Chit chat Wednesday for you to listen to. I have a guess who will be your new boo. You're gonna love them, too. Chit chat Wednesday. I hope you're having a good day today. I hope it's gonna be a perfect week, too. I hope you have a nice poo. It's a chat Wednesday, too. Hello and welcome to the J Train Podcast. This is J Train Jared Freed coming live from Beverly Hills, California. That's right, it's a chit chat Wednesday. Every Wednesday, I have on a guest who's either a friend or an expert or a comedian. And today we have two of the three. My good friend, an expert gambler, Ramblin Gamblin. Thunder Dan, thank you for coming back on the show.
B
Thunder Dan, J Train, Great to be back, man. You're fancy there in Beverly Hills.
A
I'm very fancy. I'm very, you know, I'm a Hollywood, you know, celeb in the middle of celeb land. I am. We had such great feedback from your first time on the show. You came on before the NFL season to talk gambling with us. How was your. How was your NFL season? Let's get. Let's just overview, top line. How did it go?
B
I thought it was a great season. Yeah, you did. It was fun. It was fun. We, I mean, we're going to go through some of what we, what we said before in case people forgot.
A
Right. We're going to go through our original bets and see how we did. And then we're going to get to some of Dan's hot picks for this week's. This is the thing.
B
The.
A
The super bowl is this week. We want to go through our picks from the season kind of rehash, and then we want to get into our picks for the game. Okay. So what? It's been a good season.
B
It was fun, I thought. Yeah, I thought kind of played out. You know, every NFL season, it's easy to think. Think now.
A
Right.
B
But.
A
Right.
B
But when we rewind, if you went back and listened to the last episode or the last time we were on, you know, there's a lot of new teams that come into. Into the fray, but I kind of feel like we're in that same stage that we were in with Manning and Brady and, you know, where it's kind of the same two guys in the AFC championship. Right. It feels like.
A
I agree. I think it's weird.
B
Ben Roethlisberger in that.
A
Right.
B
Equation.
A
Right. It's weird that this season kind of played out how if you really went chalk, you Would have done well the whole season. That was kind of the theme. If you picked favorites the whole season, you would have done well with betting and with who's in the Super Bowl. We have the Eagles and the Chiefs. These are two teams we knew were good before the season.
B
Yeah. Yeah, I think that's fair. I. You know, the Eagles ended their season so poorly last year that I think some people didn't know what was going on. And then the way that they started off with the coach and, you know, the coach hating the city, I mean, for you, we were kind of loving that, right?
A
I was very happy to see Philadelphia. People have to squirm a little bit. Not really like their coach, but also, like. It is funny, you know, when you deal with Philly people as you and I have, we're both Penn State grads, so we are holding hands with Philly faithful in our everyday lives. It is the worst fan base to have the two weeks leading into the Super Bowl. Be happy, don't you think? Of all the fan bases.
B
It is. I think. I think it's nice for me to watch you with this, because I've already dealt with this. When the Eagles played the Patriots, that was the hell scenario, right?
A
That was two fan bases that you really didn't want to have to listen.
B
It was the same situation. It was everyone sick of the Patriots winning, and we can't root for Philadelphia because, right, they're the worst.
A
But why do you think they're the worst if we. Because someone in Philadelphia is probably like, what the fuck? You're coming at me? And it's like, well, that reaction is why we don't like you. You're not that fun. They're all I was thinking about. Like, I was like, why do they rub me wrong? Why do they rub you wrong?
B
Well, I didn't care about Philadelphia. You know, I'm from the Pittsburgh area, and I didn't care when we went to Penn State weren't, you know, in the same conference as the Steelers didn't. But then 1am Happened at Penn State, right? And three, three, four nights a week, there'd be Eagles fans just raising hell, you know, in the middle of campus. And I'd see fist fights between Eagles fans and anyone else. And, you know, there's a. Someone asked me this the other day, actually, it's funny. Someone said, why do you. Why do you hate on the Eagles so much? And I said, when I was young, my dad taught me to confront bully bullies. So Philadelphia takes pride in being a bully. So.
A
Well, that is the thing. They are bullies, because here's what they do. They will scream at you about how much of a fan they are and do the cheer and the chant, and they'll be pro Eagles. And then the game starts, and if anything goes wrong, they hate their team. Right away, they bail. So they're always right. They are. They're never wrong. They're either, go yourself, I'm an Eagles fan, you're a loser, or it's, go fuck yourself, Eagles. I hate you now. So they. It's really like. It is like an exhaust.
B
Maybe they're geniuses and we don't know it.
A
They are geniuses for feeling confident about themselves, but it is exhausting as a bystander, because you're like, if your friends are Eagles fans, you're like, oh, man, tough game. They're like, I know. I hate this team. And you're like, no, no, that's your team.
