A
Good morning, girlies. It's the Toast. It's Jackson Claude, and we're your host.
B
It's your favorite show.
A
The best five things you need to know.
B
We'll start your day off Swirly. It's the Toast.
A
They sound amazing.
B
Welcome back to the Toast and Happy Thursday. But it's not just a regular Thursday. It is a celebracion and extravagaganza for the Nickelandria Truthers. That's right. Welcome to the the Boots on the Ground podcast. The people who have been saying what needs to be said for almost a year now. And you know how much shit we took for it. And just to turn out we were right. We often are.
A
Do you think they intentionally waited to put out the statement until the toast was up?
B
I don't, actually.
A
I feel like they might have.
B
Like, they mean it doesn't hurt to
A
wait to get the breaking scoop. Like, to have talked about it yesterday. I'm obsessed, too. And just because, like, they broke up. A couple. Real couples can break up necessarily mean that, like, they were never a real couple just because they broke up. But if I were on, like, Team Nickelandria, this is exactly when I would break up. Like, right after the season of Love island airs.
B
Everyone's talking about, like, Trinity and Bryce.
A
We can sort of, like, slowly fade, quietly fade. But there will be nothing quiet about this.
B
We're gonna try not to talk about it too much. Although I'm quite literally busting at the motherfucking seams to talk about it. It is, of course, our lead story and also, like, the rumors that are coming along with it. So before we dive in to talk about just a subject that's, like, near and dear to our. How are you?
A
I am good. We've had a morning. We're actually vlogging today, so if you want to, like.
B
We also vlogged last night. We're like such vloggers.
A
We're such vloggers. We love vlogging. You know, I love vlogging. Like, in another life, I don't really
B
have, like, an arm strength for vlogging. It's just so much like.
A
Yeah, it's a lot of that. I'm also a little shy to, like, vlog in public, and I think the vlogs suffer because of it.
B
Yeah, I'm. I'm not like that.
A
When I went to the general store, like, I could have vlogged from the store.
B
You didn't?
A
Well, no, I. I had the idea after, so it, like, started in my car. But, no, that's like, something that I have to work on is if I want content creator, if I want to be taken seriously as a vlogger.
B
Absolutely. And I just feel that we're at a place, like, if everyone in the world was, like, always acting proper, like, yeah, I'd be embarrassed to, like, be filming myself in public. People pee in public. Like, I can film myself.
A
Yeah.
B
It's not a big deal.
A
Yeah, it's true. And then last night, we filmed an amazing vlog that's going live today.
B
And when Jackie and I say that, like, we are doing things on the Internet that no other creators, podcasters, Patreon, are doing, this is what we mean when we say that, like, we had a live mahjong tournament. Like, who is doing that but us, Me, Jackie, and Ben. And the fourth player was you. It was so innovative.
A
Reader.
B
It will be up later today. If you're into mahjong, like, you'll really appreciate sort of, like, the talent and who wins, but. And you.
A
If you're not into mahjong, like, we don't spend too much time talking about,
B
like, the ties teaching you.
A
We're not teaching you. Like, it's more entertaining, but if you know the game, you'll know what we're doing. So it was really fun. And we got to play Maj. Even though I hate playing Maj before
B
bed, I completely agree.
A
I run through lines flower, flower, flower in my head as I'm sleeping. And last night, I literally had to, like, do a bunch of stuff on my phone to, like, get it out of my brain.
B
I watched two episodes of Mad Men after mahjong because I'm afraid of, like, having mahjong dreams. It's like when Ben and I used to vacation and, like, we were obsessed with playing blackjack. We would go to all these hotels that have casinos. We'd be up all night playing mahjong. I mean, excuse me, I wish playing blackjack and then I would be in bed being, like, 10, three, seven. Like, crazy.
A
No, no. I hate having mahjong dreams. Usually, whatever I do that day, like, some in some way, like, comes up in my dreams, but it's different every day, so it's fine. But the Maj dreams are not my favorite. So even though I like playing at night, it's not something I'm gonna make a habit of.
B
I'm just wondering if I look different to anyone today.
A
Because you have two new pieces of jewelry.
B
Yes, I do want to close the circle. Like, we talked a lot about what Ben got me for mother's Day, and While it was really beautiful, it needed some work. I finally got it yesterday from the jeweler. It is. I think I. If I told you guys what it actually was. It was a ruby diamond bracelet. It was, like, half ruby, half diamond. I just needed, like, a new setting, a new clasp, and, like, a couple of new stones, and I finally got it. Our friend Margot and her mom are jewelers, and they made it for me. It is so sick. It's in a bezel setting. I don't know if you can see. It's my new favorite piece of jewelry. And then for my birthday, to match my sister me, this one.
A
You have a lot of sisters. Clarify.
B
A ruby diamond ring. Yeah, that's right. And I'm wearing it today. I thought it was too small, so I, like, left it in the box. I was gonna go exchange it, then I was like, let me try it on. Fits like a glove.
A
Yeah. It's so cute.
B
And that's on being a sample size.
A
And it matches your bracelet.
B
I'm obsessed with my room. Like, I didn't realize when you have a child that's, like, named after a stone, then all your. So obviously, my next child's gonna be named, like, diamond. I just didn't know that was, like, a part of the journey. Highly recommend. Precious gemstones for inspiration.
A
Well, there are beautiful gem names, of course. Jade, Pearl, Topal, Gemma, Opalite. Opal. Opal is a name, right?
B
She is so lost.
A
I think that's a name. Yeah.
B
Like, there's tons of inspiration.
A
Pear, crystal. And you could go pear cut, pear, marquee, Lariat Love. Yeah. Asher, what's that?
B
It's like a shape.
A
It is, yeah. Asher.
B
I think so.
A
Emerald Lagasse 1.
B
One Fine Day in Emerald Lagasse City. One of my favorite places to visit.
A
Emeril Lagasse City.
B
So, yeah, just like, kind of like dripping.
A
Very beautiful. As far as catching up with ourselves and you, dear reader, we had a pargy day yesterday, did we not? Oh, I went to lunch with a friend.
B
Yeah.
A
With our friend Margot, who made the bracelet.
B
And then Jackie got the bracelet and
A
then gave it to me at lunch to give to Claudia. Actually, it is very full circle. We had, like, a very party lunch. I had the Caesar salad, which is very brave considering the lettuce outbreak. So true.
B
Oh, and let's talk for a minute about the lettuce outbreak, because I think a lot of people were sort of looking to us when the FDA sort of pointed the finger at Taylor Farms for the lettuce outbreak. Apparently, they are the lettuce supplier to Taco Bell. And Taco Bell's lettuce was the contaminated.
A
And then they just pinned it on
B
Taylor Farms and obviously, like a defamatory claim, if true, huge deal. And I did feel like, as a face of the company, like, a little bit responsible. And I didn't say anything, obviously, because it's not my fucking problem nor my place.
A
And we haven't done ads in a while, so, like, we were doing ads when it wasn't contaminated.
B
Right.
A
So, like, we didn't do. We didn't sell these bags.
B
Right, Right. And we don't promote Taco Bell, we promote Taylor Farms Top salad kids.
A
But I just want you to know, like, when that was true for a moment, which it turned out not to
B
be true, Taylor Farms has been cleared. And I just want to say I never doubted them for a second.
A
But when it was Taylor Farms, nobody suff suffered more than us. I had Taylor Farm salad kid in the fridge that I had to throw away. I was so excited for my Mexican street corn fiesta salad.
