You're a nosy. You want the full sitch? Come to Pop Culture Thursday. Hello and welcome to the J Train Podcast. This is J Train Jared Freed coming to you live from Adelaide, Australia. That's right, every Thursday is a Pop Culture Thursday. We go to page six, I look at some headlines, I click on the headlines that speak to me and I kind of trust that those headlines would speak to you. And what do I do? I read through the articles and I comment on them as if, you know, I'm a straight dude and I'm probably more in the know than your average straight dude, maybe your boyfriend or the guy you're seeing. So it's going to. But I don't know a lot. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm versed, but I'm not as versed as maybe like your most online friend. So that's who's commentating on these stories. And if you've been here before, you know that you know who I am. If you're a first timer, I'm just kind of letting you know what a Pop Culture Thursday episode is. We do this show Daily Mailbag Monday, ticked Off Tuesday, where you send your complaints. Mailbag Monday, that explains itself. Ticked Off Tuesday, you ticked off. Well, message me and if you have a pop culture story you want me to go over, or if you have a ticked off Tuesday or a Mailbag Monday, you know, chit chat Wednesday, if you have a guest you want me to have on. We had Jay Jordan was on yesterday, so I hope you enjoyed that episode. I'm in Australia, so I'm these are a little bit shorter, a little bit tighter. I'm looking at Adelaide. Coffee with J Train is on Fridays. That's the Friday episode. You'll be getting that tomorrow. If you're listening to this on Thursday, that's my diary. That's where I tell stories from the week that you got to pay for. You go to patreon.com Jared Freed. That is growing, which is very nice. Thank you. Five bucks a month gets you the Friday episode every, every week. And it gets you first dibs on ticked off Tuesday. You're going to hear on tomorrow's coffee with J Train. A packed week of Australia and highs and lows and how it feels to travel alone for work and then to try and have fun and see the sights. I'm in Adelaide. I should be in Brisbane, you might say. Jared, why aren't you in Brisbane? Well, there is a once in a not decade. They said it's the biggest Cyclone to hit Brisbane in 70 years. And it just so happened to show up right when I was supposed to be there. So I'll have that whole story about how the trip had to change. And I. If you're listening in Brisbane, I'm sorry. I feel bad. I hate, I hate canceling shows. I hate. Makes me feel anxious. It makes me feel badly. There's a lot of decisions that go into it. There's a lot of. And the, a lot of decisions. There's one decision, do you cancel or not? But it's all kind of on me. And so I am the one calling the shot. And I feel badly. I don't know if I'm right or wrong. I don't know. I'm not the weatherman. I asked someone, I asked someone at the airport yesterday. I, I mean, I'll get this. There's so much stories to tell. So, I mean, it starts with last week, golfing in Melbourne, which feels like a hundred years ago. I'm, I'm going on and on. This isn't the show. Let's do Pop Culture Thursday. If you want to sign up for Patreon, go ahead. We have one ad. I'm going to do the one ad, and then I'll get into the, the first story. Let's just do the first story. This one got sent to me by a friend, Meghan Markle. I, I, you know, page Six has a whole royal section. Page Six understands that there are people that are royals people. I am not. I don't really care. It would have to get to, it has to get to this. The Meghan Markle thing, to me is interesting because this person is divisive. This person entered into. And it's, it's, it's uncomfortable because she's biracial. Entering into the royal, you know, you know, and so if someone is a big royals person, they get accused and they have an issue with Meghan Markle, they get kind of a, they can, they're putting themselves out there to be accused of being, you know, racist and being, you know, the, oh, you don't like change. And, and Meghan Markle has entered into this family in, in a way and then marries Prince Harry. They, like, meet on Instagram, I think. I listen if someone's a big royals person or loves. And again, some people love Meghan Markle because again, she is the American entering into the royal world. She is, her story is a movie. Absolutely. Actress who was like, you know, she was on Suits, which is now a popular show, but, like, you know, the character arc she had on Suits, you could go look up someone with a similar character arc, and they are Housewife in San Diego right now. You know her. Just because you were on Suits doesn't mean you are this big celebrity like you. I do this all the time. It's. It drives me crazy. I'll. There are pictures of