Shane
The wedding song. So we hope you guys enjoy do a little singing with us.
E (Spurgeon reader)
Yeah.
Kyle Thompson
If you need the lyrics, they're there for you. Just sing this simple chorus. 10,000 strong, you're the fairest of all. Here we go.
E (Spurgeon reader)
10,000 strong, YOU'RE the fairest of all. Fairest in heaven and earth of the children of men, you're the fairest of them Fairest in heaven and earth. 10,000 strong, you're the fairest Fairest in heaven and earth of the children of men, you're the fairest of them Fairest in heaven and earth.
Kyle Thompson
There was a time when my Lucy, who's now about to turn 15, she was like three, maybe two. She, she. She came out like Rapunzel. She did like a whole bunch of blonde hair that was just all of a sudden, you know, down, down to her knees. And it seemed like it was just like, boom, like a year, you know, so she was like maybe two and a half and these bright blue eyes and she was starting to get a couple freckles on the nose. I mean, it just was like, you are the most perfect. And there was a season, I'm talking a long season where every time I came home and when. I mean, when I come home, I'm not talking just like from the airport, you know, gone for two days. I mean, every time I opened the back door, went to the gas station, came back, she was. She had her ear tuned to that back door. And I would open the back door and she would kind of sprint around. You know, we had this little. Little kind of ghetto foyer thing. And she would sprint around, her hair would go to the side and she would just form tackle me, you know, and she would. I would bend down and she would grab my face and. And she would look at me and she would say, you're a beautiful man.
E (Spurgeon reader)
And you came for me.
Kyle Thompson
And I'll never forget that. I mean, it was a good season of that of like, you are the most beautiful man and you came for me. And that's what I Feel about when I feel. When I sing this song is. There is a. There is a song that was written a long time ago to be a love song to the king. It's actually literally a wedding song to the king. That's what it says in the header. And this.
E (Spurgeon reader)
If you.
Kyle Thompson
If you just read all of song. Going to read a little bit of it, but if you read all of it, there's no human king that can. That can measure up to this description. And so it's just so neat. And then E's gonna read some Spurgeon, which is gonna. It's gonna. It's gonna be really good. And so let me just start by psalm reading. Psalm 45, the first two verses. My heart overflows with a pleasing theme. I address my verses to the king. My tongue is like a pen of a ready scribe. You are the most handsome of the sons of men. Grace is poured upon your lips. Therefore God has blessed you forever.
Joby Martin
Oh, man.
Shane
Oh, man. All right. We're. We're. As. We're talking about wedding kind of stuff. I mean, so you got to go. And yesterday I was reading. I have. I do a Charles Spurgeon thing, and. And yesterday we were in Song of Solomon, and it says the verse is song of Solomon, 5, 13. And it's. His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet as flowers. And then he just writes this thing. I'm just going to read it.
Kyle Thompson
Yep, just read it.
Shane
I'm just going to read it.
Kyle Thompson
You just read it. And we were all kind of messed up.
Shane
Yeah. I kind of started crying again. Yeah. Anyway. But we long for our hearts to be affectionate for the Lord in this way.
Kyle Thompson
So.
Shane
Let this sink in, O Lord Jesus, I will find my dearest delight in praising thee. Those cheeks were furrowed by the plough of grief and crimsoned with red lines of blood from thy thorn crowned temples. Such marks of love unbounded cannot but charm my soul far more than pillars of perfume. If I may not see the whole of his face, I would behold his cheeks, for the least glimpse of him is exceedingly refreshing to my spiritual sense and yields a variety of delights. In Jesus, I find not only fragrance, but a bed of spices, not one flower, but all manner of sweet flowers. He is to me my rose and my lily, my heart's ease and my cluster of camphor. When he is with me, it is melting all year round. And my soul goes forth to wash her face in the morning dew of his grace and to solace herself with the singing of the birds of his promises. Precious Lord Jesus, let me in very deed know the blessedness which dwells in abiding, unbroken fellowship with thee. I am a poor worthless one whose cheek thou has designed to kiss. Oh, let me kiss you in return with the kisses of my lips.
Kyle Thompson
Sing together. My heart bursts at its banks, My.
E (Spurgeon reader)
Heart bursts at its sphinx, Spilling with beauty and goodness. I pour it out as a song to my king, shaping the rivers into words. What grace pours from your lips. The sound calls the midnight to morning. The melody turns my winter to spring. I echoing now in my world wor. I echoing now in my wor. 10,000 strong, you're the fairest of all, fairest in heaven and earth. Of the children of many, you're the fairest of them, fairest in heaven and earth. Your heart bursts at the se flowing with blood and with water. A song of love pouring out from the trees, singing for the joy set before me. For the joy set before.
Kyle Thompson
Me.
E (Spurgeon reader)
10,000 strong, you're the fairest of all, fairest in heaven and earth, of the children of many, of the fairest of them, fairest in heaven and earth. You ransomed your bride on the day that you died. Ascended to heaven in glory, she stands clothed in wide with her head lifted high, singing come and return in your glory. You ransomed your bride on the day that you died. Ascend into heaven in glory we stand, clothed and wide, with our voice lifted high, singing come and return in your glory. Foreign 10,000 strong, you're the fairest of all, fairest in heaven that do of.
Shane
The children of men.
E (Spurgeon reader)
You're the fairest of them, fairest in heaven and earth.
Kyle Thompson
We say that you are worthy of all of our praise. You, O most glorious one, King of heaven, King of earth, Creator of all things, the one in whom all things were created, the one who loves us and gave himself for us. King Jesus, we sing a love song to you today for your worth. And I pray that your value would be known in our lives. Your worth, your worthiness would be felt and known in our lives. Use this time of singing when we come together to fan our affection for you, for all others, Lord, are a waste. And so I pray that you would pour water today on that seed of faith in our friends out and about today, our brothers and sisters, and that it would grow into a song of love for you. And we pray this in no ordinary name, but the name that's above every name in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Thanks for singing, guys.
Shane
Come on.
Kyle Thompson
Brother, sister, friend. Thank you. So much for joining us today. He came for you, you know. The beautiful man came for you, and you can sing that beautiful song to him over and over again. Maybe rewind it, maybe send it to somebody who needs to sing a song to Jesus today. But nonetheless, we just ask that you would bring that beautiful singing voice back tomorrow.
E (Spurgeon reader)
Yeah.
Kyle Thompson
And we're going to see what God does in our hearts. Have an awesome day of worship.
