Hey, everyone. I'm Dr. Axe, and welcome to the show. Today we'll be covering one of the most important topics we'll ever cover, and that is how to heal cancer. And we'll talk about the top natural treatments, the top foods, the top herbs, the top supplements, the top natural treatments for taking care of cancer. And I'll also walk you through how my mom reversed cancer many years ago and how I've worked with thousands of other patients since then, helping them reverse their conditions. And we'll get into the root cause of cancer in terms of how it's connected to lack of oxygen in the cell, insulin resistance, and so much more on today's episode. And the reality is this. I'm gonna make today's episode both simple, but also I do wanna say that cancer is one of the most complex diseases there is. You know, mainstream medicine sees cancer as a genetic mutation requiring aggressive treatments, almost always surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. But from a holistic perspective, cancer is a systemic disease. Result, really imbalances that you can change in the body, such as the health of our mitochondria, the health of our cells related to metabolism, detoxification, and immune function. We'll go through today how we can actually alter those using foods, new treatments that have been released even in recent years, and more on today's episode. And these treatments, again, help my mom heal from cancer. My mom, many years ago, was diagnosed with breast cancer. And I can still remember this. When I was in junior high, I was in seventh grade, my mom got that breast cancer diagnosis. And I remember us. It being so shocking for our family because my mom looked so healthy on the outside. In fact, my mom was my gym teacher in elementary school. She was a swim instructor and very fit. And my family at the time lived in the medical model. Anytime we were sick, we took drugs. We didn't know there was another way or more natural way. So my mom went and had a mastectomy. She went through rounds and rounds and rounds of chemotherapy. And I can still remember to this day. I remember walking in the bathroom once and my mom taking a comb through her hair after one of her chemo treatments. And this is when her hair started falling out and big chunks coming out. My mom just sobbing. And it just wrecked me as a kid. And I remember thinking two things. One, there has to be a better way. And the second thing I thought was, I want to help people like my mom. I want to help people like my mom heal, and I want to find a better way to help them heal. And I've Dedicated my entire career to do that. And my mom kept going through the chemo treatments. She was eventually diagnosed as being cancer free and healthy. But after my mom went through all these treatments, my mom seemed worse than before. My mom got put on antidepressant drugs, anti anxiety. She developed chronic fatigue syndrome, she had hypothyroidism, leaky gut, chronic constipation issues, and her immune system was just shot. She was sick and tired all the time. And this went on for many years until finally I was in college, actually chiropractic school, and also working on my nutrition degrees and all the other things, studying functional medicine. And I get a call from my mom months before I'm about to go up and open my own practice. And she said, josh, I've been diagnosed with cancer again. And they found masses on my lungs. They want to go in and do surgery and then start radiation treatments. She said, what do I do? And I said, mom, I'll be home. I flew home, we sat down, prayed together. We felt led to take care of her all naturally. And we told her oncologist. And her oncologist said, well, I don't recommend it, but okay, I need to see you in a few months. And so with my mom, we started juicing vegetables every day. We followed a blend of, at the time, I would say almost a blend of. We took some ideas from the Gerson therapy, from the Budwig protocol, and even from ketogenic, but we really focused predominantly on her doing vegetables, some berries, some healthy fats, doing some liver. And the main protein source was wild caught sockeye salmon. And we did a lot of things like reishi mushroom and turmeric and a lot of other things I'm going to share with you in the episode. But we went back four months later and my mom's tumors had shrunk in half. In fact, I remember the oncologist calling up and saying that. She said, this doesn't typically happen, but the tumors have shrunk by more than 50%. She said, Keep doing what you're doing. I want to see you again in nine months. Went back nine months later, complete remission. So now my mom's in the best shape of her life. She's in her 70s, she's bringing her grandkids to Disney World. That was about, I want to say, probably close to 17 years ago. So a long time ago. And she's still healthy and thriving and says she feels better now in her 70s than she did in her 30s. And the reality is this is that if you're a person that had been diagnosed with cancer, know somebody who has. It's not a death sentence. Your body has amazing capacity to heal. If we can shift and change the environment. And the mistake that most people make is they try and treat the cancer directly. No, you want to strengthen and equip your own body spiritually, mentally and physically to go and kill off the cancer cells and to heal. And if you follow the right strategies, your body can do amazing things. And so we're going to dive into that today. So as I mentioned, my mom was able to heal from her cancer naturally. And there are so many other people that, that have the same testimony. I feel like the mainstream media just sort of hides this. I know hundreds of people that have been able to reverse their cancer naturally. And you know, Jordan Peterson is an example of this. And by the way, when I say hundreds, I know those are people I personally know. There are far more. There are probably hundreds of thousands that have. But, you know Jordan Peterson's wife, Tammy Peterson. I was just in Arizona filming with Michaela, his daughter. Peterson and Tammy beat kidney cancer with alternative treatments, including prayer being one of the biggest things. She did hyperbaric oxygen therapy. But faith played such a key role in her healing. We'll get into that today as well. Jordan Rubin, one of my best friends, healed testicular cancer. The doctors said you have no chance of living. Went completely all naturally with essential oil therapies with a diet. I remember I went to visit Jordan and when I first met him, the only thing he was eating was fermented raw wild sockeye salmon and vegetables and vegetable juices and berries. That was the only thing he was eating in avocados. That was pretty much it. And he beat cancer naturally. And so there are so many people that have been able to reverse cancer. Another friend of mine, Diego Mesa, reversed it with a ketogenic diet. And so the body can heal if we give it what it needs, if we get rid of what it doesn't need, if we can change the internal environment. And it's important to understand is why I want to mention this. According to science and according to this is the National Institute of Health. So this is a mainstream medicine publication. But what they've given in terms of percentages is only 5 to 10% of cancers are due to inherited genetic mutations. 5 to 10%, well, 90 to 95% are linked to lifestyle, environmental factors and metabolic dysfunction. And according to another medical journal out of Springer Pharmaceutical Research, they say this evidence indicates that of all cancer related deaths, almost 20 to 30% are due to tobacco. 