Claudia
Good morning, girlies. It's the Toast. It's Jackson Claude, and we're your host. It's your favorite show, the best five
Jackson Claude
things you need to know. We'll start your day off Swirly. It's the Toast.
Claudia
They sound amazing.
Jackson Claude
Welcome back to the Toast and happy Tuesday. Hope everybody's having a great day.
Claudia
Great day of the twos.
Jackson Claude
I am feeling. You know, I'm just kind of leading with gratitude today.
Claudia
And what are you feeling gratitudinal for?
Jackson Claude
Well, I almost LML'd on the way here.
Claudia
LML lost my life.
Jackson Claude
I almost lost my life.
Claudia
Well, I lost you on the road.
Jackson Claude
Okay, Let me tell you.
Claudia
Usually we pull out together. I'm either in front of you, or
Jackson Claude
you, like, have an obsession with sitting in traffic. I took the back roads today.
Claudia
I don't have an obsession.
Jackson Claude
You're obsessed with sitting in traffic.
Claudia
I was also, like, rolling calls, so I wasn't really, like, looking at where I didn't even notice there was traffic. I was just sort of in it.
Jackson Claude
So I was cruising, as one does, and, like, out of nowhere, the biggest turkey came flying across the street. I literally. It was like a. One of those commercials. Like, I. I stopped like, you know, the Subaru commercials, when it's like, they show you, like, what could have happened if you were an accident. I never stopped so short in my whole life. I must have been probably a foot away from the turkey. I. I almost. I came so close to killing the circuit, and he was just, like, flying across the street without a care in the world. My heart was racing. I literally just came back to, like, normal.
Claudia
Wow.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. It was crazy.
Claudia
It's turkey Lurkey time.
Jackson Claude
That's what I was gonna say. It's turkey Lurkey time.
Claudia
You have to read the children's story, like, about Turkey Lurkey.
Jackson Claude
Oh, I know Turkey Lurkey from.
Claudia
There is a story, like, about Turkey Lurkey. I. I'll get it for you.
Jackson Claude
Okay. Because Turkey Lurkey is just that song from that movie.
Claudia
No, but it originates from somewhere, and I'm pretty sure it's like a children's story to me.
Jackson Claude
Like, it sort of begins and ends with camp.
Claudia
The film, I believe. Also, it has to do with. What's the one? The chick, like, who hit his head?
Jackson Claude
Humpty Dumpty?
Claudia
No, that's an egg. The chick.
Jackson Claude
Well, it was gonna be a chick. Chick boom, Chicka pop.
Claudia
No, Turkey Lurky.
Jackson Claude
I'm not familiar with the turkey lurky lore at all.
Claudia
I'm gonna get you A present.
Jackson Claude
You know what? Like, I'm good.
Claudia
The good thing about the turkey, though, is, like, if you had hit the turkey. No, you would have been fine. It's not like a deer where it's like, if you hit the deer, the deer breaks the windshield. It's on your lap.
Jackson Claude
Right. Unfortunately, what they say is, like, if you are gunning for a turkey, like, if a deer comes out of the
Claudia
road, they say about deer, not about turkey, about deer.
Jackson Claude
They're like, free your own safety. Like, you actually should continue to floor it.
Claudia
You actually should go faster.
Jackson Claude
Because if you, like, stop short mid de. First of all, the deer is in your lap and the deer's still alive, so it's like kicking you. They say, like, you should definitely try to kill the deer. That's just what they say.
Claudia
If you. If a deer crosses the road as you're crossing, the deer go faster. It's just funny.
Jackson Claude
Like what? Little, like, life tips stick with you. That deer thing has always stuck with me. I actually saw a tik tok like, a couple of months ago that I keep thinking about because it can't possibly be true. It was from these, like, two female, like, self defense experts. And they were just giving like, little tips. Like, if somebody tells you this, always do this. And they're like, if someone like, holds a gun to you and says, like, get in the car. First of all, I believe this. Like, the chance of your survival drops by like, 98 if you go to a second location with them. They say that, like, you should run even though he has a gun because, like, statistically it's harder to hit a moving target.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
And I just, like, I don't know if I believe that you should run.
Claudia
Like, you think you should get in the car?
Jackson Claude
No, I don't think you should get in the car either. But, like, there's a gun to your neck.
Claudia
Mm.
Jackson Claude
Like, I don't know.
Claudia
I just feel like I'm not really seeing like, the. The tidbit.
Jackson Claude
Like, what?
Claudia
Like, of course you should run, but,
Jackson Claude
like, if he has you, you fight. Yeah, but like, if you run, you're just right there. Like, I don't know.
Claudia
I don't know that he really, like, I don't know what his intentions are. Honestly.
Jackson Claude
His intentions are to get you into the moving vehicle.
Claudia
Right. Not necessarily to kill you.
Jackson Claude
That's true. Oh, that is also what they said. Like, a lot of the times, like,
Claudia
they're just not trying to kill somebody.
Jackson Claude
They're bad guys. But killing, like, in public, like, it draws more Attention to them, it makes it, like, harder for them to get caught. So, like, they were just saying, like, almost, like, call their bluff. And I was like, I don't know.
Claudia
It's kind of risky, like, but, like, you might as well, because what do you have to lose? Because the other option is getting in the car.
Jackson Claude
Right, Right. At that point, like, you unfortunately don't have good options.
Claudia
You don't have much choices.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Choose yourself.
Jackson Claude
Just funny, but, like, life survival tips stick with you.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
Like, they always say, like, if you ever run into a. A bear, like, walk backwards and clap.
Claudia
And, like, hold your hands up.
Jackson Claude
Right. Yeah, I don't know about that one either.
Claudia
I don't know.
Jackson Claude
They were always telling us, like, what to do with bears because we went
Claudia
to camp last night. I was driving home late. I went out. I had a day yesterday. My college friends came to visit me. So we're, like, having, you know, a little college reunion. They're out in the Hamptons. And so yesterday we had lunch and we laid by the pool. We went out to dinner. We went out, like, late, and I was driving home, and, like, I was seriously driving so slow. I was so scared to see.
Jackson Claude
The night in the Hamptons is really scary.
Claudia
It's crazy.
Jackson Claude
There are no shoe lights.
Claudia
So Rebecca drove with me, like, halfway, and she taught me how to use brights, which was great.
Jackson Claude
You didn't know how to use brights?
Claudia
I knew how to use brights, but I didn't know that, like, when the signal has, like, a green light on, that just means your headlights are on. And when that turns blue, that means your brights are on, because I like to.
Jackson Claude
And if somebody's coming the opposite way, you have to turn on.
Claudia
But I didn't know when my brights were on, when they weren't. And then when I turned them on, I was like, you can see okay. And then there was light.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
So I was really nervous to drive home, but it was another check off the box. It's funny because when we were in college, I didn't drive. I didn't know how to drive. I didn't have a car. But, like, my friends did, and they drove me everywhere. And, like, it was just, like, part of life. It was just a fact of life that, like, I just didn't go anywhere, whatever. And now, like, driving my friends, it's so crazy because I've never driven them before. And it's just crazy to think about, like, you had all this freedom when we were in college. Oh, yeah, you guys were doing this yeah. You were doing this. Then Rebecca said it was probably good that I couldn't drive or have a car.
Jackson Claude
You would have gone home every day
Claudia
because I would have never been there. I would go to Utica and go to the mall. I just would have always needed it.
Jackson Claude
Forced you to bloom where you were planted.
Claudia
I would have always needed a break. It's true.
Jackson Claude
Or you would, like, literally drive home, like, enough feeling it. Let's go home.
Claudia
No, And I already went home, like, once a month, and that's through hitching rides, you know, train, plane, however I could get there.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
So if I could get myself home,
Jackson Claude
I would have gone home all but
Claudia
even more, which is crazy. So she's right. It was for the best that I had to bloom where I was planted. It's true.
Jackson Claude
But I'm like, you know, with lifelong
Claudia
college friends, it's crazy that you guys could just like, I'll just go get sushi in Utica.
Jackson Claude
That is also crazy to think about that. Like kids these days. I mean, back in our day, too. But like, 16 year olds can just, like, go places.
Claudia
I know.
Jackson Claude
Not on my watch.
Claudia
No, it's great. I'm happy for them. I'm just jealous that, like, I didn't have it sooner, but I guess there was really a reason, you know?
Jackson Claude
Yeah, they're really forced to.
Claudia
So we're just having a grand old time.
Jackson Claude
That's really cute.
Claudia
I feel like, like, such a mom. Like my college guy.