people at the comedy Sarah, and I'll look up the person to see, you know, if I don't recognize the name, I look them up to see where they are. Do that. You want to make yourself, like, have them. I mean, if you're an actor, if you're in the arts and you're doing okay and you're having a minute, go Google the person who's like the third character on the sitcom Becker. Like, I. I watched Becker the other night. This is what you do when you go abroad. Because I'll turn on the TV and they have these old sitcoms on and I'm watching Becker, which would never get made today. Becker was basically, curb your enthusiasm for network tv. It was Ted Danson playing an annoyed doctor who was annoyed at everything. That was the whole premise. And he had this, like, group of multicultural friends that was basically like, what. What that show was. And so, I mean, I'm off track. I'm just saying Megan Markle, if you're a huge Royals fan, I can understand why she would piss you off. I do understand why someone would love Meghan Markle. To me, she is fascinating. Okay. And then I would also understand why someone wouldn't, you know, wouldn't like Meghan Markle. She. If you. If you love the Royals, if you're like, okay, this is what I'm into. Her and Harry enter, get married, and then they basically say, we don't want to be a part of the whole thing anymore. They basically leave the. And if you're a big roles person, you're going. You might be like, Jared, you're telling the story way off. That's the story as I know it. So that now she has this show where she seemingly wants to be Martha Stewart. She wants to show you how to do up your home, which to me is like. I mean, like, someone sent me a video of someone angry at Meghan Markle's show because they're like, she doesn't deserve this. Like, I mean, who deserves anything at this point? Like, they were saying there were, like, all these TikTok creators that were deserving. Because again, if you go on TikTok, you see these people in their homes putting together, like, home Things like the fruit plate and the. And the fridge, the organizers. And you'd go, where does Megan Marco go into this? Well, you know how she gets into this? She marries the prince, and then they say, we don't want to be a part of your family. We want to start a production company because we. We got. We have the name. I. We. We went over this. So it is. So now she has a show that just everyone's watching because they're fascinated at the royal life. The. The. The. The regular person who enters into the royal, royal, you know, family. And then she has this. Claims to have this talent for showing, for being a home, for. For showing, like, for having parties and stuff. And it's like anyone can claim to have that talent. It's like calling yourself a life coach. Well, I have a certificate. I went to the class. Who gave the class? No one asked. No one cares. Meghan Markle. Correct. And so this clip got sent to me. I'm. I'm way off. I mean, this is a lot of rambling. I'm hoping you're sticking with it. If you can stick with this, please let me know. Megan Marco corrects Mindy Kaling so, because Megan probably wasn't a big enough personality to, like, keep this show going, they have these quote unquote friends that show up. Megan Markle corrects Mindy Kaling over last name on Netflix show I'm Sussex now. Meghan Markle set the record straight with Mindy Kaling on her new Netflix show, the Office. Alum referred to the Suits alum. I mean, the Suits alumnus, crazy, as Meghan Markle multiple times during her appearance on the second episode of With Love Megan, which premiered Tuesday. When the actress 45 said people wouldn't believe that Meghan Markle ate a jack in the box. Well, I would believe that she was an actress in la. Okay? She was going to auditions. The idea that Megan, Meghan Markle wasn't born, you know, a princess. So even Mindy, you're like, do you guys even know each other? Mindy, do you know her story? Like, oh, I had a jack in the box. Oh, was that before or after you got the DM from the Prince of Wales, you know, whatever he is? When the actress 45 said people wouldn't believe that Meghan Markle ate the jack in the box, Markle, 43, corrected her. The video is great. It's so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know, I'm Sussex now. The Suits alum clarified. She explained how meaningful the moniker Is you have kids and you go, no, I share my name with my children. Markle noted. It just means so much to go. This is our family. Not name our little family name. Let me just say that's a douchey thing to do to someone on tv. And I don't believe this conversation happened by accident. Everyone calls her Meghan Markle. That is literally her name. Her name is Meghan Markle to me, like, if someone said Meghan, you'd go from high school Meghan. Who are you talking