B
Right? That. See, that's why what I root for, for Philadelphia sports in general is a very risky proposition. But it's basically for them to get to the championship in every sport and lose, Right?
A
That is the best case scenario.
B
But it's risky, right? Because then, you know, it's possible they could win so.
A
Well, it is, because they get so amped up, so cocky.
B
Yeah.
A
And the higher they get, the further they fall. And that's the fun of being.
B
And I know we're watching on them, but I will say Philadelphia, the passion is there, right? They're. They're.
A
This is sports fans, right.
B
They just don't know how to. To turn off class last little bit.
A
Well, it's called class. It's called, you know, being polite. It's called being a human living in society. Yeah, they. They're not good at that. It's.
B
We have.
A
It's foul play. It's dirty play. It's. It's dirty fandom.
B
We have a common friend who went to a Penguins Flyers game. He watched a guy, you know, at the urinal, Flyers plans, flick the hat right off of his head and hold the guy down as they stand around and urinate on the hat.
A
Come on.
B
That's. That's the behavior you get.
A
And then they don't even like, like their team if they're, like, not playing at, like, an a. Like, you did all to, like, for a team that you hate as well. Like, I. That's what's so annoying.
B
I'd be totally fine with. With the fan base and the teams if the whole. What. What's going on in the stadium to away fans. And I'll admit I've changed over the years. When I was in, when we were in college and you came to Hines.
A
Field, you're reformed, you've gotten better.
B
How about that? But you wanted them to have a miserable experience. Now you kind of want the fans to have like a good experience in your stadium, you know.
A
Well, there's a thin line. There's a thin line.
B
There's 60 year old guys in Philly who, right, are still doing. We could talk about. I told you the time I went to Philly, right. For a game, go in, had two tickets, didn't really know. I think they said 300 level. I thought they were somewhere in the middle. Well, that meant upper deck, right.
A
Way up those bleeds.
B
So I get up and you know, this is when I had my normal outfit on at the games, you know.
A
Now please explain your normal outfit at the games.
B
Well, it's not anymore, but I, I, for a long time.
A
Yeah.
B
Steeler hard hat, you know, jersey, like.
A
The whole, the camo Steelers pants, yellow and black camo pants, a Steelers jersey, a hard hat. You basically looked like the mascot for the team walking into the away. Yeah, you were steely McBean walking into the 300 section of the Eagles stadium.
B
But, but if you've been to any upper deck in a stadium, you know that when you get in you got to like decide which side you enter on. Right. Because you're either like seat one or you're seat 25.
A
Sure.
B
I didn't look. So I got two beers in my hand. I'm walking up. They immediately see me about three sections of Eagles. Fans start chanting asshole. Asshole. Right. So they're, they're going crazy on me.
A
Yeah.
B
And I get to my row and realize I'm in seat one and I need to be seat 23.
A
So you have to take the longest journey possible with your two beers back.
B
Down, over, back up.
A
Oh, so you, you said, I'm not gonna go through it, I'm gonna go around.
B
Couldn't do it. Couldn't do it. So you went around. So as I come back up the other side, you know, they hadn't stopped chanting. So this goes on for, I don't know, five, seven, ten minutes.
A
It's a lot.
B
A lot.
A
That's a long chat.
B
They never stop. And then I get up to my seat and you know the demographic in the 500 level in Philly is 25 to 40 year old construction workers.
A
Yes. Who? It's the people with the least amount to lose.
B
They want to kill you.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, this wasn't fun to them. This was, like, serious. Like, they wanted me to be injured.
A
Right. And that's just like. That's the. You know, the fun of, like, an away fan being in the stadium is to give them but also, like, smile and laugh and know that, like, yeah, we know this is all stupid. It seems that they don't have that twinkle in their eye in Philly, not.
B
In that 500 level. But. And it's not just Philly because I was sat in the dog pounding Cleveland, and it was. It was pretty close to similar. But. But. But the. The funny part in Philly, I'll just finish, is there was a guy sitting about three rows in front of me, and he thought this was all so fun. And he was a Steeler fan. I will say, when the Steelers went there, they were 20,000 Steeler fans. And it took away from the bullying. See, they're used to having, like, one or two fans in the 500 level, and then they can really bully those people. In this game, there were so many that they kind of didn't know where to, like, do the thing. So this guy in front of me, he thought this was so fun. And he's turning around, trying to high, and he's trying to, like, you know, like, laugh. And I was like, dude, we are not together right now.
A
Right? We got to calm down right now. Right?
B
Like, I'm out with you. This is survival of the fittest here. I'm on my own, you know?