B
I think I would actually argue that the people who suffered more than us were like, the people who got diarrhea.
A
No, but, like, when it was Taylor Farms, like, who's affected? We were affected.
B
And I just never doubted them.
A
But it was.
B
I never figured out what it was. Did they?
A
No.
B
They pins it on Taylor Farms and they said, never mind.
A
They still haven't figured out what it was. And that's just not going to fly.
B
I know. I just feel like it's gonna be one of those things that, like, quietly goes down and we'll never find out, like, what truly happened.
A
No, but, like, now Taylor Farms, like, need some good pr. They actually should have us do ads where we let everyone know that it wasn't Taylor Farms.
B
Yeah.
A
And they didn't contract us to do that. But as like, a good brand partner, I'm gonna use this moment to let you guys know Taylor Farms has been marked safe from the diarrhea outbreak.
B
Yeah, so have I.
A
So have I. Even though I had a Caesar salad yesterday, which I wasn't going to order because of the romaine, but then the person next to me ordered it and I was like, that's what I want.
B
I actually think that restaurants in the Hamptons, because we are like, in farmland, do source local, so you are safe.
A
You would hope. And then I had a tuna crudo and then we were having so much fun. I got a cappuccino and biscott and we continued cappuccino in the middle of the day. I love a non fat cappuccino. And you know what? That's what I needed was some caffeine in the middle of the day. Like, it's a long day. My one Net spritz is not cutting it anymore. So today I'm on my second coffee.
B
Wow. Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake.
A
So, yeah, it was inspired by my capuchin yesterday.
B
What did I do? Because obviously, like, I wasn't invited to lunch.
A
She was very much invited and she very much declined.
B
Yeah, I was gonna go, but then, like, things just got crazy. And when you came back and we're talking about, like, how much fun you had, like, and you came back with my bracelet, I did sort of wish that I went, but, like, it's fine, it's fine. What did I do?
A
We did a little shopping, walking around. Don't worry, I didn't buy anything.
B
I don't know. You bought a Lunin water this morning.
A
I did so. I did have to take out a mortgage for that.
B
You guys, this water, I just want to say we are not involved.
A
Every influencer, every is an investor involved.
B
We are not involved. We're just sort of spectators and we had to see what the hype was about. I got one once, too.
A
Yeah.
B
And I held onto the bottle, like for a month and I kept refilling with, like, my electrolytes. Like, it's like a big expensive bottle.
A
I don't like the demon Copperhead of water.
B
I don't know why they had it at Dear Media irl, because I think Michael Bostick is an investor. And when I tell you I brought like four home.
A
Yeah.
B
It's like, what is with this water?
A
I don't know. But then you, when you spend so much money on it, you're like, oh, I have to finish it, of course. And I gave you some in your glass.
B
Your George Glass water. But no one will know because I have this glass.
A
No, but I'm gonna make sure she drinks every last sip.
B
George glass. I never really, like, got into the Brady Bunch. Obviously it's before our time, but, like,
A
what do you mean? We loved the Brady Bunch. I think I'll go for a walk outside now. The sun is out calling my name. You hear me now? I just. Just can't stay inside all day. I gotta get out. Give me some of that.
B
I don't even know where this is coming from. I've never seen that sunshine day. Everybody seems so happy and gay. I literally don't know where I know this And I've never seen the Brady Bunch ever in my life.
A
Here's a story of a lovely lady,
B
of course, who was zinning on pieces of my bread. What's the. When we were in camp, we would say, here's a story of a lettuce and tomato that were sitting on two pieces of my bread.
A
It's probably, like, your other camp thing, because I don't know that.
B
Okay.
A
Your other camp. You went to one camp that I didn't go to, so that's probably where you learned that. But, you know, Brady Bunch and of course. Sure, Jan. Sure, Jan. And what about Marcia? My nose.
B
Marcia. Marcia. Marcia.
A
Brady buns. No, I know.
B
I know. Like, classic snacks.
A
We watched it so, so much when we were little. We did.
B
I don't remember that. That's so sad.
A
And Cindy, the little one. The little one.
B
Yeah, I guess.
A
And the mom, Carol.
B
Yeah, I guess, in a sense. In a sense. I know the Brady Bunch, but, like, I don't have any memories of ever watching it. Like, what channel was it on?
A
That I don't know.
B
And it was at that time, it was, like, reruns.
A
Like. Yeah, we watched it on, like, tape. Yeah. That's how big of fans we were.
B
That's just not true. I don't remember any of that.
A
Yeah.
B
I can't believe it's Thursday. The week has flown.
A
It has. It started slow, but it picked up.
B
Yep. And then Alandra broke up with Nickelandria.
A
Yeah. And they should have done it on a Friday.
B
No, I think that. I don't think they wanted to sweep this on. This whole relationship, like, has been to catapult them to fame. And it was successful. And a breakup is big news. It's lots of headlines. It's lots of Google SEO.
A
I don't know how other people are feeling about it. And I've always said, like, she should free herself from Nickelandria. Then she could, I don't know, find a boyfriend and be single and, like, find actual love and, like. But now that we're, you know, auditing Nickelandria because they've broken up, it's not a believer. No. No. It's not making her look good. I've seen, like, a lot of that are, like, you left Love island with, like, no man and no friends and, like, everyone else is friends.
B
You know what? Let's just say.
A
Okay, let's say.
B
Because I have a lot to say,
A
and I don't want to feel adequately caught up. I feel like we are.
B
Well, I don't want to be accused of, like, shielding my personal life because I take those comments and allegations, like, extremely seriously. So let me just think, like, we
A
had an amazing dinner. Ben made stir fry coupled with the
B
things that made like a Chinese buffet.
A
Yeah, he did.
B
With his deconstructed egg roll.
A
Like, noodles and peanut noodles, noodle, chicken, rocks.
B
Like, my belly was hurting afterwards. I ate so much I had to, like, sit down on the couch and recline.
A
Our stomachs were full in, our smiles were wide. So that's really all the catching up. Plus, we did film two vlogs since you've last saw us. So, like, everything else is in the vlogs.
B
And the next time you think of accusing us, try being an influencer for a day.
A
Try it. Without further ado, da da da. Do it is time for the Fast 5 stories that you do need to know.
B
And the Fast 5 stories that you need to know are brought to you by Truvia Allulose Placevia sweetener and Monk Fruit.
A
Oh, you mean my favorite sweetener.
B
Yes, I do mean your favorite sweetener. With the familiar taste and performance of sugar, it makes cutting back feel easy rather than restrictive. It swaps in at a one to one ratio with sugar, so you can use it confidently in your favorite recipes with no adjustments needed. So if you're looking for a sugar alternative, you're trying to cut back. We highly recommend this Truvia Allulose product. First of all, we're big Truvia fans. Jackie did turn me onto it, like when I was pregnant with Ruby and I never went back. They blend allulose with Stevia sweetener and Monk Fruit Sweetener. This sweetener delivers a mellow, well rounded sweetness without that sharp aftertaste. It's an adaptable sweetener that works just as well in drinks and baked goods as it does for sauces and savory meals. I think a lot of times people are a little avoidant because, like, well, they know how much sugar they need. And then how much do I do of this? Well, it swaps in at a one to one ratio. So whether you're doing it in a coffee, a tea, or like a big baking recipe, it's all the same. One cup of sugar, one cup of Truvia Allulose plus, which usually isn't true for sugar substitutes.
