Claudia
Good morning, girlies.
Jackson Claude
It's the Toast. It's Jackson Claude and we're your host. It's your favorite show. The Fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off Swirly. It's the Toast.
Claudia
I sound amazing. Welcome back to the Toast. Happy Mondays. Welcome back to the Patreon. We've missed you a brand new week. Jackson Claude on the ones and twos.
Jackie
If you're watching again, we've moved yet again.
Claudia
We are gonna keep moving every week until we find the partiest location to podcast in our house just in time.
Jackie
For us to leave.
Claudia
I do feel like this is it today.
Jackie
Jackie's bedroom. We are setting up in a new corner. We're using new microphones. It's a journey that everyone's just honestly, you should be honored to bear witness to. Like, what's going on here is a work in progress. It's trial and error. Hopefully you love it. Hopefully you don't hate it.
Claudia
Constantly striving for perfection. I do hope that you guys are just like happy to see our such beautiful faces.
Jackie
And my God, do we have a lot to talk about. Of course. We broke the Internet two days ago with McLardia, which we are so going to get into. It's such a juicy story. Like you guys aren't ready.
Claudia
We're not ready. I'm not ready because I wasn't even there.
Jackie
Yeah. And you and I actually haven't really debriefed it in person because I got home from the carnival late like, and.
Claudia
Like Harry was sick and it was just like a drama filled evening. But I need to hear the story. I have so many follow up questions on behalf of myself and the viewers.
Jackie
You know, and I'm happy to answer any and all questions. We of course have pop culture to talk about. We asked the community on last week's episode what they wanted to see from us from the remainder of Patreon. And I thought it was going to be overwhelming. Like, vlogs. Like, enough, we want vlogs.
Claudia
You know what they said? They said, keep doing what you're doing. You're so perfect.
Jackie
They said, shut up and sing.
Claudia
They said, we love exactly what you're doing. We wouldn't change a hair on your head.
Jackie
Yeah, I checked today and it's like I can never like get a full read on what people want because I checked today just like see what people had said. And everyone was saying vlogs. Like in the beginning everybody was saying pop culture.
Claudia
No, Claudia, they said you're perfect.
Jackie
They said, you're gorgeous and skinny. Don't move.
Claudia
But I do think at the end of the day, if we're just talking shop, you and I, about what's best for the business, I do feel like whatever we are passionate about will always wind up being the best content.
Jackie
It's true. And if we feel like there's a week where, you know, be doing pop culture doesn't serve us and it's not a good pop culture week. Thankfully, Taylor Swift helped us out this morning. There was like a decent amount of news to talk about.
Claudia
We have still 1000. I like catching up on the news of the week. I'm happy with this format and I'm optimistic that our new open window policy will make for a party experience.
Jackie
And I'm sorry, there was just no way that, like this week in particular, with the Brandon Blackstock of it all, Taylor Swift potentially being on new Heights and then McLardia, there was no way we weren't doing a podcast today. So maybe if you're looking for a sceney vlog, check back next week.
Claudia
Yeah. And there will be sceny vlogs. I'm also hoping for an aside. While all sisters are here, I know everybody's hoping for an aside. And honestly, they Four of these microphones. We have four of these microphones. If we can figure out how to connect them, we can have an asod.
Jackie
We've been sitting on this couch, by the way.
Claudia
ASOD is all steens on deck.
Jackie
We've been sitting on this couch for an hour having, like, figuring out, trying to figure out how to put these bluetooth microphones. The last time we used these bluetooth microphones, we did what's in my hospital bag. And they weren't connected the entire time.
Claudia
Correct. But the last time I used one was for my stroller hauler, and it connected the whole time, and it was so wonderful.
Jackie
We're also recording backup audio. And I do agree that, like, this might be the best setup yet. However, just like, based on what I'm seeing in the camera, it's giving that scene an elf when he sits on real on elf furniture.
Claudia
Every show we've ever filmed in our lives gives that scene in elf. Because we are elves.
Jackie
Correct.
Claudia
We are Santa's little helpers. Very little, tiny, teeny tiny.
Jackie
He can't even see us sometimes when we turn to the side. So skinny. Okay, let's dive into the McLarty of it all. Okay. Like, I just, I feel like that's really what people are tuning in for.
Claudia
Yeah. And I didn't even get to catch up with you because basically, from my pov, you went to the fair that night. We had gone to the fair.
Jackie
There's a carnival in town. It, like, benefits the local fire department, and it's like a major carnival. Can we talk about carnivals for a second?
Claudia
Yeah, sure.
Jackson Claude
What?
Jackie
A croc. Oh, my God.
Claudia
Oh.
Jackie
First of all, we get there, and there's a ticket booth, and, like, you need tickets to go on the rides. So Ben was like, should I get bracelets for everyone? Bracelet gets you entry. Unlimited rides, $45 a person. And I'm like, I don't know. I don't feel like we're going that many rides. It was me, Ben, Ben's parents. I'm like, ben's parents are definitely not going on a ride. So I'm like, get a couple of tickets. So we got, like, a good amount of tickets, and then we start going around, and the things that we really wanted to do are, like, the carnival games, like, toss the ring on the bottom.
Claudia
$10 per person for one try.
Jackie
So it's not even. You can't use the tickets.
Claudia
Cash only.
Jackie
The tickets don't apply to the games. It's only. And by the way, $10. There was nothing under $20. It's like, oh, you want to shoot the water balloon? You get two tries for $20. Of course, you don't miss it. You miss it, so you want to do it again. I didn't even bring cash.
Claudia
I was like, they had an ATM. Don't worry.
Jackie
Oh, ATMs everywhere.
Claudia
And as much as it is a croc, like, it's for the fire department. So I'm happy to blow my money for the fire department, but these individual vendors, they're taking all this cash collected and giving it to the fire department. So that's know the fire department.
Jackie
That's where I was getting confused, because I think, like, which part of it benefited the fire department?
Claudia
Definitely the stand with the tickets.
Jackie
The tickets, totally.
Claudia
And mission.
Jackie
But I was just not getting the vibe, because I know how the carnivals work. Like, they travel together. Like Leanne Locken.
Claudia
They don't have an affiliation with the fire department.
Jackie
Okay. I'm so glad we were talking about this. I was confused as to, like, how the fire department was making money here.
Claudia
And what's to stop someone from pocketing half of the cash? Everything's cash. It's very informal. No, there's no ledger.
Jackie
Levi wanted, like, a giraffe. It was a stuffed animal giraffe. It was, like, large not. Not huge. I would say the size of a one year old. $80. $80 for a stuffed animal? You guys.
Claudia
For the fire department.
Jackie
It was so crazy. But let me just say. So I get to the carnival and I'm waiting by the front because Olivia and I took separate cars, which was like such a big mistake. There was no service. I couldn't find her. I was just standing there, waiting around.
Claudia
Hey, guys.
Jackie
Turdi here.

