At just 18 years old, Ava Calhoun is taking a microphone to college campuses and city streets to ask strangers a simple question: When do you think life begins? And remarkably, she’s actually changing minds. Several people who entered conversations with her holding pro-choice views have walked away persuaded of the pro-life position. In this episode, Ava joins me to break down what she’s learned from having face-to-face conversations about abortion: how to ask good questions, how to respond to the arguments she hears over and over, and how to remain calm and respectful when the person on the other side is hostile. We also talk about why curiosity can be more effective than trying to score a “gotcha,” how to handle questions you don’t know how to answer, and why Christians shouldn’t measure the success of a conversation solely by whether someone changes their mind on the spot. Then we put those strategies to the test by reacting to viral TikToks making some of today’s most common arguments for abortion—including claims that the Bible never condemns abortion, that life begins at first breath, and that Christians and pastors can be pro-choice.This is an especially important episode to share with teenagers and young adults. Ava demonstrates that you don’t need to be an expert or have a theology degree to make a difference. You can learn to think clearly, ask good questions, speak the truth with courage and gentleness—and maybe even change someone’s mind.To register for Share the Arrows: sharethearrows.com CODE ALISA15Teen Study for Another Gospel Student Edition: https://centerforbiblicalunity.breezechms.com/form/Childers-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:BRAVE BOOKSEntertainment that Engages the Imagination for Good. Why are young men and young women increasingly moving in different cultural and political directions? In this episode, Alisa sits down with Dr. Corey Miller, president of Ratio Christi, to discuss trends shaping higher education, the church, and Western culture. They explore the growing gender divide on college campuses, the rise of cultural apologetics, the role of empathy in persuasion, and why today's campus debates often become tomorrow's cultural norms. Dr. Miller also shares insights from decades of engaging students and faculty on university campuses, discussing topics such as worldview, morality, identity, and the challenges Christians face when engaging contemporary cultural issues.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:GOOD RANCHERSAmerican Meat DeliveredGo to https://go.goodranchers.com/alisa for more information.Use my code: ALISASEVEN WEEKS COFFEETaste the Coffee that is Saving Lives.Go to http://www.sevenweekscoffee.com/ for more information.Use my code: ALISAWE HEART NUTRITIONFrom Our Family to Yours, Whole Supplements for Every Age and Stage.Go to http://www.weheartnutrition.com for more information.Use my code: ALISA----------------------------------------------------------------------Booking: www.alisachilders.com/bookingTo help in your study of the Bible: www.logos.com/alisaTo Purchase the new CD, “Beauty from the Ash”, go to www.alisachilders.com/musicThere you can get the CD, backing tracks, string charts, rhythm charts and stems.Support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/alisachildersTo order “Another Gospel”: www.alisachilders.com/another-gospel/To order “Live Your Truth": www.alisachilders.com/live-your-truth-and-other-lies/To order “The Deconstruction of Christianity”: https://alisachilders.com/the-deconstruction-of-christianity/Potential Sponsors: https://alisachilders.com/sponsor-request-form/

In Part 2 of our series on equal protection for the preborn, Alisa sits down with Ginna Cross, co-CEO of Alliance Family Services, to hear the case for why equal protection should be pursued now—not later. Grounded in a deep conviction that Scripture demands equal justice for every human being made in God's image, Ginna argues that Christians should advocate for laws that protect preborn children the same way they protect every other innocent person.Together, Alisa and Jenna discuss:What "equal protection" actually meansWhy some pro-life leaders oppose equal protection legislationThe biblical case for equal protectionCommon objections, including concerns about criminalizing womenWhat happened behind the scenes with equal protection bills in Tennessee and other statesThe differences—and similarities—between the pro-life and abolition movementsWhy this debate matters for Christians who want to think biblically about justice, law, and the sanctity of human lifeWhether you agree with Scott Klusendorf's strategic concerns from Part 1 or with the arguments presented by Ginna Cross in this episode, this two-part series is designed to help you hear the strongest case from each perspective so you can think through one of the most significant debates in the pro-life movement today.