A
You all of a sudden have to do math and get the calculator out. And who wants to do that when your hands are full of flour?
B
So if you're looking for a better way to enjoy sweetness with zero calories per serving, you really need to try the new Truvia allulose placebo sweetener and monk fruit sweetener. It's available online and nationwide at Kroger, Target and your favorite local grocery retailer. So that's Truvia allulose plus stevia sweetener and monk fruit sweetener available nationwide and online at Kroger, Target and your favorite local grocery store retailer.
A
Thank you. Turdy Allulose plus stevia sweetener and Monk fruit Turner.
B

Thank you Turtlos.
B
You are most welcome, Dirtlos.
A
Our first story Nickelandrea Alandria Carthon and Nick Van Steenberg break up one year after meeting on Love island usa. So a rep for Nickelandria confirmed to People magazine exclusively that they decided to part ways just over a year after they departed the Fiji Villa together. The source said, quote, the distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their fraud. I mean, I mean, connection. They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.
B
Okay, I mean, obviously, like the show has ended and I'm not talking about Love Island. I'm talking about their relationship. I think it's been very interesting to see people's reactions because, like, we're just coming off a season of Love island where like we were told we had the worst takes, right? And we were the people last season saying, like, why are you guys voting for Nick and Alandria? Why are you guys voting for Amaya? Like, they're both fake couples and we got so much hate. We have said from the moment they were still in the villa, not even that they left the bill up from them. We've been saying this is a fake relationship. We got so much hate for it. Like people like calling us such haters. Meanwhile, now everyone's reaction if you read the comments on any public because of course the second this was announced I got tagged in 1 million tick tocks Instagrams. I love that everybody thought of us. But all the comments were like duh, PR relationship is over. And it's like, well now, now everyone's saying no.
A
Now everyone's saying wob like posted some old DM she got about how Nick was with a girl at Coachella holding hands, he can't.
B
And then that this person like ran into Nick and Alandria and they were, like, being really rude to each other
A
to be around each other, which actually,
B
like, maybe they were in a relationship. No, but it's like, you're posting that now.
A
Yeah. No, like, you're brave now. Like, why it's not brave now. Why not say when it's unpopular? And, like.
B
And that just makes me feel. Because I just know next year, like, people are going to be talking about Carl and Anaya the way we've been talking about them, like the voting public of Love Island. And this is just further proof, like, they're wrong about everything. And I feel so good that everyone hated our takes, you know?
A
Yes. I feel that way as well.
B
Because we have been saying since day one.
A
Yeah. And the real couples from that season were Ace and Shelly. And we never really wrote for them because, like, Ace was sort of problematic, but. But they were a cute, real couple. The fact that they didn't make Final Four is insane.
B
Insane.
A
And then Iris and tj, which turned into Iris and Pepe. But the Islanders, another bunch of morons, voted tj even though they had a strong connection. Just for some more fake relationships. Yeah.
B
No, like, once again, I feel good, like, about what I contributed to Love island last season and this season, but
A
even this statement, like, is not a romantic relationship. And I feel like Nickelandria, they don't outright lie because they just talk about their connection. There was this clip of them saying, we're dating. And so, yeah, like, if the two of them go to dinner, I guess that's considered a date. They don't say, like, you know, they don't kiss. They don't actually pretend to be in love. They really operate like business partners. So the statement, the distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection. You're still saying connection.
B
So true. That's a very manipulative statement.
A
They still remain close friends. Yes. They've always been.
B
That's the whole thing.
A
Business partners. They share a deep love and respect for each other. Of course I share deep love and
B
respect for my course.
A
And we'll always support one another whenever possible. Yes. They've been supporting each other for a year. There's nothing about that that's an actual relationship breakup.
B
Yeah, that's actually an amazing point. Also contextualizing this, thinking about the interview that they just did where she's recent.
A
Yeah, that clip where she's talking about
B
being loved out loud. And it's like, you're being loved out loud. You won't even call him your boyfriend in the breakup Statement. And also, it's a fake relationship. Like, no.
A
And we didn't see love out loud.
B
We didn't see, oh, they were never together.
A
We saw him loving Sierra out loud. We saw him.
B
And now, by the way, there are so many tweets that are going about,
A
so much discourse, throwing Sierra under Sierra, backing it up, and then running it forward again. But the people who are now talking
B
about Sierra are the people who, like, rode over her with a truck last season.
A
And then. So after that, then we saw him being a friend to you out loud. That's what we saw. I didn't see love out.
B
I never saw love. I actually saw you guys making out and agreeing to that. There's no connection between you.
A
And then I saw the last few episodes where you guys understand that the fans have been rooting for nickelandrea and you guys want to give them what they want. And you like each other and your friends and his finals. His connection is not there. Like, you're done being embarrassed by Taylor, so. Oh, and Taylor and Clark were the other real connection.
B
They're still together.
A
That didn't make the finals because everyone, like, can't get over them.
B
The fact that he, like, chose her over Orlandra.
A
Right.
B
Which is what you're supposed to do. Test your connection. It's like, test your connection. Test your connection. But don't.
A
Yeah. Explore, but don't.
B
Right. Yeah. They're like. They are still together.
A
Yeah. So that's what I saw. I saw friendship and business out loud.
B
Yes. I never saw love out loud. And the fact that that interview came out, what, like, two weeks ago, and they break up, and I didn't even read the statement because, like, seriously, who cares? Like, they're broken up. But you're so right about the choice of words.
A
Yeah. That there's not a lie in there. And even so, for the last few episodes, they talked a lot about, like, their connection. You know, that seeing it at first and not necessarily, like, lying, like, I'm in love with you. They don't kiss or anything.
B
They don't kiss talk.
A
No.
B
But even in public, like, they don't kiss.
A
No.
B
They hold hands and they take pictures.
A
I saw a funny, like, tweet or something that she had her birthday recently, I think was at her, like, new apartment, and a lot of her family and friends were there. And, like, he's on the end of every photo, so he could be cropped out of any year in a day.
B
Right.
A
Very easily.
B
There's really not much to say when you've Been right.
A
You know?
B
Except, of course, I told you so
A
her ending one year out with no friends from the villa. When she was an OG villager, she had close friends.
B
She ran that villa like her, Shelly and Sierra.
A
Yeah. Is that a good look for her?
B
I agree.
A
When all along I thought Nicholandria was like, you know, Nick is the problem. I think he's a user. I think he's. I actually think he's disgusting.
B
I agreed. We can't even talk about him without talking about Sierra. Like, he's actually legit a bad person for that. So, yeah, we've always focused on him. She's just a queen.
A
She is a queen. And she. She handled herself amazingly. Like, she. And she's so beautiful and she's so mature and, like, wants a real relationship. And so she ended up in this business partnership. Whatever. Like, you. Like, that's good.
B
But now, like, when the dust has settled, you're right. Like, there's something suspicious about the fact that all the girls are on vacation right now without her. And these are girls that. They weren't even friends with him in the villa, but now they're friends. Like, they were not friends with Clark.
A
There are multiple pockets of friend groups she could be friends with. Like, she should be friends with Shelly because that best friend in the. But she's not because Sierra.
B
Shelly and Sierra are really good.
A
But so, like, Shelly chose Sierra. She's not friends with, like, the Iris, Hannah. Hannah cohort. Andrina is always around.
B
Andrina and Clark. There are a lot of different friend groups, and they all, like, make content together. They go on vacation together. It's so cute. Yeah. Weird.
