Claudia Oshry
Good morning, girlies.
Joey Kamasta
It's the Toast.
Claudia Oshry
It's Jackson Claude and we're your host. It's your favorite show. The Fast 5 things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the Toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to the Toast. Happy Thursdays. Good morning. Good morning. You know, good morning got cut. Oops, it faded out. I'll say. Cause we have a theme song. If you're listening to today's episode, you've just heard our pargilicious theme song and there wasn't really space for Good morning millennials anymore. And I personally was shoving it out the door. Cause I like to evolve and change and grow.
Joey Kamasta
I love it.
Claudia Oshry
And I just felt like it was limiting us. It was holding us back from our destiny.
Joey Kamasta
I still do the crunch every day, just, just for remembrance.
Claudia Oshry
You and Ben still are holding us to that crunch. And I love the crunch. And I'm not trying to get rid of the crunch. Welcome, Joey Kamasta. That's the last time I'll say your name right. Cause I just can't stop saying Joey Kamaster.
Joey Kamasta
Yep. Say it. Say it all the way how you like it.
Claudia Oshry
And I was thinking I say everything like Taylor Seline or. You're the only person on earth who does that more than I do.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, well, it's, it's a big east coast Italian thing. Everyone adds an er to anything that needs it.
Claudia Oshry
It's an Italian thing.
Joey Kamasta
It's. I don't know, I think it's just like a, a, a, A dialect thing in like Long Island, New Jersey.
Claudia Oshry
I'm obsessed. I'm Italian.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, you are.
Claudia Oshry
Are you Italian?
Joey Kamasta
I think so. Yeah. A little bit.
Claudia Oshry
I think so.
Joey Kamasta
I'm, I'm, I'm a mutt. I'm a little Italian, a little Irish.
Claudia Oshry
A little sassy, A little bit of everything.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Well, welcome to the toast. You have co hosted the Toast so many times, but you and I haven't co hosted the toast in like 5 years. Not since the pink backdrop.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, right.
Claudia Oshry
When we were out in Long Island City.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
Good times.
Joey Kamasta
With the palm trees.
Claudia Oshry
With the palm trees.
Joey Kamasta
How we have evolved.
Claudia Oshry
I know.
Joey Kamasta
And now we have, now we're doing naughty neutrals.
Claudia Oshry
No. And you're so naughty neutral.
Joey Kamasta
So you know what, Cuz I saw your set yesterday and I was like, oh my God, how chic. So I had to get glam today. I got a haircut like 9:00am and I got, you know, did my makeup and I had to put a cute outfit on to Be tonal. Cuz everything looks so chic and aesthetic and I didn't want to show up here in a hoodie and like, you know, sweatpants.
Claudia Oshry
I understand. But it was hard cuz it's raining. I thought about wearing a sweatshirt and then I was like, I'll do a sweater. Yeah, I'll keep it to a sweater. Yeah. This is a toast cardigan. One of my faves that we've ever made. Well, welcome to the toast. Will you give everyone like a little. If you're new here. To the toast. Not you. You're not new here. We'll just let everyone know. Who are you?
Joey Kamasta
Well, I'm a podcaster. A comedian.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
I was a makeup art career. A career makeup artist for many moons.
Claudia Oshry
Do you still do makeup?
Joey Kamasta
I'll do it for the. If the timing's right. You know what I mean? Like, it's. It's like I'm not like out there like, getting jobs and like showing my portfolio and like going on, you know, things like that. But if something pops up that's salacial, like it's a celebrity I want to work with or like a brand. A brand I'm trying to get something free from.
Claudia Oshry
What was the last makeup you did?
Joey Kamasta
I mean, I do. I do anything for mtv, so I do a lot of, you know, all the Jersey Shore. I'll do anything for the Paramount. Pluses, I'll do like Dexter things for Dexter. Dexter, yeah, anything Paramount. I do a lot of that stuff right now.
Claudia Oshry
Okay, cool. And you do a podcast with Snooki also. And you used to do Snooki's makeup.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, we. That's how we met. I still do it for now.
Claudia Oshry
I was going to say, like, if you guys are doing a live show and she needs her face, you're going to do it, right?
Joey Kamasta
Getting on duty, jumping on, back on duty.
Claudia Oshry
Honestly, Claudia needs to learn to do my makeup for those shows.
Joey Kamasta
I know.
Claudia Oshry
Or vice versa.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, it's hard. It's hard. I'll do anything for her all the time. But we have our podcast. It's happening with Snook and Joey every Friday. We're find. Find podcasts to be found.
Claudia Oshry
It's such a good podcast. You guys have been doing it for so long.
Joey Kamasta
You've been over 10 years.
Claudia Oshry
It's crazy.
Joey Kamasta
You're the original crew when, like when the girls next door were doing podcasting.
Claudia Oshry
Seriously. And I also had KFC on this week from Barstool, who's also been like, we're in. I know. We're all like, I'm in podcasting for eight years, but let's just call it 10. Like we're the decade long podcasting club. Like, we've been here for a while.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. We don't even know what it was. I thought it was a radio show.
Claudia Oshry
I mean, I guess it sort of was. And it was just like a low lift to also upload it on demand. So. Sure, yeah, let's do that.
Joey Kamasta
This is like the toast, I feel like is like the SNL of the podcasting world. So like, you know how there's lifers. Like, you know, like Jon Hamm has hosted SNL how many times. I feel like I'm a. Feel like I'm a life. Because I have this. Probably my fifth or sixth time co hosting.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, you're. And you're a fan favorite. Like most requested trl.
Joey Kamasta
Like everybody's drinking tea at the Justin Timberlake's Of. Of the.
Claudia Oshry
It's true. And you're also a professional, which makes my job easy because you're a great podcaster. Hence the 10 years in the biz.
Joey Kamasta
Tenure. Is that what that means? 10 years? I mean, over 10 years.
Claudia Oshry
Like actually, no, but it should.
Joey Kamasta
It's. That's what I always sound. So I thought I had to be 10, but then like I could be tenured. Working as a lunch lady for eight years.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. No, but then there are some professors, I think they get tenured early and that's a bit of a scandal. And then there's some professors working 20, 20 years who aren't tenured.
Joey Kamasta
That's like the. That's also like. I guess I have word association, if that's a real thing. But that same thing, like the Alzheimer's. I always think it means old timers syndrome. Like it was like, you know, something that like an old timer gets.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, no, no, it's not so far fetched for both Alzheimer's and 10 years.
Joey Kamasta
I think if it sounds the same, it should have the same meaning.
Claudia Oshry
Let's just ask Chat GPT. Like, what does qualify someone to get tenure? I just like, now I'm curious.
Joey Kamasta
I'm curious if we have to like a audition for it to.
Claudia Oshry
Yes.
Joey Kamasta
Are we tenured artists?
Claudia Oshry
I think I'm tenured. At the toast.
Joey Kamasta
My watch is on backwards, which means.
Claudia Oshry
I'm due for a sabbatical. That's what it means.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. Well, you get. Oh, that's another thing. You're probably gonna. When did you go on pregnancy leave?
Claudia Oshry
Not for a while. Like I'll be here for a while, but we are taking a bit of a sabbatical this summer.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, good.
Claudia Oshry
And so we're just working less, which I'm very excited about. Oh. It's a permanent academic appointment that protects faculty from being dismissed without cause.
Joey Kamasta
Oh.
Claudia Oshry
Commonly after a probationary period of five to seven years at the institution. Right. So we're coming up on, like, eight years of toast. So we got a sabbatical. Yeah, we gave ourselves one.
Joey Kamasta
I love it.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, same. You were just telling me you have big summer plans. What are you doing?
Joey Kamasta
Well, you know, I'm just gonna. I'm doing me. That's what I'm doing this summer.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
I'm just gonna focus on passion projects. It's not necessarily a gap year, but it's like. It's like. It's like I'm just gonna, like, you know, things I haven't done before. Like, I want to. I wanted to do, like, you know, pottery making. You know, there's like.
Claudia Oshry
That's not what I thought you were gonna say.
Joey Kamasta
Well, I've been traveling. I'm not traveling a lot. I'm just going to the Hamptons.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
Just Hamptons and then South Carolina. I'm going to Charleston for a little bit. My sister and family lives there. I haven't seen them in a while. And, you know, that's a Kiki coastal town.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. That's a nice place to go. I've never been, but I think I would like it.
Joey Kamasta
And I focus on cooking things and cocktail making and just, you know, being more present with my cooking.
Claudia Oshry
So. Yes. In addition to being a tenured podcaster, you are also an excellent chef.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
You do a lot of high quality cooking content on Instagram. Where did you learn how to cook?
Joey Kamasta
My father's a chef. Oh, so he's.
Claudia Oshry
Are you Ben?
Joey Kamasta
I know.
Claudia Oshry
Literally, Ben.
Joey Kamasta
I know. Ben's dad and I, we. We. We've kiki'd before. Talking about the biz, not geeking with Bruce talked about the biz and. Yeah. So we're. I mean, I think that's what. Ben and I have a lot in common now. Fourth of July's coming up very soon. Fork of July is coming up very.
Claudia Oshry
Soon, I was gonna say. I think you mean Fork of July.
Joey Kamasta
I know. So I'm gonna have to, you know, step it up a little bit to kind of compete with that. But, yeah, I just love, you know, I always loved things. And I watched Food Network growing up. I used to sit home and, you know, stay home after school and just watch the Food Network. Giana de Laurentiis the. Who are your favorite? I mean, back then it was. That guy had a crush on Bobby Flay. No, it was the other one, Emeril. No, he had. He's like a. Oh, my God. He was so cute. Oh, my God. I have to think of it.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
He has the restaurant in San Francisco.
Claudia Oshry
I'm sure people in the comments are like screaming into their phones.
Joey Kamasta
Yes, no, I know who it is. He's. He's a cutie patootie, though.
Claudia Oshry
Hold on. Who is a Food Network chef.
Joey Kamasta
Male. I still have a crush on him sometimes.
Claudia Oshry
Chad, GBT gives us, like way too long of answers. They need to work on that.
Joey Kamasta
I took a beta blocker today, so.
Claudia Oshry
I can't remember what exactly is a beta.
Joey Kamasta
I didn't really take one. I think it's something for people to get stage fright. Like something about to go. Something stressful.
Claudia Oshry
But it's like. Is Xanax a beta blocker?
Joey Kamasta
No, I think that's like a. That's like an anti psychotic. That's right.
Claudia Oshry
Okay, wait, we have so many. Who has a restaurant in San Francisco?
Joey Kamasta
He is.
Claudia Oshry
I have so many questions for ChatGPT today.
Joey Kamasta
Coming in. I think there's a letter T.
Claudia Oshry
T. Okay. Should I tell. GPT starts with a T. They're searching the web. Several male chefs. Tyler, Florence.
Joey Kamasta
Tyler, Florence.
