A
Good morning, girlies. It's the Toast.
B
It's Jackson Claude, and we're your host.
A
It's your favorite show, the best five things you need to know. We'll start your day off Swirly. It's the Toast.
B
They sound amazing.
A
Welcome back to the Toast and happy Tuesday.
B
Tuesday, period. You could hope for later in the week. We hope and we dream.
A
I was shocked to find out that it's only Tuesday when, like, today's such a Tuesday.
B
When I woke up this morning and, like, did the quick math of what day it is. Like, yesterday was only Monday.
A
Very disappointing stuff.
B
And it was a long day. But Tuesdays are exciting because it's a big Tuesday.
A
We've got Summer House reunion tonight.
B
We've got Love island premiere.
A
When one door closes, another one.
B
Open your toasters.
A
You see they dropped another islander from the villa. No. Yeah. A guy whomst.
B
Was it sincere?
A
I forget what it was that he did.
B
No, the cast member. Sincere.
A
Oh. I thought it was, like. Was a sincere action. I don't know. Like, I don't know.
B
You can speak to the sincerity.
A
No, but I'll never get to know him because he's been dropped from the villa. I do believe he was actually dropped before the other girl. He never even made air. But people are just finding out that she's actually the second person to be dropped from the villa. He was dropped before her, but we're just finding out about it. He never made it to air.
B
He wasn't in the package.
A
Like, they found out just in the nick of time.
B
Oh, great. Great. I mean, good. What did he do?
A
I don't remember. But, you know, it was along the lines of, like, your regular degular slur. It's. I feel like that's, like, the Love
B
island
A
bar is, like, the slur. Right?
B
Yeah.
A
Everyone who's slurp slurs. Alyssa, Sierra.
B
New girl whose name I never knew, which is good, because she can go on to lead a regular life. As if this never. Like, I didn't even say her name in the story yesterday. I didn't. Not because I was trying to protect her. Because it was, like, not irrelevant. Yeah. And it's, like, good. You know what? No harm, no foul.
A
It's true.
B
It's like, go back even here to your job.
A
Yeah. So that starts tonight. Like, I have to get into the mental head space. But it's good. I kind of, like, don't have a lot of things to watch. Last night I started watching off campus again just because, like, I felt like I didn't like, give it the proper. Like, I had such a bad attitude going into it last time, and you
B
just won't watch Italian Job.
A
Anything to not watch the Italian Job, Ben.
B
I feel like you keep forgetting that. What time do you get in bed to watch tv?
A
That feels, like, really embarrassing.
B
No. Okay, I just want to send you 7:01. I want to send you a scheduled text message at 7:02 when you're scrolling it occurred. Okay.
A
But Ben was out playing basketball with your husband, and it feels like something I should watch with Ben.
B
I agree. It's a joint. It's a joint partnership.
A
It's like, what could I do alone? Rewatch off campus.
B
Okay. I finished my book last night. Yesterday, the book that.
A
The name on everybody's lips.
B
It is. We are recording redheads today.
A
I don't know if you saw and I had seen this before. We talked about it on the toast that, like, actually, the audience of people is quite divided on who the book is about because a lot of people are saying it's more Ruby Frank than Ballerina Farm. Although Ruby Frank was not a trad wife.
B
Right.
A
I guess she was a traditional wife in the sense that she was, like, at home with the kids, but she wasn't making butter or bread or farming.
B
So I would say until 85% of the book, it's Ballerina Farm only. And then once the psychological thriller starts happening, like, when things start to piece together of us understanding, like, what's going on, because the book is confusing. Like, how did we go back into the past? Like, where's the time machine? Then the last 15, I'm like, oh, inspired by Ruby Frank.
A
Got it. Okay. So like a blend.
B
Yeah. But mostly ballerina. And it's just, like, so unfair because it's like the book about Ballerina Farm and it paints her out to be
A
a monster every time. Like, somebody does, like, a cultural commentation. Whether it's fiction or non fiction, on Ballerina Farm, it's always from a negative angle. Yeah, like, I'm ready for the Ballerini tell all. Like, she should come on this podcast. This is a safe space. Like, I want to know, like, do you care that you're not a ballerina anymore? Because I really feel like you don't. Like, no.
B
Why would she care?
A
I know, but everyone's like, he stole her dreams of being a ballerina. And it's like, well, she also, like, grew up and had kids. And like, you ballerina forever.
B
All ballerinas have to throw in the tutu at some point.
A
Except Misty Copeland.
B
And actually she has a studio at her farm where she can mean all she wants.
A
Plie.
B
She can. Ballerine to her heart's content.
A
Correct. I would love to chat.
B
It was really frustrating. I'm excited that we're doing a whole episode because I have so many different thoughts. Like, the book was so outrageous and was making, like, so many different points. And, like, it was just. It was a lot. Now, of course, it's going to be a sensational book because I think it's about, like, one of the most fascinating topics, which is, like, female influencers. Fame, farm, family, faith. So whether or not it's a good book, I understand why it's the book,
A
why everyone's talking about it and, you
B
know, it's being turned into a movie. Anne Hathaway is playing the lead. And then in the acknowledgment, she said, like, thank you. So I, you know, I was so fortunate to put this book in front of people before it was even done to get their feedback. Anne Hathaway being one of those people. Interesting. Meanwhile, it's her first book. So how did your first book reach Anne Hathaway?
A
Like, how did everybody know it was gonna be the book?
B
And Amazon? I think everyone was just excited to, like, read something salacious about Ballerina.
A
Okay. I just wanna. I didn't read the book, but I don't think that's a good casting. She's playing Hannah.
B
Ballerina, Natalie, whatever. I don't think that's a good casting. Natalie Heller Mills.
A
But I just know Daisy Edgar Jones is somewhere just kicking her. Like, she's no longer the book girl. Anne Hathaway is.
B
But we did need someone a little bit older.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
Like, a little bit. Because it's.
A
How old are the kids?
B
There are so many.
A
Like, how old's the youngest one?
B
10.
A
Oh, okay. So Anne Hathaway.
B
But at one point, you know, she has her first.
A
Oh, right, right, right.
B
So it's coming in.
A
Age tale.
B
It spans a lot of time.
A
Maybe I will read it.
B
I would love to get your thoughts.
A
You know, I still have to read Lena, Jenna.
B
I'm like, I would love to get your thoughts because there's no way anyone comes away from this book with, like, not strong opinions because it's a very raging rod. Whether or not you're like, yes, stick it to the man speak for the women. Or you're like, this is a farce.
A
Yeah. To me, like, I just don't. I don't get involved in, like, mocking trad wife culture. It's just such a low hanging fruit. Like everybody does it. Like, I'm just, I don't know, I'm much more creative in that.
B
Yeah, I just, I. I don't understand like the point of the book, like, what she's trying to say because it's like she's obviously clowning on women who like follow a traditional trajectory, who like, you know, center faith and family and. Okay. But then she's also clowning on like the liberal women. That ballerina went to Harvard. Like, not ballerina, yesteryear. Went to Harvard with. She went to Harvard.
A
She's just a woman who hates all women.
B
It seems like it. And then at what point I kind of love that.
A
I just wanted to.
B
It seems like we're about to like a third kind of woman who maybe, maybe she's endorsing, but that person turns out to be like so awful.
A
So it's more of a commentation, a commentary on women in general.
B
Like how, I guess women just can't win.
A
Right.
B
But I don't feel that way.
A
I don't either.
B
So I disagree.
A
Okay.
B
I think like, there's hard things about being a woman. I think sometimes, you know, you follow a path that's not right for you or, you know, you get boxed in somewhere. But the idea that like all women are unhappy.
A
Yeah. Like all roads, whether you're a working mom, whether you're a stay at home mom, whether you're a stay at home mom who works, like, they're all bad.
B
They're all bad.
A
Bad message.
B
I actually don't like the message is that they're all bad. That society hates women, America hates women, the world is set up for women to fail. And well, the world is set up
A
for women to fail. I do want to say I agree with her on that, but like, I don't like, like the woman experience being told like from all angles, like so negative.
B
Yeah. There's not a good one.
A
Like no. No one's life that you want to emulate. No, hate that. Hate, hate, hate. Like seriously hate.
B
Yeah. So that's why I don't get like, what. The message.
A
And not that it matters, but does the author herself have children?
B
I don't know. I was trying to like learn more about this off author. I think that she's married, but I wasn't seeing children, which I need to, I need to, I need to confirm that before the episode because that will like, inform my opinion even more.
