This week we're digging into the scripture reading from five different days from a resource that I made called the 31 Day Resilience Reset. So it's a free resource that I made for guys that feel like stuck or just drifting because the reality is that we never get anywhere by accident. We get there on purpose. And I want you guys to be the best possible versions of yourselves. So you can check out the 31 day resilience reset at Undaunted Life 31 days so let's go ahead and get into the reading for day seven of the 31 day resilience reset, which is from Psalm 24 and Proverbs 7. So I'll start in Psalm 24:1. The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof the world and those who dwell therein. For he was has founded it upon the seas, and establish it upon the rivers. Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord, and who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation, such as a generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of God, the God of Jacob Sila. And then we go to Proverbs 7 and so you can see a stark and direct warning against the adulteress, you know, to avoid her influence. So this is Proverbs 7, starting in verse 21 with much seductive speech. She persuades him with her smooth talk she compels him all at once he follows her as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast, till an arrow pierces its liver, and a bird rushes into a snare. He does not know that it will cost him his life. And now, oh sons, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth. Let not your heart turn aside to her ways do not stray into her path. For many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death. So here's the thing. Both Psalm 24 and Proverbs 7 are describing gates so Psalm 24, the gate that the King of glory enters, and Proverbs 7, the gate that leads to the house of the adulteress. And here is the reality that you know for. For most men that fall into sexual sin, it doesn't happen all at once. It's not like you look up one day to discover that you're drowning in sexual sin. It's. It's not something that happens to you. It's something that you did and kept doing. It's a pernicious sin that typically moves slowly until it consumes you entirely and you open the gate of the adulteress. One decision, one action at a time. But what if we could shift our focus? What if we could turn aside to her ways to not stray into her path? What would we need to focus on to pull that off? Let's actually go back to Psalm 24 and we're going to do verses 7 through 10. Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty. The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates, and lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts. He is the King of glory. Selah. The man described in Proverbs 7 is entering the gates of death because he can't control his eyes nor his impulses. So we must shift our focus so that we can, you know, our focus that can easily be distracted, I guess, by the siren song of sexual sin. We must shift that to the King of glory. You can't stand on the holy hill of God if you're crawling through the gutter inside of our own brain. Inside of your own brain. You need to make a decision that you will no longer flirt with or hang out near sexual sin. Make the decision, stop the actions that lead to death and lift up your heads and feast your eyes on the King of glory, Selah.

In this episode of The Daily Blade, hosts Joby Martin and Kyle Thompson focus on day seven of Kyle’s “31-Day Resilience Reset” devotional resource. The discussion centers around Psalm 24 and Proverbs 7, drawing parallels between the “gates” that allow either the King of Glory or destructive sin into our lives. The episode is designed to equip Christian men with practical biblical truth to foster spiritual resilience, with a particular warning against the slow seduction of sexual sin and an encouragement to refocus on Christ.
Kyle Thompson [01:57]:
“For most men that fall into sexual sin, it doesn’t happen all at once. It’s not something that happens to you. It’s something you did and kept doing.”
Kyle Thompson [03:55]:
“You can’t stand on the holy hill of God if you’re crawling through the gutter inside of your own brain.”

The language throughout the episode is direct, encouraging, and grounded in scriptural authority. The hosts, especially Kyle, blend pastoral concern with practical coaching, aiming to “equip men for the fight” against everyday spiritual challenges.
This episode offers a potent devotional reminder: men must daily decide which “gate” they open with their choices. Lasting resilience is found in lifting one’s head and focusing on Christ—resisting gradual temptation by saturation in God’s presence and truth.