30 to 35%, which is the largest percentage, are linked to diet and about 15 to 20% are due to co infections. Which is going to be interesting and we're going to get into this how if you have another infection like a parasitic infection, a mold infection or a viral infection, your body oftentimes treats some of these like cancer. So your body can't fight actual cancer as well when you have an infection living in your gut, microbiome or liver, or within your blood somewhere in your body. And so this was another thing. As I started compiling this research and looking into this, even when my mom had cancer, I was so shocked to find out one of the single biggest reasons today people get cancer is they have a CO infection like Lyme or long Covid or parasites that they've never dealt with and that weakens their immune system enough to where they end up getting cancer. There are many other factors as well we're going to cover like radiation, stress, lack of physical activity and of course environmental toxins we're exposed to on a regular basis. But these all contribute to cancer. And the other thing I want to let you know is cancer can be super complex. But when I give recommendations in terms of the diet and the herbs and the treatments, it removes complexity because you might start saying to yourself, well, I want to improve, I want to oxygenate my cell, I want to balance insulin, I want to reduce oxidative stress, I want to reduce inflammation, I want to boost my natural killer cells. But when I get into this, and I will talk about some of those things, I'm going to really simplify it. So you know, well, here are the top five herbs that do all of those things combined well. Here are the top vitamins and minerals that are necessary. Here are the top foods or what I should eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner to walk you through healing cancer. And by the way, one thing I used to tell my patients is I eat like I have cancer every day. So I don't get it. So this episode isn't just about if you have it, it's about how to prevent it and increase your longevity and your overall health. Let's dive into some of the main drivers. According to the latest scientific evidence, when it comes to what causes Cancer, first and foremost is sugar and insulin resistance. High blood sugar feeds cancer cells. It's called the Warburg effect. So if you are insulin resistant, pre diabetic or diabetic, your chance of getting cancer goes up dramatically. So you really, really want to pay attention to insulin. This is why with patients, one of my favorite tools is having them wear a continuous blood glucose monitor, even if you just did it for two to four weeks, to see how your body responds to different foods. But keeping your insulin balanced is critical for not only burning fat and losing weight, but it's also important for fighting cancer. The next big thing is lack of oxygen. Cancer cells thrive in low oxygen environments and use fermentation instead of oxygen to grow. This is why I love hyperbaric chambers. It's why I love doing specific types of exercise and eating. I'm going to get into, get into the Budwig protocol and the exact diet that actually oxygenates your cells. It's so powerful. By the way, these same things are also critical not only for fighting cancer, for fighting lyme disease, mold toxicity, parasites, any sort of co infections or pathogens. The next one here is toxin overload. Heavy metals like lead, mercury and arsenic, glyphosate from herbicide and pesticide exposure, radiation, mold, all of these toxins overload our bodies and our cell receptor sites. That's another major driver of cancer. So I would say that those are three of the biggest. In addition, here's a few more though. Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress. This damages your DNA and actually promotes tumor growth. And the next one here is mitochondrial dysfunction. Cancer is largely a metabolic disease, and damaged mitochondria leads to uncontrolled cell growth. And part of the way you heal the mitochondria, which we'll get into, is giving it some very specific foods, such as pomegranates are powerful for this. Taking herbs like rhodiola, rosea, ginseng, ashwagandha, a lot of those adaptogens like reishi and cordyceps, they really help heal the mitochondria. And we'll get into that later. And then emotional trauma and stress major. In fact, it might be the single biggest causative factor, along with insulin resistance of cancer. I think cancer is not just a physical disease. I believe it's a spiritual and mental disease in terms of if you have childhood trauma, if you are spiritually not connected with God the divine, I think these increase your risk of cancer. Because if you don't believe that you have a God, that's for you. If you believe that God is like an old, you know, like Zeus, like an angry old man in the sky. You're not going to feel very safe and secure. Well, what happens then? Cortisol goes up, that ages you, that stresses you, that feeds cancer, versus if you feel like God is all loving, he's your protector, he's your provider, he's your healer. There's a sense of you're safe, you're secure, you don't have to worry, you don't have to have fear. And so that's another thing is sort of. And then there's also this thing that sort of feeds your soul and gives you a sense of joy and gratitude, living in connection with God. And so prayer, meditation, dealing with stress and trauma are also critical for healing. I think that's the most overlooked part of cancer treatments today, taking care of the mental, emotional and spiritual health of patients. And then one more thing here before we dive in. It's weakened immune system and poor NK cell function. Cancer forms when the immune system fails to remove abnormal cells. Now I alluded to this earlier, but there is a deep connection between cancer and parasites and other co infections like mold and viruses. Cancer actually behaves like a parasite or a fungus in many ways. It steals nutrients, it hijacks your blood flow and it spreads aggressively. Very, very similar to fungal infections and parasitic infections and mold and mycotoxins in particular. Some cancers like liver cancer have a direct link to fungal toxins like aflatoxins, according to the medical research. And then also chronic parasitic infections contribute to inflammation, immune suppression, which increases your risk of cancer, according to several other studies. I have a extended family member who is diagnosed with glioblastoma as brain cancer. And when we had him see a, a oriental medical doctor, he looked at him and did a full up analysis on him and he said, I really think that my cousin was a missionary in Indian Pakistan and they believe that a big contributing factor was because he was in India and Pakistan and ate a lot of the food over there. He had parasitic infections he's had for 20 some years and that contributed to him getting these tumors in his brain. And so we do see absolutely that if you have these infections and you never take care of them, it basically weakens your immune system, allowing cancer cells to grow and take over areas of your body. I want to give the ancient Chinese medicine perspective of what causes cancer and they would call it qi and blood stagnation. This is where your mitochondria and your adrenals, basically these hormones are not moving Very well through your system. So really your mitochondria are weak and damaged in Western medicine, but they would call that qi stagnation. And the other thing there would be poor blood flow and toxin accumulation. And that's called blood stagnation. So basically imagine your body as this streams of living water. It's a stream, it's a river. Well, your body, if it gets backed up, turns into a swamp and things sit there and nutrients don't get out, waste products, nutrients don't get in, waste and toxins don't get out and your body turns into a swamp. And that's sort of the metaphor used in Chinese medicine what causes cancer. And so what they really encourage is, hey, we need to stimulate the liver and gallbladder for detoxification and bile flow in the lymphatic system. And in addition, we need to strengthen and boost up the immune system as well to help cleanse the system. But in Chinese medicine, I think they do a really good job of, again, it's blood and energy stagnation. And if we get your body moving in terms of the blood, in terms of the oxygen, your body can heal. There's a lot of herbs that address this in Chinese medicine. We'll get into some of these, everything from green tea, astragalus, reishi and turmeric. And we'll get into more of these in a moment. The other big thing I want to mention, and my take on this is different than a lot of others, but I believe that everyone that has cancer needs a personalized diet. Now I'm going to go through the top foods that help heal cancer according to ancient history and according to the recent medical research. But every person's cancer is different. You know, I've had an estrogen based breast cancer. There are specific foods I would have somebody consume in certain supplements I would have them take because we want to start dropping estrogen, right? So we're gonna focus on maybe even some dandelion and milk thistle and things to get rid of the excess estrogen. And I'm gonna recommend foods that are very nourishing to the breast tissue and the lymphatic glands. Even like pumpkin might be one that I incorporate in a lot of carrots that are, that are steamed. So there are certain foods that are more nourishing to that type of cancer. But then if somebody has liver or colon cancer or let's talk about brain cancer, I almost always put them on a ketogenic diet if it's brain related. And so just to say here again, I'VE had a lot of people in the cancer community who say, well, every cancer person should be raw or vegan or everybody should be ketogenic. I don't believe that. I think it's very dependent upon what type of cancer you have. And so that's an important distinction as well. And we'll get into that just a little bit more in a bit. If you've been doing everything right, eating clean, exercising, but somehow you're still not feeling your best, your energy's dragging, your memory is slipping, and it's frustrating because you know there's