A
Because, like, it's easy to like commentate on things you know nothing about.
B
Yeah. Like this woman in the book. I don't want to spoil how many kids she has because it's actually part of this. She doesn't have kids in the book.
A
The author.
B
The author. But in the book, she has, like, you know, a lot of kids and she hates motherhood. Like, she hates every minute. I'm not reading this book. I know.
A
It's like, I just want to say I'm not reading this book. I don't understand.
B
I can't understand someone who would have five plus children and. And doesn't enjoy being a mother. Like.
A
Well, I think the comment, like, the commentary is like, she's being forced to.
B
No, she's not. Well, I don't want to. Okay.
A
What?
B
She is so not being forced to.
A
Okay.
B
She's forcing them.
A
Okay. So I just want to say that, like, I'm not reading this book because.
B
Update Author might have a child.
A
We're not clear. I just don't believe in inundating your mind with negative things. Life is hard enough. So I'll read Lena Dunham instead. Or I'll just watch off campus for the third time.
B
Okay, well, anyways, it's just a. There's just a lot to chew on.
A
Oh, can I clue you into, like, something fun that's going on in the off campus sphere? First of all, they've been renewed for a second season. They started filming yesterday and like, one of the breakout stars from this first season, not the main girl, but she's the main character in the next season. You know, a lot of them are in relationships, but, like, they're these young hot things. First one has fallen. Her and her fiance broke up. Okay, That's a big deal.
B
Wait, say that again.
A
So one of the actresses, she was on the first season, she was not like the main girl, but she's the breakout star because she's in this other couple that's being featured in the second season. Okay, So a lot of these young up and coming actors are almost like all in relationships, but they're like hot young things who, like, are on this seen now the first couple has fallen the girl. Her and her fiance have not lasted. They broke up.
B
Okay.
A
And like, one of them is married to his high school sweetheart. Like, it's. Sorry. Engaged to his high school sweetheart. Like, it's all really cute, but, like, I kind of need them to be single because they need to do that Riverdale thing where they all, like, mesh and date. Like, I do think it'll affect the outcome of the show. So I'm glad that Ally, I think her real name is Mika and her man have broken up. But like I need others.
B
Oh, you're glad that they're breaking?
A
Yeah. Well, you know how I feel like when it's a girl, like she's being held back by her like a loser boyfriend. Like she's a star now, she needs to date other stars. But if it's a guy and I'm like you very Robert her tock, I'm like, you left your wife at home. Like, I think it's disgusting.
B
But on the other hand, like if they do live an ordinary life, they can be original and violent in their work.
A
Very true.
B
So sometimes that stability at home, like creates for like great art. Conditions for great art. So you can argue both sides.
A
You have.
B
I, I thought it was going to be sad that they broke up. Like no one taste of faming. You're out the door.
A
Exactly. I love that. I love that for a woman. Like if men do that, like that's seriously. So Robert heard you back. I know it pains you for me to talk about.
B
It's not like that.
A
Well, the thing about Robert heard to back and I can admit that like what he did was bad. Of course. Like leaving his ex wife for a standing with the stars partner. Especially like the wife that's been with him for 100 years. They're the same age. Yeah. Like he's with his new girl now for a long time. They had twins. Like at some point you can move on. You do, you have to like, you have no choice. That's what I mean. Like, you know, with west and Amanda, if they go on to get married and have kids, like, I will move on.
B
Yeah.
A
But until then, obviously. So I think let today mark the first day that I'm moving on from Robert Herjavec.
B
Okay, that's great.
A
Maybe past the they've crossed the threshold threshold for like however long.
B
I feel like you need to find like a. Just a different example to cite, you know, it's true.
A
Oh, I'm sorry. One more thing I want to tell you about off campus because I know how much you care is like this song that's going viral from it which is like playing in the show during like the two protagonists, they finally get together. Then there's like a love montage of them just like being in love and like having sex and like going to class and this song, it's so good. And you know who sings it, like such a random pop culture crossover. Do you know, does the name G Flip mean anything to you?
B
Chrishell's?
A
Chrishell's wife.
B
Wife. They got married.
A
Yeah. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's like a big Australian artist.
B
Yeah.
A
And so this is like a huge mom of her. She's all over my TikTok now. It's like the best thing to ever happen to her. She's like, I can't fucking wait to do shows in the States. And it's a really good song. I actually think you would like it. It's called Bed on Fire.
B
I'm sure I would like it. I've seen videos of her singing before.
A
I've seen videos of her playing drums.
B
Like, I've seen videos. She sang a. So like It's Raining Men, but she changed it to It's Raining Them for the non binary community. It was really good. I think she's. She, they, she, they.
A
Okay, so she works.
B
Like, for me, all that aside, It's Raining Them was very good.
A
I love that. Yeah, I've seen her perform quite a bit. Like, she's always, like, playing drums, singing, doing guitar and harmonica at the same time. She's like one of those. And I've never actually heard any of her original music. And this is my first time. It's actually really good, just non binary. Oh, sorry. Anyways, that's what's going on on off campus.
B
Great.
A
You think you're gonna watch? No, no. It's not for you.
B
Aside from you mentioning it.
A
Has it not penetrated your.
B
Not really. Like, you mentioned it and then one person in our chat. No.
A
Oh, Casey. Yeah. But Satchel also was posting about it a lot.
B
But, like, she posts about a lot of stuff that's like, not for me. So, like, I'm not like. It was just you. And in our group chat, our friend was like, I'm watching this. And that's really it. Like, I wouldn't really have heard of it if not for that. It hasn't, like, penetrated offline.
A
I got so into, like, the for you page that I ended up on, like, some Canadian, like, Congress. They were petitioning because the show was filmed in Canada. It's set in Canada, but, like, because of Canadian tax laws, like, they make no money from it. And somebody was just, like, talking about off campus in Congress or Parliament, whatever they call it. That's what I knew. I was like, maybe I should step away.
B
That's good.
A
Yeah. What are the stories like today?
B
They're good. Lots to discuss. Like, need to discuss information. Yeah. Like, every story was sort of like a need.
A
Yeah. I need to talk about one of these stories in Particular.
B
And everything else is just like, you know, good. Like, good. You know, what we have to talk about. It's all I'll say, actually, really good. Yeah, I think we should get into it.
A
Oh, my God. Okay, wait. I'm like, so feel ready. And we also have deer toasters. Actually, today's Tuesday, so let's definitely get
B
into the fast five stories that you do need to know.

It's something I struggle with. Wil Hint is so great because it's crisp water with a very delicate little whisper of fruit that really makes your brain go, wait, I want more of that. So I love when people get creative with water, because drinking water is just, like, not for everyone, and it can be really hard. The great part about Hint is that it tastes so great, but it has no sugar, no sweeteners, and no calories. So it's literally just water infused with fruit essence. And then somehow you're standing in your room in a to lay for plans, surrounded by clothes, acting like you've never gotten dressed before. So that exact scenario, which we've all been in, is why Roback is a major part of our summer rotation. We don't need to look like we're training for Wimbledon, but we do need to look like we could be invited to a country club at any moment and be dressed appropriately.
B
We could.
A
And we've talked about this before. Roback has designed G2G which has got to go technology, which means that their active dresses have built in shorts that you can pull down when you go to the bathroom without having to pull off your entire dress. Because I know a lot of us love wearing active dresses, especially in the summer. But if you've ever been in a public bathroom completely naked because you wore an active dress and you just have to pee, you just know how humiliating that is. But the ones from Roback are fabulous. They have these little shorts. You just slide down the shorts and your dress stays on. Like no boobs out in the stall. Anyone who's ever worn an active dress knows how how annoying that is. So if you're on your golf, tennis, pickleball, or just looking cute while holding a nice coffee journey, you've got to try their skorts. They come in so many fun summer colors like poppy red, bright green, summery blue, and then of course your neutrals too. The waistband is so soft. They are light and airy and you do not feel like you need like you are overheating five minutes after walking outside. So if your summer closet needs pieces that are cute, functional, and do not require a full styling department, go check out Roback and our code toast on roback.com gets you 20 off your first order through the end of this week. B
Thank you Turtlene.
A
It's been an absolute pleasure.
B
Our first story so Taylor Swift announces her new song for Toy Story 5. After much speculation, she has shared that she wrote an original song for Toy Story 5 with Jack Antonoff called I knew it.
