That's right. Every Thursday is a Pop Culture Thursday, where I go to Page Six, I find some articles that interest me and we riff. That's the show. This is an improv show. This is. That's what this is. That's the skill set. I look at these articles. I look at them before I see what's interesting. I write a note or two. The first one, I. I wrote a lot. A note or five. The. The first one fired me up in a way that I came right on here and I was like, I gotta talk about this. This is absolutely batshit cuckoo bananas. The first. The first article, okay, It. It sent me down a rabbit hole. I'm. You're gonna get inside the mind of Jared Freed right now, which I don't know if you care about that or not. Yeah, well, you do. That's what this show is. You're inside the mind of Jared Freedom. If you want to go inside the mind of Jared Freed live, you can come to my show in Norwalk, Connecticut, this Friday, tomorrow. Or you can come to one of my many shows. Vegas, La, we got tickets left in LA. Jacksonville, Austin, Cleveland, Hamptons, Miami, Foxwoods, and Portland, Maine. I got shows in different area codes. You can pre order the book through that website. Walking Red Flag. If you DM me and you have a person that you want to send it to, one fun fact person you want to send it to, your name, their name. Done. I'll make the video. I'll make it funny. That's all I need. That's. That's. I again, I don't want to, like, I, I feel good and bad about myself right now. You ever have a. You ever see something and you feel good and bad at the same time? It's this like oil and water thing. I feel good about myself because I do feel I have talent. I feel bad about myself because I am doing so much and making so little money from it. I. I say that jokingly, like I'm making a living. I. I should be thankful every day. This is. Here's the thing. And I, I hope you can relate because I think we all have this in the social media age. West Wilson, who you know from the summer house. Amanda Batula scandal. West Wilson defends Amanda Batula romance in first interview since Scandal clarifies actual timeline. So I see this and I go, yeah, that's something we would talk about. And they have a picture of west dressed as if he's homesick from school. He is in a. The biggest, comfiest sweatshirt I've ever seen. And his signature I smoke weed ski cap with his. I have read a book glasses on. And I see this article and it's. And. And it says that he went on his podcast. I didn't know it says the sports journalist, as he's called. I. I'm like. And I listen to a lot of sports podcasts. I am a podcast listener. That's why I know what makes a good show. This goes into experience and talent and putting those together and creating a show that I do daily. So I am putting out 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 J train JCU podcasts a week. I also put out two you up podcasts a week with the team at Betches. With. With. Not on my own. Again, I have a team here in the JCU vni. That's it. There's a bigger team with. With bet. So I'm not alone. I'm. I'm putting. I have help, but also I'm paying for that help in all ways, whether it be with Betches we. We split the commish or it be with V and paying to have her services. So. So again, nothing's for free. This is all a business, you understand? So as a small business owner, myself, Jared of Mom and Pop Jared, you know, my. My store, my bodega that I have here. There's a casual interest in Wes Wilson as a podcast. The sports journalist Wes Wilson with a podcast. And he's setting the record straight. So I go to this podcast, the show Me something co host returned to the podcast Monday, and I'm reading this going, wait a minute, didn't we talk about this story on the J Train podcast, Pop Culture Thursday? Which I do this show that I do five times a week if you sign up for the Patreon. Didn't we talk about it like a month ago? Do we. How late? What was west waiting on to. If he had his own podcast, it would be weird, but it's not that weird if you're like, oh, it's a sports podcast. He's gotta be reporting on stuff. He must be at the games. He must be with a press badge. None of this seems to be true because I Go to the podcast. They hadn't filmed since April 9th. So from April 9th to the 21st of April. So 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th. I mean we 10, let's call it 12 days will give them benefit of the doubt. Benny of the D. 11 days in between. In the time. In 11 days. The amount I'm putting out is like in comparison again. Comparison. The thief of joy. I have no joy. But again, this is. I'm taking you