Good morning, girlies.
Beth
It's the Toast.
Claudia
It's Jackson Claude, and we're your host.
Beth
It's your favorite show.
Claudia
The best five things you need to know.
Beth
We'll start your day off Swirly. It's the Toast.
Claudia
They sound amazing.
Beth
Welcome back to the Toast and happy Tuesday.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Okay. Tuesday. I hope everybody's having a great week so far. A little slow.
Claudia
A little slow. Given that it's only Tuesday, it's kind of crazy. Yeah. Well, I feel like now, like, summer's really a swing.
Beth
Totally.
Claudia
Now that novelty has worn off.
Beth
Also, like, now that my birthday's over and it's like, kind of this, like, amazing day is behind us. Like. Yeah. We just settle into real life.
Claudia
Yeah. So that's what we're doing.
Beth
I fell down such a fail down such a FIA Rabbit hole. Like, there's obviously a community of women who care as much about this as I do, and it's actually way worse, really. So there's two things. The first is that this, you know, incident, which they say they didn't know about where they were, like, stealing money from, like, literally influencers. Like, if I give you an affiliate, they. Their bug, like, it was on iPhone only. So basically, this little period of time was only over the course of the 2025 holiday season, which is, like, the highest time for online shopping. But also it was then they cut it off in, like, January 2026, and that's when they pitch all those investors, those celebrity investors with those numbers. So, like, literally, that's also fraud to your sisters, like, shopping around fake numbers. Yeah. So, like, I wonder what Mindy Kaling, Alex Earl has to say about it, you know? Yeah, it's really crazy. And then also, like, of course Alex Hooper's involved. So basically, t. Thank you to this girl who recapped. I'm so sorry I forgot your name. But she did, like, a full. Like, she's like a real, like, tech founder, content creator, basically, this woman who was, like, the president of Honey. You know, Honey, the browser extension, which I love, also went through a little bit of a scandal where they were, like, stealing influencer affiliate links. Like, a bunch of influencers actually sued them. Like, a bunch of YouTubers. It's still an ongoing court case according to my TikTok recapper. But the woman who was the president of Honey at the time, she's now with Unwell. And she, like, introduced the burnouts, and, like, she was the reason why they had a podcast on. So, like, literally all roads lead back to Alex Hooper, but, like, they're saying it's very nefarious. She was there.
Claudia
They know that.
Beth
It was a big headline by the way, when that, when that Unwell executive was hired because she's like this big way. Her name is Joanna. I actually remember the, the headline about it. I'm like, oh, that's cool.
Claudia
Like, but how do they know? They introduced.
Beth
Oh, I think it was like mentioned in an article. Like it's not a secret.
Claudia
Like, okay.
Beth
Oh, I'm sorry. And she's also on the board of fia. Sorry, I forgot that. So she's on the board of fia. She's a new president. Well, she connected them, so there's like a lot going on over there. It's. It's very interesting so.
Claudia
Because when I was thinking about it, I was like, this is just like a blip on the radar.
Beth
No, actually what the girl in my recap video said, not only it's like it's such a big deal. It's actually a bigger scam than what Honey went through. And Honey's is still an active. Yeah, because actually a judge throughout the YouTuber's claims being.
Claudia
Listen, also, if I remember correctly with Honey, like they would find you codes. So they would find influencer codes. And actually.
Beth
Okay, so what the. What the lawsuit was is that like this YouTuber realized he was like, I'm sending people to an affiliate link and if those people have the Honey browser extension and then also click like yeah, sure, give me a code. The influencers affiliate gets wiped out. Honey is the last person to affiliate. And so the judge was like, listen, that sucks. But the user is actively making the choice to click on Honey. So you're just kind of getting screwed. So the YouTubers who had sued are now suing again for just like not for money but like for wrongful whatever.
Claudia
They should have split commission. Yeah, there should be something for everybody.
Beth
She was explaining my TikTok recap like whoever is the last tag on the link for affiliate, whether it's the influencer, whether it's Honey, whether it's fia. But fia, what they were doing was even worse because they were opening a second tab in the background and embedding it on your computer or your phone forever. Like it wasn't just this one purchase. It was like all future purchases on this website. So what my recapper was saying, like this is actually a worse scandal.
Claudia
Oh, okay. So it's not just a small cookie.
Beth
Plus the defrauding of the investors celebrity A listers. That's really crazy because they started their big Celebrity roundup. Like, right after they had these stellar numbers from the holiday season.
Claudia
Interesting that they stole them. Yeah, they stole their stellar numbers.
Beth
So we will keep you abreast as a leading new source on the fiascandle.
Claudia
Will be keeping her foot on the neck.
Beth
On the neck of female founders. As a female founder myself, I just expect more from my fellow female founders. There have been times where I have wanted to, like, buy podcast reviews or buy followers. Like, sorry, it's. It's a meritocracy out here. Like, if no one's using your. Which I've heard. Also, it's a terrible browser extension from people who use it in earnest. They were like, they were never getting me what I wanted. It's like they're showing you where you can get this H and M shirt, like, secondhand. It's like, well, I knew I could get this H and M shirt secondhand. Like, I wanted a new shirt.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
You know?
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
So just, like, it's functionality. I don't think it was, like, super helpful.
Claudia
Got it. But this energy isn't just reserved for female founders. It can just be, like, humans, you know?
Beth
Interesting point.
Claudia
You know what I mean? I feel like you're tough on the men too.
Beth
Of course I am. Of course I am. It's not even. I'm not. I don't have a preference on, like, men or female founders. Like, I'm tough on everyone. But, like, if you're gonna be, like, a Nepo billionaire, like, getting into the founder space, like, you are held to a higher standard.
Claudia
So it's for Nepo founders. Definitely Nepo female founders.
Beth
I'm obsessed with, like, Nepo flops. And I would consider Sophia Gates now to be a Nepo flopper.
Claudia
Still not her name.
Beth
To have all the.
Claudia
Still not her name.
Beth
Brooklyn Beckham. Oh, what's her name?
Claudia
Phoebe.
Beth
Phoebe. Yeah, whatever. To have all the power in the world, like, we're always, you know, getting on Haley Bieber. She's a billionaire.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Kim. Brooklyn Beckham. Say the same. Like, I love billionaire flop Nepos. Like, that's the best.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Like, you're so untalented. Like, all the resources in the world couldn't even help you. And there are people who, like, you know, grew up literally homeless and were able to do it. What does that say about you?
Claudia
No, and it's like, you don't even have to make money. You don't just. Don't lose money.
Beth
Don't steal money.
Claudia
Yeah. Like, you could just spend money. Oh, my God. What if we just spent Money.
Beth
That's a beautiful, beautiful take.
Claudia
Like, nobody said you had to make money.
Beth
No rest on your laurels.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Also, the streets are saying today is the day that Paige Laurence is getting married.
Claudia
Yes, that is what.
Beth
I don't think it's like, a secret.
Claudia
I don't think it's a secret either. Like, the girls are girling. Like, her friend posted. She gets married tomorrow.
Beth
And so like, a Tuesday.
Claudia
I talk about that. Yeah. I feel like when your page Lorenz, like, days of the week, it's irrelevant. Really your problem.
Beth
I totally agree. Except for, like, your guests.
Claudia
Yeah, but, like, who's not gonna go to her wedding that was invited. And I also imagine she's having a small wedding.
Beth
I also just, like, remember hearing, like, learning growing up.
Claudia
She's.
Beth
There's like a Jewish thing that you should never get married on a Tuesday.
Claudia
Oh, gosh, no.
Beth
Is there something in Jewish law that says you shouldn't get married on a Tuesday?
Claudia
On a y.
Beth
Well, in a while. Distinct memory.
Claudia
Or if she's getting married at the day, maybe she'll. She's safe, right?
Beth
Is it Arab?
Claudia
Is it Arab? Shlishly she.
Beth
Beth, I'm having the same issue that you're having with chat where Chad has, like, stuff. Oh, no. In fact, it's the opposite. There's no Jewish law that says you shouldn't get married on a Tuesday. Traditionally, Tuesday is considered an especially auspicious day for a wedding because in the creation book of Genesis, the phrase kitov, it was good appears twice on Tuesday. That's why it only appears once on other days.
