Maybe I'm just, like, weird. Maybe I'm crunchy. This is the Southern Tea with Lindsay Chrisley. I think it's so funny when you get Christmas cards and all of these people write their children's accomplishments on the back. I don't love them. A Southern girl and a boy mom who's trying to navigate life while staying true to her roots. I am a functioning, non functioning human being right now. Join Lindsay each week as she swears to spill the tea, the whole tea, and nothing but the tea. Tea that is the tea. Here's Lindsay. Good morning and welcome back to another episode of the Southern Tea. This week is going to be very different. We are doing a crossover episode. This is part one and part two will air on Coffee Convo's podcast tomorrow. Welcome, Kale.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Thanks for having me.
Lindsay Chrisley
This is weird.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
This is so weird. And I sort of don't even know where to begin. My first question for you, just to sort of give people an idea of why we're here, is what brought us to this point? Why are we sitting here in this way?
Lindsay Chrisley
You know, I wish I had a clean answer to that, but I think it's more than just a direct answer. I never had any intention of doing this. The Lifetime documentary of my family came out. Back to Reality aired roughly eight or nine weeks ago. There was a teaser that came out, and then there were multiple episodes addressing me directly. I was not a participant on this show. I was not asked to participate on this show. Even if I would have been asked, I would not have participated on this show. And then there was a secondary recap episode, as a lot of reality TV people do recap shows that they've been on. That was done on their podcast. When I found out about the Lifetime Back to Reality documentary, or docu series, whatever they called it, I had reached out to my nanny was actually even prior to that, I had been referred to as Cruella by Savannah. And I kind of took it in stride for a couple of days and had posted on my Instagram just Cruella de Vil with 101 Dalmatians and was like, this is gonna be my nightly watch. You know, just kind of taking it on the chin. Move on. Then the trailer aired. My last communication with my nanny was July 8th of 2025, and I had discussed with her about reaching out to my dad to have him give me a call. At that point, regardless of what would have aired on this documentary or docu series, I was willing to have a conversation with him, and I gave her a timeline of when he should reach out. At that point, the show had started airing, and a lot of the things that were aired were inaccurate depictions of what has transpired. He never reached out to me. And the reason that I reached out to my nanny, because I know people will ask, why wouldn't you just reach out to him directly? Number one, I have not talked to him since 2023. I feel like that would be abrupt to just cold text him like that. Also wanted to be respectful of the fact that he's trying to transition from prison back to regular society and did not want to be an added stressor on that situation. So I felt like going through my nanny would be the best thing. Also, it changed my phone number so he couldn't reach out to me. So I wanted her to be able to give him my phone number so that he could reach out in the time that he wanted to reach out. That was July 8th. Now we are late September.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And you still haven't heard from Todd directly?
Lindsay Chrisley
No.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
At this point in July, you cease communication with nanny. The show starts airing. Surely that was an emotional time for you.
Lindsay Chrisley
I have not watched any of the footage from what aired.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
I was instructed by multiple people that work on our collective team for me not to do that for my own mental health.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
They watched and documented for me for the things that I would need to know. I have unfortunately seen a lot of what was said just via through social media, whether that be Tick tock or Instagram. The messages that I have received based off of the narrative that was on the show.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Right.
Lindsay Chrisley
And that has put me in a very emotional place to the point that I completely took myself off of social media altogether for the past seven weeks because I'm driving my kid to school and get him dropped off at school and realize that people are telling me.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
To kill myself because of what they said on the docu series. Correct. Walk us back from the beginning. Your dad, it's. It's no secret that your family and you have had their ups and downs. Right. Like, there's been some estrangements over the years, but most of this all started in 2009. Between 2009 and 2012, what happened during those years that led you to start the estrangement?
Lindsay Chrisley
So, just for everyone who's listening, I do not want it to come off in any way cold or for the delivery to be taken wrong because I have all of the documents that I have. But to be able to actually follow a timeline and to give correct and factual information, I am going to use what has been put together over the years, starting with what you're asking. The first cease and desist that I had received from my dad, I believe was in 2012. I'm going to back up to the 2009 date because that's when our initial estrangement started. I was in college, I've said before, I worked for my dad's company. I was a full time student, was dating Will at the time. My parents had graciously bought me a condo that I was living in. When somebody else buys you something, you have to live by their rules. And I was unwilling to live by their rules. I wanted to be a normal college student like all of my friends and be able to live my life and do the things that I wanted to do as a college student. And unfortunately my dad didn't like that idea.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And when you say live right like a normal college student, did you mean having friends over or what did that look like? Like you just wanted to be. To. Yeah, live a college life.
Lindsay Chrisley
Wanted to live a college life. Like I wanted to be able to go out with my friends and go to the Halloween parties and go to the sorority and fraternity mixers and do all of that. But it was almost like I still lived at home because my dad had a landline that was put into my condo unit to where I would have to call from the landline when I was home so that he knew that I was home.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Why?
Lindsay Chrisley
To make sure that I was meeting curfew. Because that was a part of the agreement for me to live in that place. And while I do understand that my parents paid for that place and you know, in order for me to live there, I needed to respect the rules that they had in place. It's my own fault. I didn't respect the rules. And I made a decision for myself one night with Will after he got done with baseball practice. Practice. He brought his truck over. I gathered all of my personal belongings. And by personal belongings I mean like things that I had purchased for myself or clothes, toiletries, that kind of thing. I didn't take any furniture, I didn't take any TVs. I left the house clean and in the condition that I received it in. I had two vehicles at that time. Left the keys on the counter and left the keys to the unit that I was living in on the counter. And I never looked back. I changed my phone number the next day so he couldn't get in contact with me. And I moved on with my life. I was a normal college student, not proud to say that before marriage, I lived with Will, but that was the options that I had. I now no longer had a job and nowhere to live. And so Will's parents graciously allowed me to move in with Will and his brother into a townhouse that they owned. And we lived there until I was able to financially be able to afford for Will and I to get our own place. And I went to school, and that was it.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
That's why. And when your estrangement started?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes, the initial estrangement. So that was around 2009, when that happened. I don't know exact date, but I know it was the year 2009. And then my granddaddy passed away in July of 2012. There were lots of things that were going on at that time. My dad had filed bankruptcy. I was pregnant with Jackson, newly married. There is another situation that involves another minor child that I am not going to get into because it's not really my story to tell and don't want to rob that from someone. Kyle's girlfriend at that time was also pregnant with Chloe. And so there were a lot of. A lot of things that were going on. I didn't have a relationship with my dad until. And I wouldn't even say it was necessarily a relationship, but I do think that death sometimes bring people together. That's just the reality of the situation. We were both losing somebody that we very much loved jointly. And while those relationships were very separate, we both loved that person. And he was placed in the ICU in a hospital in Atlanta. And that was the first time that I had seen my dad since the. The college estrangement.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So it had been years.