A
Well, listen, now, what are you going to do for the Super Bowl? What are your plans?
B
Well, this is a unique year, but.
A
Oh, really?
B
Yeah, it is. I'm going to be in Disney World for the Super Bowl.
A
What?
B
Oh, yeah.
A
So you're taking what, a family vacation? You're taking the kids?
B
Yeah, it's the day I get there. And if there was ever going to be a year, this is the year. I'm not that mad because, like I said, I'm just not that. I'm not that into this game. But.
A
But still, I mean, I'm going to.
B
I had. I made you gonna be on the.
A
Teacups on your phone watching while the teacups are turning.
B
Is.
A
That's gonna. You're gonna be that dad?
B
This is a day. We're not doing anything like that. We had dinner, and I changed that. So we're gonna. You know, we're going to figure it out either at a bar or at.
A
You know, how are you going to do. So do the kids know they're going to Disney World or is this a surprise?
B
Oh, yeah, we just told them. Yeah.
A
So they, they're pumped. They're like, get me to Mickey and Minnie.
B
Now I'm pumped too. Yeah, it's going to be awesome. But, but the Super Bowl. See, I have a lot of opinions about how to watch a Super Bowl. Yeah, I don't know if, I don't know if you agree or disagree with.
A
This, but give me. Okay, let's go to Thunder Dan's super bowl watching opinions. I will give you a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Go.
B
So if I'm into the game, the last thing I want is to be at a Super bowl party, right?
A
Agree.
B
I hate that. So you got a bunch of people there who. And who don't really care that much about what's going on. They're talking the whole time. I hear no audio of what's going on.
A
If anything, the, the super bowl party is more zoned in for the commercials than they are the game.
B
It's true. There's actually a Bill Burr thing about that, I think.
A
Oh, is there?
B
Yeah, it's funny. But. But it's true, right? They're more into the commercials. But, you know, and I've done this many times and I, I really was, like, annoyed by it because you and I, we watch the games all year and we're dialed in like we're the end of the movie got the sound on, right? You hear the announcers, you got to hear everything. And now the biggest game, you, you do the opposite of that. I mean, that's crazy to me.
A
So it's a good point.
B
So that's one thing. One time I was in Vegas with the in laws and a bunch of their friends and it was when the Steelers were in the Super Bowl. And this, they're trying to give you shit.
A
You're like, I, that, that, that's the worst. You don't want to be if, if your team's in the super bowl, you don't want to be with someone who really doesn't care at all about either team because they're kind of like giving you. And you're like, I don't believe you have a right to like, give me crap right now. This is an impossible day for me.
B
I had to put a happy face on and do the back and forth, right? You gotta act locked in. Like, I was locked in, right? And I couldn't.
A
So, Dan, how's work? You're like, oh, it's going okay. Excuse me. Move to the left. I can't see the tv. Yeah.
B
I bailed in the middle of the first quarter, and I went in the attached room to the suite that we were watching the game in.
A
Yeah.
B
And I sat in a suite, like in a regular hotel room and watched the game by myself.
A
What's wrong with your husband? Your wife is like, no, he's just really into the game. This is all he has.
B
So. So I think it does matter how your care for the teams and stuff like that. But, yeah, I mean, the best one was when I went, you know, I was able to go to the Super Bowl. That was amazing. I know you've been to one, right?
A
I've been to a few, yeah.
B
I mean, awesome. I also tried to not really drink for the that and that didn't work out either.
A
But I didn't think.
B
No, because, you know, you have to go in like three hours early, then you're there for like eight hours. The game's four hours, four and a half hours long.
A
It's a long day.
B
It's long. You got to get in there. But it was cool. We went to the one.
A
So you're going to be with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy instead of watching the game. But let's get to your best. I'm watching the game before we do. B
So AFC east. You had the Dolphins.
A
So I had the Dolphins, which they ended up in second place, but I. I took a chance there.
B
Second? Yeah, second place by. By default.
A
A lot. I mean, the Bills ended up winning. Who did you have?
B
I. I had the Bills. That was my only good AFC one. So.
A
Okay, AFC west, who did you have and who did I have?
B
I had the Chargers. That was my upset special, which wasn't bad.
A
They were not a bad Choice. They went 11 and 6.
B
Yeah, you had the Chiefs. You went Chalky there.
A
That's a better choice.
B
Okay, so we're tied so far, right?
A
Tied. AFC North. Who did you have? Steel Town.
B
Steelers. Right. Steel Town. You went Ravens. So you. You won that one. I had it most of the season. They blew it. They lost.
A
They blew it at the end. Ravens won the division. AFC South. The winner was the Texans. Who did you have?
B
We both had the Colts.