Claudia Oshry
Is that your boy? Your boy, Ty?
Joey Kamasta
Yes. Tyler, Florence. I used to watch him religiously.
Claudia Oshry
I see a picture.
Joey Kamasta
He's so cute. I love Giada De Laurentiis. Of course. The Biafra contessa is my Kiki queen, Paula Deen. I have a soft spot for, you know, a stick of butter in anything. Yeah, you know, I'm. I'm on board. I just watch all those, you know, Rachel Ray even.
Claudia Oshry
Well, how do you feel about Rachel Ray's current.
Joey Kamasta
I don't know what's going on. I don't know what's going on. You know, I'm praying that everything's on the up. You know, she's okay, like health wise, you know, but, you know, we all get sluggish looking sometimes.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. And maybe she's been.
Joey Kamasta
She's been in the game for. She's tenured.
Claudia Oshry
She is tenured. And I feel like if she's putting out the videos, it's like her saying, like, I'm good, I'm working, I'm fine. Maybe she just got like, think.
Joey Kamasta
I think everyone's. It's mostly about her appearance and her, like, slurring words. Is it?
Claudia Oshry
And also, like, what was coming out the Content of what she was saying as well.
Joey Kamasta
Okay. I didn't know about anything about that. But I do know from a little inside scoop, I knew that she had alcoholism, you know, for a long time.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, wow. A little inside scoop in the show.
Joey Kamasta
She should drink on the job, I believe.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
I had to write it down from. From makeup. Well, I. I used to know her makeup artist. Her makeup artist used to tell me that she was a belligerent drunk on set. This was years ago, though. This was like, you know, 20 years ago.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. Because also, like, the behavior in the videos could also just be chalked up to being drunk.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, maybe. Yeah. Maybe it could be the after effects of being. No.
Claudia Oshry
Or just drunk.
Joey Kamasta
Or she could be drunk.
Claudia Oshry
Like, it was giving drunk. Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
So if it's giving drunk, she probably had a little. A couple of nips of Pinot grigio before the show started.
Claudia Oshry
Did you ever want to be a chef?
Joey Kamasta
You know what I saw my. No. The thing is, I love food so much. It gives me so much joy. But using it as a career, like, a real career, like, we have to, like, work in a restaurant. I don't think restaurant is for me. I mean, eventually, once I become, you know, a multitrillionaire, like, I'll open restaurants in Vegas, I'll sell out for anything.
Claudia Oshry
The top level.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. But I'm not sitting in a rest. I don't think I have it in me to be working on the line in a restaurant.
Claudia Oshry
I don't think you do either.
Joey Kamasta
I could be. I could be a. You know what I'd be good at? Like, you know, with. Yum. Give it like a consultant. Like a restaurant consultant.
Claudia Oshry
Okay. And I. Feedback.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. Like, I think we need a crudite on this menu. I think we need, like, you know, maybe something with cilantro or, you know.
Claudia Oshry
I need a spicy margarita or I. My curated systems are, like, really, like, just base level. Like, I don't have high bar. Like, I want a gypsum guac. You know, why wouldn't you have that?
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. So I can. I'm good at, like, telling people what they should be doing.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
But I. I don't have the. The. The gusto to start it myself.
Claudia Oshry
That's definitely, like, a dream job. You know, it's probably, like, only there's a few successful ones.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
We can make it. But, like, to be a restaurant critic, where you give just feedback, that'd be.
Joey Kamasta
The best job ever. Because I can go to all different restaurants and just be like, you know, I think this is what you should be doing. And then watch my, the fruits of my benefit. The benefits of my fru. Fruit. What is it?
Claudia Oshry
The fruits of your labor.
Joey Kamasta
Fruits of my labor. Grow.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. What are your favorite restaurants in the city?
Joey Kamasta
Monkey Bar is one of my favorites. Have you been?
Claudia Oshry
No, I'm like very uncultured these days.
Joey Kamasta
Well, it's, it's, you know, it's like a classic New York. It's just a dangers to everything. Right. I love the Monkey Bar. I love in Brooklyn. I love Anti Capesa, which is a fabulous place. In Rome. They have a restaurant in Rome? They do.
Claudia Oshry
Rome. Okay.
Joey Kamasta
Oh yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Roma.
Joey Kamasta
What else am I loving? I love, you know, like Avra is always good.
Claudia Oshry
Avra is always good.
Joey Kamasta
Always good. I, I love it. I, you know, for a chubby gal, I like a clean eating, you know, I, I, I'll, I eat clean, but I eat a lot of it. Like I'll take down two branzinos if need be.
Claudia Oshry
No. Additionally, as a chubby gal, like I just want like good healthy food, you know, but I guess it's hard to come by.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, but average. Always good. You know, anything that's crisp. I, I, I like things perfect restaurant anywhere. It has to have these elements. When I sit down, I need an ice cold cocktail with a creative cocktail menu where I can choose from the house cocktails and get inspired for the what's to come for the meal. So if, you know, if they have something a good base cocktail menu that just, and also does classics really well, that's great. I'm starting with an ice cold cocktail, maybe martini. Then I like to start to munch on something fresh and raw. Like a raw preparation.
Claudia Oshry
Like a crudo or a crudite.
Joey Kamasta
A crudite, a crudo. A shellfish tower, a tartar.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, okay.
Joey Kamasta
A raw preparation of something. A chilled raw preparation.
Claudia Oshry
Not a raw vegetable.
Joey Kamasta
A raw vegetable. And then I like to go into, you know, little appetizers and things that they have on the menu. I like to always try to fit in a pasta there if I can. If there's pasta on the menu, I'm gonna try it just cause it's one of my favorite things.
Claudia Oshry
What's the Italian at this point?
Joey Kamasta
I'm switching to wine now and depending on what the courses I'm taking. And you know, I just like, like to try all the things and then, you know, end my meal with, you know, then switch to an after, after dinner drink. You know.
Claudia Oshry
Beautiful.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
You know how to live.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, I like to do, I like to have a little bit of everything. And I think. And if any restaurant does those things, well, I'm down.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Easy to please.
Joey Kamasta
If anyone. Restaurants want me to come and give them my advice, just let me know. Hit me up.
Claudia Oshry
That would be so great. And you're also like an influencer. So you could also do like a little press for them.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
Make it like a bigger partnership.
Joey Kamasta
Absolutely.
Claudia Oshry
We love partnerships.
Joey Kamasta
I'm all about partnerships.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. Love that.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I'm hungry. So maybe we should get into the episodes so we could. So we could die.
Joey Kamasta
Let's crunch into the episode.
Claudia Oshry
But we have a lot of stories to talk about today. And I'm glad that you're here. Cause we have some big makeup news. And so we needed a makeup expert. Expert.
Joey Kamasta
That's good.
Claudia Oshry
But I also wanted to update everyone because yesterday I released an interview with Lexi Wood from Summer House. I had recorded it a few days ago because we were celebrating Claudia's son Bris yesterday. Yes, the bris of Claudia Sunshield. So I. I feel like.
Joey Kamasta
Photos dropped this morning.
Claudia Oshry
Photos dropped, name dropped. And now I have to just reprogram myself to be, like, saying it publicly because it just feels, instead of being, like, so secretive, you know?
Joey Kamasta
Was a name named prior to the birth?
Claudia Oshry
Yes. Yes.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, everyone knew.
Claudia Oshry
No family knew. But, like, really, she kept. Did a really good job of keeping it under wraps because in the Jewish culture, you're not supposed to share the name of the baby until the bris if it's a boy. So she did a good job of that. And I was like, oh, well, I'm not going to be the one.
Joey Kamasta
And there's loopholes.
Claudia Oshry
Even. Even now I still haven't said it because I'm just like. That's ingrained in me.
Joey Kamasta
And there's a lot of. Not a lot of loopholes, but there's. It's. It's a. It's a. It's a tangled web. When you're naming a Jewish boy, I believe you have to have the first initial of someone who's passed. Or what is. What are the rules for this?
Claudia Oshry
So it's nice to name after someone. And yes, in Judaism, we only name after people who have passed, not people who are still living. So you could either use the name of someone who has passed, who is significant, a grandparent, a parent, great grandparent, anywhere in the family tree. You could come up with your own name if you really want to. What?
Joey Kamasta
The initial of the. Of the. Of the.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, yeah. You could also use the first initial that counts. Or you could just go rogue. Like, there's not a rule that you have to name for someone, but it's so meaningful when you do. Are you named for anyone?
Joey Kamasta
Father, grandfather, and my father.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, they were Joseph.
Joey Kamasta
Joseph. Joseph Kas.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. You're so not a Joseph. You're such a Jo.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. But it's a good name that you have that flexibility.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
You're not a Joe either.
Joey Kamasta
I mean, I. You know, a funny story is I thought I was going to be called Joe when I was growing up. And I remember this. Remember those Playboy name necklaces that everyone had in the 80s?
Claudia Oshry
No.
Joey Kamasta
It was like, it was like a. Like a. It looked like a. Like a playing card and had like a Playboy bunny cut out and like. Like a heart. And it said like, your name diagonally on it.
Claudia Oshry
Cute.
Joey Kamasta
And I remember, like, it was like, this is real gold. I said, I'm gonna have this for the rest. I was like, when I'm old, I'm gonna be wearing this for the rest of my life. So when I'm an adult, I'm gonna be called Joe. So I had it called instead of Joey. I had it said say Joe. So I was able to wear it.
Claudia Oshry
So it's ever been for the rest of your life?
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. Cause it was gold.
Claudia Oshry
But alas, you're still Joey, so I still have.
Joey Kamasta
I still have it to the side.
Claudia Oshry
You'd have to add a Y. It's not so hard.
Joey Kamasta
I know. But yeah, Joseph Kamasta.
Claudia Oshry
Love that. So, yeah, that would be. That would be perfect. So Claudia is son is named Ruben Ashray Safer. And he's named for my mom's dad, Ruben, and we're calling him Ruby.
Joey Kamasta
How did that knee not get stolen already from the other sisters?
Claudia Oshry
It's a great question. So I had the first boy, but I went Harry for my grandpa Harold.
Joey Kamasta
There we go.
Claudia Oshry
And I just like always loved the name Harry. And that worked out well then. Yeah, Olivia went Levi, but she took the L from my mom's mom, Lillian.
Joey Kamasta
As girls in the Australia household, were you girls, like, you know, talking about boys and who you're gonna marry and stuff like that? Was that ever a conversation like, no, I'm taking this name. Don't even try it, girl.
Claudia Oshry
So, like, a little bit, yes. But you can't really, like, take a name and claim a name, like, unless you're having a baby. So, like, you could say and make it known your preference. And Claudia always loved the name Ruben. And like, we kind of knew that that's what she would want. So, like, it wasn't. So we just sort of like, left it there for her.