Jackson Claude
It's kind of giving, like, Netflix movie. It is giving, like the college moms, like, all getting together.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
Love that.
Claudia
Just like little reunion going wild.
Jackson Claude
So cut.
Claudia
Mom's gone.
Jackson Claude
Mild went like, literally at 10:30.
Claudia
I got home from dinner at 10:45. I was locked out of the house.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, I know.
Claudia
I'm just. And that's crazy because I haven't conducted my investigation as to.
Jackson Claude
Just so you know, I had no part of it. Because one thing about me and Ben is like, we sleep good knowing that, like, you every night, lock every door and window. Like, I leave every door open. I'm like, I'm not worried and I'm not locking it. Because I'm like, that's Jackie's job.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
So I thought for sure there was no way you would get locked out. Because who would lock you out but you?
Claudia
I know. And when I left the house, I made sure the door was open. I did check, and then I came back and I was locked out. So I do think that culprit has to be my husband. But he said he Said he made sure the door was unlocked for me.
Jackson Claude
We're talking about the front door. Yeah. I had no part of that. I. I don't lock doors sometimes.
Claudia
Like, doors are funny. Sometimes doors can.
Jackson Claude
Like, it wasn't a funny door situation,
Claudia
but, like, you know when the interior lock is on and you don't know?
Jackson Claude
No.
Claudia
The interior lock. Ben's always doing the interior lock.
Jackson Claude
Oh, my God. Ben is always leaving front doors open like, it's insane.
Claudia
Yeah. Like, where you, like.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Jigger it so that it's, like, clicks.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Yeah. So someone did that to me, and I was. I don't know what I would have done if no one. The garage. I don't have the code. And then, like, you.
Jackson Claude
Would you have the code?
Claudia
No, but, like, even if I did have the code, I would have. It would have to be an hour before I did that, because you would have flipped.
Jackson Claude
No, no, I was dead asleep. Like, I. That wouldn't have woken me.
Claudia
What if it woke you from yourself?
Jackson Claude
It wouldn't have.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And I would have known it was, like, an emergency.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
You need the garage code.
Claudia
Yeah, I do.
Jackson Claude
I'll tell you.
Claudia
But then I had already locked the garage door, so.
Jackson Claude
Got it. Okay. So you were locked out.
Claudia
I was truly locked out. I was gonna start throwing rocks at the window.
Jackson Claude
Okay. Juliet, let me know.
Claudia
In.
Jackson Claude
Well, that wouldn't have woken me up, so.
Claudia
No.
Jackson Claude
No.
Claudia
For Zach.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Zach is a light sleeper. Yeah, he is. So, yeah. It was just fun. We're having another girly day today.
Jackson Claude
So cute.
Claudia
Just. And I'm wearing another seamless.
Jackson Claude
I'm wearing shorts.
Claudia
I loved wearing a dress on the show yesterday. It was so comfortable.
Jackson Claude
There's a little flaw in my system. I'm sweating.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
So I wore shorts today just, like, embracing swirly summer because I knew that there was a blanket waiting for me at the studio. I'm really warm.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
And that's something I'm just struggling with.
Claudia
But I'm also excited to use this as an opportunity to get more Hill House dresses because I've always felt like I've had. I have enough Hill, but I only have enough for, like, six days of work, so I need more.
Jackson Claude
I love Hill House.
Claudia
I know. Somebody get more dresses.
Jackson Claude
So cozy. More. I heard they're opening up a store actually, in Palm Beach.
Claudia
Oh, nice. They have lots of stuff.
Jackson Claude
Everyone's kind of, like, freaking about it. I mean, like, Hill House X Palm beach is, like, such a big deal.
Claudia
Yeah. That's like Hill House X Williams Sonoma.
Jackson Claude
Yes.
Claudia
Which Is really, like, move the needle in my mind.
Jackson Claude
You that a mahjong set.
Claudia
I did know. I didn't know. I'm OMM loyal.
Jackson Claude
I'm. I am. Oh, my Mahjong loyal, too. But what I've realized, and obviously this is, like, easy for me to say now that I have 100 sets, but you really only need one. Like, you really only need one.
Claudia
It's true.
Jackson Claude
And I love all my sets and, like, I hope, like, to one day have, like, a beautiful display case. Like, how people have, like, craft rooms. I'm gonna have, like. And that's great and all, but, like, I use one.
Claudia
Yeah. All you need is one.
Jackson Claude
Unfortunately, all you need is one.
Claudia
Yeah. So that's what's new with us.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Just really quickly, I wanted to backtrack when we were talking about bears. I feel like something that happened to me, like, I don't talk about enough. I don't think I've ever brought it up on the podcast. Share your truth. It's like the time I did come face to face with a bear. I'm being. I knew you weren't gonna believe me. I know. I believe.
Claudia
You do? Sure. Tell us about it.
Jackson Claude
It was actually when you went to camp in the northeast, like, it was a big problem. Like, you weren't supposed to leave, like, a lot of garbage out because, like, a lot of times you'd wake up in the morning, all the garbages would be, like, overturned because, like, the bears were, like, out in the night looking for food. And one night it was, like, it wasn't late, but it was nighttime, and we were, like, all hanging in the bunk. And, like, I went to. If you were in a bunk, like, you know, like, they had, like, little garbages in the bathroom. But, like, the big garbage I feature throw away, like, food or whatever was outside on the porch. And I went to throw something out on the porch, and it was, like, legit. A bear, like, on my porch. And I just sort of froze. Actually. I'm having deja vu. I think maybe I have spoken my truth before, but when I think about,
Claudia
like, all the spot.
Jackson Claude
All the great. No, I acted like a champ. Like, boom. I flew back into the bunk, lock the door, and I, like, told everyone to hunker down.
Claudia
Saved lives.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And when I think about, like, the great things I've accomplished in my life, they're coming face to face with a brown bear. I always forget, but, like, I did that shit.
Claudia
The bear was on the porch.
Jackson Claude
Yes, he had, like, so, you know, there's, like, A couple of steps up to the porch. Like, he was on the steps.
Claudia
He was on the steps.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And, like, it's just you never know how you're gonna react in a moment of, like, sheer panic. And I slayed. That's at a young age, mind you. I must have been like, 15 or 16.
Claudia
Yeah. That's good to know that you're capable.
Jackson Claude
The year was 2009 of acting with haste. Exactly. And I was in this bunk. It was when I went to Seneca. It was like a double decker bunk.
Claudia
So, like, the.
Jackson Claude
Obviously, everyone wants to be on the top floor, but, like, the top floor went to, like, the cool girls who had been at camp longer. And so, like, me and my friends, we were, like, relegated to the bottom. Like, whatever. We. It's more fun than those.
Claudia
I think I want to be on the bottom. I wouldn't want to be on the.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, well, like, you know, just like, people are, like, people are obsessed, like, having the top bunk. Like, when you're a kid.
Claudia
No, thanks. I'm a bottom bunk. You put your pictures on the bottom.
Jackson Claude
And so they never knew they could
Claudia
see pictures when you're sleeping.
Jackson Claude
They never knew trauma. Like, I knew they didn't have to deal with the bears. It was like us being left down on the bottom level to just sort of, like, fend for ourselves and protect the bunk. But I did.
Claudia
And you protected those ingrates on the top floor.
Jackson Claude
Actually, I never know what. You threw a T bone stake up to the second floor, and I said, so, yeah. That's sort of like one of the many things I've accomplished.
Claudia
Amazing.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, right?
Claudia
Yeah, amazing. Wilderness woman.
Jackson Claude
Wilderness woman.
Claudia
Plus, she saved a turkey today.
Jackson Claude
Oh, my God. Literally, friend to animals. I've obviously been campaigning against the butterfly eugenic center happening in our dining room.
Claudia
The butterflies are thriving, you guys.
Jackson Claude
I heard one died this morning.
Claudia
This morning.
Jackson Claude
But, like, these butterflies keep dying, and then Zach is over here being like, you guys are wrong. They're not dead.
Claudia
So, like, oh, yeah, he looks it up on chat. And like, the will be like, the butterflies doing this. And they're like, they're fine. They're just, like, figuring out. Figuring out how to flip over.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, I guess I'm whispering today about the dead butterfly.
Claudia
Oh, my God, I missed that. I must have been getting ready. I guess we're three days out, though, from the freeing of the butterfly.
Jackson Claude
That's a day like that. I'll. As an animal rights advocate who's seen blackfish documentary. That's a day that I'll Be celebrating. Like, seriously, like, I haven't participated in
Claudia
the most performative animal rights activist of all time.
Jackson Claude
Nobody hates more meat than me.