A
Right. And it ended up being not as bad a bed as it would have as it feels like the Colts came in second. They started really bad, though. Okay, so now let's go to the nfc. So I'm up, right?
B
You're up two. One. But man, was your NFC bad.
A
Brutal.
B
Bad.
A
NFC East. The winner was the Eagles. Who did you have?
B
We both had the Cowboys.
A
We. And boy, did we shit the bed on that one.
B
They were terrible. Terrible.
A
NFC West. The Rams ended up winning it. I had the Seahawks.
B
I think you had the Seahawks and I had the 49ers. Who got to that? The loser of the Super Bowl.
A
Right.
B
Not making the playoffs. That is a crazy.
A
Every season, the loser of the super bowl has a really brutal next season for whatever reason.
B
Like, very weird if I tell you whoever loses this game is not going to make the playoffs. You'd say, no way.
A
You wouldn't believe it. You wouldn't buy it. You wouldn't bet on it. And you should.
B
That's every year.
A
That's every year, Right. NFC north, the Lions ended up winning. Who do we have?
B
I had the Lions to tie it up.
A
Yeah.
B
You had the Harry Special.
A
I went with my heart, my brother and the Bears, and they were in dead last. I had a lot of hope then.
B
Me, too. And then I was rooting for him all year.
A
Man, weren't we all? And then the NFC south, the winner was the Buccaneers.
B
There shouldn't have been a winner.
A
It's a brutal division every year.
B
Yeah, we said that last time. But, yeah, the. You had the Saints, which is dead last. Terrible. And I had the Falcons, who also blew it. Like the Steelers.
A
I mean, the Saints and the Panthers have the same record. You would never feel that way. I don't know if I would even.
B
That's crazy. I didn't know.
A
It's crazy to think, right?
B
Yeah. The thing is, I think you missed. When you missed, you missed big on all those.
A
Right.
B
Which is why not. Hey, if you're not hitting it.
A
That's the thing. Well, I'm looking for value when I make a bet. Like, I want to bet on the Bears, because you can get a lot of money for low expense.
B
And we ended up doing our bet that we talked about. We got eight guys together and we pulled our. We each did one of these picks and we lost them all. But it was fun.
A
Eight guys got. So to let the listeners know, to remind them, we had eight guys do their division picks. So we picked every D division. And then you did a parlay. So you'd say, like, for all you know, how many divisions are there? There's eight divisions. So we picked our eight winners of each of the divisions, and then we bet on it. And for each one of those, it's like, you know, it's huge.
B
Thousands. We had 50 bets. We each did a 50 bet, and I think the highest one was like, half a million. The lowest one was like 175,000 or something.
A
And we said that we would split it eight ways if any of them won and all of us lost.
B
It was fun, though. I'd be down to do that.
A
I'm in again next year for that one. Okay, so who do we have?
B
We had MVPs, and we had the Super Bowl.
A
Who's the.
B
And first coach to be fired?
A
So who's the first coach to be fired that we guessed first coach.
B
I don't know if mine was the first, but if it wasn't first, it was second.
A
Alan Saints. No, I think he was second.
B
Yeah. What's his name?
A
Dennis Allen.
B
Dennis Allen. Thank you.
A
Yeah, he was the second one fired. Robert Salah was. Yeah, yeah, the jets coach got fired.
B
I think it was like maybe a week or two, but.
A
Yes.
B
Yeah. So, yeah, that was pretty good. And you had, I think Brian Dayball.
A
Brian Dabel was what. They talked a lot about firing him and then had a statement out where they're like, we're not going to fire him.
B
Right. Which means you better win next year or else you're fired.
A
Right. You're fired next year. Yeah. So then we also had. Okay, so what were our mvp.
B
Mvp. I had Josh Allen, which I think.
A
You'Re in the game.
B
Still in the game. It's him or Lamar probably, or Saquon.
A
Right.
B
Those three.
A
Right.
B
You had Tua. So if you were going for concussions, you would have won.
A
Right. If it weren't for that being a bad pick, I would have won. Yeah.
B
And then our super bowl picks, we both had the Bills, which we were a game away.
A
We were right on the doorstep.
B
Yeah. And funny because one of my sleeper picks was Dalton Kincaid and he's probably the one that cost him the game.
A
Right.
B
You had him against Green Bay and I had them against the Lions.
A
So we both went with nfc, NFC north teams. And yeah, I mean the Eagles were a good. Would have been a good pick. But I, I think we. You're right. At the end of last season, we kind of thought that team was falling apart.
B
If you remember that game against the Bucks, it was like one of the worst games they've ever played. That's why it's kind of a cool story that the comeback. But.
