Good morning, girlies. It's the Toast. It's Jackson Claude and we're your host. It's your favorite show, the best five.
B
Things you need to know.
A
We'll start your day off swirly.
B
It's the Toast.
A
They sound amazing. Welcome back to the Toast. Happy Monday. Monday's post Super Bowl Monday. I'm with Olivia Ashre, AKA Trout Skin.
B
Totally. And by the way, can we just do one for old times sake? Like, go like. I was waiting for that, you know?
A
You know, times have changed around here.
B
No, I know, but it's so nostalgic for me, you know, for sure.
A
Do you want to hit them with the good?
B
Yeah. Ready? One.
A
Together or just you Together? Of course.
B
By myself. Embarrassing. Ready? One, two, three. Good morning, millennials.
A
Hi, everyone. Hi, Trout Skin. Welcome to the toast.
B
Thank you so much for having me. This is my favorite place on earth.
A
You know, Olivia's filling in for Claudia today. Claudia had something come up this morning and I was like, trout, you're up. Today is such an exciting day of toast because we have super bowl recap and you're a great girly to have for our super bowl post show recap because you're the marketer.
B
Yeah, I am, I am.
A
And you, like, dabble in football.
B
I dabble.
A
You dabble. You have knowledge.
B
I have knowledge. I have knowledge. Yeah.
A
And we all watch super bowl together at my house. Last night.
B
You did an amazing job. It was a love. Well, it was a lovely day, you.
A
Know, we had a great day. Well, okay, first of all, I just want to say the super bowl being at 6:30pm like, never been place, it was so not it. I expected that it would be like late afternoon. So I was like, oh, we're going to be home all day, like preparing for the Super Bowl. The kids will be home like, so I got a bouncy house for the backyard so that they could bounce all afternoon and we could like watch the game and they could be bouncing and it would be like so much fun. But like, the bouncy house left by the time the game actually started.
B
But it was great, which inadvertently worked out.
A
Did work out. And plus the kids love to watch football, so it. It did work out. But when I thought to have like a bouncy house, it was because I thought we would be watching football like all day, which didn't happen. We didn't watch football till like, what would be their bedtime ordinarily?
B
You know what's crazy? It's just like, it's wild how big of a difference that one hour makes. Because I feel like normally the super bowl starts maybe like closer to 5:30. And this was starting like 6:30ish. And like that one hour, you know, people call it witching hour, but like, for a reason. It was just like we were sort of like waiting for the game to start. And it was like, do you eat dinner? But like, you should wait.
A
But we've also been eating all day. Like eating all day. So like, what's dinner even? It was just. I really feel like for the parents, it was not mama friendly. It was the time.
B
And that's what I actually, that was a big thing that I.
A
And I saw like other mamas saying this as well. So I don't even think we're just like alone in that. Our own experience. And the. The game was on my house, like the entire time we had a Super bowl watching. I wouldn't say it was a party, but a gathering. A gathering, yeah.
B
But by the way, when you have. I did not watch more kids than adults. It's not going to be a part.
A
I did not watch one minute of the game until the last quarter when everyone was finally in bed. I had showered, I got in bed, and I watched the end of the super bowl, like by myself in bed.
B
I was gonna say I really didn't watch that much of the game either. Also, the game wasn't interesting enough for people to really, I think, like, dedicate. Like, there wasn't that much going on. The score was so low the whole time. So it's just like, oh, you knew that, like, honestly, you could get up and like, tend to your kid or get a snack or go to the bathroom. Because, like, what was even going on.
A
At the, like, three bath times, three bedtimes all during the course of the Super Bowl? Like, that was my super bowl bedtime. Last night was my Super Bowl.
B
A hundred percent. 100%.
A
Well, we're gonna talk all things super bowl halftime show, ads, openers, Charlie Puth. Charlie. He crushed it, you know, he really did.
B
So did Coco Jones.
A
Oh, amazingly beautiful. We will recap all of that in our stories. Of course. Super bowl will be first story. So before we get into the stories, which, like, we'll do in a timely fashion because that's sort of the new.
B
That's like what people want to hear. What we have to.
A
Yeah, but I can't just like, over the fact that Trout is in studio. How are you, dear Trout?
B
Dear Trout is doing so great. My darling. How are you?
A
I'm good. It was really hard for me to, like, introduce you as Olivia Ashray, by.
B
The way, I saw like, that come out of your mouth, like, awkwardly, you know, but it's like when your kids call me Olivia, but it's very awkward for me to hear. I'm like, whose name is that?
A
But, like, people are listening. And if I just like, lead with Trout, it could be their first day of listening to the toast. And they don't know what child is. It could also be their fifth year. And they still don't know that, like, Trout is Olivia. So I had to, like, address you by your legal name.
B
But it's Trout by my legal name. I always come on the toast and I say, and I really mean this when I say it, like, you guys are growing so fast that I feel like every time I come on here, like, people don't even know about the other sister, you know, and it is me. Olivia. Trout says no, but Margo, people know, you know. Oh, you think she's like an influencing.
A
Queen, you know, like the hidden sister.
B
No, I'm not saying I'm hidden. I'm just saying I think people more. More times than not, I feel like when people find out, like, there's another sister, the other. It's like me, like, oh, you have another one.
A
Oh, that's so interesting. I don't feel that way. But that's, you know, this is your lived experience. Like, that's your truth. I'm not gonna take that.
B
No, like, the real ones know, you know, but as you're growing so fast, everyone knows. As you're growing so fast, people are just like, oh, who's that girl? Who's the fish?
A
You know, this is your first day of toast. Claudia and I are sisters. I think that's always a big shocker.
B
Totally.
A
And we are two out of four sisters. Yep. We are the two middle children. Classic. Olivia's our.
B
But you are older than Claudia, and I feel like a lot of people don't know that either.
A
Olivia, Jackie, Claudia, and then Margot, who's snitch. AKA Sachi.
B
Right. And she's like.
A
And Olivia thinks you all have already knew that.
B
That I. I do. And Ben is Claudia's husband, Boy with no job, celebrity chef, boy with no.
A
Job, and girl with no job. They both have jobs, though.
B
I'm so happy to be here, though, you know?
A
Yeah.
B
It's just always such a fun time.
A
It is a fun time.
B
And I haven't co hosted the toast with you in a while.
A
Since Claudia's maternity leave.
B
I was here. I was here Claudia and Ben, we did the first ever, like, non Jackie and Claudia episode, which was incredibly well received. So thank you. We had so much fun that day, too.
A
Yeah. What was that day?
B
Claudia had something and you were on maternity leave. She was sick, maybe.
A
No, I think I was. I, like, literally was giving birth that day. She was sick. Yes. And I was on maternity leave already. And I think I went through to, like, I had my doctor's appointment that morning that, like, eventually put me into the process of labor.
B
Got it. Got it. Yeah. I don't remember what, like, I couldn't.
A
Do, because if I was just on my maternity leave before I gave birth, like, I could have just stunned the toast. But no, I think I was out of commission.
B
Oh, I remember something about it, actually. Something about it was. It was November, early November.
A
Yeah.
B
That's when all of the stories were about, like, November 3rd. Because that was like, when Kraft Heinz, like, came out with some weird, like. And I said something like, November 3rd, big day. And everybody read into it, and they were like, that was Date Jackie had her baby. And I'm like, no, it's just like, November 3rd came up in a bunch of stories.
A
People think we, like, leave so many, like, clues.
B
Like, we're literally, like. I mean, I can only speak for myself. I shouldn't say we, like, way too lazy to think about, like, leaving a fucking hint anywhere about anything, you know?
A
Yeah.
B
Just, like, going about living our lives.
A
Yeah. Just more so going about living our lives.
B
I think people are just also so accustomed to trying to read into everything, thinking it means more than it actually does.
A
Yeah.
B
When, like, I'm just here to tell you, like, my life, it means not.
A
It's, like, paranoia, I think, which. And sometimes, like, that. We were talking about that when Claudia did Masked Singer.
B
Yeah.
A
Because of course, like, people realized that it was Claudia, and. But then they also felt like on the. On Wednesdays, that was the day Masked Singer was airing. And I was doing. Claudia usually does the ads, but the last few Wednesdays, I was doing the ads without Claudia. And they thought it was because, like, Claudia couldn't do the ads on days where masked singers aired.
B
Seriously. Not that serious like that.
A
More so she was rushing to a music class. So I just, like, did them so that she could get out of here earlier.