A
So that's what I'm saying. Like, in this audit, it's not reflecting well on her when this entire time I thought, like, he was bringing her down so above him, and she is so above him. But, like, now, I don't know. The whole thing has sort of, like, sullied her good name.
B
And at the end of the day, Nicolandrea, at its core, was just genuine dishonesty. And that's never a good look.
A
Fraud.
B
Fraud. People have gone to prison for worse. I mean, for less.
A
Yeah. And if I were, like, running nickelandria incorporated.org q. TM I would say right after the next season of Love Islanders, we should break up. That's what I would say.
B
Right. It's a little obvious, honestly. They should have waited another six months
A
or, like, right before the season aired so that, like, people would be on to the next thing.
B
It wasn't a. It Was obviously a choice, like, the timing. And I think it was actually a bad time to choose.
A
Yeah. But now the streets are saying that she's been hooking up with Travis Scott.
B
That's what Dumas said. And it's like, to Maslow keep pissing me off. Like. Like, isn't the whole point of what you do to, like, share these titillating things that you get that might shock the public?
A
Still titillating.
B
So, like. Yeah. Sharing that they were mean to each other at Coachella. Like, now. Well, we know they broke up. Thanks for that. But that would have been helpful to know at Coachella. Yeah. So, like, sorry.
A
Like, last backup here.
B
Yeah.
A
Right.
B
It's just. It's not brave to, like, go along with, like, nickelandrea stands now. They broke up being, like. Yeah. I also heard it was fake. It's like, that's. You're supposed to be, like, the. The hint person.
A
Yeah, it was.
B
It's, like, lame, as. Honestly.
A
Yeah. And then she reported today, which she probably just got today, now that everyone's talking about. Nicholandria Landry is hooking up with Travis
B
Scott for months, allegedly. So, like, I just feel that.
A
Which is maybe why they're finally breaking up. So that, first of all, it's, like,
B
getting close to coming out.
A
If she steps out with Travis Scott, that's better for, like, her stock.
B
Yeah.
A
And maybe she wants that because I
B
think for being Stormy stepmom.
A
I mean, think about the dinner, like, Stormy's graduation. It's with Timothy, Travis, Alandria, Kylie, and Timothy at Stormy's graduation dinner.
B
Obsessed. See?
A
And you know, Kylie loves Love Island.
B
We have wanted for.
A
Kylie loves Love Island.
B
Yeah.
A
She probably loves Alandria.
B
This when we've talked about Nickelandria at a glance over the last year, like, this is what we've wanted for Alandra. She is on another level. She can start dating much more eligible, famous, wealthy men. So, like, this is exactly what we wanted for her. But I don't know. I'm just not feeling good about it.
A
About Travis Scott?
B
No, about the whole thing in general. Like, I wanted them to break up, and I wanted her to date Travis Scott. Like, everything that I wanted to happen is happening, but it just happened in a really, like, dishonest way.
A
The way I thought I would feel about her when they broke up is not how I feel about her.
B
I thought I would feel like, yes, she's free.
A
Yeah. But now.
B
Well, you're both liars. Yeah.
A
And the fact that she doesn't have, like, friendships from the show doesn't.
B
It's a red flag.
A
Well, on her. And she's just always doing everything alone.
B
Yeah.
A
Everyone's doing everything together.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
And I feel like people are starting to. To question that. I don't need us, like, turn on her or anything. But at what point, like, does the cost of Nicola Andrea come home to roost? You know what I mean?
B
Thousand percent. Like, this is so serious to me. Like, this is so.
A
And like any other fake love island couple that goes really far or wins just because one of them is really, like, that happens every. Maya and Brian, like, break up two weeks later. We don't care.
B
Okay. The show's over. We don't. Yeah. They took it so serious so far.
A
They really thought they were like, like doing something. Yeah.
B
And they were, by the way, until a point because, like, while I was onto them, I'm more media literate than the average person.
A
A couple weeks later, we're like, the distance. It was too hard. We're better off as friends. The people who believed them would have
B
stayed believing and like, would have just rest in peace, had a quiet ceremony. It's true. They gave everyone too much time to doubt them.
A
And in that year, in that year, we're seeing just like public appearances. Not couple content.
B
No, not love.
A
No.
B
Like they were on the COVID of Glamour magazine together. Like, if I'm the editor of Glamour, like, I'm embarrassed. Like, I got duped. I feel like overall, Nickelandria, like, was a test for people. I passed. You passed. The toes passed with flying colors. And if I'm a person who failed, like, who even for one second believed that they were real, like, I'm taking a hard look in the mirror because like I said, this is serious for me.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we can only hope to, like, learn from this.
B
I don't need to learn anything. Neither do you, of course, but I hope others do.
A
Definitely. And I'll be curious to see the couples at the reunion because so far Carl and Anaya, like art. Everyone is. Carl and Anaya kiss, you know, and like, they are like, they are in a sort of couple. But it is like the same thing where she. The fans are going to casa chose someone else. Right. She stayed, chose him. Then people became obsessed with the relationship. The producers, like, produce their way into Karnaya and let's see what happens next. Though I do think there is a little bit more romance between those two. I mean, there is. They kiss and they, like, make out at night and stuff. I read Nickelandria. It's just like separate beds.
B
Yeah.
A
So that's the end of nickel. Andrea. I will miss it.
B
I won't.
A
I will miss talking about I almost being right. I miss talking about them. Yeah. And he's just.
B
He's spooky.
A
I, like, I'll never get over it.
B
I know.
A
Like, he'll never make it, right.
B
Yeah, I know. He, to this day has never spoken to Sierra.
A
I would love to talk to Sierra.
B
I do feel that she's healed. Like, it took a long time, but she talks about it, like, in vague ways. I follow her on Tick Tock. She's just. She's just a really good influencer, too. She makes amazing content. She does good makeup, good outfits.
A
I was just looking at her content. I follow her. So I see. See a lot of it a lot of the time, but not all of it. And like, the videos that she makes, like, by the beach, doing her makeup, it's.
B
That's like her thing.
A
You guys have to watch these videos. Like, some people just have the content bug.
B
Yeah. And we just. We all moved on from that too quickly. Like, his biggest crime is not even the fraudulent relationship. It's what he did to that girl.
A
Yeah, of course. No, it's that you could be in a fraudulent relationship. I don't care.
B
Of course they all had bills to pay.
A
Okay, so you're friends and you just want to, like, you know, make some money.
B
Yeah.
A
Sierra.
B
Yeah.
A
Are you ready for our next story? Where to go? Where to go?
B
Oh, she's lost.
A
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Whitney Rose Dropping Justin Rose break up after 16 years of marriage.
B
Are you going to be okay? I know how much Justin Rose means to you because he looks like Hannah Brown.
A
Hannah Brown. I love you. I know you're watching.
B
Yeah.
A
Yes. No, I'll be okay. This is just like, I feel like when couples, like, go through such hard times and, like, don't break up, then I'm genuinely shocked when they eventually break up. And I feel last few seasons they've had, like, really hard, like, financial issues and changes in their marriage with, like, her being the breadwinner and the whole dynamic that they, like, got married under change when she became a housewife, as it normally does. But I just thought they were so solid. Like, this is. If you had to guess, like, the next couple that would split in Salt Lake City, I just wouldn't think it would be them actually.
