Cindy Lou Who
Good to go. Oh, nice. We're back for episode two of Cindy Lou to the Rescoo. My secret mission to help Mr. Grinch solve solve the mystery of the missing letters to Santa. He thinks he's doing a great job, but he could use a little help. Not too loud, Max. We don't want him to hear us. Okay, quick recap. We were able to clear the mailman as a key suspect, which is good for him, but not so good for us, because it means Mr. Grinch is no closer to solving this case. And Olive Whoville still thinks he's the culprit. So we need a new lead. What's that, Max? You have a theory? Follow the Whoville firefighters around town and just kind of see what they're up to. Max, be honest. You just want to stop by all the fire hydrants, don't you? Stay focused. Here's what I think we should do. We need to go backwards and talk to two people we overlooked those slippery Houdini twins. Exactly, Max. I don't trust them either. First they blame Mr. Grinch, and then they blame the mailman. They can't keep their stories straight, and they're known pranksters. And what bigger prank could they pull than stealing all the letters to Santa and framing Mr. Grinch for the crime? After our last episode, I got a bunch of anonymous tips from listeners all around Whoville. Max, play the tape.
Listener
Hey, short time listener, one time caller. I don't know those Houdini twins personally, but I do. You know where they like to hang out? That local improv theater downtown.
Cindy Lou Who
Who she be?
Listener
I heard they perform a lot there. Which is kinda messed up cause they're not even funny. I'm funny. Like, here's a good joke. What do you do when you get mixed gingerbread with all this?
Cindy Lou Who
No time's for jokes, but that's a great tip. It makes sense that the twins do improv comedy. The twins love chaos and making things up on the fly. Okay, let's head over to the theater and see if we can track them down. Max, that's not nice. I'm sure these people try their best. Turn off the mics to consider. Okay, so Max and I are here at the improv club, and we don't see any twins anywhere. And maybe dancer parader. We're out of time. The show's about to start.
Listener
Hey, hey, hey. Welcome to WHoCB. We're gonna do a little bit of improv for you tonight. Our team is called who Let the Ville Out? And we just need a one word suggestion.
Cindy Lou Who
Ornaments.
Listener
Okay, I heard ornaments. Let's get started. Bleh. I'm the Grinch, and I hate ornaments.
Cindy Lou Who
Come on, Max, let's sneak backstage during this performance. Not that it's not hilarious. Comedy's subjective. Max. Come on. Through this door. Do you see the Houdini twins back here? I don't see them anywhere. Maybe we should ask those comedians if they know them. Excuse me, do you guys happen to know any prankster twins?
Improv Comedian
Yes and.
Cindy Lou Who
Yes and what? I got this. Yes, and I work as a coal miner. Okay, now you're pretending to shovel coal.
Improv Comedian
For some reason, and I am a conductor.
Listener
Choo choo.
Cindy Lou Who
And you're pretending to ring a train whistle. Okay, if you guys could stop improvising for a second. We're trying to investigate a heist. A heist? Yes, and I did it. What? Yes.
Improv Comedian
And now I'm the police officer arresting you.
Cindy Lou Who
Will you guys please just stop? Uh, hey, no offense, but you're really ruining the scene. What scene? Just tell me if the Houdini twins are back here. Two twins. They look alike, they talk alike, they do weird tricks and magic and I guess improv comedy. Have you seen them?
Improv Comedian
Oh, those guys? They live in a castle on the edge of town. We practice there sometimes.
Cindy Lou Who
A castle? I've never seen a castle in Whoville.
Improv Comedian
Yeah, they painted it to look like the sky, so it's harder to find. Those two are such rascals.
Cindy Lou Who
Lot of birds fly into that house.
Improv Comedian
Which would make them more black and blue jays. More like owls.
Cindy Lou Who
You guys are hilarious. And I'm sure comedy will pan out for you. See ya. Max, Kill the mics. That was definitely something. But we're back on Mount Crumpet with another real lead. We know where to find the Houdinis. Now I'll just write on this piece of paper exactly what we learned. The Houdini twins live in a hidden castle on the edge of town, and they just might be the culprits. I'll just leave this here on Mr. Grinch's desk for him to discard. Discover tomorrow, and I'll never have to know we helped. See you here next week for more great detective work on Cindy Lou to the rescoo. Right, Max? Yes, and let's go to bed.