about? People call her Meghan Markle. I mean, this whole article, the title of the article, Meghan Markle. Correct. It's not Meghan Sussex. Now I know when I think of royals again. This podcast isn't someone who's read up. I am not claiming to know anything. What I'm claiming to know is what I know. And I think I am 10% away from the average everyday person who just has the news floating in front of their face. Meghan Markle. I. And with the royals, I would say the Duchess of Sussex. You know, Sussex to me is a place that they are the. The. The. The. The. The royal of now. You might be a royal head. You might be someone who knows all the stuff. Again, I just never knew it as, like, Meghan Sussex. I don't know Harry as Harry Sussex. He's just Prince Harry. So the idea that she corrects her on this show is wild. Without saying, she goes, it's funny that you keep. You keep saying, you have to watch the clip. Mindy Kaling's eyes, literally, when she's saying this to her, it's like, oh, my God, I fucked up. Because. And Megan is giving her no room to breathe for. There's no empathy shown Megan to me in this clip. It to me, it tells me everything. If you're like, are you team Megan? Are you not team Megan? I am team. I'm going to watch this monster be a monster. Because for. If, if, if I was at a party, a friend, I'll give the. I talk about this with my friend Michelle Wolf. Michelle Wolf loves, you know, sending me Meghan Markle stuff. I'm sure. I hope she's okay with that. I'm just saying, I. Michelle and I are talking about this and she made a great point. She goes, this is like someone literally saying to you, I. You know, it's Dr. Reynolds. Like, if you said, oh, Mr. Reynolds, Dr. Reynolds, that's a douchebag doctor. Like, I go by. I took a lot of time to get that doctor doctorate. So why don't you go but to me. And then I said to. To. I added on to that Michelle, which is hilarious for her to say. It is more like someone who got a honorary doctorate from Harvard. So they gave Megan a doctorate and then refused it and then told you that they were Dr. Markle. Like, that is the equivalent because they literally left the Royal Family. They said, we don't want this. And then they used the name to make their money. So again, you have to have a high level of either unawareness or not give a shit to say, hey, Royal Family, we don't want this. Take your money. We're gonna make more on our own, but we're still gonna use your name to make that money, because that's what they did. I've talked about this to no ends. Them leaving the Royal Family can only happen in the social media age where they can have their own following their own Instagram. They can make a. Make a mint. So, I mean, you got to watch this clip. It is unbelievable. Kaling replied, now I know and I love it. I love that you corrected me on a TV show where it made me look like a piece of shit that didn't know your last name. I love it. You have kids. And then Marco, who's a professional at this, obviously she's a professional. Again, she is a professional. You have kids and you go, no, I share my name with my children. That's what she said. You know, they professional. You know, this is a professional woman doing the. I'm gonna like, bowl you over. I'm gonna bulldoze you when you bring up the kid. I share my name with my kids. No one can bullshit the kids argument. She's a pro. I respect it. The Duchess of Sussex told People the same sentiment in an interview published Monday. I love that that is something that Archie, Lily H and I all have together. She said if son, 3 year old daughter and husband Prince Harry. It means a lot to me. I think as the kids get older, they're so excited about, oh, my gosh, Mama and Papa, how did you meet? Marco continued, I think that will come with time as they get older. But for right now, a huge part of our love story is that we share the name Sussex. She has never said this. Obviously it had annoyed her. I here's how I think this all played out. Megan Markle's like, I'm annoyed that everyone calls me Megan Markle. And I'm losing. Because we left the Royal Family, I'm kind of losing the Sussex thing. And she doesn't like that this is a, this is my opinion that a byproduct of them leaving the royals is that she's now just Meghan Markle. She wants to make sure people know she's a fucking princess. So she's like, on the show, I'm gonna correct someone. I'm gonna. And to me, Mindy Kaling, sacrificial lamb. That's what happened. She, she cut the throat of Mindy to make her point. That is my belief. I. And, and I believe that because I do think, and I know this sounds bad, but like, you gotta be a professional to go and marry the prince of a country like you have, or the prince or princess. Like, I think if you come from the outside world and infiltrate a royal family, male, female, I