B
Like, just because there are a lot of good marriages in Salt Lake City. Like, I think that Meredith and Seth do have A good marriage. I think that Lisa and John do. I actually might have said Whitney Rose just because they have, like, a freaky, like, backstory. Like, they have a big age gap, and she is so different. That happens a lot that you just become different.
A
That's true.
B
Like, you just change as a person when you become a housewife and. Yes. Financially independent and, like, famous.
A
Yeah.
B
It changes who you are, I think, a lot of the times, like, at your core. And sometimes you change into a person that your husband hates or you change into a person who hates their husband. So. Yeah. And I feel like she actually has changed so much.
A
That's a good assessment. So the news is that this. The two have separated after 16 years of marriage. They have not spoken out publicly about what led to their breakup. However, their ups and downs, including job losses, his job loss, failed business ventures, and financial troubles after he put all of his money into business, have been thoroughly chronicled during the last six seasons.
B
Even though, like, when you're having financial issues, kind of the worst thing you can do is get divorced. Because it's so expensive. You have to split everything. And it's like, we only have $1. Like, now we have to split it. So, like, I just think it's a good financial decision.
A
That's very true.
B
It's really bad for, like, your finances to get divorced. Like, even for wealthy people, you become temporarily poor.
A
Yeah. Okay. I have to catch up on Salt Lake City because I want to watch the next season. Like, a lot's happening, like, between it, and I also, like, want to know, like, why now? Again? You know, we talk about this a lot with, like, couples who have been through a lot, who have kids, and it's like, what changed? What was, like, the final straw? Because it does feel like something had to have happened. Their financial issues started, like, many years ago. Agreed. It's not that, like, divorce isn't going to make it any better. So, like, why are they getting divorced? Who wanted the divorce? Who do you think wanted it? Yeah, me, too.
B
Just a guess.
A
Yeah. Always sad.
B
Yeah. And I think also maybe it's because how, like, the franchise is still new. But I do think that if you've been on Housewives for a long time and your marriage has survived, like, drama and rumors, like, you're pretty set, like, especially if you're an older woman. That's why I think Whitney's, like, also kind of young.
A
She's still, like, you know, 39.
B
She's still a butterfly. She's still cocooning and changing, and butterflies
A
are really like the metaphor of summer.
B
A thousand percent.
A
It's a butterfly summer.
B
But like, I think with a lot of the older housewives, once they make it through, like five, six seasons with their husbands and they're tested, like, it actually ends up being good for marriage if you make it through.
A
Yeah.
B
And so I don't think that one, they've been test, like, well, they obviously, like, were tested and failed. And two, like, she's really young. I think if you're like, really sure of who you are. I remember when Melissa Gorga came on the podcast, she was talking about how, like, she was a housewife. Like, she did not make any money. And she was like, really happy being. And then she became like, really independent. Was like going out to events. And I think that like, a lot of times, like, that can happen and it tests your relationship and like, you fail or you succeed. And I think like, Teresa and not Teresa, Melissa and Joe, like, succeeded because if you watch the early episodes, he's like, toxic. Get in the kitchen.
A
And she's like, wait, but I'm toxic. Like male chauvinist. And then like, the, the format of their relationship, like, change and gender roles.
B
It's like you're home with the kids because I gotta go out.
A
And there's definitely growing pains thousand. And you see that and it's like, painful, but it doesn't mean that it has to end. Like, you could reformat yourself.
B
Right. And then of course, like, Joe Gorger got himself famous. Like, it all worked out well for them. But I think maybe that's kind of what happened here because Melissa Gorga was also young. So, like, she was like, still figuring out who she was as a mom and a woman. And then this thing happens and you're famous and Jersey, like, they really blew up.
A
But, like, Justin Rose, like, seems very.
B
I don't know what Justin Rose seems
A
like, except for there was a weird scene, right, with Lisa Barlow.
B
What?
A
Like, he, like, they got into a fight.
B
I hate when the men get in fights. It's like, seriously girly.
A
And he like, like, spoke nasty to her. Like, she, like, came at him, like, ranting about his wife. But, like, doesn't matter since Salt Lake City. Do not get involved. And he sort of shouldn't. He sort of, like, barked at her.
B
Very Kentod. Stupid woman.
A
Yeah, yeah. And especially because he's like, seems so jovial and like, kind hearted. And it was just a little awkward. Even though, like, she started. She asked for it, right? It doesn't matter, like, ranting.
B
It doesn't matter.
A
You're just supposed to stand there. You're just supposed to stand there.
B
Speaking of the men of Bravo, Juicy, Andy went Instagram a fish with his boyfriend. Like, they posted such a cute picture. And I do feel.
A
And you know what?
B
Somebody tagged me in a clip. You know, Hoda, she, like, started that, like, media company or whatever. She, like, does a show in the back of a car. It's, like, sponsored by Toyota. But they were talking. She had Andy on. And somebody tagged me in this clip where he was talking about how he loves his job so much, but he went through an era where, like, he got, like, a lot of data. They do Bravo, like. Like, Q score tests and focus groups, whatever. And they got a bunch of feedback that it seems like Andy on Watch what Happens Live was, like, checked out and just, like, over it. And Andy was like, that was such a reality check for me. Like, I have the best job in the world. And, you know, he does feel like he's done a little bit of a. Yeah, I was shocked that he shared that, but he was like, yeah, the data, like, people were. The feedback was that, like, I felt kind of checked out.
A
You mean the toast, Literally.
B
And he was like, the second I heard that, like, it just. Just. It hit me sideways. And I realized, like, I have the best job in the world. I don't know, like, what I'm complaining about. And he's been, like, totally recommitted to it ever since.
A
I'm in shock. How did I not see that?
B
Because it's on this, like, random sponsored show that Hoda does in the back of a car.
A
I feel I'll find the people attacked.
B
And it was not about you. They ran, like, actual focus groups.
A
So he says. But literally, we said that.
B
We're not the only people who said that. Like, it's so obvious. He's sort of cutting people off, shoving
A
them out the door, like, I guess so. But, like, it could have just been, like, you know, the streets are saying. And it's us. No, no, he said, we are streets.
B
You said Bravo gave him, like, formal data research from the streets of the toast.
A
We are the streets, by the way. Literally. Yeah. So, Brittany Rose, Brittany Rose, wish you the best. Goodbye. Are you ready for our next story? Aaron Dessner is setting the record straight on Gracie Abrams song Death Wish. He said, it's definitely not about Taylor Swift. So weird that he's addressing this. But as we discussed earlier this week, Gracie Abrams has a song on her new album, Death Wish, that has some people, mostly me and Liz woods wondering if it's about tailored.
B
Yeah, I'm not putting my tinfoil hat on for this. Like, I don't believe that it is.
A
Yes. And, like, there was other things. You know, she performed it in 2025, and she said it was about his boyfriend, but he addressed the rumors and nastiness. He set the record straight. He said the studio version predates the live recording by several months. We wrote it actually the week that we recorded. That's so true. I told you things in other songs from Secret of Us Deluxe. In the wake of Daughter from Hell coming out, people were like, wait, what about the original version? This is the original version. Regarding speculation that it's about tailored, he said, yeah, definitely not. It was written at a time when Gracie was writing about a friend's ex being in a bad relationship.
B
Okay. He is sort of, like, parroting her.
A
I just want to say, like, I can understand. I can accept that it's not about Taylor, but writing about your. Your friend's ex, like, it's just so. And it's such, like, a strong song. Like, I don't have that strong of feelings about my friend's ex. I don't know.
