Jared Freed
Hello and welcome to the jtrain podcast. This is J Train Jared Freed coming to you live from the West Village of Manhattan. That's right, every Thursday is a Pop Culture Thursday. We go through Page Six. That's right. This is the whole premise of this show. I go on page six, I click the headlines that look interesting and juicy to me and we talk it out. I love doing Pop Culture Thursday. I hope you guys enjoyed. I would love to hear feedback. The initial feedback was tape it the day before so that we can have as fresh a pop culture stories as possible. We made that change. I now, you know, to let you behind the curtains. I am taping this on Monday, December 16th at 6:25pm I'm always going to be open and honest with you. I was just looking at the calendar for the week tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm taping you up podcast and getting ahead for the end of the year so that we have new episodes every week of that show. And. And I was like, okay, when am I gonna have the energy for this Monday. I'm sitting here, I got time on my hands. And then I went to Page Six and I found some really fun articles. I saw some. So I was like, okay, let's do it today. Let's get it done. Let's. And the one article that made me like literally jump for joy is the first one we're gonna get into, Inside Craig Conover and Austin Kroll's new Charleston bar. By the way, killer cocktails, caviar, and more. I. You might be like, jared, what do you care about the two guys from Southern Charm opening a bar in Charleston, South Carolina? Well, my. One of my best friends, Keith Benjamin, is also. Is their co. Their partner. He's the one opening the bar with them. And I'm sitting here looking at Page Six, which is a New York City, New York paper. And I'm like, this is why you partner with Craig and Austin with their fame and their, you know, their influence, so to speak. Page Six and Craig and Austin, you know, a southern charm, a bravo. Liberty is to me, bravo. Liberties in Page Six. It's a symbiotic relationship. They're more than happy to make their life something to be talked about. And Page Six is a place where you go to see these things talked about. So they're an easy get for an interview. And Page Six has to put out headlines every day. Now, I will say this. Keith and I go way back. We went to summer camp together. We went to Penn State together. We lived in the city together. He, you Know, when I was going into comedy, he was like, I'm leaving. I'm going into the bar world. This is always, you know, he was like, I. He was bartending and then got into ownership of the. They have bars around here. Hair the Dog, down the hatch, off the wagon. If you've been in New York City, you've been to one of their bars or a bar group. Then he goes down to Charles. He says, I'm going to Charleston. I'm going. And I knew, and I'm so proud of him and what he's done. And I. When he went, he goes, I'm going to Charleston. We're going to open. Me and this group that has these bars in New York City. We're going to open another bar in. In Charleston. Because he. He loved it down there. And I knew. I was like, dude is going to be the mayor, no question. And he is that I would consider him the mayor. To me, he's the mayor of Charleston. I go down there. He knows. He. He embedded himself. He did the right thing. He, you know, he went and met all the people who own restaurants and bars, and he went. And, you know, this is from my viewpoint, outside in, but I've witnessed it. So. And he opened a place called Uptown Social, which, if you've ever been to Charleston, you've also been to Uptown Social. It is a fun bar. And then he becomes friends with these Southern charm guys, and he's like, you got to meet Craig and Austin, the good guys. Good guys. Reminds him. And he said, he's like, he would always say reminds. These guys remind us of. Of guys that would be in our fraternity at Penn State. We were in the same fraternity. Our type of guys. Good guys. Fun, like to go out, have a good time. Ball busters. I would say all my friends just like, making fun of one another. That's what we do. So it is. Then I. He introduced me to Craig and Austin and I was like, I like them immediately. I, you know, and again, I'm giving you my personal. I wouldn't say that if I didn't. I'm just saying, like, you, I've. I've watched scenes from Southern Charm. I don't know them from Southern Charm. I've seen their social media. I don't know them from social media. I know them from Keith putting us together and being like, you got to meet these guys. Good guys. And you guys are both in the entertainment space. You're both doing things on Instagram meet. And we've hung out. And they are. I I've been to Craig's house. We taped a podcast there. I would say I, you know, from my point of view, just good guys. And I'm. And so then Keith tells me they're going to open a bar together. And so this bar. Let's read the article. Southern Charm stars Craig Conover and Austin Kroll have teamed up with Uptown hospitality group. That's Keith. And you know, it's funny, I get excited, I'm like, look at, they're in Page Six, you know, and to open their new establishment, by the way, in Charleston, South Carolina, the Cozy Den. Now, okay, here's my inside knowledge of by the Way. I have heard from Keith. He gave me a quote. I texted Keith. I go, Keith, give me a quote to add into Pop Culture Thursday. Here's his quote. He got very quoty, okay, we built this place for guys and gals like me and you. And then he puts my name in front Jared that no longer want to have the DJ blow them out of the building. The food is incredible, the vibes are immaculate and the martinis are freezing fucking cold. Just like J Train loves