Claudia
I.
Jackson Claude
Nobody hates their dog more than me. So true. I have not participated in this abuse, but I will be present for the release day.
Claudia
Obviously, you've been campaigning for it. Yeah, finally.
Jackson Claude
That's definitely something I'm excited about.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
Because animals are friends.
Claudia
I agree.
Jackson Claude
Not entertainment. Not food. Would never. I would never eat an animal byproduct.
Claudia
You would never.
Jackson Claude
Never.
Claudia
Not fashion.
Jackson Claude
No. No.
Claudia
Never.
Jackson Claude
Not a friend.
Claudia
Not a friend.
Jackson Claude
Today's Tuesday, which means we does have deer. We does have. We does have deer toasters. The rumors are true. I deleted Alandria. And I think we should.
Claudia
Unfortunately, we don't have Nickelander updates today.
Jackson Claude
Oh, really? I saw she spoke. I thought you're gonna cheat.
Claudia
Yeah, just like I slip.
Jackson Claude
It would have been like a thread just being like, you know, we accomplished so much this year. She's talking to, like, her fans who are, like, seriously ill in the head. They're coming for us because we keep clipping. We're rage meeting, like, the Nickelodeon fans, and they just keep calling us, like, fat white bitches. Like, that's what they're calling us. One of them said we were fat white bitches with receding hairlines. Excuse me, I am fat and I am white, even though I am technically an ethno religion. But let's not get into it. I don't have a receding hairline bitch. Okay, like, let's speak facts.
Claudia
Okay, that's crazy. Where do you see such.
Jackson Claude
And when you guys are calling us fat like, we just had babies.
Claudia
Yeah, what's your excuse?
Jackson Claude
This is all happening on TikTok. Would you like me to read some of our hate comments?
Claudia
Oh, my God, I want to see them. It's funny.
Jackson Claude
I hate when you, like, need to see. I download Tick Tock if you need to see stuff.
Claudia
No, I can't see it that bad.
Jackson Claude
Let me do.
Claudia
I don't want to read this filth. I was going about my day having a good time. I didn't know we're getting hate. I had no clue.
Jackson Claude
Y'. All. This toast podcast. Count your days.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
White women with receding hairlines hating on Alandria. What's new?
Claudia
Is that a problem for her?
Jackson Claude
The receding hairline?
Claudia
Like, community hating on her?
Jackson Claude
I'm not sure. Oh, Andrea's contacting her lawyers.
Claudia
I'm sure she is not that bad.
Jackson Claude
No, no, they're on the toast. Let me. You really. If you Want me to pull them up here? Okay. Why do you guys have so much smoke for Alandria but not Nick? I actually think we're equally.
Claudia
You're not paying attention.
Jackson Claude
And we hold Oland.
Claudia
Pay attention, please. No, but they're. That's why, like, you can't comment on clips of shows that you don't watch.
Jackson Claude
Hope she sues y', all, too. Defamation of character, Calling them frauds. That's disgusting.
Claudia
Ugh.
Jackson Claude
The hate. It's exhausting. You would believe it's true. You would believe Alandra's with Travis Scott before her and Nick were ever being real. Y. Yeah.
Claudia
I'm not even saying Alandra is with Travis Scott. I'm just saying I like the rumor.
Jackson Claude
No smoke for Iris or Papaya. Breaking up by Reunion. I appreciate that they broke up by the reunion.
Claudia
By the way, no one's given Papaya more smoke than us.
Jackson Claude
And no one's given Papaya less thought than us. Like, we never voted for her.
Claudia
And. And Iris and Pepe, they mean.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
I guess there's, like, a lot of discourse right now with Iris, TJ and Pepe. I don't watch beyond the Villa, but the timeline, like, is not 100% legit for Iris. And remember when she left the island with Pepe, and then, like, that day Timsi caught her outside with. I think there was, like, more to it than that.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
And there's just, like, a lot of drama between the losers on beyond the
Claudia
Villa, but that sort of behavior is, like, exactly what they were doing on the island, where it's like, she's between two guys.
Jackson Claude
Right. You're testing connections.
Claudia
Yeah. So she's sort of just, like, finishing out the experiment. I don't really have a problem with that. I don't either, but, like, sure. Apples and oranges. Go ahead.
Jackson Claude
Sure. Nicholas Fraud.
Claudia
Yeah. Like, what are you talking about?
Jackson Claude
Like, they're multiple. I'm holding space for multiple truths. Yeah, but one thing that will always be true was that Nickel Landria was never.
Claudia
No. And it's like, we can't talk about nickelandrea's fraudulence because all these other couples broke up. Like, just like West Wilson can't talk
Jackson Claude
about trans women in sports because.
Claudia
Because there's war. I'm sorry.
Jackson Claude
We're holding space for multiple truths.
Claudia
I can have multiple conversations and opinions, and I often do, and I guess is that unique? I didn't think so, but maybe it is.
Jackson Claude
One thing's for sure. Nickel Andrea was never real.
Claudia
No.
Jackson Claude
And that's your Nickel Andrea Rage. Bait for the day. I feel. I feel better.
Claudia
Okay, without further ado to do to do it is time for the Fast 5 stories that you do need to know.
Jackson Claude
And the Fast 5 stories that you do need to know are brought to you by Amazon Music.
Claudia
They are because, Claudia, I was looking at my phone this morning and realized my home screen is actually embarrassing. I have a different app for everything. I'm listening to music in one place, podcasts in another, audiobook somewhere else. It's just too much.
Jackson Claude
I get it. It's very not sweeper friendly. But let me tell you, as the sweeper in charge here, you do not have to live like that if you're constantly bouncing between apps just to find something to listen to. There's a better way. And it's Amazon Music. We've been using Amazon Music Unlimited because it does all the music podcasts and now audiobooks in one app. So it just makes things a lot more streamlined and a lot easier. And speaking of audiobooks, guess who just started Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir?
Claudia
It's so good. Turtleoo. I just finished and there were multiple times where I would get home and just stay in the car listening or maybe drive around a little more to finish the chapter. The narration is incredible and you know how picky I am with audiobooks. Turdi. It's very personal.
Jackson Claude
I know.
Claudia
Absolutely. Toast certified.
Jackson Claude
I know I'm sold. So it's exactly the kind of book that makes errands feel exciting. So whether you're listening to your favorite playlist, catching up on podcasts, or like Jackie completely disappearing into an audiobook, having everything in one place just makes sense.
Claudia
Amazon music, music, podcasts, and audiobooks all in one app. Download today to start listening.
Jackson Claude
Today's app is also today's app. Today's episode is also brought to you by Roback. Let's talk about the category of outfit that is deeply under discussed, which is the outfit that can survive an entire we are not dressing for one activity anymore. We're dressing for the possibility that your morning walk becomes errands, errands become lunch, lunch becomes pickleball, and then suddenly you're at dinner wearing the same thing, pretending that was your plan all along. That's why Roebuck has become a staple for us this summer. It is very cute activewear, but not in a way where you look like aggressively athletic or like you're training for something. It's more sporty, pulled together, and that's really the energy we're trying to give this this summer, especially because, yeah, a Lot of days we leave the house for the toast and then lunch and, you know, trips to the Cape, clam bakes. Next thing you know it's like 6 o' clock and you're having dinner in the outfit you had breakfast in. They have really great skorts, which is such a good summer look. Really flattering. The waistbands are super comfortable. They give you a smooth held in feeling without being tight or annoying. And the colors that they come in are very pretty, classic neutrals, but also fun summer shades that make the whole outfit feel a little bit more styled. So whether you're golfing, playing tennis, walking, doing school pickup, running errands, traveling, or just trying to look like an eligible bachelorette at an iced coffee establishment, Roback has a look for you. Use code toast T O A S T on roback.com for 20 off your first order through the end of this week. Our first story, Word on the street is that Brooks Nader has split from Taryn Egerton amid Baywatch filming. She's living her best single life. So Brooks and Taryn have called it quits after being romantically linked four months ago. Their relationship with Cat was casual, but Brooks ended things with him, a source told Us Weekly. She's living her best single life right now and is embracing Neuro summer in San Tropez. The insider adds that Brooks is having a lot of fun during her downtime from filming Baywatch and juggling additional projects she currently has in the works. She's very busy and is excited to be single.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. I mean, I did not feel think that this was going to be, like, the end all. Be all. But at one point, like, they went to Australia together, like, which is where he's from, which is kind of like a big thing to do for, like, a fling.
Claudia
And they were together a lot.
Jackson Claude
Like, which is what more so than any other, like, hookup.
Claudia
Like, you spent a lot of time together.