Joey Kamasta
That's so kind.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. And I. When it comes to, like, other names. No, it's kind of first come, first serve, you know, like, if you want the name, have the babe.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. That's why there's a lot of pressure. Put the ring on it. We gotta get this name before someone else gets it.
Claudia Oshry
Exactly.
Joey Kamasta
There we go. I'm good. She got Ruben.
Claudia Oshry
Ruben.
Joey Kamasta
No middle names. Does Jewish people. Not your middle names.
Claudia Oshry
I don't know what other people do, but we just do our last.
Joey Kamasta
Like, we have such great last names. Ash. Safer.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. And like, we're all girls, so the name isn't going to be passed down through our family. So it's just like a nice way to keep it in the family. And that way all the cousins have the same middle name of Ashrae. Like, my kids are also Ashrae middle name.
Joey Kamasta
Now, do you think there's going to be. Do you think on the 1st of 4th of July there's going to be a Reuben sandwich?
Claudia Oshry
There better be. Yeah, there better be.
Joey Kamasta
I can already see it happening.
Claudia Oshry
I want it.
Joey Kamasta
I know.
Claudia Oshry
I think Reuben sandwich stock. I'd invest.
Joey Kamasta
It's a trending sandwich now.
Claudia Oshry
What's in a Reuben?
Joey Kamasta
It's corned beef or pastrami with, I believe, Russian dressing and sauerkraut.
Claudia Oshry
That sounds so good.
Joey Kamasta
And Swiss cheese. Yeah, I believe.
Claudia Oshry
I think we need a celebratory Reuben.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. On marble rye.
Claudia Oshry
On marble rye.
Joey Kamasta
What a great sandwich.
Claudia Oshry
We're gonna eat this. Sandwiches make me so hungry.
Joey Kamasta
I know. I hope it's not contagious. Turdi was pregnant. Now you are. I'm just. I'm nine months postpartum from Wiggles, so I'm, you know, I'm trying to get my figure back before the summer.
Claudia Oshry
It's not. I guess it might be like you. Come on. The toast. We're very.
Joey Kamasta
I mean, I need. Wiggles needs a brother or sister.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, Wiggles is your new dog?
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
And you just had him nine months ago?
Joey Kamasta
Yes, October 24th. He was. He was. I bought him right off the Internet.
Claudia Oshry
Right. We were just talking about it. You did. Same day delivery.
Joey Kamasta
Same day delivery. She was. He was there in about four hours.
Claudia Oshry
Do you, like, decide that morning. I want a dog?
Joey Kamasta
No, I. I knew for months.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
And I knew for almost a year because I was trying to steal my. My father's friend's dog that he. I was always, like, I was always babysitting him. So I had him cloned sort of like I, I wanted to. I went to his like the parents of the baby of that dog that I loved and tried to have them make again. But one of them was out of commission. The one. The woman wasn't working anymore as, as a. As a wet, wet wife. I don't know what they called him. The dog woman wasn't. She wasn't working. So I had to go. I had to outsource somewhere else. So I found the same kind of like you know cousins of whatever trickle down to. To Brooklyn. There was a breeder there that had the macro teacup long haired Chihuahuas got it.
Claudia Oshry
And tri color sable in tri color sable. So that's how you came upon.
Joey Kamasta
And I said so I found it and I found him and it was there and then I was looking on the. The all the birth date of the litter and the birthday of the litter was the same birthday as my late mother.
Claudia Oshry
So I said that's what we say in Judaism but share it meant to be Basher Bisharta Becherta. Meant to be.
Joey Kamasta
It was meant to be. So I said but then I realized I adopted a Leo dog.
Claudia Oshry
So I was like oh, what is the vibe?
Joey Kamasta
You know just, just entitled as a Leo. So just very just you know they with rightly so they are the stars of the show at all times and you know just. It's a big, it's a big ego ego. So he prances around and owns the whole place.
Claudia Oshry
What's your horoscope? Are you a Scorpio?
Joey Kamasta
I'm a Capricorn. Oh, I'm very, I'm very like I need to know everything before it happens. I have the fear of the unknown. I need to schedule everything and know what's gonna happen. Like if I'm going to a restaurant.
Claudia Oshry
Like I, I'll like you look at the menu.
Joey Kamasta
Not only look at the menu. I'm like we're gonna. Who's sitting where this bitch doesn't eat fish. So if I want to share the appetizer at the table is she gonna be like oh I'm not having any of that. Like this one has shellfish allergy. If I wanted to get the tower, I'm gonna have to sit on this side of the thing. Like I, it's. It goes in so deep and besides just like what, what we're gonna order?
Claudia Oshry
Like who's, who's gonna sit if I.
Joey Kamasta
Wanna get the bottle? I mean this is. There's by the glasses, there's this sauv blanc I want to spring for the bottle. I know that she's, you know, a little cheap. She's not gonna want to pay for the whole bottle. So it's gonna be. It's all the dynamics. And I stress out over something as simple as a girl's going to get lunch.
Claudia Oshry
But does it wind up being as stressful as you thought it was going to be, or.
Joey Kamasta
No, because everyone knows that I'm a psycho, so they just kind of let me. They just kind of, like, bite the door.
Claudia Oshry
Like, you sit there, we're getting the tower you can have.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. And I'm always terrified there's not gonna be enough food. And I was like, you know, so I have to, like, you know, eat before I go because I don't, like, you know, to, like, not get the last shrimp.
Claudia Oshry
No, that's really stressful.
Joey Kamasta
It's a lot of stress. So that. Yes. Anything in life's like that. So I have to, like, know everything.
Claudia Oshry
Maybe that's why you stay home and cook, because, like, you can plan exactly.
Joey Kamasta
And it's in my house, and I can, like, do what I see fit.
Claudia Oshry
And that's the cabinet.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. If I have to excuse myself for a minute to have a breakdown in the ladies room, the guest bathroom, I'm more than welcome.
Claudia Oshry
Well, I'm sorry you're going through all that.
Joey Kamasta
Thank you.
Claudia Oshry
I'm so sorry. But I'm glad that you're here and we are going to get into the show because we have a lot to catch up on now, don't we? So without further ado. Da da da.
Joey Kamasta
Do.
Claudia Oshry
It is time for the Fast 5 stories that you do need to know. And today's episode is brought to you by True fr. Okay. As if we couldn't get any hungrier.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, mama. Trufrou.
Claudia Oshry
Trufrou is the most important thing that's ever happened to me. I discovered it probably two years ago or maybe a year and a half. And for me, I go dark chocolate, raspberry, frozen. What do you do?
Joey Kamasta
I'm the exact same. That and blueberry.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, I like blueberry.
Joey Kamasta
I didn't know you can get them unfrozen until recently.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, yeah, you can. But I'm like, I love.
Joey Kamasta
Is it a dried fruit?
Claudia Oshry
That's dried fruit. But, like, the frozen ones are just like a. Such a fresh. As we were saying, we crave freshness, A sweet treat. Oh, and like, healthy. Who'da thunk? So starting this month, all the true fruit flavors will be available in the Target freezer aisle. We get asked all the time. Where to find specific flavors. So this is the perfect news for all true fruit lovers and fans to stock up on their hard to find flavors and try the new ones. Yeah, I love, you know, experimenting with little Truf or maybe do like a bowl of mixed berries.
Joey Kamasta
It is the most decadent and satisfying treat I've ever had in my life.
Claudia Oshry
It is. So they take perfectly ripe fruit and coat it in insanely good dark or milk chocolate. Then they flash freeze it to lock in all that goodness. No artificial flavor flavors, no weird stuff. Just real fruit, real chocolate and magic. It's the perfect post dinner treat. That's when I like to enjoy my money. I'm watching my shows after dinner. I want a sweet treat. Like I don't want to eat something so unhealthy.
Joey Kamasta
Can I say that out of all the desserts I've ever had in my life, that is, you only need a few of them and it's so satiating and so satisfying that you don't. I think I'm saying I figure I'm eat the whole bag and then I end up saving them some for later. But it's like, you know, you only need a few of them popped in your mouth. It's so satisfying.
Claudia Oshry
So satisfying. So once you try Trufruit, you will wonder how a fruit ever existed without chocolate. Grab your friends, neighbor or anyone you love and get to the Target freeze aisle to try all of the free flavors of True fruit. Or for your online grocery shoppers, you can buy true fruit@target.com if you haven't tried True Fruit yet. You guys, I'm really excited for you. Today's episode is also brought to you by Symbiotica. We're traveling, we're taking sabbaticals. But that doesn't we're mean slipping on our health goals because it is summer so you want to be feeling your best. They have Irish Sea moss, which supports gut health for smoother digestion, promotes clear radiant complexion, fuel cellular energy to support healthy aging. It also has liposomal vitamin C, which benefits collagen production, glowing skin antioxidants. It's also an immunity booster. I feel like I've been seeing Symbiotica everywhere at the moment and it's one of those things that's popular for a because it does what it Says it's gonna do.
Joey Kamasta
Sea moss is all the rage right now.
Claudia Oshry
Sea moss is so Irish.
Joey Kamasta
Sea moss particularly.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, just like you.
Joey Kamasta
That's me.
Claudia Oshry
CMOS is the rage. Vitamin C is always in style, don't you find?
Joey Kamasta
Oh, 100%. It cures everything.
Claudia Oshry

Today's episode is also brought to you by Quints. Speaking of things we need for summer obsessed Quince. A wardrobe by Quints.
Joey Kamasta
That's where my waffle knit robe is from that I get compliments on every time I go live with it.
Claudia Oshry
And you know what? Quint has an amazing Father's Day promotion and a waffle print robe. Sounds like an amazing gift for your dad.
Joey Kamasta
So chic.
Claudia Oshry
So Father's Day gifting is always the same story, right? Socks, grills, tools, tie, tie. This year I want to do better. Especially for Zach. He deserves a par Father's Day gift. He's been really great. So I found that Quince has made buying a thoughtful gift incredibly easy. Cuz Quince has all the pieces that dads actually want to wear. Like organic silk polos, European linen beach shorts, and comfortable pants that work for everything from weekend hangouts to nice dinners. The best part is that everything with quints is priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Because they work directly with top artisans and cut out the middleman, they are able to give you luxury pieces without the crazy markups. And Quince only works with factories that use safe, ethical and responsible manufacturing practices and premium fabric finishes. So for the dad who deserves better than basic Quince has you covered. For your dad, for your husband, for your friend.
Joey Kamasta
This is my first Father's Day.
Claudia Oshry
It's your first Father's Day and I know that you would love a European silk polo from Quince. I just love. I love that. Our first story. E L F Beauty will acquire Hailey Bieber's skincare brand Rhode for $1 billion. So this was amongst the big news of the day yesterday. Hailey Bieber's skincare company and makeup it's a bit of a flex company Rhode island sold for $1 billion to E L F Beauty. So it's about $800 million in cash. I know we're just so shook over here. $800 million in cash and then another 200 million that will come if they like hit some goals along the way. So okay, Hailey Bieber more or less billionaires club.
