Of the blondest podcast. Happy Monday.
A
Happy Monday. We just got back from a photo shoot. We can't talk about it because it was exciting new product launches that are coming soon. But you guys will see everything very soon. Just maybe like a week after this podcast comes out.
B
Exactly. And yesterday, Tyler and I recorded our first co hosted webinar which was so exciting on business and best practice and just how we really run everything behind the scenes at SBA to be a profitable med spa and have good employee retention. All of our policies, just everything we do under the business umbrella. So you guys are interested in that. It is available to be purchased on our website underneath. How do they get there?
A
If you go on shop.savannahbetta.com, there's a whole tab called Education. It's on the main website too. And when you click on Education, it'll bring you to all of the webinars that Savannah has done. So you'll be able to see it there. Yep. We've done acne, pigmentation, consultations, branding, and now business. So we've got a plethora.
B
I know. And if you guys have any suggestions for what you want, let us know because we really, we cater them to what estheticians and other business owners are wanting to hear. So you just tell us and we'll make it happen.
A
Absolutely. So today we're gonna be doing a little Q and A. Um, as Savannah said, we like to give you guys what you want to hear. So let's get started. Um, first question. KP on toddlers.
B
So toddlers is tricky cause you don't want to use like active ingredients. So what I would say is using the baby wash from Scene first and foremost as a body wash. And then you'd want to use highest and active. And sieve. Sieve is going to be the one that really makes a big difference. For all skin barrier disruptions, kp, psoriasis, eczema rosacea, fungal acne. And it's safe for infants and toddlers. So if your baby has cradle cap or if they have. Which you don't know what cradle cap is, it's basically like dryness on their head.
A
And then I have that now.
B
Yeah. And then if you have flaky scalp, it'll be great for that too. And then baby acne, so. And diaper rash, you can use it literally. You can use SIV on anything.
A
It's like the heal all for infants.
B
It really is.
A
What's your favorite thing about aerial lace?
B
That it has no downtime and it's so powerful. I think that's like such a big thing is like it's shocking how you can really change the skin without compromising
A
the skin barrier and that you can use it on all skin tones, postpartum, moles or bumps. Question mark. Question mark. I didn't know it was a thing, but here I am. I don't know if we have anything for moles.
B
Probably not a mole. Probably some sort of skin growth or lesion. I would need to see pictures.
A
Yeah. Can you share how you display set up your at home skincare? My bathroom counter is a mess.
B
I like the tiered things that you can get on Amazon which we can link in this podcast episode. There's so many really cute ones, but I like the spinning ones. I like the ones that are like stacked. There's so many ways to organize it so it looks better and less cluttered.
A
Tips on hiring great people. Finding good employees is so hard.
B
Well, funny enough, our webinar that we just recorded covered all of that in our hiring process. But what I've always said is hiring people for character and not really skill. You can teach pretty much any job. We're not, you know, doing brain surgery so they don't have to have experience in what job they're doing. You just have to have people that are willing to learn, capable of learning and like are really good human beings that reflect the morals and the values and ethics of your business.
A
After the first year of using plated on breast lift scars, do you recommend to continue using it?
B
I would. It's not going to hurt. And then I'd also start doing peel pads on it for any discoloration.
A
What to use for brown spots on my face?
B
Heel pads and vivid brightening serum. That one is one of the best serums because it's pigment inhibitor with hyaluronic acid. So it's being driven deeper down into the skin and it also has an ingredient that lowers skin temperature. So you're also helping with like any kind of heat related pigment flares.
A
How do you feel about at home microneedling kits? I keep seeing them online.
B
Getting HIV or staph
A
kind of scary. I would leave microneedling too in the treatment room personally. How do you process slash move forward as a professional when treatments go quote unquote wrong?
B
Learn from it. I think the biggest thing you can do is learn and grow from it and see and digest and dissect what went wrong and why so it doesn't happen again.
A
What helps with acne on the neck,
B
chest and back so the Corrected body trio on our website is my favorite thing. It's a perfect body wash and it also has the refining. I want to say you're finding foam cleanser but it's the refining body scrub and the perfect body lotion. No, Refining body lotion. Dude, I can't think today.
A
Refining perfect body wash. Refining body scrub. Refining body hand and body lotion.
B
Yes, that. And then I would even go a step further if it's really severe and do peel pads four to five times a week on the body and alpha body instead of the refining body lotion lotion.
A
There's too many.
B
Oh my God. Or you could use refining body lotion in the morning and then alpharett at night and then you'd add those peel pads in as like a leave on product at night and then in the morning either the 11 mandelic or the 15. And if you're super dry, Encore is great. Encore body hydrator.