think there is a certain type, and I think we all know that type. The one that was like getting married and getting to that home life and that suburb life and getting to that next step for them. That was the goal. That was the business plan. That was it. And you see it. Male, female. I see it. There are people. And listen, you marry for money, you're going to pay every day of the rest of your life. So to me, some people like making that payment. I think Megan likes this game. I think she does. I mean like that whole scene, you got to watch it. I mean, I'm telling you to, I'm on a podcast telling you to watch everything else. Markle and Harry got the respective titles Duchess and Duke of Sussex when they tied the Knot in May 2018. Their kids were initially called Master Archie Montbatten Windsor and Ms. Lilibet Montaben Windsor. The siblings titles were updated to Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex following Queen Elizabeth's 2022 death. Okay, so I'm not totally off King Charles III's ascension to the throne. Page Six confirmed in February that Sussex was their last name. I mean, I, I feel for Mindy because it's an awkward moment that she. It could have been anybody. Honestly, that could have been literally anybody. Let's go to other. Drew Barrymore's relentlessly clingy behavior made Megan Markle uncomfortable on talk show body language experts claim. I love when they bring in a body expert. Body language expert. This is. And listen, Drew Barrymore now has this, like, reputation. If, if I'm to think Meghan Markle is, as I said, kind of like a professional, like, famous person. If she was like, I'm off of suits. I got to win. Okay, DM from Prince of. You know, the Prince of Sussex will get married now. I want to. I want to run the world. I want to be. I want to be. If I'm to believe if I was to get inside the brain of. I want to be Martha Stewart, Meghan Markle or Meghan Sussex, as she wants to be called to me, this is a creation of her PR department. I think she went on Drew Barrymore and the Drew Barrymore Show. She is known to get touchy feely. She did it with Michelle Obama. People got. People didn't like it. She did it. She's done it many, many times. And I would agree if you've ever seen clips from the show, it's an uncomfortable show. And it's like, you do want to go, drew, chill. I mean, we're gonna be cool. It just seems like Drew has never really been in touch with reality before. And. And again, why should she? She's been famous since she's, like, been born. I mean, she was like a. She's not just a child, sir. I think she was like a baby child star. Megan Markle was not a fan of Drew Barrymore's over. So if I was Meghan Markle and someone was like, we don't like the look. Okay, hire a body language expert. Have them say it looked like it was Drew's fault, and then we'll feed it to Page Six, and there we go. Done. Not I didn't do badly. Drew made me uncomfortable via body language expert. And we don't even. No one's checking credentials. I'm not. I'm not going to go beyond. I'm going to go from, you know, idiot. Jared is going to go, oh, I guess it was uncomfortable. Guess Drew did it again. It's not going to be. Megan wasn't good on there. Because the article could be different if I. If you know Drew Barrymore, who probably she's been famous since birth, I'm gonna say she probably doesn't even care what. What comes out of this interview. Even, you know, that I'm giving Drew Barrymore credibility that I'm not giving Meghan Markle. But I would say Drew Barrymore never really corrected someone on her own show to, like, make sure people knew what her last name was like. I think there's a difference. It's like, you know, Drew is crazy in a different way. Not to say she's not crazy. Meghan Markle was not a fan of Drew Barrymore's overly touchy behavior on the Drew Barrymore show, according to body language expert Judy James. I mean, Judy James is. Sounds like a stage name. James claimed to the Daily Mail that the Duchess of Sussex was uncomfortable with the TV host's relentlessly clingy nature as she zeroed in on several moments from the interview, which airs Thursday. So this isn't even out yet. It's coming out. So they're ahead of this. So someone's PR people put this out first. She analyzed a photo of Barrymore and Marco standing and posing together in front of the show's white couch. This is a rare pose from Megan, who was. And that's the thing. These royals are watched like they, again, like the royals are watched with a microscope. So, so I, I get, I don't, I don't, I don't think like it's again, marry for money, pay every day the rest of your life. Megan, you signed up for this. Maybe. I think you have to have known though that you're going to be looked at by like Judy James. And to say like her elbow is normally this way in pictures. This