B
You know what I mean? Of course. Of course. And that's the thing is, like, that's why you can't assume, because you make an ass out of you and me.
A
Thank you. That's really beautiful.
B
Leave you with that other Than that.
A
It was a beautiful weekend. Olivia took us all to her favorite farmer's market.
B
Yes, I did. And honestly, everybody really had a great time.
A
They did. You and Ben were thriving.
B
You like the farmer's market. I feel like sometimes it just, like, also you have a new baby, but, like, it just hasn't always, like, jived with your schedule, you know, I haven't.
A
Been to the farmer's market in a while, and I remember when I was going to the farmer's market, like, more often, like a year, like, when I.
B
Was forcing you to come with me every weekend.
A
Yeah, I remember. I would talk about it a lot on the toast. Just like, the. The. The inner conflict I feel at the farmer's market. And when I was back there this weekend, I felt it again because it's really hard for me to, like, want to consume things from, like, people's personal kitchens. By the way, I said people I don't know, by the way.
B
Do you remember that I said that on an episode of the Toast? It's like, if people knew you, like, back in the day, like, you were the girl that, like, really only ate stuff that was, like, packaged up and sealed. Like, you would never, like, eat something that was, like, homemade. Like, that used to be like that. And now you're sort of. You make everything, you know, from scratch and whatnot.
A
But it's different. I still feel like, who is this stranger? What goes on in their kitchen? Like, it's not, you know, like, it's incredibly fair. You know, the farmer's market, they aren't like, regulated, right?
B
No, a lot of them are not. And it says it on there. Like, it'll say, like, this was made in, like, somebody's house. You know, Like, I bought a jam once, and it was so tasty. And then I looked at the label, and it was like, I. I actually should look up, like, the exact verbiage. But it basically said that, like, this is not made. This is not made with any oversight whatsoever, you know?
A
Yeah. And when it's your friend or your family, it's like, oh, well, I trust this person. I've seen them wash their hands.
B
Yeah. The thing about the farmer's market is that it is the same vendors week over week over week. That I do feel like if somebody had, God forbid, gotten sick or there was an issue. Do you know what I mean?
A
It would get sicker. It's an. There would be an issue. Like, I just think it could be yucky, and you would never know.
B
It could be. But, like. But your Body is handling it fine.
A
Yeah, no, no, not about getting sick, but just about, like, the yuckiness.
B
But there are so many things are yucky, you know? Yes.
A
And there are things at the farmer's market that like. Like the produce.
B
The produce and the eggs, like, amazing. And that is predominantly.
A
I remember I bought, like, I bought eggs from farm. What are they there? Like, farm fresh eggs.
B
The blue eggs.
A
Yeah. I remember last year, like, I bought eggs from the farmer's market. I don't know if I ever use them. And they just, like, sat at my. Sat on my counter staring at me because I was like, I don't know what's in these eggs. Like, who is this farmer?
B
But that's. Any deer farmer, dear. Farmer is probably better.
A
No other eggs have oversight, but.
B
But that oversight, I feel like it's also not worse, you know? No, no.
A
That's why there's that one guy at the farmer's market.
B
He has a bakery, and he used to have a storefront, and then, like, now he just does the farmer's market circuit. So I'm like, I feel like your baked goods are, like, legit, because you understand, he probably cooks in a commercial kitchen. His pastries are delicious, you know, But I'm predominantly going for.
A
You just have to sort of, like, have faith, like.
B
Yeah.
A
Or give it all up.
B
I get, like, funny, like, things that are just maybe like, in jars or bottles, you know? Does that make a difference?
A
No, I know, but. So you agree, like, there's an element.
B
Of sus thousand percent.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah.
A
And so I was remembering, like, my inner conflict on the suspiciousness, but, like.
B
I personally am not the type of person that's, like, buying ceviche at the farmer's market. Do you know what I mean? Like, there is a line that I draw, you know, I understand there's, like, pastries, things in bottles. Like, I. Ben also really liked the barbecue sauce guy. Like, I own some of his barbecue sauces. My honey, like, the honey is the best from the farmer's market. I feel like people see me use it all the time, and, like, it's kind of pricey. So, like, I feel like, you know, he's working really hard to, like, suck that honey out of the bees. Do you know what I mean? I'm like, oh, I'm going to support this local business.
A
Yeah. Have you heard that old adage, like, you can't eat in everybody's kitchen?
B
No, but I. Sure you have.
A
Yeah. Like, it's like a saying. Like, I. I want to get the. It's so funny.
B
Why? Because everybody's yucky.
A
Yeah. Eat everybody's kitchen. Yeah. You can eat at everybody's house.
B
Yeah. I will also say that's how I feel like, being outside. Like, everybody. There's music.
A
Oh, I was there for the vibes. No, like, yeah, And I was there for the vibes. And you were like, oh, go. Your eggs are here. I'm like, I can't carry eggs. Like, I'm. Have a baby shop. To me, Like, I'm here for, like, we're not shopping.
B
And I love that for you.
A
Yeah. No, the vibes were high. We had a great time. We went out to lunch. It was just like, a beautiful day.
B
A beautiful day. We had the best time. I agree. And the weather has been so fabulous. I know it's, like, hard to say that because, you know, the weather is not so nice in other places in the country, but down here.
A
Yeah.
B
Our favorite magical. Our favorite time of year.
A
And then rolling into Super Bowl Sunday. Super bounce.
B
I mean, yesterday was a busy day. Like, the kids went from, like, a birthday party and, like, whatnot to, like, bounce bowl at Jackie O's.
A
That's what we called it. We called a bounce bowl.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Feel free to use that.
B
No, honestly, feel free to get a bouncy house and, like, let the kids roam free while the parents, like, nosh watch. And we were also, like, quasi watching, like, Olympics. Like, it was actually, like, a pretty relaxing.
A
Yeah. I was hoping to play a little maj, but we didn't get around to it. And that's okay because I already was, like, overwhelmed.
B
Yeah, well, you had a lot going.
A
On in your house, like, hosting. There was so much food, and, like.
B
Anytime Ben, like, makes anything, he just, like, makes his mess. So, like, you got to clean up after.
A
And I started it, and I forgot to empty the dishwasher before everyone came over, so there was a full dishwasher of clean dishes. So nobody, like, emptied it. And everyone just, like I had a.
B
Couple of times had heard, like, is this clean? I'm like, I have no idea. Go ask Jackie.
A
Like, I. That was.
B
Hand wash is your worst nightmare.
A
Yeah, Everyone, like, hand washes it and.
B
Leaves his husband hand wash all your plates on Thanksgiving.
A
And then I put them in the dishwasher after everyone left. I'm sorry, but those plates, and they were the turkey plates. I'm not going to use them again for a year.
B
I think I thought that, like, they weren't, like, they were too nice to go in the dishwasher, too.
A
No, no, no.
B
You do have a lot of nice stuff that everyone.
A
Everyone was, like, trying to be helpful, and you can only put so much stuff in the dishwasher. But I was like, it's worth, you know, doing multiple.
B
You can only put so much in the dishwasher. When Ben Soffer is making a dish in your house. He and him. By the way, his cowboy caviar was delicious.
A
It's so good.
B
It took him two hours to make with every utensil in Jackie's house.
A
Yeah. Yeah. If I had known.
B
Shout out to Ben, we love you.
A
Yeah. No, and shout out to his cowboy caviar. Everyone loves it.
B
It's so good. And honestly, I. Everybody loves us. I wasn't gonna, like, say that I was skeptical, but, like, honey chipotle, like, just not usually my vibe, you know, it was the process I did, and I was very glad that I did.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
So it was a tasty, yummy weekend. Let's get into the stories. We're gonna talk all about the super bowl. The super bowl self. And without further ado. Da doo da do. It is time for the fast five stories that you that do need to know.
B
Ow.

B
I have to say, just talking about what we were talking about before, like, my cup is not any inclination about, like, who I was rooting for, whatnot. But I actually will say I loved that the super bowl was like battle of the bruise, you know, Battle of the bruise.
A
So Super Bowl 2026, Seahawks dominate Patriots for a second championship. So who were you rooting for?
B
So I was rooting for the Patriots, actually. Um, and in the battle of the bruise, that was actually really hard for me because, you know, I ride harder than most for Starbucks. Like, I'm a Starbucks girly. But I just feel like I, you know, I have a deep appreciation for Robert Kraft in my heart, even though that super bowl ad was an abomination. We can talk about that, but I.