A
Divorcing. After a 10 plus year relationship, how can I get my confidence up?
B
I feel ugly, it's hard and it's going to take time to get that confidence back. Daily movement is big. Not even because you'll see changes in your body but you'll just feel like better about yourself by like doing something physical. I would all. And being in the sun too and getting some vitamin D, like taking a walk outside like it's just so good for your mental health. Peptides. Get on peptides. I freaking love peptides. I love BPC 157 for inflammation. It just helps you look less puffy and especially when you're going through stress and a divorce and like emotional turmoil, you're gonna have high cortisol levels and you're gonna be inflamed and you're gonna look stressed. So that's gonna be great. And then the GHKCU is another one that I love. It's like the beauty peptide and it just gives your skin like the best glow. So both of those you can get. Actually we have a link. Is it on our website too, our peptide program? It should.
A
Yeah. Peptides. It's on our website. Or if you're like on your phone and it's easier in the link in her bio it'll say lemd or lamd.com Savannah that way you can get them there.
B
So yeah I would do that and then I would start doing carboxy facials at home. The CO2 mask like once a week for three weeks and then once a month trying to think self help books honestly, turning to God it's also been so helpful for me. Get your hair blown out, get your nails done, just anything you can do to like just feel yourself again.
A
Can you talk about doing microneedling with a chemical peel? I'm so curious about it and have seen so many mixed opinions.
B
If you're qualified, competent and. Prepping the skin, it's fine. I personally have a really specific patient pool that I will do this treatment on and everyone's super pre treated and I make them do like chemical peels and microneedling by themselves multiple times before I combine them. But yeah, if you're going a lower depth of microneedling you can totally do a TCA peel on top. A low level tca.
A
Best skincare products for tweens that are struggling with a bit of acne on their cheeks.
B
Face reality, it's affordable, it's easy. Get a mon Mandelic serum, get them on a good moisturizer, sunscreen and hydrating serum and low level BPO at night. The acne med 2.5.
A
What is a tween like 11 to.
B
Yeah, 12.
A
What to use for forehead, little bumps. Literally all my skin is fine except
B
that idealic cleanser was amazing for that. And then Ondo lipid serum and the oxygen depot mask a couple times a week.
A
What products do you recommend for gray or graying hair?
B
You talk about it.
A
I would recommend. Well, I think the hero of the show is going to be the plated hair serum because it has a ingredient called gray burst.
B
I'm so proud that you know this of course.
A
And so it has literally shown to reverse the graying of hair which is pretty self explanatory from gray verse. But yeah, I mean not only is it going to reverse that graying but if you are starting to notice any hair thinning or hair loss especially I know a lot of women. Where do they get it? Like right here. Like they get thin. What is that part of your head called? I don't know. If you're watching the video you can see but I don't know what that's called. I don't know but I feel like that's so many of the before and afters that people send you. That's the area that they show.
B
Yeah, hair parts or something.
A
So yeah, I mean postpartum hair loss, hair loss for men who are balding. I mean we have seen so many amazing results with that product. What else can I use to hydrate besides lip and lipid serum that's more cost effective. I don't even know if you would classify lipid serum as being someone's sole hydration?
B
No, it's more for inflammation. And also when you think about it it does last about nine months if you're using a pea sized amount morning and night. But really it's a, it's like a chunk up front but then you're not like repurchasing it.
A
I feel like that product is the one that lasts me the longest like out any products we carry.
B
It's never ending. I like feel like there's like a little like lipid elf that comes at night and like refill my bottle while I'm sleeping. I'm like everything I have to restock on so fast. Except that like that's like the one that I'm like. She good?
A
Yeah. No, exactly. But cost more cost effective for hydration.
B
Either hydra remedy or hydrobalance is like the most affordable hydrating product that we have. Hydro balance for more like normal to oily skin and then hydro remedy for more sensitive, inflamed and dry skin.
A
What do you think about cryofacials?
B
Well, there's everyone. It's just hard to like classify what a cryofacial is because people call someone could literally get like Amazon cold gloves be like this is a cryofacial. It's like a traditional cryofacial. Awesome glacial what we use even better because it's that controlled cooling mechanism so it stays cold the whole time and it doesn't like adjust to your skin's heat or like get hot because your skin's warm. So yeah, I love cold therapy.
A
Would you ever become more of an influencer or a youtuber?
B
No.
A
Can I alternate alpha clearing serum one night and acne med the next night and so on?
