Phil Robertson
I am unashamed. What about you? Well, no. No. Cause that's what I told her. I said, pull over. She said, well, there ain't nothing here. I said, hey, hey, that's all right. And I said, all you need to do is look forward. I said, I'm gonna step out and take a leak. I said, I'm either gonna wet this seed or I'm gonna get out. Your choice. I said. Cause this kid's gotta go. We ready to crank his baby off?
Jase Robertson
I think it already cranks.
Al Robertson
All right, we're cracked. We're rolling. Welcome back to Unashamed.
Phil Robertson
I've been looking forward to this ever since Wednesday. Me and Jace did a podcast, and then he told me.
Al Robertson
Were you on their podcast?
Willie Robertson
It was.
Phil Robertson
Now, this was a. For Bill Jordan.
Al Robertson
Oh.
Phil Robertson
We did 50, 40 years of, you know, being Top Gun on.
Willie Robertson
We did a few camouflage. Okay. Me and sad. We did a favor because we can't say no, right?
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
You know, I've been looking forward to this because I've had two days to think about it. And. Look, I'll start this out. We're talking about Phil. When Phil was run with the devil, okay. His motto was, who's the Man?
Al Robertson
Yep.
Phil Robertson
Well, when me and Willie and Corey.
Willie Robertson
Well, it was who's a Man?
Phil Robertson
Well, yeah, but. Okay.
Al Robertson
Because who's the man is much more spiritual.
Phil Robertson
But anyway, so when we went, by.
Al Robertson
The way, Phillips here. Hey, guys.
Phil Robertson
What's up? Hi. I went with Corey and Willie to God behind bars in San Quentin. Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
This lady who was married to a veteran that lost his life in the service of our country. Okay. He was a sniper. She done a wonderful job. She was the best speaker there. Okay. But anyway, she said me, set it up for me perfectly, because I was going to talk about the man. Capital T, H, E, M A, N. Yeah. All capital letters. And it's Jesus. Yeah. So that's what I did up there. But this. You know, Jace, on the 4th of July, you've done an excellent job with the Son of Man, because we've been.
Al Robertson
Talking about that a lot.
Phil Robertson
But say I've done. You know, I've had, what, Wednesday night? Thursday night, and then.
Willie Robertson
Is today Friday?
Phil Robertson
Today's Friday.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Okay. I've had that much time to think about it.
Willie Robertson
Well, you know why I did that when I walked in? Because I didn't know who those people were because I thought it was a podcast, like you. But it actually wasn't. We were just acting like it was a podcast commercial.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. I guess that's What? I don't know.
Phil Robertson
We had an audience.
Willie Robertson
I was wondering where I was there, but then I thought, all the Silas.
Al Robertson
Need is an audience.
Willie Robertson
But I thought, there's a lot of people in this room that I don't know. Yeah.
Phil Robertson
So.
Willie Robertson
So I. I pulled in the spirit of your brother Phil.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
I said, well, s. I heard you were going to be on our podcast Friday. So then I gave about a five to ten directional sermon. Then we went, well, everybody sitting there listening. And it was about this, the Son of man Jesus study classic.
Al Robertson
What would dad say? Directional dialogue.
Willie Robertson
Cuz I made a comment, he's like, I've been talking about the man. And I said, well, which I think is interesting. When I looked up the Greek for the son of man, one of the phrases that it's literally translated is the man.
Phil Robertson
No, no.
Willie Robertson
And they got s. Stirred up.
Phil Robertson
He's like, really? No, no.
Willie Robertson
He's like, I've been talking about that for years.
Phil Robertson
No, no, because I got fired up about it because, you know, because I said, wait a minute, you know, he said, hey, we're going to be in chapter 12 of John. So I'd asked you. Okay. I tell you, hey, look, I want you to do a sermon. I said, because only you can do it. That will satisfy me. Yeah, about. I want you.
Al Robertson
That's one of my biggest.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no, but I wanted to. Comparison ain't a good word. But anyway, I wanted you to go with, okay, the Son of Man and then the Son of God. And this right here.
Al Robertson
Because he's both.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. You know, when you say. When you read and I. I've been reading, you know, since Wednesday.
Willie Robertson
Really?
Phil Robertson
Yeah. About how many times that it said the Son of Man because Jesus had.
Willie Robertson
It counted 80 to 100 times, depending on.
Al Robertson
Right.
Phil Robertson
You know, because I stood the Bible just going, you know, good grief. I said, you know, because I said, I've been talking about the man. Because I always get a kick out of it. And I love to say, you know, hey, let me tell you about the man that hung the sun. Okay. That hung the moon, that hung the stars.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Phil Robertson
Well, when you think about it, you know, people don't realize. And then in here, we'll get into it later, but when it says the hour has arrived that the Son of Man is to be glorified.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. That's John 12. That's good.
Phil Robertson
You know, and I looked and I said, wait a minute, good grief. You know, I told Al to do this, the deal. And I've read John now I don't need it.
Al Robertson
No, you got it. You're doing this.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
I don't need it. Because, hey, you know, you got to think about it. You know, it wasn't the Son of Man that completed the mission. I mean, it wasn't the Son of God that completed the mission.
Al Robertson
There you go.
Phil Robertson
It was the Son of Man, folks. Wait a minute. Good grief. All the stuff that Jesus went through.
Al Robertson
Yeah. For you.
Phil Robertson
Yo.
Jase Robertson
Hey, so when Chris Kyle's wife was.
Willie Robertson
Was talking.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So when she was talking, you know, she alluded to that. And when Sai got up, he said, let me tell you, you know how he is about the man. And they all went wild. Anything he says, they just all went crazy. He said, if you ain't got Jesus, you ain't got doodly squat.
Phil Robertson
Then I looked up and I said, hey, everybody, turn around and look back behind you up in the sky.
Willie Robertson
I said, it always makes me nervous when you do that.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. But hey, y', all, I said, look back.
Jase Robertson
And what we saw was armed guards around the rails.