A
Honestly, I don't want to talk about it because it's too upsetting.
B
Okay, so we won't talk about it.
A
Like, I mean, like, general just like, it's such. It's so not the vibe.
B
I also, like, I love Drake May I love Ann Michael. I love, like, watching her cooking videos. Like, I was just rooting for them. I also, like, I didn't have, like, a real stake in the game, but, like, if I had to pick somebody, I was going New England. I also felt like, because, like, we are east coasters. Like, it was an east coast versus west coast battle. Like, I'm an east coaster, you know?
A
Yeah.
B
Not that I didn't. And then there were, like, such cute stories of people coming out from the Seahawks Sam Darnold used to be on the Jets. Like, why couldn't you make a go of it when you were on the Jets? But whatever, you know? Like, I just.
A
Why couldn't you get to the super bowl with the Jets? Sharks versus Jets.
B
Our dad would have loved that.
A
Okay, a Sharks vs Jets Super bowl is what I'm looking for.
B
What does that mean?
A
It's so great that you asked that. I feel like you're speaking for the people. Claudia can't talk about the jets without saying Sharks versus Jets. There's like a. A podunk Bring it on remake. Like, the seventh one.
B
God, that's, like, too niche for me.
A
And I think a lot of people are probably really grateful for the clarification today. But, yes, I think Bring it on seven was two different rival cheerleading teams, you know, the Sharks and the Jets.
B
Some of the shit you guys say, it's like, it's only. It's so wild to me that, like, you and I are only like, a year and a half apart and Claudia and I are three years apart, and, like, we all grew up in the same house because, like, what the. Were you guys watching? And, like, where was I? You know?
A
I don't know. I don't think you stuck around for Sharks.
B
So many things. Like, there's that other, like, education, Disney song, education connection. That was not a part of my life.
A
That's surprising.
B
No, like, a lot of those things that you guys talk about, I'm like, huh.
A
Maybe that was when you were, like, locking us out of your room.
B
I don't think so.
A
With your friends?
B
I don't think so.
A
Listening to awesome Shooters and.
B
No, like, I was, like, literally watching.
A
Do you know that one?
B
Yes. I was, like, watching 7th Heaven. I don't know. Like, you guys were, like, down for the Disney Channel, you know?
A
That's true. You weren't. You're not Hannah Montana. No, I'm not Jonas Brothers.
B
No, I'm not Camp.
A
You might be a little bit the camp rocket. Are you a little Lizzie McGuire?
B
I am Lizzie McGuire.
A
Lizzie is your year. Because I'm like.
B
And by the way, that's why, like, people my age are, like, dying over the Hillary, like, Renaissance, you know? Like, those songs really shaped our childhood.
A
Her songs did. But, like, Lizzie's self is a little, like, a year ahead of people went.
B
Abroad because, like, of her experience, you know.
A
Yeah.
B
In the Lizzie McGuire movie.
A
Yes. No. All of that. But, yeah, there is, like, a little bit of a generational gap, I guess.
B
But, like, in. How do you know What? I mean, like, we are so close together.
A
No, but that was probably like the year when you were like, locking us out of your room. Yeah. Listening to your awesome music. Like, seriously.
B
Okay, but like, I shared a room with you, you know.
A
Yeah, but I think you were kind of like, out. You had one foot out the door.
B
At that point, maybe.
A
Yeah, you were out in the world. The streets raised you.
B
I'm sure that's another toast is.
A
No, no, I said everything wrong. But I do appreciate the clarification. Okay, let's get to the entertainment. Which is why, like, we're here. Anyways, the game gamed. I don't think it was a particularly, like, good super bowl, but the teams played well because they, like, really couldn't get a point off one another.
B
Seahawks, the defense played well. The D. The offense was. I mean, the. The. The Patriots offense was really sad. Oh, your nails look so nice.
A
Oh, thank you so much. I'll give you this color. It doesn't suit me.
B
I like it.
A
I will also say, like, you know, I love to, like, talk about football as the football expert that I am, but I like, barely watched the game last night, so I. I'm not even gonna, like, offend you guys with like, my take on the football because I can admit, like, I'm uneducated as I did not watch the game until the end.
B
Yeah, it was a bad game. It was boring as hell.
A
Entertainment. So opening show. Opening. We had Charlie Puth singing the national anthem, which I was really jazzed for because I think, like Taylor Swift. I think Charlie Puth is underrated. I thought he was amazing.
B
I thought he was amazing too.
A
I was so proud of Charlie and I.
B
You know, when I used to lock you out of my room, like, I used to just watch, like renditions of videos. No, all of the national anthem, like super bowl, like that Whitney video was like so iconic for me. And I thought he just did an amazing job. Like, the production around, it was great. But then at the same time also, like, sort of simple.
A
Yeah.
B
You know, I also did feel like a little bit production wise. They like showed everybody in the audience and didn't focus enough on Charlie, but whatever his voice and just the. The choir of it all, like, I thought it was very good. A beautiful start to the game. Start to a boring game.
A
They introduced him as like a multi award winning singer and composer and I feel like the composition element was what really made this so beautiful. He is a musical genius. You know that about him.
B
No, I don't actually.
A
He has perfect Pitch. He is, like, a music theory genius. And he also has a nice voice, so he sings, but it's more. So he's more on, like, the back end of music.
B
We love back end piece.
A
And all together, it made for a really beautiful and I think, like, memorable performance. I think everybody was really impressed.
B
Yeah, totally. Also because, like, I feel like he was the type of person that, like, people weren't, like, overwhelmingly excited for or not excited for.
A
Yeah.
B
Looking forward to.
A
He had a lot. He had a lot to prove.
B
Yeah.
A
Then Coco Jones saying, lift every voice and say gorgeous.
B
Gorgeous. She looked gorgeous. It sounded gorgeous. Gorgeous. By the way, it also looked like it was like, a beautiful day in San Francisco also. I know the time opened up for everybody.
A
The time didn't work for us East Coasters, but it did work for the party vibes because even the halftime show, it wasn't fully dark out yet. It was, like, sunset. And it was so beautiful to watch.
B
I mean, I'm sure. Amazing.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. By the way, we're having a couple, like, West Coast Super Bowls for the next couple years. It's in LA next year, so Pargie for everybody there. Well, we'll get into, like, Pargie for everybody there and not Pargie for everybody at home. Because I have some thoughts on that.
A
It's in LA next year.
B
Yeah.
A
I feel like it's always in la.
B
It's in la.
A
Plus, they're getting the Olympics.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. Brandi Carlisle sang America the Beautiful. She's from Washington State, so.
B
Oh, interesting. That one was just, like, moot for me, you know? It wasn't good. It wasn't bad.
A
Yeah.
B
It's, like, not memorable the way the other song.
A
Sometimes it's just what I'm looking for. Like, sing the song, you know, sing it nicely, honestly.
B
And what I'm looking for is not a clusterfuck, you know, where it's not.
A
She's not a clusterfuck. Yeah. Don't.
B
With these, like, beautiful songs that, like, mean so much to people. Like, just sing it. And you know what? Honestly, you're right. She did that. It was great. Brandy, congrats.
A
And Green Day performed as a bunch of hall of Famers walked out of a box.
B
Yeah, the box. So, by the way, that's the funny part is, like, that stuff actually left more of an impact because, like, again, 5:30ish time frame, like, we were ready for the show. We were sitting on the couch, like, all. Everything that happened then was so much more memorable than anything that happened once the game started. By the Way funny enough. Like, when they. At kickoff, we literally paused the game so we could give the kids.
A
So, you know, Ruby got his bath at kickoff. We paused the game. Then we catch up, then Charlie. Then we're like, wait, let's give Charlie and Harry a bath so that they can go to sleep.
B
And then the TV turned off, and then it turned back on. By the time we turned the TV back on, the Seahawks were up 3 0. We literally just didn't even watch kickoff because, like, we were, like, turning, like, I'm telling you, it was a mess.
A
But I do feel like a lot of people had the same experience.
B
No. 100%. And I was thinking about, like. Like, I mean, what did people do in the day when you couldn't pause, you know?
A
Yeah. But we also forgot to, like, record it so we couldn't go back.
B
Is that what it was?
A
Yeah, because I didn't, like, press, like, add to library on YouTube TV. So, like, when we turned it off at certain points, like, so we.
B
Well, the TV turned off by itself, but it was paused.
