Vacation is coming up and Dave's family has plans to go to his house (all 15 of them!) Carmen's going to Utah for her vacation and is thinking about extending her time there with her daughters to play some Mahjongg. Carmen is trying to get Jules to come on the Mahjongg train with her. But Jules is having a hard time with it. Jules's daughter has a summer job helping out the neighbors going over to their houses and performing certain tasks, like sitting with Grandma (not on!) Jules is also helping her with some dog grooming. It's Wednesday, which means the time has come for our Midweek Praise Break. This week's songs included Build My Life by Pat Barrett, Firm Foundation by Cody Carnes, and Graves Into Gardens by Brandon Lake. And we had time for a bonus song with Phil Wickham's Running To A Runaway. As the coach of the Cape Verde soccer team was building his roster, he had to go an unusual route to recruit one player - a DM on LinkedIn. After going to an industry conference and seeing Jaye King perform a song live, Dave put the song on our airwaves. Jaye heard about it and shared it on social media that the station he grew up listening to was now playing his music. Bill and Carmen also got to hear the song for the first time. Carmen is considering getting the new Adidas Samba shoes in the Mary Jane Style and wants to know if it is a trend that will come and go or is here to stay. Would you go on an Admin Date? Bill explains what that entails. Ford Taylor is coming to a city near you to share his message on Transformational Leadership and you should make every effort to go! 00:32 Vacation Invasion Update 04:18 Carmen's vacation in Utah 06:52 Jules and Mahjongg (Part 1) 10:38 Jules and Mahjongg (Part 2) 13:16 Jules - Dog Grooming 16:49 Midweek Praise Break coming up 18:36 Midweek Praise Break - Build My Life/ Firm Foundation/ Graves Into Gardens 20:26 Midweek Praise Break Bonus Song - Running To A Runaway 21:54 Cape Verde Player joins team after Linkedin DM 26:15 Jaye King reaction to playing his song 29:24 Bill and Carmen react to Jaye's song 30:42 Carmen - Adidas Mary Janes? 35:02 Texts 37:53 Admin Dates 43:50 Ford Taylor Conferences Coming Up 48:01 Fountainhead

We're thrilled to share with you that Candice is making her way to being back on the airwaves of The JOY FM on her midday shift. She'll start there tomorrow but we asked her to come in this morning and share about the accident and how God has been present in her life throughout the ordeal. Before she came in, we talked about our weekends, the World Cup, NBA and NHL Champions, and a reflection on the 250th anniversary of the U.S.A. 00:32 6 hour Mahjongg match 05:05 Bill went fishing 08:18 Candice coming in later 09:27 Dave's FaceTime with Emmie 12:45 A Big Sports Weekend 16:22 America 250 - the 5 Big Ideas 18:59 Preambel to the Constitution 22:08 Candice - the accident 28:06 Candice - First responders 33:05 Candice - Physical Therapy/ Stickers/ miracles throughout 39:05 Candice - hearing/ Hospital roommate 45:47 Candice - continued recovery on jaw, shoulder and ear 51:51 Candice - Her relationship with God now

Carmen was so focused in on our friendly competition yesterday while filming social media content that she felt like she may owe Bill a 6-step apology. And well, we're still not sure she's apologized. Ford Taylor will get your attention with his teachings on Transformational Leadership and he's coming to a city near you soon! All around the world, sports fans are focused in on The World Cup which started yesterday. Bill kicked off our coverage of the games with a little quiz for Dave and Carmen. Dave was focused in on a clip from The Chosen on Instagram and shared it with us. As the cast of the show is filming season 7, they shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the actors reacting to the Crucifixion scene. Steven Bartlett, the host of The Diary Of A CEO podcast, seems to be focusing more on faith as he recently had John Lennox on to discuss AI and faith. It led us to talking about the inward focus we sometimes have on our own struggles with faith and relationships and how focusing on others will help us move forward. We've been so focused on other things that we almost forgot to acknowledge the New York Knicks big win in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. 00:32 Carmen's 6-step camp analogy 05:40 Carmne's 6-step (Part 2) 09:41 Ford Taylor's Transformational Leadership Conferences Coming Soon 13:27 World Cup Quiz 15:56 The Chosen Instagram Post 20:05 The Chosen Season 6 22:16 John Lennox on The Diary Of A CEO podcast 27:18 Struggling with faith and relationship 31:52 What About Bob? and moving forward 36:52 Knick's "Miracle" Win 38:31 Bill's BIG Word