Jackson Claude
Well, I'm not surprised that this didn't work out. Like, I'm surprised that it kind of
Claudia
fizzled quickly, that it was so short and, like, such. Nothing.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And I was, like, kind of down.
Claudia
Yeah. No, I don't know why. I was just, like. Was like, this is different. And also because he doesn't seem like someone she would choose. I'm like, well, she must, like, really like him.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
And no, she doesn't really like him.
Jackson Claude
Must have been fun for Taryn, because obviously this is, like, the hottest woman he'll ever be with.
Claudia
Maybe she does really like him. She's very much a lover girl, you know?
Jackson Claude
Yeah. She's not, like, shallow, and she's not, like. She's, like, not a. Like, when on her show she was saying that she got married super young. I think, like, literally, she had sex with just him. Like, she has, like, a lot of boyfriends now, but she's not, like, slutty. So, like, for her to, like, go and travel, like, I feel like she actually really liked him.
Claudia
Yeah. So I wonder what happened. I do think, like, all of this will be on next. Love thy neighbor. I think now.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, sure. One thing, Like, I'm starting to get annoyed, like, my page, and I'm not a patient person. I feel as though I've actually been incredibly patient.
Claudia
What did you say?
Jackson Claude
Person.
Claudia
Patient.
Jackson Claude
Patient.
Claudia
Patient.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, patient.
Claudia
Okay.
Jackson Claude
When you, like, don't like to wait for stuff.
Claudia
Okay. I didn't know.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Patient. It's a new word of the day, and I feel like I've actually been quite patient with this.
Claudia
And time's up.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Big time.
Claudia
But what does that mean? What will. How will your impatience present itself?
Jackson Claude
I don't know. I just feel like I used to talk about it really complimentary, like, I can't wait. And now it's like, you know what? I can't wait. Like, whatever. I already have.
Claudia
I'll keep waiting. Yeah.
Jackson Claude
And, like, hulu has released 1000 shows since then. House of Stasi premieres today. Like, but even House of Stassi didn't we hear about that, like, five years ago?
Claudia
It's true.
Jackson Claude
And then she had to, like, slum it on Vanderpump Villa just to get her own show from Lisa Vanderpump, and now she got it. So I understand that these things take
Claudia
time, and I just will never understand why we couldn't get the second half of the first season of Love. I need her.
Jackson Claude
Like, oh, yeah.
Claudia
It was filmed and ready to go.
Jackson Claude
Do you see the trailer for House of Stasse?
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
So I knew this, but, like, they did, like, tease a lot. There's, like, a big fight between Taylor Strucker and Katie Maloney. And, like, I just. Like, I'm so ready. Like, obviously, I'm gonna stand Taylor no matter what. Like, she's my best friend, and I was gonna have her back, but, like, she couldn't have chosen a more worthy adversary. And, like, I'm so Team Taylor. I don't even really know what happened. I told her, like, I wanted to watch, like, a true viewer. Like, don't tell me, Team Taylor. Like, I don't know what happened, but Team Taylor, of course, I can't stand that Katie Maloney.
Claudia
Of course she's also your friend.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So I would have. I would have had her back regardless. But now she made. At least she wasn't fighting with someone I, like, love, you know?
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
She wasn't fighting with Stassi. I would have been like, now I'm like, no, Team Taylor till I die or Lala. And honestly, good for her for, like, I feel like it's everyone's like, Katie and Sassy back on TV together. It's like, well, Katie doesn't do it for me. Like, I get why people are excited. Like, the Vanderpump rules.
Claudia
People are saying that.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, like, people love Katie and Saucy, like, Witches of Weho, yada, yada. And it's like, I'm excited for Taylor and Sassy about Kristen Christmas on what Happens Live, saying she does not speak to Saucy.
Claudia
Yeah, that makes sense.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
They would. Like, friends aren't. Some friendships are just not meant to last forever. Yeah. Not every friendship can or should last forever. No.
Jackson Claude
In the Witches of Weho, like, was dysfunctional at best.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
It was not meant to last forever.
Claudia
It's not meant to last forever. It's a moment in time. It's a phase in your life. But, like, we're on to the next phase, so I don't even think there has to be, like, major T. It's just, like, we have outgrown each other. We are different people, and we've grown in different directions.
Jackson Claude
Yes.
Claudia
I think that's, like, totally fair. And it doesn't have to be, like, contentious. And there's no, like, will they reunite? It's like, it's all good. Like, that we grew apart. Yeah. It's not like we're waiting for the comeback together.
Jackson Claude
So all that to say, like, Hulu has turned out plenty of content in the time that I've personally been waiting. I had a whole baby. Like, get it together.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
People put out on YouTube quicker. Like, yeah.
Claudia
I think Love Thy Nater came out, like, last September. Like, it's truly almost been a year.
Jackson Claude
No, it's been more than that.
Claudia
No, really. I feel like I was watching it in September. Like, if I. If I can, like, feel like that
Jackson Claude
was, like, two Septembers ago.
Claudia
No, no, no, no.
Jackson Claude
Really?
Claudia
Oh, my Beats not that bad. It's not that bad.
Jackson Claude
Okay. Maybe I'm, like, being so dramatic. Are you.
Claudia
Are you looking it up?
Jackson Claude
August 2025. So, okay. Like, less than a year. Okay.
Claudia
Sorry.
Jackson Claude
I don't know why maybe, like, so much has happened to me personally.
Claudia
Just, like, every day have wanted it.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
So every day feels like an eternity.
Jackson Claude
Wow, that's really crazy. Okay, never mind. I'm sorry for yelling. My bad.
Claudia
So you'll be more patient. You'll exercise more patience.
Jackson Claude
I'll do my best.
Claudia
Are you ready for our next story? Some coupley news. Kiki Palmer gushes over genuine chemistry with Hot one to Sean Evans after New York City date. So Kiki Palmer was on the Today show, and she gushed over her chemistry with Sean Evans. She said, our chemistry is genuine. I couldn't force that if I tried. We always felt that chemistry. It's like, essentially we met at work. We had chemistry. Work, husband, work, wife. You just have that chemistry with people. Then we hang out. When she was asked about how the Internet shipping them as a couple, how that makes her feel, she said, I was gagged that everybody was ready to marry me off. Guys, let it cook. They married your girl off in two seconds.
Jackson Claude
That's funny.
Claudia
She said she's not gonna let parasocial fans dictate what she does with Sean. She said, I don't let it define the way that I think. If anything, I'm always trying to contextualize things. A lot of times, I feel like people get that about me. You can't just take everything at face value. You have to be critically thinking about everything. You see? And then. Yeah. And then previously, she had spoken about it with Jay Shetty. Okay.
Jackson Claude
I'm, like, kind of scared.
Claudia
Like, I know it's a lot.
Jackson Claude
It's a lot of pressure, and I do feel like they were never seen
Claudia
again, but I do feel like they're seeing each other.
Jackson Claude
Oh, I really hope so. You do?
Claudia
Yeah. I think it's early days, and it's, like, not in a place where you would go on TV and be like, oh, my God, that's my boyfriend. Even if he is her boyfriend. Like, it's just early days, and you don't want to jinx anything, and you don't want to put things out into the public before they're solidified. You want to protect it. And I feel like that if that's what's happening, that. That this is what she should be saying, like, to have chemistry. I love that. Everybody loves it. And I could also see this, like,
Jackson Claude
being the thing that she says, like, when she's, like, not really into him. Maybe I'm just, like, projecting because I'm scared. I'm like. I personally have a lot. I'm, like, one of the people she's talking about who's, like, cosplaying.
Claudia
Work, husband, work, wife. Like, wasn't great that she said that.
Jackson Claude
Correct.
Claudia
It wasn't great.
Jackson Claude
It's giving dear toasters.
Claudia
But maybe she doesn't, like, know that those terms have a negative connotation.
Jackson Claude
I don't know. Like, Kiki Palmer is very much of this world.
Claudia
She is.
Jackson Claude
That's, like, why people love her. She's so real.
Claudia
But of the corporate world of, like, maybe regular degular.
Jackson Claude
Maybe not.
Claudia
Maybe not.
Jackson Claude
You see, she had Oprah on her podcast.
Claudia
I did.
Jackson Claude
She's so. I'm so glad, like, everyone, like, finally, I feel that, like, understands her talent.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
Took some people longer, but that's fine.
Claudia
It's fine. Just I love thy neighbor.
Jackson Claude
Right? Right.
Claudia
It will come, right? So, yeah, silently rooting for these two. Not gonna be one to put pressure on.