more to your potential. Well, what if the issue isn't just in your routine, but it's deep down inside your cells? You know you're investing in the best supplements, working out regularly and sticking to a clean diet. But if your cells are stuck in what's called cell danger response, all the hard work might not be paying off as it should. Think of your cells like a house under renovation. You can bring in the highest quality materials, like the best supplements and clean foods. But if the workers inside the house or are on lockdown because of a storm, nothing gets done. The materials just pile up unused. That's what happens when your cells are in cdr. They can't fully use the good stuff you're giving them. Getting out of cdr. So now I want to walk you through the top five types of diets for healing cancer and hit on a sixth one, which is eating less food, which is fasting, which I'll get into. But let's hit on the top five types of diets for healing cancer. The first one is a ancient Asian diet or a TCM diet. This is very personalized based on the person, but it tends to be focusing on cleansing and healing your blood and moving your blood and moving your qi and really supporting healing the mitochondria. And so they're going to focus on the organs primarily of the liver, so the detoxification system and the immune system. So it's a diet really focused on enhancing those two systems. This diet is going to be very, very, very high in green vegetables and bitter foods. So dandelion radishes and citrus foods. We want a lot of bitter and a lot of sour, green leafy vegetables, bitter melon, cruciferous vegetables. We want to support that. Liver detoxification in addition to that. So it's a lot of foods that are green and a lot of foods that are white and yellow. Remember, we want to enhance the liver, the detoxification system and the immune system. So green apple and green leafy vegetables and broccoli and green cabbage and cilantro and parsley and those types of foods. And in addition, we want to do a lot of garlic and onion and ginger and miso, a lot of those yellow and immune enhancing foods to help heal the body as well. And then even things like beets and carrots, we really focus on healing and cleansing the liver. And in terms of animal products, it's going to be very low. But if you do it, they're probably going to recommend some things like wild caught fish and maybe a little bit of bone broth and maybe a little bit of liver, and that's sort of it. And then they're going to recommend a lot of herbals, things like green tea, which are high in catechins and egcg, which have anti cancer properties and others. But the TCM diet is going to be very personalized and typically focused on healing the liver and the immune system. And then the next diet I want to touch on here is a Gerson therapy. Okay. The idea with Gerson therapy was flooding the body with nutrients and that's why they focus on juicing vegetables is he believed that cancer was primarily a issue of deficiency and toxicity. The body doesn't have enough nutrients and the body is overwhelmed with toxins. And so the entire diet, of all the diets, even more than raw vegan, in a way or equal to, it's really focused on let's flood the body with nutrients. And so what they would tend to do is recommend a mixture of raw vegetables, juice vegetables and steamed vegetables. Okay, so raw juiced and steamed. And this is something, my mom followed this pretty closely because my mom did raw, juiced and steamed a lot of those. And they would basically every few hours have you do vegetable juices that were fresh pressed every hour. So these weren't bought at the store. They were, you press them yourselves and drink them immediately. And when you do that, you're flooding the body with enzymes and vitamins and antioxidants to help repair and heal the cells. And in addition, I want to mention the Original Gerson therapy also included raw liver juice. Now, some variations, people did raw liver. Sometimes people do a liver glandular supplement, typically desiccated liver, but it always had liver for years. And then quite a few years ago, this was after Max Gerson, the developer, died, they took liver out and made it into a vegan diet, which wasn't his original protocol. I think it was part of the vegan movement. They're like, well, but now it's back in and desiccated liver. But I actually think the best way to do Gerson Therapy is to eat just raw liver. Okay, but again, the Gerson Therapy is it's vegetable juices, steamed vegetables, raw vegetables and raw liver. In addition, they'll have you do some fruit, specifically berries, but that's the biggest part of the diet. Sometimes they would have you do potatoes as well, because they believe the potassium actually increases cellular exchange of fluid and helps support detoxification. So again, when you think of Gerson Therapy, think of vegetables, liver, some fruit like apples and berries and potatoes. And that's the diet for the most part. In addition, he also had a lot of people do coffee enemas as again, helping the body detoxify, supporting more bile flow to remove carcinogens and heavy metals and metabolic waste. And so that's something else he did. And then, of course, there was no processed food, no salt, no animal products except for raw liver on this diet. But it was effective for many. He also used it for treating tuberculosis. So this wasn't just for cancer, it was used for numerous diseases in his research. The next diet I want to mention here, and this is something else my mom incorporated some of the ideas around, was a diet by Dr. Joanna Budweig. She was a German researcher. I believe she won the Nobel Prize. So brilliant, brilliant physician. And the diet focused on healing the mitochondria and improving cellular oxygenation, which I mentioned earlier. Those are two of the main causes of cancer. And cancers thrive in low oxygen environments. And this diet helps with improving oxygen delivery to tissues and slowing cancer's progression. And so here is how this diet works. And it's fascinating because she didn't have medical studies to prove this out. Now we do. So this theory is now a reality. It's true. And she healed many cancer patients with this treatment. But basically she. Every cell has a membrane. And so think about it almost like the skin of our bodies, okay? And when you are young, your skin is firm and it's supple and it bounces back. I mean, right? Think about when you're like athletic in your teens and twenties versus when you're in your 60s, 70s, and 80s, you're more stiff, you're more brittle, right? Well, the same goes for our cell membranes. When you have cell membranes that act younger, they're moldable and flexible and bouncy. When you age or your cells get sick, they get rigid. And this happens actually even in your arteries. You've heard of, like calcification of your arteries. Your arteries get too hard and rigid. Well, those are cells that make up your arteries. It's a very similar thing can happen throughout your body. So her hypothesis was, if I can go and heal the cell membranes, that's going to also help oxygenate the cell and heal the body. And so she created a diet to do that. And she believed that part of the reason why our cells become so rigid is a deficiency in unsaturated fatty acids, specifically omega 3 fatty acids and phospholipids. Okay. And so what she would have people do is large amounts of. She would have people eat salmon, but predominantly do this mixture of flax oil and flax seeds mixed with fermented dairy. Okay? And omega 3 fatty acids, especially from flax oil, are highly unsaturated. They help the cell membranes become more fluid and permeable, improving oxygenation, transport into the cell and detoxification. And better oxygen means better nutrient exchange. And here's what she said, specifically her words. Without these highly unsaturated fatty acids, the respiratory enzymes cannot function and the person suffocates. Even when he is given oxygen rich air, the fatty acids are the solution. So she believed that eating the right fats healed the body and reduced inflammation. And the other part of the protocol, along with flax oil and ground flax meal, was doing fermented dairy. Now, the type of dairy they were using then was called cork, which is kind of like a blend. You could think of it as like a cottage cheese or, or maybe even like a thicker yogurt or kefir, but it was called cork. But just think, fermented dairy, like cottage cheese. And she believed when you mixed the omega 3 fats with these proteins, what she called these proteins, it created a lipo, which means fat and protein, a lipoprotein complex. And this made the fats more water soluble and better absorbed into the cell. And also these sulfur containing protein proteins that were found in fermented dairy, like cysteine, methionine, they bind with fatty acids to create, basically to make them really easily absorbable. And this enhances oxygen into the cell and Nutrients getting into the cell. So basically again, the meal is this. You mix flaxseed oil with flaxseeds, with cottage cheese and you eat it. That's it. In addition, in her diet, she recommended a lot of vegetables along with some other things like nuts and seeds like walnuts, rich in omega 3 fatty acids. So her big focus was vegetables, flaxseeds and walnuts and raw fermented dairy to heal the cell. And if you think about it, this diet, it's very low glycemic, it's very rich in omega 3 fatty acids to reduce inflammation. It's very oxygenating. It's an incredible healing diet. So my mom, what we did with her is we had her incorporate all of these things. We had a very specific diet for her, focused on the TCM aspects, moving her immune system, moving her liver with the type of vegetables. We chose a lot of things like dandelion greens and beets and beet greens and carrots and a lot of those broccoli, a lot of those types of vegetables. We incorporated the juicing idea in the raw liver from Gerson Therapy. So she would do a lot of, she would do a mixture, she would juice vegetables twice a day, do one serving of steamed, one of raw, and then we would do some berries and green apples. And that was her diet. And then once a day she did this budwig protocol. And then the other thing I want to mention, and my mom didn't do, my mom, she reduced her eating window down to 10 hours. So she would eat around 9am and then again at 1 and again at 5. So she was eating within about a nine hour eating window. Window. So it was a lower, but it wasn't intermittent fasting from the standpoint of only eating maybe in a four to eight hour window. But she did reduce that eating window down a little bit. But there is evidence for fasting for fighting cancer. Evidence suggests that fasting may allow your body to better increase something called autophagy, which is where your body recycles and helps heal your mitochondria and detoxifies better when you're fasting. And so again, fasting activates autophagy, which is a process where the body clears out damaged cells, including pre cancerous ones. And so there's a lot of benefits in getting into fasting for cancer also increases something called your natural killer. Cell production, lowers insulin and blood sugar, lowers oxidative stress. So there are a lot of benefits of fasting. I do want to give the warning though. I don't typically recommend over Fasting, I still, for my mom, wanted her to get a sufficient amount of calories. But again, we did incorporate some intermittent fasting for her and it was like a nine hour eating window rather than a four or six hour like a lot of people do, or even an eight hour. So she would eat at 9am, 1pm and 5pm an early dinner. And that's what I recommend for many cancer patients today as well, is doing that sort of very small eating window, but still being able to get in those three meals with four hours apart between the meals. Now I want to talk about the ketogenic diet. This is a study published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention. Here's what they say. The ketogenic diet is a high fat, moderate protein and low carbohydrate diet that appears to sensitize most cancers to conventional therapies by exploiting cancer cells altered metabolism and making it an effective adjunctive cancer treatment alternative. And the way that this works is cancer cells prefer glucose, they prefer sugar and struggle to use ketones for energy. So being in ketosis may actually starve cancer cells by removing sugar as a fuel source. So that's ultra. Ultimately, why ketogenic diets work is they starve cancer cells. Okay. And when I think about my mom's diet, my mom didn't go full keto, but she was very low carbohydrate. Vegetables have very few carbohydrates. My mom also did. The more you move closer to intermittent fasting, the more you'll get into ketosis as well. She did some healthy fats, and I think she was probably borderline in and out of ketosis sometimes as well. But I do think there's a lot of benefits, especially with certain types of cancers, when using a ketogenic diet there as well. And here's another study that suggests that a ketogenic diet improves survival rates in glioblastoma, that's brain cancer, by reducing inflammation and tumor growth. According to the findings of our study, they say patients with brain tumors who stick to a ketogenic diet are more likely to experience improvement, improve survival rates. This was in the Journal of Personalized Medicine. And so we see that as well. And then the last diet I want to dive into here is a vegan diet. I am not a promoter of, in most cases, a vegan diet for cancer. Even though the diets I recommend are actually close to vegan because they're so dominant in vegetables and berries, they're so dominant in plants. And I know several people who actually reverse their Cancer using a vegan diet. Now I know more that have reversed it using the other diets I've talked about, but there are people that have reversed it with a vegan diet. And let me mention why I do think that it's a great diet. One again, if you're just doing organic vegetables and organic fruits and those sort of foods, your toxin load is going to be lighter. Your liver and gallbladder are going to be able to fold it. When you're body's not dealing with certain types of animal fats, your liver is more free to cleanse and work and do the job it needs to do of killing cancer cells, especially your gallbladder, your lymphatic system and your liver. So there are benefits of doing that. However, you'll notice all of these other diets are still predominantly vegetables. But like with a Gerson, for instance, there are certain things you are missing missing when you're on a vegan diet. Where Gershon I think was so brilliant in that he included the most nutrient dense animal product on the planet, liver, which gives your body what it doesn't get on a vegan diet, which is vitamin B12 in super high amounts, numerous other B vitamins in high amounts, choline in very high amounts, which is critical for liver detoxification. Those are critical for mitochondrial function. And so I think the Gerson Therapy is really an amazing diet and a better alternative to vegan. But again, I do think vegan. There are people that reverse their cancer with a vegan diet. But I do think if you're doing Gershon or the Chinese medicine diet, it's better because you are getting at least some of those nutrients that are still required by some of these organ systems to function optimally. Of course, your cells to function optimally. I want to walk you through some of the best diets for specific types of cancer. As I mentioned earlier, if somebody has brain cancer like a glioblastoma or astrocytoma, a ketogenic diet has shown promising results in reducing tumor sizes. If somebody has a hormone related cancer like breast or prostate or ovarian, I do think that the Gerson therapy and protocol is amazing. And especially if you combine that with liver detoxifying herbs like Milthorpe milk, this one dandelion, I think for general cancer for most people, I am a big fan of the Chinese medicine diet and the Budwig protocol and fasting and Gershon, mixing all of those together. Okay, So I think if you can look at the best aspects of each of those, it is the best for most people that have cancer. Again, the TCM diet, it's going to be very vegetable. It's a lot of green fat foods, it's a lot of white foods. The Gerson is a lot of things to reduce to. A lot of. It's raw juiced and steamed vegetables and supporting the liver detoxification pathways with raw liver. The Budwig protocol with a little bit of that raw fermented dairy with flax meal and flax oil and then keeping it low glycemic as I mentioned there as well, I think is the best for most people. And that's exactly what my mom did and how she reversed her cancer. Let me walk you through the best cancer fighting foods, generally speaking. And this isn't the top to the bottom. This is just a list of many of them. Berries. Berries are rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins which reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. They support DNA repair. They have anti cancer properties. Pomegranates, one of my favorite anti cancer foods. There is a study showing it both helps with blocking tumor growth and reduces estrogen related cancer risk which is so big for women today. This is why pomegranates are probably my single favorite superfruit out there along with other very rare types of berries like maki berry, goji berry as well. Vegetables. Raw, steamed and juiced cruciferous vegetables have indole, three carbinol and sulfur containing compounds which detoxify your body, which kills cancer cells. And then bitter green leafy vegetables like dandelion and arugula. Spinach. If you steam those, it improves bile flow and helps cleanse the body. Those are also great. So the cruciferous with the bitter green leafies, watercress would also be on that list. One of my favorites. And then liver and organ meats. They're high in B vitamins, they're high in vitamin A, high in zinc, high in iron, high in choline, which support immune function and detoxification pathways. And then I do like wild caught fish. If you're going to get one other source of protein. Wild caught fish, not salmon, which is rich in epn, dha. And some studies have shown it fights cancer. In fact, in one medical journal they did a meta analysis looking at 33 trials and they found that when somebody consumed 1000mg of omega 3 fatty acids a day, it significantly reduced inflammatory markers that are related to tumor growth and greatly decreased the risk of cancer. So we see this research at least in cancer prevention with wild sockeye and Alaskan salmon, the very, very dense omega 3 fat foods. And then mushrooms. Okay, Mushrooms, shiitake and maitake in particular in terms of your diet. Now I'll get more into reishi and turkey tail here as well as we talk about this, but dietarily, maitake and shiitake mushrooms are amazing at b boosting your natural killer cells. What your natural killer cells do is they're like snipers or a Navy SEAL team. They're going through your body seeking and actually destroying and killing off the cancer cells. Part of the reason this works is they are high in a type of polysaccharides called beta glucans. And these beta glucans increase cellular communication. So part of the reason why people get cancer is, is your cells stop communicating. And part of it is due to toxicity and senescent cells piling up in your body. But basically your cells can't communicate. So your body isn't even telling some of the cells that are supposed to be killing the cancer cells, hey, there are cancer cells here. So when you consume these medicinal mushrooms, now all of a sudden you're improving cellular communication. And now your Navy SEAL team of these natural killer cells are now going and actually killing the cancer cells. And probably the single most powerful mushroom that does this, according to research, it's called turkey tail mushroom or tramates or coriolis versicolor. And it's also very effective against parasites and other types of viral infections. But again, turkey tail is probably the most powerful at this. And studies have shown it actually is effective at gastric cancer, breast cancer and colorectal cancer. Specifically, of nine studies reported on using these medicinal mushrooms and then the healthy fatty acids, I mentioned the wild caught salmon. That's going to be on the list. Flax oil and ground flax meal, some coconut and avocado and extra virgin olive oil and walnuts. I think these are the best for fighting cancer. When you look at these in terms of diet. Now I want to walk you through, through the top cancer killing herbs and mushrooms. And I do want to mention again, based on the type of cancer you have, this list can change a little bit or what you decide to take. And listen, if you go online and look this up online, you're going to see, I mean, there are so many herbs with anti cancer properties. And I do want to mention one of the issues with the standard American diet today is there are so few herbs. Think about this. If you eat fast food, are you getting any herbs? Okay, maybe pepper. Okay. But outside of that, you're not Getting really any herbs and spices or mushrooms, okay. In the standard American diet, if you go to certain countries have much lower cancer rates. If you would go to Italy or Israel or India and you would look at their cancer rates are much lower. Well, their herb consumption of culinary herbs, everything from turmeric to ginger to, you know, cardamom is dramatically higher than the United States. Again, the United States, it's very bland, it's salty, it's sweet, very little bitter, very little umami, you know, which is the flavor a lot of these herbs today. And so we need more herbs if we want to prevent cancer and fight cancer. Number one on the list that probably has the most medical research backing its anti cancer properties is green tea. Green tea contains egcg, that's epigalactic catechin. It's a type of catechin that inhibits cancer cell growth, causes something called apoptosis, which is cancer cell death, and blocks angiogenesis, which is when cancers proliferate. So like metastatic cancer. So drinking green tea daily, whether it's a matcha powder or essentia loose leaf tea, tremendous benefits at fighting and preventing cancer. Reishi mushroom, it's actually known as the mushroom of immortality in China and Japan. It's actually approved in Japan for cancer therapy, as I mentioned earlier, high in beta glucans, high in triterpenes, boost natural killer cell production. Loads and loads of benefits there of reishi turkey tail mushroom, also approved in Japan for cancer treatment. Isn't that amazing? Japan, much lower levels of cancer, spending much less on cancer research, much lower cancer level. And yet the United States just continues to try and just shove chemotherapy and radiation down people's throats. And if you go see an oncologist today, zero nutrition recommendations, how crazy is that? That you can go to oncologist and you can have any type of cancer and the only thing they're going to recommend you do is get chemotherapy or radiation. And the only reason for that is they are paid by pharmaceutical companies. And that's the standard of care due to the pharmaceutical chokehold they have on mainstream medicine. And there are people dying because of greed today, monetary greed in a country like Japan. Again, if any logical person would look at the cancer rates in Japan and say, what is Japan doing? Let's do more of what they do. Or Switzerland or some of these areas where they have natural cancer research, we're not doing that today. But if you're a person and you want to prevent cancer, you know a loved one who has it or you yourself are in this situation. Now again, let's take a note from countries like Japan and what they're doing, they're doing high dose reishi, high dose turkey tail because of the many studies in Asia we're seeing and in fighting cancer, mistletoe. Now this is interesting. When we hear something like mistletoe, we tend to think of kissing under the mistletoe during Christmas season. But this incredible leaf has powerful anti cancer properties for boosting natural killer cell production and T cell function, which helps fight tumors, may reduce tumor growth. In fact, I've got several friends who over the years have been diagnosed with cancer. And one of the IVs they'll get along with vitamin C and some others is they'll get mistletoe IVs because it, and it also reduces chemotherapy side effects. And so sometimes people have done it in conjunction with traditional treatment, sometimes as part of just a whole holistic protocol. Another herb I love is milk thistle. This protects and regenerates the liver. It's great for detoxification and it's great if you have excess estrogen. So if you have estrogen based cancer, this is a good one to take. Milk thistle, turmeric, of course, we know outside of green tea, turmeric is probably the next in line for the most clinical research for anti cancer properties because of its compound called curcumin, which has been shown to help kill cancer cells and reduce inflammation. So great benefits there. Artemisia. This is an herb actually I believe used in ayurvedic medicine and it has really powerful anti parasitic properties, but it helps cleanse the blood, so selectively kills cancer cells. And it's been shown to be effective against leukemia, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer. So artemisia is another powerful berberine. Berberine works because it balances out insulin in IGF1 and something called AMPK. So it's a good, it's good for metabolic issues if you know, or somebody was diagnosed with cancer and they had prediabetes or insulin resistance and blood sugar issues. Berberine is a really good one to take and also as a preventative measure, of course. It's also great for weight loss and type 2 diabetes as well. Astragalus, probably one of my top three cancer fighting herbs. This is one my mom took in higher doses, 4,000 milligrams a day. This boosts the immune system, enhances white blood cell function and studies have shown actually helps with survival rates in cancer patients. So really, really powerful there. Astragnolo. It's one of the greatest immune Boosters out there. Boswellia, known as frankincense, also has some benefits, the way it reduces inflammation. Black cumin also has some benefits. And then garlic, actually probably garlic up there with turmeric and creatine has the most clinical studies on fighting cancer. Now the way I have most people get garlic is not via capsule. I just have them eat some raw garlic and cooked garlic just as part of their meals. So really don't even need to take that as a supplement. And then there are certain spices like cayenne pepper and galangal and ginger. Those warming herbs and spices also fight certain types of cancer. All right, I want to get into supplements now. So we went through the herbals. Let's go through the supplements that fight cancer. My number one supplement for fighting cancer might surprise you. It's probiotics. Now think about this that many of you already know. 70 to 75% of your immune system is located in your gut. Okay? You have more bacteria in your gut than cells in your body. So if you want to fight cancer and you need your immune system's help, well, you have to have a very robust and healthy gut microbiome. When your gut is healthy, your body is sending all of the signals. It's communicating better, it's activating those natural killer cells. So really high dose probiotics of around at least 100 billion, but even a trillion daily is what I would recommend for a lot of people. And specifically more soil based probiotics along with some of the food based like bacillus subtilis known as AB22 is one of those types that I think is really, really powerful that I would recommend. Now there's a study published and it's called the reviews on or in a medical journal called Reviews on cancer. And they looked at other types of bacteria. They looked at Lactobacillus and bifidobacterium, which are some of the most important microbes you get at birth that your mom passes on to you. And they found that utilizing these types of probiotics induces anti cancer action by enhancing cancer cell death and protecting your body against oxidative stress. And there's a lot of evidence that supports this sort of using probiotics as sort of anti cancer therapy. So that's number one, doing high dose probiotics. Number two is vitamin D. This boosts your immune surveillance, which is critical. This is nutrient sensing, cell communication. So vitamin D is not only a vitamin, it is an immune boosting nutrient and it regulates inflammation. Again, the big thing here is it Boosts your immune system. You want to make sure your vitamin D levels are well over 30 if you go and get them tested. And in one of the medical journals, here's what they say about vitamin D. They say the majority of evidence suggests that low circulating vitamin D levels are associated with an increased risk of cancer, Whereas supplementation alone or in combination with other immunotherapeutic drugs may improve clinical outcomes. So we're seeing here vitamin D helps fight cancer. Number three is magnesium. Now, magnesium is big because your liver needs magnesium to detoxify and your cells need it for mitochondrial function and energy for ATP synthesis. So it's really critical for both liver detoxification and ATP production via also working with your cellular mitochondria. So I would say about 300 to 600 milligrams daily. Doing a spirulina bound, like doing a magnesium that is in a food based form or magnesium vitamin D combo is even better because they work synergistically. And doing it where it's a food based in something like spirulina or some other food is really where you want to go with that. And then vitamin C, this is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals, prevents the body's DNA damage. People have been doing vitamin C IVs for a long time, especially in other countries as part of cancer therapy. Getting a medium amazing results with it. Amazing. And there's others that I could get into. I think zinc is also critical. If I had number five on the list, zinc, because of what it does for immune function, selenium is also very important. So zinc and selenium, you also need to look at as these sort of immune nutrients that are critical for fighting cancer. But the ones that I covered are probably the most important. Now let's talk about advanced therapies for cancer prevention. And let me mention this. My mom didn't take all of these, but my mom did take a multi mushroom supplement which included turkey tail, cordyceps and reishi. My mom did a turmeric and ginger product, I think as a tea, just drank that all day and green tea. So she just drank that all day, every day. So some of it can be supplements, not all of it has to be right. So she did a lot of this as herbal teas. My mom also did, she did some zeolites for detoxification. She would do some milk thistle as a tea as well. In a supplement. She did a lot of berry extract like berry powders like goji and pomegranate and those sort of powders on a regular basis. Those are some of the big ones. She did regularly an Omega 3. Most of the time she did salmon, but if she didn't that day, and she did vitamin d, vitamin C, zinc, and probiotics. So this is exactly part of the path that my mom followed. Now, a lot of these advanced therapies, my mom did maybe one or two, but not all of these. And there's a lot more research now on these holistic therapies for fighting cancer. And one of my favorites is called ozone therapy. What ozone does is it increases oxygen delivery to the tissue. So we mentioned what budwig protocol does via diet, ozone therapy does as a treatment. And so what you do is you have ozone goes into your bloodstream now, or there's a way of doing it with something called a 10 pass or eboom machine, where they take the blood out of your body, they put ozone in, and then recirculate. And a 10 pass is called that because it does it 10 times. And eboo is even more powerful in terms of what it does. But cancer cells thrive in low oxygen, right? These hypoxic environments. And ozone therapy helps flood the body with oxygen to inhibit tumor growth. Now, I also want to mention ozone is amazing for not only killing cancer cells, but killing some of those co infections that allows cancer to thrive, like mold, parasites, and other viral infections. It also boosts immune function and detoxification channels. So ozone is powerful because of oxygen. Now the next one's powerful because of oxygen, too, in a different way, because ozone is O3, different type of oxygen. And we have hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which is O2, which is what we breathe in and out of of the air. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases oxygen saturation in your tissues. And, well, what does that do? Again? We've talked about this. Cancer cells thrive in low oxygen. When you increase the oxygen, cancer cells die. This also reduces inflammation, supports healing, supports just tissue regeneration, healing. So this is so powerful. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is one of the most powerful therapies on the planet for just healing almost anything you can imagine. Wounds, cancer, athletic injuries, infections of every type. I had a spinal infection almost died. And getting in a hyperbaric chamber almost every day helped save my life. And so it's a really powerful tool for lyme for long Covid for all of these different types of issues, but especially for cancer. Number number three, whole body hyperthermia, this is heat therapy. Now, this is done predominantly today in Switzerland, Germany and Spain. They have cancer clinics over there. That they don't have to hide. You couldn't even do this in the US or most doctors would lose their license. But basically, they get these. A lot of times it's these infrared panels. So imagine you get in an infrared sauna. Well, imagine one of those, but it's enclosed all around you like very small with those red light panels, and it heats your body up. And what they're trying to do there is mimic a fever, and that activates your immune system. And many cancer cells are heat sensitive. And hyperthermia weakens tumors while boosting NK cell function, according to a study published in an oncology medical journal. And so in the very similar thing, this is how your body kills a fever. You know, a lot of times I always coach my patients with this. So when I first opened up my functional medicine practice in Nashville, I would have patients and I would give them my cell phone and they would call me and say, hey, my son or my daughter, they've got an ear infection and their Temperature is at 102. And I would say, praise God, the body's healing itself right now, the body knows to increase the temperature unless the temperature ever got above, you know, that number 106. We just let the body do its thing. And you know what? Never once in my career of doing that and having that conversation with the patients hundreds of times did we ever have to take anything. I'm not to say there's never a one in a thousand times or one in a hundred thousand times where maybe, maybe you consider trying to cool them down a bit. So did you know when your body gets up above 100 degrees, your body starts creating a compound called interferon, which, this compound kills viral infections and kills cancer cells. So this is why if you get a virus, your body, your temperature goes up, your body is bringing up the heat to kill the infection. Your body's not getting hot. It's not like out of control. Like, the body is getting