inside my mind of. Oh my God. I feel like I put together a good product again. This right now is a performance. You might think Jared's just angry. I am bottling this and serving it to you. I just spent 10 minutes on the toilet thinking about what I'm going to say here. So. So there's preparation from what was he doing from the 10th until the 21st. Let's call it the 10th to the 20th. Let's give the Benny of the D 10 days. In 10 days, I had put out in five. I put out five podcasts. Six, seven. Let's just say I put out 14 podcasts in those 10 days, give or take. Let's go. I'll give it. Let's give Benny the D again. I put out 10 podcasts for his one. So he went on a 12 day sabbatical. You go, well, well, it's not like he has ads. Oh no, he's got ads. It's a 32 minute podcast, something I do daily here. Basically it is presented by the Hard Rock betting app, which the people at Hard Rock, you're welcome to come here. It doesn't start until 2:28. It's a 32 minute podcast, but it shows us 41. We'll get to that. It starts at 2 minutes and 28 minutes into the podcast. Okay. You might say, Jared, you start a little late, you do a little dancing around. I'm doing it. These are prerecorded, you know, done in a studio. Ads. They're not even ads that he's doing. So 2:28 is when they start and then for. Until the 402 mark. Yes, I've, I've listened to the whole podcast. Yes, I do. You don't. You don't have to. He's getting enough listeners to get Hard Rock Bet as a presenting sponsor. 32 Minute Podcast, which is nothing with a co host, Sophie Cunningham, who's in the WNBA. They start at 228. But then it's just. It just. There's no introduction. It just. You're just in a podcast. You're just in A conversation. It's as if you walked into the room while someone else is telling a story. Then at 402 they officially start. So 402 into a 30 minute, 32 minute podcast, they're starting the show. That's when west gives his his, his, his, his actual. He says that the timeline there was no overlap. All you have to know is he says there was. He says, and this is the article the show me something co host return to the podcast Monday to discuss the drama with Sophie Cunningham. There was no overlap. The Summer House star 31 insisted. I know there are a thousand different theories right now, but that is one thing that for sure did not happen. And he goes on to say the Bravo Liberty doubled down, claiming everyone was single when he and betula34 got together. And then he goes into how someone got her phone number and he makes he, he paints her as the victim in this situation, which I don't care about. I, I, I'm officially the ship on me caring about who wronged who. I don't give a shit. I more give a shit. At 8:49 of the pod of the 32 minute podcast, they do a commercial. The, the commercial goes for another two minutes and then, and that's the Hard Rock commercial. That's their presenting sponsor. That's who they have to pay. Then it's 17 minutes to 20, 20 minutes and 30 seconds. And then at 28. So we have the beginning break, the middle break, the 17 minute break, the 28 minute break that goes until 3140. There's four AD, four AD breaks. Ends by talking about the photo shoot for Sports Illustrated that Sophie Cunningham did, which I think is the lead. The lead story is Wes Wilson. Here's what's been going on in my life. I need to answer to what's been going on with the cheating scandal and the accusations. Then it's Sophie, what have you been up to? She just signed a new contract. And he's like, is it more money? And she's like, I, I'm not gonna talk about it. So she's not even talking about the things she should be talking about on a sports show, supposedly. And then she talks about her Sports Illustrated shoot. She's like, oh my God, I had a, a chicken parm sub before doing my photo shoot, relatable to zero people. And then they end at 36, 45 before with that Asian food in the fridge. The next day is awesome. As Wes put it. I'm quoting, I'm misquoting, but I West tells us that he likes cold food out of the fridge, especially Asian food. That's. Those are the nuggets you're gonna get from your four ad break. 