A
I knew you so amazing. I think it's a lot of drama for, like, a one random song on a soundtrack. Having said that, I firmly believe it's gonna be, like, the best song ever. I just, like, have such a feeling. Also, the way it was described, it's country. Yeah. Like, Disney released, like, a little press release and I'm like, did you say country? So Taylor going back to her country roots, like, means the world to me. Maybe it's like, sense because, like, Woody and they're like.
B
Yeah. But maybe it's like Jesse's, you know, ballad moment.
A
Maybe it's not a musical.
B
In the billboard. In the billboard, it's Jesse dancing.
A
It's true.
B
She makes the moves up as she goes. So maybe it's like Jessie, Jesse's having,
A
like, a crisis of conscience.
B
Or maybe like, Jesse's realizing that she loves Woody. I knew it. I knew you.
A
Are they a couple, I believe.
B
Yeah. They're not brother and sister.
A
No. No. But have they like. Or do they live together?
B
Like, so I've really only seen the first one comprehensively, and she's not even in it. She comes around in, like, the second one when Woody starts to discover, like, his backstory as a character. You know, Woody's Roundup and Bullseye his horse and Jesse the Roundup. Yeah.
A
Woody, they're siblings. They're considered siblings according to Wikipedia. Okay, okay. Well, that's not what the song is about. Maybe there's someone else.
B
Maybe Jesse's in love with Buzz. I love that. Yeah.
A
Buzz is obviously her brother's best friend. Buzz is obviously, like, the jock. He's the Garrett Graham, if you will. Of the. Of the pleasure. No, not pleasure, Jess. Treasure chest. Sorry. I'm really sorry. That's disgusting. Moving on. I have something to say about this. Like, so a lot of people were very quick to point out that Gracie Abrams has a song that's titled pretty much the exact.
B
It's like. I know it. I know you. Right.
A
So what's Taylor's?
B
Taylor's. I knew it. I knew you.
A
Taylor's Grace's was. I knew it. I know you. Like, she changed.
B
I know you.
A
And I just want to say I think it's really crazy because first of all, this is like, not a title of a song. Like, sometimes. Yes, you can say two people can name a song.
B
Like, Love Story.
A
Yeah, well, sure, yeah.
B
Yes.
A
Something very generic or like, you know, I love you, do you love me? Like, this is literally, like, not a song title. It's like a collection of weird words. The fact that two people could possibly, like, have parallel thinking and come to the conclusion. No. Two people who are close and write songs together. No. And I just think it's really crazy because Taylor's like the copy queen, you know, famously Olivia Rodrigo, and she's like, very. I think it's one of the things I love and people love about her most is, like, she's kind of militaristic about, you know, credit and quality and, you know, taking care of, you know, the song songwriters. And so, like, it's low key crazy. This is such a random, obscure, quite frankly, bad name for a song. The odds that someone else in her circle. I think it's crazy.
B
Yeah. Is it a big Gracie song or like, you really. I had never heard every album to have.
A
I think it's an insider's note.
B
But Taylor's an insider and Taylor, like, knows music.
A
Yeah.
B
Did Jack work on that song with Gracie? Maybe it's a sparky P Street situation where he gave them the same routine.
A
Jack Antonoff is a sarky plaster of his generation.
B
It is. He's giving everyone the same routine synth is the routine.
A
Did Jack Antonov. Okay, so let's go to the Gracie Abrams song. I've never even heard it. I knew it. I know you. Let's see. Okay, so this song, behind the Music. So funny when I Google it, Gracie, the Taylor Swift thing just comes up. Up. Song and lyrics by Gracie Abrams. Let's see who produced it. You could see that on Spotify. I'm listening to the song. Oh, I just played it. Okay, hang on, hang on. Explore song DNA. Does that tell you oh. View song credits. Okay. Oh. Oh. Audrey Hobert wrote it. That's. I knew you'd be at the party drinking a Coke and Bacardi.
B
Sue me.
A
I want to be. Sue me out. Do you not know that song?
B
No.
A
So, like, Gracie has, like, a ghostwriter. Her name is Audrey.
B
I've heard about this. It's like Julia Michaels and.
A
Yes. So it's like, then Audrey released her own song and her own ep, which is like, very insider. But people say it's like, one of the best pop eps of all time. Because she is, like, sort of the brains behind a lot of, like, that whispery talk singing that Gracie has been come to know for. Oh, I found the rat.
B
You know Jackie Antonoff?
A
No, Aaron Dessner. The Rat. Aaron Dessner produced, engineered, and performs on the song. I'm just kidding. I don't think that he had. There's a lot of people to work on a song.
B
He's the rat.
A
So, yeah, production and engineering. That's. We found the rat. It's Aaron Desner.
B
Like, is there any way that Taylor didn't know that this was a Gracie song? Like, she found out yesterday when everyone was like, this is a Gracie song.
A
So the problem when you are like,
B
the originality, what status of Taylor and Gracie at the most positive. Positive. Okay.
A
I assume she'll be at the wedding. The only problem is, like, when you are the copy police, you're held to a higher standard. And so, like, maybe we wouldn't be talking about this. We'd be like, oh, it's just crazy. That too. Unfortunately, she put a target on her back when she decided to become, like, sort of the hall monitor of the music industry. And so I do give her a slap on the wrist for this because let's say she came to the conclusion completely on her own. Like, she should have changed it just out of, like, like, how this make her. Makes her look really.
B
What if it was totally in earnest and then it's like it's some sort of admission of guilt if, like, you change it just because someone else has it. Like, if it really wasn't an original idea. The.
A
With song titles, like, I always think, like, you could literally choose any lyrical chorus to make the song. So it's not like the song has to be called this.
B
Yeah, but she's so scrupled. I really actually don't think that she swiped the name in any way.
A
No. By the way, I just want to say I don't think that she swiped the name.
B
Apparently Jesse says it in Toy Story. Two doesn't matter. Like I'm saying like Jesse says other stuff, of course.
A
Like it literally doesn't matter. Like just optics wise.
B
Yeah, and I know what you mean.
A
Like once you change it, you're saying I did something wrong and I didn't know.
B
And it's like if you, if you operated completely honestly, why should you have to change the name of your song? There are a million song titles out there. If you changed every one, that sounds like another one. I know this isn't a unique one, but like you have to be able to be yourself and creative and.
A
True, of course, but you're also like the copy police. And so that comes with.
B
When there's been copying.
A
That comes with its own set. Yeah, but people accused. I actually don't really like, like, I mean we can get into the Olivia Rodrigo of it all, but sometimes like that's the music. That's what Ed Sheeran says. You know, there's only so many chords. Everybody ends up writing pretty much the same version of each other's songs. Especially in pop music. So like sometimes you get like copied. Tom Petty suing Sam Smith. You know, sometimes you get. And like you didn't do it. But like that's just like the nature of the biz. So I just think it's weird. I just. Because it's like also a bad title.
B
Yeah. It's odd. It's obviously also like overshadowing this exciting moment.
A
Yeah. Sorry to like make it about that, but otherwise we wouldn't have anything to say because like we don't have the song yet.
B
And I'm excited it out on Friday.
A
Bob Iger shared a picture of him and Taylor like on one of his last days as CEO of Disney. This must have been like one he wanted credit. Like I got this done because he shared a picture of them in the boardroom. I don't know why you have to like a meeting in the boardroom. Just like do a song. But love that.
B
Right. Like why can't you like you want to do a song. Yeah.
A
And like Taylor was just obviously like excited to go cuz she like we such a businesswoman. A meeting.
B
That could have been an email, a text message.
A
You want to do a song?
B
Sure. Do you think it's because her and Travis have a baby at home that now she's like, like wanting to get involved?
A
Like obviously I would love for that to be true, but I also don't want it to be true cuz that means like she didn't share any of it with us.
B
So no, that the surrogate, like, delivered seamlessly and now they have a baby that loves Toy story who's 5 years old.
A
I hope that's not true.
B
Yeah, it's little curious that she's getting into the kids game.
A
She's always been like, like, really family friendly.
B
I know, but like, ne. She's not been in an animated film.
A
She did Cats. Yikes.
B
Yikes. Let's not remind everyone. Okay. So excited to hear the song. I wonder.
A
Me too. Like, does it come out with the movie before the movie? I can't remember the last time. I was like, anticipating.
B
So the movie, the show. The song comes out on Friday. The movie comes out June 19th.
A
And then does Taylor put this song, like, on her album at all or just like it's. It's Disney's.