Joey Kamasta
Billion dollar Bieber.
Claudia Oshry
Billion dollar Bieber and not Justin.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
So she's worth more than him.
Joey Kamasta
See you know what, okay here's my, my, my, my opening statement. Thoughts on this is good for you sis. I did not see that coming though. I know that. I know that the first, I think the first like influencer style celebrity billion dollar cosmetic brand was Kylie.
Claudia Oshry
With Kylie that's how I remember it. Or maybe Fenty but they were around the same time.
Joey Kamasta
Correct lip kits and things like that. I'm not saying I didn't see, I didn't see road. I think that, I think Hailey Bieber's capable of doing anything she puts her mind to. I think she's fabulous. I think she's genuine and a good person. I think, I love, I like her. I thought the road basing on the products I've tried and things like that. I didn't think the products were that were that popular and that like globally influenced. I don't think everyone's that globally influenced to buy it as much as they were buying Kylie's.
Claudia Oshry
Interesting. I love the products like even this morning I think I'm wearing three road products in my everyday and like I'm not even being paid to say that so I'm not surprised that it's successful because it's good stuff. But I did not realize the scale of it magnitude a billion dollars and I think I saw somewhere she more or less has 10 products. So this is a billion dollar valuation for a brand with 10 products. Like that's massive. What each product is worth a hundred million dollars.
Joey Kamasta
It's crazy. I know I this, I try the skin care but I think the thing with the skin care is I'm an old lady so it's like you know I, I need, you know she has beautiful ingredients and the peptides and all the good things in her skin. The milks and all those things. When you get to my age you know I need, I need to keep playing facelift I need the Kris Kardashian.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
So I, they weren't bad products. I just think I was, I needed something more medicinal.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I think what I also like about Rhode is like, sometimes when the girlies do skincare, like even Kylie skin. And I love Kylie and I don't want to say a bad word about her, but I do feel old for Kylie's skin. Like, I do need more and I think I had the same reaction when I tried that stuff. I'm like, oh, this is nice if you're 18 and like, you don't need heavy lift.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
But it'll hydrate your skin and will take care of your skin. But like, I need more. What I liked about Rhoda is that I felt like it was, it's the right amount for me. Like, it's not, not too thick, it's not too medicinal. I don't want. Because also I love to use the good stuff like a little La Mer.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
But then what will I use as I get older? If I'm already using the old lady products now? They'll be, I'll, my skin will build up a tolerance.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
I have to save that stuff.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. I gotta say, I, I, I'm a toasted Teddy girl. I have my third tube of toasted Teddy.
Claudia Oshry
What's toasted Teddy?
Joey Kamasta
The blush. It's the pocket blush and that rusty kind of sun wind burned color.
Claudia Oshry
I think I use Piggy.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
My favorite name. She should work on that. I'm kidding. Oh, yeah, that Pocket Blush, that's the third product I use in my everyday.
Joey Kamasta
I think that's the one that maybe, I think between the phone case, the lip peptide and the phone case combo and then the Pocket Blush, I think that's where she like skyrocketed to, to superstardom.
Claudia Oshry
I would love to know which one of her products is the most successful. It might be Peptide lit because you can get so many and like, you.
Joey Kamasta
Know, it's like, I don't have road with me today. I'm using.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, you're using a competitor while we praise Rhode. But Summer Fridays is also really good and I don't think it's peptide, so they're so different.
Joey Kamasta
What does a peptide do?
Claudia Oshry
Peptide, you know, classic. Everybody wants peptide. Oh, that looks nice. Yeah, totally like change your look. Totally change your look.
Joey Kamasta
I haven't tried the road, but they're going to be starting sold in Sephora though, so I know I can try it.
Claudia Oshry
Sold in Sephora. I think Elf Beauty will help with scaling distribution and being More global. I saw, like, a bunch of countries that they're now going to be in. I also think on a personal level, of course, everyone wants to be a billionaire. Mazel tov to Haley. But, like, we were getting to a place of like, like, are the Bieber's destitute? You know, like, all his money is kind of spent. And now she is the breadwinner.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
And I think she's a lot more responsible. I don't think he will be able to touch a scent of this because he's not to be trusted with money.
Joey Kamasta
Right.
Claudia Oshry
And that's for the best for their family. And an island and a bunch of that actually would be, like, tangible because I feel like he spent all his money. What did he buy? You know?
Joey Kamasta
Right.
Claudia Oshry
I wouldn't mind if someone bought an island or a Lamborghini. At least I can see it.
Joey Kamasta
But there you go.
Claudia Oshry
But, like, don't buy stuff that I can't see.
Joey Kamasta
Like, like high tops.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. Or like, I don't want to say it. Something you could consume. Oh, Even food.
Joey Kamasta
Okay.
Claudia Oshry
You spend a lot on food.
Joey Kamasta
She's talking about pot brownies.
Claudia Oshry
I'm talking about. Yeah. Like, even, like, out, Like. Yeah. Food and beverage.
Joey Kamasta
Okay. Got it. But I'm. I'm excited for. I think that now that we know that what she's capable of. I don't. Don't go crazy now. But I'm saying a fashion line with her would be insane.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I just think this is really amazing. Like, she decided. I feel like she said, like, I want. Even in that TMZ thing that came out where she was, like, on tour with Justin and they gave her a plane to go on his tour. She was like, no, I want one that's the size of Kylie's. And they were like, no. And so she didn't take their small plane. But I feel like she woke up and was like, I want a plane. Like Kylie Jenner. I want a billion dollars. I'm gonna make it happen.
Joey Kamasta
She manifested it and.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. But most people, like, when they set out to build a billion dollar brand, like, they don't and they can't. Because that's not how brands get built just because you want it.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
But, like, she really did it. I think this is an amazing women.
Joey Kamasta
I love it. I'm excited for Elf. Is this the first acquisition that Elf has as a brand?
Claudia Oshry
I don't know. But, you know, the last thing I heard about Elf, Remember that interview that Meghan Markle did? That podcast interview, the most recent one where she's like talking.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, Jamie with. From the.
Claudia Oshry
She's Elf, right?
Joey Kamasta
No, she is Jamie Kiernan. She is from it cosmetics.
Claudia Oshry
To me, Elf and it like are the same thing.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, no, it is much more luxury. Elf is like. No, Elf is the end caps of the. In the drugstore. It's like 99 cent me up. Oh, not 97, but they do, they do dupes, great dupes, everything.
Claudia Oshry
That's why they have enough money to acquire Rose.
Joey Kamasta
They came so far. They. For a while they were just like, you know, a very small brand based.
Claudia Oshry
Like I think Islip's face.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, yeah, Islip's face. And they now they started doing the dupes of their primers became really big. They had this hydro grip primer dupe that they had this, this. The green jelly primer. Yeah, they got big with that and then they started doing the. The wand blush. Like the Charlotte Tilbury. Like knocking off Charlotte Tilbury. Not knocking off, but just inspired by.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, like, just like look for less.
Joey Kamasta
So they found really great dupes and the products they were making were incredible. The thing with the line, those cheap line that lines are inexpensive like that, they're how they're able to get such quality products and like, and still sell for cheap prices. There's is, there's minimums. Like Elf is carried at every, every drugstore, cvs, Target, everywhere in the world. And so they're ordering so much of that one product so they're able to get it at a lower cost because they're ordering billions of units of it. So a smaller brand like, you know, that's only at a few department stores, select department stores and things like that. They have to have a much higher price point because the packaging is much more elite and expensive. And they're not, they're not ordering as much of it. So they're going to have to pay a higher premium for that. So that's why you can get those big brands like l' Oreal and you know, and drugstore brands. You get great products for a lot cheaper.
Claudia Oshry
And that's why we have the makeup guru Joey Commaster on the podcast today to break this down for us. I really thought you a little pargy tip five minutes ago. I really thought Elf Cosmetics was it cosmetics. I'm like, how do they have a billion dollars? I'm not going to question it. Happy for Haley. Get your bag. But no, it's as if like l' Oreal bought.
Joey Kamasta
Well, I don't think Elf is that big, but yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Okay, so still wrong. Like Nyx.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Yes, I like Nyx.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, they're good. They do great stuff. Yeah, they have that little store in Union Square that never opened. It was open for like two days, then it's, like, gone.
Claudia Oshry
I think in the two days that it was open, I went there because they had a contour stick that I used to really like, a double sided concealer and contour, and it was like, the only one that worked for me. And then they closed, and now I use the Clinique chubby stick.
Joey Kamasta
I love Clinique. So nostalgic.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, it's true. Some things are, like, around a long time for a reason. So. Yeah, I use Clinique and Rhode, and I'm get you a girl who could do both.
Joey Kamasta
That's right. Congratulations, Haley.
Claudia Oshry
Congratulations to Hayley. Like, I feel like she is, like, just sitting pretty today, like, laughing in everyone's face because I feel like everyone just doubted her. You know, people are so mean to her.
Joey Kamasta
Before we get to the next story, I said, it's bothering me. Can I bring attention to your Grinder socks that you're wearing?
Claudia Oshry
Yes, you brought attention to them. Before we.
Joey Kamasta
Can you show the camera the.
Claudia Oshry
Is it on the icon?
Joey Kamasta
Okay, okay, there's an icon. So I looked down, I said, are you bringing the Grinder symbol on your socks? She goes, I don't know. They're Zachs. And I said, well, this makes sense.
Claudia Oshry
Is that the Grinder symbol? Let me Google it.
Joey Kamasta
It is the grind. It's a. Just Google.
Claudia Oshry
That makes sense.
Joey Kamasta
I mean, I don't know if she was at. I don't know if you were at a pop up. A Grindr pop up in Florida.
Claudia Oshry
Wait, it's not coming up. Oh, the mask. Oh, okay, I see.
Joey Kamasta
Show him.
Claudia Oshry
Okay, that's not what I show.
Joey Kamasta
Okay, imagine a dick pic and you turn it around.
Claudia Oshry
No, no. Yeah, I'm like, I just want to, like, pick one. I'm standing.
Joey Kamasta
Well, he knows. He has the app on his phone. I'm talking to our lovely producer Chris here.
Claudia Oshry
Okay. This. This is the Grindr logo for anyone who didn't know that, which is me. And then this is my sock.
Joey Kamasta
It's eerily similar. I would ask Zach where he got them.
Claudia Oshry
I will. You know what? Let me just take a picture and ask him.
Joey Kamasta
She was down in Wilton Manors on a business conference.
Claudia Oshry
She's gonna be like, you have had those socks for so long. I always think it's like the infinity symbol.
Joey Kamasta
I mean, I'm sure it's a lovely Athleisure brand.
Claudia Oshry
Where are these socks from?