Claudia
That's why she chose today.
Beth
This whole time. So obviously I was. I was remembering something. I was just remembering it wrong completely. Maybe. My teacher said they say you should get married on Tuesdays, not shouldn't.
Claudia
Yeah, maybe she was talking fast and you heard shouldn't.
Beth
Is Paige Lorenz converting to Judaism?
Claudia
It's definitely like having a small, charming wedding.
Beth
Like, literally, Carolyn Bassett.
Claudia
The vibes, like, write themselves, you know, 100. And that's so nice when you're so set in your vibes that, like, you don't have to wonder, what will the vibe be?
Beth
So true. I do feel vibless, Like, I like certain vibes, but it's not like someone would see, like, a living room be like, that room is so Claudia.
Claudia
You know what I mean?
Beth
Unless there was like, a podcast studio in the living room.
Claudia
Like, okay, that's a vibe.
Beth
I am like, sir. And, you know, I feel like it's because I don't own a Home. You know what I mean?
Claudia
Like, your home is your vibe, and that's where you cultivate your vibe. Just renting and you learn about your vibe. I think even Paige would have would say that too. Like, she really learned about her vibe when she made the move from the big city and like, bought a house.
Beth
Does anyone else feel vibeless? Like, I. I like certain things. I don't like certain things.
Claudia
But we were doing this with Chad. GBT with you, I guess.
Beth
Oh, yeah. I told Chad. I'm like, maybe. Maybe Chad told me.
Claudia
Looking for vibes with Chad.
Beth
Yeah. And now I realize, like, the issue is, is because I don't like, I'm not settled.
Claudia
You think it's cuz you're not settled.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
And that you'll have vibes when you're settled.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
I think that makes sense.
Beth
Yeah. Who needs a vibe when you're not settled?
Claudia
I. I feel like I know my vibe.
Beth
Because you own a home.
Claudia
Yeah, I guess so. And that's where I've cultivated a lot. Even though I've started. Like, I've always had a vibe, you know?
Beth
Of course. But home is where your vibe comes to life.
Claudia
Yeah. And it comes to life in the home space. You know, like, there's fashion vibes.
Beth
This convo's giving job your love.
Claudia
I feel like we're making complete sense.
Beth
Oh. If you've been listening, you get it.
Claudia
Like, you feel vibeless. I know what you mean.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
And Paige Laurens is vibe full 100%.
Beth
And her wedding will be full of that vibe.
Claudia
It will be. So I can just imagine what it will look like. I'm very excited for her. Mazel tov. And Tommy did go to Wimbledon.
Beth
Oh.
Claudia
And they scheduled the wedding so that if he won Wimbledon, he could still get married.
Beth
Right.
Claudia
So just fact check on that.
Beth
Good. We love holding each other accountable.
Claudia
But he obviously didn't want to win Wimbledon. He wanted to get home and prepare
Beth
for the wedding as a good husband should.
Claudia
1000%. So you never. You don't want to be with the guy who wins Wimbledon. You just don't.
Beth
No, no. You want to be with the guy,
Claudia
like, who plays wins every year. No.
Beth
But in the mix, those, like Wimbledon winners, like, don't make good husbands.
Claudia
Those number ones you don't want to be married to. Number one.
Beth
Number three.
Claudia
Number three.
Beth
Number one is always looking out for eight.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Number one, like, can't fully commit to you because when you're like, the goat at something like that doesn't lend itself to being like, a supportive Partner and,
Claudia
like, firing in all cylinders. Yeah. Fire in one cylinder.
Beth
But you want, like, number. Yeah, I would say, like, I wouldn't go below 8, but, like, I wouldn't go above 3.
Claudia
I feel like 12 feels good too.
Beth
12. Yeah.
Claudia
Yeah. 12 is good.
Beth
12 to 3, because I think actually 3 is like, a little high 25.
Claudia
Yeah. And 3's always driving. And 3 has a complex about.
Beth
He's in the mix. 3 can get to the finals.
Claudia
12 is having fun.
Beth
8 doesn't really get to the final. Finals, you know, maybe semi.
Claudia
Yeah. But, like, okay, so you got that weekend's freed up.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Once in a while you do make the finals, and it's, like, so exciting.
Beth
Yeah. Just like, everyone should be aiming lower.
Claudia
Yeah, I agree. So it's good he didn't win.
Beth
Yeah. Today's show, because it's Tuesday, we have deer toasters, lots of girls ready. And, you know, today we're sort of. We're sort of taking on, I think, tackling an issue that's really hurting millions of Americans. And it's AI. Yeah. Like, we have. We had a budget. I only chose one.
Claudia
Like, what sense?
Beth
Like, AI generated porn? Yeah. Like, deep fakes, things like that. Like, I think, like, a lot of men who were already, like, borderline AI has just given them, like, really access to sort of, like, dark parts of the web.
Claudia
I didn't know that was happening.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Okay. Anyone who's, like, on the fence, I guess I'll wait to see, like, what the issues are.
Beth
But as always, I tried to, you know, choose a wide range, light, dark, AI, mother in law, you know.
Claudia
Well, we're back on schedule. Oh, did you do anything productive with your night off?
Beth
No, I laid in bed. Me and Ben, like, we talked. We were just like. We were talking the whole time, like, how amazing it was that, like, we were not watching Love island and we just, like, we're watching funny videos. Like, it was just like. It was one of the most amazing nights I've had in a while.
Claudia
That's great. I did something crazy. I started a book. No, I'm already reading a book.
Beth
You started? I started a show. Oh, which one?
Claudia
Guess. What show? Guess. Out of everything that's like, come out, what do you think that I would start Gilded Age? No.
Beth
Okay. Of everything that's come out. Like it's a new show.
Claudia
Yeah, it's a new show.
Beth
L. Yeah, it's good.
Claudia
So I'm in the middle of the pilot, and then, like, Harry burst in need to see my bedside, turn TV off, and I'm gonna give it grace because it's the pilot, and I feel like they were trying to prove a point. They were trying to show how she is. L were so many references to the movie that it was actually, like, overkill. And it was definitely, like, a little corny. And it was hard because, like, Elle is not without fault. You know, like, Elle is with fault,
Beth
and in the movie, she's actually without fault.
Claudia
She's without fault.
Beth
She's a perfect character. Like, you're saying you hated Elle.
Claudia
I didn't hate her, but, like, I wasn't rooting. I'm like, you're wrong in that situation. You shouldn't just go up to, like, the senior girls and try and sit and have lunch with them. Like, they don't want to sit and have lunch with you.
Beth
Calm down. That's crazy.
Claudia
On her first day of school and she's a junior and she's like, where do the cool seniors sit? Like, girl, are you so shallow?
Beth
Check yourself.
Claudia
Elle's always had a heart of gold. She would never.
Beth
That's true. And also, I had seen clips, like, surfacing that really cemented for me that I wasn't gonna watch it, because I don't know if you've gotten there yet, but there is a love interest in the show, and it's like he's this, like, sort of troubled youth. He's like, a skater. Did you meet him?
Claudia
Skater who crashed into her mom's car and has a locker next to hers
Beth
because he's, like, really goth looking.
Claudia
But then she also crashed into a boy, like, in the gymnasium, and I think, like, he seems really sweet.
Beth
Yeah, I think that, like, did she have two? Yeah. And I think she's, like, torn between the guy she actually likes, which is, like, the skater who's, like, the opposite of elves, like, aesthetic.
Claudia
Got it. And he was like, definitely. So commie. The show.
Beth
Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, he was coming in. Your girls were like, seattle, right? She moves to Seattle.
Claudia
Literally. Said they were like, we don't like people from California. And she was like. And I was sitting there, and the senior girls, like, you guys don't care about stuff that we care about, like the environment, like, the climate and social justice.
Beth
Okay. That's what she said to Seattle, right?
Claudia
That's what she said.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Now Elle has to become a communist in order to fit in, and I'm not interested. But I'm also not loving her capitalist vibe. It's like, it's not a good look for capitalists either. Yeah.
Beth
Maybe the true lies Somewhere in the middle. But I agree.
Claudia
And then when she runs into that guy who I guess it was going to be her crush, and like, he's handing out flyers because he said the support staff's getting paid. Like, like, not support staff. I don't know. They said support staff. I imagine that school people that work at the school are getting paid, not a living wage.