Lindsay Chrisley
Years. I. I saw him in the er. I had been there with my nanny and my papa for in and out of the hospital. My papa would be checked into the er and we would be there six, seven, eight hours. And then finally, when we were able to get them to agree to run tests, I called my biological mom and said, someone needs to get in touch with my dad, because my dad also wasn't on speaking terms with my grandparents at that time.

Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so then you had reached out to your biological mom, which is your dad's ex wife, to hopefully get in contact with your father.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah, I, I did not want to reach out. My papa was sick and I don't know if it was a pride thing for my nanny that she didn't want to reach out. I, I don't have the answers to that. They would have to answer, but I'd reach out to my mom because I felt like my dad needed to know the seriousness of what was going on. To my knowledge, she, she either phoned him or texted him to let him know that his dad was admitted into a hospital.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And by she you mean your mom?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Your mom reached out to your dad.
Lindsay Chrisley
Okay, to let him know that he had been admitted into a hospital and that he probably needed to get there because it didn't look good. And so at that time my dad had a home in Florida. They had been at the beach and my dad drove back and that was the first time I had seen him since the estrangement. My papa was admitted into the ICU after tests had been ran and they had figured out what had actually been going on because it was a period of time that there were health issues. Until they ran the test, we didn't know. And so once he was admitted into the icu, we were doing daily visits there. And so obviously with us all collectively doing daily visits, I'm seeing him on a daily basis.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And then that sort of transitions into the conversation about a pilot and filming for a TV show.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah. So what I think is confusing a little bit about that timeline was that those initial conversations were going on when my papa was still sick. And so because we all went back to the state of South Carolina where we're originally from, we didn't know how long we were going to be there to do the funeral services and have family over to my parents lake house. And like all of these things I believe or it was said to me that the pilot was initially scheduled to film in July. However, when my papa passed away, they moved that and did not start filming the pilot until August.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. Because of the passing and.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. So the end of August and the first week of September 2012, that is when you guys start the pilot for Chrisley Knows Best.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes. Prior to that though, I had received a cease and desist from my dad dated February 20th of 2012. Because of the contents of this email would have information about a story that's not mine to tell. I don't want this specifically shared, but I was having communications with a third party that was not approved of. It alleges in the cease and desist that I told someone that he was bankrupt in Caps lock. Lol. I don't understand. At the time when you receive something like this, you're like, okay, well maybe I did say it because I probably did. And I'm. I'm not saying I didn't say it, but I'm receiving a cease and desist about this. This was roughly around the same time that a bankruptcy would have been filed. So what am I ceasing and desisting from?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I guess I think if you file bankruptcy, it's public records, like it's in public records. So if you did say it, he's basically ceasing and he wants you to cease and desist speaking about his bankruptcy. Is that correct? Would you say that's correct?
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct. But he said that he wasn't bankrupt. In here, I'm being served as final notice. Talking garbage and lies shows how low of a human being you truly are. You told her that she needs to be careful talking to me because I will record her and that I am going bankrupt. You're the only one bankrupt, both financially as well as morally.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
He put that in the text in.
Lindsay Chrisley
This email dated February 20th of 2012.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
But you were willing to look past that at the time of your grandfather's death?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes, I was. I always say I don't live with regret, but that's in fact a lie. Like I do. And I think it's something that we just say, like, live life without regrets and like, everything happens for a reason. No, I let my heart get in the way of my mind.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
In what way do you mean you regret having communications with that person or you regret forgiving him and having conversations with him around the time of your papa's death?
Lindsay Chrisley
At this point, I. While I understand some people might think that this is a crazy way to communicate as family members or like a father and a daughter, I didn't really feel like I needed to forgive him for anything. Right. Like, maybe he just. Yeah, I mean, not a cease and desist. Like, this is the first, like, obviously not legal because it's coming from him. Like anybody can tell you to cease and desist from anything. Right. But this was the first time that anything like this specifically had ever happened. And I will acknowledge the fact that I didn't want to live by his rules from the first estrangement. So there is a part of that that is my responsibility. Right. Like, I chose to leave that situation. So I don't need to forgive him for his rules. Like, that was his rules. That was his property, you know. And so at this point, I didn't. I do not feel like there was a need for forgiveness.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So what is it that you regret?
Lindsay Chrisley
I regret not going back and looking at things in the way that they were and the way that I had the estrangement for those years and felt completely unsupported in school, receiving this cease and desist letter, I should have just kept the relationship somewhat at bay because I knew or should have known that this was not a healthy situation for either of us.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
By keeping the relationship at bay, what does that mean?
Lindsay Chrisley
I think that it's kind of like a. Let's think, like an extended family function. Right. Like, lots of people in the family might be invited to Thanksgiving. And while you might, as people like to say now, Kiki with them over Thanksgiving doesn't mean that they might be in your personal life. You know, it's like a cordial relationship, like, I love you and we're going.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
To leave that here, like sort of at arm's length. I love you from a distance. I'll see you when I see you.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
But not a complete cut and dry exchangement.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
Also, just to say I was pregnant during a lot of this time, so there was a lot, I feel like, emotionally going on. I had just gotten married at the beginning of 2012. I got pregnant way quicker than what I thought I was going to. Got married in January, pregnant, found out I was pregnant the day after Mother's Day. Oh, wow. And my papa had passed away. And this pilot is going on, right? And in my mind, I'm like, okay, I'm just graduated from school. I graduated in a summer semester, a couple of days, actually, before my papa passed away. So I'm roughly around six months pregnant at the time of his passing. And now all of a sudden, we're doing this pilot, and it was kind of positioned to me that we don't know if this will. Like, anything will happen with this. Right. Like, X amount of shows are pitched per year, and only a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of those get picked up. So I'm thinking to myself, I don't really want to do this, but I guess I'll do it, because who's gonna pick us up, you know?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And how was it positioned to you? Did Todd tell you you needed to be a part of it? Did you. Did he ask you or did he tell you?