Joey Kamasta
Imagine like if a gay bar down the street.
Claudia Oshry
Right.
Joey Kamasta
They were having a two for one margarita special. Okay, sorry. Sorry to interrupt the fast five stories.
Claudia Oshry
No, but I'm sorry to this brand that's just been like pretty much ruined or made. Depends how you look at it.
Joey Kamasta
Well, the gays love to shop.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, it depends who your clients are.
Joey Kamasta
Father's Day is coming up.
Claudia Oshry
And Father's Day is coming up. Our next story is some other major news, some legal news. Todd and Julie Chrisley have been released from prison after receiving pardons from President Trump. I didn't even know this was bruin, but then after this all came out, like, then I was looking at the kids, social medias and like they've been in D.C. they've been like lobbying for this. You know who they were with? Alice Marie Johnson.
Joey Kamasta
Yes. Kim Kardashian's friend.
Claudia Oshry
Kim Kardashian's friend who she freed with the help of Trump. So like it's part of this whole. What's the word for it?
Joey Kamasta
Like a movement.
Claudia Oshry
No, but it like justice.
Joey Kamasta
Criminal justice movement.
Claudia Oshry
Criminal justice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they were up next for a pardon. Who knew? And now Todd and Julie Chriss. I believe Todd is out now.
Joey Kamasta
Both of them?
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. He was on his way home to Nashville after being locked up at federal prison in Pensacola, Florida. And Julie was also released not long after her husband. So they are both on their way home.
Joey Kamasta
If not, where was she stationed?
Claudia Oshry
She was stationed at the Federal Medical center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Joey Kamasta
So Kentucky. And the other one was in where?
Claudia Oshry
Florida.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, so they weren't even near each other.
Claudia Oshry
No.
Joey Kamasta
So what a reunion. What a reunion.
Claudia Oshry
What a reunion. Especially because like he got 12 years. I think she had a couple years left and they've both been in prison for at least over a year. It's been a while.
Joey Kamasta
How nuts. Now a thing is with this is how do, how do you choose who gets to go home?
Claudia Oshry
What do you mean?
Joey Kamasta
Like pardons are like. I know that, I know that the President pardoned like thousand, like 5,000 people.
Claudia Oshry
Joe Biden.
Joey Kamasta
No.
Claudia Oshry
Donald Trump today.
Joey Kamasta
No. I think that with this new wave of pardons, I think there was like 4,000 something people that, that, that got pardoned within the. And the Chrissy's just happened to be two numbers on. Two numbers on the thing.
Claudia Oshry
Okay. In this last like week, I, I'm.
Joey Kamasta
Assume, I mean, correct me if I. We have to ask gbt, but they, okay.
Claudia Oshry
They were part of a wave of pardons. It was pardons. Okay.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. So it wasn't just these random two ones. And apparently this has been in the works for many, many moons because Lifetime has been documenting her, trying to get the parents out for. So the show is already. And everyone's saying, get the cameras there. Get the cameras.
Claudia Oshry
The cameras are sat. Oh, wow.
Joey Kamasta
The cameras have been there because her going to. To the. Storming the Capitol or whatever it was, the going to lobby lobbying at. In the White House and all these things was all being documented, like, about her, you know, her. Her journey, I guess. So this is just like an ongoing thing. So I think we're gonna be seeing. She announced. What's her name? Chrisley. The blonde. Chrisley. Savannah Chrisley. Announced that the cameras will be rolling, and this is gonna be a lifetime.
Claudia Oshry
Well, that is so great for the viewers because this is interesting content. Yeah. I don't know, but they obviously have been making their case. It does make sense if it's part of a larger wave of pardons. Cause I guess that's like, what you do.
Joey Kamasta
Right.
Claudia Oshry
And their sentencing was, like, really harsh for the crimes that they committed. And I think that's like the sort of people who are eligible, not eligible.
Joey Kamasta
I think a lot of people in the public eye, they try to make them an example. An example that happens with the Michael situation.
Claudia Oshry
Right. This does remind me of Sitch.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
And so. But if Sytch got 12 years.
Joey Kamasta
Right. Right.
Claudia Oshry
He got one year. Right.
Joey Kamasta
He got. Yeah, a little 13 months.
Claudia Oshry
I think that's your friend. Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. We were just together recently.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, nice. How's he doing?
Joey Kamasta
Lovely. He's got three children now. They have a beautiful home. He's has a new book out. He's opening his own.
Claudia Oshry
I have to tell Claudia. She's obsessed with his own centers.
Joey Kamasta
His own rehab center, rehabilitation center for addiction.
Claudia Oshry
That's amazing.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
You love to see it.
Joey Kamasta
We love to see it.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
But, yeah, so, I mean, a lot. There's a lot of taboo topics about this Chrissy's, you know, because it's, you know, know, being pardoned and, you know, the rich, you know, rich and privileged people.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
Seems like that seems like the trend.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. That people are mad about it.
Joey Kamasta
I think so.
Claudia Oshry
I've been too busy in the last 24 hours to take the pulse and see how people were feeling. And I imagine it's how, you know, if people like the Chrisleys and they felt they were treated unfairly, they're happy for this. If people don't like the Chrisleys and want to throw the book at him, they're like, this is.
Joey Kamasta
I think Todd's a little upset because now he can't have all those prison boyfriends, you know, he was probably thriving in there.
Claudia Oshry
You think so?
Joey Kamasta
If I had to write something down. Well, I saw that she said he got jacked. The Savannah said, my father got jacked. And she showed, like, a glimpse of his bicep and of his thigh. He was wearing. I would think it was a Lululemon short and maybe a half a quarter zip.
Claudia Oshry
Oh.
Joey Kamasta
On the ride.
Claudia Oshry
So he's working on his fitness. Yeah, that's a good thing to do while you're away, as they say.
Joey Kamasta
But I want. I'm excited to see the homecoming video. Cause, like, remember when Teresa Judicia came home from prison? Walked in the kitchen, I always wanted to see what her hair looked like and, like, what, you know, when they come fresh out. I'm seeing fresh out of prison. And I know Julie's not gonna have.
Claudia Oshry
A blow unless she's been working on herself as well. Maybe she's a.
Joey Kamasta
Maybe she. Laverne Cox in there, like an Argentina black doing that. Doing those weekly blowouts. Want to see how she kept up with that frosted color? Do you think she's. Do you think she's. She's rooted and booted, Mama.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, I wonder. I didn't even think about it.
Joey Kamasta
Can you get your hair bleached in prison?
Claudia Oshry
I'm sure you could maybe buy a box dye at the commissary. No.
Joey Kamasta
Maybe Clorox wipes and just do a root smudge.
Claudia Oshry
But I don't know. Maybe at that point, it's just, like, better to just go natural and, like. Yeah, I feel like the upkeep would also be stressful. Like, how am I going to get my. My dye?
Joey Kamasta
High, glam Southern lady.
Claudia Oshry
But I feel like, you know, you could also, if she has, what, a brown, darker hair, like, that could be beautiful as well.
Joey Kamasta
There we go.
Claudia Oshry
But, yeah, it will be interesting to see. I didn't realize.
Joey Kamasta
Ones to watch. Toasters.
Claudia Oshry
Ones to watch. Our third story are also ones to watch. This was news that I saw the other day at the AMAs. Zach Brown and Kendra Scott.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, I said she met Heidi Montag's wig.
Claudia Oshry
Oh. Other news from the AMAs was Heidi Montag's wig.
Joey Kamasta
I think that was. I think that was an Internet plant. I think that was a publicity stuff. Clickbaiting. I think they knew they were doing that. I think she knew it was a risk and it was gonna be talked about. It was so bad. That it was. That it became a headline that she's now thinking about. She's in every. On everyone's mind.
Claudia Oshry
That's true.
Joey Kamasta
She's in everyone's picture. Everyone's, you know, you know, making fun of it all. Press, pr, Good press. There's no right. Right mind that a gay person would do that to her. Unless it was sabotage.
Claudia Oshry
Unless it was sabo.
Joey Kamasta
It was so bad. It was stiffer than. Than a. A box of Pringles.
Claudia Oshry
Okay. But I like it if it's like her idea and she's taking her power back, you know, and getting her press clippings.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, I think it has a little bit of both. I think they're smart. A smart couple. I think that. I think that wig was intentional.
Claudia Oshry
That is so funny.
Joey Kamasta
It was a government plant.
Claudia Oshry
Well, other play on sound the carpet. Zach Brown and Kendra Scott are dating. They debuted another billionaire. Another billionaire female founder. They debuted their romance at romance at the 2025AMA. So Zac Brown is from Zac Brown Band.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
And Kendra Scott is the founder of Kendra Scott Jewelry, a billion dollar brand. She's also a guest shark on Shark Tank. So she's just like, these people are from two completely different worlds.
Joey Kamasta
She bought Kristin Cavallari's jewelry line, didn't she?
Claudia Oshry
She did.
Joey Kamasta
If I'm. If I'm not mistaken, you have all.
Claudia Oshry
The M and A news.
Joey Kamasta
I do a spin off a jewelry brand of uncommon James Love, if I'm correct. But Kendra Scott, I mean, that's another female founder.
Claudia Oshry
Another female founder. This episode is just great for female founders doing big things. Zac Brown seems like a catch, even though as we talk about him, I'm like reminded that there was some sort of scandal in his life.
Joey Kamasta
Is it scandalous or taboo? The relationship. Is there any. What's going on with this? Is she an older lady?
Claudia Oshry
I think this is good. No, no, no. I think he's. He's 46 and she's 51. So, like, we're good. But I feel like when he divorced his ex wife, I remember seeing a lot of headlines just about the divorce. Like, I don't think it was the greatest.
Joey Kamasta
Maybe the timing was. Was. Was off.
Claudia Oshry
Not with Kendra, though, I'm guessing. Cause I feel like if I'm remembering correctly, it was like a year ago at least. So I think Kendra's a new woman, you know, and this is a fresh relationship. I. A new fertile soil.
Joey Kamasta
A younger. A younger rock star. Yeah, she has, you know, her jewelry line rocks. I was trying to make a word association, like Alzheimer's.
Claudia Oshry
That's really beautiful. That's really beautiful. I actually ship so hard, and I just want to know how two people like this meet each other. Like, where do they run into each other in order to spark a romance?
Joey Kamasta
I'm assuming, like, in Nashville. So is she based in Tennessee?
Claudia Oshry
I wouldn't have thought so, but I. I guess it's possible.
Joey Kamasta
What does she look like? Do you have a photograph?
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, of course. She's a beautiful lady.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, wow. No, I didn't. I didn't think that's what she looked like.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, what'd you think?
Joey Kamasta
I didn't know. I didn't think she was so glam. I assumed she'd be more. A little bit more granola. Ish. For some reason. I don't know. Beautiful couple. I mean, I think that that's kind of the people you go for. She's probably a fan of country music. Maybe she was heading. She. You know, she got.
