Summer's got a different tempo. Everything's a little looser, brighter. One plan turns into another. You hear something, you stay a little longer. Next thing you know, you're somewhere you didn't plan to be. It's those in between moments. That's where the ideas hit. Conversations stretch out. Little memories sneak up on you. Sometimes it's just about what's in your hand. That color, that chill. The new Tropical Butterfly refresher from Starbucks. Guava and Passion passion fruit flavors with mango pineapple flavored pearls. Yeah, that feels like summer before you even taste it. Funny how one small stop becomes the best part of the day. Start your summer rhythm with Starbucks. Try the new Tropical Butterfly refresher from Starbucks.

Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Hello and welcome to the Therapy Gecko Podcast. My name is Lyle. I am in front of a McDonald's in Brooklyn, New York, because. Because I love McDonald's. This is not sponsored. McDonald's didn't pay me to do this. McDonald's would probably prefer if I didn't do this, But I love McDonald's so much. I wanted to go and sit in front of a McDonald's as a gecko and talk to people. I don't know if any of these people are gonna want to talk to me because they're too busy enjoying their delicious McDonald's hamburgers and fries. But we're gonna try our best. So this is being a gecko in front of McDonald's. What's up, man? What's your name?
Julio
My name Julio.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Julio. Nice to meet you, Julio. I'm a gecko. What are you. Is this. Is this the whole crew? Is it. Who's.
Julio
Nah, nah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Who's the.
Julio
My shorty right now? I'm with my girl.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Which, which one is your.
Sufian
Where.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's your girl. Oh, I love that cherry Coke shirt. That's awesome.
Julio
Thank you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, thank you very much. Are you guys on your way to something or you just on a straight.
Julio
We about to be about to hit 7 11, get a slushy and shit.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, what kind of slushy are you going to get?
Julio
Not too much, but just like a mixture of something I was gonna say.
Starbucks Advertiser
Are you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Are you the kind of guy you get the mix of all the flavors?
Lady Liberty
Of course.
Julio
Of course. It tastes way better. When you mix the flavors, do you
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
try to maintain equal proportions of each flavor?
Julio
Yeah. Balance it out. Yeah, you put a little bit on the. Look, first of all, you gotta taste everything. You gotta sample it first. Yeah, you gotta sample it first. Take two, Taste at first, see what.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's good and what's bad.
Julio
And then once you know what's good, you just mix those two type of flavors on your way.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Do you have a. All time favorite flavor of slushy?
Julio
Oh, so my combination is coconut. They had the white one, the coconut, blue raspberry. And they had some other thing. They had a peach. A peach flavor, but I. It tasted way. It tastes like net. Back then it used to taste better. Okay. But now it's.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
They've changed the formula.
Julio
Yeah, they changed the.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Dude, you should send them an email telling them to change it. Sometimes they. Sometimes they crack under pressure. I will, I will. So this is your. This is your girl?
Julio
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How did you guys meet?
Julio
How we met?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
Well, we met at a. Well, long story short. Well, I met through her friends.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You met through her friends?
Julio
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, okay.
Julio
And stuff. Stuff clicked. We clicked together like peanut butter and jelly.
Tomei
Okay, cool.
Julio
Yeah. So it was. It was a good mess. And like we went through our Rocky, Rocky paces.
Sufian
Oh, okay.
Julio
Yeah. And then rough patches. But we soon got it together.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What was it that you like in your first encounter? Was there a moment or a feeling where you were like, oh, I feel like I click with this person. Like where you consciously knew it.
Julio
Like it was like a spiritual bond. Like. Yeah. Because we started as friends, which most people don't. Don't understand. That friendship actually builds the bond, the foundation of a strong foundation.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
And as I see in this world, some foundations are destroyed due to social media.
Sufian
Yeah.
Julio
And people Going behind your back, talking about you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
And. And it's like, it's kind of sad to see that. We just need more love out here.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Well, especially. Have you ever seen those like, like you're scrolling tick tock. And you see those videos that are like, here's five reasons to break up with your boyfriend. Five reasons to break up with your.
Julio
I'll be trying to tell her.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, stay off the media.
Lady Liberty
Stay off the media.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
The media.
Julio
Go. Go ruin us.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Julio
And most of the times we do argue sometimes, but I, I just, I just think that people should just walk up. It's good to walk away.
Sufian
Yeah.
Julio
It's the best reason. It's the best reason to just walk away and come back to this conversation.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
And rehash it and you'll get better. Is she gonna give me that look? She know I'm right.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, okay.
Julio
She says, but.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Ah, it's like dismissing what I'm trying to say. Okay. She said, she said that if you guys couldn't hear, she said that she prefers to talk it out before walking away. But. But I think I. I think what you're getting at is where you're like, no, let me walk away first so that my emotions are out of it and then go back after the emote. Yeah, I get, I get, I get what you're saying where you're like, I still want to see it, but does he still talk it out? But so you said he said he has emotions. Okay. She said he doesn't show his emotions sometimes.
Julio
But it's like, but it's like, how am I supposed to talk to a person normally without putting the emotions. Because the emotions get away. It's like solving the solution.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I get you. You need to. You need like a second to calm down and, like, let the emotions flow through you. And then after that, because right now
Julio
I'm in a headspace of like, I. I need to process what she's saying.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, I get you.
Julio
And process and take it in at once. And then. And then I could be like, okay, this is how I feel. This is what we could do to make it more better for us to get past. Past whatever.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
And it's not. And it's not most, Most people. Most people is just like, oh, we just. We just gonna break up. It's simple. No, it's.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, but then you end up hopping. Then you get in a relationship with someone else, some problem comes out. I guess there's always gonna be a problem.
Julio
It's always gonna be a problem. But it's It's. It's all about how. How can we not. Like, how can we not make it into a negative space?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, I get you.
Julio
A negative space where people can't just rationalize and, like, socialize. Like, people stop talking after. After a certain point in time, like, after Francis. Francis get destroyed from that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
And it's. I know. I know there's people that don't even talk to me, but I still. I still don't have that feeling of emotions for, you know, to hurt you.
Sufian
Yeah.
Julio
It's not. It's not bad intentions. It's like I'm giving you the space because you might need that for yourself.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
So you can process what you saying and how you're feeling, and then we can come as one and we could still. And we still could be friends. Like, it's. It's. No.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How long have you. How long have you guys been together? For almost 10 years. 10 years. Holy.
Tomei
Really?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
10 years. Wow. 10th anniversary. Yeah. Whoa. 10 years. Holy. Man, that's crazy. How long have you guys lived in Brooklyn for you guys born here?
Julio
Since I was a kid.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Since you were a kid? Since you saw. Because since both of you guys were kids.
Sufian
What.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How is the. I'm curious, how has the city changed since you guys were kids?
Julio
Hey, you. It used to be more. More like, lively.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You really think it's gonna be.
Julio
It used to be a lot. It used to be like, it. Right now it's all grayish. It's like a gray area or something.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
Like, it's. But it's gonna get better. It's gonna get better.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Really? What makes you feel like it's gonna get better?
Julio
It's just like. It's a feeling. It's like, yeah, sure, you could feel it. Like, everybody used to be as one. Like, it's like I was growing up in the hood, so how I was raised was like everybody knew each other. Everybody. Moms knew who moms was. Everybody used to hang out, chill, spend that time over, do everything. But right now, like, it's like a disconnect in New York. So
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
do you feel like the. The connection and the everybody kind of knowing each other will return to New York? Is that the feeling you're getting?
Julio
Yeah, because I feel like it will change. It will get better due. Due time.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
Because I. I feel like it's a lot of hurt in here and people. People don't. People are falling back to, like, deal with their emotions and all that, because nobody is not gonna. It's a lot of death around us. If you. If you don't see. If you don't see it and you don't see the signs, it's pretty bad. It's pretty bad. But people are trying not to hold it in contempt and still have fun with. With life.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Do you. How do you. How do you personally continue to have fun with life in spite of all the death you see?
Julio
It's just take it one day at a time. It's always been taking it one day at a time. We can't slow it down. We can't. Okay. That's all we could do.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah. It's even. Even in a situation where you. You've, like, around, like, you know, death or bad things, you still gotta carve out time to make a mixture of coconut blue raspberries, Slurpee. Dude. That's. That's the. That's the key right there.