A
The kids, the game was over. When we turned it back on, like, we missed everything.
B
We missed everything. It's so funny.
A
Yeah.
B
Not like I and us, like, having conversation. Like, no, it stopped where we left it. Like, no.
A
Oh, yeah. We're all fighting, like, so stupid. I seriously can. With us. Okay, then cut to halftime show. Bad Bunny did the halftime show.
B
Great.
A
I. I only got a chance to watch it this morning, given the schedule.
B
I was gonna say I didn't even watch it.
A
The scheduling disaster. I think he literally performed at 8:00'.
B
Clock.
A
Like, bedtime. Yeah, I thought it was so great. I thought it was so fun.
B
No, I left your house at halftime. That's why I literally was like, okay, time to go. And then I had put my kids down, like, it was a whole thing. And I. I've only seen, like, bits and bobs on the.
A
I didn't want to see the bits and bobs. Like, I. So I've been avoiding like. Like, spoilers. I saw I had seen Lady Gaga join, but I didn't even know what she's saying. I didn't want to see anything. I didn't want to see people's opinions before I owned my own. So I literally watched it this morning. I haven't. I don't even know what everyone is saying, but I think it's been pretty well received.
B
I think it's been well received.
A
I thought it was so much fun and, like, upbeat, colorful, beautiful to look at. I thought the Set design was great for me. Like, if I knew the songs, I would have liked it even more. But even without knowing the songs, it was just like fun beats.
B
It was a vibe. Everything was vibes.
A
It was vibes. And it was just like. Like, really fun, I would say. And I like that sort of positivity.
B
Yeah, totally. And I think the one thing. This was a point that I wanted to make because we did go to a Super bowl once.
A
We did.
B
And the super bowl halftime performance show is really made for everybody at home. It actually is not such a great experience for people who are there because a lot of the production is around, like, what? Remember, it was Justin Timberlake and it was like. Because, like, it was weird for us because so much of the production was happening TV wise, but people were like, this was amazing. And I'm like, wow, you had a totally different experience at home than we did. And I actually feel like, from what I'm seeing online, because, again, I only. I have only seen Bits and Bobs. I think it was an amazing experience for people that were there and I think it was an amazing experience for people that were home. And I think that's something really hard to do.
A
Yeah. Also, there was a bunch of cameos. First there was like, a house full of celebs. Alex Earl.
B
I saw her dancing.
A
Cardi B. Who else? Jessica Alba.
B
Pedro.
A
Pedro Pascal. Yeah, it was, like, fun, you know, it was like Where's Waldo of celebrities, which was really like, a fun.
B
Do you think those people rehearsed or you think they were just like, get out there and dance?
A
They probably had to go to one rehearsal just for, like, you know, to.
B
Know where to walk on and off.
A
Yeah. What's like blocking, you know, just so they don't, like, get in the way of a tree on its way.
B
Yeah, the trees. And that's what I'm saying, like, so cool. It was people that were literally, like, their costume was a tree.
A
A.
B
To be shvat of them, you know?
A
Yeah, no, it was just like a real celebration and of his culture. And I think people were, like, upset that, you know, it was all in Spanish, but, like, if that's what Bad Bunny does. So when they chose Bad Bunny, like, that's the halftime. 100%, like, music in Spanish. He's talking in Spanish. So again, like, if you have a problem, have a problem with the choice, not with the performance.
B
Well, the other thing I saw because, like, again, I totally understand and respect your opinion of, like, not wanting to ruin stuff online for yourself, but, like, I had the similar experience when it was the national championship game with Miami versus Indiana. And the whole time, I, like, didn't give a shit about the game because, like, I didn't go to either one of the those schools. And then after the fact, online, I saw all these amazing things about that kid from Indiana and his family, and I was just like, oh, my God. I would have been rooting for Indiana the whole time. Like, wow, what a story. So bad bunny. Like, literally 10 years ago in 2016, the year of 2016, he was literally, like, bagging groceries at a grocery store, uploading his music online, and then, like, 10 years later, like, performing at the Super Bowl. Like, what a story. You know, that is the American dream, if I'm being honest. So, like, very full circle, you know?
A
Yeah, very full circle.
B
Yeah, I do. Like, and there was. There's a lot of good information, like, on the Internet of, like, some of the, like, cultural symbolism that, like, maybe. And again, I need to watch it in full. And now actually knowing some of that stuff, like, I'm excited to watch it through that lens, too.
A
Yeah. There's, like, things that, like, to learn, but also just face value. Like, you could see how it was such a celebration of his culture, and it was really beautiful.
B
Yeah.
A
And I just loved it. Felt like one big party.
B
And honestly, like, pargy vibes. Like, and that's also, like, what we're looking for. Yeah. At all times. Like, you want to be. And same with the ads. Same with, like, every aspect of the Super Bowls. Like, the game's gonna suck. The vibes have to be pargy everywhere else.
A
Yeah. Little positivity.
B
Can we talk about the ads for a second?
A
Now let's get.
B
Okay.
A
Also, wait. Sorry. Lady Gaga joined. She sang Gaia with a smile, which is an amazing song.
B
I need to watch it. Was it amazing?
A
It was amazing. I don't want to say anything. She was amazing, but she was.
B
I'll call you later after I watch it.
A
It. She was singing with a bunch of instruments playing, like, around her, and they were. They were. It was like kind of like a mashup of, like, musical instruments and Die with a smile. And I just didn't feel like it mat it meshed. It felt like she was, like, singing against them. Like, it wasn't. I don't know why. I don't know if anyone else felt.
B
What do you think about Ricky Martin?
A
I didn't see that either, but he sounded great.
B
Amazing.
A
And it's just like.
B
Do you watch Palm Royale?
A
No.
B
Okay. It's that Like, Apple TV show that he's in. He's so great.
A
Oh, I didn't know he was in it. Like, Palm Beach.
B
Palm Beachy.
A
Yeah.
B
And he is. He's a big star in it and he's really good in it. Yeah. I'm loving the Ricky Martin renaissance. Like, good for him.
A
I didn't know there. I didn't know that was happening.
B
No, I. And I think that's what makes it cool, you know? Like, he's just still around doing his thing, and people are excited about seeing him. You know, it's more than just a 15 minutes.
A
You know, I was watching a clip yesterday. Someone, like, referenced the Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, like, the nipple thing, which, like, happened when we were so young. And it's such a. It was such a big deal, but I've never really, like, thought about it or watched the clip, like, trying to understand it.
B
Yeah.
A
What did he think he was doing? Like, what was his excuse? Like, when he, like, ripped off her boob cover? Like, what did he think he was doing other than ripping off her boob cover?
B
Oh, I have no idea. I mean, also, like, maybe he didn't think he was doing that. Maybe his arm got caught. Like, she had, like, a whole contraption on. I need to go back and watch it also. It was such a big.
A
It was such a big deal.
B
It's amazing they brought him back knowing that he totally.
A
No. And I think it's, like, wrong. I think people have a lot of issue with that because it's like, he did that. Well, she didn't do anything wrong, but he. She got all the heat for it.
B
Totally.
A
Been watching. And by the way, Waldron, what was he thinking?
B
Malfunctions are very normal, but it wasn't.
A
What did he think he was doing? He literally ripped off her boob cover.
B
Did he?
A
I need to.
B
That's another to my watch list. Another thing I need to know.
A
Sorry. Like, I feel like that comes up every super bowl halftime show, and I've not really thought about it in a while, but, like. Like, what was that? What did they think they were. What did he think he was doing by doing that? What was supposed to happen?
B
I mean, I. We could go down a whole rabbit hole.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
You know, but the ads.
A
The ads.
B
Okay. I just want to say our market.
A
Our resident marketer, we couldn't have a better person to join us.
B
Thank you for saying that. I actually feel like I don't have a lot to say because of the way that the super bowl was structured. Like, Did I get time to watch a lot of the ads?
A
Like, did you watch a lot of the ads before?
B
Like, some of them, yeah.
A
What were some of your standouts?
B
I thought the Pepsi ad was fantastic. I loved that they used the Coca Cola, like, polar bear and were able to sort of, like, draw comparison without being so overt about it. I just thought that was, like, beyond creative. I also, like, and every. Everybody, Jackie, can attest to this. That Coinbase ad karaoke for the Vaxi Boys was. I. I was literally, like, busting out in song and everyone, like, started following out. It made everyone like, what is happening here?