Claudia Oshry
Went to a concert.
Joey Kamasta
Concert. Bought a box. A box for all her jewelry. All her jewelry. Employees. And then went backstage and, you know, caught her eye.
Claudia Oshry
Caught an eye. Yeah. So I'm wishing them lots, and I hope that they've been dating for a while now. If they're finally stepping out, you know, you imagine you'll go public on the first date or second or third.
Joey Kamasta
Zach Brown band is country fried.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, Chicken. Little chicken fried.
Joey Kamasta
And hello, I like my chicken fry.
Claudia Oshry
Cold beer on a Friday night. Little pit Pair of jeans that fit just right.
Joey Kamasta
We're probably going to stop for copyright because I sound just like.
Claudia Oshry
So I don't think they're going to know what that was. And also, Joey's a big country music fan.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
Just. You're full of surprises.
Joey Kamasta
I still have not done Stagecoach yet because you know what? My anxiety is putting it off because I want to make sure it's perfect.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, for the planner, I don't know.
Joey Kamasta
If you know, the house is right. Like, I don't. I'm not a Palm Springer, so I don't know. Like, when I get out to the desert, how do I find the home? How do I find the brand deals? How do I get into all the parties? Like, I want to make sure I'm, like, set up for success. I don't want to be, like, a straggler in a tent sitting on the side of the road next to a cactus.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I do feel like it's easy to end up that way. And even for someone who's not a planner, it's very stressful. Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
So I Need, like, revolve to send me or, like.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, yeah, you need a brand.
Joey Kamasta
I need Quince to send me to the. To the next.
Claudia Oshry
But, like, even if they send you, then you have no control over, like, what if you're in the room that's not right for you.
Joey Kamasta
Right.
Claudia Oshry
So sometimes it's good to write your own.
Joey Kamasta
Well, they base half of the room. You get on your followers now. Now.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, is that how. Yeah, that's how branch trips have been working.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Okay. Like, I don't probably have an issue with that, but how else should it go? Like, someone's gonna have a better room.
Joey Kamasta
Like, beyond. Like, Beyonce is going a little mama going on tour. Beyonce's getting the master suite, Right? Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
I guess they could, like, pick out of a hat. Very Real Housewife style. But I don't know. Don't you want to keep, like, your biggest talent happiest? Right?
Joey Kamasta
I agree. Do you think any brands are watching? Want to send me on a brand trip right now?
Claudia Oshry
Would you love to go on a brand trip?
Joey Kamasta
I mean, depending on what it is. I mean, the caliber of it. And other people go. A lot of times, these people are so young that I feel like, you know, like, I'm the chaperone, and, like, we have kind of nothing in common. So I think if it's the right fit, I would love to do it, you know? You know, if more. I'm more like a Real Housewives error. If it was a girl, like, a Real Housewives girls trip, that'd be more me, like.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
Going to, like, you know, like a. Playing volleyball on a beach in Bali is not my thing.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I don't get invited on a lot of brand trips either.
Joey Kamasta
Do you think if they got invited, you didn't want to go, and they just. They sent me and said they would notice?
Claudia Oshry
No, I don't think that they would. I think they'd be pleasantly surprised.
Joey Kamasta
Account.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, I just. I. But if any brand ambassadors or marketing girlies are planning a brand trip, like, consider girlies. You would be so great.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
And you like to travel.
Joey Kamasta
Love to travel.
Claudia Oshry
Your passport is up to date.
Joey Kamasta
It is up to date.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
I have global entry.
Claudia Oshry
You'd be great for tart because you're a makeup artist.
Joey Kamasta
I did tart. I never went on a chart brand trip. I. I went to. I went to see Beyonce with tarte.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, that was fun.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. So we went there, and then, you know, I do some events here and there, but I never did in the actual sleepover, private jet trip.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
Maureen if you're watching. I know. I'm sure Marine's a toaster. Send me on the next trip.
Claudia Oshry
There's a lot of toasters who work at Tarte.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
They send us product, but they don't invite us to Bali. Oh, I think Claudia actually might have gone. I think also we don't get invited to stuff because people know we won't go.
Joey Kamasta
Right.
Claudia Oshry
So like, but still we would like to be invited. So I just want to make that clear.
Joey Kamasta
Like it's a thought that counts.
Claudia Oshry
You're right. We probably won't go. We have a lot going on. But it's nice to be included.
Joey Kamasta
You just want to be. You just want to be included. I just wanna be appreciated.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, right. Thought of. And it's like, it's when you invite someone to your wedding and you know they can't come, it's like, oh, well, it's perfect. Cause like you got the credit. You got the karma credits and you didn't have to pay for their place.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
That's kind of like what we are.
Joey Kamasta
I love saying no to things.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. Are you ready for our next story?
Joey Kamasta
I've never been more ready.
Claudia Oshry
I am so ready as well. But I do need to let you know I did speak hastily that today's episode of the Toast is brought to you by Fatty 15. So Fatty 15, I'm so my nickname in colle. Claudia Oshry
Grow old gracefully. And Fatty 15 co founder Dr. Stephanie Van Watson discovered the benefits of female founder.
Joey Kamasta
What's going on today?
Claudia Oshry
So many things, so many. Like just obvious signs. She discovered the benefits while working with the US Navy to continually improve the health and welfare of aging dolphins. Based on over 100 studies, we now know that C15 strengthens our cells and is a key longevity enhancing nutrient which helps to slow biological aging at the cellular level because when our cells age, our bodies age too. This eventually led to studies finding the new first new nutritional deficiency in 75 years called called cellular Fragility syndrome. Caused by a lack of the essential fatty acid C15. As many as 1 in 3 people worldwide now have low C15 levels and CFS. Cellular Fragility Syndrome so fatty 15 repairs age related damage to cells, protects them from future breakdown and activates pathways in the body that help regulate our sleep, mood and natural repair mechanisms that support our overall health. It is clinically proven to raise C15 levels resulting in lower cholesterol levels levels, healthier liver function, improved gut microbiome and improved red blood cell health health within three weeks. Best of all, fatty 15 comes in a Gargi Pargi reusable glass bamboo jar and refills are shipped right to your door. I saw it in Target the other day.
Claudia Oshry
Yep. You can now grab your favorite Spritz society flavor in 40 states at Target, Jewel, Osco, Harris, Teeter, Gopuff, or on sprit society.com, easy as pie.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, my God.
Claudia Oshry
Spritz Society, if you don't know, is an award winning canned cocktail company founded by the swirlies Claudia and I and our husbands. These cocktails are wine based, colorful, effervescent and absolutely delicious. We made these canned cocktails because we hated mall base hard seltzers. We love wine. We literally made the cocktail that we wish to drink in the world.
Joey Kamasta
Yes.
Claudia Oshry
And we've won USA's today's best canned cocktail three years in a row now for good reason, because it's seriously delicious. So here are the flavors that are now available. Lemon iced tea, which is by Craig Conover from Southern Charm. I know you're going to Charleston soon.
Joey Kamasta
Love that.
Claudia Oshry
You have to stop by Sewing Down South.
Joey Kamasta
Palmer.
Claudia Oshry
Are you going to stop by Sewing Down South? They have spritzes.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, the pillow store.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, you got to go.
Claudia Oshry
Have you met Craig?
Joey Kamasta
I've met him, yes.
Claudia Oshry
You love him.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Pink Lemonade by Skinny Confidential. My girl, Lauren Bostic. Pickle by Clawson. I'm sure you've had the pickle, Chris.
Joey Kamasta
Cold Clawson.
Claudia Oshry
Chris Colson, Clawson and Peach. These are like the four fan favorites. They're so viral, they're so awesome and they're perfect for summers. So Spritz Society is now available everywhere. Go to spritssociety.com toast to find a store near you and be sure to follow Spritz on Instagram for all of our exciting updates, announcements, events. We've got a lot going on over at Spritz Society.
Joey Kamasta
How exciting. I. I found out the national availability for that. The commercial I saw you on.
Claudia Oshry
Oh yeah, we Did a little commerce.
Joey Kamasta
What did you call them, Bucko?
Claudia Oshry
Something you should have done a long time ago, Bucko.
Joey Kamasta
I loved that commercial. It was so good.
Claudia Oshry
Always quoting it. Well, our next story is some musical movie, musical news. Mamma Mia. Is returning to Broadway, and Sabrina Carpenter is eyed for the third movie and TV version. So lots of Mamma Mia. News.
Joey Kamasta
She'd be perfect in that.
Claudia Oshry
She would be perfect in that. And it might actually make me like Mamma Mia.
Joey Kamasta
It was Amanda Seyfried pri. Her predecessor.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, Amanda Seyfried, predecessor, Meryl Streep. And, like, even though you would think I would love Mamma Mia, I love abba. I love movie musicals. Like, yes. I don't love musicals, but I like them in a movie. I don't like Mamia. It gets on my nerves.
Joey Kamasta
Well, I think all the sounds sound.
Claudia Oshry
The same, but in a good way.
Joey Kamasta
Is that the one that everyone's playing in the. Like, a couple summers ago, everyone was throwing napkins in the. In the club.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joey Kamasta
I remember that.
Claudia Oshry
That's cute. Like, I like all the lore. Like, I should. I like everything about it except the actual movie. I don't know why.
Joey Kamasta
Where does it take place?
Claudia Oshry
Is it Greece?
Joey Kamasta
In Greece.
Claudia Oshry
And it's like, I think the first one, she's getting married. Amanda Sabry's getting married. And then there's, like, three men who might be her father. And then she sings. And then the other one, the next.
Joey Kamasta
One, does the story change?
Claudia Oshry
It's the sequel. So it's like a prequel.
Joey Kamasta
So this is gonna be a sequel to Amanda Seyfried's movie. Are they gonna read you Amanda Seyfried's movie?
Claudia Oshry
I think this will be number three. Like, maybe it's even. I don't know how you would do it in a way that Sabrina Carpenter is the lead, like, not Amanda Seyfried's daughter.
Joey Kamasta
So this was a movie. I'm sorry, is Mamma Mia. Was it a. Was it a Broadway show and then it became a mo.
Claudia Oshry
Yes.
Joey Kamasta
So the Broadway show only showed. Only told one story. So that movie's that. That was emulated in the first movie.
Claudia Oshry
In the first Mamma Mia. Which did really well to me, the second Mamia, now they're talking about a third starring Sabrina. Oh, I think. I think it's good news, like, because it would be good for Sabrina to be, like, box office queen. Would be great for her.
Joey Kamasta
She's good. A lot of people know she's been around for many moons.
Claudia Oshry
She can do it all Yeah, I. I've not been sleeping on Sabrina Carpenter. Like, I would never. I've been a fan of her for. For her whole tenure. Yeah, but people, like, don't really realize. They think, oh, I like espresso, please. And then they see her in concert, they're like, she can dance, she's funny, she can act. I'm like, yeah. Cause she's a Disney character.