B
You could if you're super sensitive but you should be able to use them back to back like our secret sauce to clearing acne. Oh Brian, by the way, that's a bundle I wanted to put on the website but do og alpharette how long
A
post op to start neoli on scars
B
when you get your stitches out and get cleared. Every doctor has different preferences but I'd say about four to six weeks.
A
How did you know you were ready for a relationship after divorce?
B
I don't think you ever know happens. I think like for me like I was like so love deprived because like I wasn't in like a romantic relationship for so many years. It was just like legally binded that I was with this person. But like we didn't have like a husband wife relationship for years so that's why I think people are so confused, because they're like, oh, you need more time to, like, heal and, like, process. But it's like, I think for women, like, you're way emotionally out of things before you physically do something about it, like, legally, you know. So, yeah, I think that it just, like, happens when you meet someone. And it's funny because it was like, I was, like, so wanting to meet somebody, and then I did, and it's great and all, but then there's part of me. It's like, damn, I should have probably been single for, like, a little bit longer. But I think that's kind of life. It's just like, you want what you don't have. And if I was single, I'd be, like, wanting to be in a relationship. So I don't know. I don't really know. I think you just do it and, like, figure it out along the way. I don't think there's, like, really a right answer. There's not a right answer. You just.
A
And if you figure it out, let us know.
B
I will.
A
Thoughts on Alex Earl's acne line?
B
Good for her. Get that going, girl. I won't buy it.
A
Yeah. I mean, yeah.
B
No, I mean, I think the only, like, annoying thing is she just kind of, like, copied reality and, like, all the other people that are, like. Which a lot of people have followed, which is actually. The lore goes so deep. It's like, it wasn't originally really faced reality. It was like James Fulton and then, like, it's either Vivan or Vavant. Something like that. Them. Okay. And face reality. Then. Oh, there's like, Mixie and Sophie Pavitt and all of them kind of, like. Because, like, it was Mandelic. Acid was like. But I will say Faciality is the brand that put Mandelic on the map.
A
Yeah.
B
And so then, like, everyone's just doing Mandelic, so probably not, like, the worst products, but I think acne is so much more than just products. It's coaching. And then I don't love that. Like, we know she was using Faciality and Vivian products, and, like, she was seeing an esthetician who's a faciality acne expert. And, like, she was on Accutane and she did all these procedures. So I just feel like the way she's marketing it isn't very clear or ethical.
A
Yeah. So it's like, this cleared my skin.
B
Not really the products I have an issue with. It's like, the predatory marketing. And, like.
A
Yeah.
B
She could have, like, brought up brands that like, really did help her with her skin instead of like, oh, I used my line, which, like, no, you didn't. Yeah, we know you didn't. Like, I mean, but that's just the name of the game. Like, Kim Kardashian doesn't use skin by Kim.
A
You know, definitely not.
B
Like, all these celebrities don't use their shit. They just want you to think that they do. But they're all have dermatologists and plastic surgeons and estheticians and are getting expensive treatments done and using expensive skincare and then trying to convince you that if you use their two products, your skin will look like theirs. And that's just like, to me, really icky.
A
No. Yeah. Like, some of these people, like the most insane thing, like they'll contact these companies and like have device that they buy the devices to have in home and like call people to come to their home and like, they have like a whole med spa at home and like, that's how accessible it is for them.
B
So like, like, literally two doors down from their bedroom is a hydrafacial machine.
A
Yeah.
B
Or an emsculpt.
A
Mm. What's a good vitamin C you recommend?
B
Alto Advanced is my favorite beat out C ferulic from Skinceuticals and also it fights internal and external free radicals, so I think that's just amazing.
A
What to pair with clearing serum and maestro.
B
For what? Alto Advanced. Yeah, those are doing those two great together.
A
11 months postpartum and the acne will not stop Help.
B
Okay, so first and foremost, book a consult with us so we can help you. And then also I would say it's so important to get on the clear skin supplements on our website, get on glutathione, ice your face twice a day, and then start using clearing serum, acne med 2.5 and mandelic 5% in the morning. And then also lipid serum to help with inflammation and regulating everything.
A
Flex or oxygen for foundation. Acne prone but not broken out or oily.
B
So I don't like flex for acne prone skin. I'm not gonna lie. There's like a small percent of people that do great on it, but it's not worth the gamble for me. So I really, if someone's acne prone, I don't have them on it. I get clogged pores from it. Tyler gets clogged pores from it. Pretty much every client, like, if they're using flex and I'm like, they're still getting clogged pores. It's Flex. It's not going to give you acne, but it's going to cause congestion. So that's what I don't love about it because of the starch. And, like, it sucks because it is, like, the most fucking beautiful sunscreen. Like, it honestly looks better than tonesmart. It is, like, the best sunscreen, I think, tinted wise. Do you not?