Julio
Exactly.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You gotta. You gotta enjoy those little things, you know, you gotta join the living.
Julio
You gotta. I'm always. I'm always. I'm always trying to. It's always a. It's always, always try to bring her into it too, because, like, sometimes people are defeated in life. You will feel the depression. Depression is real.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Julio
Can't. You can't avoid it. You just gotta go through it. You go through the storm, you get. Get through the path. You get to the path that you want to be.
Tomei
Do you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Do you feel like you're on the path that you want to be?
Julio
Keep on pushing, keep on walking.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Totally.
Julio
You'll change. See. See, I got these. These bracelets.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, what's on the. What's on the bracelets? I see a little thing.
Julio
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, that's cool. Oh, is that. Is that. Jesus? Who's that?
Julio
That's. I forgot what she. This lady told me what. What was the image? But I forgot. But she told me it's good to change. It's good to change. It's good to change through the storm. As I kept wearing this bracelet, I started changing people got to make the change. We used to be unhealthy. We used to be. Used to be not educated in the head. We just gotta rewire our brains, think differently.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your name again, man? Julio. Julio, thank you very much for your time, man. I appreciate it very much.
Julio
Keep, keep, keep, keep telling these people how to. How to get their car insurance.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Is there anything else you want to say to the people of the computer before we go, Julio?
Julio
Oh, stay healthy, Stay in mind. One body, one soul. All love is peace. Thank you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Enjoy your slurpee. Dude. Bye, guys. See you, man. I guess I might have to go and get myself a Slurpee after this too. Do any of you guys want to talk to a gecko? What's your name, man?
Sufian
Sufian.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Sufian. What's your name? Nice to meet you, man.
Sufian
What's your name?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What do you. My name is Lyle.
Sufian
Liar.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Lyle. What's up, brother? How's life? What's. What are you up to? What are you up to today? I saw you. You were riding on your motorbike.
Sufian
Yeah, it was just like going home.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
We can. We can they. Yeah, we can. We can talk past the. There's gonna be lots of sounds.
Sufian
Going home. I saw you when it was like, when he was putting the stuff. Yeah, I was in the stop and it's a little bit interesting.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Is it fun riding the motorbike around New York? It looks fun.
Sufian
It is, yeah. A lot more cycles, but, like, here in New York, you cannot enjoy, like, a motorcycle for all the seasons, you know, like, just right. Four miles. If it was in Florida, like, wow, motorcycle is the best.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Wouldn't it be cool, though, to ride it through, like a blizzard or something?
Sufian
Yeah, yeah. You cannot. You cannot. I'm sorry. Even if you want, you cannot. Like an accident or something gonna happen, you know?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Where, where are you originally from?
Sufian
Morocco.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, cool. How long have you been in New York for?
Sufian
Like, my daddy was here. I grew up in Morocco. Like, I was coming my whole life.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, so you were like half there and half here?
Sufian
No, no, like, all my family live from Morocco. Yeah, but, like, I have a lot of my family right here.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Sufian
When I born right here, my family, they took me back to Morocco.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, okay.
Sufian
So I come back when I take my high school.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So you. I'm sorry, so you're saying that you live here, you live in New York?
Sufian
Yeah, yeah, I do.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And you were. You were born in. Yeah, you were born in New York?
Sufian
Yeah.
Ada
Yeah.
Sufian
Okay. When I take my high school, because I take in Morocco, they take me back to Morocco to study over there.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, so you were born here, but then they took you back to Morocco, and that's where you pretty much grew up, and then you came back here.
Sufian
Correct.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. All right. So how long have you been here? Like when. Like, how soon after school did you come back to New York?
Sufian
So, like four years I'm here, right? Yeah, like four years.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, so you've been here for about four years?
Sufian
Yeah, three or four. I don't remember.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How do you like New York City?
Sufian
New York?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, New York.
Sufian
New York is different about, like, New York in this side and American this side. New York is way different.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Dylan
Yeah.
Sufian
What do you think about that?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, New York is definitely very different from the rest of America. Mainly because, like, you can walk everywhere, you know, and there's like energy and people condensed likeness here in New York.
Sufian
Can you can saw like all the type of people right here? Yeah, yeah, it is.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You know, Is there anything you hate about New York or about America?
Sufian
Something about American night? Hey, give me a second.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm glad it's taking you a long time to think about it.
Sufian
No, no, no, no.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's life like in Morocco?
Sufian
So the only thing that I, like, I don't like about Morocco, and I'm not like, gonna talk specifically about Morocco. I'm gonna talk about so many countries.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Sufian
So when you take like your high school diploma or something like your grade, he gonna control, like, your whole life. I'm not talking, like, about my country. I'm talking about, like, so many countries in Europe too, you know. So your high school, like, your grade, they're gonna tell you, like, if you take this grade, you can. You can do this and this and this and this. So I give you an example. Like, in my high school, I take the bad knob. You know, I take the bad knob. And my dream is towards to become a pilot. And I was studying economy in Morocco when I come here and I go to the college, I keep studying my economy. And after my first semester, I failed and I was working, like, we got a job. You hear me? You hear me, right?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Sufian
I was working a good job. And I was saying why I go to the school, like to the college, and I hate where I study. I just study because, like, to have a lot of money. That's why I was going over there. So I said, why I go over there and I hate where I study. And when I'm gonna go the way, I'm gonna have the same feeling that I have right now in this regular job. So why I'm doing this, I can't, like, go to so many jobs and make the same money that I can make here with the economy. Like just something with your hand, like, you know, just a physics job, you know. So in this moment, like, I take, like a little while and I say, okay, I'm gonna do something I like because I don't like the job, then be sitting and stay in the same place and a lot of things like this. So when I. Because when I was young, I was loving aviation. I love the Planes. That's my weird dream. And I go to Farmingdale, Long Island. You know it?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You go to where?
Sufian
Formingdale.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Formingdale, yeah. Long Island.
Sufian
Yeah. Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Sufian
There's a lot of aviation school over there. And I go and I take Discovery flight, you know? Discovery flight. So when. If you want to become a pilot, you can go, like, to the school, and they're gonna give you to fly with the wheel plane, like, just to let you know the feeling. To let you know if this is for you or not. You know what I mean? So I got to do that. And I talked to the school and I told them, listen, I was studying economy. I don't know if I can do that or not, you know? And they told me, this is America. If you want to do something, you can do it. Just. What? Why? You told me you cannot. I told them that's my grade in high school. It's really, like, really low. I'm really bad. Like, I don't study the physics, like, for more than three years, so maybe I cannot. They said, listen, if. If you want to do something, just show up. If you love this, you're gonna win. That's it. And that's one of the big things they keep in my mind.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Interesting. So you feel like in Morocco, it's like.
Sufian
If you're talking about Morocco, like, in Europe.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Europe. Sure, sure. I get what you mean. So you feel like in a lot of countries outside of America, like, if you get crappy grades in high school, it's like you're a failure forever. There's no way to. You cannot. But you feel like you. You feel like your experience in America is that, like, even if you fucked up in high school or before, you can still redeem yourself and get to do whatever you want. Cool, I like that. How. How long.
Sufian
Like, in Europe, when I was asking how to become a fighter in Europe, that's really hard. You need to have a really high grade, and you need to, like, have a really high grade in the physics and everything, you know? And you study some stuff. You don't know why you're studying there. You know what I mean? Sorry.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Are you getting a call from your friend?
Sufian
No, no, we're good.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. I remember you were waiting for a sec. Where. Do you still have to meet your friend? Your homie?
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Are you. Do you have to go meet your friend, right?
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, well, if you. If you have a second, I am curious, like, how. Where are you at with. Where are you at with your pilot journey? Did you finish? Were you able to Finish school out in Long Island.
Sufian
I start as a private pilot right now.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, you're a private pilot?
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, wow.
Sufian
Like I just saw, you know. Yeah, Like I'm gonna get it like maybe like in two weeks. I'm gonna receive my pilot like this.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How long did it take you from zero from school to becoming a private pilot?
Sufian
It can take you a year. That's not a lot.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Really.
Sufian
Yeah. Because. So to become a pilot. Let's talk about the pilot.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, sure.