Joey Kamasta
She made a brand. She made a brand for herself. She's got that kind of whole niche thing down pat that whatever she's doing.
Claudia Oshry
Do you see her in concert?
Joey Kamasta
I haven't seen her in concert. Oh, I've seen her in concert. Yes, you did. At the VMAs. She was performing.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, you and MTV.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
We were linked and just like obsessed.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. So she was. She's the VMAs and she. She killed it. She was one of the best performers I ever seen. So she has great stage presence. She's marketed herself into this quirky, you know, 50s, 60s, glam bob, whatever, feminine thing. And it's just. It just works for her. She found she found the right niche and I think she's. She's appealing to a broader audience. Men want to see her because she's beautiful. Girls like it because she's relatable and she says, you know, powerful songs about her, you know, about feminine femininity. And she's just, you know, an all around, like, you know, pretty American girl. I think she's very. I like her.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, I like her too. I feel like we have mostly the same opinions about people.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
I've yet to diverge with you today Here we go. Do you like Mamma Mia?
Joey Kamasta
I don't necessarily. Not like I never saw the movie. I know this.
Claudia Oshry
I know like the, the songs and the thing is, like, I like the Mamma Mia songs. That's my favorite part. But those are just ABBA songs.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
So it's not even like they didn't. The thing that I like is not even theirs.
Joey Kamasta
True that.
Claudia Oshry
So I could just listen to abba. I like abba. Do you like abba?
Joey Kamasta
I do. I think that's. It's a feelgood jam.
Claudia Oshry
I totally agree. It's always vibe is.
Joey Kamasta
Was it a cult? Doesn't sound like it's. There wasn't like like 50 people, 15 people in the band.
Claudia Oshry
So there is an ABBA documentary that I think talks about the dark sides of abba.
Joey Kamasta
Dark sided.
Claudia Oshry
But I think they also got their start on Eurovision.
Joey Kamasta
Are they European? They're Greece.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I think there's Like Swedish. Are they Swedish then they came from Eurovision, which is crazy.
Joey Kamasta
What a tangled web we weave.
Claudia Oshry
Right? Isn't that just not.
Joey Kamasta
I, I didn't know about that. But I, I, I just knew there was something. I'm clairvoyant in that way. I knew there was something taboo about it.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. Oh, taboo. I don't know. Taboo. Let me search. Abacult. Abacult.
Joey Kamasta
Were they all brothers and sisters or were they all sleeping together? Something. All married. Something was going on there. There.
Claudia Oshry
Oh. Everything you need to know about this Swedish cult classic, abba. No, but then Arnada cult. Oh. Torment of the ABBA star with a Nazi father.
Joey Kamasta
I didn't know any. That's not what I, I, I thought there was just a little menage trois going on. I don't think about the Nazis.
Claudia Oshry
No. But there's definitely a documentary. I'm pretty sure it was referenced in the season of Summer House. Craig told Paige to watch it. It was about the dangers of touring. Right. I think that I'm getting that right. Right. Our fifth and final story. A little TV news. The real House Eyes of London cast is here. Now, don't be like me. I did confuse this with Ladies of London cast. No. Ladies of London. Did you ever watch Ladies of London? Greatest television ever made.
Joey Kamasta
Very good.
Claudia Oshry
They announced a few weeks ago they're bringing it back.
Joey Kamasta
They're now they're everyone, these housewives. It's getting themselves into like, you know, strange territory because, like, if I was a Lady of London, I'd be like, what the hell? What's wrong with us? Why are you bringing a whole other cast of characters in here? Renew our show.
Claudia Oshry
And they did.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, they both have shows now.
Claudia Oshry
They're both having shows. So now we're having Real Houses of London. A good old fashioned tea party cast by. Hi, you. And the cast is out. And it's interesting for one reason. And then we're waiting on Ladies of London cast. But they already said Ladies of London is going to be all new people. Now I'm holding out hope that there'll be some familiar faces, however.
Joey Kamasta
So Stanberry going to jump to the new housewife.
Claudia Oshry
She lives in Dubai.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, she's not a London lady. She sounds.
Claudia Oshry
She was a lady of London. Yeah, she crushed it. Fan favorite.
Joey Kamasta
Then a Housewife of Dubai.
Claudia Oshry
Then she moved to Dubai with her husband at the time, Jem. They divorced. She still lives in Dubai with her new husband Sergio. And she's on Real Housewives of Dubai, which I think is not coming back. I think it's not working. So it's time to move back to London. Caroline Stanbury, she's also like an aristocrat, like a British aristocrat.
Joey Kamasta
I like watching her.
Claudia Oshry
I love her. She's one of my favorite reality TV stars ever. And now there's To London ladies shows for ladies in London. Oh, and she needs to be on one of them. And there's no show in Dubai at the moment.
Joey Kamasta
Why not? Jump the pond?
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I think her whole family is in London. She's like from there. She has history. She's like tied to the royal family.
Joey Kamasta
And association wise, I think that's what people are going to be expecting because like again, I didn't know both shows or both franchises were greenlit again for season two. But I now that I know I would want her to be part of that in some capacity because otherwise it's not as familiar for me.
Claudia Oshry
Me as well. But what's interesting is Real Houses of London cast is announced and the one name that we do know and is familiar is Juliet Angus. Remember Juliet? She had the King Charles Cavaliers.
Joey Kamasta
Oh yes.
Claudia Oshry
She's the American, like the chatty American. But then her and Caroline wound up being unlikely friends.
Joey Kamasta
I think that. Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
And she's an influencer now. She does like, she's a full time content creator so she'll be great.
Joey Kamasta
I'm interested to see what the, the ladies, the Housewives of London are going to be. I have a feeling they're going to be a little bit grittier than you would expect. When you hear London, you think, you know, high society, rich tea ladies, like, you know, ties to the royal family being blah, blah, blah. I think it's gonna be a little bit more Soho, Piccadilly. Is that, is that London Piccadilly?
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, that sounds right.
Joey Kamasta
Or something like that. I think it's gonna be a little bit more like, you know, like rock and roll ish. Or like, like, you know, like a little bit more like like a, a grungy fashion designer.
Claudia Oshry
Interesting.
Joey Kamasta
Maybe someone who worked for Vivian Westwood or like something like that. And as opposed to very proper cheap.
Claudia Oshry
Paul, that was like Annabelle on Ladies of London. Remember her? She was McQueen's mus away.
Joey Kamasta
Right.
Claudia Oshry
Rest in peace.
Joey Kamasta
So I think I have a feeling that it's gonna be a little younger. It's gonna skew a little bit like Rony. But like the London version, I think that's what they've been trying to do and it flopped. I think for me and Ronnie.
Claudia Oshry
Flopped. Yeah.
Joey Kamasta
I mean Jenna, Jenna can do no wrong in my Eyes. But like the rest of the gals, I think it just wasn't the right thing.
Claudia Oshry
It's fair to say. Yeah, it's fair to say we can call that one.
Joey Kamasta
But I'm excited to see what that's happening. And I. I mean, this is not on the topic board, but I'm excited to see what's going on with Rhode Island.
Claudia Oshry
Right. Whispers.
Joey Kamasta
Rhode Island's having. It's their moment, I think, feel. I feel like it's gonna be the new. Like, remember when New Jersey was like the hottest chicken in town? That everything was, you know, the Sopranos and the Housewives. New Jersey and then Jersey Shore. It was like it was a whole.
Claudia Oshry
What else is happening in Rhode Island? Or you think this is going to be the beginning of something?
Joey Kamasta
I feel it's gonna be the beginning of something new.
Claudia Oshry
Oh, I like that. I feel like that's a pocket of the country that we haven't seen on television.
Joey Kamasta
Right. I think there's a lot to be seen there because it's a lot of. Everyone thinks Rhode island is like, there's a huge Italian American community there. I think that's what they're focusing on.
Claudia Oshry
I've seen pictures and a little bit of bios of some of the presumed ladies who.
Joey Kamasta
From there.
Claudia Oshry
So you think it will be like Pauly D's?
Joey Kamasta
I don't think it'll be that. I think it'll be. I think it'll be. As opposed to like what you would think about, like, it'd be like, you think right on anything. Gingham and coastal gingham and like lobster bakes and clam and clam hydrangeas and white picket fences. I think it's going to be more Holiday house. I think it's going to be more that. That focusing on that kind of like Italian American culture that's over there.
Claudia Oshry
Interesting. Well, I'm. I'm excited. I always love a new housewives franchise. Like Kumsa Fresh, as we say. Like, like, new is good.
Joey Kamasta
I'm learning so many Yiddish words today.
Claudia Oshry
You are. I usually don't speak this much Yiddish. Especially, like, not, you know, that I'm.
Joey Kamasta
Aware of the world. That's why.
Claudia Oshry
Probably. Yeah. And as you said, like, you're a little bit Italian or a little bit Irish. Now you're a little Yid.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, There we go.
Claudia Oshry
Little Yiddle. Joey Kamari. So Real Houses of London. Okay. The other people. In case anyone listening knows who these people are, I personally don't. Panthea Parker. Karen Lotterick. Peace. Amanda Cronin, Nessie Welshinger, and Juliet May. Who? Which is the only name that I'm like, do we know that person?
Joey Kamasta
You know, Nessie Hollinger?
Claudia Oshry
I don't know Nessie. Do you know Nessie?
Joey Kamasta
No, I don't any of them here.
Claudia Oshry
I'm looking at one of them on Instagram. Julia. Let's see if she's, like, what we're looking for. For. She seems to be what we're looking for. Oh, you know, she's got the housewife. Instagram.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. Just a topless man. She's got, you know, like, florals. I see. I see tapered candles, a chandelier that has everything we need. I need to get an iPad. I think my phone. I'm getting so old that my phone is getting too small for me to see.
Claudia Oshry
Interesting. Do you have the biggest phone that they make?
Joey Kamasta
I have the biggest phone they make, but I do want to get the biggest iPad they make soon for, like.
Claudia Oshry
Carpal tunnel, though, when you're holding the iPad. I only use my iPad for this show. Really?
Joey Kamasta
And it's so professional.
Claudia Oshry
It is. I don't want to be on my phone. I don't like being on my phone. That's, like, very Boomer of me. I do everything on my computer. Not even on my iPad.
Joey Kamasta
There we go.
Claudia Oshry
Like, I can't answer your email until I'm at my computer. Sorry.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, there you go.
Claudia Oshry
Apologies.
Joey Kamasta
You like to type.
Claudia Oshry
This email finds me at my computer.
Joey Kamasta
You went to Katherine Gibbs?
Claudia Oshry
What's that?
Joey Kamasta
It's like a school. Like a trade school for, like. For secretaries.