A
I don't really. I think maybe because I have enlarged pores, but I don't like the way it sits on my skin.
B
Well, it doesn't have, like, the blurring pore technology.
A
Yeah.
B
So if you're someone with large pores, you would want tonesmart and Redness. But I think Flex has more of, like, a makeup look.
A
I think Flex, definitely. Like, I'll use Flex sometimes, which I shouldn't, but, like.
B
Or more coverage.
A
Yeah. If I have, like, a pimple or something. ToneSmart is a little too sheer to, like, truly cover it up.
B
So tonesmart like, perfects your skin.
A
Yeah. It makes you look airbrushed.
B
Like, airbrushed. Yeah. So, yeah, no, I wouldn't. I would say, like, for coverage, though, Wise, definitely Flex is more of, like, a makeup look, but definitely for you if you're acne prone. Oxygenetics is acne safe. If you do the oil control version, it's acne fighting. So. Yeah.
A
What's a good wash for down there?
B
For the puss?
A
Yeah.
B
I like cleansing gel on her. Sometimes a little refining foam. Not like. And I'm talking like. Okay, we're watching the video. I need you to be my labia. Maybe go in. Because I'm like, the vagina. This is the top of it. Okay. And then you're like the meat. Okay. So, like, if I'm talking, like, this is where the hair grows. Right. Right here. So I'd be in some anatomies. Sometimes they're tucked. No, it's.
A
You would know better than. Yeah, you would know better than. I.
B
So, like, if this is the hair of the vagina, sometimes we're finding foam here. Even a little detox scrub. Because that's where I shave. Right. But if we're talking, like, flappers, please. Cleansing gel.
A
Okay. Fair.
B
I think that was. Yeah, I think people know what I mean.
A
I. Yes. Best products for redness.
B
Maestro. Either revive or balance. And that's the thing. People get confused because they're like, what's the difference which one's better for redness? They're both amazing for redness. The only reason you'd want to go revive is if you have hormonal skin issues, like pre menopause. Menopause, postmenopausal skin endometriosis, pcos, period breakouts, pregnancy, post pregnancy, anything hormone related. Calm is amazing. From plated. The calm serum, it's the same as intense, Just has calming ingredients. And CBD mist. It's the best for redness, too.
A
Do you like warm towels with facials?
B
I don't really like towels. I'm more of, like, an SD wipe. Girly pop,
A
what's your best advice for imposter syndrome? First year SD here. I feel like it's like you just
B
grow out of it. Eventually. You just know you're the you that.
A
Yeah, especially she's in her first year. I'm like, I feel like you fake it till you make it.
B
You fake it till you make it. Dude, I used to turn the music on loud and put, like. Be like, I'm gonna give you, like, a little lavender eye patch. I'd be, like, flipping through the book of, like, protocols, like, the first year, for sure. I'd be like. Like, I didn't know I had. I didn't have everything memorized. I didn't remember everything. So, like, I would literally cover their eyes, turn music on as loud as I could so I could flip through my papers to look something up without them knowing.
A
I love that. What do you use to maintain your spa linen so bright and white?
B
Bleach.
A
Yeah, yeah, we use, like, a bleach detergent.
B
Will you be bleaching them? Yep. I'm trying to order Cyrus getting his tonsils out, and you want to get
A
him, like, a little basket.
B
Laurel Piano has a cuddly cashmere thing.
A
Jesus Christ.
B
For 700. That's like, the worst. Is, like, you know, my algorithm.
A
That's what I was about to say
B
when you type in Build a Bear and it's the Laura Piano, I wouldn't buy that. Don't judge me. She wouldn't, but I think I'm gonna get him a little.
A
I'd shut her card off. What are your thoughts on Zo?
B
They just don't share the same philosophy of skin than I do. I think you can get amazing results without exfoliating the skin too much and breaking it down as much as they do. Yeah, I think it's a very 90s approach, and I respect them for it because they do get great results. But I think at what cost?
A
Yeah, I think the thing that I notice. And this is not Savannah's opinion, this is my opinion. When I see a lot of their results, the afters from their clients are always. They look so inflamed their skin barrier. Looks like. Like, you know what? It may have corrected the issue they had at the time. But did it create. Yeah. Did it create a new issue?
B
Yeah. It's kind of like when you go to therapy and they, like, make you talk about, like, all your trauma from the beginning, and it almost like you feel worse when you leave, and it's like, maybe there could have been a better way.
A
So pie help.
B
I think the quality of builder bear has gone downhill because these used to be, like, really nice when I got. When I had them.