Beth
Well, that's wrong. That's like, why is this talking about the juniors? Talking about it? Yeah, like, not them politicizing. L. Like, come on.
Claudia
No, it was just like, it was so trying to shove in this agenda. The commies versus the capitalists. And it's like, I don't want to watch that.
Beth
It sounds very heavy handed too.
Claudia
So heavy handed. And why'd it have to be Seattle? And even, like, the vibes of Seattle are so heavy handed. Everyone's wearing the same color. It's like very gray. Like gray and blue. But like, it's. It's almost like a caricature of Seattle too.
Beth
Right.
Claudia
Everyone is like, miserable and ugly.
Beth
They're offended. And like, if I'm from Seattle, I'm offended.
Claudia
Seattle has pretty people too. Oh.
Beth
I just want to say I know a lot of people from Seattle and they're not like, pink hair.
Claudia
People from Seattle could wear pink 1000%. So I think it's offensive.
Beth
Yeah. Right. Communists are offended. Capitalists are offended. Californians are offended. Seattle see, Italians.
Claudia
Yeah. And I just feel like they're just.
Beth
Just.
Claudia
They're making their bones off. Like, Elle is the one who's gonna have to break. And it's like she's with. She's perfect.
Beth
Yeah. You know, I wasn't. I haven't even really seen a lot about it.
Claudia
I think the casting. I think the girl is perfection. Oh, yeah. Even the way when her parents tell her they're moving to Seattle, she starts crying and she cries like Elle in the movie. Like, there's so many little mannerisms she does that are. Hark back to Elle. Like, nailed it with her.
Beth
Well, that's good.
Claudia
Nailed it. She's a joy to watch. But like, why are you wearing high heels on the first day of school in junior year?
Beth
It's. It's a good impression.
Claudia
Raining. And you're wearing a dress like, and I guess you're gonna slip.
Beth
Oh, so you stand with the commies.
Claudia
No, I'm just like, it's. It's ridiculous. Yeah, it's ridiculous. You could have worn a pink rain boot.
Beth
Well, you haven't really made me want to watch the show. No.
Claudia
I mean, and it's only the pilot. And again, they definitely had to prove how it's going to be like, you know, Legally Blonde. Like, for real.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
And I can imagine as the season goes on, like, it has more heart, but right now it's just like, it's silly.
Beth
Okay.
Claudia
But I will continue to try to watch if I have the time.
Beth
I didn't even turn my TV on. Like, I'm just truly traumatized and loving life on the outside.
Claudia
Yeah, same. We do have Love island stories that cast out of the house. They've got their phones.
Beth
This is where it gets fun, actually.
Claudia
Yeah, I agree. Like, I'm like sat for what they're saying.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia

Claudia
T U R T. You're welcome. Our first story. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's mystery dog makes his big debut in Florida. I guess his or her we don't really know much about.
Beth
Never assume the gender.
Claudia
But this dog has gone viral since the wedding. There was a photo of Taylor and Travis and, like, a big, fluffy white dog, which is crazy for the Swifties.
Beth
And I think, like, og, like, hardcore fans had seen the dog, like, once before. I mean, like, whose dog is that? Maybe it's like Andrea Swift has dogs. Like, people didn't assume that Taylor had gotten a dog. And, like, I know if you're not a real Taylor Swift fan, you're like, okay, who cares? But it's actually a really big deal.
Claudia
She's a huge cat person.
Beth
Like, her personality has been cat.
Claudia
She.
Beth
Cats are famous.
Claudia
I mean, she's. You could still be a cat person and have a dog, but, like, to also get a dog with a partner is a huge step. Yeah.
Beth
I also feel like this is really emblematic of, like, how Travis has made an impact on her life. Like, you make space for your partner, and not everyone is a cat person. I'm famously not. And I do feel like that will get in the way of my eventual friendship with Taylor because, like, she can never invite me over. Like, I literally wouldn't go. Like, I. I'm petrified of cats. So obviously that's something I think about. But not to make this about me,
Claudia
you guys could get dinner at a restaurant.
Beth
Yeah, of course. No, she come to my house.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
But I can never go to her house.
Claudia
Yeah. Well, unless, like, she's traveling without them.
Beth
Yeah. And, like, I'm sure they have their own handlers and such. Well, cats are, like, really independent.
Claudia
Yeah. They won't bother you.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Not like a dog would.
Beth
Well, I just feel like the fact that they got a dog, obviously, as a couple, when you get a dog, obviously, it's like, the first step before you have a baby. So, like, it's a huge deal. Like, we can look into that. But also, like, I feel like it's just compromise, you know, Travis. Like, this was totally Travis's thing. It's, like, big dog, too. It's very beautiful. I feel like it's a small window into their marriage.
Claudia
Yeah. So Travis was spotted with the dog he shares with his wife, Taylor.
Beth
Well, he's in Palm Beach.
Claudia
While arriving in palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend. Well, we know they spend a lot of time in Florida, and when they're there, he's actually training. So, I mean, it's training season, but,
Beth
like, is Taylor gonna be in Florida?
Claudia
Probably.
Beth
That's crazy.
Claudia
She'll probably meet him there whenever she's done doing what she's doing.
Beth
And what is she doing, you think?
Claudia
I don't know. Maybe some girl time.
Beth
Maybe, like, some work. Even though I've been thinking a lot about t. Loas, and I feel like it was, like, the first time ever that, like, Taylor didn't release an album on her own time. Like, she just releases albums, like, when. When they come to her, when they're complete. And I feel like there was so much hype around her and Travis, and you want to take advantage of, like, momentum like that. And it was the first album that I feel like was really incomplete and, like, not her best work, and it was also felt kind of rushed, and so take your time. I. I want to work on your schedule, and I don't want you working on ours. Yeah, there's, like, a big demand for, like, we want the Travis songs, and it's like, she was so famous at the time, and the era tour just ended and was like, what is she gonna do next? I feel like she rushed it a little bit.
Claudia
Well, I guess not even because of Travis songs, but just because if she was doing a showgirl album, like, the show is ending, right?
Beth
So you gotta, like, y.
Claudia
But it. It wasn't a showgirl album, and I
Beth
don't think that that vibe was necessarily even the right one, so that's what I mean. I just felt like it was the first time, like, where I kind of missed the mark in. In a bunch of different ways, and it was because, like, it wasn't the right time.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Take more time.
Claudia
Yeah. It was, like, a short album, which. I don't mind a short album. Not every album needs to be 40 songs.
Beth
No. Certain artists, like, I do need your songs to be 40 songs, like, and Taylor is one of them, so.
Claudia
But what it was billed as is
Beth
not what it was.
Claudia
I was ready for. And it was the right time for, like, showgirl anthem, bop season, Shell Bog and Max Martin.
Beth
Oh, Shell Bog. Right. Of course.
Claudia
You know what I mean? Like, 12 blank spaces, as Travis said,
Beth
which it could not be further from. Like, I do blame Travis a little bit for that.
Claudia
We don't need 40 blanks. Like, of course we need 40 blank spaces, but nobody can do that. Like, 12 bops. Like, showgirl ratata vibes. And we got the life of a showgirl, the song. But beyond that, like, it was just a hodgepodge.
Beth
It was such a hodgepodge. So hopefully she's ready music. If not whatever comes to you. I feel like the best. I feel like her best works, like folklore that were so, like, it was just like, seriously a stream of conscious and, like, no rush. She was, like, not needing because it was Covid. It was just, like, what she wanted to do. And I feel like she's at a place now where she can be more selective. So you know what? I will listen to the archives. You've left us with so much material. Take your time.
Claudia
Yeah, yeah. Are you ready for our next story?
Beth
Oh, wait. Just back to the dog. Like, what do we think the dog's name is?
Claudia
Bruno. No, like, what's like, Shy San Bryce.
Beth
She's. Oh, I wonder if she'll deviate because her two cats are named after famous women in media.
Claudia
So the characters.
Beth
It's Olivia Benson.
Claudia
Is the dog male or female? I'll zoom in.
Beth
Oh, wow. Okay. I guess. Yeah, we could just figure it out like that.
Claudia
I'm not really seeing a pecker, but so let's say.
Beth
And I feel like Taylor. Maybe we'll keep it consistent with, like,
Claudia
her, but I feel like it should be a dog. I see a tushy.
Beth
Well, that's just sort of like a general.
Claudia
I feel like it's a girl dog. I mean, a boy dog.
Beth
I would. I would say it's a girl. What shows does Taylor watch? I feel like Taylor does watch A Gilded Age. Not that you would name someone like Mrs. Aster, but she does name her pets after, like, fiction.
Claudia
They all are.
Beth
Yes. Actually, Benjamin is the third cat that she adopted from the music video. Is he Benjamin Button or is he just Benjamin?
Claudia
Benjamin.
Beth
I forgot about that third rogue cat.
Claudia
Who have the other cats?
Beth
Olivia Benson and Meredith from Grey's Anatomy. I don't know. Like, I think. I don't know the last name. What else does. What do we know? Taylor to watch Game of Thrones.
Claudia
Yeah, it's Jon Snow.
Beth
All right. This dog is John is such a Stark.
Claudia
This dog is Jon Snow.
Beth
That's a great call. See, I'm so glad we figured that out like that. Like, that's definitely the name. I think the dog was actually in Game of Thrones, like. Yeah. As an extra.
Claudia
As a direwolf.
Beth
Yeah, Right, right, right. Yeah.
Claudia
It looks like a die.
Beth
And Travis definitely loves Game of Thrones.
Claudia
Yeah. And that's something that they have in common, like.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Given the fact that there's not everything that they have in common.
Beth
Right. No, they definitely don't share a lot of, like, similar interests in TV shows.
Claudia
I don't think Travis watches the Gilded Age.
Beth
I could see him, like, getting into it because of her.
Claudia
Yeah. Yeah. Okay, our next story. Love Island USA's Trinity is breaking her silence after winning the show, and she's responding to some of the backlash. So the cast members have their phones back. They're seeing everything that's going on.
Beth
So jarring.
Claudia
It must be. And Trinity put out a statement that I'm actually very surprised by and very impressed by.
Beth
Yeah. And all the islanders shared it. Like, not the islanders, like, the core final four. So they all re shared Trinity statement.
Claudia
So Trinity, who is the most popular person from the season, is using her platform for good. And this is like, what you hope someone will do. And I remember last season at the reunion, like, they were mad at, like, Huda or whatever because her fans were like, attack so nasty. Alandria and Shelley. And like you always say, can't you tell them to stop or whatever. And Trinity, first minute out of the villa, puts out a statement saying, coming up, coming out the villa, I want to say I'm very blessed and appreciative of the love and support everyone has given me. With that being said, I want to say the hate and ignorant comments some of you guys are doing regarding Zach is absolutely not okay and needs to stop. It's very disheartening. And we are people just like everyone else. We genuinely have love for each other inside and out of the villain. He's one of the most amazing people I've met, so please have some empathy.
Beth
So, yeah, it's actually hilarious and really speaks to the deep unwell nature of the Love island voting block that, like, the person getting death threats hate. So much so that the cast members need to speak out about is Zach.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
But, like, his worst crime was just being, like, snarky and annoying. Not. He did was treated Keda very well. Like, and there's A legitimate evil con man in the villa who's skating by. Did you see his mom's live?
Claudia
I didn't see it, but I heard
Beth
about people are, like, really understanding, like, why Sincere is the way that he is because he has, like, a crazy mom who was, like, saying really mean things about Ariana and, like, the other island and just, like, being, like, obviously, like, my baby, my baby, my baby. And think about your baby's legit evil. So it's hilarious that, like, Zach is the one who is the focal point of everyone's, like, mad, like, everyone's hate when there's, like, an actual person worth hating just sitting there. I don't even think Melanie, like, I know there was, like, a lot of brands being like, melanie will give you free flights for life if you, like, leave Sincere, but I don't think that, like, people are. I know they voted for Melanie and Sincere because they wanted the core four in. In the final four, but, like, I don't even think, like, Sincere maybe even
Claudia
really knows from what I understand, like, reading tweets and stuff. People voted for Melanie and Sincere because they love Melanie.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
And she'll come out of the villain. See, no, we weren't rooting for you and Sincere. We were rooting for you.
Beth
Like, it's not Melanie island. It's Love Island. We're voting for couples, and there's, like, a terrible couple, but it's, like, the
Claudia
way that Amaya won even though. Who's Brian?
Beth
Exactly. Exactly.
Claudia
They voted for Melanie even though he hates Sincere.
Beth
It's a popularity contest, and it's never about the couples. It's always about the people individually. And that's, like, so frustrating. It's the total opposite of the show.
Claudia
Yeah. Yeah. Otherwise, Molly, man, it's nice that everybody
Beth
has Zach's back and probably speaks to, like, what we didn't see because he is, like, annoying.
Claudia
It's so nice to come out of the villa, use all of your popularity. Everybody loves you, and first thing that you have to do is defend your friend. Like, most people wouldn't do that. I think this speaks so highly of Trinity and, like, such, like, a leader mentality because everyone was so popular, everyone reposted it and, like, I don't know. I just. She could have said in a couple days. She could have never said. It's not her job to defend Jackson. Like, she. Most people would never say anything, but, like, for it to be the second sentence in her statement of thanks, I think is really gracious.
Beth
I agree. It's a really good look for Trinity. I also think, like, the people, like, listen to Trinity, like, a lot of. Yeah, I could tell my fans to stop, but they won't.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Like, I actually think that they will.
Claudia
Yeah. And why don't you try telling your fans to stop and see what happens?
Beth
Correct.
Claudia
Selena.
Beth
Selena, what do you. What have you just tried?
Claudia
Huda, Olivia, Rodrigo, Sabrina.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
She could have.
Claudia
Yeah. So crazy.
Beth
Yeah. So this. She's setting a great example. Like, this is. This is being a good example for women.
Claudia
Yeah. Also some not news, but, like, people are speculating that Kenzie will go on Dancing with the Stars. And I just want to put that out there that she 100% should.
Beth
Absolutely.
Claudia
And it would really only be this season because, like, this is her. Like, this is this season of Love island year.
Beth
Like, and the full cast hasn't been announced yet. Right.
Claudia
Like, we know that there's, like, Sierra Mora. Bananas.
Beth
Right, right, right. Oh, wait. That's such a great idea.
Claudia
Yeah. I hope that she gets it. I just like putting that out there for her.
Beth
Yes. She is on call her daddy. Did it come out?
Claudia
No.
Beth
Okay. It's like a long lead time.
Claudia
It comes out on Wednesdays. Right.
Beth
I guess. Yeah.
Claudia
Also, like, I feel like since coming out of the villa, like, she's having a good, you know, first few days, reception has been positive, which I'm so happy for her. And I feel like Dylan's now, like, bought in again to his relationship.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
He's, like, making content, like, supporting her going on college. I. Shut up.
Beth
And no, I agree. Like, if you didn't like her at her worst and now you, of course, love her at her best. Yeah, I agree. He doesn't give me, like, the best.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
When he was also, like, my God, like, how many times does sincere have to apologize? It's like, are you serious? You literally made the Kenzie apologize a thousand times. You would not let her go. And what she did was, like, literally not a big deal compared to the actual evil person. But since he said that, I've been really off of him.
Claudia
He's like, oh, my God, that was crazy that he said that.
Beth
What are they gonna, like, let it go with Sincere. I'm like, are you serious? You, like, talk about beating a dead horse.
Claudia
You wouldn't let it go with Kenzie
Beth
and she didn't do anything wrong.
Claudia
Kenzie operated in earnest.
Beth
Correct. Like, I think that's been. Once she's left the villa, people, even people who had a problem with her, like, she's just a really sweet girl and I think that's coming through. So people are like, they're letting up on her.
Claudia
Yeah. Which I'm. I'm happy to see.
Beth
Me, too. Yes. Kenzie on Dancing with the Stars.
Claudia
Yeah. Because if it doesn't happen this year, it's never gonna happen. So just, like, sort of manifest that for her. I. I would like that for her.
Beth
Yeah. Even though, like, Love island has not been, like, pool of people that the Dancing with the Stars people pluck from. This is the first time. That's because she was on Traders.