Phil Robertson
You gotta look above the rail. And the guns. I said, I'm talking about. I pointed at the ball of fire. I said, folks, I know the man that hung that.
Willie Robertson
The Son of man who hung the sun.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Al Robertson
You know, it's funny. So I don't know if you know this or not. When you were saying that earlier. I was. There's a song that was popular about 10 years ago called the Man. If I played it, you would recognize it. And it was. It was in commercials and all this stuff. But in the song, the guy singing, he says, I'm the man.
Unspecified Speaker
Oh, yeah.
Al Robertson
I'm the man.
Jase Robertson
I'm the man.
Willie Robertson
I'm the man.
Al Robertson
I'm the man. And I. And which, if you think about the.
Willie Robertson
Band, that's a different song. I'm the man. Phil's song that he got, who's a Man? Was a song from Chicago.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Then he would put on Chicago and that. Don, Don, Don.
Jase Robertson
I'm going to look that song up.
Willie Robertson
No, that's how it starts.
Phil Robertson
Bass guitar.
Willie Robertson
So your next time you play Name that tune. And then you hear a little. And then he starts. He. The first line is. He. He. He's saying something about the whiskers on his chin. So you see why I feel like.
Phil Robertson
That's why I feel.
Jase Robertson
That's just his thing.
Al Robertson
Yeah, look.
Willie Robertson
Then he gets to the crescendo, and it's like, I'm a man. Yes, I am. So that's where it came from. And then here, fast forward Until I said that. So now we have to, I think, back up to our viewers should be, like, started mid.
Al Robertson
Well. But to continue that thread, though, that dad always. I mentioned this at his funeral, that current, like, the music he listened to before he was a Christian and then even after, always, like, spoke to him, but he always put a spiritual slant on it. And I mentioned the Eagle song, Take it to the Limit, which was one he really listened to a lot. And it always kind of scared me because I was afraid he was going.
Jase Robertson
To go back, take it back to the limit.
Al Robertson
Take it back to the limit. But what he was saying was, that's the way I used. That was the old man, take it to the limit one more time. He said, but we live that life and we found the limit. Yeah.
Phil Robertson
And now we take it to the right.
Al Robertson
And now we take it to the right.
Jase Robertson
And like Jace used to say back in the day, if you've got nothing else, you might as well take it to the limit. You know what I mean? And then I used to go down to Phil's when I was in the school of Biblical Studies, and I would go down the fields and he'd teach me some stuff. I'd learn some stuff from him. And then he would love to play the music and the radio and the air guitar. He loved the song Love is Like Oxygen.
Al Robertson
Yeah. By Sweet, Sweet.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
He loved. We would sit in my car and crank it up when I hear.
Al Robertson
When I hear. And I have to turn it up now.
Jase Robertson
Oh, no, you listen to this little.
Phil Robertson
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Jase Robertson
You see what I'm talking about, Max? He loved the very end of the song, though, when it went. The bass, you know, he's like. He's like. Yeah, no, no, listen up, listen. That part is what you got.
Phil Robertson
We ain't got into it yet, but this is what I loved about. About this, okay. Is that, you know, I'm gonna go military with you. Oh, okay. Jesus was. Gave a command. Okay. On a mission.
Al Robertson
Yep.
Phil Robertson
From the Father.
Al Robertson
Yep.
Phil Robertson
Okay. And then we're back to it. The Son of Man came. Okay. And he came here miraculously.
Willie Robertson
Okay.
Phil Robertson
Born of a virgin woman.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
No sex.
Willie Robertson
Definitely a miracle.
Phil Robertson
Okay. That's a. That's. That's a worthwhile arrival. Okay.
Willie Robertson
Because, you know, it sounds like a side story.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no. When you get to this, if it's.
Al Robertson
100 true, it's 100% true.
Phil Robertson
No, no. When you get to this, okay, we call.
Willie Robertson
He's holding up the Bible.
Phil Robertson
We call that the Bible, the Word of God. God. Okay. The story is so amazing that really just being human, it's hard to believe.
Al Robertson
Yep.
Unspecified Speaker
So I'm in studio today, Al. It is hot in Louisiana.
Al Robertson
Wow. Did you forget what it was like here? You moved to the mountains, now you come back, you realize the sticky heat.
Phil Robertson
I did.

Phil Robertson
But. But the thing about it is Jesus came from heaven, okay? He was the word then. Okay? And he became flesh deity in human form, for crying out loud. That's why when I look at it and I got on this son of man that, you know, my goodness. Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So that's been fired up, boys.
Phil Robertson
Well, the Son of man was given a mission by the Father.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
And his mission was. And he knew what it was. He was to come to the earth, come become flesh, and then die for me and you. What me and you do wrong? Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Okay. And hey, when I say the man, you know, how do you handle that? Because, hey, look, he was tempted in every way.
Al Robertson
We're tempted, right?
Willie Robertson
Hebrews 4.
Phil Robertson
He was. He was a man 100%. But he was also the Son of God. 100%.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Okay. But the thing about it is I've. I've had. I preached to people before, and then they said, well, wait a minute. If he was God, he didn't feel it. And I said, you idiot, you have missed the whole point of my talking to you.
Al Robertson
You thought that. You didn't say it.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, well, no, no, I did. I did say it.
Willie Robertson
Okay, I'll bounce for him.
Phil Robertson
No, no, because it was just, you know, you missed the whole point.
Al Robertson
Yep.
Phil Robertson
You know. And now back to the son of Man. Okay, think about that. A man was given the mission. Oh, by the way, here's what we're going to do. Here's the plan. This is from the Father and the Holy Spirit. You're going to have to become flesh, and then you're going to have to die, you know, to redeem all my children.
Jase Robertson
The old scheme of redemption now.
Al Robertson
Yep.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. Which is a good phrase.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Well, let's give a little review.
Al Robertson
So.
Willie Robertson
So the people who have it, they may not even know what we're talking about.
Phil Robertson
We can't. We come.