A
So, okay, let's go to this season. We are going to talk about what are your picks? Do you have some prop bets? And prop bets are like. They're kind of like these random things you're trying to have happen during the game. If I'm to explain them better than. What. How would you explain a prop bet? It's like.
B
Yeah, it's. It's something. It's not like you'd normally bet on the point spread of the game or the over under on the points. A prop bet is, you know, how many yards a player is going to have, how many catches.
A
Right.
B
There's so many of the super bowl, they. They go on forever.
A
How long will the National Anthem go?
B
Yeah, that's a Good one.
A
That's a good one. The color of the. Of the Gatorade that gets poured on the coach. Now, you are a big better on the national anthem one. Right?
B
I like the National Anthem, but I like heads or tails. Get it started. Always go tails.
A
So. Well, you're going tails. Okay, so that's your first. Okay, so let's go through your prop bets.
B
Yeah. You know, you got to start off with tails.
A
I mean, okay, so tails never fails. As the. As the rhyme says.
B
Exactly. When I see a guy call heads, I'm like, what? What is he doing?
A
This guy doesn't even know the rhyme. Yeah, right.
B
The other one I like is both kickers. Big legs in this game.
A
Okay.
B
I'm going touchback on the opening kickoff.
A
Touchback on the opening kickoff. I like that as a bet. Not a big winning bet. You're not going to win a lot of money, but you'll get the win 50 minus 2.
B
Okay. Which for the listeners, means you'd have to put up 250 to win 100.
A
Right? Okay, so put up 250.
B
You could put up any increment, but.
A
That'S the reason it gets divided in. If you could do that math. Okay, so what else do you got?
B
Yeah, so that's kind of. I'm trying to, like, get it going, right. You get tails, then you get a kickoff. You're starting.
A
I just like the idea that you're going to be taking a picture with Goofy, right? And you're going to be, like, looking for tails. Looking. Do we know who won the coin toss? And they're gonna be like, what? You know, your kids are gonna be like, dad, we. We need a picture with Minnie Mouse. And you'll be like, hold on. I need to find out what the coin toss was.
B
No, I go into all that the next day.
A
But this is the next day. You check in on your bets. Okay?
B
No, the next day is when the real starts. I'm locked in still.
A
Dad, we're here at Disney. We just got here. Let's go meet Captain Hook. No, no, no. That starts tomorrow. I need to know what the coin toss is.
B
Correct. Okay, we know it's tails, but anyway. Yeah, so National Anthem's always a good one. You know, you gotta think of themes on these. Like, with the National Anthem, it's their moment, right? They're gonna draw it out.
A
Right.
B
You know, the. Over on the National Anthem is always. Because they get caught up. They're looking around, they're feeling.
A
Right. A lot of ego. I. I see the direction a lot of ego in these Hollywood types, as you would say.
B
Yeah, sure. Is you're in Beverly Hills.
A
You know me.
B
Yeah.
A
If I'm going to have a moment, I'm going to make that moment go extra, extra long. Right?
B
Exactly. Exactly. So, yeah, that's where I'm. That's where I'm going next. You know, then I have a couple themes too, and these are normally every year themes for the Super Bowl. I like to. If there's a running quarterback I like or I'd say scrambling more than running.
A
Yeah.
B
They're gonna go that extra mile in the Super Bowl. They know it's the last game of the year.
A
Okay.
B
They.
A
So you. So you subscribe to the idea that if they're a scrambler, they're gonna get more yards. If they're a thrower, they're gonna go for bigger yards because of the stakes of the game. But wouldn't you.
B
No, I'm not talking about throwing. I'm specifically talking about running.
A
Okay.
B
Even a guy like I used to take, like, you know, Peyton Manning, guys that would never run, they're going to run that one time. Like they see three yards, they're going to run for it because put it all on the line.
A
It's the last game of the season. We can get hurt now. We. That is. See, I would have thought that you would take the under on scrambling because they make it higher for that reason. But you make a good point. Like a Peyton Manning type who doesn't run a lot. Like, if the, you know, maybe on a regular season game they're like, ah, we can wait till next play. There is no next play on the surface.
B
Right. The coordinators aren't thinking, oh, let's save them for the next game.
A
Right.
B
You know, like, I would have loved Alan in this game, but for that.
A
Reason he would have really had a lot of. But they would have jacked up those.
B
Yeah, they would have. Everyone I know and you have to factor that in. But Mahomes, people don't think of my homes as much. He had like 60 yards, I think, in the.
A
In the right.
B
The AFC championship. So the over under for Mahomes is 29 and a half. I think it's very doable.
A
That's an over. That's an overplay right there.
B
Yeah. Okay, I mentioned the kickers. I do like the kickers in this game. And they have a long field goal for the game of 47 and a half. I'm going to go over on that.