Claudia
Like, but it's also, like, Peacock and ABC and.
Beth
Yeah, but. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Claudia
But I think that she should. I mean, like, Sierra's gonna be on, and she's after Sun. Right.
Beth
Right. No, I would love. That's a great, great choice. I'd be really happy for her because I do think she also got screwed.
Claudia
She did. And she didn't get to do her.
Beth
Her.
Claudia
What's that one? Heart rate challenge. This would be so much.
Beth
So much better than that. Totally. Oh, my God. I saw the craziest thing. Do you know Joe? Grocery store Joe? Did you see this? So, you know, him and his wife, like, posted their sponsored pronovo scans. Like, you know, you do the full body scans, and everybody's, like, posting. And he posted a video. He was like, I never posted my results because they found, like, a lesion in my brain, and it's like, the size of a blueberry. And he has to get surgery next week to, like, remove that. It could be a tumor. They don't know what it is, but it has to be removed. Is that crazy? I know. And then once I saw that, then I saw, like, all the old content, like him and Serena, like, posting at their prenova. Like, you just never think those things are going to go that way.
Claudia
Wow.
Beth
I know. Really sad.
Claudia
Oh, my goodness. Yeah. I hope it's nothing. Next story. Some crazy news in the podcast world. Comedians Tom Segura and.
Beth
Oh, my God.
Claudia
Christina P. Christina P. Yes. Split after 18 years of marriage. So Tom Segura from Two Bears One Cave podcast and yo mama's house. Your mama's house.
Beth
With his wife.
Claudia
With his wife, Christina P. Who's a
Beth
comedian who has an amazing comedy special on Netflix. She does, like, a lot of mom content. I.
Claudia
They have been married for 18 years. They have how many kids? Four. Two. Two kids. And now they're splitting.
Beth
Shock. It takes so much to shock me, like, for so many reasons. One, like, they're so embedded in work together. Like, what does this mean for your mama's house. Like, two. Like, you've been married for 18 years. Why are you getting divorced? Like, at that point, like, seriously stay together.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
And I think their kids are kind of young.
Claudia
They are.
Beth
Even though they've been married for a while, I feel like they're like toddlers.
Claudia
Not toddlers, but, like 10. Like under 10. Really?
Beth
Yeah, the way she talks.
Claudia
Born in 2016. So a 10 year old in 2018.
Beth
Eight year old. Okay. I'm just shocked by this.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Like, I don't want to speculate, but,
Claudia
like, when you like, to me, this is more shocking than like, bunny and jelly.
Beth
A thousand.
Claudia
But it's not getting that treatment.
Beth
Well. Because they're like, just a little bit more niche.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
But I'm. I'm shocked because also, like, like, he hosts with Bear, Bert Bear, and they're always are talking about, like, marriages. It's very much like a female kind of toast show. Like, where they just talk about, like,
Claudia
they preface by banter.
Beth
Yeah. Yeah. And when I watch the clips, I'm like, always shocked at how derogatory Bert is about his wife. I'm like, I. If that's me. Like, he talks about her just like, gross. I'm like, that's disgusting. And I always noticed how Tom, like, never does that. I always felt like if either of them were gonna get divorced, it was never gonna be Tom.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
I'm shocked. And I don't even listen to their podcast, but I think that they're like their bears or whatever they call their fans. Like, they flipping. It's a really big deal.
Claudia
It is a really big deal, and it's sad.
Beth
I need to know what happened. Like, not to be nosy, but, like, what time did, like, what happened?
Claudia
I do feel like something had to happen because, like, everything is just very aligned and there's 18 years of alignment. Their business.
Beth
Like, they have a podcast network. Like, they work together a lot.
Claudia
Yeah. I wonder if they'll be able to work together still.
Beth
They might be one of those couples. Oh, God, please don't become like, Jana Kramer and that guy who are like, screaming at each other on the podcast. Like, but, like, if you're one of
Claudia
those couples that, like, like, no hard feelings, we're going our separate ways. We couldn't still work together. So much respect for you. And then you also have two kids and there's every reason in the world to stay together. Stay together. So I just don't feel like it's that.
Beth
No, I'm. I'm shook by this news.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Your Lip your lipstick.
Claudia
Yeah, I noticed on yesterday's episode I wasn't wearing any lipstick. So now I'm gonna be reapplying every five minutes because like in the clips I just.
Beth
Nothing will make you look more terminally ill than not wearing lipstick.
Claudia
I don't know, I need like a lipstick that. That's just easier to put on, I guess, like that I could just keep reapplying because that was not a good look for me. Good. Really?
Beth
Not my color.
Claudia
It's everybody's color.
Beth
You think?
Claudia
Yeah, it's like a nice pink.
Beth
One thing about Jackie, she's gonna buy a buxom lip product.
Claudia
Oh, I am.
Beth
You're single handedly keeping them in business. I don't own a single buck buxom.
Claudia
I don't even know how much because they send me a lot for free. So like they're losing money. I do buy it anytime I'm at like a. Anywhere they sell it because they don't sell it everywhere. So when they sell it, I buy it.
Beth
Random niche brand is it?
Claudia
It's my favorite brand.
Beth
They only sell it at Seph at the front. Like no.
Claudia
And not even every Sephora. Like my local Sephora doesn't sell it. I have to go to.
Beth
I only see it at the cashier where they sell all those like little like chapsticks and stuff.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
So yeah. News that shocked me. This like very surprising.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
I need to know what happened.
Claudia
Yeah, same. Well, they both do a lot of content. So like between the specials and the podcasts. And the podcast, like.
Beth
Yeah. Jackie read his book.
Claudia
I did read his book. It was really good.
Beth
He had like a book of short stories.
Claudia
It was so good. I tried to make you read it.
Beth
It. I started it and it wasn't bad at all. Like I was enjoying it, but you know, sometimes things happen.
Claudia
Yeah. Life gets in the way. I would totally recommend it. Like a comedian short story book. Like Tom Segura. Check it out. So anyways, also say they do a lot of content. I feel like the truth will slip out.
Beth
Yeah. Yeah. Hopefully it's not like an animus animosity. Hopefully there's no animosity. That's a good way to just round about.
Claudia
Are you ready for our fourth story? Which is just like some weird crazy news, but Jax Taylor has been spotted cozying up, you guys.
Beth
The Bravo universe is shook the up by this.
Claudia
Okay, let me tell you what it is that they're shook up by. Jax Taylor was spotted cozying up to his and Britney's longtime Publicist in steamy vacation Snap. So if you're like a Bravo reality TV follower, the name Lori K. Pr KPR means something to you a thousand percent. She reps everyone, the bachelor people.
Beth
She's also just like a young hot thing. So, like, she's always in pictures with people. You're like, oh, who's that? It's a publicist.
Claudia
She's always there.
Beth
Yeah. And she was. She's always published a lot of high profile clients. She represented Britney and Jax together, like, through a lot. So I feel like I don't know who her other clients are at this
Claudia
moment, but I remember she was a publicist for like, Dylan Barber and Hannah
Beth
G. Dylan Barber yelled at Margot over this week.
Claudia
What?
Beth
Did she tell you that?
Claudia
No.
Beth
Yeah. Margaret went to Surf Lodge and she got yelled at by Dylan Barber.
Claudia
Tell me, start from the beginning.
Beth
Literally, I walked into her room. I'm like, how was your night? She's like, I got yelled at by Dylan Barber. She said he apologized like hours later. But, like, you know, Surf Lodge is very tight. The table next to Margo, like, was Dylan Barber's with Hannah.
Claudia
I saw they were in the Hamptons this weekend for setting.
Beth
And there was somebody at that table.
Claudia
Joe and Serena were there.
Beth
There was somebody at that table that Margo wanted to say hi to. And so Margaret went over.
Claudia
She's like, chit chat. I don't know who.
Beth
I don't know. She didn't mention it, so it like, wasn't important. Chit chatting and like, trying to leave, like, make her way away back to her table. It's like, very tight. And he literally comes over and he's like, you need to move. Excuse me. She said that he was like basically being Olivia Ashrae. Like, you know, of course we used
Claudia
to go clubbing and someone is someone
Beth
approaching on my perimeter. Olivia actually, like, was our security guard. And it's like, well, Olivia can do that. Like a man yelling at a woman. Yikes. And Margot was like, are you serious? And she just, like, left. And then later, like hours later, they were at a different place. And of course, Margot's table ended up being right next to him again. And Margot was like, that guy, like, yelled at me and he came over
Claudia
and somebody say it to me. She, like, told someone. And then he learned of his behavior.
