Jesus appeared to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in 17th-century France, revealing his heart and lamenting indifference and ingratitude from humanity. He offered 12 promises to those devoted to his Sacred Heart and asked for a great feast in his honor. Emily noted that the consecration is not a nostalgic gesture but a forward-looking act of faith over fear, inviting new graces for a new era.