A
That's an over. And kick. Kicking like. Yeah, there's 50 yard is nothing anymore. Right. That's a good bet game.
B
So 47 and a half. You do have to think these coaches are very aggressive though. They like to go for it on fourth down. So that does hurt the bet a little bit. But. But I still think big leg though, you know, especially early in the game. People like to get points early in the super bowl.
A
So maybe also. Also if it's close. You know, the Kansas City Chiefs are known for having close games. If it's close, you know, 50 yard kick to win the game is like within play.
B
Yeah. And there's another one you might want to dabble with, which is like to dabble 55 or greater. You get a 5 to 1 payout. So.
A
See, I like that. I like that because you can put 20 bucks there. 55 or greater. If it comes up. It comes up. You'll be big in the money.
B
Yeah.
A
If not, it covers every other bet.
B
You go bigger on maybe one like the touchback. I mean that one I think is. I see.
A
Right.
B
No scenario that there's not a touchback in a dome stadium. All that adrenaline kicking off the game, you know. So I say you go bigger there, maybe smaller on. On this one. Less likely. Right. All right, let's see. We got another one I'll dabble with. Is everyone's going to be on Saquon Barkley. We love Saquon. Big guy.
A
A lot of Saquon buzz. He is the star of this game. Other than Mahomes and Travis Kelsey, I'd say he's the biggest name other than them. Yeah.
B
I think there's people who aren't even necessarily rooting for the Eagles who just like him.
A
You know, even you and I stands right. I. I would say you and I are probably as Penn State fans would like to see Saquon do well. Giants fans wish him well because they don't think it was like it, it, it. It is kind of the storyline isn't that he left them. It was more that he wasn't signed by them.
B
Yeah, totally.
A
Yeah.
B
So that was.
A
That means all his numbers are going to be jacked up.
B
That's what I'm saying. So everyone's going to be on Saquon on all the props. A guy people forgot about is Isaiah Pacheco, who's the running back for the Chiefs. He's kind of been hurt and split carries a little bit, but he's been really good in big games. And so first player to 20 yards rushing. He could get that on the first drive of the game. That pays out 1212 to 1.
A
First player to 20 yards rushing. I like that bet. I like it because if they get the ball first we could be there.
B
Yeah. It's not. And then to do with Saquon at that point.
A
Right, right. I like that.
B
So that. That's one maybe sprinkle in and then my other guy. My other theme is Worthy, the wide receiver for. For Kansas City.
A
He's a rookie, right?
B
He's a rookie. He's the fastest combine 40 time in the history of the NFL combine. So he's one of the fastest players if not the fastest player in the NFL.
A
Yeah.
B
And he's got Mahomes throwing to him. So even though he wasn't a great receiver at Texas, he's been very good for the Chiefs, especially in recent weeks. So Worthy's got 55 yards for his over under. I like that. To go over.
A
And what's the payout on that?
B
That's even money. So go over y. Okay, that's the number 55 yards. And then Worthy, this is another one. Kind of like the scrambling quarterback. I always used to take Julian Edelman on this when the Patriots were in it. Rushing yards for a wide receiver.
A
Okay.
B
Going to give Worthy reverse. It's going to happen.
A
Okay.
B
Take that to the bank. His over under on rushing yards is five and a half yards. I like it.
A
To go over Gamblin Thunder, Dan High unworthy. I like it.
B
Yep. So there's a couple themes and then you know, for. For the ladies out there, there's a couple of Taylor Swift bets. Of course.
A
Please, let's get into this.
B
So there's one not. I didn't find these on the traditional.
A
Like fanduel and these are some of your X rated sites that you like was uncovered.
B
But yeah there's. But there's one that's Kansas City Chiefs to win and Travis Kelce to propose to Taylor Swift.
A
So this is. You can find this bet out there.
B
Oh yeah. Kansas City seven and a half to one.
A
It is ridiculous. Ridiculous to think that this is how they would get engaged. Like but. But they would have had. They would have to really be doing this for the press to do it that way. Like seems.
B
It seems crazy to think but I'm thinking maybe someone who's you know, maybe. Maybe a girl's going with her boyfriend to a party doesn't really want to watch this. This will let them stay till the end of the game because that proposal is not happening in the middle of the game.
A
Right.
B
It's happening at the end.
A
So it's happening at the end. I'm just thinking of a world where he proposes after the super bowl to Taylor Swift. And I'm thinking of a world where, like, that is, like, actual. Like, if that happened, I'd be like, we're living in another dimension. Like. Like, for the biggest celebrity alive to get proposed to, as if they're a cheerleader for the Kansas City chief. Like, it just would make no sense, but also make sense at the same time.