A
It made everyone stop and stare. And it was like, like, you were gonna. We didn't know what we were watching, but, like, whatever it was gonna be, we were gonna remember it. So when it's just like, coinbase, rock your body, right? Like, yeah, yeah.
B
And also, like, the Backstreet Boys had, like, a big moment. Like, every other ad was about them. Like, another ren of millennial renaissance. It's the year of the millennial, baby. Call me chuggy all you want, but, yeah, no, I feel like I need to go home. There's so many things I need to watch. I feel like I need to have, like, a watch party of the things that are relevant for the super bowl because given the timing that the show was at, like, I know, I'm sorry.
A
If we sound like broken records, like.
B
But it's just true. Like, I feel like during the ads, normally, like, for me, I'm, like, hunkered down, sitting. I'm like. Also, my kids are older now, so, like, they need, you know, they're playing. They need. Oh, mom, I want a snack. Oh, mom, I gotta go to the bathroom. Like, there was no sitting for me and just, like, paying attention, you know, so now I have to go to, like, Ad Age or odd Week. And.
A
But I also think that's like, that's what it's meant to be. It's like a. A gathering. You're not supposed to, like, sit in, like, Like a zombie and watch a Super bowl for four hours.
B
Like, but then if you think about that, people paying, like, $7 million just for the ad spot, knowing that people are not going to just be, like, glued, you know, it is interesting from a marketing spend perspective.
A
Yeah. But it's also like, the buzz before, during, and after.
B
Yeah. I thought those clawed ads, have you been seeing them on the Internet? No, these are some that I saw pre. Because there's a lot of commentary around them. So, like, as a chatgpt girly. I feel like I'm so, like, knee deep in AI that I can't fathom any other AI platforms. But, like, Claude basically, like, did a whole stream of ads making fun of, like, ChatGPTs, like, announced ad model. And they would be, like, pretending, like, as if your AI was talking to you, like, helping you with something. And they're like, insert an ad. It's actually much better when you watch it versus me describing it. But all that to say, I mean, the AI companies, they came out in full force at the Super Bowl. It's always interesting to see, like, what the groupings of people are. I thought the manscaped ad was really funny where they, like, did you see the hairball one? The hair was like, singing.
A
That's cute.
B
And then Liquid IV also, I think where they had, like, the toilet bowls, like, also singing or, like, moving. And then I was like, fucking, hydrate yourself. Liquid iv just like, cutesy. But again, I need to, like, go deep.
A
Yeah, that. Yeah, they're really. There's some fun stuff.
B
Yeah, there's some fun stuff.
A
Did you see the one with, like, Travis Kelsey's? Exactly. No.
B
I saw something on the Internet about how there was something like that, but I did not watch it.
A
Yeah, it was. It was a bunch of, like, famous exes. But the brand, I never got around to it. The brand was.
B
Did they play the Kendall one during the Super Sleeper? What's that?
A
I think betting.
B
Oh, okay.
A
I don't know. I just made that up. But it was other exes to Ben Simmons, Tiffany Haddish Offset. It was like Ace from Love Island.
B
Okay. Yeah.
A
They were, like, playing a bunch of lawyers.
B
Being well received or.
A
I think so. Well, it's definitely buzzy.
B
Yeah, it's buzzy. And that's what you're going for, you know? Yeah, yeah. The. I thought the Kendall. Was it FanDuel or DraftKings?
A
Fanatics.
B
Fanatics. Oh, fanatics. I thought it was fantastic.
A
Yeah.
B
I couldn't remember the brand name, so I guess it wasn't that fucking good.
A
Did they activate at the Super Bowl? Did anything further happen? Because, like, the. The commercial that came out last week was like a pre game, like, on her way to the Super Bowl. So I thought, like, she would do something at the super bowl, but if.
B
She did, I saw my boyfriend, Robert Kraft. No, I'm kidding. Robert Kraft, like, posted something, that's your boy. And was like, like, thanks for rooting for us. Like, they were having, like, some, like, sporadic moments, but I don't know if that's what I was saying. Like, did that ad run during the super bowl, right?
A
Or, like, a new updated one? Yeah, yeah, maybe I'll find out.
B
You see the T Mobile one where the Backstreet Boys, like, were just performing in a store, like, in Times Square, like, in January, I guess it was like, real and live at one point.
A
Oh, cool.
B
What a thr for all those people that were there, you know?
A
Yeah.
B
I was like, honestly, every. The game itself was so bad that I think everything else was just, like, heightened. Like, better from an ad perspective because you're just, like, wanting to watch anything that's entertaining. All in all, looking forward to next year's Super Bowl.
A
Yeah. I love a Super Bowl.
B
I love a Super Bowl.
A
It really is so great. It's such a great day. Like, always fun. There's so much fodder, like pop culture.
B
Sports, family, and it's becoming, like, even more so, you know, like, just every year I feel like the experience in whatever city it is, all the celebrities that get to go, all the brands that activate. Like, when we went to Minneapolis in 2018, there were not as many brand experiences. There were no creators that were there. I mean, we had the time of our lives. But, like, if we actually think about it, the experience that we had, which again, is actually a long time ago now, like eight years, which is so crazy to think about. Very different. I think super bowl, like, total experience and, like, what they do now.
A
Yeah.
B
They just keep, like, raising the bar.
A
Yeah. Our next story is a little more super bowl news. Two couples spotted at Super Bowl. I don't the kids even say couples.
B
But you also can't even say, this is the next story. This is Super Bowl. Oh, my God. This happens every time.
A
Oh, my gosh. Busy lady.
B
Every time I'm on the toast, my phone rings. Sorry.
A
Tom Brady and Alex Earle were spotted getting cozy at a Super bowl party.
B
I know this is controversial, but, like, obsessed.
A
What are your thoughts?
B
It's my thoughts are just like, I. First of all, I love Alex Earle. Like, I think she is.
A
Oh, yeah. Fun fact about Olivia. She's Alex Earl's number one fan. Number one fan and, like a long standing fan.
B
I just, like, honestly, I think that I don't even have the words to describe, like, just, like, why I think she's so great, but, like, I just love her. Like, I love watching everything she does. I love watching her success. I like watching her being a part of her family.
A
I like seeing her pay for her show.
B
Yeah. And I just, like, I Like seeing how she maneuvers her business, like, I feel like, like she is a real example of like a girl that like got famous while in college and is like figuring out how to sort of like monetize and make the best decisions for herself. And it truthfully, and this is not blowing smoke in any way. Like it does remind me of Claudia because I feel like in the early days, Claudia was another person who like got famous in college. She was like going on like some brand trips and doing brand deals. Like really all the stuff that is like so influencer now was like so foreign back then. I remember when Claudia like, like didn't have a way to describe even like what she was doing to people. I remember when like she was not gonna go get a full time job and that was like blasphemous, right? Like now nobody wants a full time job and everyone wants to be a creator. So it's like just interesting to sort of see like 10 plus years later, like how somebody else is navigating that in this new sort of like influencer economy. And it just like, it reminds me a lot of Claudia, like the things that like she's doing or testing and like, I mean her opportunities are just like enormous. But she really always handles everything with like a lot of grace and like just fun and excitement and like just fashion and beauty and all the things. And it's just like I'm so glad for like a girl that looks like her that like, to me she's doing it right. And that's why I'm kind of obsessed with the story because like, first of all, I just don't think of Tom Brady as being like a 50 something year old man. Like, I just don't, I don't want to know about his age. I know that is probably he's 48.
A
That if that helps.
B
Okay, that does help. I thought he was 52 actually. So yeah, that helps a lot. But it's just like he is like goat like best at what he does and like from an influencer perspective, like she is goat at best at what she does. And I just think like, when you think about that, forget the age. I agree that like, maybe that's not my favorite part of this piece of the story, but I don't know, it's just like you want, like, you want to see two people at the top, like vibe, and that's what they're doing.
A
They're definitely nobody's.
B
They're by the way, when they were dancing, like, yeah, get it. Like I was, I don't know, I watched a video, like, three times.
A
I was sort of shocked that they were, like, like, spotted together again, like, given the reception, like, the fact that it became such a big deal. What? Just that she rubbed his back. Like, everyone's saying they hooked up.
B
And I also think she's, like, so pretty and, like, flirty. Like, she talks like that. You know what I mean?
A
But I just feel like, for him, like, after that, like, I feel like he would. I mean, I keep, like, misreading the situation because I feel like it's not a good look for him. Like, he looks like.