them. That's Keith's quote here on the Pop Culture Thursday episode of the J Train podcast. An exclusive quote to us. I will add in if you like the Spaniard. It seems like they have gone for a Spaniard look in. And the Spaniard is like a New York City bar that's packed every night. It seemed like they looked at that and they go, this is what people want of a certain age. And I call the Spaniard the 27 year old embassy. And you know, I'm 39 saying that. And on a Tuesday night it's people who don't. Again, the DJ not blowing you out. And even this article, I mean this article is probably via a PR agent I am sure but I would say Craig and Austin's PR agent and Page Six are probably friends. Easy layup for a slow news day. The Cozy Den opens its doors last Thursday. I was invited to the opening. I think it's. Was the opening tomorrow. I think it's tomorrow night. There's some party that was invited to and Keith was like come. And I was like, I couldn't do it. I got. I gotta tape Pop Culture Thursday for you guys. The. The. The Cozy Dead opened his doors last. They must have another an opening last Thursday with an intimate party attended by guests like the dynamic duos Southern Charm co stars, Shep Rose, the Vanita Aspen, Rodrigo Reyes. I don't know these people because I don't watch the show, but I'm not saying that to be above it. I'm just saying these are probably names if you watch Sally Carson, Ryan Albert as well as Southern hospitality stars T.J. dench and Bradley Carter. Craig and I are ecstatic to partner up with Uptown. First of all, they should be excited to partner up with Uptown Hospitality Group. Keith has been a huge success there and I think they're, they're saying, you know, it seems as though they're like, hey, listen, we can get your visibility with our knowledge of the industry and let's make a power establishment to share. Craig and I are ecstatic to partner with the Uptown Hospitality Group to share our idea of the ideal all day, all night neighborhood. Hang a spot where friends old and new come together on the regular for good food, killer drinks and great fun, Kroll 37 said in a statement. And then they show it. It's a good looking bar. Again, the Wood. It's reminiscent of if you've been to the Spaniard, similar look. The bar nestled just one block away from trendy King street in the buzzy Cannonborough Elliot Borough neighborhood. That's a lot, that's a lot of words in that sentence. Serves up comfort cuisine and craft cocktails and is open seven days a week late into the night. Oliver Hasselgrave of the Brooklyn based interior architecture and design firm Home Studios was behind the aesthetic. Yeah, this is, this is a, this is a Page Six pimping in New York. It's so, and to me what's exciting about is like if you're going to get your thing, your bar written up in New York and Page Six, it's just telling people, okay, and this was always Keith, what he, you know, where are you going to? You know, there's other places to go in Charleston. But this is like, okay, when I, when I tell people how to plan like a bachelor bachelorette party, I'm always like have tent poles, have the places you can go and just know it's going to be okay and everyone's going to be happy. This seems like that type of place. I'm looking at pictures. The entrees. Okay, let's, let's take a look at the menu. Let's see what we would let's talk food. The entree served with best with a side of shoestring fries. I am a fan of the Shoestring are elevated versions of classic tavern fare dreamed up by executive chef Marcus Schell. Main dishes include a burger topped with tomato jam, caramelized onion and cheddar. You can't go wrong with a burger. Steak frites with garlic butter. I'm not. And chimichurri side. I'm not getting that at a bar. A duck confit sandwich with a cranberry duck jelly. Not for me. Wild mushroom ravioli. We know. My opinion on ravioli. Standout appetizers. I'm probably more. Listen, I'm not trying to talk shit. I'm saying I'm an appetizer guy. Stand up. Appetizers on the menu include French onion dip and kettle chips. I'm in for that. That, to me, that's a good appetizer. Order two for the table. For a big table. Brown butter crab crostini. Interesting. Stuffed Caesar salad. Love that. Foxton wings with ranch and fried oysters and caviar with citrus creme. Fresh into it. Love all those. Yeah, I'm looking at pictures. They got pictures of the food. What a win. Happy to talk about it here on the J Train podcast. Pop Culture Thursday. Okay, let's keep going. If you're listening now, we'll keep going. Gigi Hadid had rat problem in New York City apartment. Looking forward to renovating to prevent rodents. To me, I'm like, why would this be a story in the, in Page Six other than, I don't know. I, I, to me, this is like one of those, like New York. When you live in New York, you go, you go, oh, good. At least Gigi Hadid has a rat issue too. Like, the rat issue is, you know, you go, oh, if I saw a mouse in my apartment, I'd be like, what the, Am I living in squalor? But no, this is New York. This is, you can't avoid it. You, whether you're Gigi Hadid, supermodel and daughter of a billionaire, or, you know, Jared with one plastic bowl and a fork in a studio apartment, Gigi Hadid is dealing with quintessential New York problem again. Quintessential. The 29 year old supermodel revealed in a recent Architectural Digest interview that she had to renovate her apartment due to rodents. My outdoor space in New York is getting a little update because we had a rap problem in New York and some of the original designs of the space didn't help that problem. She told the outlet when asked what she would change about her space. So that's what I'm looking forward to. She