Jase Robertson
But that's normal.
Al Robertson
Welcome, Uncle.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, we're coming in the back door.
Willie Robertson
Coming in.
Al Robertson
So, speaking of a man on a mission, I came across this picture recently, sir. And Maddie will show it a little bit more where you can see, because I was intrigued because there's there with a slight beard growth. And I'm going to guess this around circa late 70s, early 80s, probably. I can see Trace Ali, your daughter, in the background, and she looks like she's maybe 12 or 13 years old. And I think it's Christine's legs. And then dad is. And Jace there sitting on the couch. That was your bed.
Willie Robertson
That was my bed during that.
Al Robertson
During that era. So I just came across that.
Willie Robertson
So y'.
Phil Robertson
All.
Willie Robertson
Y' all give some sympathy for me, because just imagine if people just come up and just start taking your bed over as a place of Beside.
Al Robertson
The reason. The reason that Jase was on that couch and that I was in the laundry room was because Willie peed the bed. And we first. We all started out in the same bed together. We didn't know who was peeing the bed every night because it could have been any of us. I mean, like, we were. We were all potential. I'm gonna.
Jase Robertson
Jason's saying, no, it couldn't be him.
Willie Robertson
I knew it wasn't me.
Al Robertson
No. All I know is it was great for 30 seconds and then it was not so good.
Willie Robertson
I think the backstory on that Al used in that house later, then the House sold.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
And then someone else was living in the house. Then they found these pictures of. Of people who turned out to be famous.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
So I being one of them. So they're, you know, make a dollar.
Phil Robertson
Which is a God thing. I can.
Willie Robertson
I can sell some old pictures. But then somebody from our crew saw.
Al Robertson
The pictures, rescued them.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Al Robertson
Rescued the pictures and got it to me.
Willie Robertson
What. What I found fascinating about that picture, besides them sitting on my bed, is that. Sigh. If you take his glasses off there, he looks exactly like John Luke. We'll put the picture up.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Because you had no do you right there. So if it was early 70s.
Phil Robertson
Tracer is about 12.
Jase Robertson
You look about 25.
Phil Robertson
It's got to be 80.
Al Robertson
Okay. Mid 80s. Mid 80s, yeah.
Willie Robertson
Oh, mid 80s.
Al Robertson
Mid 80s,yeah. Which is right where you were on the couch as a teenager.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. So that's 85. So. So 40 years ago. So what? You were 30.
Al Robertson
37 years old.
Willie Robertson
You were 30? 37.
Phil Robertson
Right. You know, I shouldn't do it, but I'm gonna do it anyway. But it runs in the family because I actually peed the bed when I was a teenager.
Willie Robertson
Oh, boy.
Phil Robertson
Okay. What? I'm just saying.
Jase Robertson
I wouldn't have told that.
Phil Robertson
No, no. This is somebody.
Willie Robertson
I hate to tell you this.
Phil Robertson
I might have to get on. Willie, when I see you, I hate.
Willie Robertson
To tell you this, but you're probably going to do it again, so. But that's another story.
Phil Robertson
Well, I'm going. I know I'm going down.
Al Robertson
It all comes back around.
Jase Robertson
You start there, you end there.
Phil Robertson
What goes around comes around, baby. Oh, boy. Okay.
Al Robertson
Is that me or is that another reason I brought it outside? More than just a random. I had the picture was that you were a man on a mission in this picture, because you were in the. Right. In the middle of your military career. Career. So Cy would come home. I think I said this on the last time I was on duck call room. The reason we loved Uncle Sa is the same reason you love him out there is because he would come to our house, like on this occasion, this was probably near the holidays. And we'd only see him every three years because you were deployed. And you would come home, but you'd be there a couple of weeks because you'd hunt during Christmas or Thanksgiving. And so Sa would just tell us these amazing tales of his life and what was going on and how the. You know that all his CEOs that didn't were idiots and all this stuff. Oh, I've heard those.
Phil Robertson
No, no. My brother Harold Actually told me one time, you know, when I got in his face, he was the first lieutenant. Your mom had to step between us. But then he said. He said, you got an authority problem, son. And I said, well, no, I don't have authority problem, but I've got authority. I have problems with stupid authority. Okay.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, well, speaking of, I was trying to do a Bible overview, and now we.
Al Robertson
Let me get.
Willie Robertson
Speaking of, the other day, Jay calls me and he's like, have you seen this bridge over at Willie's Pond? And I was like, oh, you talking about my bridge that I fish? Because I treat that as like part of the family. But it's actually. There's two bridges on the.
Al Robertson
It's Willie's pod. It's Willie's bridge. It's Willie's fish, but it's also Jason's bridge. Jason's pond. And Jason.
Willie Robertson
Jay goes down there and assesses the situation. He didn't know what happened. He just assessed it. And he's like, here was his word. S. Some idiot.
Phil Robertson
I told you. I told you.
Willie Robertson
Tried to drive a truck across a bridge that was made for a golf cart.
Al Robertson
Yes. It's like, golf cart is what we drive there. Or a. Atv.
Willie Robertson
So after investigation, he called me later and he's like, you're not going to believe this.
Phil Robertson
He said, I found idiot.
Willie Robertson
He said, your uncle. I thought size the only one still alive.
Al Robertson
You're the only one. You and Gordo are the only two.
Willie Robertson
Tried to drive a truck across that bridge.
Phil Robertson
Oh, I didn't try. I drove it across. It's got little marks on it now, but hey, it got through there.
Al Robertson
It's not quite wide.
Willie Robertson
Basically tore up his truck. And the bridge said bridge by that stunt.
Phil Robertson
I blocked field. It's a little. Little. It's wide enough now I go through.
Jase Robertson
Well, this is on the par three golf course. That Willie's house?
Al Robertson
Yeah, this is right in the middle.
Jase Robertson
Okay.
Willie Robertson
Know what my response was? I said, did anybody film that? He said, no.
Jase Robertson
Security cam.