B
It's. It's like there.
A
Oh, she did do a song for the Marsh girl. What's that book?
B
It was an original.
A
Yeah, Carolina, right? Yeah, like that. It was good.
B
Did she do a song for Hunger Games?
A
You and I'll be safe. And. And she also did Zayn. That was a movie. I don't want to live forever. That was for.
B
Oh, Fifty Shades.
A
I don't wanna live. Not my favorite saving sound from the Hunger Games. Like, is one of the best songs ever made. People don't even know it. Like, like.
B
No. One of the best soundtrack songs ever made. Actually, I think it's like the best one.
A
It's broken and it's beautiful by Kelly Clarkson.
B
That's good. But no, like, it's actually a genre. Like pop.
A
No, like, of a movie.
B
We just discussed it in the Italian Job. No, we have discussed it in the show today.
A
Today.
B
Like, not even a minute ago.
A
Oh, God, you know, my memory is so bad. What did we discuss a minute ago? Crawdads. Close. Oh, close.
B
Like, close. It was right next door to Crawdads.
A
We were talking about it just then.
B
Hunger Games, the other one that we were talking about.
A
Fifty Shades.
B
Yes.
A
Who wrote a song for Fifty Shades? Tell me.
B
Ellie Goulding. Love me like you do.
A
Oh, I don't think I knew that. That was like, for. Was that a song. Song created for the soundtrack or a
B
song that was put on this, the score? I don't know.
A
I have a hard time believing it's an original.
B
It's such an amazing song. It was made for the ruby. They were so unworthy a hundred percent
A
that that franchise is turned. Like, it's not good.
B
It's so turned. But isn't that song so good? I should listen to it in the car on the way home.
A
I love, love original. Oh, I saw the funniest tweet about this. Somebody quote, tweeted like this news and was like, dan Warren is crying. Because like, this is obviously like an attempt at an Oscar. You become eligible for an Oscar as like a singer, songwriter.
B
Oh, it better be good when you write. And she better hope nothing pops off this year Golden. She wouldn't stand in chance.
A
You really can't predict the song. You always think like, oh, Miley. Or like if a big person a lot of times like they don't win it and it's always random. But this is an attempt at that. Oh, she also wrote, wrote for Cats, a really good song. So I'll dance with your beautiful ghost.
B
Oh, and she wrote for Ms. Americana Young.
A
Oh, only the young. That's a good song. Yeah, she actually said like a lot. Quite a lot. Yeah. This one better be good. Yeah, she has a pretty good crack.
B
Has she been nominated for an Oscar? Like first, I believe she was nominated
A
for Beautiful Ghosts and she went to the Golden Globes and everything. Remember she went with Joe and it was like a big deal. She wore that green jazz.
B
No, I wasn't paying attention.
A
That's okay. You're probably busy.
B
Yeah, for sure. Are you ready for our next story? It's a story that you had wanted to discuss and let's, let's discuss.
A
Yeah, I need to, I need to talk about this.
B
So Phoebe Gates is new, not new, but you know, relatively new. AI shopping app. FIA has just closed a major round of funding and it is completely star studded. Sophia is an AI shopping app launched in April 2025.
A
If you watch Love Thy Neighbor, you know about it.
B
Or if you're just on Instagram. It's launched by Phoebe Gates, Bill Gates's daughter, and her college roommate Sophia Kiani. They have like this AI shopping extension where basically you like put in your browser and it run. If you're buying something, it like runs looking for it on every other website. It'll give you the lowest price. It also scans like ebay for a used version. So if you're shopping, it's like a good extension for getting a lower price for what you want. They also have a podcast.
A
Okay, so I saw that lists and it was like everywhere. Because a lot of the people that I follow invested. It's a lot of like female celebrities, influencers, famous investors.
B
If I may share the investor list in this round because there were previously some well known investors like Haley Bieber Kris Jenner, Cheryl Sandberg and Sarah Blakely were in the first round, but now they just closed their second round. The lineup includes Khloe Kardashian, Alex Earl, Mindy Kaling, Carly Kloss, Eileen Goo, Sydney Sweeney, Paris Hilton, Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Alba, Shaboozi, Shaboozy the First Man, Ashley Graham Halsey, Wendy Murdoch Brooks and her all of her sisters, Chrishell Lim, Sophia Amoroso, Rachel Zoe, Winnie Harlow, Lori Harvey, Ice Spice, Kate Bailey, Olivia Culpo, Amy Griffin, Lilly Singh, the Chain Smokers, Layla Hormozi, Gunna and Jay Shetty.
A
And I just want to say I hate everything about this. First of all, I have heard of fia. They were on the Hulu Show. Sophia Gates is Bill Gates's daughter, B.B.
B
gates. Sophia is the room meet.
A
Oh, okay. They are like Nepo to the next level. They have a podcast on the Unwell Network. They've had Chris Jenner on their podcast. These are like two people who literally have every advantage in the world. And, like, nobody cares about their company. Nobody cared before. Even before they said Haley B. Is an investor. No one's using this company. And that's not even. It's not even a bad idea. It's a good idea. But, like, okay, what, so you have more investors, more money now to continue to do what? Like this. If that was me and like, Bill Gates was my dad and I had this show and I could have Kris Jenner on, like, and Kris Jenner invested, like, I'm sorry. Like, it's a flop. It's a flop.
B
Yeah. They claim to have, like, over a million users. They're also, like, building out the tech.
A
Are the users in the room with us?
B
They're building out the tech so that, like, then the bot, like, knows what you like and will serve you other things. They make money by taking affiliate commissions when someone checks out through the app. They plan to make like, a master shopping cart so that you can check out, check out from multiple websites in one place. Apparently, like, Google is also doing this. I think there are a lot of tech platforms that can this. There's a lot of AI technology. You know, you could also put it into chat GPT and say, find me the lowest 1,000%.
A
No. And it's not that the idea is bad at all, but it's like, there's something about this that isn't working. And they were. They're overcommitted now they've over $33 million in funding. They had huge investors before. Her dad is Bill Gates for Crying out loud. And I see their clips on my TikTok from their podcast, Jackie. Not one view, like so.
B
And it's the biggest stars in the world.
A
Wait, so what's not. What is not working here? Yeah, I don't think more money is a problem. I don't think more celebrities.
B
No, I think that from what I've read in, in this puff piece, like they have, you know, the structure and they have the product and the tech and everything's good. And so now they want to connect with the culture. They're bringing in the culture vis a vis, like all of these celebrities. But I just don't think anything with this many celebrities is going to be successful. Like, it shouldn't need that many people. We don't need all of these people to tell us to use this app. And also the person who's using this app wants the lowest price price quad untied. And I don't look to my celebrity to understand my cardboard. Like, my cardboard needs a thousand. I don't think that this like, connects the way that it needs to. Like they actually should have had like more influencers who talk about these sorts of budgetary needs. I'm looking at one right here.
A
No, but the thing is all these people invested, like, I just want to say I think this is a bad investment. But like a lot of these people invest in so many things. Like I think they say like literally 1% of your investments cover like, like all your failed investments. So I don't think anything any people think they're going to like be getting their money out of this. But I just want to say, like, I think it's a flop and like I've been seeing them now like chugging along for like years. This isn't a new app. I think maybe for some people this is the first time they're hearing about it. But like I've been cuz they went on Love thy Nator. They went to her office and she was like this girl boss business that Mary Beth Holland was like supposed to like, yeah, want to be. And it was just like, it was corny as hell. And it's very like the future is female Sophia Amoroso.
B
The talking points.
A
Yeah, it's corny as hell and like it's not working. So.
B
And it's like anything can like be successful if you're just going to like
A
have endless money, access, power, celebrities. Yeah.
B
You know, so I just don't think anything that's meant to be successful needs this level of celebrity involvement, you know. And also at A certain point, like, people don't listen to celebrities you find on certain subjects.
A
For real?
B
Yeah. Like having a celebrity spokesperson, Like, I think sometimes it's. It's good for like, you know, awareness, but people don't really listen to celebrities.
A
I do think the angle of like making a moment out of your investors is like an interesting. But now anytime I see Hailey Bieber, Chloe talking about this app, I'm like, first of all, you don't use it. And second of all, I know you're only telling me about it because you're an investor. So like, it eliminates a little bit of like the, I think, authenticity.
B
Yeah.