added, see, I'm looking at the article and then they show pictures of her apartment. What is, I just don't understand what the, the incentive is for Gigi Hadid to show her apartment in an Architectural Digest other than this is. You know, I guess when you do work to your home, it is your art piece and you do want to show it off. New York City's fight against rats has ramped up in recent years with the mayor, with Mayor Eric Adams even appointing an official rat czar in 2023. That was the story in September. City Council also approved a bill to lace wrath traps with rodent birth control to halt the growing rodent population, meaning Hadid is far from the only one dealing with this issue. No, she is not. Well, it's unclear whether the rats infiltrated her living space as well. The catwalker thankfully has another home in Pennsylvania where she could flee. Well, thank God, thank God, thank goodness. She described her interior design style as eclectic industrial farmhouse in the interview, but noted that it has shifted over years. So they show her couch. It does look like a comfortable couch. I will say wide, long, there's room to lay out. They show just pictures of her. I would love to see more of the apartment. I mean we all want to see the apartment. Hadid purchased a two bedroom apartment for 3.9 million in 2015 and a townhouse in the same building for 5.8 million in 2018. Wow. I mean I'm looking at the kitchen. This would look like it's in a mansion in suburb, not in New York City. When you see suburb stuff in a New York City apartment, you know it is a substantial place. Now if you're listening to the podcast, I am going to be in Batavia, Illinois this weekend. I got five shows. Two of them are already sold out. Thank you. It's my last weekend of the year for Stand Up. If you want to come see me on the road, I have Portland, Oregon is the first week of the year. Phoenix, Arizona. It's fun to have, you know, have them go, what is this? What are you, you know It's a conversation starter. Here's the thing about calling home. You don't got much to talk about. You got what'd you do today? Have you gone to the doctor? When are you going to do this thing that I've been bothering you about? Ara Frame actually improves the conversation you will have with your family because you're going to put it in their house and then you're all going to be on the app and you can upload pictures whenever you want. These are all questions I'm getting. So it's actually improved my life to get an aura frame because now my mom has other things. What's that picture from? Oh, you what? What was that that you put on the frame when all said and done, the memories. It's the memories that mean the most to us. He did not do anything. Now, to me, Tom Sandoval is not going to get the benefit of the doubt in any of these articles. I didn't even know he was accused. To me, when I see that article headline, Tom Sandoval is known for Vanderpump rules, but now his fame is really guy who cheated on woman on a reality show. Like, if you were to think of like, how do you know, John? Like, I knew of Tom Sandoval and I'm have a toe in this world, you know, and now there's only one. So when I see a headline like this, he was, you know, like, was he accused of cheating? Again, this isn't a positive article for him. To me, this is just, oh, he has issues in his next relationship. Not, oh, must be a good guy now. So to me, I do think part of this is like in the world of any news is good news. Like, at least they're talking about you. Like, Tom Sandoval probably knows this is probably from his team to like the idea that his story like that he cheated on this next woman. It wasn't a story, but Tom Sandoval is like, okay, at least they'll write about me if I'm connected to a cheating story. To me, this is from him. Tom Sandoval's girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson backpedaled after sparking rumors that the Vanderpump Rule alum had cheated on her. I would like to sincerely apologize for my previous post. What did she pose? Robin Robinson wrote in a statement shared to her Instagram story on Monday. I had a true misjudgment in the situation, she continued. Tom did not do anything. What did. What is the. What did he get accused of the Model 32. I mean, she is beautiful, this guy. Everyone was like, no one will date him again. Then he's with a model. The model 32 said her personal trauma and experiences hearing false accusations about Sandoval, 42 in the past had clouded her judgment. Got the best of her. Please respect him and know he's actually been the most supportive partner. I mean, we don't know. I'm sorry that she's going through past trauma. I just don't. None of this is believable from. We're just hearing a two people fight and make up in public and that's what he does. Again, what is the incentive for them as a couple. Like I listen, the light shined brightest when he was going through a cheating scandal. So now how do we get, you know, again, any good news is good news. At least they're talking about you. How do I get that light back? Oh, let's, you know, this is what it's, it's no, it's no surprise that the next thing you read about is something like this about it. Robinson's clarification came after she suggested Sunday that she and Sandoval had called it quits on their relationship and alluded to the reality star having been unfaithful. So they were going through a fight and she knew how. What's the best way to get people on your team Listen, we don't know. And listen, I'm not taking aside, I'm not saying whether it's true or false. We are just witnessing a fight in the news. Wow, you guys are right. Tiger never changes its stripes. He loves the best friends. He loves the best