tailoring and the tuxedos. I'm, like, obsessed with the tuxedo scenes, you know, they're just so good. You know, James Bond and his tuxedo, it's like, classic. Every movie has one, you know, and. Yeah, so I think it's like the tailoring and the kind of that classic. It's modern, but it's classic at the same time. There's a certain. And it's just. It's hot. I love it. So it makes me kind of want to dress like that.
Alyssa
Cool. Do you have an occasion or, like, somewhere fancy that you have to go that you can maybe dress like that?
Christina
No, not really. But maybe I'll do it in a video just because I can, you know, why not?
Alyssa
Why not do it Recreated.
Christina
Recreated. James Bond outfit.
Alyssa
Inspired.
Sina
I actually. I finally watched through Sex and the City, like, the entire series. I've been watching it on and off for a couple of years. I still need to watch the final, final episode. But I think the thing that's been keeping me from watching is that I kind of know what happens because I've seen the films, so I haven't. I haven't gone around to watching that yet. But I finally. I think I finally get why people love it so much. Oh, I. I have such a. Yeah. I have such a slow start with it, and I think it took me a couple. At least a couple of seasons before I, like, catched on to it, and I didn't really understand why. What the fuss was about. But now, having watched through it all, it's, I think, also just the friendship bit, like the. The loyalty between them. And I know this is not necessarily anything to do with fashion and style.
Christina
But we're talking about, like, things we're loving right now.
Sina
Yeah, yeah, exactly. And there's a lot of fashion in there, too. Right. So which, you know, it's always fun to watch what they're wearing throughout that show.
Christina
So who do you resonate with the most in terms of the character?
Sina
I don't know. I've been trying because I remember people asked us when we were in Copenhagen.
Alyssa
Yes.
Sina
We had the.
Alyssa
Remember, we asked, and Sina was like, I've never seen it. And both Christina are like, what? How do we have that? Maybe that was more my reaction. Christina's so chill.
Sina
I Don't know. I feel like there's none of them that I really. 100%. I. Maybe Charlotte, because she's a little bit conservative and like very, you know, I like.
Christina
You know what, though? Charlotte is underrated because that woman has standards and boundaries. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like. I feel like a lot of people see her as this, like, man obsessed, love struck, traditional values must, like, check off certain milestones on the list. But. But she did not settle, you know, she like.
Sina
Yeah, she knows what she wants.
Christina
She knows what she wants.
Sina
Yeah, True.
Christina
And she made it more than any of them. Yeah. Besides like Samantha, I think more than any of them.
Sina
Yeah.
Alyssa
Great.
Christina
I feel like Charlotte is like the goal at the end, especially the way with like in, you know, the series, like in just like that Charlotte.
Sina
Yeah, that one. I haven't watched it.
Alyssa
I haven't been watching it. I haven't watched that.
Christina
Yeah, it's terrible. It's another hate watch.
Alyssa
Okay.
Sina
Kind of like Emily in Paris.
Christina
Yes, exactly.
Sina
So it's so bad you have to watch it.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Sina
Maybe that's my next thing for maternity leave. For all of the. When I'm nursing and I don't know what to do with myself. And maybe that's what I put on the tv.
Alyssa
I saw Mad Men came back on Netflix. That show was always really good for costuming.
Sina
Yeah, that's another one I never finished, but it was really good.
Christina
Yeah, I never finished it either, but it was. It was good.
Sina
Yeah.
Christina
Remember fan of Roger Sterling?
Alyssa
Yes. Again, the suiting, like that whole show launched. Launched an aesthetic. Like, remember Banana Republic came out with like a Mad Men collection? Like, it really changed the way guys wear their suits. It was like everything became super fitted and super tailored. And I liked that era. Can we please go back to that era? I'm sure, I mean, not in always. Look, it'll circle back. Yeah, just. Yeah, style.
Sina
Yeah. We're just talking about Pinterest. What do you. What are you guys pinning on Pinterest?
Christina
Definitely. Yeah, I'm pinning a lot of. Oh, this pin was. I like this one. Can you see it?
Alyssa
Wait, let's see.
Christina
It's like a sheer.
Sina
Oh, that's.
Alyssa
Oh, cute.
Sina
Sheer skirt with a oversized shirt.
Christina
Yeah. I love this look right now. I think it looks really, really cool.
Alyssa
It's happening.
Christina
Yeah. I'm obsessed.
Sina
I. I love when you find a look like that and you want to recreate it and you're just waiting for the, you know, okay, someone please take me out so I can wear this.
Christina
I'm pinning A lot of, like, loafer outfits, because I want to wear my loafers a little bit more before it gets too cold. Yeah, I really love them as an alternative to a sneaker. Like, I feel like with the way people are styling them right now, it's like where you would put a sneaker if you want, like, a comfortable flat shoe. A lot of people are doing a loafer. I'm seeing that a lot in the streets of Toronto, actually, right now, like, out. Out and about commuting and stuff. So I. I'm really, really liking that. But I feel like. Yeah, I feel like fall is loafer season. Like, I don't really want to wear a loafer in the winter. Well, I can't really in the winter when it's. Once it starts snowing here. And then in the spring, it just feels a little too wet. I don't know, so. And then the summer, it feels too heavy. Like you want open toe. So, yeah, I feel like fall is it. Even though a loafer, I mean, really, if you're used to wearing them, you can literally wear them all year. But it's just something I have in my mind that's cool.