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:A'DEL NATURAL COSMETICSElevate your skincare routine with A'del's toxin-free cosmetics. Equal protection for the preborn has become one of the biggest and most divisive debates in the pro-life movement. Everyone agrees abortion ends the life of an innocent human being. Everyone wants to see abortion end. The disagreement is over how Christians should get there. In this episode, Alisa sits down with pro-life apologist Scott Klusendorf for a thoughtful and friendly debate about whether pursuing equal protection legislation right now is the best path forward.Scott argues that while equal protection is the right destination, pushing for it today could actually undermine the pro-life movement and cost lives. Alisa, who supports equal protection, challenges his position while seeking to understand the strongest case against it.Topics include:What equal protection actually meansIncrementalism vs. abolitionShould women ever be prosecuted for abortion?Lessons from William Wilberforce and the abolition of slaveryWhy worldview—not just politics—is at the heart of the abortion debateWhether pursuing equal protection now is wise or prematureNext week, Ginna Cross joins the podcast to make the case for equal protection and explain why she believes it is the only consistent application of justice for the unborn.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:BRAVE BOOKSEntertainment that Engages the Imagination for Good. Charlie Kirk's assassination sparked an explosion of conspiracy theories. Many of those claims, amplified by Candace Owens, have accused eyewitnesses, Charlie's friends, and even TPUSA of participating in a massive cover-up.In this episode, Frank Turek responds directly.Frank was with Charlie the day he was murdered. He rode with him to the hospital. He has also become one of the primary targets of these accusations. We examine the biggest claims one by one:Was there really drone footage?Did Frank change his story about his cell phone?Did he perform CPR?What does credible eyewitness testimony actually look like? Why should Christians care about conspiracy theories? This conversation goes beyond one tragic event. It's about truth, evidence, discernment, and the biblical responsibility to reject slander, baseless accusations, and defend those who are being unjustly attacked.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:GOOD RANCHERSAmerican Meat DeliveredGo to https://go.goodranchers.com/alisa for more information.Use my code: ALISAALLIANCE FAMILY SERVICESAlliance Family Services is a Gospel-centered organization that relentlessly advocates forpreborn children, women, and families by providing exceptional reproductive healthcare, Biblical discipleship, and social support.Go to www.alliancefamilyservices.org for more informationFOUNDATION WORLDVIEWFoundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to thinkBiblically in a deceptive world. Was Phoebe the first female preacher? Was Junia an apostle? Can women preach, teach, or host Christian podcasts? These questions are fueling some of the biggest debates in evangelicalism today. In this episode, Denny Burk joins me to separate biblical complementarianism from the caricatures. We tackle the Al Mohler controversy, the real meaning of 1 Timothy 2, whether Phoebe preached Romans, whether Junia was an apostle, and how Christians should think about women in ministry without going beyond—or falling short of—what Scripture teaches.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:WE HEART NUTRITIONFrom Our Family to Yours, Whole Supplements for Every Age and Stage.Go to http://www.weheartnutrition.com for more information.Use my code: ALISAAMBASSADORS FOR BIBLICAL JUSTICEEquipping Christians to live out their faith with courage, conviction, and compassion - tackling today's cultural challenges through a distinctly biblical lens.Go to www.centerforbiblicalunity.com/ambassador for more information.Mention Alisa’s podcast on your application for 15% off your tuition.RANGE LEATHERAmerican-Made Craftsmanship from WyomingGo to www.rangeleather.com for more informationUse my code: ALISA----------------------------------------------------------------------Booking: www.alisachilders.com/bookingTo help in your study of the Bible: www.logos.com/alisaTo Purchase the new CD, “Beauty from the Ash”, go to www.alisachilders.com/musicThere you can get the CD, backing tracks, string charts, rhythm charts and stems.Support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/alisachildersTo order “Another Gospel”: www.alisachilders.com/another-gospel/To order “Live Your Truth": www.alisachilders.com/live-your-truth-and-other-lies/To order “The Deconstruction of Christianity”: https://alisachilders.com/the-deconstruction-of-christianity/Potential Sponsors: https://alisachilders.com/sponsor-request-form/

Is Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin a reliable guide for learning how to study the Bible? With more than 250,000 copies sold, Women of the Word has become one of the most widely recommended books on Bible study for Christian women. But does it offer a biblically sound approach to interpreting Scripture? In this episode, I take an in-depth look at Jen Wilkin's bestselling book, examining its central claims, evaluating its approach to hermeneutics, and comparing its teaching with biblical principles for handling God's Word.Along the way, we'll discuss:Why it's important to ask what a passage meant before asking what it means for us.The relationship between the mind, the heart, and spiritual transformation.Common mistakes Christians make when studying the Bible. Why context matters—and why Scripture must interpret Scripture. The difference between description and prescription in biblical narratives. How our view of the Bible shapes the way we read it.Practical principles that can help you grow in biblical literacy.I'll also share several of my own Bible study tips, recommend additional resources for going deeper, and explain why sound Bible study matters for every Christian.Whether you're just beginning to study the Bible or you've been reading it for years, this episode will challenge you to think more carefully about how we approach God's Word.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:FOUNDATION WORLDVIEWFoundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to thinkBiblically in a deceptive world. What do you do when you pray for healing...and God says yes? What do you do when He says not yet—or not in the way you hoped? In this episode, I sit down with Corley Spell, co-founder of Good Ranchers, to hear the remarkable story of her battle with melanoma. Diagnosed while pregnant with her fourth child, pressured to abort her baby, and later facing a life-threatening recurrence that left her bedridden, Corley shares how God met her in the darkest moments of her journey.Together, we wrestle with some of the hardest questions Christians ask:Does God still perform miracles today? Why does God heal some people but not others?Should Christians pray for physical healing? How do we trust God when the answer isn't what we hoped for? What does it look like to surrender completely to God's will while still believing Him for a miracle? This is not a formula for healing or a blueprint for medical decisions. Every cancer journey is different, and Corley repeatedly encourages listeners to work closely with qualified medical professionals and seek the Lord's wisdom for their own circumstances.Whether you're walking through cancer yourself, caring for someone who is, or simply wrestling with questions about suffering, faith, and God's sovereignty, I hope this conversation encourages you to trust the Lord—whatever His answer may be.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:RANGE LEATHERAmerican-Made Craftsmanship from WyomingGo to www.rangeleather.com for more informationUse my code: ALISAWE HEART NUTRITIONFrom Our Family to Yours, Whole Supplements for Every Age and Stage.Go to http://www.weheartnutrition.com for more information.Use my code: ALISAA'DEL NATURAL COSMETICSElevate your skincare routine with A'del's toxin-free cosmetics. AI is already shaping the way we search, learn, create, and even think. The question isn't whether Christians should engage with AI, it's how.In this conversation, Alisa sits down with Ryan Pauly to wrestle with questions like: Can AI think? Does it have a mind—or does it just process information? Why does it so confidently get things wrong? And how can Christians avoid letting technology shape their worldview instead of allowing Scripture to shape the way they use technology? They discuss:Why AI is never truly "neutral"The crucial difference between a mind and a machineHow technology quietly forms our habits and worldviewAI's tendency to hallucinate—and why that mattersBiblical principles for stewarding AI without becoming mastered by itPractical ways to use AI while protecting wisdom, discernment, and human flourishingWhether you're enthusiastic about AI or deeply skeptical, this conversation will help you think biblically about one of the most influential technologies of our time.-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:SEVEN WEEKS COFFEETaste the Coffee that is Saving Lives.Go to http://www.sevenweekscoffee.com/ for more information.Use my code: ALISAAMBASSADORS FOR BIBLICAL JUSTICEEquipping Christians to live out their faith with courage, conviction, and compassion - tackling today's cultural challenges through a distinctly biblical lens.Go to www.centerforbiblicalunity.com/ambassador for more information.Mention Alisa’s podcast on your application for 15% off your tuition.FOUNDATION WORLDVIEWFoundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to thinkBiblically in a deceptive world. What if the biggest threat behind today's alien obsession isn't extraterrestrial at all?Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day has people asking questions about God, creation, and whether discovering intelligent life would shatter the Christian worldview. But would it?In this episode, I review the film, respond to its biggest theological claims, explore what the Bible actually says about extraterrestrial life, and explain why the existence of aliens wouldn't undermine Christianity. Then, former occultist Jac Marino joins me to share her chilling story of what she once believed were alien encounters, including abduction experiences, channeling, and supernatural phenomena. Today, she believes those experiences were real, but not extraterrestrial.Could the modern fascination with UFOs and "the grays" be pointing to something far more spiritual? Join us as we separate biblical truth from speculation and examine one of today's most intriguing—and controversial—subjects.Order Jac's book: https://a.co/d/00V38q0P-----------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:WE HEART NUTRITIONFrom Our Family to Yours, Whole Supplements for Every Age and Stage.Go to http://www.weheartnutrition.com for more information.Use my code: ALISARANGE LEATHERAmerican-Made Craftsmanship from WyomingGo to www.rangeleather.com for more informationUse my code: ALISAGOOD RANCHERSAmerican Meat DeliveredGo to https://go.goodranchers.com/alisa for more information.Use my code: ALISAFOUNDATION WORLDVIEWFoundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to thinkBiblically in a deceptive world.