friends. Apparently she wrote in a since deleted Instagram story. I mean that is damning. I feel like a fool. Completely heartbroken, man. Also, she made her account private and unfollowed Sandoval. This is a public fight. Like to me this is Tom Sandoval. All this says to me is this guy is probably a tough person to date. Adding fuel to the fire, the Bravo Liberty deleted all photos with Robinson from his Instagram and unfollowed her as well. Like this is all like, like normal couples healthy coup. Healthy people who have healthy relations don't do this stuff. This is the group, the friend in the group who always does this. He also hosted a brief Instagram live earlier Monday in which he spoke cryptically about their relationship. Yet after attending a bush concert together in Chicago, the pair began dating in 2023, marking Sandoval's first known relationship since his infamous months long affair with Rachel. Rachel Raquel Lee Levis came to light. Sandoval and his ex girlfriend had been Ariana Miotics. I again, she is right. Tiger doesn't change the stripes. Tiger this his stripes are drama with a girlfriend. So let's do another one. Prince Harry and Meg. I'm not again, I'm not predisposed to like Prince Harry at all. I think he's a prince and I just think when he left, you know, left quote unquote the him and Meghan Markle left the Royal family. They left at a the most opportune time for someone to leave. That is my opinion because they knew they could make money off of their name without having to answer to the royalty. This little thing called social media made it a lot easier for him. If there's no social media, they're not leaving the family the family business. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle gave a rare look. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle share a family Christmas card with rare photo of Archie and Lilibet. I don't. Is that how you say that name? Lilibet. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave a rare look at their two children, their families 2024 Christmas card. Now I am. I have a friend of mine is I talk about this on you up but I'll mention it here again. He loves these Christmas cards and it has been a dream of his and I'll include myself. I've joined in on that dream to like rank the friend Christmas cards. So we're going to do this on Christmas Day. We're going to get drunk and he is married with no kids and I'm me alone in my studio apartment. So it is our friends that we've told about this are not excited about it at all. We've. We've said to them, you know, we're going to rank the Christmas cards. And they've all. You can tell, like all the husbands are like, why would you do this to us? Why would we want. We don't know. They don't trust us to do this without being mean, which we will. We're not going to be mean. But then I told. I called my buddy who the baby. He does our movie reviews. He does our movie reviews here on the J Train podcast. The baby. I was like, let's include Prince Harry and Meghan's Christmas card in the rankings and maybe we'll make people feel better because we'll do some celebrities. And I'm looking on behalf of the Prince Harry and Meghan and Meghan. Does he still go by Prince Harry? I thought they left. This is funny. Here's what it says. On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are Archwell Productions and Archewell Foundation. What can you imagine your production company being on the family Christmas card? What is this the office of as if they had nothing to do with this. We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year. To me that's like unlikable. And the way they get around it is, oh, the Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation. That's where we give our money. We're good people, you know, they the shield of. This is our. You know, this is where we give to charity. But also, why even. Why even put the production company. And it shows picture now? Let's just say the rare photo of the kids is them holding the kids. I guess there's a few things that are just weird about this. Putting R12 productions on the card. Weird. I also think it's weird to call it a rare photo of their kids. Are there people out there that are like, treating photos of the royal kids as if they're like rookie baseball cards, like, they gotta see it. Is someone excited by that? Like, I'm. I'm thinking of who this is for. Oh, my God. Have you seen the picture of the new kids? Like, there are royals people. I do know that. And they got cute kids. But, like, what. In what world is this, like a big deal for someone? That's where I get a little like what? Harry was focused to hit back at divorce speculation earlier this month, joking that he and the former actress have apparently bought or moved a house 10 or 12 times and divorced maybe 10 or 12 times as well. So that means. That's his comment. The former military pilot said that attention on their union is not a good thing. Right. If you read it. But here's what I would say to Harry. You left. Did he leave? I don't know. Because they call themselves the, the. The Archduke of Sussex, whatever the fuck it is. Here's the thing. You can't say, hey, we want to come out and have a production company and we want to do a reality show of our life, and we want to make money off of our name. And then get. When people are. Feel like they have some sort of right to talk about your name. But, like, I think, like, I guess, no, I wouldn't. I don't know if I would agree with this. What I was about to say. I was about to say I would think, I understand. While in the royal family, you'd be like, okay, enough already. But the royal family is the, is the, you know, the, the. The public. They're the publicity