Beth
Yeah, I think it was like, Tinks, Tinks and her crew. And Tinks's crew was like, let's get him to apologize. And he did.
Claudia
Oh, yeah.
Beth
So Dylan Barber yelled at Margo.
Claudia
That's so crazy. Because if you're like, the known person at the table, don't do the dirty work.
Beth
Yeah. I wouldn't say he's like that known.
Claudia
No, but he is. We're talking about him.
Beth
Yeah. Yeah. Because we used to watch A Bachelor.
Claudia
We're talking about him. And so, like, if. If your name would be known, like, let your friend from home do it, you know?
Beth
Thousand percent. And he came over and he was just like, I'm so overwhelmed. Like, everybody was like, I don't understand. Like, he had, like, his reasons, but, like, I don't know, like, yelling at a random girl is, like, such a
Claudia
bad look, and she wasn't random.
Beth
Well, I think maybe he put it together and, like, that's why he apologized. Because, like, her sisters are gonna. Her two big sisters are gonna talk about it on their podcast. Bring that up. Thank you so much.
Claudia
Oh, my God.
Beth
Did you not tell you that?
Claudia
No, she didn't. And that's, like, really a bummer for me because, like, I like them as a couple.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
And I don't want to stop, you know? Yeah.
Beth
I mean, I don't have, like, it's not. This doesn't affect my life whatsoever. Like, I.
Claudia
It won't affect my life. I'm gonna keep going, but, like, obviously
Beth
just something to keep in the back.
Claudia
Dylan Barber yelled at your sister.
Beth
Dylan Barber yelled at your sister.
Claudia
Well, Lori K at one point did rep them. She might still.
Beth
Yeah, I remember she wrapped my favorites. Balakale, right?
Claudia
Got married.
Beth
Yeah, I know. They have babies.
Claudia
Well, they have. Yeah. But they got married. They just got married.
Beth
Blake Quartzman.
Claudia
We're talking about Blake Quartzman and Giannina. Gia Belli from the first the Best Season of Love is True.
Beth
So she's just like, kind of a high profile reality star publicist. I feel like we've interfaced with her a couple of times, like when Jax has been on the podcast. So they were spotted, like, on vacation, right?
Claudia
Yeah. The TMZ obtained a video of them having a very animated conversation while sitting poolside. They're in the pool together, you know, wrapped up in each other.
Beth
And there's this Twitter account that, like, comes across. People think that, like, Jax runs it. It's called justice for Jack Stiller. And anytime, like, there's Jacks related news. Hold on. I have to find it because they tweeted this morning. Okay, ready? They tweeted this morning. You're gonna crack up. Hold on.
Claudia
I'm looking forward to cracking.
Beth
No, no, you are. Okay, ready? Fantastic. If true. They were responding to the TMZ tweet. Fantastic if true. At Mr. Jacks, Taylor amended, man is coupled with a wonderful woman that's known him personally and professionally for years. Lori is tough, grounded, and a cheerleader for the man's success. Join me in championing this potential couple. A plus.
Claudia
I just want to say, like, they make him. They. They do make a good.
Beth
There's more. Two drop dead gorgeous people find after endless years of getting to know each other. No secrets, no skeletons, just pure vulnerability and understanding. This is magnificent. This I can get behind. This made my summer. Cheers to Mr. Jax Taylor.
Claudia
They make a good case. I'm not saying, like, I agree with them, but they're painting, like, a very beautiful image.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
Of, like, this person. Crazy things, seen him at his worst.
Beth
They took a picture of Jackson. They wrote this. The face of a man who has looked adversity in the eyes and said, you will not win. This man took lick after lick from Bravo fans, from his cast friends, and guess what? What? Mr. Jacks is thriving mentally and physically. Soon a man will be back where we want him on the silver screen.
Claudia
Oh, wow.
Beth
And the person's bio is, he's paid the price. Treat him fairly.
Claudia
This is really crazy. So I guess, like, Britney had also, like, heard rumors about them, like, years ago and ignored them. Not saying that they've been, like, together for years, but obviously, like, there's been something, like, between them that now they're able to act on.
Beth
Yeah, I don't think there's anything nefarious. And she kind of looks like Britney. I just want to say I don't think that there was overlap. And technically there's, like, nothing wrong with this.
Claudia
No, but, like, as a pub, I guess she, like, likes Jax more than she cares about, like, her reputation, career. Because as a publicist, this is a bad look. Like, not only, like, is Jax one of, like, the most hated people and. And partners, you know, like, specifically, like, how he treated. Like, you could have him on your TV show because he's, like, funny and, like, villains and whatever, but, like, as a partner, like, everybody hates him. Yeah. But also, like, he's a client of yours. So, like, you're blurring this line. She's a client of yours too. It's just, like, looks very, very. It's a huge messy. And she's risking it all for love of Jax.
Beth
Yeah. So maybe it's true love.
Claudia
Yeah, well, it better be.
Beth
Like, the Bravo universe was not okay by this. It is so out of left field, and it's very shocking. It's really crazy.
Claudia
Yeah. Especially because, like, she's seen him at his absolute worst. Like, that she would find all of that attractive.
Beth
The thing is, I'm shocked that they're still working together. I don't know if they're currently working together, but like, back in the day when we used to do a lot of Bravo, like we, we. I feel like her name came up a lot and she was like representing a lot of like, the fact that they're still working together as publicist and client is really a testament to perhaps their cudiction.
Claudia
Or like, she's just a really good publicist.
Beth
Yeah. This is crazy.
Claudia
Yeah. Our fifth and final story. Are you ready?

Thank you.
Beth
You're welcome.
Claudia
Our fifth and final story. Ariana Grande alters her thank you Next lyrics at her New York City tour stop after being spotted with her ex Ricky. So we're just talking about the Ricky lyric now. I listen and laugh.
Beth
Never mind, he's trash.
Claudia
Except she just performed at Barclays and she changed that lyric again to wrote some songs about Ricky. We always find our way back. I really feel like she's like baiting everyone. She's so not dating Ricky.
Beth
I like so don't care. Actually, she probably is dating Ricky. Like she just has the worst track record. I feel like if I'm a guy, like I actually don't want Ariana Grande to date me because I feel like that means I'm awful. Like she only dates the worst guys. Like, I just, I really can't. I feel so torn about her actually. Like whenever I think about like really what she's been through, I'm like, give her grace. But like, I'm sorry, I think she's just like so crazy and she's such a bad role model. Like she really is. But it's like I would be too if I've been through half the that she'd been through, you know? I don't know.
Claudia
Know. Yeah, I feel like she's just using this guy because she doesn't want to be alone. And, like, sure, she definitely has a little bit of, like, hooking up right now or whatever, but they're not getting back together in any meaningful way. He's just, like, a stop on the way to the next. Whoever the next person is will be like a. You know, I don't think she really goes backwards, like, in terms of, like, taking exes back.
Beth
I feel like she did get back with Big Sean a couple of times. Did she?
Claudia
I don't have that recollection.
Beth
Maybe not. Maybe not.
Claudia
Not.
Beth
He, like, broke up with her and then found the actual love of his life and never broke up and they're together forever, like.
Claudia
Yeah. So I just feel like she's using Ricky and he's happy to be used. Like, great, I get to hang out with Ari. Yeah.
Beth
I mean, that's exciting for him.
Claudia
Yeah. It's always fun, you know, big pop star and she's, like, probably trying to, like, just, like, show her, like, you know, have a moment because she can't say, listen and laugh to, like, Ricky songs because she was just with me. So that's, like, weird.
Beth
I just, like, you hang out with
Claudia
someone, you laugh at that.