A
And like the, the conversion.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, why would I listen to you? You don't use this app and you're being paid or, you know, I think
B
the bigger thing is, like, it's not really. The app is like, should be marketed by relatable people who would use it, not necessarily people who wouldn't.
A
Yeah. So everyone on my feed was posting about this yesterday and I was just like. I seriously was rolling my eyes.
B
Yeah.
A
But maybe I'll be wrong. And it is a huge hit. I just like, like, I would have thought this app would be over by now. Not. Cuz now it's. Now it's like two years of me
B
seeing it, more life in it on the peripher.
A
Now it's like even bigger and better. And I'm like, but it's not working.
B
Yeah, but I guess they can like other products that might have not like, converted to being in the green at this point, like, would have to shut down because everybody has to like, go home and like, pay their bills.
A
Pay their bills. Well, I saw that. And the girls themselves must be dazzling, you know, because I saw Chloe talking about how Chris went on the podcast. She was like, so impressed with the girls that she invested and then like, told her daughters about it and that's how Chloe got involved. So they must be like, smart, charismatic. Like, it's impressive to pull like these kind of numbers, but you're also Bill Gates's daughter, so.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
Even though, you know, he famously like, gives his kids $3 a month, like, whatever.
B
I think it's like, I don't know if it's $3 a month. I think it's like 1% of his wealth.
A
You know, I'll take it.
B
Which is like a hundred million dollars. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Ready for our next story. Anna Kendrick is set to direct Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo after the second filmmaker departs. NETFLIX movie adaptation so one of our Favorite books of all time. If you are getting into reading or you're a reader and you haven't read Seven Husbands, you need to read Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. And for years it has been said that it's being made into a movie and we haven't heard much, but apparently two filmmakers have left and now Anna Kendrick is set to film make sneak thoughts. Claudia hate.
A
I hate this. First of all, she's not a director. Okay, so like a first time female director. I'm good. She's not filming. I don't know why I said female. Like it just a first time director period.
B
Sorry, first time male director.
A
First time director. Like, no, first of all, it's giving
B
Jesse Maldoni a thousand a love book. First time.
A
Is she casting herself too? Oh, Lord, that's what Justin Bell actually,
B
she could be Celia, please know.
A
Like, that's. So when we all talk for literally years about this book and who we would cast Isaac and Sal is like, Jessica, Chastity, please. We never once brought up Anna Kendrick for a reason. Like, no, I hate this. Like, I just want to say. And where is it? Netflix.
B
You say Netflix.
A
What did I say last week? When it comes to adapting books, leave it to Hulu. Netflix has an atrocious track record of adapting popular books into movies and TV shows. Shows. I didn't realize consciously until this moment that they were in charge of seven husbands. It's gonna be bad. Let's just all prepare ourselves. And now Anna Kendrick. So we have Netflix bad. Anna Kendrick bad. I hate this. Any other casting news? Or nothing or just no.
B
So they mentioned in this article how fans want Jessica Chastain to play Evelyn Hugo, but the actress shared years ago that there's zero possibility of it happening. I wonder why they wanted to play Celia. It said Evelyn Hugo here.
A
Well, that article's wrong because Celia's redhead.
B
Yeah. And yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Ana De Arma should play her 100%. I feel like she was cast well.
A
The book has now been talked about. A lot of the characters have aged out. Like, we've been casting this so many
B
years and then watch.
A
It's going to be fucking Anne Hathaway.
B
A screenwriter whose credits include Tiny Beautiful Things and Little Fires Everywhere wrote the first draft of the script.
A
It also sounds like the production itself is like, in a bad place. Now it's a second director and then
B
they had another one who's editing the script. Why do we know this?
A
This we all collect.
B
Are we about to see the script? Give our thoughts.
A
This is bad.
B
I Hope that this gets stuck forever.
A
Yeah. I'd rather not have an adaptation than a really bad one. I hate to be so negative. I'm sorry, but I just. I don't want to. So, like, it's an important book to a lot of people. For a lot of us, it was a gateway to reading. Like. And I'm scared.
B
Yeah, I'm really scared. Yeah. Let's keep hoping that they can't get it off the ground.
A
Like, seriously, if you were to tell me that they're, like, tapping a random act track. Actress to direct. I would have thought, like, Eve Longoria directs.
B
Margot Robbie.
A
Yeah.
B
Sydney Sweeney directs.
A
She has a new production company. Never in my life would I have said Anna Kendrick. Like, this is such a bad call.
B
Sydney Sweeney could be Celia if she dyes her hair. That would be good.
A
Yeah, anyone can be Celia. Because, like, yes, it'd be nice to have, you know, you Madelaine Petsch or redhead. But yeah, anyone can be redhead. I think the casting that's a little bit more particular is Celia. I mean, excuse me, is Evelyn. Because it's all about this, like, Latin actress who's like, white passing. So it's a. She doesn't have an accent or anything, but she speaks fluent Spanish. So there to be a little bit more. Yeah, but anyone can be Evelyn.
B
Yeah. Celia.
A
Sorry.
B
Yeah, so we'll wait and see.
A
Hate.
B
Are you ready for our next story? Yes, I. I hope. I just want to, like, you know, hold your hand while I tell you this.
A
What did Sam Hunt do?
B
Pepe Garcia was.
A
Oh, please. I'm so over him.
B
Spotted on a date with Miranda from Slammo. So Pepe Garcia from last season of Love and I of Love island. You know, Pepe of Iris and Pepe.
A
Oh, I just want to say Pepe, I know people are going to. And you're not going. This going to mean nothing to you. Pepe on a very low key way. People are gonna think I'm crazy, but he does give a little bit. Garrett Graham. Just saying. Go.
B
Everyone's Garrett Graham today.
A
If only everyone was.
B
Gagram today was spotted on a date with Miranda from Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. They were on a date in Miami and there are some photos from their dinner.
A
Nerd. So, like, while I do love this. Love to see Pepe back in the fold, just literally, just as I unfollowed him maybe two days ago because, like,
B
we had to get you back.
A
You know, these Love island people, like, they really have such. And I really felt like I was following him for.
B
Because the thing about you, it's like you're a sweeper in all manners of life, like, including your Instagram following. Like, for me, like, once I follow someone, like, I am committed for life pretty much, like, through the highs and the lows. Like, it might be like eight years before I unfollow someone that I followed on a random season. Yeah, I actually, like, just did that with one person. I felt. Felt. I felt really bad. No, I'm not saying I'll tell you after. You won't even know who I'm talking about.
A
Oh, I know. Yeah.
B
So I reach out.
A
Yeah. No, I'm kidding. That's really crazy of you.
B
I'm like, yeah, that's just how I approach the follow. Like, it's not a sweeper. Yes, you. I feel like, do a monthly sweep of your following. Not monthly, but, like, quarterly.
A
If someone's on my for you page and I'm like, oh, you shouldn't be there, I just immediately take action.
B
Yeah, it's the sweeper. Like, nature in here. You.
A
Yeah, I just unfollowed him last week,
B
so he knew he had to get
A
your desperate boy for attention.
B
He spot on date with Miranda. Now, I like Pepe, I think, because I think he cheated on Iris, and I don't like that.
A
So. I like Pepe, but in the context of, like, Pepe as a boyfriend, he's certainly not who I would choose for
B
any person, let alone like a mother.
A
I don't think he cheated on Iris. I think they had, like, a bad relationship, and he was, like, really mean after they broke up.
B
But why did they bring break up?
A
I. I don't know.
B
Okay. I just feel like, you know, she's a serious girl. She has kids. I don't know if he's like, Iris.
A
Oh, sorry, Miranda. Oh, this is.
B
I don't know if he's like the stepfather they need.
A
No, he's not gonna be the guy who stepped up. Like, I think that it's clear based on her acts like she has terrible taste in men. Like, she obviously goes for the role.
B
It could be worse than Pepe, though. Like.
A
Yeah, but I don't think he's that serious again. Yeah, when you're. When you. If you're a person dating and you also have kids, like, you can't be dumb like everyone else. Like, you can't just, like, fling yourself around. Like, you have to be a little bit more intentional, even when you're, like, single and carefree.
B
And she is intentional. So I'm gonna trust her on this. And maybe it's like he wants to be on the show a little bit.
A
Pepe and dad talk.
B
Maybe he wants to be on Slamo a little bit. And, like, that works for me too. I like this storyline, even if it goes nowhere. Like, I'm interested.
A
And you know that, like, the former cast classmates from Love island, like, last year, their clock has run out. Like, the new season starts today. So if you're not Nickelandria.