Lindsay Chrisley
Prior to the pilot ever filming, the producers from the production company had had a couple of zooms with me, and I think they were kind of building out the story of the pilot and how they were going to do the different episodes. And so I. And I don't know because I only can reference what I was involved in, but I would imagine that they probably had those zooms with all of the family members trying to, you know, gain information so that they knew best how to present the family. And so the storyline, I guess, that they decided to go with for me was that I was demanding, you know, this wedding, and basically I was a brat and a. And all of these things. The other kids were still at home, so that was more of, like, the parenting side of stuff. What they didn't know at the time that we were filming the pilot and what no one was forthcoming and I was told not to be forthcoming about was the fact that I was pregnant and also already married.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So production didn't know that.
Lindsay Chrisley
Production did not know that.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Your family knew that.
Lindsay Chrisley
Everybody. Yeah, everybody knew that except production.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. So I think that's important for people to know, just to give full context for listeners of this episode. I think that it's really important for you guys to understand the chance that the, the development and what goes into filming a pilot and it being greenlit into an actual show is slim to none. But it is a huge, huge event in someone's life because it's about to change. No matter how real or how produced it is, it's going to change your life. So I think that is important to.
Lindsay Chrisley
Say and I think that, you know, to that point you don't really realize what you're getting into. You've never done anything like this ever in your life. Like maybe your mom in 1990 might have had a camcorder that was, you know, filming you doing dance recitals and stuff. That's the closest thing that you've ever known of somebody filming you at this time. I didn't even have social media. Like I, I no longer had a Facebook, I had never had an Instagram, like none of that stuff. So you show up to this pilot filming and there's crew everywhere, there's cameras everywhere. You don't really know how to adapt and, and you realize, okay, oh my gosh, if this actually does get picked up, this is what life looks like.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yeah. And it becomes a regular part of your everyday routine. Production doesn't know you're already pregnant, you're already married. But they. And maybe your dad. Did your dad have any parts in what your storyline would be?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes, because he and I had had a conversation of I was not to wear my wedding ring while filming, which was hugely problematic to Will. He did not understand why that wouldn't be a known situation. I think my dad was already in his mind if this does get pick up, that we would do possibly a larger wedding for the next season of the show. If we didn't even know that the pilot was going to air as season one.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
Like that was all unknown. So in our minds it was like, okay, well the first season of the show then will come out with you're pregnant and you're married or a wedding.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so you guys sort of have the conversation. At what point did you then decide, I'm not doing this?
Lindsay Chrisley
So while the pilot was being filmed, there was also one on one or two people. Like I think my parents were interviewed together and then they were one on one with production interviews that were going on. And I was scheduled to film that day and was in my parents hallway leading into the kitchen where they were filming this interview. Call it nosy if you want to call it nosy. I overheard because I was in the hallway them repeating to production that Lindsay was demanding a million dollar wedding.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
While filming.
Lindsay Chrisley
While filming.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So that was decided. That was going to be your storyline. Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
And so that's the point that I went upstairs, gathered the things that I needed to get that were mine, and took off my mic. My dad came upstairs and he said, if you walk away now, you walk away forever. And I said, I'm good with that because I'm not doing this lie. Like, I'm already married and I'm already pregnant. Like, why am I going to be presented as I'm demanding this million dollar wedding for freak's sake? I eloped. Like I'm already married.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Rightfully. So you don't want to upset your actual husband because at the end of the day, you have to go home to your husband and your family.
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So I could see that. And.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I was close to my husband's parents and his family because through the estrangement, that was my family. Right. And so in the event that this does air, what are they gonna think? How do you explain it to someone who's not. They don't. They don't have any knowledge of TV or what the mindset was for that storyline. None of you know if it would have been a situation where we're like, okay, we're all agreeing that we're gonna run with this story and everybody's been made aware. And the jokes on production, that's a different conversation.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Sure. But when your husband is upset about it, you didn't agree to it, and now you're gonna be. And I've, I've always said that about production. If you want me to be the villain, tell me that ahead of time. Don't edit it. And I have no knowledge of it. I'll give you all what you want, but I got to be a part of the plan.
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct. So I could like, let's be teammates here.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
No, I agree with you.

Podcast Host / Interviewer
You then receive letters from attorneys about suing you after you decide to walk away from the show.
Lindsay Chrisley
So I walked away that day. At that time, Will and I were living with my nanny again. Papa had just passed away. We moved in with her while we were building our house. And it was good for me and her. She had just lost her best friend and the love of her life and had not really known a life before him. And so I felt like at that time I wasn't working, I was pregnant. We can go through this together, right? Like, I'm gonna get through my pregnancy and you're gonna get through the early phases of the grieving process. And I can have lunch with her and we can have dinner with her. And that was the whole mindset behind that. So I was at home one day and FedEx came and it was a letter that was addressed to me and it was from an attorney named Harrison J. Daussick. Very high power attorney from what I recently researched. He actually unfortunately passed away at 65 years old. But he did trademark stuff for Angelina Jolie. So I mean, this is not just, you know, some run of the mill attorney. Like we just paid a couple hundred bucks to have him send a scare letter like, this is a high powered guy. And the letter, unfortunately, I don't have the copy of that letter. I never had an electronic copy of that letter. It was only sent via FedEx. But I do have my responses that I sent via email. September 5, 2012. I say I am responding to your letter of last week and respecting and requesting a copy of the acting services services agreement I signed. I am not familiar with this agreement and I would like to see that so I can respond to you. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Lindsay Campbell. From what I remember in the letter that was sent to me was essentially a demand. Like either you are participating in in this because you have already filmed for this pilot, or you are going to owe $40,000 towards the cost of production for this pilot because you're now no longer participating at that time. And I want people to understand I'm 23 or I think still, yeah, I was still 22 whenever I received this letter. At 22 years old, fresh out of school, Will and I had fortunately no college debt. Will's parents paid for him to go through school. I went on academic scholarship. We were building our first home. We were pregnant with our child. $40,000 at that time. I mean now, even now, but at 22 years old, that seems like I will never pay this back. And that was my mindset. I'm never going to be able to afford to pay this back. And now we're in a very bad situation because we are going to be in debt and bring our child into a world with $40,000 worth of debt.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
That was a heavy, a heavy burden to carry.
Lindsay Chrisley
So the next letter that I had sent to him was on September 20th. I'm going to assume, based off of what I said in the response, that he had sent me something else. I said, dear sir, I'm responding to your letter of last week regarding a contract with Maverick Television. I received a copy of the terms agreement. However, this was not addressed to me, nor is it an address that I would have received. Ma, I have never been over the terms or content of this letter, nor did I sign that agreement as the back page was left blank. I do not feel I had any binding contract with Maverick Television, nor have you provided me with such. Thank you so much for your help. Sincerely, Lindsay Campbell.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Was that the end of the communications?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah, that was pretty much the end of the communications because I knew I was either going to pay the $40,000, they were possibly going to sue me, or I was going to do the show.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So even though you, you didn't sign it and you had never gone over them, you still were in fear that you were going to have to owe them 40, 000 and decide to go back to the show. Do you remember what that conversation was like with your dad? Like, did it end up being okay?
