I, I, you know, I do my prep the night before and then I just Open up page 6 before I start taping to do kind of like, let's make sure we didn't miss anything. This story I can't even believe. And if you have a story you want to send to the podcast, J Train podcast gmail.com J Train podcast gmail.com title it pop Culture Thursday. Let us know a story you want me to riff on. Misty Copeland slams 10 Timothy Chalamet's ballet diss in scathing statement. Here's this story. Sometimes there's a pop culture story that, like, I get a whiff of, but it's kind of far away from where my gaze lands. This Timothy Chalamet story I heard from a distance. It was a whisper to me that Timothy Chalamet somehow has an opinion on ballet. Then and again, I don't search these things out until I do. Then I started like, oh, I read a thing where, like, his parents work with the ballet. The quote that people are angry about is from 2019. 2019 feels like yesterday, but let me give you a reminder that seven, seven, seven years ago. How old is Timothy Chalamet? Is he 27? At a max? So are we talking about a quote from cocky child actor Timothee Chalamet? Is that what we're getting angry about? And then you gotta go, who's getting angry? I think this is the important part. And this is the change we need to make as a society. They are mad. I need three representatives who are mad to come to the front, come to the podium and give a one paragraph statement on why they are so angered. I think we need to get to that point because the theys are angry, they are mad, they are upset. We do this and we just assume that there's half the country who are just shaking their fists at Timothy Chalamet for ruining their ballet dreams. And then we think of half the country going, yeah, he's right, we all hate ballet. When none of that is happening, that's where our brain goes. That's a human thought. Cuz I think it, I do it and I have to stop myself. So I think the, the going the the mantra of this podcast is who is mad? Show me the one person. Cuz I would assume my assumption is that whoever is being spoken about as being the mad person at any pop culture story is the least likable person in the world. Whether you agree with them or not, you would not want to hang out with that person. You don't want to have dinner with them. You don't want to get stuck talking to them at a party. You do not want their style tips. You don't want their advice on your dating life. You want nothing to do with the person who is included in the they are mad description. And then we'd all realize we're all more alike than we think. So but Misty Copeland, she's slamming Timothy Chalamet. I am interested at how the her scathing as it. As it's said by scathing to me, Misty Copeland has to say Timothy, Timothy. For this to be a scathing response, Misty Copeland would have to be like what does that small dick loser know about ballet? Like that would be like jaw dropping. Copeland vs. Chalamet. Misty Copeland is clapping back at Timothy Chalamet's recent claim that quote, no one cares about ballet or opera. Now is he wrong? Yes. Like in the, in the most true sense of no one cares. No people care. There are people who care. Now when someone says no one cares about opera or ballet. Yeah, I would say I agree if you're comparing it to the way we care about NFL football. If you said no one cares about NFL football, you'd be lying, not living in reality. If you say no one cares about ballet. Yeah, if he's. He said that to a bunch of guys his age and the people he's surrounded by. Listen, Ballet news isn't on the front page. The only ballet news we've had in the past decade is this story and Black Swan the movie. Those are the two ballet things. Listen, I am your Average Jim or Joe. I'm Joe average. I'm Jared Average Stein. Telling you I can think of two ballet related stories. You might come with a third. You can't get to a fifth. So no one cares about opera ballet. I would agree. You know why I care about opera? Because a solo is an aria and that's a big crossword question that comes up a lot, the ballet prodigy said during a panel. So now they ask a ballet prodigy. This is the game. This is the game. If you're out here thinking Chalamet's over here, you're the idiot. If you're going, well, Timothy Chalamet is done. Did you hear? Everyone is mad about him slamming the ballet. You're the idiot. You've been had. The ballet. They go to a ballet prodigy. Hey, hey, woman who has dedicated her whole life and has calluses on the end of her thumb toes from standing on them. What do you think of Timothy Chalamet saying that no one cares about ballet? You have any statements? Oh, oh no, I love Timothy. What is she gonna say? The ballet prodigy said during a panel. What panel is she doing per variety that Chalamet shouldn't be comparing his craft to other art forms. He wouldn't be an actor and have the opportunities he has as a movie star if it weren't for opera and ballet and their relevance in that medium, Copeland, 43, explained on Sunday. So all of these mediums have a space that is. That's scathing. That's what we're talking about, she continued. I would be like, hey Misty, cool. Can you stand on your toe for us? Can we see that this is a non statement? She continued. I think it's important that we acknowledge that, yes, this is an art form that's not popular and a pot and a part of pop culture as movies are. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have enduring relevance in the culture. There's a reason that the opera and ballet this is the most I'm a ballet person answer I have ever read, have been around for over 400 years, Copeland added, telling attendees she wants to bring more people into the craft so they understand the importance and relevance and see it reflected everywhere. If I'm Misty Copeland, no one gives a fuck about your boring answer you just gave. If I'm Misty Copeland, I'd be like, hey Timothy, I want to invite you to take a ballet class with me and my Instructor. We're going to put it all on YouTube. It's going to go on my channel. Look at what we did with you up. We did a, a pole dancing class, and you can go watch it on YouTube. I'm going to push you there because I've gotten such a great response to it. People loved it. They saw me in a different light than maybe they even thought I could be. And I got all these compliments, and I'm not sitting here. I never sat here being like, pole dancing? What am I, some loser? That wasn't my response to it. I was like, of course this will be fun. It'll be hilarious. I'm sure Timothy Jalabay would get a lot of value out of doing a, you know, a, a, a a ballet class with Misty Copeland. This is opportunity. Miss. This is Misty Copeland being up her own ass. And this is Timothy Chalamet making us. Do they have when he made the statement? Because I heard it was when he was Chalamet's 30. Hey, he looks 10 weeks ahead of a. Of the film's December 2025 release, Copeland posts an Instagram slideshow leading to a photo of herself sporting a Marty supreme jacket. So she's a fan. Three months later. Oh, so this was recent. Three months later, Chalamet, Slam ballet and opera during a town hall conversation with Matthew McConaughey, produced by CNN and Variety. How does ballet come up? I admire people who go on a talk show and say, hey, we've gotta keep movie theaters alive. We've got to keep this genre alive, he said at the February event. Another part of me feels like if people wanted to see it like Barbie, like Oppenheimer, they're going to see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud. The Oscar nominee went on to to take shots for no reason, saying he didn't want to be working in ballet or opera, where it's like, hey, keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore. Well, that's an opinion of a. Yeah, I guess. Hey, listen, if anyone was to hear that there's a group of people that are like, we need to keep the ballet alive, and hey, it's d. You know, it's like pbs, thanks to viewers like you. If there's a, if there's a, you know, a lot of theaters get kept alive by patrons and donors, the theater wouldn't exist if it was just based on ticket sales. That exists for a lot of arts things. Look at the Arts Garage in Delray Beach. That is a art space. That is kept alive because they get a re. I asked them, I was like, is this donations? They they have volunteers that work there and they get donated. I think they get a really good rent agreement or something based on being who they are. Kathy Lee Gifford savagely calls out the View and then it's quote, there's a viciousness now. I used to go on a thing called the Guys Tell all on the third hour of the Today show. It was Hoda and Kathie Lee before Kathie Lee moved on. I watched how Kathie Lee operates on camera. I mean, famously. They never had me back when there was a misunderstanding. I, I may have referred to Kathie Lee as older, but she got mad. I'm on the show, it's four men from different backgrounds and in dating and relationships talking about dating stuff. So they basically hold a piece of meat above the four men and we have to just try and, you know, get involved for screen time. And one of the men was Sal, the voice from the Voice. Sal, the, the, the young kid with a voice. So in the middle of the segment, they go to commercial and Sal was being like, pushed because he's on the NBC show the Voice. And they go, sal. And we go to commercial. Kathy Lee goes right up to Sal. I heard it's your birthday. He's like, I'm turning 21. You know, he was doing this fake Italian thing where he was like, you know, he was like, everything for Sal, the Voice was out of the 1920s. He's like, I'm turning 21. I'm gonna bring a girl out to Lookout Point and I'm gonna make out with her after some gaba. Go. He's doing this whole bit still off camera. And Kathy Lee goes, 21 he. And I look at her and I, I hear this and I