We're gonna give Camp JOY a try today as the social media team has asked us to be ready to film a lot of content later today. But not all of us read our emails in time... Carmen and Dave got on a FaceTime call yesterday with Candice as she's gonna try and join us at Camp JOY and may try to make her way back to the studio soon. Bill tried to give us an update on the World Cup. It didn't go so well. Carmen, in an effort to appease Hitch then tried to redeem them. That didn't go so well either... We want to try a new TikTok food trend... Pan-Fried Krispy Kreme donuts! Carmen thinks she needs a college degree to try and get a new door for her home, because it's so complicated. Christine then called to offer some help as her company tries to their customers with their "Door University". Matthew West tried to write a song for another artist but it went in a different direction. That reminded Carmen of a song he wrote for Mandisa. Bill and Dave tried to bring Haley in to slow down Carmen with her Mahjongg fanaticism. And while she was here we talked Camp JOY and how she tried to help Bill with a heads up on the email she sent so he could be fully prepared for today's events. 00:32 Camp JOY Today 03:12 Candice Update 07:40 Our World Cup FAILURE 11:51 Take 2 - Another World Cup FAILURE 15:18 Pan-Fried Krispy Kreme Donuts 19:02 Texts 21:04 Carmen needs a degree for a new door 28:08 Call from Christine - Door University 29:10 Matthew West - song for Mandisa 34:22 Reaction to the song 36:30 Haley - Carmen's Mahjongg Fanaticism 42:20 Haley - Camp JOY

As the U.S.A. celebrates 250 years, it's taken a lot of work and we are still a work in progress. Bill shared some insight into the early years and the quest for religious freedom. He also shared a list of movies that celebrate Americana. Before you put the work in today, the Midweek Praise Break is here to help you get started and Carmen had a theme (you'll see why in the titles) in the songs: 1000 Names by Phil Wickham, Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship, and I Know A Name by Brandon Lake and CeCe Winans. As Bill listened to those songs, he was reminded of the name Mark and more specifically, the first chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Carmen thinks she's a bit late to this trend but she may be putting her daughter to work on some recipes with dates. Patrick Renna, who played "Ham" in The Sandlot is working on a new project involving some of the actors from that film. The newest employee of The JOY FM is an old friend. Gregory stopped by the station yesterday and after spending some time with him, we asked him to come help out around the station with a few things next week. There has been a decline in the number of teens seeking summer jobs. It got us thinking about the reasons for that decline and reminiscing about our old summer jobs. Carmen has put a lot of work in at The JOY FM in a number of different roles. Today, she celebrated her 22nd anniversary working here! Dave didn't put a lot of work into his research but did acknowledge that the World Cup starts tomorrow. And it also didn't take a lot of work to correct him on a mention about geography. 00:32 America 250 - Religious Freedom 04:11 America 250 movies 07:53 Midweek Praise Break - 1000 Names, Beautiful Name, I Know A Name 09:42 Mark 1 11:01 Things to do with Dates 15:05 Texts 18:15 Dugout Dads 21:02 Gregory, the newest employee 25:36 Decline in Summer Jobs 29:47 Dave and Bill's Summer Jobs 33:05 Texts 37:05 Carmen's 22nd Work Anniversary today 44:13 Dave's World Cup knowledge 49:25 Texts

When you stop what you are doing and listen to the lyrics of a song like "Good" by Matthew West it can lead you to places like 2nd Samuel 6. And that can make you want to listen to songs that are a bit of a throwback that might not actually be in your music library like Undignified by David Crowder Band. Another artist, Darren Mulligan, stopped Dave at a recent conference to ask how he was doing and as he listened he really took the time to stop and question Dave on how he was really doing. Just as Dave was going to bed last night, he got a text that made him stop and look at his schedule as his boys are planning their vacations along with his which will likely result in a family invasion of Dave's house. Feeling rushed like Bill? Stop and listen to 11 Ways To Make You Feel Less Rushed. And really listen between Carmen's snorts!!! Dave got a FaceTime call from his granddaughter wanting him to look at her new pet, a Hercules beetle. Parts of Florida stopped in their tracks yesterday as they felt the effects of a 6.1-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Cuba. We heard from several of you with your stories on what happened yesterday. And it led Bill to stop and look for scriptural help for those times in our lives that feel like figurative earthquakes. Carmen is looking at a new Instagram feature and trying to figure out if she wants to use it. Dave looked himself up on Google yesterday and rediscovered an old blog that he stopped doing a long time ago. His first entry reminded him of the time he and Carmen met Steven Curtis Chapman in the valley of his daughter's funeral. It also reminded them of the time they hit a bump and TomTom made them look and listen to directions in Spanish. 00:32 2 Samuel 6 07:26 Undignified by David Crowder Band 09:04 Darren Mulligan 11:48 Dave's Vacation/Family Invasion Plans 14:35 11 Ways To Make You Feel Less Rushed In A Busy Week 21:06 11 Ways To Make You Feel Less Rushed In A Busy Week (Part 2) 27:07 Emmie's new pet - Hercules Beetle 31:20 Florida feels earthquake 34:58 Texts 37:32 Scriptural Help for Figurative Earthquakes in Life 40:29 Instagram's new feature 47:50 Dave rediscovering his old blog 52:24 Bill's BIG Word