Jackson Claude
No, of course not. I would never.
Claudia
But just, like, sort of lapping up every sort of like.
Jackson Claude
Like, and, like, pinning a lot of my hopes and dreams on it.
Claudia
No big deal.
Jackson Claude
No big. In a not big deal kind of way.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Our next story is amazing news for the cardboard sweepers out there.
Jackson Claude
Cardboard sweepers.
Claudia
What's going on for the digital sweepers? Peacock will start to be included in YouTube Premium subscription bundle starting in 2027, you guys.
Jackson Claude
This is how it starts, by the way.
Claudia
Like, this is how it starts because
Jackson Claude
like, like every TV network at one point that they formed like cable, you know, like, that's what's going to happen.
Claudia
Yeah, they all buy each other up now and then we have like big.
Jackson Claude
You pay like one thing to the cable company.
Claudia
You pay Netflix and you can watch everything.
Jackson Claude
Right?
Claudia
And YouTube and that's cable.
Jackson Claude
Oh, that's very interesting. So I have YouTube TV.
Claudia
That's.
Jackson Claude
That's not YouTube Premium, is it?
Claudia
I feel like it is because when
Jackson Claude
you buy YouTube, YouTube Premium is like for the YouTube app, when you want to like skip commercials and be able to like download for your flight.
Claudia
No, but like, if I'm paying for
Jackson Claude
YouTube TV, I don't think you get Peacock. Honestly, that's crazy. Yeah.
Claudia
Oh, It's a new YouTube Premium bundle. Okay. So under a new multi year agreement between NBC and YouTube, Peacock Pre and precock Peacock premium, which includes ads, will be available in a new.
Jackson Claude
So what's premium about it?
Claudia
In a new YouTube Premium bundle in the U. You guys, this is just like simplify it. Okay.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, it sounds like, like no one's getting like a good deal here.
Claudia
Just simplify it. Yeah, like if you play geek goop and beep, literally you can have bleep up for dinner, then your bleep won't have creepy bop.
Jackson Claude
It's true. It's literally so true.
Claudia
Like, just simplify it. Can I have YouTube and Peacock, please?
Jackson Claude
I think that's like what you get. But only if you buy YouTube Premium, which, like, which is a new thing. I just want to say. No, it's not a good thing. I just want to say nobody has YouTube Premium. No, it's like not a popular thing. So this is how they're.
Claudia
YouTube Premium. Cost 15.99amonth and provides ad free viewing on YouTube.
Jackson Claude
I'm sorry, 15amonth to like skip ads on YouTube.
Claudia
The ability to play videos in the background, download for offline viewing. We pay for YouTube Premium. Do you remember what. When. When Shane Dawson and Jeffree star.
Jackson Claude
Of course that actually that is true. Did they collab upgraded because we were going on a flight and so we
Claudia
wanted to download every episode because we were so obsessed with it.
Jackson Claude
The level of embarrassment I feel for being so obsessed and at least I wasn't alone. Like it was millions of people and like normal people. Like, we're normal. We weren't even like big YouTube fans.
Claudia
I never heard of Shane Dawson. Like, I think this was like also my first foray into Jeffree.
Jackson Claude
The way I bought YouTube Premium. Yes, I did. I Bought makeup. I was like, streaming every episode the second that it dropped. Like, am I okay? We were so obsessed with it. Why?
Claudia
I don't know. I think it must have been really good. It was, considering all of those factors. And yet we were still obsessed. And, you know, we're discerning women, and
Jackson Claude
for a really long time, like, they held the record for, like, most sales generated on a Shopify website in a 24 hour period. Like, it wasn't just us.
Claudia
We are discerning women of taste. So they were obviously doing something. And I just want to say, like, I'm not embarrassed that we did that. I think I am. It just shows range, right?
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
No, and it shows, like, open mindedness,
Jackson Claude
but it also shows that, like, we. And maybe it's because, like, we were younger back then, but I really feel that, like, I'm sort of above getting, like, swept up in things. And I see, like, even Nickelandria, like, I see people getting swept up. It's like, I'm not. Like, you can't convince me. But you know what? I was convinced there was a time.
Claudia
But, like, that was the truth, right? Like, it. What was.
Jackson Claude
You know, it was just like, so not us. It was.
Claudia
And that this ugly,
Jackson Claude
like, man.
Claudia
Man was like, selling the most popular collab.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Men wear makeup. Like, not him.
Claudia
No, no, no. That he was.
Jackson Claude
Seriously.
Claudia
That it was him.
Jackson Claude
But remember that scene when they were like, rear. So they had all the colors, but, like, they weren't in the palette yet. They had them in the plastic little tins and j. I'm screaming. Jeffrey was like, arranging it so, like, how it would be in the palette. Like the color story. I think that's what it was called back then. And Shane is watching him and he's like, like, like watching Michelangelo paint the sissy job. He's like, whoa, whoa. Like, it's like, so dramatic and he's just like moving eyeshadows in a square. Oh, my God. Like, that was such an amazing time to be alive.
Claudia
It was.
Jackson Claude
We were having fun.
Claudia
And I do feel certain that, like, there was something there. There was that. That had everyone, like, it was a combination. Including us.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, it was a combination, like, of the time where, like, YouTube drama, like, was really, really popular and makeup collabs, like, between huge companies and these influencers were, like, insanely popular. It was like, very, like, King Kylie with these crazy colors. So, like, I get it. I get why we got caught up. But, like, like, me, now, I could never.
Claudia
No, I know.
Jackson Claude
I guess it just speaks to, you know, Maturity.
Claudia
Yeah, it does. Which. There's a time and a place.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
For the conspiracy palette.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. I held on to mine for a while. Me too.
Claudia
Collector's item.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And let me tell you, that big. Like, that was ugly. Like, first of all, not one color could I use. They were, like, sparkly greens.
Claudia
No, the sparkly green didn't make it.
Jackson Claude
Right.
Claudia
And then they made it.
Jackson Claude
They made it a separate shade because people were, like.
Claudia
So, like, they remade the palette and they included it, and, like, that's. They sold even more palettes from people who had already bought the first palette because there was one new color. But then, let me tell you, I thought about it.
Jackson Claude
The palette itself.
Claudia
I thought about it. To buy a green color that I've never worn in my life, and I never will wear the palette itself that's
Jackson Claude
unmarked, weigh 15 pounds. It was like a treasure chest with, like, a lock and.
Claudia
Oh, I didn't have that one. I.
Jackson Claude
The conspiracy.
Claudia
I got the.
Jackson Claude
The mini.
Claudia
Just the black square. I guess I didn't go crazy.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And then I did become, like, briefly obsessed with Jeffree Star cosmetics, and I do think that, like, the quality was there. Like, I think one of the best palettes, like, ever made was the orgy palette.
Claudia
It was great, except for the names
Jackson Claude
of everything was like, come sucker. Like, it was just insane. And it said big orgy on top. But it was, like, 30 of the prettiest neutrals, like, all from, like, beige to brown. Like, things that I use. Like, I don't use anything besides beige and brown on my eyes. And that was, like, that deserved the hype of the conspiracy palette. And it was just, like, embarrassing. My makeup artist, Carl. Yeah.
Claudia
Like, this is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Can you buy it?
Claudia
Like, but let me shop the conspiracy palette.
Jackson Claude
And it was, like, it was Conspiracy Amazon. It was conspiracy themed because, like, it was a palette collab with Shane Dawson. Right.
Claudia
And he, like, does conspiracies. Chuck E. Cheese recycles old pizzas.
Jackson Claude
Right.
Claudia
Which, like, do they.
Jackson Claude
I can't speak on that.
Claudia
You've seen it, though, right? No, so.
Jackson Claude
Oh, yes. That they, like, make pies with, like, slices from other pies.
Claudia
Yeah. Like, if you bought a pie and you didn't eat all the slices, they'll take the slices that weren't eaten and put them in another pie.
Jackson Claude
Obviously, like, it's not great, but there. There are people that do worse things in their restaurants.
Claudia
No, that's really disgusting.
Jackson Claude
Oh, okay. Yeah.
Claudia
And it's like, then you see a Picture of a Chuck E. Cheese pizza pie. And it does look, like, connected. It's not connected. There's not harm.
Jackson Claude
There's not like, cheese bridges between slices.
Claudia
Yeah. Where like this. This cheese was broken from that cheese.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Let me look at a piece of here. Like, sorry. This is really. Damn.
Jackson Claude
Maybe it was just like. That is. Maybe it was just like, one location, you know?
Claudia
Or maybe this, like, one picture.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
That is so funny.
Jackson Claude
How did we start talking about this?
Claudia
I don't know. I'll find any opportunity to bring it up. Of course.
Jackson Claude
What was the story?
Claudia
Why we once paid for YouTube Premium.
Jackson Claude
Oh. Oh, yeah. Of course. Also to say, very normal. I would love to get free Peacock, but not. I. I don't need YouTube Premium.
Claudia
And how do you feel about ads?
Jackson Claude
If I'm paying for a subscription? There is no world in which there should be a subscription that has ads. If you're gonna give me. If I'm gonna get the free version. Of course, yes. Give me advertisements if I'm paying. And there's literally one commercial. That's. That is. But that's like, a new thing now.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
A lot of these services have, like, multiple tiers, and some of the tiers are like, yeah, you could pay less, but you still got commercials. I'm sorry. Commercials are insane.
Claudia
Yeah, it's wrong. Well, that's, like, freebie is free.
Jackson Claude
Right. But there's a lot of commercials, but that's fine.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
And that's why I like Blue Blah. See, I always buy.
Claudia
I like to watch out.
Jackson Claude
Blue Blah. I always buy, like, the most expensive version of a subscription service. And that's why.
Claudia
Big spender.
Jackson Claude
That's why I cancel them in the off season, of course. Because. Yes. When I'm not using Peacock. Like, I have the most expensive peacock. I think it's like, $16 a month.
Claudia
So.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Like cardboard. Take that in your cardboard and smoke it.
Claudia
Yeah. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? Which is our fourth story? So a little more updates in the Paige Paul influencer gate.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, I saw. And, you know, we had posted a clip about this, and people had a lot of strong responses. Yes.
Claudia
It's very mixed in terms of what people are saying. And the. The store itself, I think it only
Jackson Claude
proves, like, how normalized influencer hate has become.
Claudia
Wow.
Jackson Claude
No, for real. And it's like, y are influencers who are awful. Right. Like, they film you without your consent, or they come and, like, ask small businesses for free stuff. Like, of course that be. Are. Are we just making generalizations now based on Stereotypes of groups of people. Yeah, I don't do that. Do you?
Claudia
Right. Like I thought we were not supposed to do that. I thought that's a bad thing to do.
Jackson Claude
Right. It's like the same way that like I always see videos of like a cop like being really mean. Like and then they say like, oh, she sued and she got. Does that mean all cops are bad? No, like we're judging a group people based on their job. Jobs based on the work of like select individuals. Like that's actually exactly what we were taught not to do.
Claudia
Right.
Jackson Claude
It's called stereotyping.
Claudia
The store posted an in feed first a picture of the sign and then said, our Shop is a third generation antique business about to celebrate to 100th year doing business on the island next year. In our store we promote art and our antiques and represent over 40 artisans of all nature and arts and crafts, yada yada yada. No offense, but John, I guess that's the owner didn't even know who PAIGE Paul was 24 hours ago. He doesn't really do social media. I had to tell him the no influencer sign isn't about her and never was it.
Jackson Claude
Her comment did not say assume.
Claudia
No, we assume we did.
Jackson Claude
And I think that like she represents the culture. But she never said like I'm taking this person. She actually made a great statement on behalf of influencers worldwide. Yes, but so they're sort of focusing on like look, she thinks it's about herself. She never said that.
Claudia
This person said. This is a cultural discussion, one to talk about openly and honestly in your own community. Community and neighborhood.
Jackson Claude
Oh, okay.
Claudia
Do you like people filming around you, talking on your streets into tiny microphones, recording themselves in your shop? Recording you incidentally, walking past a ring light as you quietly make your way to get a coffee at 8am recording next to you as you try to eat with friends. The list goes on and on. So it's really more of a statement on influencer culture and, and the, and the annoying influencer. Sure. But you and Paige responded to this in a comment. She was in our comments. I know, because someone was like, it's annoying, you know, with people are filming
Jackson Claude
and blah blah blah and asking for free stuff. Like I agree there are things that influencers do that are annoying. There are accountants do that are annoying. Like stop trying to make me pay my tax bill. Like I don't know why we're like focusing so heavily on what this particular industry does wrong.
Claudia
Like so the person commented saying, I feel like the no influencer Sign means don't be in here making content. Like, come and be normal. Don't be an influencer in our store. I don't feel like it means if you're an influencer, they don't want you in it at all.
Jackson Claude
But that's what the sign said.
Claudia
She said they could have made a sign that said that, but they didn't. They could have made a sign that said no filming.
Jackson Claude
Right. No content. If you wanted it to be snarky, sure. Like, you could have made like a story about. No, they literally said no influencers. I'm sorry, you're not going to change my.
Claudia
They're banning people, not behavior. Like, I don't feel comfortable going into that store.
Jackson Claude
I, I, like, I couldn't go.
Claudia
I, I can't go. And the thing is, I would never start, like filming and like being obstructive in the store. And I'm the first person to be like, don't get randoms in your content. Don't.
Jackson Claude
Of course.
Claudia
And I'm so sure it's like a
Jackson Claude
code of ethics when you are a person who films in public. And yes, a lot of influencers do not follow that. And a lot of them also, like, you know, their shtick is like sort of slapstick public humiliation. So like they thrive on being sort of nuisances in public. And yeah, that's all well, and, and we can have a conversation about that. But that's not what these people were doing.
Claudia
No.
Jackson Claude
So now you want to change it to be like, that's not what you're doing.
Claudia
Yeah. So. Right.
Jackson Claude
No, you were just straight up discriminating.
Claudia
You were.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Say no filming, no Instagram, no content.
Claudia
Right.
Jackson Claude
No ring lights.
Claudia
Yeah, no ring lights are like annoying people. And you know what? They're not even like influencers.
Jackson Claude
Correct.
Claudia
They're the wannabes.
Jackson Claude
It's so true.
Claudia
Yeah. And then people like, will have content. They'll have someone in the background, they'll like zoom in on that person's reaction. Like, I don't like stuff like that.
Jackson Claude
I hate that. I don't like people who film other people. It's actually like a big drama right now. I don't know if you saw this guy, like went over to this couple who was like making out in a park, like a public park, and was filming them. It was kind of giving Astronomer.
Claudia
I saw about it. But please.
Jackson Claude
They're like two high profile lawyers who I believe are having an affair, but it's like, it's kind of like their business. Like, have an affair.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
You know?
Claudia
Yeah. And it's like, with Astronomer, it was like, well, don't go to a concert together.
Jackson Claude
It was like. It was an unfortunate. Like, they didn't mean to, but, like, people go to concerts, and it was like, you can't just, like, walk up to somebody and film them. Like, I'm sorry. I'm actually with the adulterers on that one.
Claudia
Yeah, no, they're, like, conducting their business. What, say, can't go to the park. Like,
Jackson Claude
Right.
Claudia
You know.
Jackson Claude
Right.
Claudia
Are you ready for our next story? Our fifth and final. You know, it's a choose your own adventure.
Jackson Claude
Okay.
Claudia
Would you like to discuss LeBron further or kind of discuss Meghan Markle on Top Chef Australia? We could do both.
Jackson Claude
No, because we have to do Dear Toasters. Let's. We haven't talked about Megan in a while, so.
Claudia
And I.
Jackson Claude
And I saw the clip of her.
Claudia
I've ignored this story for so long because I'm like, they're making it such a big deal. Like, yeah. And it's like, I feel like sometimes when we pick Meghan's stories, people are like, you just want to hate on Meghan. Like, you always paint her in ballet.
Jackson Claude
So I'm like, okay, so I just won't pick Megan.
Claudia
I just won't pick Megan, like, because this isn't news. Like, when anyone is a guest judge on anything, like, that's not news.
Jackson Claude
Right. And I don't pick Megan. I pick Clark. Let's talk about Megan. Because I saw the video. It, like, went viral of her actual appearance, and, like, the people were freaking out, and rightfully so. Like, it's insane. People are, like, kind of, like, freaking out about this. Yes. It's outsized news for a guest judging spot.
Claudia
And, like, it has gotten to a point where I've actually sat down and thought about it, because I just kept passing by, Megan's doing Megan, and I'm not gonna get in her way, of course. But then I was like. Like, I don't know. For the 50th time, I saw it, and I was like, meghan Markle is a guest host on Top Chef Australia.
Jackson Claude
Chef Australia. Why? So I think why I think it's interesting is because I feel like they're kind of making a sort of, like, obvious shift. They've sort of, like, you know, exhausted the resources of America, and obviously they can't go to the UK And Australia is like, this huge other world that is, like, has a lot of popular culture, has a lot of media, and so, like, yeah, let's start like, like, farming there. And I feel like she just did that event, remember? And it was in Australia, and now she's on Master Shop. I feel like they're just gonna start, like, milking Australia next. They're taking over the world one continent at a time.