B
It would. And like, a lot of the conspiracy theories about the NFL, you know, like.
A
That they did this ratings, and then as if they need more ratings. Like, as if, like, they get paid by the eyeball.
B
But to play devil's advocate to that, sure. If there was one thing that they needed, what was it? It was the female, young, female audience.
A
This is fair.
B
They. They just nailed it. And then this team's about to win three Super Bowls in a row in the prime of her career. I mean, it.
A
It is fair. I'm sure they have sold way more women's clothing, you know, apparel than they have in the past. But I. The. It's like there's a. There's a point where if they did this thing, like, if this was their big plan, we're going to get. If the conspiracy theories are going down this. Right. Well. Well, because if this is their big plan, don't you, like, let's bring it back to gambling. Don't you cash in at a certain point?
B
Right.
A
Or do you go, no, no, no, let's get them engaged. Like, at this point, you've gotten what you wanted.
B
You like to think there's, like, puppet strings being pulled, and they're like, right, I got it.
A
One more.
B
Remember that Boise State guy?
A
Yes.
B
In the Fiesta bowl, he proposed to his girlfriend. And this could make that look like.
A
Well, that's the thing. Like, when it's Boise State and it's the guy whose name we can't remember.
B
And we still remember it, though.
A
We still remember it. But, like, that makes sense that they would do it that way. Taylor Swift, like, can buy an island to go get privately engaged and have a huge engage. I don't know. Yeah, but I. I don't know.
B
There's some other really funny ones, actually.
A
Let's hear some other ones before we get to our game picks, because we got to get our game picked.
B
Yep. All good. Picture of Taylor Swift in Eagles gear shown. She must have had one. I don't know.
A
Well, she's From Philadelphia area. That makes sense. So, yeah.
B
So no is minus 1500. Which, which means they're saying not happening.
A
But there's no way she will be an Eagle. Stuff that would in the same way.
B
Not in the stadium. They're saying a picture shown previous of her wearing.
A
Yeah, that could happen.
B
I know. I, I, it doesn't show the.
A
She was an Eagles. She's from the area from growing up. That could happen. That's like likely to happen, I would think.
B
And then what do you think the over under is for her appearances live.
A
During the Super Bowl 32.
B
Then you should take this bet. Six and a half.
A
Are you kidding me? They're going to show her 40 times. Like, that's crazy.
B
I think they have to dial it down.
A
So over under. They, they're basically saying she will be. You can bet if you think she won't be shown more than six, you can do under or you could do over seven times.
B
Seven times you win. If you take it over six times, you lose.
A
So when does that start from game? Like from game start to game finish. What are the during.
B
It says live during Super Bowl 59, so that's a good point. It's probably from the start of the game.
A
So from the start of the game, if she's shown. I guess it depends on how well you think Kelsey's gonna do because he's. She's gonna get shown every time he gets a big play. So, like, let's say he seemed like.
B
Those pictures of her in the box in Kansas City are just the same picture over and over again.
A
It does feel like that. And they don't. How do you choo sits where, like, who gets that next to Taylor seat? You know, like, because if you're like, imagine you're in a Super bowl, like.
B
You'Re going into the box and you're like, oh, anyone sitting here, you know, you just sit down. They're like, are you kidding me? Right, Right.
A
I'm imagining you in a Super bowl party. You're like, into the game. And Taylor's like, excuse me, I was gonna sit there. And you're like, well, this is where I'm sitting. Like I, I seating in a box. Like, there's a lot of. Like, that's hard to do without her in there.
B
Totally. I agree.
A
That's all right. Okay, who's your pick for the game? Let's, let's finish out with your. Your pick for the game. I've already placed a few bets on this.
B
All right. Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna Go with the Chiefs.
A
Yeah.
B
You know, I don't, I don't feel too strong about it, but it's. This reminds me. It's just. This is the Tom Brady era all over again. It really is. And. And I had this thing where every time I went against Tom Brady, he burned me, like. And I'm now starting. Mahomes is starting to be the Tom Brady. And I don't. Yeah, I, I have a lot more respect for Tom Brady now than I did when he was, you know, lighting.
A
It's nice to finally hear that.
B
Yeah. Well, I can admit to you now, now that you're not a Patriots guy, so.
A
Well, you know, I float. Yeah. But I am a Tom Brady guy.
B
I know. No, but he's, you know, he's. It's like a lot of athletes when they retire, they kind of grow on you because they know, you know, they can't do any more damage to you.
A
Right.
B
But Mahomes is kind of like that to me now.
A
But he does.
B
His voice is very annoying.
A
The voice is tough. The way he plays is point guard. And that's been said before. I'm not the first. Pretty good.