hot because it can't handle what's going on. The body is saying, okay, I'm going to keep raising the temperature until this virus or cancer cell that's threatening this body of mine until we kill it, until I know it starts to die off. That's why you get a fever. And so inducing a fever yourself that way with infrared saunas and infrared light. But even more so with this. Hyperthermia is something in many other countries they do for cancer therapies. Number four is IVs of vitamin C. Again, vitamin C works as a pro oxidant against Cancer cells, killing cancer cells. It actually helps generate hydrogen peroxide, which selectively damages cancer cells as well. So a lot of benefits there. Number five is immunotherapy. There is a type of therapy that my cousin got recently and you can look this up, it's called immunosine. This is the most powerful therapy. If somebody has any type of brain tumor, but especially glioblastoma, where they will go in, and I'm going to use this term, but it's not what you think it is exactly. They will create a cancer vaccine where they will look at your circulating tumors or what they'll actually do is they'll go and take, when the tumor is removed from the brain, they'll go and take those tumors and they will then create antibodies, they'll create a vaccine to those cells, those cancer cells, and then inject that into the body, the bloodstream and the survival rates of people that get this. It's called immunosine. And I've actually had the doctor on, his name is Dr. Matt Halpert. If you want to go back and watch this episode, we did an entire episode on ketogenic diet and this cancer vaccine, this immunotherapy for fighting cancer and it really is incredible. And so, but that's something that people can do is different types of immunotherapy. Now another type of immunotherapy my cousin will also do and I've had many other people do. I've actually had this therapy done myself once and it's called NK cell therapy where they'll take your blood, they'll take your own natural killer cells, they'll multiply them like you ferment something and then you inject it back to your bloodstream. And so now you have all these new, this new army introduced into your bloodstream that can go and kill cancer cells. And so NK cell therapy is another very powerful therapy for killing cancer cells. And then there's a few others I'm gonna mention just here very quickly. Red light therapy. This photobiomodulation has cancer prevention benefits and some anti cancer properties like infrared sauna and red light therapy, there are therapies that are more integrative, like low dose chemo, which I think is better than traditional, which is interesting too in IPT therapy. And then I want to mention sunlight and grounding. Spending more, more time in nature like they call it in Japan, forest bathing. The more time outside you spend, the better your body heals for the most part, okay. Especially in good weather. But I've had patients. Like when my mom had cancer, one thing her and my dad did is they took a lot more vacations. And when she was diagnosed with cancer, it was April. And my mom was a schoolteacher. And so one of the things I told her to do, I said, one, you only have two weeks left. They got a substitute teacher. Her and my dad went, and they spent time on the beach in Florida. We lived in Ohio at the time. Went and spent time on the beach in Florida constantly for the entire summer. They also did lake trips to this and went water skiing in this lake called Norris Lake in Tennessee. And my mom also got a horse and started doing horseback riding because she loved that as a kid. So we really focused on my mom getting out in nature, Animal therapy, nature therapy. And it was an incredible part of her healing process. But there's no doubt that the power of the sun that heals you via vitamin D, of course, grounding, standing on the earth reduces inflammation, gives your body more electrical charges, supports cellular energy, getting more oxygen. You're breathing better air. When you're outside, you're better oxygenation. And then just the changes of the heat and the cold and all the things that happen outside, it's just better for your body. The peace. What happens? The sound, the sound of the ocean waves crashing, the sound of silence in a wooded forest, this increases theta waves and these certain brain waves that cause your HP axis, this fight or flight response, to just drop in, balance out. Have you ever noticed that? Have you ever just gone and just sat at the beach and take a deep breath, and after a day or two, you're almost like this meditative level, like, you're at this level of, like, you can just tell your stress is just gone halfway through that vacation or a couple days in. The more you can get in that state, the more your body heals. And, you know, one of the best ways to do that is via spiritual connection to God. And I believe predominantly cancer is a spiritual disease. I think that when I think of the drivers, emotionally, it's driven by. By a lot of fear, a lot of anger and resentment, a lot of worry, a lot of grief of holding onto things in the past or things that happened to you in the past, different types of trauma you haven't been able to move on from. And those are all things that are related to our connection with God and the divine, our own identity, our purpose in life. And then when those things are off, it affects our mental health, causing us to be sick. And so if you truly want to heal cancer, you need to go back and look at. Are there things that happened in your past that still bother you today? Is it physical abuse? Is it emotional abuse? Is it some sort of major regret? Did you do something wrong and you've never confessed it? But going back and just forgiving everyone, forgiving yourself, repenting, connecting with, you know, somebody who is a spiritually mature person that can help walk you through healing from trauma that is so important. Then everyday stress, keeping that low, and then living in a state of joy and gratitude. When you're living in a state of fear and anxiety and depression and worry and anger, it makes you sick. There are study after study shows, and ancient history proves this as well. When you are experiencing negative emotions, it makes your organs and your body sick versus if you're living in a state of joy and peace and purpose and gratefulness, it's healing, it's healing to the body. So you need to get into that state. And some of the best ways to do that is via prayer, praise, reading, things that are moving, meditation, these help you heal. And so if you are going to prevent cancer or fight cancer, this is even more important than diet or think about it as the diet and the nutrition stuff, all the therapies, all the stuff we talked about, talked about is 50%, this is the other 50% that is going to allow you to heal. When my mom had cancer, we prayed for her every day to heal. She prayed for herself to heal. We had the church praying for her to heal. My mom was going to conferences and having even some well known pastors and people lay their hands on her and pray for supernatural healing. And I don't know if it was the diet that healed my mom or all the prayer or both, but my mom healed from her cancer. And so if you have cancer, do not leave out the spiritual aspect. I mentioned my friend Jordan Rubin. Jordan Rubin was praying every single day, all day. He had actually a prayer he wrote out. And what I had my mom do to heal her cancer is we had her visual. While she prayed, she would pray to God and then she would visualize God's spirit coming down and her immune system creating cells through that and killing off these cancer cells. She would picture it and then from there she would picture herself 20 years in the future bringing her kids to Disney World. There was a power of this sort of visualization. And then she would praise God in that moment, say God, thank you for healing me and spend time in praise and worship. And then she would meditate on Bible verses every day. I'm going to Go through a few of those with you in a minute, but focus on and do things spiritually that gets you in a state of joy and just cherishing God. There's a study on prayer. And by the way, the studies on prayer I don't think are ever typically probably that well done. But I do want to get into a few. This first one's a Harvard Medical school study in 2001, and it's known as the STEP study. And they wanted to look at intercessory prayer, Somebody praying for another person. Okay. And then mixed findings. They either found that intercessory prayer didn't significantly change health outcomes or did slightly. But patients did report across the board, which was significant, having more peace and less anxiety. Okay, that was one big study. And when I say big study, it was done on, I think, like, maybe 866 people. And then there was a Duke University study, and they did a study on prayer for. For people who needed