Claudia
I wouldn't say they're taking over the world because they didn't take over America.
Jackson Claude
They almost did. Like, they almost. I just want to say, like, the collective, like, switch up on Megan and Harry should be studied, because they almost had us, like, by the balls. Like, everyone was obsessed with them. Like, everything they did. Like, yes. What's the queen? That's my queen. And literally, all it took was With Love, Megan to make everyone. That actually was the turning point.
Claudia
And his book.
Jackson Claude
No, people still, like, ate up the book.
Claudia
No, there was, like, viral clips of the audiobook With Love Jam and.
Jackson Claude
And Confessions of a Female Founder was bad. Yeah, that's like, we've always been, like,
Claudia
a little bit critical, but also, it's like, here's the. What the problem was more so this. It's like, they came to us with this story, and everyone was like, oh, my gosh, yes. Like, privacy and private. And it's like, with every move they made, that was, like, antithetical to their mission. Yeah. It just chipped away at what they did more and more. So it wasn't just, like, one thing, but, like, even the documentary, it's like, wait, you're putting out a documentary about this story that, like, all you.
Jackson Claude
Insanely private.
Claudia
You're getting so personal. And we're like, okay, that's a lot. But, like, tell your truth. Tell your truth, and then it's the book. And then you go back and, like, remember the Oprah thing? And it's like, wait, you guys are literally, like, doing the opposite of what you said that you wanted. And it's just coming off so hypocritical and authentic. And then the more and more in the. With Love and the podcast, it's like, wait, you guys are actually, like, the thirstiest people alive. When you said that, like, you were wanting to be dehydrated, they overplayed their
Jackson Claude
hand because people in America were, like, giving them a lot of grace. It was like, yeah, they want privacy, but, like, yes, give us the documentary. So imagine how much they had to do for people to, like, finally, like, really turn on them. So they. They've sort of exhausted all the options, and I think that they're headed west, east, wherever. I don't know.
Claudia
It depends which way you want to go. Where you're flying from. Right.
Jackson Claude
They're headed to the outback.
Claudia
They are. So. Okay. I like that theory because first I was like, this is so nice.
Jackson Claude
Last two public appearances were both in Australia and not on the same trip.
Claudia
Like, but it's like, I couldn't even imagine her being on, like, MasterChef America. America as a guest judge. Like, that's just like, what, like, random former pop stars do. Like, it's just like, very random. And it's like one thing that you do in the sea of millions of other little things that you do. So. Like the fact that she doesn't do a lot of little things. I'm like, why this? Okay, so say they're taking over Australia. Like, why start with a master chef?
Jackson Claude
Well, I think she liked the. Maybe she learned, like, that's what. With love. Megan, like, wouldn't have been such a flop if it was the first thing she did out of the Brexit gate. Mexican. I think that, like, the role of, like, Joanna Gaines, homemaker is actually a good lane for her. She fucked it up in America, so maybe she's like, starting fresh in Australia with that. You know, she's not trying to be, like, an author or an actor. She's just doing food.
Claudia
Food.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
And she can go to Australia and be built as, like, the lifestyle guru. Food expert.
Jackson Claude
Yep.
Claudia
Even though we know here, like, it
Jackson Claude
wasn't just edible flowers.
Claudia
Yeah. And it wasn't expert. Okay. I also think based on the crown. So that's where I'm getting my information. Like, Australia really loved Diana and they're sort of going to go.
Jackson Claude
She definitely fancies herself a modern day Diana.
Claudia
No. And they're going to go soak up some of that goodwill.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, yeah.
Claudia
There's goodwill there for them.
Jackson Claude
That's true. The Australian people, like, I believe, are very friendly people. And I think they have a lot of love for the crown, but also, like, they understand the complexities of it. Yes. They love Diana. That's a good call, too. Maybe she thinks that, like, she'll be well received there.
Claudia
Yeah. Because.
Jackson Claude
But they're also just, like, running of places.
Claudia
Yeah. But there is a lot of, like, love to be had there for them. That's like, lingering from Diana.
Jackson Claude
From Diana. Like the whole Diana left in the outback.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
That's beautiful.
Claudia
Yes. So I don't know, I just, like, I. Once I started to think about, like, what she did there, I was like, that's really crazy that that's after, like, the woman who was really the most famous woman in the world at one
Jackson Claude
point is like slumming in on this random.
Claudia
She still is one of the most famous women in the world because like she's still famous whether or not she's liked or not. Like she's massive deal this random.
Jackson Claude
You would think she would like have different standards.
Claudia
Yeah. And it's just like, what's, what's the. What's the plan here?
Jackson Claude
Oh, I don't think they have.
Claudia
You know what I mean? Like, where's the manager? Oh, I don't think the brand story. How does this connect to the next movie? You know, Like, I just feel like it's just like there's no plan.
Jackson Claude
No, no. They're flying by the seat of their.
Claudia
And at this level. And just like I said with her social media, like I don't think she has. And she doesn't have. Have a social agency or a team. She does it herself. And like there's. Where are the professionals?
Jackson Claude
There are a couple of people who do their social medias themselves and absolutely have to stop Blake Lively being one of them. Have you ever like watched her Instagram stories? They're crazy. It's a reshare of a story of a reel from a post, like with the person, original person's caption and then the resharer's caption and then the caption and then Blake's caption in like funky text. And it's so long. Always like she has some of the worst social media ever and actually when she's obviously clearly trying to like come back from. From this and just like rebuild Goodwill and social media is a great place to do that. And she's really not doing herself any favors. It's awful. I heard Blake Brown Beauty is going out of business.
Claudia
Really? I haven't heard.
Jackson Claude
That's just what I heard.
Claudia
I haven't heard that.
Jackson Claude
Totally alleged unconfirmed.
Claudia
I like Blake Brown Beauty.
Jackson Claude
That's just what I heard.
Claudia
I don't, I didn't. I don't use it so much anymore because. Because it's too scented. But if you like scents.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Like a fragrance sometimes. I was craving fragrance when I met Jesse Draper and I was jealous of her hair smell.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Cuz a hair smell, like, is a perfume.
Claudia
I know. And it's like. But then I have to live with it 24 7, you know, just.
Jackson Claude
That's why I like getting a weekly blowout which yes, thank you for noticing, I did get yesterday because they like scrub the out of your hair and they always use like a nice salon shampoo. And you know what? You do have like a fragrance. My hair smells great.
Claudia
My hair smells great too.
Jackson Claude
For like a couple of cuz it's a deeper wash than you get at home.
Claudia
My hair smells great.
Jackson Claude

You guys have been watching the show for eight years and have we ever slipped up?
Jackson Claude
No, not once.
Claudia
And here until today. Here are the three chosen today.
Jackson Claude
Hey Swirlies. I need some advice. I just received a full wedding invite to a girl I went to high school with. She was invited to mine a few years ago. We're certainly not like close anymore or only text with each other in the last four years are the addresses to send invites. She's using a website for RSVP which has you add in your name and then lets you RSVP for your full party. I've tried every variation of my name and my husband's name and we just aren't on the line list. Do I text her and say it won't let me rsvp or do I just wait until she texts me to ask if we can come? We received to save the date and an invitation, so I think we're in there somewhere. But I don't know how to awkwardly ask if my name is spelled wrong or if she forgot to add us. I'm a super non confrontational person and severely awkward about social mishaps, so I'm not sure the best way to approach this SOS from a girly that doesn't want to make a scene.
Claudia
She got an invitation.
Jackson Claude
She got to save the date and an invitation. And like I think on these wedding websites you have to. You can't just rcp. It has to say Claudia Ashtray. And if that name is like in the system, it'll say okay, you're rsu. But her, she tried all these different variations and like her name's not there. And I think she thinks just because they have like this kind of like fake relationship and it's kind of crazy that she was invited in the first place, maybe the girl like changed her mind or uninvited her. But I think that if you were uninvited after receiving an invitation, it would have been a little bit more overt than like your name not adding up.
Claudia
Yeah, I think if she went to the trouble of sending you an Invitation, you're invited. And you know, technology is funky. Like, true. Also, that sounds really complicated. Like, that you have to spell your name exactly correctly the way that they thought that you would want. So I would just text her and be like, hi, Invitation was beautiful. I'm having a hard time RSVPing on the website.
Jackson Claude
Dan and I will be there.
Claudia
So excited to celebrate.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. And if you are uninvited, like, she does have to tell you.