go, kathy, look at that, two kids. She goes, it's no. She goes, it's my birthday too. And I said, look at that, Two kids turning 21. Together. And she looks at me, she goes, are you calling me old? And I was like, what? Like the joke was, yeah, I guess if you look into the joke, I am calling you old. You're not 21. Sorry. Kathy. Kathy Lee. And then she goes, she, like, looked at me for a minute and then they go and we're back and she cut me out of the whole thing. Never had me back. So consider me team, not Kathie Lee. Okay? But when she goes on a show and says the View. So Kathy Lee give her. Thinks the View is a lot meaner now than it used to be. To me, Kathie Lee's trying to sell something and she's mad that the View wouldn't have her on. That's to me, that's what's going on. And it's probably out of this old school media. NBC, abc, we don't have their talent on. They don't have our talent on. So that's probably what she's doing. She wouldn't say this about anybody on NBC because she's an NBC woman. Kathie Lee Gifford thinks the View and she was on Regis and Kathie Lee, which I think may have been an ABC property before that. So she left T Team abc. This is old school daytime stuff. Kathy Lee Gifford thinks the View is a lot meaner now than it used to be. Yeah, it's a lot meaner than when I was on abc. Like, I just don't buy it. Kathie Lee's playing the game. This woman. I, I watched it for my. With my own two peepers. The TV show personality. 72. She looks fantastic again. Not 21. Appeared on Monday's episode of the Tommy Lahren is Fearless podcast. What? She's going on the Tommy Lahren podcast and called out the View. Of course she did. She's on a right wing podcast that literally dines out on Division. Tommy. Tommy Lahren is a grifter. Is the person is literally who I'm just talking about. They're mad that Tommy Lahren makes a living off of. They're angry. And now here's my point about the people who are angry who don't actually exist or not really as big a group as I'm making them out to be. Tommy. And her name of her pocket is Tommy Lahren is fearless. Oh, she's so fearless to say these, these things about a fake group. She invented a straw man she built out of nothing. Called out the View for being more polarizing and vicious than it was Years ago, Gifford brought up the day. I mean, this is the safest conversation ever had in the history of podcasts. Gifford brought up the daytime talk show when host Tommy Lahren asked Gifford if she feels the public is more divided now. Tommy Lahren, shut the fuck up. I can't get over the, the fakeness that I, I can't. You know, it's not Tommy Lahren. It's the fact that anyone buys it. This is, she's an extremely popular and successful orator. You know, I, that's a talk about, a talk about a crossword puzzle word. I mean, she's a, she's a successful broadcaster that's been built on division. Hey, do you think the world is more divided now? Says the person who creates the division as, as she's tearing the country apart with her fake rage bait. Hey, I, I, I'm, I don't know. This is, I told you, this is a brain on the shelf show. I, I, I can't see how I'm saying anything that's disingenuous right now. There's just more of us, and we're meaner now. She said people at least would pretend to have some manners now. There's a viciousness. I mean, I used to be able to go on the View and talk to Joy Behar and Whoopy Goldberg and a lot of other people there. Debbie Matus and I are still good pals. I don't know who that is. And never had a problem, you know, with anybody because they weren't trying to. I don't prolize everything she's saying that I don't know. Proletize is a word that I read, feel like I understand, but couldn't put a definition to it. I think she's on a show where that's all this woman does. That's Tomi Lahren's whole thing is the proselytize. Proselytize means to induce, persuade, or recruit someone to convert to a new faith political party or cause. Yeah, that's kind of like what Tommy Lahren does. She's literally talking to the pot. You know, like, I, I share my faith, but I don't say, you're going to hell if you don't. I don't do that. You know, she continued, I want people to have a little bit more heaven in their life than hell. I mean, is, is Kathy Lee okay? What the is she talking about? This is crazy. I had no idea she went this way. The Tommy Lahren is. There's Only one thing. Jared. Would you go on Tommy lan's podcast? Of course I would. I would go on and I would say, Tommy, all you do is create rage bait. Do you think you've created the division that you're asking people about? What a stupid question. What a stupid answer. I, I, I'm annoyed at all of this. I, we'll go to other stories. They just changed the COVID of Page Six on me. I had like, I had all these stories that I wanted to do. I, I mean, th, this story is great. I did prepare. Don't worry. Listen, as I vamp a little bit. I, I love this story. Ritzy Upper east side