Sufian
So there is so many ways. There is not like only one way. You can go to Air Force and after becoming an airline pilot and you can go like there's so many ways. So my way it was like, I'm gonna get licensed by a license, because there's a lot of license you need to get. So what I was doing, like I saved the money for the first license because I was applying for a loan. They don't give it to me. And so I saved the money for the first license and I go to get it and I can stop and save the money for the second one. I go to get it and you go like this. But like, maybe I'm going to get along because I don't want. I want it.
Tomei
I'm sorry.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How's it going, man? Yeah, we're. We're filming a little video. What do you want to be next? I got something. Okay, no worries, no worries. No worries. Yeah, we're doing it. It's Gecko crazy time. Enjoy, Enjoy. Enjoy your evening, man. What were you saying? You. Yeah, sometimes we're doing. It's. It's so. It's very. It's difficult to have a conversation in the wild sometimes, but.
Sufian
Okay.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You were talking about what it takes to become. For you to become a pilot.
Sufian
Exactly.
Tomei
Yeah.
Sufian
There's so many licenses. So that's what I was doing. But like when I'm. I was thinking about it like last week because I need to take a loan because right now I'm sure then this is for me. Yeah, aviation is for me.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Sufian
So why not? I'm sure that I'm gonna like go away and win in this. You know what I mean? So I'm just, you know, waiting because that's really hard to give you a loan. They need to give you like a hundred thousand, so this a little bit hard, but like I'm just gonna like keep. Build some. Some stuff.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So you're waiting to get a loan to keep your school going? Correct, Correct. Oh, okay.
Julio
Okay.
Sufian
This is what I'm waiting for.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So have you so, okay, you're private pilot. So you've been up there in the sky driving the plane before.
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's it feel like to be driving that plane?
Sufian
That's different. There's not a same feeling who. People feel it. It's not the same. It's not the same.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's it feel like for you?
Sufian
I cannot. I don't have the world to say.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Hey, I got a question. I got a question. So do you know what intrusive thoughts are? Was that intrusive thoughts?
Sufian
I don't know. Like.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Like when your brain tries to attack you with, like, crazy. Like, some. Like, sometimes I'll just be walking around and I'll be like, what would happen if I just, like, got naked and, like, started dancing around? Crazy. Or like, I'll be like, at the cliff of some building, and not because I want to kill myself, but I'd be like, you know, oh, what if I just jumped off this building right now? You ever been in the plane? Or, like, I'm like. I'm driving a car and I'm like, oh, I could just swerve into the left leg. Like, I'm not gonna do it, but the thought. You ever been in the plane and you're like, what if I just fucking crush out. Yeah, crash this. Crash this thing. Like, not that you would ever do it, but have you ever been like, oh, it's crazy how. How close my hands are to doing that?
Julio
No.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, good.
Sufian
It's not like that crazy. Good. It's not that crazy.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm glad you've never had that.
Sufian
I never think about this.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
All right, maybe. Maybe it's. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm insane. So what's your. I guess your private pilot is the ultimate goal.
Tomei
To become like.
Sufian
Like, I'm gonna be in private, but
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
you're gonna be a private pilot.
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. Okay.
Sufian
So you're so sure you're gonna. I'm gonna get another license.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. Okay.
Sufian
And all the license.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. So you've been collecting loans or.
Event Promoter
Or you.
Sufian
I'm sorry, you cannot, like, cover everything by your pocket.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Sufian
Like, if you don't have. Because to be honest, my family, they cannot cover everything because, like, the total is gonna take 130. $140,000.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah. Right.
Sufian
You know, so it's really expensive. But, like, in the. What I can give to someone as an advice who want to do this. Yeah, please. In. In the beginning, don't take a loan. Because I. I know so many people, they take a loan in the Beginning and they study the first year. And the first year like cost you like 30,000 or 25, depends which state you are. And you fail the first year, I'm gonna sell. You have $30,000 alone. You never work. You don't have something how to pay. It's gonna be a little bit hard. So like just in your first license, you go to the school and pay it by your pocket, like $15,000. I'm gonna pay it by your pocket. So if you fail, let's say you're just gonna have zero dollar in your account. You don't going to have a loan. And after, if you like pass, you can, in that moment you're going to know then this is for you. So if you take a loan, you know then. Because the hard thing I think about all the license is just the first one. Because the first one you learn how to fly the plane, but after you just like do some edit, you know what I mean?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What would you say is the most difficult part about flying a plane?
Sufian
Flying plane is not hard.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
No, it looks hard. There's so many buttons.
Sufian
It's not hard. No, it's not hard. Like just to. Flying is not hard. Okay. What you need to study is hard. Sitting at home. And you need to start every day so many hours. And you have a lot of things you need to memory in your mind. Yeah. Because one thing that's all about aviation. Like if you want to become a pilot, like if you study, there is not something you're gonna start. Like you're gonna study in today and you're not gonna need it after two or three years. One day something gonna happen about your first day where you study in first day in your first month. So everything is gonna, it needs to be in your mind. You know what I mean?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Not everything that you learn is gonna be applied in the first two years. You might learn something on the first day and then five years later you're like, oh, I got to use that thing I learned on the first day that I learned how to do it
Sufian
actually like so many times. Yeah. You're not, you're not going to say, that's fine, I don't need it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense, I guess.
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Like if you're like a, if you're a heart surgeon, you should know what teeth do, even though you're not operating on teeth all the time. Maybe you, you know, are doing heart surgery one time and then like a teeth thing happens and you're like, oh, I'm glad I learned about teeth, you know, I mean, I guess that's how school works. We learn all these, like, general things and then we go into our specifics.
Sufian
Yep.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm glad to know that flying a plane is not that hard because I do have a thing where I'm like, I feel like I could do it now. You can, but I would have to know how to do it. But I would have to. I would have to. I'm not. It's.
Tomei
Wouldn't.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You shouldn't give me a pilot license. But I could, theoretically, if I had to fly a plane is what is the takeaway that I'm getting from this conversation.
Sufian
So you want to try this feeling? You want to know this feeling? You want to know it?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Sufian
So you can go to the school.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. Well, wait, I thought.
Sufian
Not like you can. Did it for fun.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Sufian
You can't do it for fun. You can go to the school.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, you can just. They'll just let you around on a jet for fun.
Sufian
You can go with instructor. Oh, okay. And he can I go with you? And he can I give you the plane. They're going to give you all the control.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Really?
Sufian
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's that easy. They don't do a background check. That instructor is taking a leap of faith, isn't it? Because he could just be bringing some crazy.
Sufian
No.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Into the plane to. You know, it's not going to let the intrusive thoughts win.
Sufian
He's just going to give it like, try the feeling to turn the plane left or right. Take it up. You know, if you want to take off. Not a landing. London is a little bit hard. Maybe.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your name again? Suvian. Yeah, Suvien. I'll let you go hang out with your friend, man. I appreciate you giving me your time and telling us your story. Is there anything you want to say to the people of the computer before we go?
Sufian
I think he's a good guy.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, thanks.
Sufian
That's my first time that I know you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Thanks, man. I don't know you either, but I think you're a good guy. And one day I hope you know I'm on American Airlines.
Sufian
Can I ask a question?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, you can ask me whatever you want.
Sufian
This quiet. I love to ask people this question. Yeah, give me the answer.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
No, I'll try my best.
Sufian
What's your dream?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's my dream? Yeah, what's my dream?
Sufian
A lot. Give me three.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
My. My dream is to. I don't know, maybe to fall madly in love and have a family and be. Get the high score on Pac Man. At my local arcade and packed, man. Yeah, something like that. You know, I've been lucky. I've been. I've been able to achieve many of my dreams. So, you know, I. Actually, my ultimate dream is to live a happy, healthy life to the age of 80 years old. I'd like to make it to 80, you know? Say again?
Sufian
I 60, not 80.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You're like, you think you'll make it the high 60s?
Sufian
Yeah, I told you, make it a 60, not 80.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, you're telling me I'll make it the 60s. Really?
Tony Ayo
What?
Sufian
That's a lot.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Ah, maybe. Maybe that would be funny if, like. Yeah, I don't know. Sometimes I'm like, yeah, seven 80s. A lot. That's a lot. High 60s could be. That could be a good way to play. Just to call it.
Sufian
There is some people, they can not even walk at 80. So what are you gonna do, 80?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your ultimate dream? Is it, I guess it's to become a pilot.
Sufian
My dream. I have a lot of things, but I have love. I cannot give you one, too, but I. I can't give you, like, how I want my life.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, go ahead.