Jackie: "What’s going on here is a work in progress. It’s trial and error. Hopefully you love it. Hopefully you don’t hate it." [00:44]

Claudia: "I’m not ready because I wasn’t even there." [01:11]
The hosts discuss the feedback they received from their Patreon community. Initially concerned about overwhelming requests for vlogs, they were pleasantly surprised to find that fans prefer they continue their current content without major changes.
Claudia: "They said, keep doing what you're doing. You're so perfect." [01:37-01:39]
Jackie: "They said, shut up and sing." [01:39]
Both agree that staying true to their passions ensures the best content for their audience.
Claudia: "Whatever we are passionate about will always wind up being the best content." [01:57]
Shifting to pop culture, Jackie mentions that despite some uncertainties, like the Brandon Blackstock situation and Taylor Swift potentially being involved in new projects, there was ample news to discuss, thanks to Taylor Swift herself.
Jackie: "Thankfully, Taylor Swift helped us out this morning. There was like a decent amount of news to talk about." [02:04]
Claudia expresses satisfaction with their current format and optimism about their "open window policy," aiming to create a lively and engaging experience for their listeners.
Claudia: "I’m happy with this format and I’m optimistic that our new open window policy will make for a party experience." [02:14]

They humorously compare their on-screen appearance to elves, adding a lighthearted touch to the technical discussion.
Claudia: "We are elves. We are Santa's little helpers. Very little, tiny, teeny tiny." [03:20]
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to Jackie and Claudia recounting their recent trip to a local carnival benefiting the fire department. They navigate through various challenges, including confusion over ticket allocations and the high cost of carnival games.
Jackie: "We have an asod," [approximating ASOD meaning] was being considered amidst technical setups, highlighting their multitasking efforts. [02:37]
The hosts express frustration over the carnival's payment structure, where tickets didn't apply to games, forcing them to use cash—a detail that muddled the benefit's transparency.
Claudia: "The tickets don't apply to the games. It's only cash." [04:19]
They also touch upon the high prices of carnival items, like $80 stuffed animal giraffes, questioning the value despite the proceeds going to the fire department.
Jackie: "It was $80 for a stuffed animal? You guys." [05:07]
Additionally, Jackie shares a personal anecdote about losing track of her companion due to poor communication, emphasizing the chaotic nature of the event.
Jackie: "I was waiting by the front because Olivia and I took separate cars, which was like such a big mistake." [04:30]
Towards the end of the episode, Claudia and Jackie discuss their aspirations for future content, including the possibility of creating "asods" (on-deck segments) and more vlogs once their technical setups are stabilized.
Claudia: "And there will be sceny vlogs. I’m also hoping for an aside." [02:25]
They express optimism about enhancing their content offerings while maintaining their authentic style that resonates with their audience.
The episode concludes with a brief promotion of their Patreon membership, encouraging listeners to join for exclusive content, including extra episodes, vlogs, and access to their entire catalog featuring various guest appearances.