B
Like, I think a worse look for him was saying that he didn't have a dog in this fight when, like, it was, like, about the Patriots versus the Seahawks, like, of course you have a dog in the fight. He said that. So he's been saying, like, a lot of things that's, like. He's kind of like, lo people hating on him. Like, I don't know what it is. So, like, I don't think he gives a.
A
Okay. Well, if that's the case, because, yeah, I feel like after it became such a huge story that they were just spotted together.
B
Yeah.
A
That I would feel like they wouldn't want or kind of wouldn't want her. It's all good for her.
B
Yeah.
A
But, like, for him, he kind of just looks like an old man. What are you doing? Go home.
B
No, I know, but at the same time, like, I. That's kind of why I love us even more. It's like, two people that just, like, don't give a shit what other people think because they don't need to.
A
Well, that makes me think, like, maybe because they love each other so much, like. Like, that they. They're bucking, you know, what people think. But not even that. I think they actually just, like, like, clicked in, like, a friend sense. So it's like, I'm not gonna, like, look away from my friend because of what people think, you know? That's a good friend.
B
Well, I could look into it, like, really deeply if you want me to. Also, I did hear rumors that her and Braxton were, like, you know, maybe, like, talking again or something like that. So, like, maybe they just genuinely are friends that, like, vibe. Maybe he's like, a father figure to her. Who the fuck knows? But I feel like for Tom, Tom always, like, wanted to, like, keep playing football. I read something actually, the other day. He's a part owner of the Raiders, and apparently he wanted to, like, retire as a Raider. And Gisele, like, didn't want him playing any more football. Obviously, that was the cause and demise of his relationship. I feel like it's a similar situation with Alex where she probably didn't want to settle down and Braxton maybe wanted to. Like, these are two people that. Their lives sort of, like, blew up because they were, like, pursuing their passions, you know, so maybe they relate to that in some regard. And maybe it's not love and not a relationship.
A
Mr. Right now. You think?
B
Or it's just, like, two people that are, like, genuinely confiding in one another because they've been through, like, somewhat of a similar life experience and they can therapize with each other. I don't know.
A
Wow. I mean, the mental gymnastics.
B
Was it that gymnastic Olympic level? Well, it is the season.
A
This is the season. She's the Simone Biles of justifying Alex Earl and Tom Brady's relationship.
B
Oh, by the way, give me five more minutes. I'll come up with 10 more.
A
Thanks. That's really beautiful, Olivia.
B
Do you not. Do you not agree?
A
I. I feel like when it first.
B
Came out, you were, like, not super pro this.
A
No, I've actually, like, for me, it doesn't really do. I can't. I don't know why you think that I would be, but it's just a bridge too far.
B
It's so funny because, like, there's so many influencers and things that, like, just really don't do it for me. And, like, I could give two shits and I won't say what they are here because, like, I just don't need people coming after me.
A
But. And nobody. Like, you don't have.
B
You can just. And it's just like, I. I'm. And I'm not, like, super pop cult, like, caring about, like, everybody.
A
But you're so Alex, darling. You're so Tom Brady.
B
I know. So, like, can you imagine what this does for me?
A
Yeah, that's so funny. And then our other new couple, spotting Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton, hard launched their relationship at the super bowl in their first public outing. So rumors have been swirling that they were rendezvousing. They were seen, like, leaving and arriving at a couple hotels in Paris last week. And now they were spotted enjoying the big game at Levi's Stadium last night.
B
Here's the thing. I just want Kim to be happy. Like, I just feel like she deserves, like, happiness and, like, a good, solid man. And I don't know anything about Lewis Hamilton, so I can't comment if that's what makes her happy now. Amazing. But I would just like to see Kim be in a very, like, fulfilling, nurturing, normal relationship. And by normal, I mean no drama. And I just think, like, when you go with a big athlete like that, like, drama. Would you call an F1 driver? That's what he is. He's athlete. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
So that's my take on Kim. It's like, I just want, like, some peace and calm for her, you know, like the highs and lows of all of her relationships. I mean, her relationships are really like, what put her on the map initially. Right. So it's like, I just, like, I want to see some, like, Kumbaya vibes for Kim, you know?
A
I agree. And I feel like this is more fun vibes, you know, like, where it's like, she's probably had a.
B
Which is also amazing and great. And I love that for her, where.
A
She'S like, in her Kim era doing what's fun. I don't know if, like, this is forever, but. Because I'm saying that it's not, it probably is.
B
Did you watch clips of her on Chloe Wonderland?
A
I watched both episodes. Yeah.
B
Yeah. And I thought, like, it was lovely.
A
Yeah, yeah, it's very.
B
They gave a lot, actually.
A
Oh, you thought so?
B
Well, again, I only watched the clips online.
A
You saw what they gave, but there.
B
Was what to give. You know.
A
What was the most interesting part for you?
B
I was just like, they were commenting on everything, like, are you friends with Larsa? Are you friends with Jonathan? Like, it just like all these things that people ask. Like, Chloe just straight up asked her, you know, and I was like, okay, like, good for you for tackling head on. Now were her answers, like, totally strategically maneuvered to just be like, I love everybody. I'm busy. Yeah. But she still addressed it, like, good for her.
A
If someone was like, he who shall not be named, they would not even.
B
Bring them up 100%.
A
Yeah.
B
And I do think a lot of things are just, like, sort of totally blown out of proportion in the media regardless. Or like, the media trying to make a story out of something for the sake of a story. So I'm glad that she was able to sort of, like, have that moment. I also think Chloe is doing a great job with her podcast. So, like, good for Chloe Money.
A
I think so too.
B
Is she your favorite, Kardashe?
A
Oh, it depends on the season that they're in and the season that I'm in.
B
Super fair.
A
She's pretty consistent. Like, she's always a favorite, but sometimes I'm in my Courtney era and I.
B
Just want to say I too I vibe with Courtney.
A
I also have like vibrated with Kimberly very deeply for a number of years. I feel like at this present moment. Moment it's not. But like I, I deeply love her.
B
Kim is. I deeply love her. I also feel like Kim is just like sort of not. I don't want to say like non existent but like not out there as much. I also feel like a little bit story is blowing up and she was seen with someone because it's like we haven't heard from her in a bit.
A
Yeah. But when you watch the show it's like their sisterly dynamics also like as moms then you start to like everything changes a little bit. So yeah, I really do relate to a lot of them. And of course Kylie's my favorite favorite.
B
Yeah, of course it's Kylie.
A
Kylie is my favorite. Today's episode is brought to you by Pepsi. The aforementioned Pepsi ad in last night's super bowl commercial was so amazing. Olivia and I were just talking about how much we loved it and how they showed the Pepsi paradox. So the creative of the Pepsi ad showed this phenomenon that when like you blind taste test colas, it has repeatedly proven that Pepsi is the preferred cola. So Pepsi zero sugar was chosen even by the polar bear over other zero sugar colas. And yet everything's coming up Pepsi these days. Pepsi is the name on everybody's lips and Pepsi zero sugar is the number one zero sugar beverage and everybody knows it. The Pepsi ad followed a cola loving polar bear who stepped up to the iconic Pepsi challenge. And with only taste on the table, when taste was the only thing that mattered, he or she chose Pepsi Zero Sugar over Coca Cola Zero Sugar Sugar. 50 years after the original Pepsi challenge showed America preferred Pepsi, when labels were removed, the brand did it again. So in the 2025 revival of the Pepsi Challenge, 66% of participants agreed Pepsi Zero tastes better than Coca Cola Zero Sugar. And Pepsi Zero Sugar won a hundred percent of markets where Pepsi conducted the Pepsi challenge, even in Coca Cola's hometown of Atlanta. So you have to try out Pepsi zero Sugar today. Go out and try Pepsi zero Sugar today. You deserve taste. You deserve Pepsi. Today's episode of the Toast is brought to you by Quince. Our life is brought to you by Quince. B
Peacock the Olympics I said tis the.
A
Season Olympics opening ceremony was Friday night in Milan. Milan Cortina 2026. I watched the opening ceremony.
B
You did? Okay. I didn't even know when the first of all, I love the Olympics. If there's one thing about me now I am partial to summer over winter. But I love the Olympics. Olympics. And I. I actually felt like there wasn't great promotion for it because, like, I didn't know when the. When the opening ceremony was, and thus I missed it. Add it to my watch list.