Sufian
So when I finish my education and I just. I'm working on a business, I want to open, like, my business, like, as a store and everything. I'm working on it, like, as a store, and I'm not leaving, like, Florida and have my own house and. Because I think if you have, like, you had the money, like, to have a lot of things, you can, like, buy a Jet Ski, have your house and everything and just chill out.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, Jet Ski sounds cool.
Sufian
You work in aviation, you come back at home and chill out, and my parents to stay with me. That's it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That sounds like a nice life. I think you can make it. Yo, I kind of look like the guy on that kid's shirt. He ran away. But I look exactly like the guy on that kid's shirt. Okay, he ran away. I'm sorry for pointing it out, but that sounds like a nice life.
Sufian
Yeah, that's what I want.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I hope one day I'm on, like, American Airlines once and you're my pilot, and I can look at you and be like. And you can look at me and be like, maybe. And then maybe. Maybe you'll let me in the cockpit. Maybe I can fly the plane a little bit.
Sufian
Whoa. Imagine that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice to meet you, man. I'll let you get out of here. Thank you, brother. Good luck with all your hopes and

Alyssa
Mom, are we there yet?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
10 more minutes.
Alyssa
Only 10 minutes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Can you drive slower? What's up with them today?
Tomei
Lingokids, that app we downloaded last week.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
They love it. The games, this funny baby bot character. Kids, we're almost there.
Lady Liberty
No.
Tomei
With more than 4,000 interactive games, songs and shows little ones can't get enough
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
of, Lingokids is the number one entertainment platform for young kids. Why didn't we download this sooner? Lingokids, everything kids love, download it for free. Okay, welcome back, folks, to the Therapy Gecko podcast. There has been a development. There has been an update. You will notice I am no longer in front of the McDonald's because I got kicked out of. In front of the McDonald's. Some places. I actually just found this out today. Some places it is not legal to stand there and try to get people to talk to you as a lizard. But that's okay. I went to the park. I moved, and I found out I had no idea this was going on. There is. There's a pride parade happening in the park. So the second half of this episode will be talking to people as a gecko in the park at this pride parade. There's a great energy going on. Somebody's climb. People are climbing up lamp posts. People are walking around without shirts. There's. There's.
Sufian
There's a.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
An energy of. Of glee. Like, you know how, like, gay also means, like, happy, expressive, like, it's a lot of. It's very gay in. In that sense. So this is. This is being a gecko again. This is being a gecko in the park where there's a pride parade happening because I got kicked out of. In front of the McDonald's. Hello. What's your name?
Tomei
My name's Tomei. Howdy, Mr. Gekko.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
To me. What's going on? How's life? It's okay.
Tomei
I can't complain.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Would anything make it better?
Tomei
The need to not need money.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
The need. You mean relinquish it? You mean the not needing money?
Tomei
Yes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Tomei
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I mean, you could. Here's the thing. You could live at this park, but that's not. It probably wouldn't be that fun.
Tomei
I was living in my car up until about a week or two ago. I just got an apartment.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Congrats.
Tomei
It's nice to have an apartment, but, like, do I enjoy spending the money on it? That's debatable.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Is spending the money on the apartment worth not living in the car?
Tomei
Yes. I only pay 1100 in rent because I live in, like, a closet in the Bronx.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Tomei
And it's nice.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's a good deal.
Tomei
I like the closet. It's not a bad closet. I find that for eleven hundred dollars. I don't mind it. I got my own room. I got my bathroom.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Nice.
Tomei
That's chill.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Nice.
Tomei
Did it. Do I want to pay more for a nicer place? I have a nice car.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What kind of car you got?
Tomei
I got a Mustang. It's a tuned one.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Living in the Mustang. Not that bad.
Tomei
It's not. I mean, honestly, I've lived in two. This is a 2003 Mustang. I tore out a bunch of parts and put in new parts, so it barely runs. But it's fun. And when people see it, I'll be, like, laying there, and they'll be like, yo, that car is cool. Wait, is there a person in that car? But the first thing I catch on to is that car's Cool. And I'm like, that's cool as fuck.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's cool. Because you. I guess when you live in your car, it's like, well, when you're driving a car or you're in a car, like, you almost. The car becomes an extension of you.
Tomei
Exactly.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So that when they're saying that the car is cool, they're also saying that you're cool, too.
Tomei
Exactly. They're like, that homeless tranny is very cool. And I'm like, yes, thank you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How long were you living in the car for?
Tomei
I think I was living in it for a year.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Tomei
Yeah. My grandpa died, and I was like, I don't want to be at home. And so I left. And, I mean, I found that life was okay. I did everything that I would do in a house, just in a car.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's cool.
Tomei
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Did you have, like. Did you finagle. Did you, like, MacGyver yourself, utilities and things like that, like, with a hot plate and whatnot?
Tomei
I. I had a. A jackery. And what I would do is I would just take the jackery and say I had, like, a computer if I. I had a torch. So I would just put water in a can and then heat up the can and then just pour it in the ramen, because I would use that same torch to work on my car. So I was like, two birds with one stone, you know? But same thing with, like, the batteries, really. I would just hang out at the library, and then I'd be like. And then I'd just go back to my car and sleep.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What kind of ramen were you. Were you eating? Are you chicken, beef, or shrimp? What's your.
Tomei
I like to mix it up. Okay. I like to mix it up. I always try to get, like, Vienna sausages or something like that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That sounds nice. Oh, yeah.
Tomei
I'll just put it in there. It's nice.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Do you think. Okay. Now that you have the apartment, are you like, we're never going back to the car, or are you like. I could see myself going back to the car.
Tomei
Well, I think logistically, we always have to accept that the car is the last. Last available option. Okay, but do I want to go
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
back to the car now?
Tomei
I mean, I'm no nomad. I live here, so I'm good on driving, so.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, so you're not like, one of those, like. Okay. You're not like, van life in the Mustang?
Tomei
I mean, I did it at one point, but that was only to get from, like, point A to point B. Yeah. You know, because I Don't like planes. I had planes scare the shit out of me. So I was like, I will drive from here to here. It took, like, seven days.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Why did. Why do planes scare you?
Tomei
Heights, you know?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Like, I. I've actually was looking into this recently. So, I mean, you know this, right? Like, the possibility of dying in a car, like, so much higher. So much higher than a plane.
Tomei
Yes. But here's the funny part. So I drift cars, right?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Drift cars?
Alyssa
Yeah.
Tomei
Like Tokyo.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You're crazy.
Tomei
I love it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's people who do that are, like, crazy to me. Oh.
Tomei
I mean, I. I'm. I mean, granted, I had a. I broke my foot.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, you got a broken foot?
Tomei
I got hit by a car, and then I decided to go in a mosh pit, and then I broke my arm, and then I went back in the mosh pit. But, like, at the end of the day, life's gonna go on with or without you. So if you get hurt or not, that doesn't matter.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But my life won't go on without me. That's if you die. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tomei
Don't die.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's a good point. Yeah, you got me there.
Dylan
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your name again?
Tomei
Tomei.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your ultimate dream in life, Tomei?
Tomei
I want to marry Florence Pugh.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Mary Florence Peel?
Tomei
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Who's that?
Tomei
She's that lady for the. The new Black Widow.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, yeah. Have you reached out to her at all?
Tomei
No, I feel like that'd be weird. You know, I just. All I got to do is become super cool.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
To me, you. You're. The time is a wasting. You gotta. You gotta send her an email or something.
Tomei
Like, if I just become super cool, and she's like, wait, that lesbian's kind of hot. Then I got my. I'm good.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Did you come to this walk by yourself? Did you come with homies?
Tomei
I came by myself.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Do you meet people?
Julio
No.
Tomei
I mean, granted, it's hard to meet people when you're older, but at the same time, it's up to you to go out to places like this and just start talking to people.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Tomei
So that way you can make friends.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Totally. Totally. This feels like a good place to meet friends. Seems a very inviting location.
Tomei
I. I work up the street over here. People are much kind up here.
Dylan
They.
Tomei
I'm from, like, Washington, so we're very overly kind. Like, they're okay with it here.
Sufian
They.
Tomei
They see me and they're like, oh, this lady seems chipper, you know? And then we'll just talk for a few minutes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You Have a very chill vibe. You seem like you. This is just an impression that I have from talking to you for two seconds, but you seem rather unbothered. I don't know if that's true, but that's the vibe.
