Ed Van Buskirk — founder and president of If You Love Me, a Catholic apostolate dedicated to restoring God's truth and the timeless wisdom of the Ten Commandments — continues his weekly series on the Catholic Morning Show with a focus on the Sixth Commandment: You shall not commit adultery.

Ed reflects on how deeply intertwined the Sixth Commandment is with last week's discussion of the Fifth — both speak to the profound gift of the human body as sacred and life-giving. He draws on Saint John Paul II's landmark teaching from the Theology of the Body, noting that as a culture, we haven't made too much of sex — we've made far too little of it, reducing something glorious to something disposable. Using a vivid analogy of a Stradivarius violin being used as a drum, Ed illustrates the damage done when God's gift is misused and the joy that is reclaimed when it is honored.

Ed also addresses the universal scope of this commandment — it applies not only to married individuals but to every person — and how properly ordering relationships, from friendship through courtship to marriage, resolves many of the struggles people face today. Alexia Baker joins the conversation to ask how parents can pass on these teachings to children. Ed emphasizes starting early, focusing on the glory and holiness of the body rather than leading with prohibition, and building an ongoing, open dialogue so children feel safe coming to their parents with questions as they grow.