Claudia Oshry
Beacon teaches that.
Joey Kamasta
The secretary school?
Claudia Oshry
No, it's a computer program. It's 90s kid. But you're 80s. 70.
Joey Kamasta
79.
Claudia Oshry
It was like 90s kids learned computer typing skills with Mavis. Beacon teaches typing. Did you play Oregon Trail?
Joey Kamasta
I don't think is that. I know what that is.
Claudia Oshry
You probably know what it is.
Joey Kamasta
It's a. It's a. The Green and Black game.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, it's a computer game that showed us how travelers were on the Oregon Trail. I. I think you know who actually created that game?
Joey Kamasta
Whom?
Claudia Oshry
Mr. Wonderful. Kevin O' Leary.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, get out of here. Yeah, I was supposed to have a podcast with him one day.
Claudia Oshry
Like, do an episode with him.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, he's supposed to come on, but then it got canceled last minute.
Claudia Oshry
You guys would be so great together.
Joey Kamasta
Can you.
Claudia Oshry
Can you circle back?
Joey Kamasta
Maybe we'll circle back.
Claudia Oshry
Make it happen. The world needs that.
Joey Kamasta
What are your thoughts on Bethenny Frankel?
Claudia Oshry
Oh, wait, I. I think She's.
Joey Kamasta
I'm enjoying her, her, her, her. Her newfound voice. Yeah. Or just her like her influencing.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. I think it's fine.
Joey Kamasta
I trust her opinion.
Claudia Oshry
I've always liked her anytime she was a housewife. Like not even just dogmatically, Like I always. Just with her. I think she's like a very sensible, logical person. Also, like funny and smart and a lot of her newfound speaking stuff was like going down on TikTok a lot and I don't have TikTok, so I, I missed a lot of it.
Joey Kamasta
Oh, that's right.
Claudia Oshry
But then recently I followed her on Instagram. I forget, like, what was the impetus? And it's enjoyable. She has got a lot going on.
Joey Kamasta
She does. She always has great recommendations, good restaurant things. And she gives it. She, she shoots it to you straight.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah, she does. And she's like, she, you know, no one owns her, so her opinions are really her own.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
Is what I find. And like, it's not like she, like when she promotes a product like that she loves, it's like she doesn't need the money, she just actually likes the product. At least, at least it seems that way then. I just want to talk about Summer House. Cuz Reading in Part one aired last night and I know you're friends with a lot of the Summer House people, but you don't watch.
Joey Kamasta
I haven't watched a full, like full episode. Partly because I'm jealous and I'm not on it.
Claudia Oshry
You would be great.
Joey Kamasta
A lot of times I don't watch shows because of that. It's like, like the Traders. Like if, if the Traders had podcasts instead of like all these reality stars, I would fucking crush the traitors.
Claudia Oshry
You would. You need to get on a reality show just to get on, like to be eligible for those alum shows.
Joey Kamasta
That's what I gotta do. I gotta, I gotta start doing like, maybe I'll go on RuPaul's Drag Race.
Claudia Oshry
Or is there anything like with Jersey Shore that you could get?
Joey Kamasta
I mean, I'm Jim moonlight on the Jersey Shore. I'm there. I'm there all the time. So they can.
Claudia Oshry
Because you're big with mtv.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah. So there's a few, you know, the next few seasons. They filmed so many seasons. Next few seasons I'll be popping up here and there, but I don't think it's enough to give me a credited spot on the Traders.
Claudia Oshry
Understood.
Joey Kamasta
You need a couple more hours, but yes, Summer House. You know, I love Paige Sorbo and you know, I've met Craig you said.
Claudia Oshry
You'Re friends with West?
Joey Kamasta
West I met. You know, I'm not quite tight friends, though. I met him a couple times, and we're. We're friendly online stuff, so, yeah, classic.
Claudia Oshry
I've never met him, but I actually. So reading in part one was enjoyable. Nothing like, major happened. Just like, some converse. Nothing moved the needle in terms of. Terms of, like, what the drama on the show, but just people were sharing.
Joey Kamasta
Are they in the same house every year?
Claudia Oshry
They're in the same house every year. And I actually had a thought last night, which is that, like, summer house could really take place anywhere on earth. Like, it doesn't have to be in the Hamptons. They don't leave the house. It's just like, you come to, like, they sometimes go to a club or something, but they can't really bring the cameras. The town of the Hamptons doesn't really like them filming in the Hamptons, so they really are relegated to this house. So it's like, why don't you just get a house somewhere else and you could have an even bigger house with, like, more things going on.
Joey Kamasta
Rhode Island.
Claudia Oshry
It's like Jersey Shore showed us the shore. Like, you would go to Jersey Shore as a tourist, like, to have the Jersey Shore experience. We're going to Karma. We're going to the T shirt shop. Like, there were the spots. The boardwalk, like, it showed Summer House, like, has no neighborhood.
Joey Kamasta
Like, there's nothing I'm surprised about. So I would think that that's what would get the draw. I mean, I know the character cast of characters is fabulous and the drama's great, but I would think that everyone that, you know, Hampton's such a niche thing in New York that like. Like a lot of people, like, only hear about the hams. They don't really know what it's like. I think if they. I. They showed, like, you know, what the restaurants are, what it's like to, like, go to the beach. Or, like, you're getting.
Claudia Oshry
Trying to get surface going to the beach, them bringing, lugging their chairs. Doesn't look glam. They don't show us, like, walking down Main street, getting a coffee. People just, like, sneak out.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
And it's like they rent in south. Which is the most expensive Hampton. It's like, okay, I understand you want to go to the Hamptons because that's what people in New York do. So, like, what they're not going to. To go upstate every weekend, but, like, get a house in quag, like, get something closer to the city. I don't know why you have to be in Southampton. We're not seeing anything about Southampton, even though it doesn't matter at this point. It was just something I noted. Whereas, like, there's nothing Hamptons about this show.
Joey Kamasta
And is there, is there a relationship drama? Is anyone sleeping with anyone in the cast?
Claudia Oshry
So, yeah. So this season, Lexi, who was on the toast yesterday, stunning girl. Stunning, beautiful girl inside and out. It was her first season on the show and she, like, made a very quick connection with Jesse Solomon, who's West's best friend, who. It's his second season, like, immediately sparks flew. It reminded me a lot of Jersey Shore. Like, Sam, it's a bad example. But like Sam and Ron, that's what made the show so good was like a bunch of people and like, there were a couple people who like, really connected and like, that's what's great reality television when you're in a share house. And so the whole season is about like their relationship there. Like really hot and heavy, really fast. But, like, he's not ready for a relationship and isn't acting right all the time. And by the end of the summer, they do break up. But that is the core drama of the summer.
Joey Kamasta
And what does Paige get into? She just gives the one liners and, and, and, and just gives the sass pretty much.
Claudia Oshry
So last season, like, she was still with Craig, he came to the house one time for a weekend, which we're used to at this point.
Joey Kamasta
He's from Southern Charm, not Southern House. Summer house.
Claudia Oshry
He's from Southern Charm, Correct. Charleston.
Joey Kamasta
That's right.
Claudia Oshry
So but her relationship, they're still together over the summer, so it's a lot about, like, how she's feeling in the relationship.
Joey Kamasta
Does he come on the show?
Claudia Oshry
He does. And every year that they've been together. No, because it's lover boy taboo. They would block it out. Everything on the show is lover boy. And we have drama.
Joey Kamasta
I know, I know the drama.
Claudia Oshry
It's funny to like, watch the show and I'm like, oh, that's like, I have beef here. But that's kind of good that you don't watch a show because, like, if you have like, friends with the cast, it's like weird if you're watching your show.
Joey Kamasta
Well, the thing is, also I'm very good friends with Hannah Burner and I had no idea. I knew she was on the show, but I didn't know there was a scandal about her, like, getting, getting. I don't know. She got kicked off her fire. Something happened, happen.
Claudia Oshry
She got pushed out allegedly. Because I had no idea. A brand deal with Truly. And then Loverboy is like, they run the show.
Joey Kamasta
Lover Boy is problematic. It sounds like.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. They're just, like, there's enough space for everyone.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah.
Claudia Oshry
And, like, it's not like Lover. So Lover Boy is on every single episode, hands in hand all the time. All they drink is Lover Boy.
Joey Kamasta
Is that. Is that now a summer house as a whole owns that or one. One.
Claudia Oshry
So one cast member does. I don't know if Bravo owns any of it, because I remember after Bethany, like, now Bravo owns, like, a piece of any brand that launches on the show. So I don't know what Bravo's involvement is. But, like, they don't let really. He doesn't really let anyone bring anything else into the house. Like, the whole. Every party is stocked by, like, cases on cases. Like. And why would you even need something else, may I ask?
Joey Kamasta
Islam is. I see Lemonade promoted on. On Southern Charm of Spritz.
Claudia Oshry
It's in, like, Craig, if he's having the backyard barbecue. Like, it's the. But it's not like, the whole show.
Joey Kamasta
Yeah, but Rob was not taking a cut of your sales.
Claudia Oshry
No.
Joey Kamasta
Good.
Claudia Oshry
Yeah. So I think sometimes they blur it out. I don't know what that's about. We've signed releases. Like, go ahead.
Joey Kamasta
Who knew the canned cocktail world was so intertwined?
Claudia Oshry
There's so much drama in this world. This all went down, like, a year ago, but, yeah, it's just sort of like cold war, colder cocktails.
Joey Kamasta
True. Dad, I'm gonna go to Target after this.
Claudia Oshry
I'm doing a lot of things after this.
Joey Kamasta
If I. If I. If I show the picture of me and you to the lady at Target, will I get a free case?
Claudia Oshry
Oh, my God. I gotta get you a free case. I'll get you some Spritz today.
Joey Kamasta
Can you send me some lemonade iced tea or the pink one? I'll take any flavor.
Claudia Oshry
Okay.
Joey Kamasta
I had pickle before. I don't eat that anymore. I still have some left.
Claudia Oshry
I'm cracking up. Lemon iced tea and pink lemonade are on their way to you today. I'll tell the boys Joey needs some. He's got big plans.
Joey Kamasta
I do. Great weekend plans.
Claudia Oshry
Well, thank you so much for participating.
Joey Kamasta
Thank you for having me. I'm always happy to come on anytime you need me to come on.
Claudia Oshry
Always happy to have you.
Joey Kamasta
You need me to fill in at home and watch the kids or, you.
Claudia Oshry
Know, that would be fun.
Joey Kamasta
Pick up a meal for the famous.
Claudia Oshry
I do need you to cook me a meal.
Joey Kamasta
Okay, good. Maybe we'll make a Reuben.
Claudia Oshry
Maybe you will. Well, thank you guys so much for watching. I hope you've enjoyed this episode. Joey. Where can everyone follow you, listen to you, keep up with you?