wing of the English people, kind of, you know, they bring in tourism and they're part of that. But when you're born into it, you don't have a choice. But then your choice is to go use your name to go make money. But how else would you make money? I guess you could go into finance. You could go to become a. But I guess if you're a prince, you can't go into finance. Right? I guess this is a problem. How do I feel Bad for Prince Harry. Now he didn't even have a choice. Victoria Beckham Clears the Air on Plastic Surgery Rumors did she go under the knife or is it just clever contouring? Now when I read that title, I think it's a genius title because me, a person who really doesn't care about Victoria Beckham getting plastic surgery, I think anyone should get whatever makes them feel better. That is my I'm not even trying to be a hero. I'm just saying, like, plastic surgery rumors don't really get me as far as like my, you know, negativity brain. But I do want to know. Maybe she's so good at contouring that this is something. But also, who cares? She's beautiful, she's angular. She's already me. If I became a contouring person who knew how to contour to hide. My double chin is different. During Monday's episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, the former Spice Girl singer doubled down on never getting a nose job, despite people questioning her looks over the years. There's been a lot of people in the past, this is what they're talking about on the news show. Who care who's talking about her nose job? Who's There's a lot of people in the past that have said to me that I've had some kind of surgery on my nose, she said in a pre taped interview. The interview honestly looks like she is running for office and it's about her not getting a nose job. Pre taped interview with Zaina Roberts Rossi while discussing makeup tips and tricks. I have never ever asked. Ever, ever, ever had anything. Never, she says. Ever three times. Never ever, ever, ever had anything. No, never. I guess you have to be adamant if you're going to go and sell. Beckham50 then credited her clever contouring skills for making her nose appear a certain way. And that's when you get into selling. And if you want to contour, you can buy. Let's see what she's selling. I swear to God she's gonna be selling the the Victoria Beckham beauty founder, okay, who does her own makeup 95 of the time, frequently posts tutorial videos on social media showing fans how she how she contours and creates her signature looks. Despite what would my signature look might be like sloppy, hung up, hangover chic. Despite her step by step videos, the fashionista has still found herself having to address cosmetic surgery rumors from time to time. People have also said that I have had a nose job. Never had a nose job. I've always had a nose like this, it is the nose trick, she explained in December 2022 YouTube video with celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury. Although Beckham has denied ever getting rhinoplasty, she has owned up to getting breast implants. Well, the mom of four penned a letter to her 18 year old self for British Vogue in 2017, expressed regret in initially denying the speculation. Oh, so she did deny. Yeah, I could understand the regret. I should probably say don't mess with your boobs, she wrote at the time. All those years I denied it. Stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you've got and what you've purchased. I think it's okay to celebrate the you love your new boobs. That's okay. RFK Jr. Now I am not an RFK guy. This guy seems the voice alone is just tough RFK Jr. S unusual workout gear causes spectacle at swanky NYC Equinox so he goes to NYC Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Seems to be taking a page out of Lenny Kravitz's book of workout gear. The health nut Politico has been spotted working out at the luxe Equinox Hudson Yards in tight jeans and hiking boots, looking like a construction worker, a pa, A source told Page Six. Okay, do we have so then they show him in jeans and a T shirt. He works out really hard lifting weights and he does the treadmill. He wears tight jeans, a FIT source said. Kennedy's unusual exercise garb apparently caused quite the stir at the workout mecca, particularly among younger gym goers who didn't recognize the political scion. If you're running in jeans and hiking boots, I just don't understand it. RFK worked out shirtless at Gold's Gym in California this month. Here's him shirtless. This guy ran for president. Some people didn't know who he was and were like, who's that older guy? Yeah, listen, if he's lost his that's a crazy why wouldn't you? Jeans aren't even comfortable to work out at. He looked like a construction worker in tight jeans and a T shirt. Kennedy, 70, recently arrived to the Manhattan gym flank by three security guards. We're told no members of the club were entertained and chuckling at the sight of him running on the treadmill in his hiking boots, laughing at this guy. This guy's gonna be the reason there's no fluoride in the water. The sighting was reminiscent of Kravitz, the rock icon that was spotted strength training at the same location last year, working on a tracksuit paired with sunglasses and black motorcycle boots. Yeah, I remember that photo. I guess if that's his thing, is okay. I don't know. That's one of those things, like, where I'm like, okay, if you wear jeans to the Y to play in a pickup basketball game, I'm going to think you're a little crazy and shouldn't be, like, in charge of anything. Now this story, to me, I feel for this woman. Heisman winner Travis Hunter says fiance Leanna Lani got drunk, cried herself to sleep following Internet criticism. So Travis Hunter