32 minute show. So yeah, I'm a little upset with podcasting as an industry right now. And, and, and again they're getting promoted by me included but with Page Six as well. Unbelievable. Un. It is. I don't know who they're getting paid some sort of minimum because the, a lot of the ads are like, you know, the pre taped version. So that's being gotten by, I think they're with Iheartra Radio. It's just, listen, I don't know their deal, so I don't know what they're getting again. I, I said they're making all this money. They're making some money which I listen, this podcast has revenue too. I'm not, I'm not crying poor. I'm crying exhausted. I can't believe 12 days between podcasts and I'm listening. We do have our own ads here that I gotta get to. I'll get to them. I'm just like in shock here. I, I, I listened to that whole podcast. It was a whole lot of nothing. He says that the, this is the sports journalism. I mean you're sitting with a WNBA star of a certain caliber. She's on the fever. No questions about Caitlin Clark. That's who everyone wants to hear about. When you're talking about, they talk. When you're talking about women's basketball, they do talk a lot about Paige Beckers and how she got drafted to the same team as a girlfriend, which is interesting. And then he's, he says nothing of there's no take. It's just I, you know, the Internet's mad. Is, is the take. It's, yes, it is interesting to be drafted on the same team and as your significant other. Yes, it is just there's, there's gotta be more. If you're a sports journalist, you have no other opinion on this. You have no other take. Ultra patches, Ultra pouches, which I like. Looking for a clean way to boost your day. Oh, they also do an ad for the, the basketball show on Netflix with Kate Hudson and it's like the most ad I've ever heard. Oh man. I, this is my, this is my binge watch. Wes, come on. Looking for a clean way to boost your day. I check out ultra pouches. I put one in my lip and it is nicotine free, caffeine free and packed with powerful nootropics and vitamins. Ultra patches give You a Ultra pouches give you a little lift anytime, anywhere. It does zone you in. And I love the tropical flavor. It's somewhere in between chewing on ice and having gum. Great for a flight I'm about to fly. Now I throw in an Ultra. I love it. Ultra pouches come in five great flavors. Cool Mint, wintergreen, tropical watermelon, and the all new blue Raz. You're gonna love them. It's just a great way to change up again. Like I, I have snacks. I'm a snacker just because I like mouth movement. This is a great way to do that. This is one where I'm like, I can't believe I feel bad for Dave Chappelle. Artist Laron Laron Wisen Laron Wison. I. I'm sorry, pronunciation gives Dave Chappelle a $7,000 beeswax sculpture. After bumping into him on the street. This is what I would consider a worst case scenario. You bump into someone on the street and again, I don't know how Page six got to this story. We're going to find out, but just based on the title. You bump into your friend who's an artist. I think bumping into a friend who's an artist is a very high risk thing. Like you bump into me. Jared, what's going on Again? Yes, I'll call myself an artist. I'm an artist at. I can paint a complaint with the best of them. So my art is complaining about Bravo Liberties podcast that nobody should listen to. Not one person should listen to that show. That is a. I listen me. I listen to it so that you don't have to. There isn't more information. If you're like, well, I would still want to know how Wes feels about a man. No, no, no. No questions were asked of him. He released no new information. Wait for the reunion but if you ran into me and. And you go, jared, what's been going on? Well, I got shows this week right down the street. Now you gotta come up with some sort of excuse to not go to my shows. Do you see what happens with an artist? They always got something going on that you don't want to do. And this even goes for Dave Chappelle. Like, again, just, if you see an artist cross the street, go. Go in a different direction. I'm telling you. I'm saying that if you see me and you ask, how. How am I? I'm going to say, I'm good. What's going on? Don't do that question. What's going on? Whatever. I'm going to bring up next thing you don't want to do unless you want to do it, which. Which I would have bet you don't. Everyone doesn't want to do something until after they've done it. And they go, oh, that was actually a good time. That's how normal people are. Weirdos go, let me come to your event tomorrow. I'll be there tomorrow. Oh, my God. I was looking for something to do. No one wants to leave the house. Artist Laron Wise. What? What a what a plug. I'll be in Norwalk, Connecticut, this Saturday, this Friday. This has been real. I don't know you. If you hate me, you really hate me even more this. This, this episode. All timer, in my opinion, now you really hate me. And now I'm giving my opinion on my own show. Artist Laron Wisen gives Dave Chappelle a se. So you