Lindsay Chrisley
I don't remember what the conversation was like with my dad. Although the pilot aired as season one and season two, I was a very minimal cast member in season two.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So your dad was just okay with you not doing the wedding and having that storyline?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah, I mean, that had already aired. You know, it aired on the pilot, and so it just was what it was.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Sure.
Lindsay Chrisley
Like, that's what you said. That's what aired. That's not what happened. And just proceeded on. Again, I was a very minimal cast member of season two, and the reasons behind that was because production had put together a therapy session for me and my dad and we were to meet at this therapist office. This was neither of our therapists. Like, we had never met this person before. The session did not go well and he took off his mic, said it was his show, that it was not going to air, and that he would not film with me anymore. So from that point forward in season two, I don't know how many episodes that I appeared past that, but I don't Believe it was any.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So you did two seasons of Chrisley Knows Best?
Lindsay Chrisley
I did five seasons. I went back in season three.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So he says in season two he's not gonna film with you anymore, but you guys reconcile and you go back in season three? At some point.
Lindsay Chrisley
At some point.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. Yes. In 2016, the show renegotiations begin and you ask for payments for your son. At that point, Jackson is born. If you're gonna be on the show and he's gonna be on the show, naturally you're gonna ask for compensation. How did that go?
Lindsay Chrisley
I was told that he would not be compensated.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Why?
Lindsay Chrisley
If I wanted him compensated, then it would come out of what I was being compensated, which is kind of counterproductive. Right. Like my fee was my fee and his fee would be a separate fee. What I didn't understand was there was negotiations that were done for Chloe, but I wasn't allowed to negotiate for my child. So why is one, they're 45 days apart in age, why is one being paid? I have factual proof and evidence that my child was requested via email from production on schedule for set scenes, but he was not being compensated.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
What did that look like for your relationship with your dad? Did you continue to have one and sort of decide, okay, well, if I'm gonna be a part of the show, if I don't wanna pay the 40,000, I essentially have to have Job Jackson film and pay him out of my own money like you. That's sort of where your hands were tied.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I don't want to put words in your mouth, but that's what I'm getting.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah. It was like, this is what's going to be the income going into your house based off of what the kids are paid. And he's not being paid, but we need you to sign a release for him to appear and there is no compensation for that.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
It's up to you.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I'm just going to expand on that just a little bit. At this time that Jackson was filming. Up until this point, he was still in either a mother's morning out, like at the preschool. I tried to work with production on him not missing those days at the mother's morning out. Then once he moved to four year old preschool, gearing up for kindergarten, I kind of started putting my foot down at that point because I'm like, I don't need him missing, you know, the preschool.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Right.
Lindsay Chrisley
That actually has a curriculum at this point. I don't need him missing that because there is no benefit for him to do this. Like, you're paying me to do it, but he's not being paid. So I can't justify bringing him to Nashville to film when he needs to be in school. So at that point, I had gone to the production company myself and said, if you guys want me to continue to film, I'm not going to continue bringing Jackson. He has a schedule here. Will's at home, he can be with him at night. But you guys need to provide a nanny. That's the least that you can do, provide a nanny for me to be able to come and film. And the only way that I got that was because they knew they were going to be saving on first class flights for me not to bring Jackson. It would have all come out in the wash anyway. So they were either paying the nanny or they were paying for. For the travel for him to go to, not film.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. So that's how that ended up going. So. And this is all the show renegotiations are. 2016. You're arguing for payment for Jackson in this same year. You seen Robbie Hayes, who was a former. A former Bachelor contestant.
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct. So just to back up a little bit, the show had initially been filmed out of Georgia.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
When my sister decided that she was going to college in Nashville, my parents relocated and moved the show to Tennessee.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Got it. Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
I had to travel at that point. So I would fly to Nashville. Sometimes it would be like if I was requested for a day and then not until three days later, I would fly in and fly back home. Like, fly in, earliest flight out, fly back home. Great strain on the marriage, I bet. But I. I just want to note that that wasn't the only strain that was on my marriage. My dad did not have a good relationship with my husband. He did not accept him. And Will didn't have a good relationship with my dad, did not want a relationship with my dad and did not want anything to do with tv. Will wanted our life to be a simple life. He wanted to live middle class. He wanted to have his job, he wanted me to have a job, and he wanted to raise Jackson. The TV thing was something that he never wanted to be a part of. So not only did he not have relationships with my family because we were filming a family reality TV show. I was always with my family. So that drew a. A bigger wedge between Will and I than I could have ever imagined that it would have. And there was a significant amount of travel at that time for the show. And ultimately we decided that we were going to separate. Georgia does not recognize legal separation.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
However, Will and I had a legal agreement of separation.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
At that time I separate from Will and I start seeing Robbie Hayes roughly around September of 2016.

Podcast Host / Interviewer
In doing so, you and the person that you're dating go to a friend's house and hook up at some point.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah, so he had come in town for a weekend. We had plans to go to topgolf. We went out to the bars drinking. We were having ourselves a good time and ended up staying over. At that time one of my friends apartments with her and her boyfriend. I do think this is an important detail for me to share the whole reference to puppy cam. She had a dog that had seizures, and when she was at work, she had installed that puppy cam. So if something happened to the dog, that she could go home.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
That's why she had the puppy cam. Yes. Did we have sex at her place? Yes, we did. That's why I've always said, did I consent to that? No. Did I know that that camera was watching? Absolutely not. Could it. Could there be a potential that. There's one. Because the dog cam does exist and we did do that. Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So now we're going into January 2017. So not far off from this time that you had at your friend's house. And there being a puppy cam in late January, you're out at a football game with your friends is following you from place to place.
Lindsay Chrisley
So initially, me and a group of my friends had gone to a local hot spot in Atlanta to watch football.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
When we arrived, we never saw her there. Later, one of my friends pointed out, hey, that looks like her, but she was wearing sunglasses inside.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Were you guys not friends at this point?
Lindsay Chrisley
We were not in communication at this point.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Why?