healing. And they found that patients with strong religious beliefs included those who prayed regularly. Those people had less depression, less anxiety, better immune system function. So listen to that. Their immune systems were stronger if they personally prayed and improved greater quality of life. So this study found that actually praying strengthens somebody's immune system. There's another study. I'm going to go through two more studies here on prayer. There was a study published in 2005, and they found cancer patients who engaged in spiritual practices like prayer, meditation, scripture reading, had lower cortisol levels and improved mood during chemotherapy. Now, they didn't look at survival rates here at all, but they did find that people had lower cortisol. That's important for fighting cancer. And then there was a meta analysis done in 96 at Baylor University. And this is. They combined many studies together. Here's what they found. They found consistent evidence that religious involvement correlates with better coping mechanisms and sometimes longer survival rates in cancer patients. So they found, where they compiled all these studies together, people that had a level of faith in doing things like prayer, they lived longer. So even the Western medicine shows that prayer and faith help you heal. Now, I want to walk you this from a Christian perspective as well. And I do want to say this. You know, I've had so many people that I have helped navigate cancer, and they healed just doing the natural things. I've had people who've healed cancer and did a combination of conventional and the natural, and then I've had people that have done one or each of the other, and they didn't survive. And I think it's important to understand that, you know, while I think prayer is impactful and it makes a massive, massive difference, not every prayer might lead to physical healing. But I'll say this, it always leads to some form of healing, emotional, relational, spiritual. You know, Jesus often healed the body and the soul and sometimes he simply said, you, faith has made you whole. I mean, you know, Paul says, you know, you can't please God without faith. And I think we need to keep the awareness that God is still present and powerful even when the outcome isn't what we hope for. But I do believe for all of us that we should have the mind, that God wants us healthy, he wants us whole, he wants us healed again. The way that I always think about God is the way that I think about, like, how I am to my daughters. Like, I love my daughters so much. I would give my life for my daughters. Everything I'm trying to do is for their well being. And God wants, like I want my daughters happy. God wants me happy even more than I want my daughters happy. He wants me to win even more than I want my daughter's doing. Like, he loves me so much. And so I think that knowing that God, who he is, that he is constantly pursuing you and he loves you and he wants you to thrive and live the best life possible, both now and through eternity, that's how you should walk into cancer. You know, there's this principle and it's we become what we focus on or our reality becomes what we focus on. And I think it's absolutely true. And I think this is why in the Bible, you know, we see God, you know, talking to Abraham and say, hey, this is, you know, look at the stars of the sky. This is how numerous your descendants will be. And I think there's this element of being able to visualize and see this. And you get what you focus on, you get what you meditate upon. And one of the things my mom did is we had at the time, by the way, this is a while ago, we actually had a tape recorder and we tape recorded her saying these Bible verses and she would either say them herself or listen to them every night. But here are some of the Bible verses my mom meditated upon that you can as well. Jeremiah 30:17, it says this, but I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord. Isaiah 41:10. So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you then. Psalms 103:2 3, Bless the Lord O my soul, who forgives all your iniquity and heals all of your diseases. James 5:14,15 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders to pray over them. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well. Do that. Go to people, have them pray for you could even have them as we is also in this verses, anointing. Anoint your head with oil. It could be essential oils like frankincense, or even making the holy anointing oil blend. But go to somebody who is a spiritual elder and have them pray for you and believe you're made well. They said, when that's offered in faith, it'll make the sick person well. Exodus 15:26, I am the Lord your healer. Mark 5:34 Jesus said, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free from your suffering. In Isaiah 53, 5, the one that my mom meditated upon the most, but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon him. And by his stripes we are healed. By his stripes, we were healed. By the blood of Jesus, we're healed. And so meditating on that truth in reality and having faith and taking action. I think part of even all this stuff I shared today, if you're going to go and change your diet and do all these things, it's with the belief of, you know what, I'm going to heal because God's going to heal me, but he's going to use these things he created nature that he created to naturally sustain and grow. You know, this is going to be part of my healing process. It's going to be part of me and my faith, honoring God with my body and taking care of this temple that he's given me. And so there's an element of that there as well with that. But I think again, the key thing here is that your faith will heal you. Knowing that God is for you, not against you. God loves you. He's called you according to his purposes. And so believing that getting to know who God truly is more and spending time in prayer and meditation in praise is incredibly healing. And so I know I covered a lot of content today, but I think if you can kind of break it down into buckets, such as, number one, what's your diet like? Let's improve your diet. Okay. We covered some of the foods. You could write some of those down or think through, okay, what are the ideal foods I should be eating? You know, we talked about a lot More vegetables, a lot more fruit, wild caught salmon, you know, organ meats, those sort of things, those are the most healing for cancer. Number two, the herbs and supplements, right? We got green tea, we've got turmeric, you know, we have vitamin D, we have probiotics, right? So take a few of those, pick a few. And then some of the therapies, you know, that you might choose to do in the future. And then connecting to God via prayer, via meditation, via praise. And if you can do those things, I believe that you're going to be able to prevent cancer in most cases and in many cases as well. Give your best shot at healing from cancer. Listen, nothing in life is an absolute guarantee except for knowing that God loves you, he pursues you and we're just called to do our absolute best. So remember some of these principles. We need to keep blood sugar balanced, we need to reduce toxicity, we need to oxygenate the cell, we need to support mitochondrial health and cleansing of our systems like our detoxification system, like our liver and our immune system and our digestive system like our colon. And so if we can optimize these areas, your body has an immune amazing capacity to heal and even heal from cancer in many, many cases. Listen, none of these things are a guarantee. But I do guarantee you this, that doing these things gives your body a better shot at healing, getting younger and being your best. And I personally know what it's like to have somebody that goes through cancer again. My mom, one of my best friends, so many others I know that I've counseled over the years and I think a lot of times these sort of emotional mental strain. I think the way that conventional medicine handles it today, which is with actually fear and toxicity, it's not the answer. The answer is faith and honoring God with our bodies via these lifestyle changes that we've talked about today. So I just want to let you know as well, anybody that has cancer, right here, right now, I'm praying for your healing. I believe that God is doing a good work in you and don't leave any of these things out. If you want to heal, focus on that spiritual and mental component. Focus on that dietary and lifestyle component as well to optimize your healing. And I believe that you will be made. Well there are millions of people today who don't know the actual root causes of cancer. People tend to think it's just genetics. Well, we went through that research. It's actually much more tied to diet and co infections, in trauma and spiritual issues than anything else. And so we need to know the root cause if we're going to actually heal anything.