B
Did you see that video of Nickelandria at 11 in Miami like I did
A
during the dollar bills?
B
Nickelandrea is just like, I think it's the loneliest place on earth.
A
Not only that, I feel like Nick of Nickelandrea is, like, really struggling. Like, I think she is getting all the. The love and attention to the relationship really suits her.
B
I don't think so.
A
It props her up. Like, she's really benefiting from it way more than he is.
B
Oh, I completely disagree.
A
He does, like, appearances and stuff. I think that, like, maybe at one point that was enough. But, like, she's at such a high level and he's literally just there.
B
I feel like she doesn't know fame outside of Nicholandria, and it's just comfortable for her. And I think they are good friends and, like, it's just what you know, and that's comfortable. But I think if she breaks up with him, like, she. Her star would soar.
A
Yes, of course.
B
But she doesn't realize that.
A
No, maybe she doesn't. But she's still having major success within Nilandria. Nicholandria is now stifling.
B
But if Nickelandria ends, Nick ends. He doesn't get that it only goes down from here.
A
Of course he thinks he's going to be like, the next Olandria, and he's not. Yeah, but no, all the other castmates, besides for really them, I don't think anybody else is, like, really doing anything. Their time has run out. So, yeah, running to a popular franchise, like Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is pretty good strategy on Pepe's part.
B
Yeah. But there's always potters and Winter Games Traders. Not Traders.
A
Well, not for any of them. But Maura and Rob, like, you can
B
go for Love Island. Rob did that. Rob did, but that was like, a bigger season. I don't think any of them are big enough for Traders. But there's a lot of, like. Like, you know, on Traders. Yes, she could.
A
She should.
B
Yeah.
A
Maybe all that time away from her annoying boyfriend, maybe she'll fall in love on Traders.
B
Has anyone ever fallen in love On Traders.
A
I don't think so.
B
I'm ready for it.
A
You know, Jojo C was still with the guy that she fell in love with on Celebrity Big Brother. I just saw her post like a carousel of their one year anniversary.
B
That was crazy. That was with like her girlfriend watching
A
gay and left with a boyfriend.
B
I know, but in her girlfriend in a relationship too. Her girlfriend was watching her fall right with a man right on tv and
A
everybody was like, it's an act. They're being funny. They're friends. No, no. They're in love. Yeah, I love that for her.
B
Are you ready for our fifth and final story?
A
If it's our fifth and final story. We have so many options brought to you by Outshot. So Outshine is a refreshing frozen snack made with real simple ingredients like real fruit and fruit juice to help you snack brighter. Because Outshine believes when you snack good, you feel good. Outshine offers a wide variety of fruit bars, mini fruit pops that come in tons of crave worthy flavors. And it's a refreshing snack that's just under 100 calories. Most of their bars are around 60 calories. Plus the mini fruit packs come with a variety of three fruit flavors and are less than 40 calories each. We always have those ones like the variety packs stocked up in the freezer. Such a good summertime refreshing treat. Now when it comes to flavors, they have strawberry, mango, coconut, pineapple, watermelon and then new black cherry. Plus they have fruit blends which is two or more fruit flavors swirled together into one.
B
We love a swirl.
A
So they've got. And here are the flavors and let's do a little game of to swirl or not to swirl.
B
Okay.
A
Cherry limeade. Choose your. Choose your fave. Choose your player. As the kids say, Cherry lime made Pina colada, Tropical breeze, Blueberry lemonade.
B
I think I've got to swirl with blueberry lemonade.
A
I know I also, I do like a cherry limeade. Like cherry lime is a good. I like when people just get kind
B
like a Jackson Claude.
A
Exactly.
B
Two things that are so different but work so well together.
A
So true. And everybody looks at them and says those two things could never. And then there they are 10 years
B
later and it's like how do we ever have them separate a success?
A
What's inside every outren fruit bar, real food, fruit or fruit juice and a good source of vitamin C. What's not inside is GMO ingredients. There's no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors colors. Plus they're flat, fat free and gluten.
B
Free.
A
So it makes it really easy to experience the joy of fruit. Many fruits are delicious, but take work like a coconut, you know, who has the time? Well, you could just have an outshine bar and get the same experience in a much less tense situation. I love a frozen snack. I love an outshine. They're such a good thing to have, like on. On inventory.
B
Yeah.
A
In the back.
B
Especially, like with summer coming up. It is so warm here. It's like a great way to cool down. The kids love it refreshed. It's fun for the whole family. Fun for the whole family.
A
So when it comes to, like, favorite flavors, there's a couple that we'd like to discuss. But the watermelon frozen fruit bars.
B
Discuss them.
A
Let's discuss them. The ones that are. The frozen fruit bars that are made with real fruit. That's like an og. We had those all the time.
B
We did.
A
And honestly, it's such a now, like, as a parent, like, it's such a good snack. But we, like, we were just loving it. We had no idea, like, it was just a delicious, delicious frozen snack. They also have pineapple frozen fruit bars which is also made with real juice and fruit. The mango frozen fruit bars which has real fruit. And then the outshine cherry mini frozen fruit pops that are made with real juice. You can find out shine fruit bars and the mini fruit pops in the freezer aisle at retailers nationwide. I have to say their distribution is on. Is on fleek. You can. Every time I'm doing like an online order or I'm at the actual grocery store, it's so easy to find and there's so many different flavors. So I really do like, you can have like the wider ones or then the mini ones that have like the variety pack. And that's just good to have because then everybody's like, oh, I have blue, I have red. Have you ever seen Jake Shane, like, when he does the reveal? No. It's. So that's literally how it feels like when you open the pop. Like which flavor you're going to get.
B
It's true. Also, like, whenever we go on vacation, they're like a staple on our grocery list. And like everywhere we go, we get them and they have them.
A
Today's episode is also brought to you by parallel. So a lot of women start pregnancy low on nutrients without even realizing it. So it's really better to build it up before you need it. Starting early with your prenatals take and supplements makes it easy to be calm and proactive, not urgent and Stressful. So if you think it's too early to start a prenatal, it's Most likely not. OBEs actually recommend starting 6 to 12 months before you're starting to try. Try my. I had an OB1 who told me like every woman of a certain age like should just be on prenatals instead of trying to catch up once you actually get pregnant. And then also sometimes like your hair grows, it's just like a nice little benefit. Your nails get nice and strong. And parallel is such a great option for that before era, for the trying to conceive era, for the actual natal era. They created a conception support pack for the in between season. It's not just a generic prenatal. It includes nutrients obese, prioritized before conception like CoQ10 DHA, folklore, folate, choline. It's founded by a practicing OB GYN and there's literally no downside to starting early. It functions basically as a really high quality daily multivitamin which you know, most women should be taking. Most women don't. If your timeline shifts, totally fine. You're just still supporting your body with pargy nutrients. They even have vitamins for the man in your life if you want to get optimized for him as well during your trying to conceive era. So if you're pregnant, if you're trying, if you're postpartum, definitely check out parallel. We really can't recommend it enough. Enough for actual pregnancy. I really like that their prenatals are, you know, they change. They have one for the first trimester, one for the second and it's like, well, yeah, like I can't believe that that's not a thing for everyone. So parallel is really ahead of the curve. We have an exclusive code just for you guys where new customers can get 20 off. When you go to parallelhealth.com toast and use code toast, that's P E R E L E L health.com toast code T O A S T. B
Thank you, Sash Turt.
A
You're welcome.
B
I just saw an article on tmz. Like I guess one of the new love islanders.
A
What they do now?
B
No, he's a former cop.
A
Oh.
B
And his boss is upset and the mayor of his city is like the.
A
Because mayor's an arc. The guy did nothing wrong. Like you're allowed to quit your job to pursue a reality TV show. We can talk about you behind your back. But like for the mayor to release a statement, like the guy quite literally did nothing wrong.
B
No, but he said like police departments across the country are already struggling to recruit and retain officers and like that he left in under a year. You know, all those resources poured into his recruitment training.
A
Sure. But like to put the, you know, the national crisis on this one Love island contestant.
B
Oh yeah.
A
Like it's a lot. It's a lot.
B
No, it's a lot that that happened. Of course. Like going on a vacation where you could like potentially come away with a million followers and millions of dollars. Like is maybe you could give that
A
money back to the police force.
B
Like maybe he could. But you know what? At the end. And so of Course, it's like, by force. I'm going to be famous by force. But, like, let's talk to him in two years from now, and I think he'll be. I think he'll be missing his force friends.