is a rat. Like I can read it like I'm Judy James. This is a RA from Megan, who's normally the first one to move in with the hugs to register the warm spontaneously tactile side that was apparently met with a tsunami of ice water from the Royal Firm back in the U.K. james said, I mean, does that not sound like British body language expert? Those words. That sentence is crazy. This is a rare pose from Megan, who is normally the first one to move in with hugs to register the warm spontaneously tactile side that was apparently met with the tsunami of ice water from the Royal Firm back in the uk. Judy James is a pro. Judy James, the body language expert speaks like that. She's literally, she's writing sonnets. The tactile side that was apparently met with a tsunami of ice water from the Royal Firm back in the uk. Does she write for the Daily Mail? She has clearly met her match in Drew, whose tactile behaviors on her chat show are a signature part of the brand. The expert continued, Again, everyone knows Drew Barrymore. Little touchy feely on her show, but it's, but it seems from this pose that what you get when you put two famously hugging women together is that one will bow out, namely Meghan in this case. So again, to me, this is Meghan's team being like, we didn't like how you looked on the interview. Let's put it on. Drew being too much. James described Markle stance in the photo as straight, polite, more regal looking pose while Barrymore wrapped her arms around the suits alum. I mean then they show a bunch of pictures but none of them look uncomfortable. Like I I to me, I mean it's a very long article about body language where none of them are interviewed. So I'm FA again, I, as I said in the beginning, I'm fascinated by Megan Marle. I'm not, like, I don't not like her, but I'm fascinated by why people don't like her. I'm fascinated by why people love her. We're 25 minutes into this show. We've done all Meghan Markle. Okay, let's move on. Pete Davidson offers Colin jost a $20,000 olive branch following feud that made the comedian stop speaking. So to personalize, I. I know both of these people. Not. I wouldn't consider them friends. I would say hi to them if we ran into each other. Both Pete and Colin have been, I would say, overly nice to me. Like, in a way that I go, oh, that's cool that they're cool to me. Like, I, I would say that, like, Pete, I knew from, like, open mics, Colin was. Had already been around when I started, but was always, like, the one thing I'll say about, well, Pete's always been nice and cool and even, like, you know, congratulating me on the special, like, it was. Have been nicer. Colin, I'm always. I always make it for a guy that, like, I, I can't believe he knows he. Anytime from the minute I met him, he's Al. He's always remembered me or, or, or made me believe he remembered me. And I would say that's a talent to me, like, to remember people's names and faces. Like, I'm not as good. And so I didn't know that they were feuding, but I know that, like, listen, here's the. The reality is Colin was like, the head writer, one of the producers, and Pete was a person on the show who was widely popular and had, you know, would show up and not show up sometimes. So to me, this is a management worker rivalry. This is like the star on the team who pissed off the coach a few times because the coach's life is made harder if the star doesn't, you know, show up to practice. So do they have a feud? It wouldn't. It wouldn't surprise me is what I'm saying. Pete Davidson is on the road to making amends with former Saturday Night Live co star Colin Joe. So, and I guess if you didn't know the inner workings, if you didn't know Colin was the head writer and a producer. And Pete, you know, if you didn't know that Pete sometimes, you know, it was known to, like, not show and, and, and had kind of a special treatment at snl, then you might be like, oh, what are they mad at each other about? The bupkiss Star gifted the Weekend Update co host a $20,000 Cartier watch following the pairs alleged fallout. I mean I, that's hard for me to believe. I've never heard of such a thing. Hey, I know we're in a fight. Here's a twenty thousand dollar watch like I, I I to me, if it costs $20,000 to become friends with someone again, I'm out. The luxury timepiece was an olive branch from Davidson to Jost after their rumored rift behind the scenes of snl. The sun was first to report the news that Davidson gifted Joe's the pricey watch shortly after the king of Staten island star left. Oh, they're and they're also both from Staten island. So that could also. That also plays into this left rehab last summer. It's unclear what exactly led to the comedians feud. However, it ultimately affected their joint purchase of a decommissioned Staten island ferry, which they had plans to turn