just won the Heisman? Deservedly so. The guy plays both cornerback and receiver at Colorado. He's fantastic. And then I did get sent a video of, like, all the Heisman finalists, their girlfriends taking a picture together. I didn't know. Here's. Here's who I feel bad for. Person who ends up on the Internet who then has to read about themselves without wanting to be on the Internet in that wide of a way. Because I'm sure she posts pictures. I'm sure she posts for her friends. I'm sure she has a couple of admirers on social media who. Because I'm sure she's beautiful and. But that's like. That's like. Like a little. That's fine. And I'll always reference this. When it comes to a story like this, they say if you have 10,000 followers or 10 million, you feel it the same way, which I think is very interesting. So. Travis Hunter said his fiance, Liana Lani got drunk and cried herself to sleep after she received harsh online criticism from fans following his Heisen Trophy win over. What would she get criticism for? She's still sleeping. She's slumped, the Colorado Buffalo star told viewers during a live Twitch stream Sunday, per a video shared on X. You know when you're hurt, but you just cry yourself to sleep and you just be gone. She. She drunk like an OD amount tonight for no reason. She. He shared at, I hope not an overdose amount, adding that Leni would be up in the morning. In the first half of the livestream, Hunter, 21, defended his fiance against the hate she received for her past comments on the relationship and her seemingly rude behavior of public events. How is she? What did she do? What could she have said? She's beautiful. You ain't never had no girl, so why are you all talking about me? The wide receiver said. Find something else to talk about. Go talk about your girl. Go find a girl. Go find a life. Stop worrying about what I got going on. I know what I got, dude. I feel for Him. This is. That is someone being like, hey, you're making my life hard talking about my girlfriend. You've. Because I'm sure he's arguing with his girlfriend about, like, hey, it's okay. Now he's dealing with someone who's upset. He wants to hook up with his girlfriend after he won the Heisman, and now she's, like, upset because some guy who can't fucking get a girlfriend of his own is like, ooh, she's mean. Hunter said Leni has Lenae. Lenny has been with him for five years, and the public is just start. Just now starting to talk about him. And he then called out clickbait sites for creating false narratives about his relationship. Clickbait pages. Stop. Y'all better stop. I'm telling y'all. Something bad is gonna happen to y'all if you keep. Y'all better stop that. I ain't playing like. That is a guy who's annoyed that his relationship is being interrupted by outside, you know, interference. Y'all hate on me. And especially if you don't like Colorado, then you go after him, and then you're like, well, how do I get at him? Well, I go after his girlfriend, who has less followers and can see my comments. That's the. The real disgusting part of this. The discourse surrounding Hunter and Linnae's relationship heightened last week after a 2022 video resurface of the couple reflecting on what when they first started dating. In the clip, Lenae Liana admitted that she wasn't initially interested in Hunter, who slid into her DMs. That is the story every woman tells, too. And that's okay. That's not. That is every our story page on a wedding website. At first I wasn't into him then, right? I just didn't respond to him. He wasn't my type. She confessed before saying that she finally gave him one of his messages. This is the story every woman also tells herself. This makes it more romantic. He pined for me. That's why I gave in. And I saw the real, you know, person that. That. That I wasn't really into at first. Fans also criticized Linae for not giving Hunter a standing ovation when his name was called the Heisman Trophy winner. Oh, God, I feel bad for him, too. Like, they've been together five years. That means she's not that impressed by him. That's. That's what happens. Then you have these nerds weighing in. Jim Carrey walks back his comments on retiring and needing money. Can you imagine if Jim Carrey needs Money. We should all just jump off a cliff. That is crazy. You can't be definite about these. These things. That's the. This is the title. This is. This is an annoying title. You. The Jim Carrey thing. It does seem like he's a weird dude. It does seem like he has one quote that, like, went viral. That's become, like a motivated, motivational quote. I can't remember what it was. And people then associate that with him being like this. He's. You go back and watch. You watch Ace Ventura and you're like, this is the most talented person alive. You do. You go, this is someone who carried a whole. A whole movie was created based on. Let's just let this guy cook. Jim Carrey's decision to retire isn't so black and white. The beloved actor, 62, backtracked his 2022 comments about being fairly serious about retiring, admitting that it's hard to officially leave show business. You can't be definite about these things. He recently told ComicBook.com I said I'd like to retire, but I was. I think I was talking more about power resting. Because as soon as a good idea comes your way or a group of people that you really enjoyed working with and stuff, it's just things tend to change. Yeah, I don't think. Well, what. He's walking back. The idea that if you say the idea of you say I'm retiring and then you come back and you have to apologize to anyone is crazy. It's not really about the money. I joke about the money, but I never know. He added, referencing the interview with the Associated