Welcome to the daily blade. The word of God is described as the sword of the spirit, the primary spiritual weapon in the Christian's armor against the forces of evil. Your hosts are Joby Martin and Kyle Thompson, and they stand ready to equip men for the fight. Let's sharpen up.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day. And having done all to stand firm. Stand. Therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and as for shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace, and in all circumstances take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. We are here to equip men, to push back darkness. We are in a spiritual dark battle. We are told that we have an enemy who is a thief that only wants to steal, kill and destroy. Well, how do you do that? Well, the primary offensive weapon in the arsenal of the believer is the word of God called the sword of the spirit. And that's what we are here to do daily. We are going to sharpen the blade and in order for us to be able to parry the oncoming attacks in addition to our shield of faith, and be ready to. To have a surgical strike not against people, not against flesh and blood, but against the enemy, the devil of hell himself. Then we have to take up the sword of the spirit. The sword of the spirit is the word of God. And the word of God is powerful and effective. The word of God is living and active. The word of God can do things in our life that nothing else can do. In fact, we live in a world that constantly bombards us with lies. People spend billions of dollars a day to get us to buy into something that's not true. Men, you will be ill equipped to stand in this world. You will be ill equipped to stand for your family. You will be ill equipped to stand for your church, for your country, for your community. If you don't know the word of God. My hope and prayer, as we spend a few minutes every day together during the week is that you would abide in God's word and he would abide in you. The Bible says in Psalm 19:7 this the law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul, the testimony of the Lord is sure that the Bible, the revealed, inspired word of God, preserved for us over the centuries and available to us today in a language that we can understand, in a translation that we can comprehend. It's the only perfect thing that exists on the earth. Everything else is imperfect, but the law of the Lord is perfect. And the one thing that I want you to know is that the law of the Lord is sure. In other words, you can trust the Bible because the Bible is true. I hope you tune in every single day and we're going to spend a few minutes talking about a few verses. Sometimes longer passages, sometimes shorter. But what I want you to be able to do is to trust God's word because it is true and it is trustworthy.