Tomei
Yes and no.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm gonna have it. You have a. You have a bit of a stoic demeanor.
Tomei
Life hurts.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Tomei
But if you sit there and get butt hurt by that pain, then, like, it's just gonna kick your ass all day.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I like it. To me.
Tomei
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You can't get butt hurt.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's what we've learned.
Tomei
Is there anything you want to say before I go?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Your name is. It's like Marissa Tomei. You know her?
Tomei
It is. Yes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's who I want to marry. That is a good. I'll tell you what. We'll make a truce. We'll make a deal. I'll send Marisa Tomei an email, and you send that. That lady Florence.
Tomei
I will.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
An email.
Tomei
I will do that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And we'll see if our. We'll see if our emails get there.
Tomei
I will do that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Thank you for talking to a gecko.
Tomei
To thank you for having me. And I'm not going to lie to you until I've seen your videos 100 times. I thought you were a frog this whole time.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, that's okay. Most people think I'm a frog. More people probably think I'm a frog than think I'm a gecko.
Tomei
I'm not going to lie. I'm just focused on you talking, and I'm like, this guy has some really good points.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, thank you.
Tomei
Of course.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Thank you very much to me.
Tomei
You have a good one.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You too. I like Tome. Tomah was cool. You have. She has dinosaur shoes. I like her more now. What's your name?
Dylan
My name is Dylan. What's your name?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
My name is Lyle. Nice to meet you, Dylan.
Dylan
Lovely to meet you. Lyle the gecko.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How's. How's. What's your name?
Ada
I'm Ava.
Dylan
I'm Dylan.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And you're Ava.
Ada
Abba.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Ada.
Dylan
Ada.
Tony Ayo
Ada.
Ada
Fairy and Spanish.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, cool. Do you. Do you feel. What made you. What made you want to be a fairy?
Ada
It was my AA's name. They named me after her. But I think my namesake really. It. It. It comes through.
Dylan
It continues.
Lady Liberty
Do.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Do you feel fairy? Like.
Ada
I really do in every sense of the word. Even the slur.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What does it feel like to feel like a fairy?
Ada
I'm whimsical. I'm free. I explore the world.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Cool.
Ada
And I connect with others.
Tomei
Cool.
Dylan
What made you, like, were you born a gecko, would you say? Or did you sort of become a gecko more?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I feel like I became. I feel like the gecko chose me. It is weird. I do think I'm like, oh, it's a weird. It's so, like, just part of my life now that I forget about it for you. Say that again.
Ada
When was that born for you?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
About six years ago.
Dylan
Six years ago?
Lady Liberty
What?
Ada
Yeah.
Dylan
Where did it come from? Like, what, six years ago? Happens where you were like, it is time.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I made a YouTube video about a guy who collects pet lizards to have sex with them. And then a lizard. And then I played a lizard in the video who escapes from the guy. And then. And that's the reason I had the costume. I'm sorry.
Julio
That.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's the truth.
Ada
And then you were like, I need to do something with this.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, then I had the costume and I was like, oh, I should keep doing stuff with the costume. So it's not a bit. That is the real story. I wish it was a different story, but that's the real. That's the truth.
Ada
What was the first thing that you were like, I need to do this with the gecko costume.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What was the first thing that I was like, I need to do this with the gecko.
Dylan
What was the first step?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Just. Just walking around.
Ada
Okay. Being perceived.
Dylan
Do you walk. Do you try to emulate a gecko when you're walking or, like, what is
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
your vibe a little bit? You know, geckos, they're. They're stoic creatures. They. They slither around. I like to slither around. You know? How do you two know each other?
Dylan
We're friends of. Friends of friends.
Ada
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, cool.
Tony Ayo
We're.
Ada
We're step friends.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, cool. I've never heard that before, but that makes sense.
Dylan
Yeah, but we care for each other.
Ada
We do.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Is it just you two here or is there a whole group that you guys are part of?
Dylan
Posse. But Posse is sort of not interested in the gecko reality.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm okay with that.
Ada
Johnson.
Dylan
The G. You can tell.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Sure, sure, sure. What. So what's. What's the plan after. Is there crazy after parties? Is there.
Ada
Eat food.
Dylan
Eat food.
Alyssa
I think.
Dylan
I think we need to go nourish ourselves because otherwise, how am I going to sort of find something to subsist off of for my sort of hedonic activities later in the night?
Ada
Sun today. So we couldn't photosynthesize.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So we find some. Oh, yeah, it was raining today.
Dylan
It was. It was. It Was.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Did that. Did that. Did that impede upon the. The march?
Dylan
No, never.
Ada
Dykes are, you know, cannot be stopped.
Dylan
They, you know, they sort of like, we persevere sort of regardless of what's going on.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Sure. In the.
Dylan
In the stratosphere, we continue. If any. If anything, the rain in some ways sort of propels us, cools us down. I feel like you would get it as a gecko.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
No, I'm. I'm. You guys are making me feel like. Like. Like I kill. I couldn't. I. I had to pack up early. I was doing this earlier and I had to pack up because it was raining. So, you know, I'm inspired by you guys for sticking it out with the rain.
Dylan
I feel like you should probably figure out how to waterproof your equipment just to be a little bit more authentic.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, it's like to the experience of a lizard.
Dylan
Yes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What, do you guys live in New York City?
Dylan
Yes, I live in Washington Heights.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, cool. How do you like living in New York City?
Dylan
I love it. I've been here for, like, over six years. I'm a big fan.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What is your favorite thing about New York City?
Dylan
That's a great question. I'm a Trader Joe's employee, and that's pretty fun.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You work at the Trader Joe's?
Dylan
Yes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Talk about burying the lead. I have way more questions now. Okay. The demographic of Trader Joe's. Are people.
Tony Ayo
Have you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How often are you getting yelled at?
Dylan
Frequently.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Frequently? Yes, frequently. Are they dicks or most people?
Sufian
Cool.
Dylan
No, most people are a dick. Some people are dicks.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Some people are. Really?
Dylan
Yes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That makes me sad to hear.
Dylan
Yeah. I'm sorry. That's the truth.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What?
Ada
Like, you can always rely on. Everyone at Trader Joe's is gonna be sexy.
Dylan
That is true. Even if the dicks are sexy.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. That's why they're dicks then. That makes sense.
Dylan
I mean. Yeah. You know, dicks are frequently sexy. That's like, part of the bit.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So interesting.
Dylan
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What. What is. What was the last time you had, like, a Karen y encounter at the train?
Dylan
I had a grown man throw a temper tantrum while waiting for the bathroom for three minutes. He kicked the door and then yelled, what are you taking a fucking shower in there? And then I walked over and I was like, sir, you're in a grocery store right now.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Damn.
Dylan
This was a grown man, probably about my father's age.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I didn't know that they. They have bathrooms at the Trader Joe's.
Alyssa
We do.
Dylan
We have two customer bathrooms. They're gender neutral, single Stall.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Hey, I got a question. This is actually really important.
Dylan
For sure.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Like, six years ago.
Dylan
Absolutely.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I was at my dad's house, and he had this container of Trader Joe's melted milk balls.
Dylan
Yes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And for the past six years, every time I see a Trader Joe's, I stop and I'm like, I got to go in there and see if I can find these malted milk balls.
Dylan
No, they're. They're out of stock.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Every time I go in there, I ask the person, I'm gonna. I'm like, one of those people who's, like, an ass. I'm. I've been throwing tantrums and Trader Joe's across the country, being like, I thought you guys had malted milk bowls.
Dylan
Here's what you have to understand about Trader Joe's.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Please tell me.
Dylan
There's a vortex that sort of happens when you enter the store. You are not in charge of your own destiny.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, my God.
Dylan
We are not in charge of your destiny. We're not. I don't know what's going on. I don't know what's going to be ordered. I don't know what's going to be ordered. I don't know what has been ordered. I don't know what will be ordered. Please don't ask me. I don't know. If you love something that has been there, it's probably not going to be there again just because you. That's why. That's the whole point.
Ada
That's really a lesson in life, truly.
Dylan
Yeah.
Ada
Like, that's just a metaphor for life, I think.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's the balls.