Lindsay Chrisley
I had found out some information about her that did not sit very well with me. And I was just a friend that would go and hang out with her at her apartment, have a glass of wine, watch reality tv, get dinner, that kind of stuff. Like, we talked about hair products and we talked about makeup and clothes. Like, that was the basis of that friendship. When I found out that there was a whole other group of friends that she was hanging out with on the weekends that. That I wasn't hanging out with her, I found out that information, and I was like, well, I don't want. I don't align with that. Like, I don't do stuff like that. So I just need to cut off communication with this person. So I did.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And so it was a shock to you that you're going out and she's sort of in every single space that you're in?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah. In fact, because of the friendship, she would have known if I. If she saw me at one place and I left and I was going somewhere else, she would have known where that other place would be that I would go to.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And she was popping up there right after you or right before you?
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. During this time you're still filming Chrisley knows best.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Does she have a relationship with your family?
Lindsay Chrisley
No. Now, did she know of my family? Obviously, through Me? Yes, of course. Did she know about the previous estrangements? Yes. I had actually met through one of Will's best friends. We remained friends after her and that guy broke up. Will still remain friends with his friend and I remained friends with. And she was dating a completely other guy and we just had a friendship.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
At any point?
Sponsor / Advertisement Voice
Point.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Did she tell you that she saw you having relations with Robbie on her puppy cam?
Lindsay Chrisley
No.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So a puppy cam, a sex tape, anything like that would have never crossed your mind?
Lindsay Chrisley
Never.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
What does she say to you? What? What types of things is saying to you when she's basically following you from place to place?
Lindsay Chrisley
The first place she approached my friend group and said that she would like to talk to me privately. I was there to watch football and hang out with my friends. I was not there for that. I was not there to have a conversation with her and quite frankly didn't want to have a conversation with her. She would not stop. And so I went pulled aside with her and she was apologetic and she was like, I really just want to get our friendship back on track. And you know, there's a lot of things that you don't know and there's a lot of things that I could explain and whatever. And there's a lot of things that you've heard that are untrue about me. And I'm like, okay, you know, I'm just trying to get out of there at that point. I'm like, I want to go to another place. Like you're inside of a closed door place with sunglasses on. Like, this is getting a little too weird for me. I'm just gonna go to the next place with my friend group. We get over there, grab a drink, and next thing we know she's at that place.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So would you say it's safe to say that she was upset that your friendship ended and that you were potentially not going to be her friend again? Yes, she was upset. Okay. At what point did you learn that there was or could be a sex tape from House?
Lindsay Chrisley
It was after these not so casual run ins that she started blowing up my phone. One night I was actually at a friend's house. Same group of people were with me that had been out with me. Just a couple of additional people added. And she starts blowing up my phone. I'm not answering. And one of them was like, hey, just answer and put her on speaker so that you have a witness to whatever she's saying.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Fair.
Lindsay Chrisley
So I put her on speaker and that's where she starts threatening me. Like, if I am not going to be her friend. And if I don't agree to meet her on the next day, then she had that.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
She explicitly told you this?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah, she explicitly told me.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And there were witnesses?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so you're living probably shocked at this point, but time is going on. What did you do for the next, like, month or so? Like, you were just worried that this video could get out, or did you then keep her at arm's length because you were afraid of it getting out?
Lindsay Chrisley
It was kind of a keep at arm's length. While I was not willing to meet her, I also was in fear of, oh, what if she does have that? And what if she does find the mean to get it out there? This point? I have a child, you know, it's not just about protecting me. Also at this point, I have now reconciled with my husband. I think anybody would be fearful. Now. I did file an initial police report in the jurisdiction of where she lived. I had actually reached out to law enforcement to where I. That I had reached out to law enforcement in the county that I resided in. They directed me to her jurisdiction and said, file that report there.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so you file a report and in the middle of all of this.
Lindsay Chrisley
Actually filed it from my dad's closet. I was still filming for Chris Lee Knows Best. I had filed the report with the Brookhaven Police Department in Fulton county, and my dad was aware at that time when I filed.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so that is how Todd Chrisley finds out about the sex. The sex tape, yes. Did Chase find out about the sex tape at that point?
Lindsay Chrisley
I don't explicitly remember ever having a conversation with Chase about that. What I do know was my dad had direct knowledge that I had filed that police report and was actually encouraged and instructed to do so by him at that time.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Not too far after that, you learn that Kyle is subpoenaed and interviewed for what?
Lindsay Chrisley
So there was. And this is the earliest article that I was able to find the name Jody Fleischer, who was a reporter for Channel 2 Action News, local to Atlanta. To my knowledge, she was an investigative journalist that was covering this story. So the earliest report that I could Find was a WSB TV Channel 2 Action News, where it says, Channel 2 Investigates State Opens investigations after records show reality star dodged taxes. In here, it says that state documents show that investigators have subpoenaed Chrisley's eldest son, Kyle, who still lives in Georgia and is expensive estranged from his famous father. At this time, I was still on.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
The show, but Kyle is being subpoenaed and interviewed Yes.
Lindsay Chrisley
I was never subpoenaed from the state, ever. I was never subpoenaed from the federal government, ever.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Why would they subpoena Kyle?
Lindsay Chrisley
I don't know. I. I wish I could give you the answer to that. The only thing that I possibly can think was we were all still collectively on the show and Kyle wasn't. And it was well known that he was estranged. Maybe they went there because he was the only known estranged person.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, but because he was subpoenaed and interviewed, that is how you found out.
Lindsay Chrisley
No, I pulled this article. This is the first article that I could find with the earliest date of anything publicly coming out outside of the bankruptcy filing. Those are federal documents. Right. I found out watching TV with Will one night I had come back from filming and was watching TV and it flashes across the screen on Channel 2 Action News. This story about your parents. About my parents. So I actually contacted my dad and said, this is on the local news.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And what was his response?
Lindsay Chrisley
I don't think he had one.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So you go back to Nashville and you film.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Despite whatever your dad is going through and this being on the news, you guys still just go according to schedule for filming. So you're back in Nashville.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I had Jackson with me at that time.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.

Podcast Host / Interviewer
What happens when you're in Nashville filming?
Lindsay Chrisley
So, per my production schedule, I was filming from March 6 to March 10. However, there was a day off in between that.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
On that off day, the only people that were in the house, and it was early in the morning, was Jackson and I were in the kitchen. My dad was in the living room on a chair. I believe Julie had taken Chloe to school. And the housekeeper was in the house. And the doorbell rang. My dad went to the door. I see at the door there are roughly six to eight police officers. And they hand him an envelope. Jackson's still in the kitchen at this time. I start texting Will, and I'm like, something must be going on, because why would there be six to eight police at their house handing them an envelope?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Do you think that was the first time your dad found out about an official investigation?
Lindsay Chrisley
No.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
You think he knew already?
