Welcome to the Daily Blade. The word of God is described as the sword of the spirit, the primary spiritual weapon in the Christian's armor against the forces of evil. Your hosts are Joby Martin and Kyle Thompson, and they stand ready to equip men for the fight. Let's sharpen up.

All right. Welcome to a new week of the Daily Blade. Let's talk about sex. You guys ready? All right, let's get into it. All right, we're going over the 10 elements of a godly man. Last week we did the first five. Element one, a godly man has surrendered his life to Christ. Element two, a godly man is selfless. Element three, a godly man strives for holiness. Element four, a godly man is repentant. And element five, a godly man loves his wife as Christ loved the church. Element six of a godly man. What we're going to be talking about today is a godly man is sexually pure. Now, I don't need to tell you guys this, but we certainly live in the most sex crazed culture perhaps ever. Has to do a lot with the ubiquity of pornography. Again, most of the Internet traffic on the planet is pornography based. Most of us have been exposed to pornography at an early age. That age keeps getting younger and younger and younger. You can't watch ads during the super bowl without their. One of the subject matters being boobs or seeing, you know, scantily clad women or something like that. It's just, it's a massive problem for us culturally. And also there's a worldly ethic of sex, right? The world would tell us that sex is okay, any and all forms of sex with whomever, whenever, without shame or consequence. And if you get pregnant, ah, we'll just kill the baby, right? So let's just completely have no attachment between each other. Let's just kind of have sex because for funsies or something like that. But even in the Christian circles there's this new thing that's come up over the last few years about people that have been quote unquote hurt by so called purity culture. So those were the kids back in the 90s and 2000s that went to the, you know, true love weights or worth their way rally and they, they signed a pledge card saying they weren't going to have sex before marriage and they wore the ring and guess what? I did the same thing. But now you have people that are like, oh my gosh, that harmed me somehow. It har that a group of people was trying to hold me accountable to a Biblical ethic of sex. It's just foolish. It's weak. Because here's the reality. If your biblical ethic and actions don't match with the Bible perfectly, then you are wrong. Not God, not the God that actually came up with the idea of sex. It's you that's wrong. So what does God through scripture have to say about sexual immorality and purity? Let's go to First Corinthians, verse or chapter six. We're gonna start in verse 12 and go through verse 20. Here's the apostle Paul. All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be dominated by anything. Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food. And God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord and the Lord for the body. And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never. Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For as it is written, the two will become one flesh, but he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body. But the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. Okay, so a few things on this. Are all sins the same? No, no. But my youth pastor growing up said all sins are the same. Well, he's an idiot. Maybe not idiot. That was kind of rude. He's wrong. Okay, they're not. Why not? Literally, because the Bible says so. I just read it. Not all sins are the same. But also, what does Paul mean when he says sexual immorality? Okay, so that's actually a Greek word, por or pornea. So. Right. That's where we get the root word for pornography or porn in our modern day parlance. So that should sound familiar, but the meaning of pornea is premarital sex, adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, incest and bestiality. So in other words, any sex outside of a covenantal marriage between one man and one woman. Okay, if you have any type of sex outside of that, you are being sexually immoral. And before you let some freshman philosophy professor or some dunce megachurch pastor convince you that Jesus never talked about homosexuality or any type of that. Let's go to his own words recorded in Matthew 15, verse 19. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. Okay, so sexual immorality, there it's recorded as porneia. But here, let's go all the way back to the words the apostle Paul. So we're going into the words. Verse 18, flee from sexual immorality. Let me just ask you guys, what do you think flee means exactly? Do you think it means hang out by the line? Does it mean figure out what I can get away with and still consider myself a non sinner? Someone who's not acting in a sexually immoral way? Is it? All right, let's just look at the pictures of them in their bathing suit, but don't actually go to their only fans account. Is that what you think flea means? Because with a lot of guys that I've seen that I've talked to, it seems like that's what they would think flea means flee. It means run away. Like someone is chasing you with a vial, a syringe full of poison, and they're trying to stick it in your neck. That's what we do with sexual immorality. You don't linger on the Instagram page. You don't linger on the picture that comes up on X. You don't linger as you're walking through the supermarket and you see an advertisement pop up. Got a scantily clad woman. You don't linger. You flee. It's mandated to us. We flee from sexual immorality. Element six of a Godly Man. A godly man is sexually pure. If you guys struggle in this area, today's the day that you get a handle on it.