bump into this guy on the street. You're like, oh, the sculptor. And you go, whoa, sculptor. What have you been up to? I actually have something for you. And you're like, well, okay, we'll mail it. No, no, no. It's upstairs. I'll grab it for you now. Now he hands you a $7,000 beeswax sculpture, and you gotta walk around with it for the day. You gotta go home with it. You're not. You're. You're in the middle of the street. How did this happen? Who says there aren't good deals to be had in soho anymore? Dave Chappelle secured the perfect deal on an art piece while he was walking around in the downtown neighborhood on Thursday, the comedian was on his way to a beloved brunch spot, Sedell's, when he spotted artist LaRone. It said, I think it's Wilson. I think they misspelled it Wise in here. And then Wilson here. Okay, passing by with One of his original beeswax sculptures in hand. We're told Chappelle stopped Wilson. It says Wilson here, and commissioned his work on the spot. But Wilson told us the comic was so engaging, I, I just gave it to him and told him not to worry about it. I, I, I mean, both, I've, now I'm, I'm, I'm changing my opinion. Chappelle is the real weirdo here. You're walking by someone with their art in their hand, and you're like, what is that? And they're like, it's a beeswax sculpture. I made it. I'll take it. Oh, okay. How much is it? Well, what are you going to do? Venmo them 7 grand. Wilson, who counts swizz, beats Tommy Hilfiger and Giancarlo Esposito as his collectors, told us the piece he gave Chappelle is worth $7,000. How do you put a price on that? He plans to make a. Make Chappelle a larger piece, only this time he'll ask for payment. So this was like a sweetener. Their spontaneous run in was a reunion of sorts. The pair have met before. In 2021, we reported that Chappelle wished Wilson a happy Father's Day near the same location. What if Chappelle's just waiting around here to get free from this guy? The comedian is regularly spotted in the neighborhood, often with local pal Chris Rock, whenever he comes to New York from his home in Ohio. Meanwhile, Chappelle's old show has been on his mind in an interview, and then they go into, like, all the interviews he's had. This guy's name's Wilson. It's, it's wrong in the title. He uses beeswax to create his sculptured paintings. They are beautiful in texture. There's a texture to them. I don't know. I don't want to run into an artist on the street. I feel like, oh, what's that? Well, this is my Beeswax sculpture. Here you go. You gotta go home. He's on his way to brunch now. It's gonna be on the table. So Dell's not a big restaurant. This is no West Wilson podcast. We, we only have two. Okay, let's go to another story. This story interested me because it just shows you how much stress is on this wedding. Zoe Kravitz in invite status for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding revealed after feud rumors like, everything about this wedding is gonna be under a magnifying glass. And I, I don't know who I, I, I, I feel for. I feel for Travis and Taylor. I, I mean, I don't feel for them. I, I guess like, when you hear, like, will they, won't they invite this friend that we remember, she kind of had some issues with, like, everyone who's ever been connected to Taylor is now being looked at. And this is like a, I think this is a lesson for drama. Like, your drama just doesn't end. You write a bunch of albums about exes. All those exes on the day of the wedding, they gotta make sure they're sitting pleasantly. They're not posting things like, let's say one of her exes, let's say John Mayer. Isn't that an ex of hers? Whatever it is decides, oh, look at this fun trip I had. And they post on the same day as her wedding. That is a news story. And it's like, drama invites drama. So like, I don't know what Zoe Kravitz and Taylor had beef on what bad blood. Despite rampant rumors that Taylor Swift and Zoe Kravitz are feuding, a source tells Page Six that the actress is invited to her pal's upcoming wedding to Travis. Kelsey again, if you kind of have beef, you have to invite them so that it's not huge beef. Because if, let's say she doesn't go, oh, I just didn't. Couldn't make it. Couldn't make it to the wedding of quite literally the century. This is our princess die. This is our royalty. This is a royal wedding. Like the, the idea. Oh, I had other things going on. I had a dentist appointment. No. The Big Little Lies star 37 is expected to watch the couple tie the knot in New York City in July. And they're doing it in New York City like it does. I, I, I began this