B
Actually, Megan Maroney's, like, number one hit that, like, the first ever song she wrote is about her friend's boyfriend.
A
What song he.
B
Don't make you wonder.
A
That's not.
B
That's the only part that I know. It's complimentary.
A
Tennessee.
B
And it's because it's her friend that just got married. So she, like. I saw that her wedding speech, like, went viral.
A
That, like, you know, I guess Gracie's young, so, like, her friendships are like, like.
B
Yeah. And, you know, like, young girls are
A
always, like, for, like, inspiration everywhere.
B
Yes, of course. Cuz as a songwriter, you can't, like, only bleed out for yourself. Like, sometimes he said to seek inspiration.
A
He said. So it was for that. About that kind of person. I think I wouldn't even actually know who the person is.
B
I'm like, I just are being the one to set the record straight.
A
Shout out to Hannah Daly at Billboard for asking the scary questions. Just like, did you see that clip from our competitors at popcast, the New York Times? They asked Olivia Rodrigo about, like, the Taylor SW Beef.
B
She gets asked about it actually quite a bit to ask, like, face to face on a podcast. Like, is.
A
I thought that was, like, so brain.
B
And she always gives, like, the same.
A
Yeah.
B
Sort of packaged. Not believable. You see that New York magazine wrote an article like, that literally said exactly what you Said about Olivia Rodrigo dating someone in finance.
A
Yes, I did. And I felt very, like, validated that there. That was their thought as well. And I think the person who wrote it, like, is, like, a proud communist.
B
She's a socialist. And she was like. But I get it. Like, we basically. We all know how to get dicked down by finance bros. Like, it was basically what we said.
A
She was, like, coming at it from, like, another angle. Complimentary, like, as a socialist.
B
Like.
A
Yeah, but we're saying the same thing.
B
Yeah.
A
And, like, we agree.
B
Yeah.
A
You know what I mean?
B
World peace.
A
Yeah. Like, I think Olivia Rodrigo, like, might spawn world peace 1000%. You can come together, like, and, like, be together. Be one.
B
Yeah. She gets asked about the Taylor thing quite a bit. We never get anything. Like, everything she says is so generic.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. And it doesn't color what I think at all because it's just, like, pr,
A
but, like, it's crazy to ask her that too. I know.
B
Because, like, obviously when you sit down with a celebrity, maybe if you. We don't interview people, like, a lot. Maybe if we did, like, you grow a set of balls. Because I would be like, yeah, Taylor Swift. Like, I would just be, like, scared.
A
Yeah. Like, saying whatever she said. Yeah, no, you're not.
B
And you're so right about that. I would be like, yeah, yeah, no, 100%.
A
And, like, people thought there was, like, a little bit of shade in what she said, but of course, like, you over. She can't get away with saying anything. But she. She just, like, she talked a lot about how it was, like, you know, great learning, blah, blah, blah. And how, like, she just, like, it's important her to treat everyone like kindness and respect.
B
And so it's like, well, why are you bringing that up?
A
It's giving.
B
Like, I wasn't treated with kindness.
A
She's disrespectful. Yeah, it's giving. No, but I'm gonna lay off because, like, there's no good way to answer that question. And, like, you don't want to be in, like, Taylor's crosshairs. So, like, you just want to get through the question.
B
And I'm sure she knows every time she sits down for an interview, she's going to be asked to it.
A
No, I think, really. I think it's really inappropriate that you do. Like, I. I love your. Your bravery, but I think it's inappropriate, like, to ask about this, like, drama with this, like, big, scary artist that, like, there's say there is real drama and there is. What can she say? What, you really want her to like compromise her career by like actually telling you what happened?
B
Right, right.
A
And the fact that you say she's asked about it every time. Well then stop asking. You have the answer. You should be watching. You should be watching her previous interviews interview her. Yeah.
B
You never get new information. So it's just bad journalism.
A
And like journalists ask the same question. Like when they all ask someone the same question, that just means you haven't watched their like previous interviews. I want like you asking new questions. So while I commend the balls and I personally hadn't heard her talk about it before, like, I do think it's. It's not right. And it's like it's not going to engender them to want to be on your show when they're being asked like hard, uncomfortable questions.
B
Yeah, yeah. And also she was sitting in the middle and like one of them was to her right and one of them was to her left, which I think is just like a really like she was like talking to both of them like right, left, right, left. Like a tennis match. I just like. It was weird.
A
Yeah.
B
Speaking of, I meant to tell you, I drove past the movie theater in Southampton yesterday and they are playing the Odyssey and imax. Cuz we were saying that like we really want to see it, but they say it's not worth seeing if it's not an imax. And I was like, well, there's definitely not an IMAX in the Hamptons. There is. I'm just saying we could like.
A
Sure, let's go.
B
I just feel like low key. I'm not gonna like it cuz like
A
I feel like we should, we should see it like for this show.
B
Like what is it?
A
Like we used to do Love island like seven nights a week. We can go to the movies, a three hour movie.
B
And like it's gonna be like dumb but like the Odyssey is like a fake story. Right? It's like, it's just like a made up story.
A
Yeah.
B
It's about Greek gods though.
A
There is some. Yeah.
B
Are all the characters Greek gods or like. Or are they just Greeks and they're in the horse? Like, I don't really know.
A
It's not Trojan Horse.
B
There is Trojan Horse.
A
Trojan Horse is part of Odyssey.
B
I saw a clip on TikTok.
A
Are you sure?
B
Thousand percent. Yeah.
A
I love Trojan Horse.
B
Where they hide.
A
Yeah. Oh my God, it's genius.
B
I saw like someone talking about it's
A
Trojan Horse in Odyssey.
B
Oh, and I made Ben because the
A
Trojan horse is not okay. I'M looking at two conflicting things. AI Says yes, but only briefly. Odysseus. Odysseus actually devised the trick. So the wooden horse is mentioned during the story, but the event takes place before the timeline of the Odyssey.
B
Well, actually, what I saw was that somebody complaining that chronologically the horse shouldn't be here.
A
Well, I don't want to see any spoilers.
B
Yeah, okay. I. I do want to see it. I just feel like I'm gonna spend all this time watching it. Like, I'm not gonna understand it or like it. Like, I do think it's maybe just like a little bit above my.
A
You're very smart and, like, you're smarter than the average.
B
Well, that's true because I didn't fall for Nickelandria.
A
Right. So, like, I think you'll get it. It's not. It's a movie. It's a movie. Like, they wanted to appeal to the masses. I think you're not giving yourself enough credit.
B
Okay.
A
Nor Christopher Nolan.
B
Okay.
A
Like, this is.
B
He's kind of cute.
A
No, I don't know him.
B
Yeah, I've been seeing him a lot. Like on press and stuff. Because, like, when they interview the cast, like, he's there too, you know, and
A
so, like, is Alandria gonna be going to the premiere with Travis Scott?
B
Probably. Like, I'm ready for that. I just want to.
A
What is life?
B
That's what it should have been all along.
A
Yeah.
B
She really got in her own way because she should have been going to premieres and things of that nature with him long ago.
A
Yeah. Trips to the Cape.
B
Exactly.
A
Clam makes.
B
Yeah.
A
Are you ready for our fourth story?
B
Thank you for keeping me in the loop on what number. No, I'm not. Is it our fourth story that's brought to you by Amazon Prime's Ride or Die.
A
Yes, it is. It very much is.