Dave had better things to do this weekend but he had to get a move on with his mower before the HOA complained. Carmen didn't move very far from the Mahjongg table yesterday. And Bill had a busy weekend punctuated by his wedding anniversary. A new song from Cain, "Living Water" will certainly get your soul stirring on a Monday morning. As a part of Bill's busy weekend, he had to preach on the "Power of the Spirit". Dave shared last week that he had a bracelet that was broken. It's all better now with a replacement and it made us think of Candice who is doing much better and can move her jaw a little more now that the wires are out. If you are looking to move into retirement, there's a list of states you may want to avoid and a list of states that are the most attractive to retirees. One of the many reasons that the early American pilgrims made the move to this land was for a better life that included more religious freedom. Bill shared some thoughts about that as we get closer to the 250th anniversary of our nation. Traffic near Chattanooga was not moving much this weekend but they got a pretty spectacular display as a trailer carrying fireworks went up in flames. With kids out for summer, it can be stressful to find ways to keep your kids moving through the days. Carmen encouraged the opportunity to slow down and savor your time with kids, including periods of boredom. Dave took the time to encourage us to go outside and don't rely on screens for a better summertime experience. Bill is always making moves to track his health. And he made an interesting finding that took Dave and Carmen on a hard right! A Georgia man may have made the wrong moves with the roof on an abandoned house. 00:32 Weekend Happenings 02:18 Cain - Living Water 03:39 Bill's Anniversary 07:02 Sermon - Power of the Spirit 09:56 Broken things better than before 14:20 Candice Update 18:24 Worst States to Retire In 22:06 Top States to Retire In 25:48 America 250 - Religious Freedom 29:26 Chattanooga's Accidental Roadside Fireworks 31:23 Value summertime with kids 35:05 Reaction to 18 Summers 36:00 Go outside and don't rely on screens 38:35 Prodigal Devotional/ Bill's right leg weight 43:40 GA man accused of stealing roof 45:55 Bill's BIG Word

No...not the feedback that messes with the radio signal. We're talking feedback from all sorts of conversations. We'd love to hear your feedback on The 4th of July JOY Drop Shop. Despite previous feedback, Bill pushed ahead with a Friday-themed game for Dave and Carmen. We've gotten a lot of feedback from our conversation with Ford Taylor. And he shared how thankful he was for receiving some feedback that might have been hard to hear the first time but will help him improve for the next time. Steve The Mechanic's son, Garrett, works around the building cleaning up some of our messes. He joined Jayar for his Thursday Afternoon Chat, and gave him some feedback on some of the issues he deals with the most. Phil Becker, a radio industry analyst, gave some feedback to mainstream radio after spending some time at the Christian Music Broadcasters conference last week. Ford has gotten some feedback on their vehicles lately that led to some recall notices and even a "Do Not Drive" notice. Bill, of all people, gave us the feedback from New York sports fans excited to see the Knicks in the NBA Finals for the first time in a long time. We've had a family friend of Bill's doing some job shadowing this week. Easton joined Dave, Bill and Carmen to give some feedback on what he's learned from his observations. 00:32 JOY Drop and Ford Taylor 01:57 First Thing Friday 03:19 Ford Taylor and Gossip 09:20 Ford Taylor - peacekeepers and peacemakers 17:17 Carmen gives Ford feedback 19:20 Bumper Buddies 23:18 JOY Drop Shop last day 25:26 Garrett on The Jayar Show 32:09 Phil Becker - lessongs from Christian Radio 36:25 Ford Recall and Do Not Drive notices 39:42 4th of July JOY Drop 42:30 Bill's NBA FInals update 45:41 Easton's job shadowing 49:52 JOY Drop 52:50 Bill's BIG Word

Have you considered getting one of the items in our 4th of July JOY Drop? Don't wait too long! The online pop-up shop will close tomorrow. Bill was curious if Dave and Carmen had considered watching the release of the crested ibis. But once he asked that question all they could consider was the ibis synonymous with the University of Miami Hurricanes. Dave shared how that bird is considered the "Waffle House of Birds". As Dave considered the next song to add to the playlist he wanted the reaction to a new song from Franni Cash. You may want to consider attending a Ford Taylor Live conference. He spent time with the staff of The JOY FM earlier this week and shared his Biblically-based teachings on Transformational Leadership including a "relactional" relationship, the 6-step apology, and putting a stop to gossip. 00:32 JOY Drop Experience 04:35 Crested Ibis Release 07:53 White Ibis - Waffle House of Birds 09:36 Carmen's considering a later bedtime 14:07 JOY Drop Shop 16:25 Bill's awkwardness in outtakes 19:40 Franni Cash - Jesus All Along 23:16 Reaction to the song 24:47 Ford Taylor - Transforming Organizational Culture 31:46 Defining Relactional 41:35 More on relactional relationships 46:00 What's different about a Ford Taylor conference? 52:57 The 6-Step Apology 1:01:52 Gossip 1:10:00 Peacekeepers and Peacemakers