Beth
I can't report on Ariana Grande. Like, I'm so. I'm not able to be completely unbiased. And I also don't really know how I feel because, like, part of me, like. Like I said, like, I think she's a bad role model. I just, like, really don't have love for her. But then also, like, when you think about all she's been through, it's like, how can you even say one crossword about her? Honestly, I think that you can. I don't know, like, Manchester, Mac Miller. Like, I don't know, actually. Like, I. I don't like choosing stories about her. Honestly.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
And then, of course, like, the whole anorexia thing, it's like, are we saying it? Are we not saying? I'm personally saying it. What?
Claudia
Lily James.
Beth
That's not her name. Lily J. I'm like Lily James from Cinderella.
Claudia
Lily J.
Beth
Of course. Of course. No. And obviously Ricky's not the one for her because he's not married and he doesn't have, like, anything to lose, so, like, that's obviously not of interest to her. So we'll just say I just. I actually can't talk about it.
Claudia
He's donuts guy.
Beth
And you know what? She shouldn't date him just because it brings back donuts into the conversation.
Claudia
And also, like, why? Why does she want to be thought of as. As dating Ricky again, like, that was
Beth
such a bad time.
Claudia
It was a bad time. But it's also, like, not a good look for her to, like, not be alone for two seconds. Yeah. After, like, a serious relationship that you broke up a family for.
Beth
Insane.
Claudia
So, like, she should want us to think she's single, not, like, messing around with Ricky.
Beth
I'm no therapist, but she obviously has, like, some sort of, like, fear of being alone.
Claudia
Yeah, she just. Fine. Like, you don't have to be alone if you don't want to. And she certainly, like, doesn't want. She can pay people to be around her, but, like, let us think that you're. That you're, like, you know, healing.
Beth
Don't sing a song about it.
Claudia
And, like. And bait, like, oh, yeah, missed my new man. Like, that's not a good look for you.
Beth
It's not. Cuz, like, don't bring up your dating
Claudia
life today and then it turns out to be the old man who you hated America with and you licked donuts with. And, like, we're. We're celebrating America 250. Like, we don't want to hear how you hate America.
Beth
We're celebrating America 250. Like, the whole donor donut saga doesn't align with the current vibe, so you
Claudia
shouldn't go back to that saga because it's coming up.
Beth
We're talking about it.
Claudia
It is. She should stay away from him and certainly, like, stay away from a lot
Beth
of people if she wants.
Claudia
Hang out with him. Like, do it in private and don't sing about him.
Beth
Yeah.
Claudia
My advice.
Beth
That was also a bad look for Bowen Yang. He was, like, her spokesperson, like, telling him it's the timeline. Like, what you guys think is not real. And then, like, Lily J, like, wrote an article with the timeline. It's like, okay, so what are you talking about?
Claudia
Yeah, but, like, like, you know what? I'm fine with people blindly defending their friends. I guess I hope someone would do that for me.
Beth
Right.
Claudia
But I wouldn't put you in that position.
Beth
Break up a family.
Claudia
Right.
Beth
I will have your back.
Claudia
I won't put you in that position. But, like, I'm fine with, like, not holding your friends accountable. Like, that's. Sometimes you should, but, like, sometimes you shouldn't.
Beth
Okay.
Claudia
Sometimes just support them.
Beth
Wow. Okay. Well, that's actually a great segue into Dear Toasters, which is our weekly advice segment. If you ever want to write in, email us dear toasters gmail.com or head over to our website, the toast podcast.com scroll down. There's little submission box. Both methods, totally anonymous. All right, are you ready? This one's honey. Hey, Swirlies. I need to tell you if I should be offended or not. I need you to tell me if I should be offended or not. I work very closely with one of my co workers. We've been best friends for many years. I received to save the date to her wedding last year. While the wedding is coming up and I'm realizing I was not actually invited. The other co workers were. Do I say something? Is it common to send a save the date and not an invitation? There has been some. Some tension and weirdness very recently. I'm unsure if I should say something or ignore it and let it go to preserve our working relationship. But this is super rude, right? Sincerely, a confused and kind of offended toaster.
Claudia
So it's weird. It's offensive. However, I don't think you should say something because this is the workplace. Yeah.
Beth
And I think a lot of people these days, like, get their work friendship confused, conflated with real friendships. Like, sometimes you meet your best friend for life at work, but a lot of times, like, people are taking their work friendships a little too far. And in a situation like this, like, she's made it clear. You said there's weirdness. Like she invited you to save the date and then she didn't invite you to the wedding. Like, she doesn't like you anymore. And so, yeah, you could, like, make it weird in the workplace or just like continue.
Claudia
Just like work friendships don't need to be mended. Yeah, you know, like agree. How about you just forward me that email and we'll keep it moving.
Beth
How do you just circle back by eod?
Claudia
Yeah, like send the memo.
Beth
Have you ever given it gotten to save the date and not invited to the wedding? I have once.
Claudia
It does sound familiar, but yeah, I
Beth
think we both did.
Claudia
Oh, interesting. That's not what I was thinking.
Beth
Yeah, what were you thinking?
Claudia
I don't know, I just. It sounds familiar.
Beth
Yeah, no, it happened to me once and to be honest, like, normalize changing your mind, like, I didn't really care, but you know me, I notoriously hate weddings.
Claudia
Yeah, but this is a work friend. If this was your friend from high school and you felt like things were weird and you thought you should be invited to wedding. Of course. Like, you know, try and have a conversation about. About the relationship, not even about the invitation because, like, this is like she's got a lot on her plate and like, it's like a hundred dollars per person. So like, yeah, sorry, you're not, like,
Beth
you're not worth $100.
Claudia
Like, work friendships don't need to be mended. You know, like, I'll see you at the all coexist.
Beth
You need to get that bumper sticker. Like, we're all just coexisting.
Claudia
I'll see you at the all hands. And I'm clocking out at 5:00'.
Beth
Clock.
Claudia
Like, bye.
Beth
Yeah, I think it's really messy to have like work best, best, best friends
Claudia
and certainly not like conversations about your work friendship.
Beth
Yeah. So just, you're good. You almost said she saved you because you almost got in too deep with a coworker worker.
Claudia
Now, you know, knowledge is power. That like that's it.
Beth
She said what she said. All right, next up.
Claudia
Hey, swirlies.
Beth
My husband and I are coming up on our first wedding anniversary and have thought about booking a boudoir photo shoot and surprising him with some steamy fit pictures. I was looking at the photographer's website and checking out her portfolio when I came across a spicy photo of my mother in law. Now, while I'm not judging her by any means, I'm concerned because I find it extremely hard to believe that she would have consented to those photos being positive public. Not only does she see, does it seem extremely out of character for her, but I also think she'd be mortified if she knew I just stumbled across those. But also, she's gone through a major weight loss transformation since those photos, which just makes it even harder to believe that she knows these are public. My question is, do I bring it up to her to make sure she's aware that they are public? Or do I just act like I never saw those photos and move on with my life? Sincerely, a toaster who's just trying to do the right thing.
Claudia
Like, what are you doing? What are you doing? How do you find yourself in this situation?
Beth
I feel like she didn't do anything wrong.
Claudia
Like she was just finding herself in this situation.
Beth
It's kind of a crazy coincidence, I'll say that. But I guess maybe it's a small town and there's only like one or two boudoir photos.
Claudia
And it's like, you know, they say you marry your mother.
Beth
Yeah. Well, the thing is, you know, I saw this. People were talking about this on TikTok the other day. Like how, you know, when they go to the hair salon, they're like person's always taking pictures of them and it's like, you know, you're in a hair salon, you never Feel uglier than when you do with that thing wrapped around your neck and you're looking in the mirror and it's like some people are like, well, this person needs social media to do their job and they like, you know, be a friend. But also like, am I getting a discount for my services? So I think like the whole conversation about like vendors needing. And I get it, like you need social media content in this day and age, like promote your business, especially if it's like beauty or whatever. But like, yeah, where is the discount? Like there's an exchange.
Claudia
So true.
Beth
It's a conversation people are having and it's really interesting. I think, I think it happens a lot with like lash text. It's like, well, I'm coming to my appointment looking like a mole rat and like you wanting to photograph. Like, I don't know about that. Especially like there's an incentive for you. But what about for me?
Claudia
Yeah, and I'm paying for the appointment.
Beth
Maybe your mother in law got a discount and if she didn't like, I'm sorry, boudoir.