private school rocked by scandalous posters revealing alleged staff affair. This is like an only in New York type of thing that Page Six. Page Six, which is a gossip magazine newspaper, ish, that reports on the scene, you know, the, the CNBC of New York City and the world. But it kind of shows you why New York City people are up their own asses. Like if you're, if the private school in your town. My town had a private school, St. Sebastian's and was it private? Yeah, it was a private Catholic school. St. Sebastian's was in Needham. I went to Needham High. There's private schools all around the Boston area, around where I went to high school. The comings and goings of the parents of these private schools and, and wouldn't get reported on by the Boston Globe. It would take a lot to hit the newspapers. Page Six reporting on, hey, these two teachers are fucking and cheating on their spouses. Being, you know, talked about at a Upper east side private school is why people in New York, you go, why, you know, why do they think that they're so special? This is why. This is why the no. 1 report, they're, there's scandal at all private schools. There's scandal at all schools in small towns. But New York, it's in a paper where some chubby Jew is talking about it on his podcast. Like, I, I just think this is like, I, I mean, and this story is one that they eat up. The Upper east side has plunged into scandal after someone plastered the tony neighborhood with posters revealing an alleged affair between two members of the staff at a ultra ritzy Spence school. Now the Spence School, I think, is an all girls school. It is a very nice school. It is a school where, if you've met someone who's gone to Spence, it is a big part of who they are. It is one of those places that, oh, I went, they went to Spence is like a thing. Like you would know that more so than maybe even their college. I I think. When parents and nannies arrive for school drop off at the all exclusive when parents and nannies arrive for school drop off at the exclusive all girls school whose alumni include Gwenneth Paltrow, Kerry Washington, Georgina Bloomberg and Anna Wintour's daughter Be Schaefer to name a few. Again, this is a school that people take a lot of pride in having gone to. They were greeted with printouts and this is one of those schools that this this news. The reason it's in page six all over the country. If you've gone to Spence or know someone at Spencer, you're gonna read this. They were greeted with printouts fluttering in the breeze that read attention spends families redacted as having an affair with their subordinate Redacted who is married with a three year old son. Oi I mean this is an all girls school so I I don't feel bad saying this. These girls are learning how to tick tock young this is they know where the juicy scandal comes from. The Post listed the Spence job titles of both alleged parties to the illicit extracurriculars. One of the alleged lovers has been a trusted member of the staff at the school for more than a decade. I mean you better grade the class on a curve if you're gonna be cheating on your spouse at Spence these kids are not happy about their report cards. Do not they Someone went to detention and they're like I'm letting the world burn. A source tells us that security tore down the signs only to have them reappear by pickup. So they're on their every group chat is blowing up. Said one source of parents who are shelling out over and take a breath. Take a seat right now you're gonna find out what tuition is. 70,000 a year in tuition. That's crazy. People are literally losing their minds. We're told their leading theory is that the married employees scorned wife is behind the vengeful flyers. Yeah, well that's the first place you point your finger. I'm thinking it's one of the seniors. What? A senior prank? The fact that the wife had the balls to go to Kinko. Scorched earth policy, says a source. A rep for the school told us it will not be commenting. The K12 school is known as a feeder to the actual Ivy League. A yes. Big time school. I so listen if you're listening, I'm on the road Salt Lake City. If you're listening this deep into the podcast. We've done a couple stories. Salt Lake City. I am going to be at Wise Guys. I've added dates, my calendar, West Hampton Beach, Portland, Maine, Tempe, Arizona, L.A. los Angeles. Need the Los Angeles people to sell that show out. I'm. I'm in a theater. It'll be a great show. This story to me is like a dream scenario for anyone who got to witness it. Dak Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos wedding called off. Let me read this better. Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos wedding called off over alleged ongoing infidelity issues. Now, the real story is that this ended at their joint bachelorette bachelor this ended at their joint bachelor bachelorette party. Sarah Jane Ramos called off her wedding to NFL star Dak Prescott after accusing him of ongoing infidelity issues. Page Six is told. A source familiar with the situation claims to us that Ramos believes Prescott had a history of communicating with other women during his relationship with her, but that she stayed with him hoping he would clean up his act for the sake of their family. The former couple shared daughters Margaret, 2, and Aurora, almost 10 months old. I mean, you need to know the first we're told. Ramos and Prescott, both 32, had serious conversations about this in January ahead of their wedding, which was set to take place in Lake Como, Italy, next month. The two recently celebrated a joint bachelor bachelorette party with a trip to the Bahamas. Can you imagine being at a joint. A joint bachelor bachelorette party is crazy on its own. It is insane that anyone would do that. It is something where the couple is either wildly crazy or share a close group of friends that is a special group. So it doesn't just happen. If someone wanted a joint bachelor bachelorette party, you're like, oh, they're big God people. They're weird. Or our friends is just a group that no one could really understand. If it's any other explanation, you are on a weird bachelor bachelorette party. Just there's nothing. And you're going to say, well, I had a joint bachelor bachelorette party. Yes, you're in a weird couple. There's something off about you and your husband, you and your wife, your friends all talk about you. The people that went were probably weird, too. It's weird. It's just weird. And to deny it is to deny what reality we all live in. I am not even thinking of a specific person when it comes to anytime I see joint bachelor bachelorette party, and I'm just like a witness to it. I'm like, what's going on there? And it makes Sense he's talking to other women while they're getting engaged, while they're about to get married. He doesn't, he, she doesn't trust him. The initial story about this was that he wanted a, a, a, he wanted a. What's it called? A prenup. And that she didn't want to sign it. Which if I'm her and he's cheating or he's talking to other women. Yeah, I wouldn't want that either. To be signed up for some contract that leaves me not really doing well while we have two kids together. I'm kind of on her side with that. But to end it at the joint bachelor bachelorette party where this ended is actually, I would buy a ticket. I, if, if, if there was a ticket to a ride called hey, this is joint bachelor bachelorette party. The ride at Disney World where they're gonna break up midway through. I would buy that ticket. I would get my popcorn, have my soda and watch the whole thing. Watch the world burn this to me. I envy everyone who was at this party because the two recently celebrated a joint bachelor bachelorette party trip to the Bahamas. One Our source says Ramos and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback stayed behind after their friends left, at which point she found out that he was allegedly using incognito social media profiles to send inappropriate messages to multiple women and ex flings. Hey, so. So they have a joint bachelor bacherette party. Bye, everybody. See ya. And then he's on his burner account being like, oh, look at your titties. This is crazy. They show them in a private jet. We're told the certified wine and spirit specialist confronted. Oh, so she's a wine and spirit specialist Confronted. Prescott. Page six is always page sixing. We're told the certified wine and spirit specialist. No, we're told his fiance confronted. Confronted Prescott made the decision to pull the plug on their nuptials. They went on to say send hundred. They went on to send their. They went on to send their hundreds of wedding guests a joint email announcing the news. Our source adds that Ramos is, quote, done with her romantic relationship with Prescott and wants to focus on co parenting their children. How do you get to the bachelor and bachelorette party and go through the whole thing? And then the last straw. It must have. I can't believe that it. She must have. I mean, they've. He's been caught before. One last chance. And then I listen, I, I actually understand that you're at a batch. I, I think the context matters. You're at your bat when you catch him messaging someone in your kitchen. Okay. It's an X. He wanted to let her know the dress looked good. But when you're on your bachelor bachelorette party and you're still messaging other women, you go, you couldn't even hold off during this event. Are you gonna be DMing women who are responding to you in a tux at our wedding? Like, yeah, I'm on her side. I get it. I get how it happens there. It makes more sense. I mean, they're a good looking couple. They got kids. Well, she's gonna have to go sip some wine. J train podcast, mail.com. if you want to send in an article to have me riff on during this show. We're here every Thursday. Pop Culture Thursday. Back next week. Boom.