into a live entertainment space. Oh, so they went into business together. Yeah, you know, they probably. Here's what I would say. You know, Pete has said, you know, talked about going to rehab. He's in and out of rehab. He's got issues. He's got his own issues. So you have clean cut Colin and in and out of rehab Pete. You're both from Staten Island. You both got money. Hey, can you do this new Staten island work thing and then you know, business things happen and there's a fight. But I don't understand getting someone to Watch reps for Davidson 31 and Joe's 42 did not immediately respond to Page Six requests for comments. Joe's previously denied Pete Davidson claim that he was very stoned when they decided to make the nautical purchase in January 2022. Is it worse that I was actually stone cold sober when he we bought the ferry? Joe's wrote on Instagram in June 2023 alongside a screenshot of Page Six's coverage. Yeah, I just. Joe's continues. We're excited to prove the non believers wrong. You're going to be begging to get on this ferry in two years. Mark my words. He also used the opportunity to promote his Fairy Money tour which poked fun at the headlines. Come on by here. Just followers at the time, so I don't. I bristle at the believability of this story because I think that it is just a great headline. Bad story because they have nothing. Peter Davidson offers Colin Joe's $20,000 off branch following feud is like great headline but I don't think they had much. Here's another headline that like I've been seeing around Jennifer Gardner not interested in rekindling Ben Affleck romance Despite actors wishes, the feeling is not mutual. I gotta say, Ben Affleck must be wild to date. Jennifer Gardner is not interested in rekindling her relationship with ex husband Ben Affleck despite Affleck being open to the idea. A source exclusively tells Page Six that the feeling is not mutual. Here's what I don't understand. If you're Ben Affleck, why would you float the idea of getting back with your ex? Is it like, are you trying to gain like ability points? Is this a Q rating thing? The insider further tells us that the 13 Going On 30 actress who has been dating John Miller since 2018, she has a boyfriend for literally over 2018. It's 2025, so she has a boyfriend of eight years and Ben Affleck is like, yeah, I'd get back together if things were. It's like cuz they have kids together. But like, dude, Jen has a great co parenting relationship with Ben and that's where things stand on her end. I don't know, something doesn't make sense. Meanwhile, a second source told us that Affleck would love another chance with the mother of his children. See, I don't know Ben Affleck. I've heard him in interviews and you're like, this guy sounds like he is fun down to earth gets it. And then you see his like back tattoo and you hear quotes like this and you're like, oh, this guy must be all over the board because he must be able to put it together for an interview. And then like he might just get sad and lonely and say things and then call a PR agent and be like, yeah, tell him I want to get back with Jen. Just make it happen the same time. So meanwhile, a second source told the told us that Affleck would love another chance with the mother of his children and would be open to giving things another shot. Again, mother of his children. This is a kid blockade. This is the same. This is the Meghan Markle move. At the same time, Ben knows it's just not realistic at this time in their lives. So to me, this is a PR agent, like using Jennifer Gardner to make Ben look more human. He must have a movie where he's playing a dad coming out. He must have a movie. Oh, I saw. He has the. It actually looked great. The accountant too. I saw the preview for it when I went and saw Captain America, which wasn't horrible. I liked Captain America. It was all over the place I'm. To me, Captain America might be seen if they can. I'm such a Marvel fan. I love what they did with the first Infinity saga, like, with, you know, if you know me at all, you know, I'm a Marvel guy. And I really just love that they accomplished the feat of connecting all the movies. And now in this new era of Marvel, I'm still. I'm probably last on the boat, just hoping they can put this all together. And I kind of watch Captain America with the lens of like, oh, maybe this, like, resets everything and gets us, you know, I'll look back on this movie and it will be good when I look back on it. That was kind of my thought. That was my hope again. Maybe I'm too hopeful. Plus, Ben respects Jen's relate. Oh, so the preview for the Accountant to look pretty awesome. I didn't even know it was the Accountant too. You know, you're watching this whole thing. I was like, I thought he was autistic. And the Accountant one and now this one, he's a little bit