Lindsay Chrisley
I do.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so does your dad explain to you what the envelope was, what the cops were doing there? Did you ask questions?
Lindsay Chrisley
Never asked a question. Continued on my morning routine with Jackson. I had. I was unfortunately still being paid by paper check from production. So again, my off day, I go to the bank to deposit my check. That's where I run into my nanny and Julie at the bank. I did not know that they were going to bank of America.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so what happens at bank of America?
Lindsay Chrisley
I go in to deposit my check. I. It's raining outside. And I bring Jackson in with me. Nanny's there. I ask her if she can watch Jackson while I go and deposit my check. Julie's in a, like, side office. When I get finished depositing my check, I get Jackson from nanny. And then nanny goes into that little office that Julie was in. When I saw them there, I was not expecting to see them there. I didn't know that we were all going to the bank, but I specifically remember I had to deposit those checks. And I was going to J. Crew to return some stuff that my dad had purchased from Jack for Jackson. And I asked them, what are y' all doing here? And it was told to me that nanny was being added as a signer on the bank of America account, which.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
If you're looking at the grand scheme of things, is a little suspicious, in my opinion. When did you start speaking to Kyle again?
Lindsay Chrisley
So I did not know this because we were not in communication at all. Kyle was completely estranged from the family. He had gotten a job at ups, became, I Think he started in seasonal, you know, like stocking trucks and stuff. And then he got his own route, was driving a truck, and he was on my route where my house was.
Sponsor / Advertisement Voice
Was.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
But you. He never reached out to tell you, hey, you're on my route?
Lindsay Chrisley
Never.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So did you just happen to see him once? I opened the door and it was him.
Lindsay Chrisley
And it was him.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And what was that like?
Lindsay Chrisley
Heartbreaking. It's like we're all doing this show and we have our own lives and he's working for ups, which is a great job. Right. Make a very decent salary, but it's just kind of like a. Like it slaps you in the face. I open the door and he's standing there. And part of me was like, oh, God, is he in trouble? But no, he was just my UPS driver. And so we kind of started having small talk from there. And he was like, I live really close to you.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
You didn't even know he lived by you?
Lindsay Chrisley
No.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So at some point, while your brother is your UPS driver, are you only talking when he's delivering packages or are you now in communication with.
Lindsay Chrisley
No, we. We shared contact information at that time. It was a very surface type relationship, but in my mind, he's my biological brother. He's delivering my packages for ups. Had struggle with staying on the right life path. I'm like, okay, well, maybe, you know, he's doing a good thing. He has a wife. Like all of these things. In the meantime, all of this stuff, stuff is going on, this Channel 2 stuff. Kyle divulges to me that his now ex wife was the source of the story.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Not Kyle.
Lindsay Chrisley
Not Kyle.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So Kyle gets subpoenaed, Kyle gets interviewed. Action 2 News is reporting on this. Name's Kyle. But it wasn't Kyle that tipped her off. It was his wife. His ex wife? Yes, his wife.
Lindsay Chrisley
At the time, that is what he said.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Sponsor / Advertisement Voice
Yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Do we believe him?
Lindsay Chrisley
I do. Because later I find out that there was also communications from her to the bankruptcy trustee. I find out this information from Kyle I get in contact with. Because I know she's having these communications only vicariously through my brother. I wanted to get information from her.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Is your brother's wife at the time?
Lindsay Chrisley
At the time.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
I knew that she had information, so I wanted to get information from her. Because you've got to consider I'm still bringing my child to this place of work. Six or eight police show up at the front door. What's going on? Because no one's being forthcoming. And quite honestly, I. I don't necessarily blame my parents for not being forthcoming because that's their dealings and stuff. But when you're also filming a show with your family and that's other people's place of work, whether it's your home or not, that is our place of work and that's going on that is concerning.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I would agree.
Lindsay Chrisley
So I ask, do you have anybody's contact at the state so I can call and try to find out information? Because I'm scared to bring Jackson back there. Also, you have to consider Will didn't like us filming on the show at all.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Let him find out there was six to eight police officers showing up and let him find out that there's something going on. And you know that's going to put a further strain on your marriage that you just reconciled.
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct. So I felt like as the mother in this situation, I'm bringing my child to this environment. If my husband finds out that this is what he's being subjected to, all hell's going to break loose. So I get in contact with Josh Waits only for informational purposes only. Like, hey, I am now aware that the state of Georgia was the one who had supporting officers from Nashville. I, I don't know how that works, but maybe if it's like an out of state service, they need local law enforcement to assist. So I do think that's why there were all of the extra police officers and then him serving for the Department of Revenue. I just wanted to know, not the details of the situation, but like, is this going to continue or was this a one time thing? Because I need to know if it's safe for me to bring my child back into that environment. And at that point he told me, no, in my opinion as a parent, it is not. The situation is going to get far worse before it gets better.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So what do you do with this information?
Lindsay Chrisley
I do not bring Jackson back to Nashville at that time. I also personally feel like, because I reached out to the Department of Revenue and the individual that was heading it up at the Department of Revenue. Now this person had my cell number and had provided me information. He knew at this point that I was leaving the show through communications.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So you first decide you're going to not bring Jackson back, but then you also decide you're no longer going to participate.
Lindsay Chrisley
This officer is aware at that point that I am leaving the show. He had followed up a couple of times asking me about, you know, if I had made the decision, if I was going back or, you know, could understand why it would be so problematic as A parent. For your child to be in that situation, that's. You don't want your child to be in that situation. Even if it was, like, something that I did. Right. I'm not subjecting him to something that someone else did that has nothing to do with him. Right. He then sends me a text message saying that people within the Department of Revenue had put a punching bag in his office with my dad's face on it.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Why?
Lindsay Chrisley
I don't know.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
What were you supposed to do with that information?
Lindsay Chrisley
Well, I can tell you what I did do with that information and not immediately did. I do it because there were other things that transpired that we can get into in a second. But ultimately, I was the one that gave that information to my dad.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So you told your dad?
Lindsay Chrisley
I told him, yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Did you tell him the extent of what you knew?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Oh, you did. Okay. So we're still in March. All of this is transpiring in March. So at the end of March, there is an incident with Julie. By this time, you have already told Todd, your dad, everything that you know up until this point?
Lindsay Chrisley
No, No, I had not.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
You had not told him?