Willie Robertson
He was going to actually be on the filming.
Phil Robertson
He was.
Al Robertson
He was driving to Sades, which is ATV only. The. The irony of this situation is that Sai is now trying to renew his.
Phil Robertson
Driver'S license, and I'm having.
Al Robertson
Well, s. We all know why you.
Willie Robertson
Should be having trouble.
Jase Robertson
Hey, at least they're not making you take the driver's license test.
Willie Robertson
You know what that means? Somebody. If you're having problems getting a driver's license, that. Here's what that means.
Al Robertson
One of the most famous.
Willie Robertson
The top of my head. Let Me say my punchline. Somebody at the dmv, they're doing their job. So thank you. The world is actually showing improvement.
Phil Robertson
No efficiency at the DMV. I used to own a 2012 Colorado Chevrolet. I sold it. That's the problem.
Jase Robertson
He sold.
Phil Robertson
I've got it for.
Jase Robertson
He sold it to another military veteran, Jay McMillan.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, well, the irony of this conversation is you brought your chauffeur to this podcast. That's right. So you already have a chauffeur? Well, you need a driver's license.
Phil Robertson
No, I live brought me today. Normally he's riding, but hey, look, I've got a brand new Ford pickup truck, okay? And I need to have a driver's license to drive it.

A lot of kids start their relationship with Jesus at a local Tomorrow Clubs camp. Despite the risk of extreme persecution, Tomorrow Clubs held a summer camp for 80 teenagers in Belarus, where most campers had never heard the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. And on the final night, nearly every teen responded to the call to follow Jesus. I mean, I really love to hear stories like this one boy, his name was Oleg. He came out of curiosity, but God touched his heart and he gave his life to Christ that night and started attending church. And now he wants to join the worship team. Tomorrow Club's camps are the beginning of a lifelong journey with Jesus. And so we want to partner with these guys because they are involved in long term discipleship. So here's our goal. Bring Christ centered discipleship to 3,000 kids this summer through 30 Bible camps around the world. And we're asking unashamed listeners to help us get there. You guys have already raised $19,037, but we still need to raise an additional $10,963 to reach our goal. The cost, just $1,000, sponsors a full five day camp for 100 kids. But any amount will help. Sponsor a day of camp for $200 or send 10 kids to camp for $100. Go to tomorrowclubs.org 30camps or simply text 30camps to 44321 to give. Now that's tomorrowclubs.org 30cands or text 30camps to 44321. Let's help bring the gospel to thousands of kids around the world.
Al Robertson
Do you know the last time that mom drove? She drove to town from out there and I happened to be behind her because we had just finished a podcast and she spent about 10% of the time in the lane designed for her and 90% of the time on the shoulder or sometimes on the other side. And that's the last time she's ever driven. But just so you know, I just happened to be that. I was like, mom, you're gonna kill somebody.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no. Cause Benfield and in the truck, and there was a stuff of, you know, long lines, slow traffic, and we talking about, yeah, Fields. I wonder who what the idiot is. What are you doing up there? We come up in front, and it's Paul.
Al Robertson
Yeah. Your dad.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, my dad.
Willie Robertson
In first gear.
Phil Robertson
Four wheel drive. He's in first gear. He couldn't get it to second, third, or fourth.
Al Robertson
And that motor was sounding like it was about to blow. He couldn't get it out of here all the way to town.
Jase Robertson
Did y' all help him?
Phil Robertson
No, we just passed him. Passed him Field.
Al Robertson
So the Robertson way.
Willie Robertson
Besides, just like what we said, when you start off a hitchhiker, at some point you probably go back to being a hitchhiker.
Al Robertson
So embrace it.
Phil Robertson
Either that or our shelf.
Willie Robertson
I wanted to give an overview.
Al Robertson
Okay. This is the man. I know.
Willie Robertson
She's busy making notes of places she.
Al Robertson
Has to side banging the table.
Willie Robertson
Edit this podcast, but. So in previous podcasts, we discussed the Son of Man. So I thought we should give this for all the people thinking, what's the big deal? So it's 1000. 1000. We've done 1100 podcasts. Well, in 1113, 1114, 1115, and 1118. That was 30. Yeah. You got a long way to go. We're way ahead of y'.
Phil Robertson
All.
Willie Robertson
So, look, you can hear what we're discussing, but just to give you a thumbnail of it, Jesus did declare himself mostly as two things. The Son of Man, which is 80 to 100 times, which is interesting, but he would do it, like, in the third person. The Son of Man came. Well, he is the Son of Man, so. And he would ask pertinent questions. There's. We did four podcasts about this, so you encourage you to go back and listen. And as I am. And there's seven Famous Ones, but there's a ton more. There's kind of subtle thing like Matthew 28, when he's like, go into the whole world and preach the gospel to all nations, baptizing them. Remember that. You're like, what's that got to do with the sun? I mean, the. I am. Well, at the very end, he's like, and surely I am with you always. To the very end of the age.
Phil Robertson
That's a more important statement than people remember.
Willie Robertson
Oh, it really.
Al Robertson
We linked it back to the Old Testament. I Am Moses burning bush.
Willie Robertson
Exactly. So. But the Son of Man, the reason that they all were familiar with that in the Israel community, they perked up. So think John 9. I did this off the top of my head in our Make Believe podcast the other day with Psy. I said, thank John 9, because you were kind of fascinated by that story that I told you. I was like, it's crazy that he healed a guy who didn't even believe in him. He just healed him. And then they asked him. They're like, who? Who is the guy who did this? He's like, I don't know.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. I ain't got no clue.
Al Robertson
And the only reason Jesus even noticed him, even though you knew he was going to do it, was because the disciples says, lord, who messed up that this guy is blind? Him or his parents. They had some bad theology. And then he winds up healing the guy who didn't even believe in him at all and didn't even know who Jesus was.
Willie Robertson
Well, so then the guy gets persecuted. So imagine this. This the first guy to get persecuted in the name of Jesus. Didn't even believe that he was the Son of God. He just thought, the guy healed me.
Al Robertson
So later, and every time they would ask who he is, he said, I don't know. He was the guy who healed me. I don't know who he is.
Phil Robertson
And look.
Willie Robertson
And guess what he was basically saying. And I don't care.
Al Robertson
I don't care. I can see.
Willie Robertson
All I know is I can see.
Jase Robertson
I'm good now.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
And I'm happy.
Al Robertson
Lower your mic a little bit.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah. Oh, Maddie, you can just tell him.
Al Robertson
You know what I'm saying?
Willie Robertson
Yeah. Don't point. He doesn't do well with charades.
Jase Robertson
No subtleties.
Al Robertson
Trust me. We tried to get to go get Doug. You can do all this all you want.
Phil Robertson
Say, idiot. Get your mic.
Willie Robertson
Bur if you want a bridge to nowhere. Just remember when we used to play charades and size guessing things that the human mind could not conceive? You're like, no.
Al Robertson
Maybe fish lips.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
I tried to tell them that one time. I said, if y' all want on Duck Dynasty, the Producers, I was like, if you want a funny bet, just play charades with psy. But they didn't want to do it because it was uncontrollable. I was like, you don't want to control it. Trust me.
Al Robertson
Whatever he says, he's the only man that's ever played charades. That was wrong 100% of the time. He never even swerved into A ride edge.
Jase Robertson
The Grapes of Wrath?
Al Robertson
No. Baby gorilla?
Willie Robertson
No.
Phil Robertson
That's a funny memory.
Al Robertson
These were good times.
Willie Robertson
So anyway, Jesus gets wind that he's being persecuted. This is the man born blind in John 9. And I'm going to read this. I quoted it to you, sir, in the Make Believe podcast. But Jesus heard this is John 9. 35, that they had thrown him out because they threw the guy out of the synagogue and they were hot at him. And when he found him, he said, now this is the same guy he had just healed that basically said, I don't know who he was and don't care. I can see. He asked him this question, which we're doing a little bit through John, about profound questions that Jesus asked.
Al Robertson
We're up to about a dozen questions.
Willie Robertson
We spent four podcasts on this one question. He asked that the guy that he had healed. Do you believe in the Son of man? Do you believe in the man?
Phil Robertson
Well, and I know his answer.
Willie Robertson
So his answer is, who is he?
Phil Robertson
Who is the son of who is the man?
Willie Robertson
It also implies that he had heard of this individual.
Al Robertson
That's right.
Willie Robertson
This mysterious individual who would come and redeem Israel, tell me so that I may believe in him. And then Jesus said, you have now seen him. In fact, he is the one speaking with you.
Al Robertson
That's pretty good. And the irony is, he couldn't see.
Willie Robertson
Until Jesus healed him, until he met.
Phil Robertson
The Son of Man.
Al Robertson
Oh, now that you can see, you're.
Jase Robertson
Looking at him, you're looking at him.
Willie Robertson
Which then implies something there. Jesus is saying, which is I am he, which goes with the other instance that he refers to himself. So before I go down this quick rabbit hole on how had this guy heard of the Son of Man? Well, maybe I should do that first. So the most famous passage in the Old Testament in Jewish history that they were all familiar with was Daniel 7:13. I want to read it. And we went through that on one of those podcasts that I rattled awful ago. So it says in my vision, Daniel saw a vision. He looked. And there before me, this is Daniel 7:13 was one. Like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven, he approached the ancient of days, which is a phrase given about the Father, God, the Father, the Creator. As far as that role, we get it. God is the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. But at this time, they don't understand that, nor should they. And even us today, even we know that and have trouble wrapping our head around how a being can be 1 and 3 and 3. But they're 1. So then it says he was given this one before him, like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven, he was given authority, glory. There's that word, sovereign power. All peoples and nations and men of every language worshiped him. So he sees this vision about future occurrences. His dominion or power is an everlasting or eternal dominion, power, realm that will not pass away. And his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. So that's why everybody was familiar with that, because they're like, if you're from Israel, one day there's a son of some creature, like a son of man coming from heaven by the authority of the Yahweh God, the creator, and he's going to set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. Well, if you're a human being, that's appealing. Would you like to be a part not only of a kingdom, but a kingdom that will never end? We're talking what, which is hard to believe.
Jase Robertson

Al Robertson
And we talked about it, that it was actually, they would have been perked up in the first century because it was going to come in this fourth kingdom that was. That sounded a lot like the kingdom they were dealing with in the moment being Rome. Well, right. So, you know, they were on. Everybody's on edge. We're under occupation. Rome is here. Somebody's going to come deal with these Romans. That's the way they're viewing it.
Willie Robertson
Because when you read Daniel 2, you get that picture. So I think we're caught up on that. But what I did want to say is I discovered something last night, actually, that we read over and we missed. Al. Because if you do a search, yeah, this is something you miss, but I think you're going to find this fascinating. I did last night. If you do a search on whatever engine as they call, they'll say that Jesus only referred to himself as the son of man, or I am. However, they say, well, it is implied that he referred to himself as the son of God because of the I am. However, I actually found a place where it's more of an implication that he claimed to be the son of God. And we just read it and we didn't make mention of it, so we should have. And this is John 11 in the beginning of the story of Lazarus in verse 4. I'll just read it.
Al Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Willie Robertson
When he heard this, which what he had heard was, the one you love is sick. And we did this whole thing about love from verse six, which is the overarching motivation of God's plan, the Son of Man. That came with the plan. The plan was God's love expressed to the human family to redeem them. But watch what four says. This sickness will not end in death. Now, here's the verse. No, it is for God's glory. There's that word again. So that God's Son or the Son of God may be glorified through it. Well, who's he talking about?
Al Robertson
What I'm saying. Yep.
Willie Robertson
So there is. I would call that more an implication, which, by the way. So then I went and looked. If he ever made another statement that says that Son of God, I couldn't find one. There are some other implications, I guess. I had a list of about three of them. So you got John 11, 4, John 8, 58. That's one everybody's familiar with.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Al Robertson
I am.
Willie Robertson
Jesus said, I tell you the truth. Jesus answered before Abraham was born. I am. But that's the I am phrase. But what's he saying there?
Al Robertson
Yeah, he's saying he's on level with Yahweh.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
If you're before Abraham, there's a level. So here's another one. 10:30. I don't remember what that said, but.
Al Robertson
I want to say about the sheep. Right.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. 10:30. Oh, I and the Father are one. Well, that's more than an implication. If you and the Father are. Are one. There's some kind of God connection there.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And to the point of the blind guy, when you've seen me, you've seen the Father.
Willie Robertson
Well, and he says that again in John 14. That's the last one I want to read. John 14. 7. Let me read that one. Because remember, he said, I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. But this statement in verse seven is really complex. But think about what he's saying. He says, if you really knew me, you would know my Father. So think about that as well from now on. You do know him and have seen him.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, that's what I was trying to say while ago about the man. Yeah, okay. Jesus referred to himself as the Son of Man. Yeah, okay. And said. Okay. The hour is up on me to be glorified. Okay, That's. That takes me back. Okay. You know, after they killed him three days later, he rose from the dead. The Father raised him. Yeah, the one and only. Okay. Because now, as we read further from verse, you know, 23.
Willie Robertson
Well, let's just.
Phil Robertson
Let's just.
Willie Robertson
Let's just read. Let me read that.
Jase Robertson
Jason, let me ask you something. What was that verse in John 14, John 14, 7.
Willie Robertson
He's basically saying, because I want to see me, you've seen the Father. Because the reason I'm making such a big deal about this is I wanted to say this to kind of put it all together. The whole reason they're not recognizing Jesus and he's saying, I'm the Son of man. I'm. This one implied in Daniel 7 and in Ezekiel. And I'm setting up the kingdom, remember? Because what's the first thing he said in Mark's account? The time has come. The kingdom is at hand. The king is here, is basically what.
Al Robertson
He'S saying, which is fixing to happen in 12 when he comes into this.
Willie Robertson
Well, the whole reason I'm making a big deal of it is because I don't know where the verse is in the Old Testament. You may know off the top of your head, but their concept was all these verses in the Old Testament says, you can't see God. If you do, you'll die. Remember the whole story with Moses, he got in a crevice, you know? So Jesus is saying something that's the exact opposite of what they were led to believe. Well, you can't see God or you'll die.
Jase Robertson
But you're looking at Him.
Willie Robertson
Well, he just said, you see him because you're looking at him.
Phil Robertson
Here's the thing, going back to the mission. The Father gave Jesus the mission. Okay? Jesus came and fulfilled the mission. And then on John 12, the rest of the time is Jesus is telling everybody about, hey, the one that gave me the command, sent me.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
And look, and that's why I said.
Phil Robertson
When you're talking about a man here, okay, that has done all this.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, he was in the. He was there in the beginning. He spoke things into existence. But in 1418, it says, I'm not going to leave you like a bunch of orphans. And then it says, because I live, you will also live. And on that day, you will realize that I am in the Father and you are in me, and I am in you.
Phil Robertson
No, no. And then, then you go further. Okay, you start saying, okay, the Father loves us. Not to send the Son. The Son loved us in obedience till the Father came. Okay. But then when he departed, he said, hey, stay here. I'm sending somebody to you. He sent the Spirit. That's the one thing.
Al Robertson
Okay, well, just imagine too Si. That one of the things I love about this passage you're talking about, and you're right, Jason. Let me just read it, because I want to make a comment about the humanity level, which is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, this one in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus says, the hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified, which is what size has been talking about. And he just says it clearly, this is the mission. I tell you the truth. Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. So he's telling you exactly what's got to happen.
Phil Robertson
Yep.
Al Robertson
If we're going to have people that live forever, it's going to start with me.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, I'm going to start it.
Al Robertson
The man who loves his life will lose it. And the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. So it's an upside down. You lose your life to gain eternal life, which is what happens for all of us. Whoever serves me must follow me. And where I am my servant will also be to your point, Philip, in John 14, my father will honor the one who serves me. So he's saying, I'm the leader of this. Now, check this verse out, because this shows you. This is one of the beautiful pictures of the Son of Man. Now my heart is troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? No, it is for this very reason, this very moment to this hour, Father, glorify your name. Now he says that that shows you his humanity in the picture because he's admitting it's a troubling situation to face down torture and death.
Phil Robertson
Well, that's yelling to man.
Al Robertson
Exactly. And he says the same thing. Hebrews 2, which you mentioned earlier. He suffered. He was tempted, like us, in every way. And then when he gets in the garden, you remember he's anguished. And Luke says in Luke 22, there were drops of sweat, like blood. Like blood in it, I mean, which is a condition to be. You talking about trouble?
Phil Robertson
No, no.
Al Robertson
And so it shows you his humanity in a unique way, I think, of understanding. I mean, he is fully human, even though he is fully God, which is so amazing.
Willie Robertson
So I had a. I had a thought last night that was One of those thoughts where you're like, yes, that hit me. Now, look, this is deep. And I've never heard anybody about that.
Jase Robertson
I can't wait.
Al Robertson
But I think, I'm sure I've already thought of it because I think the.
Willie Robertson
Reason we know this is exciting, that Jesus became a man. He said, you know, if you've seen me, you've seen the Father. But here's, here's the part that you're like, yes. And then I'm going to prove it to you with a couple passages. When Jesus became a man and then he did what he did, he died, was raised, just like the Daniel seven. He then became one, the only one who had all authority in heaven, on earth. But when he come back. When he came back, well, he came back still a man. And you say, well, wait a minute now. Remember when he said, look at my hands and my feet. But he's a glorified. That John 12:23 says, now it's time for me to be glorified. He's a glorified human. But if he's part of the Godhead, which is hard to explain, we've already said he's now fused humanity into that. And I want to read a passage about this that makes you. This is hard for your brain to comprehend. But in First Corinthians 15, when he talks about the resurrection and says Christ was the first fruits, then, because what are we talking about here? He said, unless a kernel of wheat dies, he's using that it can produce many things.
