Cindy Lou Who
We're on. Welcome to episode five of Cindy Lou to the Rescue. My secret side investigation to help Mr. Grinch solve the mystery of the missing letters to Santa. And I'm not coming to you from Mount Crumpet. I'm here at the North Pole. Mr. Grinch is here too, but he doesn't know about the huge lead I'm following. I didn't want to interrupt his process. Whoa. Almost just got run over by a reindeer taxi. I'm following up on a lead we got from our surprisingly nice and not scary new buddy, T Bone, which led me, using my advanced powers of deduction, to believe that the true villain in this saga was none other Mrs. Claus. I was positive I'd solved the case. But I just spoke to the missus herself, and she has a rock solid alibi. She was super busy the night those letters went missing. She did two hours of Jazzercise, led the Elfin Men's Choir, baked 15 trays of Christmas cookies, and even taught a snowflake design class all in one night. She is amazing. It was so incredible to meet her. I almost didn't care that we've made no progress on the case. What am I saying? The clock is ticking. It's almost Christmas. I know. Need to double down on this case. Cindy, where are you, girl? Oh, look, there's Mr. Grinch running from the Gingerbread Security Force. What was that, Max? It was Postmaster General Glee who stole the letters. And now she's after us. We better go. Looks like we're home again, empty handed. We know Postmaster Glee stole the letters, but we don't have any evidence to prove it. Shucks, I feel so bad. Our investigation didn't help Grinch at all. Wait, really, Max? You were able to snack Glee's microphone while you were running away? You're a genius. Let's hope Mr. Grinch didn't forget to hit record. Let's see what she said.
Postmaster General Glee
What did I do? I. I stole all the letters.
Cindy Lou Who
Did you hear that? And the take keeps going.
Postmaster General Glee
Then I secretly stuffed one of them inside a package headed to none other than the Grinch to frame him like a picture. Finally, I'm getting my sweet revenge.
Cindy Lou Who
Revenge on Mr. Grinch for what?
Postmaster General Glee
Those fools think forever stamps really last forever. Joke's on them. That adhesive on the back will decompose in 10 to 20 years.
Cindy Lou Who
Well, that has nothing to do with anything. And why is she talking herself so much? Oh, she's still going.
Postmaster General Glee
I can't believe we get away with making mailmen wear safari hats with shorts all summer. They look so silly.
Cindy Lou Who
Okay, well, that's just me.
Postmaster General Glee
And I guess that Grinch is pretty cute if you squint so hard, your eyes kind of close.
Cindy Lou Who
She has a crush on Mr. Grinch. Gross. Wow, this tape is incriminating on so many levels. The Whoville Prison better make room in its single cell. We're gonna nab this Postmaster General. Max, we have to get this tape in front of Mr. Grinch pronto. His freedom and Christmas depends on it.
'Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast - Episode 8: "Cindy Lou to the Resc-Who: The Confession"Release Date: January 16, 2025
Host/Author: Wondery
Featuring: James Austin Johnson as The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Max the Dog, and Postmaster General Glee
In the eighth episode of the beloved 'Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast, titled "Cindy Lou to the Resc-Who: The Confession," listeners are plunged deeper into the whimsical and mystery-laden world of Whoville. This episode continues the heartwarming and suspenseful journey of Cindy Lou Who as she teams up with The Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, to solve the puzzling disappearance of children's letters to Santa.
The episode kicks off with Cindy Lou Who, voiced by [Not Provided], revealing her clandestine efforts to assist Mr. Grinch in unmasking the culprit behind the missing letters. Speaking from the North Pole (00:23), Cindy Lou emphasizes her independent investigation, stating:
Cindy Lou Who: "I'm following up on a lead we got from our surprisingly nice and not scary new buddy, T Bone, which led me... to believe that the true villain in this saga was none other Mrs. Claus." (00:45)
Cindy Lou initially suspects Mrs. Claus, only to discover that her lead falls apart after an alibi check reveals Mrs. Claus was super busy during the disappearance:
Cindy Lou Who: "She did two hours of Jazzercise, led the Elfin Men's Choir, baked 15 trays of Christmas cookies, and even taught a snowflake design class all in one night." (01:10)
This revelation underscores Mrs. Claus's multifaceted role in Whoville, leaving Cindy Lou and listeners questioning the true identity of the perpetrator.
As Cindy Lou grapples with the stalled investigation, an unexpected turn of events unfolds. While tracking leads, she narrowly avoids being run over by a reindeer taxi and witnesses a chase involving Postmaster General Glee (00:23-03:19). The situation heightens when Max uncovers a pivotal piece of evidence:
Max: "It was Postmaster General Glee who stole the letters." (02:15)
Despite identifying Glee as the thief, the team lacks concrete evidence to accuse her. This frustration is palpable as Cindy Lou laments their lack of progress:
Cindy Lou Who: "Shucks, I feel so bad. Our investigation didn't help Grinch at all." (02:40)
However, Max's resourcefulness shines through when he retrieves Glee's microphone, capturing her own confession. As Cindy Lou and Max piece together the audio evidence, Postmaster General Glee inadvertently reveals her motives:
Postmaster General Glee: "I stole all the letters... Then I secretly stuffed one of them inside a package headed to none other than the Grinch to frame him like a picture. Finally, I'm getting my sweet revenge." (02:31-02:45)
Glee's confession delves into her grievances against Whoville's postal system, particularly targeting the forever stamps:
Postmaster General Glee: "Those fools think forever stamps really last forever. Joke's on them. That adhesive on the back will decompose in 10 to 20 years." (02:49-03:01)
Her cynical remarks about postal policies not only highlight her personal vendetta but also reveal deeper systemic issues within Whoville's Christmas traditions.
Additionally, Glee's unguarded comments about The Grinch and the mailmen's attire provide further insights into her character:
Postmaster General Glee: "I can't believe we get away with making mailmen wear safari hats with shorts all summer. They look so silly." (03:06-03:13)
Postmaster General Glee: "And I guess that Grinch is pretty cute if you squint so hard, your eyes kind of close." (03:14-03:19)
These remarks not only expose her personal biases but also inadvertently incriminate her through her affectionate tone towards The Grinch, making her confession even more damning.
With the damning audio evidence in hand, Cindy Lou and Max realize the significance of their find:
Cindy Lou Who: "Wow, this tape is incriminating on so many levels. The Whoville Prison better make room in its single cell. We're gonna nab this Postmaster General." (03:14-03:19)
The episode culminates with a sense of urgency as Cindy Lou underscores the importance of presenting this evidence to The Grinch promptly to save his reputation and ensure Christmas proceeds without further hindrance.
As the episode wraps up, listeners are left with a cliffhanger that sets the stage for future developments. The revelation of Postmaster General Glee's motives and her inadvertent confession positions Cindy Lou and Max as pivotal figures in restoring the holiday spirit in Whoville. The team must now navigate the complexities of confronting Glee and securing justice to ensure that all children's wishes for Christmas come true.
Cindy Lou Who on Mrs. Claus's Alibi:
"She did two hours of Jazzercise, led the Elfin Men's Choir, baked 15 trays of Christmas cookies, and even taught a snowflake design class all in one night." (01:10)
Postmaster General Glee’s Confession:
"I stole all the letters... Then I secretly stuffed one of them inside a package headed to none other than the Grinch to frame him like a picture. Finally, I'm getting my sweet revenge." (02:31-02:45)