Dylan
But, like, sort of, you know, pack it up and move on. Find something else.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I can't. I'm so emotion. I'm very emotionally attached to the multiple force clusters.
Ada
Have you considered the. The, like, chocolate clusters that have the chips and pretzels in them? Those are crazy.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, here's what I did. They didn't have the malted milk balls, so I got toffee chips.
Ada
Okay.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Dipped in chocolate.
Ada
What are those?
Dylan
Like, those are good. Like the milk and the dark.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, the milk in the dark.
Dylan
Yeah, those are really good.
Ada
I like the chocolate covered corn.
Dylan
So do they have a gecko discount at Trader Joe's?
Event Promoter
No.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Usually. Usually I walk in there just like, as a. Just some guy.
Dylan
As a civilian.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, thanks, man. What? So, wait, your real name? Oh, they said Geck.
Alyssa
Geck.
Ada
Oh, I heard.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Wait, you were about to tell us why? This is a metaphor for life. Ada, can you bring it home? I don't know, bro.
Ada
No, Sammy.
Sufian
Huh?
Ada
I was locked in on whatever was going on there.
Dylan
We don't know.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's okay. You don't need to know. And that is the true metaphor for
Ada
life, and that's life. You know, you're always searching for the answer, and there's beauty in that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Is there anything else you guys want to say to the people of the computer before we go?
Ada
Thank you for tuning in. Be curious, be whimsical, be kind.
Dylan
Go look up a video of leopard slugs having sex on YouTube.
Ada
I saw that for the first time.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Leopard slugs.
Ada
Crazy.
Dylan
Leopard sucks. Having sex on YouTube. It'll break your brain open.
Ada
They have iridescent peni. Iridescent.
Dylan
They do. And I think that this pride Week, that's just really something that I keep in my brain.
Ada
They're very gender fluid.
Dylan
They are very gender fluid.
Ada
Very intersex.
Dylan
We should all be more like slugs. Go sword fight with your best friend who has an iridescent penis. Figure it out.
Ada
Queer. Homoerotic.
Dylan
Who maybe have homoerotic friends. French friends. French with. Yes, for sure. That's all we have to say.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Thank you guys. I'll see you guys around the universe. Thank you very much for stopping to talk to a gecko. Iridescent. So wait, what's the. What type of slug is it again? A tiger slug. Oh,
Dylan
right there.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Look that up.
Sufian
Cool.
Lady Liberty
They take a screenshot, baby.
Alyssa
It'll teach you something.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Tiger slugs. I'm gonna look up them having sex.

Alyssa
Mom, are we there yet?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
10 more minutes.
Alyssa
Only 10 minutes.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Can you drive slower? What's up with them today? Lingokids, that app we downloaded last week.
Lady Liberty
They love it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
The games, this funny baby bot character. Kids, we're almost there.
Lady Liberty
No.
Tomei
With more than 4,000 interactive games, songs and shows little ones can't get enough of.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Lingokids is the number one entertainment platform for young kids. Why didn't we download this sooner? Everything kids love, download it for free. Hello. What's your name?
Alyssa
My name is Alyssa.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Alyssa. Have a seat. Oh, are you wet?
Lady Liberty
I don't know. Am I wet on my butt?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'll have a seat. Who cares? We'll figure it out. It's all right.
Alyssa
I'm sorry.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You jumped in the fountain.
Alyssa
I jumped in the fountain.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How was that?
Alyssa
It was. It was empowering in a way. It was really good. It was really fun.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What? How was your walk experience?
Alyssa
My walk? Yeah, it was good. It was. It's great.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Did you learn anything? Did you have any epiphanies? Yeah, the.
Sufian
Yeah, I don't want.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I can't say the name of it.
Alyssa
Oh, I'll give you a pass.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I don't. But isn't like I like. Do you say D word? What? Do you say the D word Walk.
Alyssa
Wait, am I limited? Can I not. Can I not say it, too?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, you can. I don't. I. I don't. I don't know. I mean, you can say whatever you want.
Alyssa
Ethically, I can. But can I On there.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, restrictions.
Alyssa
You could bleep it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I will whatever.
Alyssa
Say dyke if you want. Between you and I.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. You know what? I thank you for saying that to me.
Alyssa
You're welcome.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But.
Dylan
You're welcome.
Alyssa
You could say just like the D march. Although then it's talking about.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Then it's. Yeah, if I say the D march, it sounds more phallic.
Alyssa
Yeah, it does.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Alyssa
Maybe like hot Lesbian march is fine.
Tomei
Hot.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Lesbian march. That's fun. I like that, but.
Dylan
Yeah.
Alyssa
How. How have you been? How have you been here?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I've been good. It's a little hot. It's very. It feels like a music festival out here.
Alyssa
Yeah, it's really.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's very, like, music festival vibes.
Alyssa
Yeah, the vibes are great. The vibes are great.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What.
Julio
What made you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What inspired you to come down here today?
Alyssa
Being a dyke.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. You know, how's that been for you?
Alyssa
Really good.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah?
Alyssa
Tell me more than I would think.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Tell me more.
Alyssa
The only. The only downside is not being able to make a child between you and your girlfriend.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, sure.
Alyssa
That one. Really. Sorry, I'm really throwing it at you, but. No, that. That really gets to me sometimes. Like, I want it to be biologically half mine, half hers, but we can't do that. But then is that superficial?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But can you. So, okay, so you have a girlfriend.
Alyssa
I do.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And are you guys trying to have a kid?
Alyssa
No, but we will one day. We're engaged.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And so is the idea that, like. Okay, so you're gonna get, like, a sperm donor. Yeah, but he can only. He can only sperm himself into one of your guys's eggs.
Alyssa
See, that's also the problem.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Whose egg does he sperm himself into?
Alyssa
Whose egg? That's the debate. We've been going back and forth. Although we're thinking about putting her eggs into my uterus and have the sperm donor disseminate that.
Lady Liberty
I know.
Alyssa
It's called reciprocal ivf. You can do anything.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Wait, that. Hold on. But that. But that feels like. Isn't that kind of a waste of day? Because if the baby comes out, why would you take someone else's eggs and put them in your vagina if just.
Alyssa
I have perfectly good eggs.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, if you have perfectly good eggs or if they have perfectly good.
Alyssa
Yeah. So then it's like I'm her surrogate.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Alyssa
We both are connected to the baby.
Tomei
Oh.
Alyssa
Biologically. In a way. It's like. It's like trying to, like, cheat the sister system.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Ah, interesting.
Alyssa
Some argue it's playing God. I don't.
Tomei
Okay.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Play God. Who cares?
Alyssa
Yeah. Hey, thanks, by the way.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I mean, listen, you're. We're all. If we're all. We're like the universe and. Right. We are all individually God. So, you know, play God, be yourself.
Alyssa
Thank you. Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You know, it's, in a way, taking. Taking your hand and doing. This is playing God. You know, who cares?
Alyssa
Exactly. You get it, Gecko. Damn.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Interesting. Have you have you discussed whose egg is going and whose vagina and stuff like that.
Alyssa
Yeah. Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So where are we at?
Alyssa
We're thinking me. She's old. She's really old. She's a cougar.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So how old is old?
Alyssa
She's 29.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
How old are you?
Alyssa
I'm 26.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Alyssa
I'm young and free.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Alyssa
No, actually, I am stressed about, like, aging.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, really?
Alyssa
But yeah, so I'll carry the egg.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Why are you stressed about aging?
Alyssa
I don't know. So, like, I make. I make music. I'm sure you'll run into a lot of those here. You're in, you know?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, I know. Every time I film an episode here at the park, we get someone who's is like a SoundCloud.
Lady Liberty
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Guy.
Alyssa
Yeah, I'm SoundCloud. Rapper. 26, Geriatric. In the entertainment biz. Do I call it quits? Am I embarrassing myself? Like, how old are you in gecko years?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I am. I am 28 years old in gecko years years. And gecko years I gotta be. You know, it's. I don't know much about geckos at all, really. So when people want to, like, talk about, like, when people want to talk about, like, gecko stuff, I don't. I don't even know what to say.