B
Ride or Die is high octane and action comedy starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham. Actually, OB's recommend starting 6 to 12 months before you even start trying. So when you become pregnant, obviously pregnancy pulls heavily from your nutrient reserves and a lot of women don't even know that they start pregnancy low on those nutrients. So really is better to build up before you need it. Starting early makes it calm and proactive, not an urgent and stressful situation. So Parallel has prenatals that are designed for the not trying yet phase. So they have something called a conception support pack, which is exactly for this time period in between. It's not a generic prenatal. It includes nutrients that obs are prioritizing before conception, like Coq 10, DHA, Folate, Choline. It was founded by practicing OBGYN. If you guys are pregnant Swirlies. You might know they're prenatals because they have amazing prenatals. But I love that they come up with this thing for. Because I'm always on prenatals. Like before I got pregnant, I was on prenatals for like two years. They're just like, good for your hair. And my doctor was like, yeah, it's, it's really never too early. I'm on them now. I'm always taking them for a million different reasons. So I love that they have this pre conception support pack. It's so smart. It functions basically as a really high quality daily multivitamin. If your timeline shifts totally fine, you're just still being supported by your body. So if you are pregnant, if you are trying, if you are postpartum, you definitely need to check out parallel. Can't recommend it enough. We have an exclusive code. New customers can use code toast to get 20 off their first order@ParallelHealth.com toast. That's P E R E L E L Health.com toast. Toast.
A
Thank you. Slash Turt.
B
You're welcome.
A
Our next story is kind of crazy. I don't know if you've seen this. Chelsea Handler laid out her strict rules for family vacation.
B
Okay, I was so confused. I saw this, like six page statement, this slide. I didn't know if it was a joke or who she was talking to.
A
Yeah. So I read all of it and I literally like have put together what I think this is about, but I have no idea. So she.
B
And she's talking about an actual vacation. I don't know if she was making like, euphemisms.
A
No, she's talking about an actual vacation. I guess she takes a lot of vacations. She brings her family on vacation. She has five siblings. And then all their kids and nephews, like, combined. And she, they all go on vacation together to her various homes in LA and Mallorca and the Vineyard. And she, I guess, wrote them a letter chiding them for their behavior on vacation. It is very, very long, but I will read some of it. You can understand the tone. Out of nowhere, she posted this with the caption, it's my family. It's family vacation season. Which means it's time to reread the rules. If you want a vacation with me, these are the rules to all my nuggets. I want to start this email by telling each of you A, B, C, D, E, F, G and F that I love you for all different sorts of reasons. And there is nothing any of you could ever do to get me to unlove you. It can never happen. So it was with great love and hope that we can use this as an opportunity to get better at being together. Our family is dysfunctional and that's what families are. What we need to work on, however, is Matt Manners. There was a definite shortfall of manners on this trip and I left this trip feeling embarrassed and taken advantage of. Say hello to people who are working in the house, who are delivering something or who work for me. You don't have to have conversations with the housekeepers or workers, but you do need to acknowledge their existence out of my, out of decency and respect. This goes for my home in LA or Mallorca, the Vineyard or wherever we happen to be vacationing. She said these are the points in bold, but these she said, I treat my employees like family and I, I expect you to do the same. You know, if someone's carrying boxes, help them. Whether you're a boy or a girl, open the door. It's a nice and decent thing to do to be a conscious, to be conscientious of the others who are also on the vacation with you girls. Be kind and thoughtful to my guests. Do not roll your eyes repeatedly or even ever. Then she says, do not consume copious amounts of alcohol on multiple occasions. Do not complain about food while you are eating it. This happened at every meal. You are not at home, you are a guest. Clean your plates after you eat. Don't put them in the sink and don't leave them where you ate them. Open the dishwasher and put them inside. Do not litter on the grounds of someone else's house. She talks about how they rented the house and how would the owner feel with beer cans everywhere? How do you think these people would react to their properly property being littered with beer bottles? Do you think they would ever want to run to us again? I understand that not everyone wants to and this is just slide 4 out of like 8. I understand that not everyone wants to hang out with their family 24 7. But I'm going to require that when you are with the family, you are not on your phone or playing video games. You have the entire day to do what you want. You can make the time to be present with the family for an hour or two at night. She goes on in detail about how they should behave, what they have been doing, how she loves, you know, treating them to these trips and it's a big financial burden for her. And she pays the cleaners and she pays for this and that. But she expects people to act At a certain level now. Oh, and by the way, the bottom of this, the. The pages says, I'll have what she's having. So I believe this is an excerpt from her book that came out in 2025. Based on, like, what I've tried to cobble together to understand this.
B
Yeah. Okay, so I think that those are good rules. I just don't know why she's telling this to us and, like, blowing up her family spot. Like, genuinely, she, like, based on what she's told me, like, your family is piece of. Like, that's like, why would you ever want to paint your family in that light? Like, if that's actually what happened, like, good on you for sending that email. Like, these kids need to know. Be nice. What, Whatever. But it's like, why the are you telling me this?
A
Why is it in your book?
B
Why is it on your Instagram?
A
On Instagram, it is so confused. Very odd. And yeah, if you're treating everyone to a trip and they're not acting graciously, they're not saying please and thank you, they're leaving dishes and garbage on the floor, then I guess it's mature of her to, like, write this email and be like, if you want to continue to go on these trips, like, this is how it has to be. But I don't know. I would say, like, maybe don't take everyone on trips. But then she said she now does, like, adults only trips so she can be with her siblings. And then she does, like, trips for the kids.
B
No. And, like, that's all good. Like, why are we talking about this? I don't know why. Why is this now a topic on our podcast?
A
I don't.
B
Chelsea Hitler's family vacation dynamics.
A
And, like, just family look so bad.
B
Like, you make them look like actual animals.
A
Yeah.
B
And I'm not doubting that any of this happened. Like, yeah, they need to start talking to you. Like, kids can, you know, be bad.
A
I didn't even know who these people are. Now I know her siblings names and. And. And they have all these kids. And, like, if I'm their friend at school, I'm like, no, you and your
B
family think I didn't understand at all what I was reading. And I did try. Like, I took, like, five minutes, like, swipe and stuff, and then I stopped caring. And like, now that I think I know. Okay.
A
And maybe she's like, saying it so, like, people will share it as, like, okay, these are really good rules for family vacation. And, like, they are, but it's just, like, so harsh. And it also creates this dynamic of, like, I pay for everything. These are my rules. And every. All of you fall in line. And that's just like a weird dynamic.
B
I agree. Like, when you are the wealthy one and you. You want to be gracious, but if everyone is acting like an animal, like, you sort of do have to throw in, like, yeah, I paid for this. But if you're, like, holding it over everyone, it's like, strip sucks.
A
Like, putting it in your book and putting it on your Instagram.
B
Like, yeah, no, this is weird.
A
I think it's weird that she put it on her Instagram.
B
Completely agree.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah, completely.
A
Yeah. And then our fifth and final story, a Julie Andrews documentary, is coming to Disney Plus.
B
You know what I was just thinking the other day and, like, I know saying this out loud is gonna give me, like, like, shit. Like, I've never seen the Sound of Music. I know.
A
Journey, you would love it. I know.
B
And every time I'm looking for a movie and it comes up, I'm like, ben, you know, I've never seen this. Like, let's watch it. He's like, no, I do want to watch it.
A
We should watch it as a family.
B
Because, like, the kids will love it.