Alyssa
I love that.
Sina
I mean, generally this year, I've been painting a lot of maternity outfits. Mostly just things that I would be able to wear. You know, things stretchier, things that I already have in my wardrobe, and, like, variations of wearing, but very minimal, too. Very pared back. And then lately, I've been kind of diving more into autumn fashion. So a lot of, you know, chocolate brown. I'm loving chocolate brown at the moment. Like, coats, boots, bags. I'm really on the lookout for, like, a chocolate brown bag ever since I saw that Dragon diffusion one that you have, Christina. I'm like, I can't get it out of my head.
Christina
Yeah, it's a. I love that color. I think brown is such an underrated. Like, it softens everything so nicely. Like, black is like what every. We all naturally think to pair of things with, but brown, I just. Yeah, it's great.
Sina
It's very. It's. It's really nice. Yeah, I love it. I know it's like a huge trend for this year, but really classic. It's something you can. And I wouldn't say even obviously during autumn, winter, that's where we feel drawn to it because of the probably surrounding nature and the leaves turning brown. But I think it's something you can wear all throughout the year.
Christina
Totally. 100.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Sina
Yeah.
Christina
Are there any colors you're gravitating towards? Alyssa.
Alyssa
Black.
Christina
Oh. Because she's going to drama.
Sina
It's a drama.
Alyssa
It's a drama. Nice.
Sina
Yeah.
Alyssa
Black and browns, I guess more browns because, like. Yeah, that big. I have a big brown sweater that I've been wearing a lot. My boots. I got those knee high. Over the. Over the knee boots. So I've been wearing those a lot. But love it with black.
Christina
So fab. So drama.
Alyssa
So trauma. Yeah, they're great.
Christina
Love.
Alyssa
I love an over the knee, but loafers. I. I was feeling like same as you. I was like, I'll go outside. And I'm like, oh, my God, there's no snow. We must wear something that is not a boot.
Christina
Yeah.
Sina
Before it's too late.
Alyssa
Before it's too late. Yeah. You know?
Sina
Yeah.
Christina
Because I feel like this season it's been so mild. I've barely worn a lot of my. Like, I've worn. I've been wearing sandals still.
Alyssa
Yeah, yeah. I saw that the other day. No, it's amazing. It was like, 20 degrees yesterday. It's silly, I know.
Christina
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's bananas. So I feel like I'm just starting to pull out a lot of the false shoes and boots and stuff that typically at this point you would wear. I don't know if that's a global warming thing, but it has been very mild here, too. It's been. It's been very, very mild.
Alyssa
Scary.
Sina
Yeah.
Alyssa
Yeah, Very scary.
Christina
Yeah. A Halloween. It was like, 25.
Alyssa
Yes. Like, so the one. This is what kids love. Okay. Because in Canada, normally when we grow up. I don't know if this was you, Christina, but, like, I had to wear a snowsuit under my. This is like the struggle of every Canadian kid. Like, you can't wear a Halloween costume unless it fits a giant snowsuit underneath. So it never looks good.
Christina
Yeah, yeah. You have to, like.
Sina
Yeah.
Christina
Your hollow. Your Halloween costume has to, like, revolve around your outerwear.
Sina
That's so cute.
Alyssa
Like, we were all. We're all, like, walking around, like. Yeah, my arms are, like, out to my sides. Like, imagine I'm wearing a giant snowsuit. But yeah. So, like, Halloween must have been really great if you were a kid yesterday.
Christina
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I went for a run yesterday before all the kids started trick or treating. And then on my way back, they were. They were all starting to kind of come out, and I'm like, oh, this is so cute. Because they could rock their full costume. And then the parents were all dressed up, too. It was fun.
Alyssa
I don't know, though. I'm not like I'm looking at my Pinterest. I don't. I don't pin or like that much. I find this stuff. I screenshot or pin. It's not. It's not. Yeah. It's not really outfits like the AI.
Christina
Algorithm we were talking about before. I don't know if we actually mentioned it in the episode, but how. If you. It was our episode about dupes. But when you type in something that you're looking for, if it's by a certain designer, then Google will serve you shoppable items that are similar that you didn't even know existed. And I almost think like, sometimes maybe the Pinterest algorithm puts you in this loop. So it's like if I like this one thing, then it knows. But I think it's nice. You don't always want to be in your vacuum of inspiration. I think there's always like that through line of what's inspiring you. But yesterday I found a girl that just kind of came up in my TikTok feed and she was styling.
Alyssa
An.
Christina
Issey Miyake like tunic scarf. And she styled it in like 20 different ways and like turned it into a dress and a shirt and a skirt and a top. And it was just. But it was like very, very sculptural and interesting and kind of nothing that I've ever seen before would think to try on myself, but. So it was kind of cool to see that kind of like just a different aspect of how. Of people's personal style, you know?
Sina
Yeah.
Christina
I don't know what my point was there, but.
Alyssa
Well, it was unique. Maybe like you felt like it was original. Yeah.
Christina
So let us know.
Alyssa
Inspired.