Alyssa
Yeah, that's fine. I respect that. But, yeah, I feel like maybe in the gecko community it's different, but in the entertainment biz, it feels like a humiliation ritual to be 26 and like on Tick Tock, like, listen to this song I wrote. You know what I mean?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I mean, I don't. Here's the thing. Whatever. Being on TikTok is a humiliation ritual no matter what age you are. So I don't think that. Also, it's not really a humiliation ritual. I mean, everyone. I don't know. TikTok is fine. People. People attach too much stuff to stuff. Oh, this is a humiliation ritual. Oh, I'm Unknow this. Oh, that. Nothing's anything. None of it matter. Just do a thing. Just do things. Make stuff or don't. Who cares?
Alyssa
Very anarchist.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
There's a lot of police officers around here. I feel like I'm. Has anyone got. Have you seen anyone get arrested or get a fight or something?
Alyssa
I saw them shining a flashlight into the woods over there. They might be hunting.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I bet some interesting things are happening in the woods right now.
Alyssa
Yeah, they might be looking for me.
Dylan
Not sure.
Alyssa
Yeah.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So what are you gonna name the kid?
Alyssa
Probably Lyle.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, cool. Yeah, let me know. Let me know if you do that. Yeah, I'll. I'll send you a. A sticker.
Lady Liberty
Awesome.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah. If you name your. If you name your kid after me, you get therapy. Gecko merch. I'm on the record.
Alyssa
That's awesome. Middle names count. Or do we have to commit full?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
If you name. If you actually name your kid your middle name. If you gave them the middle name, Lyle, you can have a sticker.
Alyssa
Sick. It was great talking to you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's good talking to you too. Is there anything else you want to say to the people of the computer before we go?
Alyssa
If you are unk. If you are chopped. Keep making art, bro. Life is too short. What are you in gecko years? Probably like two. Get with it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your name again?
Alyssa
Alyssa.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Alyssa. Nice to meet you, Alyssa. Thank you for talking to a gecko.
Alyssa
Thank you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
What's your name?
Lady Liberty
Lady Liberty. Lady Liberty, remove the Y at the
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
end and put an I. Oh, Lady Liberty. With both. Both lady and Liberty, you remove the Y at the end, right?
Lady Liberty
With an I.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay. And how's life going, Lady Liberty?
Lady Liberty
Oh, life is stupendous for me. Why I am finally in that place in the middle passage. I am right there in the middle passage. We are all in the middle passage. But it's to know that you are there.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Please tell me more about the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
Okay. The middle passage is how it all be. I'm an artist. And how it began. I was reflecting on my own journey and I sketch it on a piece of paper. And the middle passage is that the way we exist. We exist in a cross with boundaries. All the free that is given to us. Like you. It's free for me to sit and speak to you. It's no problem, no issues. But there are boundaries in it. Say a boundaries like, oh, you cannot do this or you cannot do that. But in our life there are boundaries. There are things you cannot go beyond. Like some people do not. They will tell you the world was. I was in seven days and there is a God. And there is that.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
They.
Lady Liberty
They don't know it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, but they. But they have set those boundaries for themselves.
Lady Liberty
They said it. That is the systematic boundary for themselves.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yes. So the middle passage is where those boundaries no longer exist.
Lady Liberty
No, the boundaries are there. The middle passage is where we. Is where everything goes like this. Like all the whole system, the world wide web we enter into when we delivered. Wherever we are delivered, we are delivered. In the middle passage.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
When we are delivered. Where we are delivered. We are delivered in the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
This is it. This is where we say is the middle.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So wait, okay, so you have. You have always been in the middle passage, but you are. It's a recent development that you have come to understand that you were in the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
I'm comprehending what it is. Okay, so higher intelligence bring you there.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So am I. Am I in the middle passage?
Lady Liberty
You are in the middle passage.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm in the middle passage. But I'm not. I haven't fully ascertained the fact that I'm in the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
Well, it is again, there are boundaries. The boundaries is that it will take you there. You on your own cannot take you there. But the signs that can tell you the way you will go is your experiences.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
The middle passage itself will tell me when I am in the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
No, you are in the middle passage. You are in the midst of the world. This is what's given us. And we are all. Is. All of this is the middle.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
So what's on the ends? What's on the top and the bottom and the left and the right?
Lady Liberty
Okay, north, south, east, west. Yeah, that's it. Yeah, it's across.
Sufian
Okay, wait.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, I have more questions. So if we're in the middle passage and the middle passage is between all the boundaries, what happens when we go past the boundaries?
Lady Liberty
You cannot pass the boundaries on your own. Not even. For example, people say that they went to the moon.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Lady Liberty
That's impossible.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I believe they went to the moon.
Lady Liberty
Oh, that's you. That is you. But I'll tell you. Sure, but I'll tell you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Go ahead.
Lady Liberty
That's impossible. For these are boundaries only it can take you there. And if you cannot. If you do not even know that you are in the middle passage. And you can. You have higher intelligence. You have common intelligence that you can build this and build that and build the other and tell yourself while you're in the middle passage, and you think that you are. You are. You are up, right?
Dylan
Yeah.
Lady Liberty
You think that's a sky? Yeah, that's not a sky. This is water surrounding you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But. But that's okay, but. So. So you don't think. Do you think there is a moon?
Lady Liberty
There is. You don't have. You don't need to think that there is a moon. There is a sun.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But you believe. We did not. That nobody has ever been on the moon.
Lady Liberty
You cannot be on the moon.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Why can't.
Alyssa
Wait.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Hold on, hold on. They did it. But they did a whole. They did a whole thing for years and Years trying to figure out how to be on the moon. It's pretty crazy, I'll give you that. But they figured out how to do it. They sent a guy. They sent two guys. I think they. How many guys they sent to the moon? They sent more. They sent two.
Lady Liberty
I know, I know. You don't even need to. I know. The thing about it is that you came into this, you came in, we all came in, into a cult. And they tell you, at a certain age, you do this. At a certain age you do this.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Ah, I see what you're saying.
Lady Liberty
You do this and you do that and do all of these things.
Tomei
Yes.
Lady Liberty
They tell you that there is a God. They tell you in God there are free persons and the only persons that can help you is Jesus. I can take you there. But when, when the.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But Jesus didn't take those guys to the moon. They went to the moon with like,
Lady Liberty
rocket shit man in himself. Yeah, we exist in chaos.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I agree with that.
Lady Liberty
We exist in chaos. And to. To get out of chaos, then you're going to get order. And it is a lifetime since I know me. I am going through learning, okay? Until now I'm doing this series, the middle Passage across. And we are in the middle with boundaries. And we are Generation X. You don't need to tattoo yourself. You're already branded with an X in you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Let me ask you one last thing, Lady Liberty.
Lady Liberty
Don't ask me a last but just say, let me ask you one more thing.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'll ask you one more thing. You can ask me one more thing. If you could go to the moon, would you do it? It seems nice.
Lady Liberty
What is the big deal in going to the moon for? The moon is like me and the moon is like you. What? It's not a big deal. We are all natural resources.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's true. Damn. Being, being here, being at the Home Depot, being at the supermarket, being at the moon, they're all the same thing. Because they're all the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
They are all in this middle part, but they are not all the same thing for me and you is in the middle passage. But my level of my perspective on this journey is different to your perspective on this journey.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That's true as well. What was the question you wanted to ask me later?
Lady Liberty
I'm not going to question you. What am I going to question you?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I thought you said you had a question for me.
Lady Liberty
No, I say change it. Change your conversation around and tell me no last. There is nothing last. So you said one last question. So I told you to Only say. You can say there is one more question or something like this for the thing about it again, the world. We are in a. We are. We are in a riddle.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
We are in a riddle.
Lady Liberty
Right?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay.
Lady Liberty
The secret of life is to unriddle the riddle.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yes.
Lady Liberty
We exist in a world wide web. That tell you this. That tell you that. But didn't you see when COVID 19 came in? Not even those that were the highest in the highest throne knew anything about it. They were afraid, just like you. They couldn't answer. Why didn't they tell you something?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
They were busy hanging out on the moon.
Lady Liberty
Because where is the moon?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Not in the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
It is in the middle passage.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I feel like if I.
Tomei
If you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I feel like I'm gonna fail whatever exam you're about to give me on the middle passage.
Lady Liberty
We exist in the opposite. For you look at this as up.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Where's the moon? I'm trying to.
Lady Liberty
No, you look at it as up, but it is down.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, fuck.
Lady Liberty
Okay. You look, they tell you this is the sky and you're going to go to your grave. It is the sky.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Lady Liberty
You're going to reincarnate and return as it's the sky.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
But that could see. But that could be the ground for all we know.