B
I didn't know that, but that is good.
A
He. He is like a point guard. And, and the way he, you know, for people who are like, he's not that good or having a bad season, he still does that thing where he gets that extra yard. He still does that thing where he does the smarter play. He's just so in control. Like, it's just like when you put.
B
That with Andy Reed too.
A
Who's right?
B
Arguably the greatest play caller of all time. I mean, I think back to last year's Super Bowl. Like, you know those little motions he puts guy in the flat right wide open. It's all, It's. He knows what he's doing, you know, and that's how those two together and it's right. Like Brady and Belichick, where.
A
Totally. It's that extra yard. And I would say Andy Reid and Mahomes both have the two yard play and it's like, why do they always win those close games? It's like if you have the two yard play at any time, you're gonna win the close game. Like, it's good. Oh, it's because of the referee. Right? Well, that's the.
B
I mean, think about the Bills. If the Bills had a short yardage play, I think they're in this.
A
They're in the game. They're in the game. And it's like, you see that A lot. Like, because I watched so many Bears games and like they would go for two a lot. And I'm like, every time I watch a Bears game, I'm like, they don't have. I never felt like, oh, we have that two yard play and I have that with Penn State too. Yeah, Penn State stayed on the goal line. I mean, when it's third and one for Penn State, I've never felt confident. I've never felt. I've always felt lucky to get a third and one. And like I always. With with the Chiefs, it's like they have that play. Like, I'd be shocked if they didn't get a third and one.
B
Yeah. Yeah, it was. It'll be interesting to me to see because the Chiefs stopped Allen so many times, which I thought he was unstoppable. So it'll be interesting to see if, if. If Jones and the defensive line can, can stop the tush push, which that plays.
A
It's an unstoppable play. It's annoying. And like, I don't think it should be illegal though. That's the crazy part. Like, there's so much talk of whether it should be illegal, but it's like that is a football play. I, I just don't know how you.
B
Yeah. If they were pulling him across, I think that's different. But pushing. Yeah, I think is. Is legit. But yeah, it's the interesting part is everyone else can do it too and no one can do it as good as them.
A
Nobody. And that probably has to do with like, they have good linemen. They, you know, really, you know, they're. Well, my choice is the Chiefs and the over. I'm heavy on the Chiefs and the over and I think it's Chiefs minus one and a half. So they have to win by more than one and a half. And it's 48 and a half, I think is the combined score. So they have to combined with the other team over 49 or more and I win. My.
B
Doesn't seem very high.
A
Yeah, didn't at the time. I might have changed by then by now, but that's the bet.
B
I have 27, 24. Jared's a winner.
A
There we go.
B
I mean, I don't see the Eagles not scoring 24 points. So. Yeah.
A
Weird things happen in the Super Bowl. They always start slow and then they go quick at the end. So I don't know. I love a. A line and a. I know. I like that bet.
B
Yeah. Unless you're out of it in the second quarter and then you're like, oh, why did I do that?
A
Right? Well, when I do the under, I just sweat my ass off the whole game. So, yeah, yeah, under is no fun Gambling. Thunder. Dan, thank you for coming on the J Train podcast. We, we love having you. I know the audience was clamoring to hear your super bowl picks and we got your back. We wish you the best in Disney World. Is there. What are the kids looking forward to the most? Like, what is the thing that they're like. I got like, like, I just imagine a kid your kid's age. Here's Disney. And it's like, it's like mentioning like heroin. Like they're just like chomping at the bit. Right?
B
It is crazy. It is. I'm trying to cram to like know, you know, all the characters and stuff like that. But no, they're, there's, there's a bunch. You know, my daughter wants the ratatouille. You know, there's my, my son wants all the roller coasters.
A
So.
B
Yeah.
A
Now, have you won enough money this season to get the fast pass? Will you have the lightning pass? Will you be cutting lines? Will you be waving to the peasants as you cut them? Or will you yourself be a peasant in the eight hour line?
B
Well, I can't imagine what you would do if you went right.
A
You can imagine very quickly. There is not, there is not a, there is not a bracelet. I wouldn't have. If I, if I was forced to go, I would literally float on a cloud onto the teacups. There would be not. No stride broken. What are you going to do?
B
Yeah, we're doing that for, for one of the days for sure.
A
Okay.
B
I'm going to see how. If it's necessary because I don't know, I haven't been there very long time since I was.
A
It's necessary. What are you talking about?
B
No, I know. I'm gonna. We're doing it. We're doing it the day after the super bowl, which by the way, the MVP could be roaming around there because I'm going to Disney World.
A
Right. Well, have a great time. Thank you for coming on. That's chit chat Wednesday. We'll be back next week. Boom.