A
Or were we just dumb 8 years old?
B
I think they. I think the quality's gone down.
A
Okay.
B
Just like Abercrombie. It's not bad, but it's not like Abercrombie used to be so expensive, remember? And Hollister used to be pricier, and it was nicer quality.
A
So pie help on the chest and back.
B
I would use the corrected body trio. The spotted pig is so cute. He wouldn't like it, but I like it. Look at that.
A
That is cute. You wouldn't like it.
B
I need to go to Build a bear. Is there a Build a Bear over here?
A
No. Is there?
B
Thanks, Ryan. That's where I should be sending you right now. Oh, my God. They have a dragon from how to Train youn Dragon. I have to get that. That's so cute. Because he's into dragons right now. Don't you think we should make a military camo dragon? He'd love that.
A
You know, that would be the best of all both worlds. I think your best bet is probably Grapevine Mills on the way home.
B
I want to go to Grapevine Mills. Don't make me go to Grapevine Mills. No, don't make me go to the gallery.
A
I don't know what's worse.
B
It's so scary.
A
Grapevine. I would. I think I would honestly take Grapevine Melissa over the Galleria. I hate the galleria.
B
Yeah, I'm gonna send you. Will you look online for me, though? When you choose, you click choose a furry friend, and then you find where they have him. I'm thinking the dragon from how to Train your Drag. You know, mom life. Guys, at least I still have the podcast going. Okay. I've never. Well, I actually have missed week, but the show's gone on without me.
A
I feel like AMPRA is breaking me out. Is it not acne safe?
B
It is acne safe.
A
I will say that I have used it daily since they sent lab samples to us, and I am the most acne prone you'll ever Meet in your entire life for cursing. You're cursing all the time.
B
I don't curse.
A
Oh, I've never cussed. I want them to create this clip and then play every time you've cussed.
B
I've never cussed on the podcast,
A
but yeah, I'm extremely acne prone and I haven't broken out, so it may not be that. Have you washed your pillowcase? Are you using a new shampoo? I don't think. I really, really, really don't think. It's ampra.
B
Looks like you.
A
Am I bald? That's the craziest thing you've ever seen.
B
Can they show him up close?
A
Look at him.
B
He's so cute. Do you see him?
A
She said that looks like me. Ordered idyllic and some other things. Hormonal, fungal, acne. Comedones S. SC living. That's what I'm wondering. I don't know. That's what I was trying to figure out.
B
South Carolina for sure.
A
Okay. Does that create, like, hormone imbalance? That's where I'm like. I was.
B
I was trying to do maestro revive.
A
Mm.
B
Sulfur mask. Reorder it. Hopefully it'll be back soon. Right?
A
Gosh, I'm like, I love glymed to death. I love so many of their products, but they know how much sulfur mask we go through, and they are constantly out of stock. Like, if we're begging you every two months when you go out of stock, like, let's place a minimum order of like 10,000, 20,000 units.
B
I want a little girl. Look at this capybara. It's pink. You see it?
A
Oh, turn. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's better. Yeah, you can see that. So that was my public petition for glyma to order more Mattifyings. Did you look at the dragon?
B
They have it.
A
Call them 6 weeks on GHKCU. Skin is super dry. Trio is not helping.
B
Trio Lux. I raise you one. And why, Tyler?
A
Because it is heavier moisture moisturizer.
B
More ingredients.
A
Yeah. More emollients. It's has. It's was created for people who said that Trio was not enough help with hypertrophic scarring. Any creams?
B
Opera.
A
If you can choose one product to really brighten up the skin and fade. Pih. Melasma.
B
I would say even intensive.
A
Okay, I think we'll do one more question. Ordering clearing serum. How should I start to limit the purge?
B
Ice your face. Cbd Hydrotherapy mask. So simple up here. Put it on. I was like, using sulfur. I was using everything. Put that on. 10 minutes it was gone.
A
I need to get that.
B
I'm saying I don't.
A
I don't have that one.
B
And it's so hydrating, too. We love it.
A
Okay, y'. All. Well, that's it for this episode. I wasn't done. Oh. I said one more episode.
B
No, but I wasn't done with that. Oh. Take the supplements.
A
Clear skin supplements. Face reality.
B
Ice your face.
A
Ice your face.
B
Lipid serum.
A
Lipid serum.
B
Also the inflammation and then the CBD hydrotherapy mask. Now you can end.
A
Okay, thank you guys for being here for another episode. Happy Monday. We hope you have a wonderful rest of your week, and we will see you next time.
B
Pray for Cyrus and his little surgery.