Lady Liberty
This is water. Water comes into different, different denses. This is water. So it comes from the bottom?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah.
Lady Liberty
And it goes up like where you think your voice came from.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I think my voice. There's like sound waves. Right?
Lady Liberty
Okay, yes. I like.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And it comes from like my diaphragm and stuff.
Lady Liberty
Where is it originated from?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Crap. Something with something in my throat.
Lady Liberty
In the bottom. Everything is in the bottom going up.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Okay, so there's a thing. But. But how do you know that's the bottom? That could be the top. I thought you just said that the top could be the bottom. The bottom could be the top.
Lady Liberty
So the thing about it, the way you exist, it's like a. Okay, you see this tree?
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm looking at the tree.
Lady Liberty
Brain is the roots and it's going up. We. We. We supposed to be like this. Or we are. But the scientific. The biological structure and the science notion done with us to put us like who we is. That's the way we see it.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
We were supposed to be the tree, but then we evolved. We kept evolving.
Lady Liberty
We're not supposed.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
And now. Now we're now our material. Now we can have. We have sentience.
Lady Liberty
I am. I'm not talking for those that don't. I am a tree. I am a tree. I Am tree. I am free. And I am. I am. You see, they tell you, they confuse
Tomei
you
Lady Liberty
in the doctrines. They are free persons. The free persons they talk about is you. And riddle. The riddle. I already tell you this. In you as a male, you are male. But in you there are two females in you. So if you feel female ish, that doesn't mean you are gay or nothing like this. This is what it is. And there is no such thing as gay or this, that, that, that it is. Introverts.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Thank you very much for talking to a gecko, Lady Liberty. I appreciate your time. Is there anything. Is there any final thing you want to say to the people at the computer? Lady Liberty.
Lady Liberty
Okay, what will I say to the people? The secret to this life is unriddling the riddle. We are entangled in a riddle. You know, the WWW they tell you about it is stolen. And it is a metaphor. It's metaphoric. It is the world wide web. That world wide web is not easy to break. For the language we speak is a language of mass destruction. You use the word have you use the word acknowledge. You use the acknowledge. You acknowledge like you know, but it's another person that tell you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Oh, you use the word acknowledges to act like you know.
Lady Liberty
Right? Wisdom is two words. It's either you're wise or you're dumb. So you are fool to think you are. You are. You are dumb to think you're wise or you, you are wise. You break it down. It's wise and. And. And dumb. Drop the word dumb and use and, and. And use free and change your words. So many of them you so many words I have changed in my vocabulary. So when I speak, sometimes I stutter. It's not that I want to recollibrate the word and use another word in it. So the thing about it, we are not here. It is nice for us, for we are in the middle in a cross and the middle passage. So that's the free we are given. You could go out, you could do this. That's the river that flows. But we are not here for that. But none of us here is new. We are all reincarnated.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That makes sense. I'm actually.
Lady Liberty
I'm actually do believe that all been here prior.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
That does make sense.
Lady Liberty
Other. Other people that would like say this young guy is this guy.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
I'm looking at this guy.
Lady Liberty
One of them told me, oh, you old? No, you are older than I because 19 is younger than 20 due to mathematics.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Yeah, but if you got. But you guys have both been here for infinity because of everyone's reincarnation.
Lady Liberty
Infinity is nothing. It's matter. And matter is what you make. It's nothing. Make something of it. We are evolving. So the thing about it is that all the beauty about it right now is us exist. Existing in a new century.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
It's true.
Lady Liberty
The first quarter it showed you, it woke you. COVID 19 was not a miss. It was there to our workers. They will teach you history about whatever you see. How the whole everything. Now the second quarter is coming, the wave is. The Knicks is winning and the World cup is coming in. It's the same crisis, but it's showing you. One came in and people were afraid. And this one is coming in and people are rejoicing.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You know what I just realized is that we're complimentary colors right now. This is like Christmas colors. Oh, and you got the green. You got the green bow tie.
Lady Liberty
So what I'm telling you, what I'm saying to you. I'm not looking for disciples. I'm not looking for friends or apostles. But it used to be in arenas like that they came in and said, yeah, Ye Caesar said. And this one said. And this one did not say. Open up your eyes and observe. That's the way we learn. We are not here for all of these joy things. Break the web easy, break it easily. And then you can find your way and it will be joyous. Not another thing. I want to say chaos. Chaos is.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
You can say one more thing, Lady Liberty.
Lady Liberty
One. Not again. Listen to that. The language. One and more.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
This counts as your thing, Lady Liberty.
Lady Liberty
If it's one is one, why should I end up with more? I only want one, right? That's the language. So it was right for me to do this. This whole world wide web is governed by supremacy. The supremacy is both. It's not white or black. It is the controlling is religion. And who is the God of it? Is witchcraft, Demonic entities. Now please question me. If you'll hear me. Wherever it is, you will find it out for yourself.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Thank you, Lady Liberty. I'll see you around the universe. Appreciate your time.
Lady Liberty
Why are you looking forward for this? Thank you, Lady Liberty and to all who listen on. To all of you. I'm going to give each one of you a jewel.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Well, she. I don't. You guys. You guys couldn't hear it, but she says she's going to give everyone a jewel.
Lady Liberty
Yes. Let your river flow into your sea. And watch it is not coincidence you are here. And my energy is going to go through you. And from now on, from the time you all were here to. We are going to change. Life is changing for you.
Lyle (Therapy Gecko)
Well, okay, I don't know if. All right. I don't know if you guys can hear that, but thank you, Lady Liberty. Thank you, Lady Liberty. I think we did it, folks. I think we did the Therapy Gecko podcast. I learned a lot. I gotta go home and process everything I just learned. You know what's funny is I. Here's. Here's my honest show. When people tell me about, like, this big stuff like that, I'm like, you know, there's no. I don't believe in any version of objective reality. Up could be down. Down could be up. We probably went to the moon. I'm gonna go out on a limb. I think we went to the moon, but the moon. I don't know. The moon could be. No, the moon's probably real. I think the moon's real. Up is up. But who decided what. Who decided what up was. I. I want to. I want to vote. Reality is a democracy. We all get a vote. And the best part is, is that whatever your vote is gets to be your personal reality. So if you want to believe. If you want to believe that your version of reality. The moon. We never went to the moon. You can do it, but, you know, that's your vote. You'll get outvoted by a lot of people who do believe we went to the moon. You'll get outvoted by the scientists, but you get a vote. Everyone gets a vote in their own version of reality, and that's what makes this whole thing nice. I'm Lyle. I'm a gecko. This was being a gecko at a McDonald's slash at a pride parade that I came to accidentally. Thank you guys for being here. Yak Bless. See you all next time.

Episode Overview
In this uniquely whimsical and philosophical street episode, Lyle (donning his Gecko persona) sets up first outside a Brooklyn McDonald's and then accidentally finds himself at a vibrant Pride parade in a New York City park, after being asked to leave the McDonald’s premises. Throughout the episode, Lyle engages random passersby in deeply personal, philosophical, and at times absurd conversations about love, ambition, queer identity, flying planes, thriving amidst chaos—and even whether the moon landing ever happened. The episode’s signature Therapy Gecko tone is heartfelt, humorous, and deeply curious, letting strangers’ stories and personalities take the spotlight.

“I don’t believe in any version of objective reality. Up could be down, down could be up. We probably went to the moon… But, you know, that’s your vote. Reality is a democracy. We all get a vote.” (76:00–77:00)
This episode captures the lively unpredictability of New York street life and the mosaic of perspectives among those Lyle meets by serendipity. The conversations are alternately deep, playful, and surreal, often drifting into philosophical territory. Whether reflecting on the durability of love, the struggle of immigrants, the challenge of queer existence, the ambiguity of reality, or even the cosmic meaning of the moon landing, each participant adds a distinctive layer to the collective street wisdom on display.
No objective reality is established, but a sense of communal curiosity and acceptance reigns. As Lyle himself concludes—your version of reality is yours to vote on, and that’s what makes everything interesting.
For newcomers or longtime Therapy Gecko fans, this episode stands out as a testament to the unrehearsed, delightfully chaotic beauty of public life, chance connection, and our shared hunger for meaning—even (or especially) if “the moon landing did not happen.”