more friendly and an easygoing. So I don't know. It didn't. It didn't seem to match the energy of the Accountant one. But I think you had to know a lot about the Accountant one to watch Accountant two. I don't know. The preview is pretty good, but to me, this is a PR agent being like, hey, people think you're kind of gross. Let's make you. Let's make you pine for the mother of your children. That would be my thought. Okay, let's do this story. Okay. I wanted to do this story. Ken Burns, who I only know is like America's historian. Is that what he is now? Every time I see Ken Burns, I go, that's what he looks like. It looks like he. It looks like he went through, like, his dirty laundry and put a thing together 10 minutes before every interview he does. Ken Birds pleads with Prada to not rip the soul out of soho by taking over Lure Fish Bar. Lure Fish Bar is great. Ken Burns is a famous for documenting battles. Now he's joined one. Lure Fish Bar has been a staple of New York's SoHo neighborhood for 20 years. Again, like, has that restaurant only been there 20 years at that point? It's not really. It's not like it's, you know, the Brooklyn Bridge and local. Burns is campaigned to save it from being turned into a Prada eatery. Prada eatery. The legendary. Okay, listen, I know Lure Fishbahr. It's a beautiful Place, it doesn't look like it's the heart of soho. The legendary filmmakers TV producer daughter Lily introduced him to the restaurant. It became mine and it became mine. He recently told Tim Chisano on his Long Winded by nature podcast. Burns is among a list of famous names including Cindy Crawford, Chris Rock and Justin Thoreau, rallying to prevent the fashion house which already inhabits the upstairs space from taking over the subterranean seafood. And I've eaten there. It's pretty good on the, it's overpriced when it's lease, when its lease runs out in 2026. So what are they gonna do? Put together a GoFundMe for, for a high priced fish restaurant? Fuck off. I, I'm on Prada's side. Their lease is gonna run out. They're in a basement, which makes it cheaper. Burns said the idea that Lure would be forced out to make way for Prada Cafe has been anxiety and produce. So anxiety producing. That is a quote. I don't think you can be the historian of America, Ken Burns. I sound angrier than I am. But we are in such politicized times where Ken Burns, who we have saddled with the responsibility or he has saddled around himself of telling the history of this country and we have to buy it from him. Okay. And then the same person who says the product Cafe taking over Lure Fish bar is so anxiety producing. Like in what world can we believe his angle on things? This place is so sweet. Generous. Sweet, generous. What is the further explaining that the Latin phrase means of its own kind? Is Ken Burns a douche? I thought this guy was like, I thought this guy was like the down to earth, let me explain history so you dummies can get it guy. I've never watched a Ken Burns documentary. I, I'm saying this again. I, when I say I'm not like you. I am, I'm a headline reader. I'm. But like, I don't know. All I know is Ken Burns makes these documentaries where like, oh, you're turning books into movies and they're 20 parts and you just gotta go, okay, Ken Burns said it, it's okay. But to hear that he goes, this place, this place is so sweet, generous. He said. Further explaining the Latin phrase meaning of its own kind. How about you just say it's of its own kind. There is no other thing. You can replace it. It's not duplic, dup, Duplicatable. It's not movable. It's not transferable. I think it is. I've been To a lure fish bar in many other towns. I mean the reason it's kind of cool is it's in a basement, it's underground. They had a kind of a cool outdoor seating. There's a cool bar area. But the idea that I've never seen such a thing in any other place. And then they show a picture of Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle hanging outside and it's like, I don't know, I. Yeah, it's cool. It's a beautiful bar. They show a picture if you go to the Civil War. Filmmaker, 71 and his youngest daughter Willa, 14. He's got a 14 Ken Burns. I thought this guy was like the America's dad telling us a story. This guy's out fucking when he's in his 50s. He has a 14 year old daughter at 70. I mean that could be me I guess, you know, 14 year old when I'm 71, dying there at least once a week whenever they're in town. Watching her seafood palate evolve since she was 4 has been one of his fondest memories. This is the most unrelatable article I have ever. Watching my daughter learn to love caviar over all these years is so is one of our greatest men memories. Please give money to lure fish bars so it doesn't get taken over by a Prada. If someone doesn't like Ken Burns and wants like put him on