Al Robertson
Same language Paul uses in first Corinthians.
Willie Robertson
Same language here. And then when you get to First Corinthians 15, even when he later talks about the resurrected bodies, you don't plant the seed that will be. It has a different form. But it's raised, but it's still a body. It's like when you plant wheat. We all know what wheat looks like. If you put a bunch of it in a dove field, there's going to be a lot of duck. We know that it's shiny, but once.
Al Robertson
It starts, eternal corn produces a green stalk within it.
Willie Robertson
Well, now there's a green. Just think wheat. Well, then the doves not coming in because they can't. They're not eating that grass. They wanted that while it's a seed, but it's still. We call it wheat. Well, he's still a human and he's forever a human and God, correct, which that broke this barrier of us one seeing God, because now he destroys that barrier.
Phil Robertson
Now we can look at him we.
Willie Robertson
Can look at him. That's why he's in the presence of God. He's a human. So I want to read this in 1 Corinthians 15. So then it says, but each in his own turn. Christ's first fruits. Then when he comes, those who belong to him, well, we're going to be like him. Well, that's why when he ate fish, post resurrection. Well, what is that all about? Humans eat fish, you know. And he's doing it now not because he has to stay alive, because he's. He's eternal, but he's a. He's a glorified human. He's broken this separation down. So then it says, but each in his own turn. Then when he comes, those who belong to him, then the end will come when he hands over the kingdom, which we just read in Daniel 7, that the son of man would be right. The son of a human would provide and have all this authority. And so then the kingdom is handed over to the Father. So this is the kingdom. Well, what is that? All these people who are again, subject to the king.
Phil Robertson
Again the three. One. Yeah.
Willie Robertson
So I want to read this because this is fascinating. After he is destroyed, all dominion, authority and power, which again goes Back to Daniel 7, he has all this authority. But here's what I found fascinating. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. So we all focus on the enemies. Well, what are these enemies? The evil one. Death, sin, fear of death, selfishness, all of this. But you know what? You know what we've missed? He still has feet under his feet. He forever became a human. And I think that's fascinating because the reason that they couldn't see him, because you're going to get to these controversial passages that people don't know what to do with and false doctrine runs rampant on because they. They're looking at him and they don't believe it. You're like, well, how could they not believe it? He's doing all these things because they. They had ingrained in their mind, can't see God. And he's saying, if you're looking at me, you're seeing God. Most people are like, yes, God became a man. They're like, nope, can't happen.
Phil Robertson
No, don't say that. I tell people that all the time. Okay? And I said, the reason you don't believe is that you've never seen him. You've. You haven't personally met him or you haven't seen him do something. The Robertson family has been blessed. We've seen him do something. I hadn't personally seen him. Okay, But I've seen him. We've said a prayer up to him on the child that was ate up with cancer. And the next thing that happened is Phil likes to go, wow. Yeah, it's gone.
Willie Robertson
That was a loud sound effect.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no, but I'm just saying.
Willie Robertson
But you're right. So what, that you're going the same direction I was, which is Jesus made God visible. Well, look, then he gave us his spirit. He poured out his spirit, which is now part of this dynamic of God being three that humans are now welcome to be involved in, which is why.
Al Robertson
It'S called a deposit.
Willie Robertson
When you surrender to Jesus the king and you get the spirit, guess what you do on this earth? You now make him visible, which is what psy say. They're like, well, if you could just. If I could just see him, then I would do it. And then you're supposed to say, well, watch me, because I'm gonna live like you.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no, because I've got to say this. Okay, okay. Yeah. You know, if. You know, everybody was. So when it was happening, how are you doing these wonderful things you're doing? By what authority? Well, hey, I always go back. When you minister the word authority, what was the first thing Jesus said after he rose from the dead?
Jase Robertson
All authority and been given to me.
Phil Robertson
Look over here, man. Look in these eyes.
Willie Robertson
He actually didn't say jack.
Phil Robertson
I'm putting emphasis on it. The man said, hey, look at me. Okay? Y' all asked me one time, by what authority am I doing this? Okay? I've been given all authority, and that's what I want the people to get.
Al Robertson
No, you're right.
Phil Robertson
Read 12 John 12. And if you can't believe in Jesus, man, I pity you.
Al Robertson
All right, so, okay.
Phil Robertson
Cause there's too much proof, okay, that he is who he says he is. He's done what he will do past, present, future. Yeah, okay. You're talking about the man, for crying.
Al Robertson
Out loud, all the way around. So we become the man as well. Which. Which he says here in John 12. Because then we get. Remember Smith used to teach virtue? Then it's 15, Phil. And he would say it. He would hold his forearm, he'd say it. Your body is sown, you know, perishable.
Willie Robertson
But it.
Al Robertson
The body is raised, turned into imperishable. Exactly. So he talked about the bodily resurrection. So one last thing. Because we didn't have a chance to get here, I knew it was going to be like this.
Phil Robertson
Wow.
Al Robertson
We're out of town yet? No way. So. So the Greeks come in, which we didn't even get into right before this. And so I did. I was looking up. I thought, why did they ask Philip first? It was just one of those little rabbit holes Jace does. And so I looked it up, you know, I said, what is Philip? So Philip. It was a Greek name. Philip. So you were one in the podcast. So it means the lover of horses.
Jase Robertson
And that's got to be close because I run around with a donkey.
Al Robertson
Exactly. Do you love horses?
Phil Robertson
Don't belittle the donkey. Jesus rolled on one, buddy. There you go.
Al Robertson
And I said that. So then Andrew, who's another Greek name, means manliness. So those were the two that brought the Greeks. So it took me down a rabbit hole. And I'm going to close with this because I don't want to at least say this out loud. I thought I never looked up what the word Silas meant. We got two Silas on Saturday. And I thought I'd never. And it's a biblical name because, remember, you had Paul and Silas. So I looked it up. Silas. Now, it's. It's two things. One is the most famous one is a Latin name, is from Sylvanus. So Silas is short for Sylvanus. It means man of the forest.
Willie Robertson
Si. We're men of the forest. My name is Silas.
Phil Robertson
That's pretty good.
Al Robertson
So that fits. And then I thought, what about the Hebrew? Because I know there was a Hebrew. Silas. Well, it comes from Saul, and it means to be prayed for. So I thought you two need a lot of prayer because you're men of the forest.
Willie Robertson
So that is troubling, because a lot of bad things happen in the wilderness.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no, but I had, you know, the other day, was thinking about Phil. Okay. And I. And I said to someone, I said, well, when he first become a Christian, he hid out on the river.
Al Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
And he actually did.
Al Robertson
John the Baptist found the wilderness.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. Yeah. He spent his time in the wilderness, and that's where he came to really know the Creator.
Al Robertson
That's right.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
True statement, you know, and that's true.
Al Robertson
People found him just like they found.
Phil Robertson
John when they run up on him and they heard the same thing. John gave up. Okay. John the Baptist, Okay. He's always gonna share his gospel with you. But, you know, I just. I knew I was gonna, you know, that's. You done? Just what I did. Wait a minute. We're done. I'm just getting started. Unbelievable.
Al Robertson
So you brought it all the way back around. Si. We Always love it when you're on Philip. We love it when you join. Philip is always is a longtime friend. Since you were a teenager.
Willie Robertson
And Phil's conversion has been documented. But we literally met on the side of the road.
Jase Robertson
Well, see, I knew Jason high school because he would take everybody's money in the Locke. Did he still take in the equipment room? That's why I didn't like him.
Al Robertson
Well, back then, I repented for some.
Willie Robertson
Of the ways I was taking them. Now I'm a man of honor and integrity.
Al Robertson
We are following the footsteps of the Son of Man. Size. A good study. Thank you for bringing this full board.
Phil Robertson
Here's the deal, folks. Leave with this, okay? You need to look up the Son of man and actually establish a personal relationship with him, because guess what? He was glorified. He rose to the father bodily flesh and blood.
Al Robertson
And he said, jack.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Well, you need a new. We'll close with this. I have a new saying.
Al Robertson
Everybody's closed.
Willie Robertson
You need to say, hey, Jack and Jill, because what about the women? I think it would make. It would be a more worldly statement.
Phil Robertson
Y' all need to see the man.
Al Robertson
Hey, Jack and Jill, go see the man on Unashamed.
Jase Robertson
Unbelievable.

Podcast Summary: Unashamed with the Robertson Family
Episode: Ep 1133 | Uncle Si Wrecks Willie’s Bridge & Jase Wonders if ‘Silas’ Means Bad Driver in Greek
Release Date: July 25, 2025
In Episode 1133 of Unashamed with the Robertson Family, hosts Phil, Al, Jase, and Willie Robertson delve deep into theological discussions while interweaving heartfelt family stories and humorous anecdotes. This episode, titled “Uncle Si Wrecks Willie’s Bridge & Jase Wonders if ‘Silas’ Means Bad Driver in Greek,” offers a rich blend of faith-based insights and the Robertson family’s signature humor, providing listeners with both spiritual nourishment and relatable moments.
The episode kicks off with Phil Robertson expressing enthusiasm about participating in another podcast session after a recent appearance on Bill Jordan’s podcast. Al Robertson welcomes listeners back, setting a warm and engaging tone for the episode. The family reflects briefly on their recent interactions, setting the stage for the deeper discussions to follow.
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to unpacking the biblical terms "Son of Man" and "Son of God." Phil initiates the conversation by referencing his sermon at an event in San Quentin, emphasizing the importance of understanding Jesus’s dual identity.
Phil Robertson shares insights:
“When it says, 'the Son of Man is to be glorified,' I realized it wasn't solely about the Son of God completing the mission, but the Son of Man.” (04:59)
The family discusses the frequency of the term "Son of Man" in the Bible, noting its occurrence 80 to 100 times, compared to fewer mentions of "Son of God." Willie Robertson contributes by highlighting how Jesus often referred to Himself in the third person, reinforcing the distinction and connection between His human and divine roles.
Willie Robertson elaborates:
“Jesus declared Himself as the Son of Man to fulfill His mission, bridging the understanding between His humanity and divinity.” (06:05)
Transitioning from theological discussions, the Robertson family shares a lighthearted story about Uncle Si wrecking Willie’s bridge. This anecdote serves as a moment of levity amidst the deeper conversations, showcasing the family’s bond and ability to find humor in everyday mishaps.
Al Robertson reminisces:
“We all started out in the same bed together and didn’t know who was peeing the bed every night because it could have been any of us.” (15:05)
Jase Robertson adds humorously about the bridge incident:
“When someone tried to drive a truck across a bridge meant for golf carts, it basically tore up his truck.” (19:18)
The conversation shifts back to profound biblical studies, focusing on Daniel 7:13 and John 9. The family dissects these passages to elucidate Jesus’s mission and His role in fulfilling Old Testament prophecies.
Willie Robertson reads and interprets Daniel 7:13:
“'And behold, with the clouds of heaven, there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days.' This was a vision of Jesus establishing an everlasting kingdom.” (32:34)
Phil connects this to the miracles of Jesus, particularly the healing of the blind man in John 9. He emphasizes that Jesus’s identity as the Son of Man was crucial for His mission to redeem humanity.
Phil Robertson asserts:
“Jesus became flesh, deity in human form, to fulfill His mission of redemption.” (10:03)
The Robertson family delves deeper into the theological implications of Jesus’s resurrection and His eternal nature. They reference First Corinthians 15 to discuss the transformation from mortality to immortality, drawing parallels between physical resurrection and spiritual rebirth.