Claudia
So you're sort of so excited to celebrate. Because, like, that could mean, like, even if we're not invited, like, it can mean we're getting drinks one day to celebrate your wedding. Like, yeah.
Jackson Claude
No, I think it's safe for you to assume that you're invited.
Claudia
I got an invitation. I agree. And like, like, by the way, it's not like the Oscars. Like, she can calm down.
Jackson Claude
Like, sometimes people do send a save the date and then you never get the invitation. It's like, well, you're not invited and things change and you got.
Claudia
But this wasn't a save the date.
Jackson Claude
She did get to save the date. And you also had the invitation. So I think you are invited.
Claudia
Like, Yeah.
Jackson Claude
I don't know why, like, and don't feel like.
Claudia
No. If you're coming from a place of, like, inferiority, like, you shouldn't. You don't deserve to be invited to this wedding. Like, this wedding is like, whatever.
Jackson Claude
Should be lucky to have.
Claudia
You'll be lucky to have a girl like you.
Jackson Claude
You know you're definitely invited, right?
Claudia
Dan and I will be there.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
Just.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Don't be like, is there something wrong? Just say hi to her.
Claudia
Got the invitation. So beautiful.
Jackson Claude
Having trouble doing the website, but wanna let you know, Dan and I will be there.
Claudia
So excited. Dan, so excited to celebrate.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. You're gonna look beautiful. Most beautiful ride. Don't lick her ass. Actually, take it back. She's a.
Claudia
Don't do the studs. Okay.
Jackson Claude
Hey, girlies. Love you endlessly. Help me get over an ick. I've been with my husband for a decade. We have four kids together. In the last few years. He is taken to sleeping naked and it's slow escalated to him walking around naked before bedtime. I'm just like, not a naked person. I like to be clothed. I sleep in pajamas. I get changed into at least my robe after showering. I wish I could just not be bothered by this, but I can't unsee it. It's so jarring to just see a full frontal penis so often. Also, when our kids come into our room. He's literally naked. He has to get changed under the comforter to quickly cover himself. To me, this is such a turn off. But he loves it. And he feels super comfortable like this. What do I do?
Claudia
Okay, this is, like, tough, but not so crazy. But I do like the idea of a robe. Like, you get the naked feeling. You do. And. And he could be naked sometimes, but his robe is, like, right there. And he can always be like, ro.
Jackson Claude
But how do you, like, tell the person? Because, like, this is the person who's supposed to love you unconditionally, and you're telling them to put their clothes on.
Claudia
Like, it's just. I feel like you can say that to some. To your husband of 10 years, you just be like, what's with all the nudity?
Jackson Claude
Yeah. But, like, you've kind of let it go on too long that, like, it's just life.
Claudia
You can make it about the kids.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. Like that they're getting older and, like,
Claudia
you don't want them always naked in the world.
Jackson Claude
Like, if letting them think that, like, oh, I get into, like, someone's house, I can get naked.
Claudia
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And also, like, gift him an amazing robe so that, like, he can sleep
Jackson Claude
in the robe, a silk one that feels just like. Like nothing.
Claudia
Yeah. Yeah.
Jackson Claude
Then you will get the ick. Senior man in a robe, but a
Claudia
different sort of ick.
Jackson Claude
Yeah. It's just proof, like, no matter how long you've been married, like, you're not. Everyone is susceptible to an ick.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
When was the last time you got a nick?
Claudia
That's a good question.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, I know. I should start, like, writing them down. It's not a lot.
Claudia
It's not a lot.
Jackson Claude
Oh, I told you guys, like, when Ben stole the covers for me, I got major ick. Like, go to war. Get out of my bed. And actually happened the other night where, like, he took them and, like, I took that. We were both asleep. Actually, I'm just remembering this now. He, like, grabbed them for me and I grabbed them back. I'm like, off. He grabbed the mug. I'm like, oh, you're disgusting.
Claudia
I feel like he, like, went to use a product of mine or something. You know what I mean?
Jackson Claude
That'll do it.
Claudia
I'm like, no, get out of here. Get out. Scram. Yeah, she doesn't want you. That sound of that girl. Yeah, scram. Get out of here. All right.
Jackson Claude
Our third and final Dear Toasters Jeer Jackson Turd. I'm a girly in need of advice. My husband recently lost his mom after a fast and brutal battle with cancer. And there have been some really hard family. Family confrontation since then. Lately, I've overheard him talking to himself in the shower a few different times. It's almost like he's in the middle of an argument or having a full conversation with someone. I genuinely can't tell if he's just processing everything that's happened or if it's something I should be more concerned about. I don't want to embarrass him and bring it up. Do I casually bring it up, or do I leave it alone? And it's his way of working out his grief. Sincerely, a toaster who does not want to overstep.
Claudia
When did she pass? Did it say, oh, sorry before you, like, throw away?
Jackson Claude
Yeah, sorry. Like, I'm done with the iPad in the garbage recently. Family.
Claudia
Okay. I would say, like, he's working through some stuff.
Jackson Claude
Yeah.
Claudia
I would allow him to do so. And don't, like, listen because obviously that's, like, kind of weird to hear as an outsider. I would check in on him and say, like, how are you doing? Is everything okay? I. And you could even mention, like, I've heard you sometimes, like, talking. You know? Do you want to talk about it?
Jackson Claude
It's crazy because, like, talking to yourself, like, is can be, like, very normal. It can also be, like, a sign of schizophrenia. Like, Like, I think a lot of people say, like, do it, and it's, like, very healthy. Like, I know you only talk to yourself in your brain, right?
Claudia
I'm always thinking to myself, like, who isn't? So what's the difference between all of that and saying it?
Jackson Claude
No, of course, like, I.
Claudia
But only, like, in pride, like, triggered
Jackson Claude
by a big trauma and the fact that he's doing it in the shower, which, like, for people. Some people sing, like, it's very.
Claudia
Oh, you're making fun of me because I said I have a viral clip
Jackson Claude
where Jackie was like, I don't talk to myself, but. But, like, no, you're like, I mean, I talk to myself, but, like, in my head. And I'm like, yeah, that's called thinking. One of our most.
Claudia
It feels very conversational.
Jackson Claude
Of course. Like, that's called having a brain.
Claudia
Like, I just feel like I'm always in conversation in my brain. You know, there's a difference. Sometimes I'm just thinking, like, up in the clouds. And other times I'm like, lawyer. Other times I'm lawyering.
Jackson Claude
I don't want to, like, be mean, but, like, you're not special. Like, that's what being human is.
Claudia
No, and the thing is, I don't want to be special. Like, I don't want that to be, like, an oddity. I don't want to be odd. So true. Special is odd. Agreed.
Jackson Claude
Special is different. I just want to be like. Yeah. Like, why stand out when you were
Claudia
born to fit in? That's like that new trend of, like, people who are sheep, where it's like, in a world full of Botox and filler and cosmetic enhancements, this is me. And it's like, the person in the crowd. Yeah. No, in the crowd. Just like a sheep. Not the one going against the. I know.
Jackson Claude
It's like, I can't always be this, like, individual, creative.
Claudia
I can't always be as someone who's a maverick. I don't also want to be special.
Jackson Claude
Just want to be, like a group thinker, you know? And that's how we ended up in the conspiracy theory palette, honestly.
Claudia
Yeah. Yeah. I. I don't want to say I want to be a group thinger. I just, like. I just want to be like a regular girl.
Jackson Claude
It's true.
Claudia
I just want to be a regular girl.
Jackson Claude
Be, like, poking holes.
Claudia
I'm glad to know that you guys are lawyering with yourselves, too.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, we are.
Claudia
Like, I am court.
Jackson Claude
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think a lot of people do that in the shower, so the fact that he's doing it in the shower, like, actually feels appropriate.
Claudia
Oh, right. Back to you. Sorry.
Jackson Claude
Sorry to make it about us.
Claudia
Sorry, Dear Toaster.
Jackson Claude
I didn't want to do anything. Like, she also said, like, things have been, like, contentious with family members, and they've been having, like, a lot of comfortable.
Claudia
He's learning.
Jackson Claude
And you know what? Maybe he's slaying those arguments because of the work he's putting into the shower.
Claudia
Yeah. And I would just check in, like. And I would say mention it, like, you know, I've heard you talking to yourself. I just want to make sure, like, everything's okay. You're welcome to talk to me, but, like, process how you need to process. No judgment. This is a judgment zone, 100%. But I think it's fine.
Jackson Claude
I think it's fine, too.
Claudia
Yeah.
Jackson Claude