A
The kids will like it.
B
It's what's like, the song from it.
A
Like, there are so many.
B
Oh, the hills are alive with the Sound of Music, for sure.
A
But also raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.
B
Edelweiss. Right? Yeah, I need to watch that.
A
Like, do Ray Me.
B
Of course. Do a Dear.
A
What song isn't from it.
B
Yeah, I know she's in other stuff,
A
but, like, the story, Mary Poppins, she
B
kind of needs a documentary. I love that.
A
Yeah. Princess Diaries. I don't know if everyone knows this. I am being reminded myself that she was voiced Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton.
B
I did not know that. No, she's like, low key queen, legendary. And I think that kids these days, myself included, like, don't even know the breadth of her work. I find it interesting that, like, in everything that she's in, whether it's like, 100 years ago or like, Princess of Genovia, she looks exactly the same. Like, you're telling me that in Sound of Music she's, what, like, 17? She looks 87. Like, she's, like, eternally old.
A
Yeah, but maybe that's just, like, because of the way people, like, looked then.
B
Yeah. Also, it is like, the pixie cut. She's had the pixie cut. Not just in old age. She's had it forever.
A
Yeah.
B
I'd love to see her with, like, a. Like a loose wave, you know, beach wave.
A
Yeah. I think this is gonna be great.
B
Totally. I didn't know, like, Disney plus was, like, doing documentaries. Do you know what I mean?
A
Yeah. It's the same documentarian who did Billie Eilish's documentary, and I very sadly missed that. Also the September issue, which was very good. That was the production company they also did. You never saw September issue?
B
I don't think so.
A
Oh, so good.
B
I do think that it will be well executed.
A
Yeah.
B
And when I think of people who, like, need documentaries, I never would have thought. Julie Andrew, did I tell you guys I watched the Martin Short documentary?
A
You did.
B
I liked it. I've thought about it a couple of times. Like, sometimes I watch documentary and I never think about it again.
A
Yeah.
B
But now I just wait.
A
Do you want to add it to your list of documentaries?
B
No, no, no.
A
That you talk about.
B
But I also talk about Eddie Murphy's documentary a lot.
A
Not more than Martin Short and.
B
Okay.
A
Is there anything you want to add to the list?
B
No. Okay.
A
The list will remain intact.
B
Yeah. Just Lady Gaga, 5 foot 2 and Katy Perry. Pardon me?
A
And Shawn Mendes.
B
Well, no, that's the other list, the bad one. Documentaries that didn't need to be made. Shawn Mendes. Wonder here.
A
Do you have.
B
And it's literally one. Yeah, I don't need to write it down. It's just one.
A
Hold on, let me just search five foot two.
B
Oh. Because we definitely have this.
A
Yeah, we do. I know I do five foot. Did I do numbers? You might have done five.
B
Like, yeah, quotation too.
A
I hope I didn't five foot.
B
Just write Gaga. Okay. Gaga.
A
Here it is
B
shown reverse piece of work.
A
It's under the file of Claudia's repeated stories. And then it's celebrity documentaries. Shawn Mendes versus Lady Gaga.
B
It's. It's perfect. Like documentaries that needed to be made and documentaries that did not need to be made.
A
Yes.
B
That's John Mendez Wonder. Like, literally nobody needed that. Nobody in the whole world. Even Shawn Mendez's number one fan didn't need that. But even Lady Gaga's number one hater
A
needed five foot two. Yeah. Yeah.
B
And like five Foot two two is. Can be swapped with Joan Rivers piece of work. Two perfect. Just two perfect documentaries.
A
That is just.
B
Yeah. And if you're looking for Joan River's piece of work, like, you can only watch it on YouTube and you have to buy it. And I do own it.
A
It's in the hall of fame.
B
It is in the hall of fame.
A
It might be the number one documentary of all time.
B
I know. I could literally quote it. Like, it's so good.
A
Yeah.
B
Well, those are the fast size stories. And I feel as though you definitely need to know the first one just to, like, remind everyone that we were right.
A
You needed to know the second one that. That Whitney Rose, Justin Rose, like, things
B
we were right about.
A
Yeah, I was just, like, searching Nicholandri on Twitter because I, like, want to know what the streets are saying.
B
They're. They're doubting, Right?
A
Yes. There's definitely a lot.
B
No one's, like, grieving the loss of this relationship.
A
Oh, no. I saw, like, I saw something.
B
Well, there are, like, the people who started the whole nickelandria fandom and, like, those fan edits during the season. These were two people. If you're not familiar, they were online.
A
I don't want to put this person on blast, but that's.
B
I can't stop shaking. I put. Put so much love and effort into Nickelandra and this happens. I think this is satire. They literally saved my life and I owe them so much. I don't have. I don't know how I can survive this. That's satisfying.
A
Are you sure?
B
Absolutely. That's funny.
A
You never know.
B
I know especially because, like, people who. NicolasAndrew was like, I'm created.
A
I thought that was real.
B

The Toast – Episode Summary
Podcast: The Toast (Dear Media)
Episode: The Nickelandria Audit
Date: Thursday, July 23rd, 2026
Hosts: Jackie & Claudia Oshry
This episode of The Toast is a spirited deep dive into the latest pop culture happenings, with a particular focus on the highly-publicized breakup of Nickelandria (Alandria Carthon & Nick Van Steenberg) from Love Island USA. Jackie and Claudia, who have long stood as skeptics of this relationship, bask in the vindication as their “boots on the ground” sleuthing proves prophetic. The show is interspersed with lively updates about the hosts’ lives, insights from reality TV, and witty commentary on everything from influencer water bottles to family vacations gone awry.
“We’ve been saying this is a fake relationship. We got so much hate for it. Now everyone’s reaction… Duh, PR relationship is over.”—Claudia ([18:40])
“There's really not much to say when you've been right. Except, of course, I told you so.”—Claudia ([23:19])
“The way I thought I would feel about her when they broke up is not how I feel about her... Well, you're both liars.”—Claudia ([27:10], [27:18])
On being vindicated in the Nickelandria Audit:
“People have gone to prison for worse. I mean, for less.” —Claudia ([25:02])
“At the end of the day, Nicolandria, at its core, was just genuine dishonesty. And that's never a good look.” —Claudia ([24:54])
On social group exclusion and reality TV friendships:
“There are multiple pockets of friend groups she could be friends with… it's a red flag.” —Jackie ([24:15])
On influencer burnout and comparison:
“Try being an influencer for a day.” —Claudia ([12:35])
On Chelsea Handler’s vacation email:
“Why would you ever want to paint your family in that light? Like, if that's actually what happened… why are you telling me this?” —Claudia ([53:20])
On documentaries:
“Documentaries that needed to be made and documentaries that did not need to be made. Lady Gaga, 5 foot 2—needed. Shawn Mendes Wonder—literally nobody needed that.” —Claudia ([58:09])
Jackie and Claudia keep the conversation sharp, playful, and authentic, with plenty of in-jokes and cross-references to their TikTok-savvy “reader”/“swirly” audience. They trade in pop culture fluency, skepticism toward manufactured narratives, and a through-line of influencer-life commentary.
For listeners, this episode is a whirlwind tour through the latest reality TV drama, influencer industry quirks, and the enduring importance of calling out inauthenticity. The hosts’ mix of humor, skepticism, and pop-culture knowledge make this a must-listen for anyone following Love Island or today’s digital celebrity ecosystem.