A
Yeah.
B
And the stability, of course, go back to the force. Not after you go through training. Not after this.
A
Yeah, you definitely put a target on your back.
B
And I do think, like, sometimes you could, like, leave your position or take a leave to go on Love island, like, if you've been in the course of a while. But he's, like, there under a year. You know, that was like, Kevin from the Bachelor was a firefighter.
A
Yeah. And before.
B
And then he went on the Bachelor, and he's still a firefighter today. Like, it can be handled. Well, yeah, but this guy.
A
But this guy also has no idea that, like, the former mayor, who he probably, like, never met or spoke to, was, like, rattling off about him publicly because he's in the island with no phone.
B
You know what's also crazy is, like, you look at, like, the new cast of islanders that dropped, and it's like, okay, whatever.
A
It means nothing.
B
But, like, if you think about past seasons, like, those are the people who are going to be there the entire time. I know the original islanders.
A
Being an original islander is such an unfair advantage, like, to the point where, like, they have such toxic alliances that they keep voting.
B
Yeah. And it's like. I mean, it's hard to get to know people. Sound like a video. But I'm not, like, like, taken away by these. Like, it's just crazy that these people are gonna. The showdown.
A
That's, like, a flaw with the show that, like, people come earnestly. I mean, Jaylen, people come with, like, good intentions, and they get kicked off just because they have these, like, moronic alliances to, like, keep their friends there.
B
Yeah.
A
Their friends who have no prospects, who are literally hated by everyone. Like, nobody wants to couple up with them. People, literally, they're repellent, but they get to stay on. It's a flaw in the show. And I know now that I'm remembering, I get, like, pissed off.
B
And then when we get the chance to vote someone out, America, we're behind. We have. We're using old information. And then we see an episode like Hannah and Pepe and Charlie, and we vote out Charlie because we think Hannah likes Pepe, but Hannah likes Charlie.
A
Also. I saw, like, a. The intro video of this girl. She's blonde. She's like a cutie from Kenzia. Is that her name? And I just Want to say, like, I seriously blame everybody who voted for Amaya. Like, like, that's what the producers, they're giving us.
B
More Amaya.
A
More like. Yeah, like, sort of like, I hate that.
B
Yeah.
A
And it just looks. I never fell for Amaya.
B
No. Not for one second. You can roll the tape.
A
You roll the tapes. Like, I never voted for her. And now people are like, it's. First of all, it's insane that she won.
B
It's insane that Brian won.
A
Yeah, right. I never fell for it. And, like, I just think that I will be rewarded in the afterlife for, like, never having fallen for the Amaya high of it all.
B
Yeah, I agree. Who would you have had win the season?
A
No, like, the thing is, no one.
B
Iris and Pepe.
A
Well, of course, but, like, they broke up. Ace and Shelley broke up. But at least they were real.
B
I would have had Ace and Shelly win the season. They deserve to win the season. They were there since day one and they were actually in a relationship.
A
No, they were in a relationship and they, like, effectively bullied everyone out. Like, sorry, that's winner. Like, you won.
B
Yeah. No. And everyone, like, like, you know, yelled at him for being, like, a master manipulator.
A
Like, I don't know, maybe I would have had Huda and Chris swim.
B
But like, yeah, no, he manipulated, like, great. It's not what you wanted. It's not what you guys do here, right? Our fifth and final story. Giants signed Braxton Barrios.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
The Giants signed Braxton Barrios to their team. They held a high profile wide receiver workout on Monday morning.
A
A wide receiver. They kept saying, wr. I'm like, I. I could not running. I was like, running. I could not think wide receiver. I was like, West Runner. I couldn't.
B
Okay, West Wilson, Madam Marvel.
A
West Wilson, Wicked witch.
B
They held a high profile wide receiver workout on Monday morning featuring Odell Beckham Jr. Juju Smith Schuster, Braxton Barrios and Anthony Miller.
A
Are they saying that, like, Braxton beat out all those people and he.
B
The first winner of the competition was Braxton. But those people are on the team. Team.
A
No, I think maybe they were like, it was like a tryout.
B
Oh, interesting.
A
I think this is, like, kind of huge.
B
I think this is for their relationship. Agreed. But it's like, I'm starting to get the feeling now that, like, Braxton doesn't want to be with Alex. No, but, like, Braxton is the one who moved on. Like, Alex is the one who's like,
A
when you get, like, left in the dust. Because I do believe that she Broke up with him, like you kind of have no choice. But we were saying last week it's almost better to have been broken up with because there was nothing you could have done. Like you have no choice but to move on.
B
I'm telling you, I think Braxton ended up ended it and maybe it's because he wants like stability. Like he doesn't want a girlfriend who's traveling all the time. Maybe he wants to like get married and have kids soon. I'm starting to get the feeling that Braxton ended it because if it was, if Alex had ended it and it was because like he's a big loser,
A
this would be good place for the Texans.
B
This is good for that narrative. Because now he's in New York, like, right?
A
Yeah, for sure. I think her like having to fly once a week to Texas, like was really getting in the way of her business. Houston, I think if she had to be in New York once a week, she would probably. I mean, her sister lives in New York, her family's from New Jersey. Everything. New York Fashion Week.
B
Like giants, like, don't they play in New Jersey? She could stay at her parents house.
A
Yeah, no, but like if she had to live in New York for the season, that would not affect her business at all. Would probably be good for business and
B
she wouldn't just always like be running to leave. Whereas like when she's in Houston, she's there for Braxton and Braxton only.
A
Yeah. I do think that she's like slowly becoming a permanent resident of Los Angeles, which I'm watching and I like hate for her because I can only imagine what it's like to pretty much overnight become, not overnight but like very quickly become so famous. And she probably gets that's like, let's just say brand deals, like maybe 15 to 20 million dollars in brand deals a year. And like she's already a Florida resident. Like she doesn't pay income tax. And I see her moving, I know she bought a place in LA and now she's spending a lot of time there.
B
I.
A
It almost feels like she's spending more than half the year. I don't even think she has a place. She sees a Braxton's member and then I don't know where she stays in Florida. She's like never in Florida. I feel like she's giving up her tax residency in Florida. I just want to say I think that's a huge mistake.
B
I feel like she won't give up her residency here and like she'll spend, spend as many days as she can in LA. But $I feel like her dad would never let her. No, that's. That's insane.
A
It's insane.
B
Yeah.
A
Don't do it. Don't do it.
B
So I actually.
A
The thing about Alex has always been so great is, like, she's not one of those LA influencers and she's randomly from Miami. Like, there's not a lot. She's the biggest influencer, of course, like in the world, but also in Miami and just been like this fun, weird thing about her that she's not from, like, New York or la. So I kind of hate that for her. No.
B
And like, when you become an influencer in la, there's definitely, like, a lot of opportunities, A lot, lot of, like, opportunities for collaboration. And I think when you're at a certain point in your influencing career, it's great to move to la because rising tides raise all sides. But at other point, like, you do start to get, like, lost in the sauce and you're one of.
A
One of everyone. Exactly.
B
One of many.
A
Exactly.
B
So, but I actually saw, I don't know where I saw this, that like, right now New York City is the number one city for influencers.
A
Like, what a tick tock for influencers.
B
Just like the amount of influencers who live in New York is like, more than I anywhere else right now.
A
That's cool. I like that.
B
Yeah.
A
They're obviously talking about me.
B
Of course. Of course they are.
A
Well, congrats to Braxton. Like, he's employed. That's always a good way to get a girlfriend. Like getting a job. This is for men everywhere.
B
And that's a great wife. I think.
A
I know.
B
I'm just saying, wants a wife.
A
That's a good segue into Dear Toasters. Like, if you want a wife, if you want a girlfriend, the first thing you should do is get a job. Because not enough men have jobs. Let's dive into Dear Toasters, our weekly advice segment where people write in people in need, people in distress, listeners of this show wanting to get advice from their two favorite girls. If you ever want to write in, email us your toasters gmail.com or head over to our website, the toast podcast.com okay. Hey, swirlies. So last summer, my friends and I were bar hopping as young toasters do, and it may or may not have had one too many. Ended up making out with an older gentleman. In my defense, he didn't look that old, but it was captured on video and it's just like a funny inside joke for the past year. Fast forward Last week, my mom goes and talks about this new man she's seeing and how she's so happy that they met through one of her co
B
workers at her new. Seriously. End the show.