blast, this is the article to use. I see so many tiktoks of people like hey, you know the person who's in sweats who looks like they haven't showered in six weeks telling you why you should hate someone in front of an article that's been written about them. This is one of those articles. Owner John McDonald told Page Six he is optimistic about working out a deal with Prada and is grateful for all the support the restaurant has been getting hearing. How can be Ken B. Put the drama into perspective was quite surreal. From a legendary story, from such a legendary storyteller to weigh in. I'm thankful to say the least. Yeah. If anyone can put words, it's Ken Burns. I've watched my daughter sit at lure fish bar and at first she was like, no, I don't like a shrimp cocktail. And finally I got her to try a shrimp cocktail. And then our next move was to get her to try the mignonette sauce to go on the oysters. And then I said, no, no, no, we'll have a poivre. Poivre steak, a poivre. You know, I don't know, this is the douchiest article I've ever seen. Ah, okay, so we had a couple more Megan Marle. Let me read one more. I'm having fun. I'm here in Adelaide. I gotta go, I gotta go, I gotta go. Hold a koala. Jane. Okay, this just, just because of the headline I'm reading this. It is a crazy headline. Jane Fonda once rescued her grandson from wild bear who broke into their house in the middle of the night. Can you imagine Jane Fonda going at it with a Never underestimate a grandma's love. Jane Fonda who they show her and she is like the most unbelievable looking woman you've ever like at this age. You can tell she's, you know, she's definitely had work done, but the work she is to me, the work she had done is what women of her age are trying to get to. To me, when they say I want, I'm gonna get something done, they go, here's a picture of Jane. Never underestimate a grandma's love. Jane Fonda revealed she once saved her then infant grandson Malcolm from a wild bear who broke into her New Mexico home in the middle of the night in a February 28 appearance on Netflix's Skip Intro podcast. Who's ghosting this podcast? Her. Her son, actor Troy O'Donovan Garrity was asked to share something fans of his mother. Wait, her son's like a famous actor? Was asked to share something fans of his mother might not know of the actress. In response, Garrity, 57, told the host Krista Smith that she once pushed a bear out of her bedroom. Get out. Come on. Get outta here, Grizzly. Like I'm just imagining my grandma pushing a bear out. Yeah, the. The son I think I've seen in things. She heard something so she left her bedroom in the middle of the night to go see what the sound was, Troy said, noting that the Grace and Frankie Star, 87, was looking after her grandson, now 25 years old at the time. When she came back in, the screen door was dismantled and there was a bear in the bedroom sniffing over the crib. What do you do? That's crazy. Smith then asked Fonda how she responded to the wild animal in her home, which prompted Fonda to give a loud roar into the microphone and throw her hands in the air in an effort to appear larger. I think that's what you're supposed to do. The actress shared her quick witted response to the bear was thanks to her recent training as she had just learned what to do if you're close to a bear. You know, the nice thing about these stories is that, like, none of you listening, me included, are putting ourselves in bear territories. Like, I'm sure we are all like, that's crazy. But, like, you'll never forget this story. She growled and made herself big and. And that was it. She know her recent training has had just learned what to do if you're close to a bear. And that was it. I mean, if you live in a town where a bear could, like, come in, like, he's, you know, Winnie the Pooh, like, you know, to come in, like, there's a picnic basket for, like, it's Yogi Bear. She noted it and that was it. And get very big. I opened my bathrobe. She flashed them. Fonda's move worked, pushing the bears like, oh, I'm not into old women. That's mean. I'm just Grandma titties. Fonda's move worked, pushing the bear from the room. But he didn't leave without giving the Oscar winner with a parting gift. He went down on her. No, I'm kidding. As he urinated on the rug. Oh, that wasn't urine. He was turned on. And then it walked back to the door and sat down. And I did. I pushed it out. Yeah. Fonda has three children. Troy, Vanessa, whom she shares with late husband Roger Vadim, and daughter Mary Luana Williams. She welcomed her son with late ex husband Tom Hayden. Two grandchildren, Malcolm and Viva Vadim, 21, who are the son and daughter of Vanessa. I mean, what a fantastic story. That's like the perfect podcast story. I chased a bear out of our home. All right, we end on that back next week. Boom.