Claudia
No, no, no. I think, I don't think she got a disc. Like, I think that's a separate thing that you're saying and it just like speaks to a larger issue. But no, I think that like when you hire a photographer, like unless you specify, like, I do not want my photo shared, which most people don't because they just don't think about it, they might share your photos.
Beth
I don't know. I think that if you're somebody who photographs like newborn babies and you do something sensitive like a boudoir, it's not. Yes, most photographers, I'm doing your engagement party where it's an assumption that I'll put you on my website, you'll be on my Instagram at least unless explicitly said otherwise. But boudoir is a very sensitive and
Claudia
like it isn't a contract that you probably signed and didn't look at.
Beth
But the question here is like, should she tell her mother?
Claudia
Right?
Beth
I don't know.
Claudia
Not directly. And then also it's like directly, it's like if you tell her, then she's thinking about you. No, no. And she knew. And it's like, well, why'd you think
Beth
that I didn't want to tell me. She definitely doesn't know and she definitely should know know.
Claudia
I feel it's just like it's.
Beth
You know what? It's a perfect anonymous letter. No, how do we tell her? She deserves to know. She definitely doesn't know.
Claudia
Like I guess it also depends what your relationship is because maybe you just like sit her down the next time you're sitting down and be like, by the way. Or you could be like, come at it, like, so oblivious. Did you like working with this photographer? I'm thinking about doing a couple photos and I saw you on her website. Website.
Beth
That's good. Not saying it's good or bad that you're on your website, but letting her know, just dropping the information.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
But then you have to admit that you're doing a boudoir photo shoot for her son.
Claudia
But like, seriously, do any other photos?
Beth
Like, I feel like it's a really niche.
Claudia
Okay, so you're doing a boudoir photoshop.
Beth
That's amazing advice.
Claudia
Yeah. Like you could even text her the link. Be like, do you like working with this photographer? I mean that's really crazy. But if you guys are like semi close in a good spot, like that's a. Like if I saw you were using a service, I literally did. Yeah, yeah. I said, went to look for a makeup artist. I saw you on her page and I sent it to you and I said, did you like her?
Beth
And I said, yes, I did.
Claudia
And then I use them and I like them.
Beth
Yeah, right, Britney. Right?
Claudia
The. Yeah, Florida. No, no, the hair and makeup in Dallas.
Beth
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like that's a great.
Claudia
That's like a normal way of going about it.
Beth
It's very normal. Send the link.
Claudia
Yeah.
Beth
Via text. Next.
Claudia
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Beth
That's so good. I realized I didn't choose any of the AI porn ones. I obviously was like not in the mood. So sorry for teasing. This one's like a little bit of sourdough drama.
Claudia
Oh, I love sourdough.
Beth
Hey, swirlies. I learned how to make sourdough a few years back while I was on maternity leave and I've been hooked ever since. It's really helped me form an identity outside of my own, outside of being a mom.
Claudia
It feels like she's found a vibe.
Beth
I started selling to my local neighborhood via HOA Facebook group. I've actually had great success. It's not my full time job or anything, but it's how I paid for my kids Christmas and Hanukkah. I love teaching people how to make sourdough. So when my neighbor asked, I of course said, get. Yes. She's also one of my good friends and all of our kids are in the same class together. We've spent the last couple of holidays together. I gave her some of my starter, which I've Titled Do Pumin. I spent hours answering her questions. I even created a PDF with photos on how to feed it and how to make it her and how to make her first loaf. Days after she made her first loaf. First loaf, I got a text from some of my customers with a screenshot of her posting on our HOA Facebook group, selling her bread and giving me credit for teaching her. Clearly the neighbors were a little confused too. I didn't realize I needed half a mile non compete before giving her some of my team dopamine. I'm super proud of the little business I built and I've worked hard to gain these customers over the years. I just know things will be weird now between us. Am I being dramatic? Please help.
Claudia
You're not being dramatic. Like, that is weird.
Beth
And also like, her giving you credit, like, is very duplicitous. Because you're not giving credit, you're letting everyone know it's the same bread. Like you like this bread, come get it for a dollar less. Like, yeah, it's very.
Claudia
But if she didn't give you credit, that would also be weird that she's just like stealing your business idea and she took your start.
Beth
But it's like trained by Sally, you know.
Claudia
Yeah. But I will say what, like, she's definitely not making as good of bread as you because it takes like time to like hone your skills and like, you know, get your.
Beth
It's crazy to just learn how to make sourdough and then start selling immediately. Like you have to be making it for years.
Claudia
Seriously. Ew.
Beth
I feel like you're in a place where you could start selling now, but I don't know if I would have said that.
Claudia
Like, no, of course I wouldn't want to sell. I wouldn't like think that I have something selling. So like the cream rises. Stay the course. It's also like very hard, laborious, time consuming and she'll give up. She will give up.
Beth
Yeah. It's also, you need to come to sourdough earnestly. And if you're coming with the intention only to sell it, that's not a pure place.
Claudia
Not at all.
Beth
That will reflect in your bread.
Claudia
There's no love in your loaves. It will taste like greed.
Beth
And also, what is the ethics on
Claudia
like taking someone's starter and then selling.
Beth
Selling it.
Claudia
Like, I think if you took someone's starter and like you started a micro business, but like it has to. It's not like you just take someone starter and then the next day you start a business like it has to happen organically. It has to. No, no, but, but like, that's just weird. And also it takes time for you to like, learn your skills as a sourdough maker. So if it happens organically, like, say Olivia, like, she has my starter and she like, in a, like at some point started like a micro bakery. That's what they're called.
Beth
I guess that wouldn't be weird, but that's, that's also your sister different.
Claudia
Okay. Anyone that I gave my starter to, if they like, were making bread for a while, like, love making it, have time running the side hustle.
Beth
It's the time.
Claudia
Yeah, but you can't just like, take it and then start selling one because,
Beth
like, bread's going to suck. Seriously, you should encourage us that people get her loves, hate them, and never buy from her again. Yeah, I wouldn't be worried.
Claudia
You have doing what you're doing. Keep doing what you're doing.
Beth
That sounds so cute and so fun.
Claudia
Like, yeah, it's so great to have like a side hustle. Earn some extra cash for all of
Beth
her kids Christmas gifts with it.
Claudia
Like, I love seeing like, when people find like, creative, amazing ways to like, earn extra cash. Like, I feel like I see so many like, Etsy sellers of people just doing like the smartest things. Like, have you seen these people who make. Make like you send them your baby, like your babies, one of their pajamas from when they were a baby.
Beth
Let me get a quilt.
Claudia
No, that's like. Yeah, that's another great thing. You send them pajamas from when they were a baby and you send the birth weight and they fill the pajamas with like pebbles to, to get the same weight and then they put like, you know, it's like a bear, like a stuffed animal. And then you have like your baby, their weight and like in their jamas.
Beth
That's really cute.
Claudia
That's so smart.
Beth
I saw. Have you seen the people who make like rings out of breast milk?
Claudia
I have seen breast milk jewelry.
Beth
Yeah. Where it's like they put like, they basically like dehydrate your breast milk. It becomes powder and then they like put it in like a little glass pearl or whatever and put the pearl on a ring. You, like, shake your breast milk around.
Claudia
It's so like, people get so creative.
Beth
Yes. I think a lot of it is like women who are like stay at home moms who like just have a passion, they're like, artistic and they end up like, creating a lot of revenue for their family. Yeah, I love that.
Claudia
I love it too. I'm always so impressed. Yeah. Etsy.
Beth
I've been talking about Etsy a lot.
Claudia
Yeah,
Beth
it's amazing. So many people are so creative. That's what you learn, like on the Voice. Like so many people have good voices, you know?
Claudia
Yeah. No, I was shopping on Etsy last night. Oh for like a ceiling medallion for a chandelier classic. And there was beautiful things like homemade. Homemade wares.
Beth
Love that. Well, thanks everybody who wrote into Dear Toasters, dtq, I see you and we will see you tomorrow. Right?
Claudia
Yeah. Like that's what we hopefully anything else.
Beth
Hopefully in our new chairs.
Claudia
Hopefully in our new chairs that we're looking at.
Beth
At. They just need to be assembled.
Claudia
So that's like every style, every home.
Beth