A
Well, I. Yeah, it kind of, like, snuck up on you. Even though I've been watching, like, Peacock every week for the last four weeks, and they always have, like, snow. You're watching Traders, and someone's getting snowed on in a promotion.
B
Right. But you're watching Peacock. So, like, that makes sense. But I'm saying it should have been broader than that. Like, I was not watching Peacock in thus. Like, I was living under a rock, apparently.
A
Yeah. So I got the memo. I watched the opening ceremony. Not live with, you know, opening ceremonies. It's kind of like a Super bowl halftime show. Like, bar is very high. Sometimes they miss the mark. I was, like, thrown back to that forlorn Paris opening ceremony. That was so terrible.
B
Right.
A
So I was like, I didn't know what to expect from Milan Cortina, and I loved it.
B
But it's Milan Cortina, I guess, actually, you could say this.
A
Paris. I thought Milan Cortina was beautifully done, love. There were so many things that were. That were just gorgeous and so artfully done. And obviously, like, it was all, it's Milan Cortina. It's Milan Cortina. So much about, like, fashion art and. But it's like, how are you also gonna, like, implement pasta into the opening ceremony?
B
Yes.
A
Nespresso.
B
Did they?
A
Yeah, they had it.
B
I can't wait to watch it.
A
So they did this, like, one of the bigger moments. It was like a cup. Like, probably a big chunk of the show is, like, their three great composers. And they were, like, dancing in the shape of the Fibonacci sequence, which was also part of the Duncan commercial last night. And I was like, oh, my go. That was the opening ceremony. Synergy. And then they had all of these different, like, dancers come out. And, like, a group of dancers were dressed as, like, colorful espressos. A group of dancers were dressed as, like, colorful buildings to celebrate the architecture. And it was just, like, very on the nose and very cute. And then it was all about, like, color, and it was just. It was very beautiful.
B
Love that.
A
One of my favorite parts. And then it's like, how are they gonna, you know, celebrate fashion and Milan Fashion. Fashion Week. They had rows of models. Supermodels. Red. A row of supermodels dressed in red Armani suits, because Armani is Milano. A row of supermodels dressed in white Armani suits. And a row of supermodels dressed in the green of the flag. So they looked like the Italian flag. They're walking down the road, in a way, these supermodels dressed as the Italian flag. And then the last model is Leo's girlfriend, Victoria Ceretti. She's dressed in a beautiful white dress carrying the Italian flag. She gives it for, like, the flag grazing. It was just, like, a beautiful way to, like, celebrate their country.
B
Yeah. Which is amazing.
A
It was. I have no notes. It was great. I feel like it accomplished everything that an opening ceremony should do, which is, like, highlight the culture of the place that's happening. The ceremony. Andrea Bocelli saying, oh, King, it was beautiful. Mariah Carey saying, gotta watch. How'd she do? Sounded amazing. I was actually shocked that she sang, because I don't know why. I feel like she doesn't sing any.
B
I don't. I agree with that.
A
She has one of the greatest voices of all time. But, like, there was the New Year's kerfuffle, so I'm like, does she even sing live anymore? And if she doesn't, why have her do the opening ceremony? It's not like she's Italian. Right. But she has a beautiful operatic voice.
B
Right.
A
Ms. Popular.
B
So busy.
A
If you need to take a call, I'll understand.
B
No, I'll be okay. Sorry.
A
So she crushed it. Tate McCrae did not get on a Ferrari and sing Sports car.
B
So did people think that was gonna happen?
A
It was my.
B
That could in LA in 20 years.
A
Because Ferrari is Italian.
B
No, I know. But if they're not going to have so many American people.
A
She was doing promo for the Olympics, and she said, I'll be. We're going to the open ceremony and then back to Super Bowl. She was doing it for Peacock, like, about explaining their programming. So I'm like, what is she talking about the opening ceremony for? And then I was like, maybe she's in it. Tr.
B
I just want to tell you something. The reason why my ringer is on is your fault. Just so you know.
A
My fault?
B
I'm going to tell you. I'm literally turning my. Because I. First of all, I got this new phone, the iPhone 17, and it used to have this, like, thing on the side where you could, like, up and down, like, the sound, whatever. And it is your fault. I'll tell you why. But, like, in the best possible way, because, like, two months before you were about to give birth, you called me and you're like, you need to start leaving your phone on at night, like if I need you. And I just want you to know my phone is completely silent except for phone calls. Because that's how I set it up so that in the night I didn't get, like a beep for every single thing on my phone. And like, now I just, like, I don't even know how to. I gotta, like, figure that out. But I just left it like that. So my ringer is just always on now. And.
A
Is that spam calls? Do you get a lot of spam?
B
No, no, I. These are people that I know that are looking for me.
A
I got a lot of spam. I can never leave my room.
B
I get so much spam. I'm just saying this in particular happened to not be spam.
A
Got it.
B
But my phone's off, so.
A
Okay.
B
I'm so sorry, everybody. So to be like that person, like, I'm so busy.
A
She's so. I mean, we know she's so busy and she's so popular, but we'll. We'll begin to wrap up.
B
Well, the one thing I wanted to comment on was that I am very much looking forward to the opening ceremony in 20. 20, 28.
A
Well, it made me think about what the. What they like, you know what I was thinking? I'm not to, like, go down this rabbit hole and waste the rest of the show time. But this is what I was thinking about because they had to pick their biggest Italian singers, like, who represents Italy. They also had an actress from White Lotus, Sabrina and Pachia Tori. Did you see her? Did you watch that season? I didn't watch it.
B
I only saw the name of the actress. And I need to. If I looked at a picture of her, I'd be like, oh, but I don't. I don't. I didn't know the name of the person and what. That correlated too.
A
Yeah. So I guess she's just a popular Italian actress. She did, like, this whole thing. It was really cute. So then I was like, who represent? And it's not just about Los Angeles. It's about the country. Because I was like, you know, I was expecting, like, Milan to be like, only Milan, but it's like, no, we can go to Rome. It's okay. Like, we can do other Italian things.
B
Yeah. So LA can be like, that's very different, I think, in Italy than it is here. Then they're not states in the same way. But, like, LA is very representative, I feel like. Or, you know, just having it in different places in America of like, The US And Milan is like. I know, I. Milan and Rome are like. They could be like two different worlds, you know, that's why they always say when you travel to Italy, you like, go to multiple.
A
It's about the host country. So I think. So who do you think would be the right performers for la? And like, of course your mind goes like Taylor Swift, Beyonce. But like, I don't know that they sum up like all of America.
B
Yeah.
A
And then I was like, I think it has to be someone older. And a lot of the people I was thinking, yeah. Have passed, like Whitney Houston.
B
Right.
A
Would be amazing. Michael Jackson.
B
Yeah.
A
Well, for those people who are still.
B
Living, like Billy Joel, like, we need him.
A
Or Bruce Springsteen.
B
Yeah, Bruce Springsteen. Like, and I thought, you know who else I thought?
A
Dolly Parton.
B
Dolly Parton. Great. That's a great one. I do also think that you also have to think about in two years from now, there's going to be like another big star that will be somebody that.
A
But not enough to like, hold it down for the whole country.
B
No, no, no. But you're gonna have multiple people. So you're gonna have like young, old and new little people. People.
A
No, like, you know, it like. And also, that is so, like Hollywood is to like, put on a two and a half hour, like Super bowl halftime show.
B
100.
A
Put in everyone.
B
No, it'll be a lot of people and it'll. There'll be somebody on that stage. This is my prediction. There'll be somebody on that stage that is like, not somebody that's even remotely famous right now, but that's somebody that's like, up and coming over the next two years. Like, it will be a hodgepodge of different. I. I mean, this is what I hope they do, actually, because God knows what they are going to do. But I feel like. Feel like, I mean, LA and that 2020 Olympics Committee they are working in. Oh, they were working overtime to get it.
A
I feel like it's going to be a lot of Billie Eilish. They love her because she's like, from la.
B
No, that's not what we want.
A
And she was in the, like the baton toss from the closing ceremony.
B
Not what we want.
A
I know, but that's what it's going to be.
B
It's not what we. I'm just talking about.
A
And Red Hot Chili Peppers, they were in it too.
B
Great. Love. Done.
A
Love. Okay.
B
Do you know that I went to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in high school?
A
They should do like an around the country, like, take us on a Tour of the country or just, like, start New York. Billy Joel down to Miami. Mr. 305. Just please put fucking Pitbull in there. Okay.