In the fifth episode of "Cindy Lou to the Resc-Who: The Call," listeners continue following Cindy Lou Who and her canine companion, Max, as they embark on a secret mission to assist the Grinch in uncovering the mystery behind the disappearance of Whoville's letters to Santa. This episode delves deeper into the investigation, introducing new leads and interactions that propel the storyline closer to unraveling the case.
The episode opens with Cindy Lou providing a quick recap of their ongoing investigation:
Cindy Lou Who [00:23]: “Quick recap. We were able to clear the mailman as a key suspect, which is good for him, but not so good for us, because it means Mr. Grinch is no closer to solving this case.”
Despite clearing the mailman, Olive Whoville remains convinced of the Grinch’s guilt, adding pressure on Cindy and Max to uncover new evidence.
The search for new clues takes an intriguing turn when Max suggests following the Whoville firefighters:
Max [00:23]: “Follow the Whoville firefighters around town and just kind of see what they're up to.”
Cindy Lou is skeptical about this lead, suspecting that Max might have ulterior motives:
Cindy Lou Who [00:35]: “Max, be honest. You just want to stop by all the fire hydrants, don't you?”
Determined to stay on track, Cindy identifies a more promising lead—the elusive Houdini twins, notorious pranksters in Whoville.
Cindy Lou Who [00:45]: “We need to go backwards and talk to two people we overlooked: those slippery Houdini twins.”
The twins' history of shifting blame and creating chaos makes them prime suspects in the case of the missing letters.
Incorporating community support, Cindy Lou reveals that anonymous tips from listeners have pointed towards the Houdini twins' possible whereabouts. Max plays a recording from a listener:
Listener [01:51]: “I heard they perform a lot there [referring to the improv theater downtown]. Which is kinda messed up cause they're not even funny. I'm funny.”
Cindy Lou acknowledges the tip and deduces the twins' affinity for chaos aligns with their presence at an improv comedy venue:
Cindy Lou Who [02:15]: “It makes sense that the twins do improv comedy. The twins love chaos and making things up on the fly.”
With renewed purpose, Cindy and Max head to the local improv theater to track down the twins.
Upon arriving at the theater, Cindy Lou and Max attempt to locate the Houdini twins during a live performance. Their efforts are met with comedic resistance from the improvisers, who initially impede their search with improvised roles:
Improv Comedian [03:01]: “I'm the Grinch, and I hate ornaments.”
Undeterred, Cindy Lou presses the comedians for information about the Houdini twins:
Cindy Lou Who [03:34]: “Excuse me, do you guys happen to know any prankster twins?”
The improvisers eventually divulge crucial information about the twins' secretive residence:
Improv Comedian [04:27]: “Oh, those guys? They live in a castle on the edge of town. We practice there sometimes.”
However, the description adds an element of mystery as Cindy realizes the castle is camouflaged:
Cindy Lou Who [04:31]: “A castle? I've never seen a castle in Whoville.”
Further clarification reveals the castle's deceptive appearance:
Improv Comedian [04:35]: “Yeah, they painted it to look like the sky, so it's harder to find.”
This revelation provides Cindy Lou and Max with a concrete location to pursue in their investigation.
Returning to Mount Crumpet, Cindy Lou documents the new lead:
Cindy Lou Who [04:40]: “The Houdini twins live in a hidden castle on the edge of town, and they just might be the culprits.”
She discreetly leaves the information for Mr. Grinch, ensuring that their involvement remains under wraps to maintain the integrity of the investigation:
Cindy Lou Who [04:50]: “I'll just leave this here on Mr. Grinch's desk for him to discard. Discover tomorrow, and I'll never have to know we helped.”
As the episode wraps up, Cindy Lou and Max prepare for the next phase of their detective work, hinting at further adventures and discoveries in upcoming episodes:
