Cindy Lou
Hello, Whoville Whodunit fans, and welcome to another episode of Cindy Lou to the Res. Khu. I'm here, as always, with my first co host, Max, and wow, this case is getting heavier than a week old fruitcake. You know, Max, I don't actually have any week old fruitcake. Anyway, we've got a lot to unpack here, and we have to do it quickly. Mr. Grinch is packing his bags right now for the North Pole. But first, I need to follow up on my own lead. One that he knows nothing about. The cuckoo clock. Max and I need to sneak out of here and find whoever sent me that clock. No, not lick his face until he confesses. We go down there and talk to him. You know what that means. Max, we're going. Max, you turned off the microphone too soon. I didn't finish my sentence. Okay, let's try that again. We're going to prison. We are here at Whoville Penitentiary. And you know what? It's not as scary as I thought it would be. There's a big sign that says, welcome, criminals with a smiley face and three exclamation points. And they even have a Christmas tree with garlands made out of barbed wire. Aw, that's right, Max. Everybody deserves a happy holiday season. Now let's see if a guard will let us talk to our mystery source.
Wondery Host
Christmas tree. I am.
Cindy Lou
Excuse me, sir.
Wondery Host
Hello there. Criminal or non criminal?
Cindy Lou
Ah, non criminal.
Wondery Host
No problemo. No judgment. Seriously, either way, I just thought you might be, you know, turning yourself in. Shh. How can I help you?
Cindy Lou
Well, we were hoping to speak with one of your inmates.
Wondery Host
What do you mean, one of. And there's only one inmate here.
Cindy Lou
Wait, really?
Wondery Host
You betcha. The crime rate in Whoville is.001%. Can you believe that's why this jail only has one cell? We used to have another guy in here, but he just got out on great behavior.
Cindy Lou
Uh, don't you mean good behavior?
Wondery Host
No, I mean great. He put on a Christmas themed variety show for the whole dang staff. Nice guy. At the end, he made his handcuffs disappear, and we were like, okay, you rascal, get on outta here now.
Cindy Lou
I feel like we're getting off track. Can I speak to the inmate who's still here?
Wondery Host
What do you wanna talk to that guy for? He's a little cuckoo.
Cindy Lou
Sir, is that a cuckoo clock? Behind you.
Wondery Host
Sure is. The inmate made it for me during arts and crafts.
Cindy Lou
Is that the only one he made?
Wondery Host
No way. He must have made a dozen. And we bundled them all up and sent them out as gifts for a guy in jail. He's got a lot of friends. A cousin in Whoville, some buddies up at the North Pole. We even sent one to Mount Crumpet.
Cindy Lou
Well, that one just happened to go to me, Mr. Prison Guard. And I'd like to thank him in person. And that's the only reason we're here? Definitely no other motives.
Wondery Host
Yeah, makes sense to me. Alrighty then, follow me. This way. Here he is. That ominous dark figure lurking in the shadows at the back of his cell. What a character.
Cindy Lou
Sir, who are you?
Wondery Host
The name's T Bone.
T Bone
Easy, Max. Sorry, guys. The air is so dry in here. Really does a number on my sinuses.
Cindy Lou
Wait, you're an elf? You should be up at the North Pole getting ready for Christmas. Unless you betrayed Christmas and wreaked havoc on Santa's workshop and now you're in jail. That must be how you got such a scary name, T Bone. Yay.
T Bone
Hey, relax, kid. Now, one time, my buddies and I went to brunch and everyone got pancakes and I got a 10 ounce steak. All the other elves were like, ew, look at fancy Mr. T butt over here. Oh, they never let me live it down. Those guys are the best. Miss em every day. Man, I miss a lot about my old life, my old job. Let me tell you, nobody sorted letters to Santa like old T Bone.
Cindy Lou
Your job was sorting Santa's letters. Well, no wonder you sent us that riddle. But why aren't you working up there now? How'd you end up down here in Whoville Prison?
T Bone
Ah, that. Yeah, see, not too long ago, I became a whistleblower. Whoa.
Cindy Lou
You mean you spoke out about corruption at the highest levels of the North Pole and were punished into silence?
T Bone
No, I was a whistleblower. I got this great new train whistle. Super shiny, great tune. And I wouldn't stop blowing it all the time at work. Oh, it was driving the other elves crazy. Not a great justice system up there. You take off the wrong elf and they'll boot you out the workshop door straight into prison.
Cindy Lou
Well, Mr. T Bone, it's time to be a real whistleblower and tell me why all of who Phil's letters to Santa have gone missing.
T Bone
Oh, yeah, I heard about that. National news.
Cindy Lou
Do you know who stole them? Is that why you sent me that cuckoo clock with a miniature Santa holding an empty mailbag Aye, aye, ayesh.
T Bone
Not too loud. Big Christmas has eyes and ears everywhere.
Cindy Lou
Big Christmas? Like Santa?
T Bone
No, not Santa. But someone very near and dear to him.
Cindy Lou
Well, I need to know or else Grinch is going to become your new cellmate. And trust me, you do not want to share a bathroom with that guy.
T Bone
You don't get it. You guys will never be able to take her down.
Cindy Lou
Her? Who's her?
T Bone
Listen, I've already said too much. If I say much else, she'll cut the me. How?
Cindy Lou
Well, let's just say the claws will be out. Sorry, the claws. The claws. I'm picking up what you're throwing down, T bone. Clue received.
Wondery Host
What clue?
T Bone
Hey, hey, where are you going?
Cindy Lou
I never get visitors. You all heard the man. Our new suspect is Something Claus. And she's a she. We'll pick up this trail next time on Cindy Lou to the resu. Cindy Lou signing out.
'Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast Episode: Cindy Lou to the Res-Who: The Prisoner | 7 Release Date: January 15, 2025
In episode seven of 'Cindy Lou to the Res. Khu', titled "The Prisoner", hosted by Wondery, Cindy Lou and her trusty co-host Max delve deeper into the mystery of the missing letters to Santa. As the investigation heats up, the dynamic duo finds themselves at Whoville Penitentiary, seeking new leads and uncovering unexpected secrets. This episode is packed with suspense, humor, and intriguing revelations that propel the story forward.
Cindy Lou and Max begin their quest by heading to Whoville Penitentiary, a surprisingly low-security facility given Whoville's negligible crime rate.
Their visit aims to track down the origin of the mysterious cuckoo clock sent to Cindy Lou, which they suspect is linked to the disappearance of Santa's letters.
Upon arrival, Cindy Lou and Max interact with the prison guard, who provides insight into the facility's unique circumstances.
Cindy Lou [02:14]:
"Well, we were hoping to speak with one of your inmates."
Guard [00:23]:
"The crime rate in Whoville is .001%. Can you believe that's why this jail only has one cell."
[02:21]
The guard humorously mentions that the only inmate, T Bone, previously entertained the staff with a Christmas variety show before earning his release on great behavior.
The highlight of the episode is the introduction of T Bone, the sole inmate whose quirky personality becomes a focal point of the investigation.
Cindy Lou [03:54]:
"Sir, who are you?"
T Bone [03:58]:
"The name's T Bone."
[03:58]
T Bone reveals his background as an elf formerly responsible for sorting Santa's letters, but his downfall came from being a "whistleblower" over something seemingly trivial—the incessant blowing of a train whistle.
Cindy Lou presses him for information regarding the missing letters, steering the conversation towards the core mystery.
As the interview progresses, T Bone provides cryptic hints that point towards a deeper conspiracy within Whoville and possibly beyond.

"Not too loud. Big Christmas has eyes and ears everywhere."
[06:01]
This enigmatic statement introduces a new suspect: Something Claus. T Bone warns Cindy Lou that exposing the truth will be dangerous, hinting at the involvement of a powerful entity close to Santa.
Cindy Lou skillfully interprets this clue, setting the stage for future investigations.
This light-hearted yet suspenseful exchange underscores the gravity of the situation and the impending challenges.
As the episode draws to a close, Cindy Lou synthesizes the information gathered from T Bone, identifying Something Claus as the new lead in their investigation. The mystery deepens, promising more thrilling developments in upcoming episodes.