Press where he joked he only took on sonic the Hedgehog 3 because he needed money. To me, that's a misquote for anyone to see him on a red carpet. Now I feel bad because, again, I've been fooled as well when I read the title that Jim Carrey says he doesn't, you know, needed the money. That's why he's, you know, not retiring or whatever. It's a bad title. When you're on the red carpet for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Okay. And you haven't worked really all that much. People assume it's because it was a ton of money given to you. They dropped a big sack of dough. And now Jim Carrey, who is a comedian and funny person, knows, is aware of the joke of people going, he must need the money. And he said he tells the joke that should be told. I think this is such an unfair thing to Jim Carrey. However, the comedian doubled down on his sarcasm telling comics.com that he gambled away his millions. Flea, flea circuses are my thing. I listen Team Jim Carrey I didn't start this way. I am now. While it's unclear how much he was paid for his latest film, Carrie once made 20 million per project. In fact, the 20 million back in the 90s to the actor already has his next movie lined up. He's currently in pre production for David Robert Mitchell's Mystery, Evergreen Pines and the Fading Summer. I'm always going to be interested in what Jim Carrey's doing. Also, it says after that's finished he would be open to playing the Grinch again thanks to the advancement in cgi. I will say this, when you see those Grinch clips come back up around this time of year, you're like, man, he is good. Timothee Chalamet recreates iconic Bob Dylan look with blonde hair at a Complete Unknown NYC premiere so I didn't know that there was this like Bob Dylan look that existed. Is this a joke? So two decades ago the singer donned the look at the premiere of his film Mass and Anonymous so I will say the picture of Bob Dylan is ridiculous. It's him and like a and they like a hat. Like a winter hat with a coat and a to redo. It is funny, but if it isn't funny, I guess he is playing him in a movie. It's a little weird. You've already played him. You don't have to come dressed as him to the premiere. Legendary said one while Instagram praised his work. I guess you do it for the Instagram picture. Iconic and other quipped Ate that bones and all referencing Chalamet's 2022 cannibal movie. I don't know. Well, I don't know if that's a reference to that. He mirrored the musician's outfit as well, donning a Celine. The hair is like the main thing. Did they ask him about it? I love the commitment to the bit. Yeah, but I want to know what he has to say. Like what was the plan here? I just wanted if it's to honor him, it's a little weird. If it's to make fun of him, that's fun. Recently, Dylan himself shared his thoughts on X, formerly Twitter, about the film, giving Chalamet's portrayal his stamp of approval. There's a movie about me coming out soon called A Complete Unknown. What a title, dylan wrote. Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role. Timmy's a brilliant actor, so I'm sure. He's going to be a completely, completely believable as me or a younger me or some other me. The film, which stars Elle Fanning, Edward Norton and Monica Barbara, hits theaters in Christmas. I will say this, consider me a Timothee Chalamet fan. This guy, he went on ESPN college game Day. If you followed me for any amount of time, you know I am a huge fan of ESPN college game day. I watched less this season, but I watch it every year. I've watched it forever. He went and did the picks the other week. I think last week was it. Not last week, but the week before. He was unbelievable. He brought energy. He had all this information. He was truly a show. He had a cool. I loved his winter jacket. He had this, like pink and black winter jacket on. He looked good. It proved two things to me. This guy gets it, knows how to bring it, when he should bring it. It also said to me that Timothee Chalamet might have a photographic memory. He knew things about these teams that no regular. He's either the biggest college football fan in the world or someone was like, hey, read these over and here are some bullet points about what to say. Like, if you go on college game day and you do the picks, you pick like 10 games, eight games. He had information about every team. He wasn't reading off a page. He was ready to go. He must. And I think to be a great actor, you do have to have a photographic memory. I think you do. I. I think you have to have like a kind of a superpower to all those scripts. We'll do one more story or two more. Travis Kelce showered Taylor Swift with these special gifts for her 35th birthday. Now, if you've listened to pop culture Thursday before, you know that when it says exclusive, it is my belief that Page Six has someone in the group that they know they've been served this news item. That is not an investigation. They did. Someone came to them with an item. So when I see Travis Kelce shower Taylor Swift with these special gifts for her 35th birthday exclusive, someone's trying to sell something to me. I don't know if it's Travis. I don't know if it's Taylor because honestly, why would they share with us the gifts that they showered each other with? I and I also. What do you even get the woman who has everything or can get anything to me? I would an experience gift. They're under a year. I. That would be my suggestion for them. But Travis Kelce showered his girlfriend, Taylor Swift with several Special birthday gifts for her 35th birthday last week, a source tells Page Six exclusively. Okay, so they have someone. This is from a PR agent. We hear that the Kansas City Chiefs star spared no expense for the Bad Blood singer special day on December 13th. He had jewelry engraved especially for Taylor. He gave her countless roses and showered her in gifts. The insider tells us Travis went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. If they know the brand of the jewelry, then this is a sales job. If they don't, this is to tell us how great Travis Kelsey is. This is from his team. The source adds. He had his beautiful. His gifts delivered beforehand so they would be a surprise. Everything was decorated beautifully with flowers everywhere. We're told the tight end also hired a private chef and bartender to cook and make cocktails for them. I like that. Good touch. Page Six has reached out to reps for both Kelsey and Swift, but not immediately have not heard back. We exclusively reported Saturday that the Grammy winner and the three time Super bowl champ, also 35, privately celebrated her birthday with just two of them. A source told us at the time that Kelsey got the pop star a ton of gifts and that he left the chief's mandatory Christmas party early to go be with Swift. Page Six also exclusively reported that the tight end wanted to make his girlfriend's milestone birthday extra special despite their hectic schedule. This is his. This is why it's tough to like I. I buy their relationship, but it is tough when it's like a story like this came from, hey, let's make Travis well liked. To me, it's the PR agent for his podcast. An insider told us Kelsey had been shopping for Christmas and birthday gifts for Taylor for quite a while now. Was picking up items. Picking up items here and there for the past several months. They make it sound like he was at the mall. No, no. Someone bought a bunch of stuff for him to give to her. Some of the gifts are things Taylor has casually mentioned she would like. Yeah, okay. Now he's doing every woman's dream. Every woman's dream is to have their boyfriend hear things they casually mention and then have a thoughtful gift that goes with it. This is. This is about liking Travis Kelsey. This is about getting the public to go, we love him. He is great. Now I'm gonna listen to his podcast. The day before her birthday, Swift visited the Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. According to videos shared online, the cruel summer songstress, who rocked a matching plaid mew mew skirt, said met with several patients. Okay, yeah, they're the best people alive. He's a great boyfriend. She visits the hospitals. During the visit, Swift gushed over Kelsey while chatting with a young patient. I like Travis now. The young girl said, right, because you read Page Six. Okay, last one. Not from page six, but I'm just, I'm interested in just talking about this, the NBA Cup. The NBA cup is down in ratings. So there was a couple articles about the NBA Cup. If you don't know, this is the in season NBA tournament. And they said that ratings, that the ratings are down 10%. And I've listened to and so listen, I am not surprised that the NBA cup, which started last season and was a big success and the first season you're going to watch it, you're going to go, what is this? And it's an in season tournament that you're not really sure how people make it or don't make it, whatever. And then this season it goes down because, okay, the bloom is off the rose. We saw it once, it was fine, whatever. I've seen commercials for the NBA cup and it's like it is an acknowledgment that the NBA knows they have a problem. I'm reading these two articles that it's like, who cares about the ratings? Who cares about the ratings? Okay, they have a problem with. In the, in the commercial made by the NBA and espn, it says, we're at the NBA cup finals and they care about it. There's a line where it's like, we care. You know, these players really care about it. So you are fighting the general thought that your players don't work or play hard in games. There's a competition problem, and that's people only care about things where they feel something is on the line. Especially as a sports fan. My solution, this is the easiest solution. No one brings it up except me. You have every team represented by one food or like a restaurant or a fast food restaurant. One sponsor. Every team has a sponsor. And if they win the cup, the sponsor gives to the city that they are from an item or a meal. If the Boston Celtics, NBA cup was sponsored by Dunkin Donuts and the Celtics thing was like, hey, if we win, everyone gets an iced Dunkachino. Do they even have Dunkin Chinos anymore? If that was it, people would be in the crowd. Have you ever seen when they do a thing at a game where they're like, if they steal a base, you get a taco, the place goes fucking nuts. You ever watch the Dr. Pepper halftime show where they, you know, shoot the baskets. You ever watch when someone goes on the court to shoot a half court shot? Everyone zones in the crowd goes wild. This in season tournament is for nothing. Make it for the fans. Dunkin Donuts represents the Celtics. If the Celtics win the city of Boston. Every Dunkin Donuts within this area code or this zip code is gonna get. You can walk in and get a small coffee for free. That's all it would take. And then Dunkin Donuts gets promotion. The NBA gets viewership in the area especially interest Wouldn't it be awesome if like Buc EE's is that the name of the truck stop was the Oklahoma City Thunder sponsor bukies buc EE's walking any if thunder win buc EE's you gotta you got a pack of gum. Taco Bell you know represents one of the other teams. You have what's in Chicago. You have the. The you know what's Chicago. Portillo's in Chicago. If they win, you get a hot dog. Tell me where I'm wrong here pop culture Thursday back next week. Boom.