Lindsay Chrisley
No.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
He wasn't even aware that I knew what was going on because he had not been forthcoming. And it was kind of like a tricky situation. I wanted to protect myself and my son from being exposed to whatever that exposure could have potentially been, but also, in a weird way, give them their privacy to be able to deal with whatever they were dealing with, with the thoughts that eventually they would come to us and let us know what was going on.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Sure. And you could imagine that it was probably difficult and you didn't want to be the one to say, I know what you're going through kind of deal. So there's an incident with Julie. What was the incident? I've heard variations of the accounts. So is there anything that you want to say about that?
Lindsay Chrisley
That situation is just unfortunately, very disheartening. The incident that took place was a physical altercation. I do know that that was referenced in this Lifetime documentary. I will say that people who were referencing to this altercation did not give correct events that took place. Some of these people that were involved in referencing this altercation were not even present, but there was a physical altercation. However, for the purposes of this interview, outside of that, Julie has never done anything to me and has not gone out of her way to emotionally harm me or had reckless behavior. And so for that, I want to extend the courtesy to not reference any details regarding that event.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. Did you end up reporting this physical altercation anywhere?
Lindsay Chrisley
I did.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Who did you report it to?
Lindsay Chrisley
I reported that physical altercation to all three media America.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So there are records of this altercation and significant records. Okay. I just wanted to clarify that because I think that for everyone involved here and for the viewers, the listeners, the audience that have followed all of the Chrisley's, you yourself included, I think everybody's confused about why you left or what the incident was. And there's been various accounts of it. And so I think it's important to note that you want to keep it private, number one. But number two, there are records of what happened. So I think that's important to note.
Lindsay Chrisley
The production company did hire outside counsel. After I started putting the pressure on them doing something about it. I had decided to stay on the show and that was my job and that was my income. Now this altercation has taken place. I don't care if anybody gets in trouble or if they don't get in trouble. But that situation needed to be addressed because that is not a healthy work environment. People gave statements regarding that incident that were not even physically present for that incident.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
This incident that we're describing right now happened on March 29, 2017. But somewhere between March 29 and May 17, you go back to film.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes. So I don't necessarily recall that the date was March 29, but if that's what records indicate, then that is true. I do know that I went back to film just based off of this filming schedule that I have. Season 5, Thursday, March 30th. Schedule. I was requested for scenes on this day for a family bowling match at King's bowl in Brentwood, Tennessee. They did fly me there. I flew back right after that. They had people that were there on standby acting as security because of the event that had happened. I had to finish out this season.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
This episode actually did air as the season finale, but in the way that it was filmed. Wasn't filmed in chronological order, if that makes sense. So this was filmed on March 30th and they also put me on Julie's bowling team.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
One I would like to note for the listeners, it is very typical in reality TV production to film things out of or for them to. To film them in order, but air them out of order. So anyone listening, that is not uncommon. That's not something that is unique. Speak to Chrisley Knows Best or Lindsay's situation. That is something that happens regularly. Did you and Julie have any conversations between the incident and the time that you're put on her bowling team. And why would they put you on her bowling team?
Lindsay Chrisley
I don't want to necessarily say that that was malicious on production's part. I think that maybe this was already all pre planned ahead of that happening.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
And the matchups of the people who were bowling made sense to me had that event not happened.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay. Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
Like Julie and I's mothers chasing Savannah as siblings. My dad and Grayson, I believe, and my nanny and her sister. So, like, that did make sense. And I don't want it to come off as if they intended to do that to cause conflict. I think it was just already pre planned.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
That makes sense.
Lindsay Chrisley
I also had gone back to film. According to Records. Tuesday, April 4th. It appears from this schedule that we did a celebration for Julie being in remission from her cancer, her breast cancer diagnosis years ago. This happened at the March the Marsh House in Nashville, Tennessee. I was requested for that. We were all requested to wear pink wardrobe. I was specifically requested for this celebration scene that took place over a table in a private room because they wanted it to appear as if the entire family was there. They went around the table and production cued this for us all to say something to Julie. And when it got to me, I didn't say anything because you guys were.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Still not on speaking terms from.
Lindsay Chrisley
So you're saying that per the records, the incident took place on March 29th? That's what you're saying?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Yes.
Lindsay Chrisley
Okay. So this would have been April 4th.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So just a few days.
Lindsay Chrisley
So, yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
You're probably not going to reconcile after that, you know, that quickly.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I do regret that, honestly, you know, that's another regret. I was kind of. I don't want to say forced, because nobody can force you to do anything. Would there have been repercussions if I didn't go to this celebration from legal, from production? Probably. Should I have sat at the table and not said anything? No, I shouldn't have. I just sat there when it got my turn, I just sat there. In my opinion, at that time, and my emotional state at that time would be. If I said something, it's going to come across as fake to her because of what had transpired. So I felt like I was between a rock and a hard place. Like. Like, yes. I'm so glad that she's in remission. Like, my God. But you're putting me in a situation on reality TV to do all of this, knowing the events that took place days prior.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
And you're still emotionally charged, I would imagine.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah. And I don't want to be There. And I will say that there is video footage of these things that we can share when this episode airs. I think that that's very important to just see the emotional state of where I was. We had found a. A video from my facial expressions from the bowling scene. And it's like, clearly I was not mentally or emotionally there. I just had to be there.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Right. So the incident happens in March. You still have to film because contractual obligations, you don't officially report the incident with Julie until May.
Lindsay Chrisley
Why? So I was attempting to handle this situation privately.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
I had spoke to my private attorney. There were communications somewhat with my dad, specifically between me and him during the time that I was still filming.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
Again, we were wrapping up the season. That's why we had those pickup scenes. That's why we had season finale stuff that had to be filmed. I went back home to Atlanta. We were informed. I can't remember if they. And I don't know if your contracts ran like this or not, but they have options to pick up additional episodes. Yes, I believe that's what it was. And I was contacted from production, from producers that. That they were bringing me back for those additional episodes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
I had had very candid conversations with this producer and let her know. The only way for that to make sense for me to go back would be maybe in a therapeutic setting for those who were there that were a part of said altercation. We would film this therapeutic setting of us discussing this. But everyone needs to come to the table honest about the participation, and I would be willing to do so. And they needed to secure that certain things would not be cut out of that therapy session to make one party look like something that they didn't do.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So essentially, you want the full story being told. You want everyone to come to the table with honest recountings of. Of the. Of the incident. And you would be willing to film.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Is that not what happened?
Lindsay Chrisley
No. I was not having communications with my dad at that time, but it was told to me through production, the producer that I was communicating with about this, that they were going to go to the other side and see what they could do and see if they would be in agreement to do this. Initially, it was an agreement until it got closer to time to actually film it.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
They were in agreement?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah. And then when it got closer time to actually film it, then they pulled out and he refused to film with me.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Your dad?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Why your dad if the incident didn't involve him?