by saying I might feel for Taylor and Travis. I don't know this, to me, this tells you everything about Taylor Swift. This lets you know you are what your actions say you are. And Taylor, who's written about every ex ever who then decides to have get married and we'll do in this small town called New York City, like any, she has every right to. But your decisions reveal yourself. They reveal you. Taylor, who could have you. She could have had a wedding anywhere on earth and done it in secret without you or I knowing. And then we'd go, she got married in secret. Yes, but now she's gonna have it in the center of it all. Earlier this month, Dumois shared an alleged insider's claim that Kravitz was not on the guest list and felt actually mad about the snub. Yes, I would be mad, too. This is more than, than an invitation. This is more than not getting invited. This is now I have to answer to it because we were friends and people think we're feuding. The outlet labeled Swift's friendship with the Emmy nominee who is dating her ex, Harry Styles Dunzo. She's dating her ex again. Again. This is like, no one wants to hear this. Like, we got great albums out of it. We got an artist being inspired from the the perceived insults of her life. But also it's a lesson for creating drama. Continuing drama Hashing out beef. Kravitz friendship with the pop star dates back to 2016, with the pair growing extra clothes after quarantine together in London in 2020, they show Kravitz with Harry Styles. She was my pod the Bling Twice star told GQ two years after they hunkered down together. She was very part, important part of being in London. Kravitz recalled in the 2022 interview. Just having a friend that I could see that could make me home. Cooked meals and dinner on my birthday. Well, that doesn't, that's. She's cooking her meals. What was the exchange during last year's deadly California wildfires? Kravitz and mom. I remember this. Lisa Bonet stayed at the Grammy winners Grammy winners Beverly Hills, California home for about two weeks. What could have gone wrong? What is the beef in two years when she's had, like, it's tough to have beef when you have a boyfriend and you've gone whisked away on this, you know, on this tour, they had a huge door. The filmmaker confessed on Late Night with seth Meyers in 2025 that she was not a good house guest. We, we saw that. We did that here. Kravitz is gorgeous. They showed a picture of her. She is unbelievable. The mother, daughter, pair as well as Swift's house manager was forced to destroy the space. We know this story. She destroyed the space, ripping the tile up. We know elsewhere in the sit Down. Swift made a rare comment about her and Kelsey's nuptials while joking about sending secretive wedding invites that would dissolve into dust. See, she knows how important this, this invitation is. Then they recap the story. They don't really give us much. What is the fight? While the duo had been planning an intimate Rhode island wedding in June, Page Six reported in November that they were considering scrapping the idea to go all out with more guests. We confirmed earlier this month that their save the dates have been sent. Swift and Kelsey have been an item. We know. So I just think that this wedding, being invited is both a blessing and a curse. I mean, what about the normals? What about, like, the people from, like, her hometown in Pennsylvania who get invited? Like, how do they get there? Is it a cost to them? That's the interest I have is what is the cost to be at this wedding? And is Taylor paying that bill? You would assume yes. That's the class move. Hey, I live this lifestyle. I want you there. Don't touch your wallet. I'll get you there. I'm making all the accommodations. Here's a story that made me instantly like, hey, I feel for this girl, Haley Duff. Who? Hillary Duff is on this comeback tour where she's doing her music and she's doing the dance moves from Disney Channel shows. It is one of those Hillary Duff. We don't know if she is likable or not. She is. I, I, I don't know my vibe on Hillary Duff. She seems fine, but she does not talk to her sister famously. I, and I think she has a new song that she's even admitted publicly that this is not that it's about them not talking. I think it's called we don't talk Anymore. So. And the sister made a run. The sister tried. And, and that is the tough part about being the star's sibling is that you do get the option to try. And you're probably at an age where you're like, of course I'll try. I'm me. I'm also a star. And then you have to hear from the public that, can