B
Mr. 305. I love him.
A
Mr. 305. Like, that's who.
B
Like Dolly. Then we're going, by the way. Great.
A
We could stop in New Jersey for Bruce Springsteen. Sure. And I guess if, like, you're not associated with a certain place, like, you're not going to be on our tour.
B
If you're not associated with a certain place, like, you're not a star. Do you know what I mean? Like, all stars, like, they talk about their humble beginnings or do you know, like. Yeah, it's part of their. You know.
A
Yeah. I think most people are associated with a certain place.
B
Yeah. Where's Taylor associated?
A
I guess Nashville is where she got her start.
B
Not Reading, Pennsylvania.
A
No. I mean, sure, if they want to.
B
Like, Nashville is like another place you could have. Yeah, of course. In there, you know. Well, Dolly is like Dollywood.
A
Yeah. You know, and that's in Memphis somewhere. Tennessee Gracelands in Memphis. Elvis would have been great.
B
Would have been great. I mean, he would have been dead by now, regardless.
A
He would have been amazing for the opening ceremony in 2028. Okay, let me get to the rest of the story. I'm crying. Is there some nonsense that, you know what? I might save for another day? But let's just head to our fifth and final story, which was a headline that I thought was so funny. And I saw the video, but when you put it to words, Cardi B takes a tumble while giving a robot a laptop dance. So this video was on tmz. There was, like, a robot outside of a hotel. So she jokingly, like, starts, like, dancing on it, whatever. And at a certain point, she, like, put pressure on. I thought the robot was gonna, like, fight back because I, like, saw the headline, the robot, like, takes a tumble with Cardi B. So I thought, like, maybe he was gonna, like.
B
You thought rumble, not tumble.
A
Yeah. Some self, you know, dominance and be like, don't touch me. Yeah, but no, she, like, put pressure on it. He, like, fell and she fell.
B
Oh, God.
A
And it was just. Just like the craziest. It. It felt like something like, not real.
B
Yeah, no, I haven't seen that video. But, like, that's a not real headline, you know?
A
It's a not real headline. I love not real headlines.
B
Do you. Are you into, like, Cardi B? Like, being a wag?
A
So I think also her and Stefan, like, broke up yesterday.
B
You're kidding.
A
Yeah.
B
Is that another Story.
A
No, no, no. I mean, like, it's. It's news. Where was it? Let me find it.
B
That would be insane.
A
Where did I just see that?
B
Why? Because he lost.
A
I don't know. It's. Oh, it's at the bottom. Okay. They spark breakup rumors post Super Bowl. Yeah. I don't know. I don't feel like they're rock. They're that rock solid.
B
No, I know, but, like, I mean, to break up, like, he just played in the super bowl and lost. Like, I mean, that would be.
A
He needs her now.
B
Whammy.
A
Yeah. You're saying.
B
Oh, yeah. Maybe wait a week or something, you know?
A
Yeah, I don't know. I just. I feel like they're very on and off.
B
No, for sure. But, like, also, I. I did kind of, like, her wag era. I didn't know, like, enough about it, but it was, like, it's always fun to see, like, who.
A
But I didn't feel like she was at the super bowl as a wag. Like, she was at the super bowl.
B
As Cardi B, which is sparking the breakup rumors.
A
No, I don't know. That's just, like, my take. She was also in the halftime show.
B
She was in the halftime show? Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
Oh, was she in the halftime show? Because she was a wag, so of course she was gonna be there.
A
No, I think she was in the halftime show because she's Cardi B, so of course she's gonna be there.
B
I mean, was she at the super bowl the last time? Last time? Year? Like, is she somebody.
A
She's always performing. Like, you know, the. The DirecTV pre Super bowl party.
B
Yeah. Like, 50 Cent performed somewhere. Did you see that?
A
No.
B
I love fofty. He's my favorite.
A
Yeah, there were a bunch of performances. It was a big weekend.
B
It was a big weekend.
A
Everyone was out. Christian McCaffrey played the piano at the Zach Bryan concert.
B
I saw that.
A
And he played the whole concert.
B
He did great.
A
And then he's also in that commercial for, like, NFL where he has, like, a belly. No.
B
Did you see that ad?
A
No, I didn't. I was.
B
I don't know what that is.
A
The Boys and Girls Club, Youth Club of America. It was an ad for, like, NFL's philanthropy work with youth organizations.
B
Oh, that's.
A
And Kristen McCaffrey is playing the piano for a bunch of youths. That's what I was talking about. But tell me about the belly.
B
Okay. There's an ad. I actually don't know who it's for. He's in a locker room and he has literally a belly, and he's, like, shoving food in his face. And they called him, like, Christian. Like, Meh Caffrey or something. I don't know what it's for. And it's like. And he's like, that is Don Draper.
A
Is rolling over in his grave.
B
I'm gonna send. Do you have to. Again, I only saw a clip online, so I, like, I wasn't fully processing what was going on. I also was like, I don't know. I'm not one of those people where it's like, if you're shoving food in your mouth, like, this is, like, entertaining ASMR for me. So I was like, what is this? Gotta go. But I'll go back to it now. I thought that's what you were talking about.
A
He also won an award over the weekend.
B
Come back.
A
Comeback player. He made a beautiful speech.
B
I actually love the NFL honors. Have you ever watched it?
A
No. It always, like, misses me, you know?
B
Oh, it? Yeah. Miss me. Because you want to know why? Why? Because they do it, I think, like, Thursday night, and you find out everybody that wins, and you see all the red carpet pictures and everything, and then they usually air it on Saturday night, like, on TV for the folks at home. And it's like, nobody gives a shit.
A
Like, by then, they kind of sort of bifurcated their moment.
B
I forget who it was. A couple years ago, they had, like, an amazing host. It was so funny. It was, like, very moving and celebratory. I've always, like, I really like that they do that. I just don't like they should just air it live. Like, don't give us, like, a few days, because I want to see people's speeches live versus, like, if I'm seeing it online, then I'm not necessarily going to go and watch your live stream on a Saturday night, you know?
A
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, thank you so much for joining me today.
B
Thank you so much for having me. It was an absolute pleasure.
A
That is your super bowl recap. Oh, Olympics. We had started to dabble, and then, like, the sports. But it's also, like, preliminary at this point. Lindsey Vonn is, like, the big news.
B
Sad that I'm just in love with that couple, the married couple. That's the figure skaters.
A
And the guy who liked his flips, he won something.
B
I think he got gold yesterday. We watched one.
A
Oh, they're already giving out golds.
B
Yeah. But also, I saw a gold medal chart, and, like, America isn't even in the top five, so I feel like our sports are not anywhere near that yet. And also, we're just rooting for Jared Firestone from Eritz, Israel. Okay.
A
Oh, yeah, he's playing for Israel. Oh, and the Israeli team was robbed. Their apartment was robbed. Thousands of dollars stolen in their past passports.
B
Yep. Another day.
A
Just another day.
B
But, yes, I, I, I need to get more into the Winter Olympics and rooting for Team America.
A
I just always feel like the first few days, it's like, you know, everyone's falling and figuring it out.
B
Yeah. And it's like semi finals.
A
Yeah. You know, it's semi final sides. But then at the end, it's like, this person has already won two medals. I'm like, when did that happen? But it's in these days that I, that I'm consciously not paying attention to.
B
Yeah. No, and I just, I love the married couple. Couple.
A
Yeah.
B
I think everyone, apparently their moms were, like, friends, and then at, like, 12 years old, when they were, like, skating together, they decided to become partners. And then they were, like, skating together for, like, 15, 20 years. And then, like, said, I love you. Like, did you die of cuteness?
A
It, like, for men and women, like, figure skating partners to not be married, like, when I'm looking at them, they're dancing, like, so romantically. I'm like, oh, you guys should be married.
B
You should. And I think that's why these folks are so great.
A
Yeah. Because it's a lot of trust, a lot of trouble, a lot of physical contact, a lot of long hours on the rink.
B
Yeah. And like, a lot of eyes, you know? Look into my soul.
A
Yeah. So happy for them. We will continue. To recap Olympics this week. We'll have Dear Toasters tomorrow, TV recaps, all the things trouts can. Thank you so much for joining me.
B
Thank you for having me. I love you so much.
A
I love you dearly.
B
Follow me at Olivia Ashre.
A
Do it. And we will see you on the next one. Love ya.
B
Bye.