Lindsay Chrisley
He was there very present with that incident and is well aware that the Depiction of the incident that's being said from their side is untrue. So he. He was refusing to film with me. And you understand reality tv, if somebody else would have refused to film with me. At the end of the day, the buck for Chris Lee knows best, stops and starts with Todd. And that's just the reality of the situation. And that's okay. You know, at that time, I knew that was my income, and I'm gonna have to do something else, but. But I'm not going down easy. So this is what transpired, and I want accountability for what had transpired. And so mine and Will's attorney had contacted all three media and Maverick Television, which was the production, acting, production company.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so that's where the official report starts.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Or stops. Starts and stops. Around this time, your sister starts tweeting, quote, come after me. I really don't care. Come after my mama. You're over. Watch what you tell when your bed isn't clean. Hashtag, literally. To which your dad responds and says, especially since there's been more men in your bed than your husband, as I think he meant has then your met, then your husband has spent time there. Hashtag2bachelors, hashtag in laws, hashtag videos, hashtag photos, hashtag let's, let's do this. It was assumed that this was in reference to the puppy cam, which your. Which your father knew about back in, what, 2016. So a year prior, he knew about that. And I'm assuming the two bachelor comment and the another man in your bed is in reference to that. I remember these tweets happening in real time, and I remember the emotional aspect, the emotional state that you were in and how upsetting it was to basically feel like your whole family is ostracizing you. You're going through, you know, a separation with your husband and then reconciling. Like, all of those things are more than one person should ever go through, especially at one time.
Lindsay Chrisley
I do want it to be known because I think it's important for context purposes that my ex friend wanted to be on tv. She had tried to get on reality TV shows prior to. To this.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So this is sort of her way in. If she remained friends with you, maybe would increase her chances to be on tv.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes. And I. I do believe that that was an intent. She would regularly ask me to, like, share her photos on Instagram and stuff like that. So there was very much a desire, and I think there's room for everyone. Like, if that is your desire, girl, like, like, go for it. Do it. But go about it the right way. Like, don't try to do something to someone that ultimately I realize you were jealous of.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Right. And so with your dad having that information, he's essentially using this against you. You knew my pain, and you used it against me.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah. So this was not long. June 29th of 2017, your attorneys reached out.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
June 10th of 2017, not even two weeks later, Savannah is tweeting. Your dad is responding to said tweet. Tweets. July 12, 2017, an anonymous person reaches out to one of your agents regarding the puppy cam video.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah, so I actually had forgotten about this. Except whenever I was preparing for this, which is a little concerning, that I would forget, this person went by a name called Lauren Lindler.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Lauren Limpler?
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Is that their real name?
Lindsay Chrisley
Absolutely not. I've never known a Lauren Lumpler in my life.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay.
Lindsay Chrisley
And the email reads. Hi, a friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and it looks like Lindsay is with another TV celebrity. Can I book her on a press outlet? My friends have also said there is a puppy cam video out there. Is that on the Internet?
Podcast Host / Interviewer
But we don't know who this anonymous person is.
Lindsay Chrisley
No idea.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
What was the photo of?
Lindsay Chrisley
It was a photo of. So the day that. That we were out watching football, it looks or appears as if this photo was taken from across a bar.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so someone takes a picture of you with somebody, sends it to your agent, and then also tells them about a puppy cam video. Who other than you, Todd, would have had information about the puppy cam?
Lindsay Chrisley
No one.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Okay, so if it wasn't you, it was either Todd or who leaks this information?
Lindsay Chrisley
Well, this looks like a paparazzi photo.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Could it have been a cell phone photo?
Lindsay Chrisley
Absolutely. But I'm saying it clearly wasn't me because I didn't take that picture of myself. Like, it's not a selfie. You know what I mean? Like, it looks like somebody. Like, if you and I were out somewhere and someone saw us at a restaurant sitting in a booth, they might snap a photo and send it to somebody. Right. Like, that's what this photo appears as if it was like an onlooker did this. But I know from looking at the photo, that's what I looked like and what my hair was styled like on the day that we saw her at those two bars.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So two days later, Todd tweets, laughing my ass off.
Lindsay Chrisley
Don't leak what you are afraid to speak week. The struggle to be relevant is heartbreaking. I'm not even talking to you. Like, why are you, like, you have my phone number.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
Like what, a month later, after this photo is leaked, the news about the puppy cam has leaked. Your attorney is in contact with production to talk about the incident that occurred on set back in March of this year. So during the same time, you're provided witness names to corroborate your account, is that right? Did anyone also recount the same?
Lindsay Chrisley
To my knowledge, and what I was told through my attorney at the time was that everyone was under NDA with them.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So nobody could back up your story because they were under NDA.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yes, that's what I was told. No, I don't know for a fact if they actually were under NDA.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
So there's nothing you can do at this point. It is your word against everybody else's.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I, I understand the idea of wanting to protect the show. I get that that is also their livelihood, so I fully understand that. But a theme is if we go about things the right way, we never have to get to that. Because if this was actually addressed and we were actually all honest about it and said, hey, maybe I shouldn't have done this and it wouldn't have led you to do this. That's okay. Yeah, like, acknowledgement goes a long way.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
I think it's human nature to just want to feel heard. So even if other parties, you know, to this didn't agree, all they had to do was acknowledge your feelings. Hey, I hear you.
Lindsay Chrisley
I do want to say that the night that that incident took place, I know we talked about it a little bit ago, but I was asked by my dad to stay at their house and I said no. Production said no. They put me in a production van, took me to an undisclosed hotel location, would not give the other people that were involved in the situation. The location that I was at flew me back home. Why would production go through all of that if I did something they wouldn't.
Podcast Host / Interviewer
They're not going to spend those unexpected funds on something like that. If one, your story wasn't true and valid and two, if you were the one that had acted first.

This episode is notable for Lindsie’s detailed recounting of critical events and the emotional weight that has accompanied her journey. The conversation, which is part one of a two-part crossover (with part two airing on Coffee Convos), covers complex relationships, legal threats, the pressures of reality TV, estrangement, motherhood, and the struggle for agency over her own story.

“I completely took myself off of social media altogether for the past seven weeks because…people are telling me to kill myself because of what they said on the docu series.” (05:16)

“What I didn't understand was there was negotiations that were done for Chloe, but I wasn't allowed to negotiate for my child. So why is one being paid?” (36:29)

She details, with tangible evidence and emotional clarity, the fallout from reality TV participation, family estrangement, legal threats, and the constant challenges of protecting herself and her child.