you move out of the way? Hillary's here. Lizzie McGuire. Can you move, Haley? Lizzie McGuire's here. And right now we are in an era where nostalgia wins. And now she gets this. It's almost as if this would be like a fairy tale. A witch put a spell on two sisters. One gets the glow and adoration of the public in Hollywood. And we're cheering for you, Hillary. And the other. Can you move out of the way? Excuse me. Because look at this headline. Why Haley Duff and ex fiance Matt Rosenberg never tied the knot during a 12 year engagement. They were engaged for 12 years and then the breakup happened recently. Haley Duff was engaged to Matt Rosenberg for 12 years before their breakup and spoke candidly over the years about why they never walked down the aisle. Well, now they're broken up, so the review could easily be probably not what they had been saying all these years. They probably the. You're engaged for 12 years because something is wrong, not because you. And then you explain it to us in a way where nothing's wrong. And now that you've broken up, we can go, there must have been something wrong because that's just not how it works. And the breakup, I do think is in part. And if you're to look at it from, from, from our angle, which is a million miles away, we have no idea what's going on. But it's a little bit of a quinky dink that sister makes comeback, goes on tour, has a, has a song about, I don't talk to my sister and then, hey, my engagement of 12 years is off you go. Okay, something is off here. The actress was asked about the couple's plans to tie the knot in 2021. Access Hollywood interview seven years after that then partner got down on one knee. If you're going to put this off, we didn't plan to not get married. We just had been busy having kids, filming shows and him working. Yeah, that's not a good enough explanation. That's not how it works. Duff, 41, said at the time, life kind of got away from us. To be perfectly honest, I, I if true. Quite a spectacular tale. The 7th Heaven alum. 7th? I don't know her, I guess. Went on to reference daughter Ryan, now 10, and daughter Lulu's now seven, explaining that she and Roseburg always felt they would wed if it ever was, like, important to the girls. Well, I, I just, I consider me not buying it. I, I gotta say, I now, anytime I get dressed up in something nice, Ryan is like, mommy, that's so beautiful. Are you gonna wear it to your wedding? I mean, again, is this a witch who put a curse on Haley Duff? Haley Duff, sister of beloved teen star who doesn't talk to her, who made a song about not talking to her, gets engaged, doesn't get engaged for 12 years. Daughters are saying anytime she gets dressed up to go to a meeting. Is that what you're gonna wear to your wedding? No, I'm not getting married. Dad and I are fine. We're good. But you said if you wanted, if we wanted you to get married, you'll get married. Yeah, we will. We'll do it. Duff joked about possible Texas wedding in the future and clarified she and her partner were having the talks about things like that. Well, now that you break up, you go, what happened here? Because the real Girl's Kitchen star, I mean, they gotta, they do sister of Hillary Duff and sister Hillary doesn't talk to. We also kind of thought as soon as we were done having kids, we would do it, but here we are. Tough quote. He looks like the guy who would be engaged. Don't let that last name fool you. This is not a Nebish Jewish guy. Matt Rosenberg split after 12 year engagement. I mean, like that, even the headline is brutal. He's got an arm sleeve tattoo and he looks like he would be in the movie Prison Break. He looks like the guy from Prison Break. He looks like guy who doesn't get married. But yeah, she's my, my kid's mom and we still live together. Around the first of the year, they called it quits. I feel this stinks. The couple started dating in 2012 with Rosenberg getting down on one knee in 2014. Matches took me by total surprise and proposed on April Fool's Day of all days. Hey, this woman's life. Someone look after Haley. Is it a joke? Is it not? Was the April Fool's Day prank that he was gonna be engaged to her for 12 years? The moment was genuine and sweet like him. And I couldn't say, wait to say yes. So he gets down without her knowing her nail's not done. Probably, hey, let's just do this. He's probably not a great boyfriend. She's been asking about it. I'll do it. And then she gets what she wants. And six months later she's like, are we gonna do. When are we gonna plan the wedding? He's like, ah, we'll get to it. Oh, you're pregnant.