A
My parents have been divorced for the past six years. This is the first time where I've actually seen my mom dating. She's so excited and happy. Happy. And I'm so excited for her to be so happy. Where this all goes wrong is I walked down the stairs last night and guess who the hell is opening a bottle of wine next to my mother. But the same man that I kissed at a bar last summer. I ran the out of the house. I have not said a single thing to anyone. I don't know what to do. And I'm so scared to see this man again in my house with my mother. I had to run and tell my toasty queens dead ass. Help. I don't know what to do.
B
I don't believe it.
A
You don't believe it? No.
B
Like, I believe it, but I'm in shock.
A
The thing is, I only wish you stayed with him a little bit longer to see if he recognized you. Like, is this a secret YouTube you have or only you remember? Like, if only you remember, it dies with you.
B
He definitely remembers.
A
I don't know. Everyone's drinking.
B
Like, he doesn't drink. Like a party. Like, it's shocking that she only really remembers because she has a video.
A
I don't. Like an older gentleman.
B
Well, maybe he doesn't have the video, so he's not always looking at you.
A
Right. And it's a year ago. An older gentleman having some drinks. Not blackout. Like, I think there's actually a high chance that he could not remember.
B
I think it's time to move away from home. You know, there comes a time in every woman's life where it's leave the nest. Leave the nest. And this might be the. The thing.
A
Yeah. You don't tell. Well, no. You don't tell your mom. No, no, no. Sorry. You don't tell your mom.
B
You should call Noah Cyrus and get her advice.
A
See what she did. But I don't think she ever made out with Dominic Purcell. It was that she, like, loved him and her mom took him from her. Stop.
B
This is also what was the idea of you.
A
Thank you. Except the girl was 11, so, like, she was never making out with Harry Styles. Like it was just a crush. Yeah. Sharing a partner with a parent is obviously a bad situation. One I've never been in. So I can't help you. And roadway moving is an amazing moving company.
B
It is.
A
And I think it's time to set
B
up with Horizons and hope that they break up and then you can come home.
A
In terms of actual tangible advice, I would probably believe that this guy doesn't remember. Although you do have to like see him again to see. See if there's any sort of like twinkle in his eye and if he gives off the vibe that he has no idea. Like, unfortunately this is just your secret and you have to live with it. Just hope that they break up and start bad. Nothing him to your mom.
B
Yeah.
A
Start like laying the foundation, being like, oh, you know someone I know knows him. He, you know he's a bad guy. Yeah. He's get really aggressive. Like, I don't just like make some up. Make some up.
B
That's actually maybe the worst one.
A
That's very nausea dating.
B
It's really like we're stuck.
A
Like mother, like daughter. Next up. Hey, swirlies. I'm gonna cut to the chase. I was sent a screen recording of a Tinder profile of my husband of four years, the father of my five month old twins. The person who sent it to me is an old co worker who recognized my husband immediately. The profile had a different name, but the photos, bio information and interest all match my husband and even said father of twins. Not looking for a mother. He claims it's a fake profile. His phone was hacked. In his defense, slightly. We checked and he did have fraudulent charges on his CO card. 90 of our relationship. We've been solid. But post having the twins, we're on shaky ground with the drastic change. I just don't know what to think. Do I trust my husband? Should I be worried that he's at least emotionally cheating? Any advice would help. Sincerely, a tired postpartum toaster who doesn't want single parent twins.
B
Yeah, like, is there not a way to confirm this? Like there is.
A
Like, even if he deleted Tinder off of his phone, like you redownload the app, you can see. First of all, if he is you, when you go to an app store,
B
go to his email, search Tinder. Does he get like, hey, welcome to Tinder email emails?
A
Maybe he has like a burner email. Go to his app store. If you have an app that you've already downloaded, even if you delete it, it would just say redown.
B
Yes, but if you've never done Tinder years ago, like and true.
A
It could come up, open the app, it'll say like re log in. Like it'll memorize your stuff.
B
Like, I'm sorry, he Needs.
A
You need a full audit.
B
Yeah, you do. If he ever used Tinder before, it doesn't have to be today, like, but
A
it might be his old profile that would come up with his real name.
B
Yeah.
A
If there's a fake ass profile with like Danny or whoever. However.
B
Yeah, I, I feel like there are ways to confirm we don't have to like live in wonder.
A
Exactly. But sometimes I think people like, prefer to live in wonder, especially at this
B
stage of like being. I. I kind of want to say just like set it down for the moment, you know?
A
Yeah. I also respect, like, I think some people would rather be in like an iffy situation than like have to face like, like she said, being a single
B
parent starting over with twins, five month olds. Like, I'm sorry that. Not today. Yeah, not today.
A
If anything, he's like your live in caretaker nanny until you guys can work this out. But like, you're five months postpartum. Like, you're seriously so in it. Like, you really should make. I think you said this one's like, no major life changes should be made within two years of having a baby.
B
Yeah. And so not today, you know, not today. And so I don't know if he did or he didn't. And you could spend the time trying to figure it out, but even if you found out that he did right now, like, seriously, that would be incredibly inconvenient truth.
A
Yes. But you don't need to live in the gray area, Jackie.
B
He's right.
A
Like, they're very easy ways to figure out whether this was a real profile or a fake profile. There's a digital trail.
B
And also, like, you do need to know if he was cheating on you because you should not have sex with him.
A
Yeah, of course. No, no. So like, don't let him gaslight you into being like it was fraud. Like, you can figure it out.
B
Like, yeah.
A
Just because you have like a fake. Your credit card got stolen, everyone's gets stolen.
B
And also like, what's the fraud? Like they could have been. Is it him saying it's fraud?
A
Right. You like, you need to spend like an hour. It'll be really quick, like figuring all this out.
B
Yeah.
A
And once you start the audit, he might just come clean. Perhaps, like save yourself the time because who knows what else you'll find, you know, Perhaps.
B
And hopefully he can like rehabilitate himself.
A
Hopefully. And if. And nothing else, just he's your living nammy.
B
We'll see you in a year and a half.
A
Literally. Hey, Jackson. Claude. My husband and I got married about Nine months ago, we didn't live together before and we were both night shower people. So naturally newlyweds infatuated with one another, we started showering together every night. But now, nine months later, we still shower together every night. And I'm growing hate it. First, we have a tiny apartment shower. We're cramped and only one of us is under the water at a time. Second, I'm in the shower to decompress and get clean. But he loves the quality time. Wants to hug and kiss something deep within me. Gets so irritated when I'm trying to wash my hair and he grabs my boobs. I feel like I'm so far deep into showering every day with him and I don't know. I'm sorry. And I know that he loves getting to be together during this time. And he's so genuinely sad if he comes home and I tell him I've already showered. So married swirlies. How do I tell him to phase out of showering together?
B
Yeah, you need to just like start, switch up your schedule. Like, yeah, shower before. Like, say you got like a keratin treatment and now you have to shower in the mornings for your hair. Like, I don't think you need to have a sit down and be like, I don't like showering together because that will hurt his feelings. And of course, at the end of the day, like, he's doing this because he loves you and like, he wants to feel close to you.
A
But no, I just want to say I disagree. Like, I think you can have a sit down conversation and tell him, like, if you don't have your shower time, like, and you're just kind of setting the tone tone for the rest of your relationship. Like, even when you live in close quarters with someone, the one place that you have to yourself is like, when you're taking a dump or you're taking a shower, like, and he's taken that from you. I just think, like, communicating this is like a good opportunity, kind of a. Kind of like a very innocent opportunity for you to like, reclaim and like, just be like, listen, I love you. And like, we could shower together sometimes, like daily, like, for a girl. Like, we have a lot to do. Like, can you off?
B
You could do that.
A
I would do it. This is a situation where I feel honesty is the best policy and it's a good practice for, for just like saying hard things, communicating. You just got married, you're gonna have lots of conversations like this even harder.
B
Yeah, but you could also just subtly back away from the shower.
A
Yeah, of Course you can change your routine. Yeah. Get a perm.
B
Yeah. Like shower before him. Yeah. Also if you have a perm, then you'd be like, well, you get my hair wet and. Yeah.
A
So there's a million, like, fake excuses where you could, like, blame just being her girl. But I think here, like, let's exercise our communication skills. Okay. It's not a slight against him, like, to want to shower by yourself, which is like a basic human Right. I don't think you're asking too much. And I think if we, like, have to skirt around it, you're setting a bad precedent.
B
