Jase Robertson
I am unashamed. What about you?
Zach Dasher
Welcome. That threw me off. There's that. Zach tried to imitate Maddie's countdown. I did good. Quite there. It's. It's okay.
Phil Robertson
I think.
Zach Dasher
Not quite there. She's got the melody of it better. She does. So we were talking about on the last podcast when we kicked off, about last week being a tough week in terms of we were doing a lot of recording and there were a couple of things that we didn't mention. We talked about a lot of stuff. But Jace, you and I had two different projects that we were working in this midst of podcasts. We were doing everything else that was kind of crazy going on at Dell Commander. I. I'll tell you about mine in a minute, but tell me about you. So you did. I am second.
Jase Robertson
Oh, okay.
Zach Dasher
Which is.
Jase Robertson
I wasn't sure what I did.
Zach Dasher
Yeah, you did. I am second. And I think sigh. And Bobby, who we call Bobby, which is Lil Will, who's not so little. He's a big guy. They were also featured in this project. So, you know, those of you that know many of our family members have done this, I am second. And I've told you before about my experience. It really. I can't wait to hear Jesus. Because it's. It's something I've never. Because the way they film it, it's like super dark and you have this bright light on you and it's like you're being questioned from the wilderness. There's a guy like out in the. You can't see him and he's like asking you questions. Jason, what was that like for you? It was a really surreal experience for me, but I felt like it helped me do better. I don't know.
Jase Robertson
But. Well, Zach had asked me to do something to do with a re release of the blind. You know, it's like, it's kind of weird when you die. People talk about you more than they did when you were alive.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Which is one of the things you see like with my dad and I think you just. I mean, I've been doing more Phil sayings in the last couple months. Yeah, I mean, you added it as.
Zach Dasher
A segment on the podcast.
Jase Robertson
Well, today's line, because I just got a text while you were talking this. While I was distracted. I'll put away my phone after I do this. But I literally heard Phil's voice, because I got a text after I watched a video. We're planning the duck hole.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
But we're doing it with a drone. Because we've had a problem through the years. Because in Louisiana, you think, well, in the summertime, it gets hot and dry. Well, not in Louisiana. It rains every day.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
I mean, it feels like we're in some kind of tropical, weird world. It's 98 degrees, and then it rains. And if they say it's not going to rain, it's going to rain. Yeah, they say it's going to rain. It's not. They can't figure it out. But it's hard to plant because just it won't dry up. There's muck. It's just. It's rough. And so my dad battled that for years. Well, if he only knew that one day you could plant with a drone. Yeah, man, that's something.
Zach Dasher
Because, you know, Jay's.
Jase Robertson
He.
Zach Dasher
He sampled this about five years ago. They hired a plane to come by and drop it. But. But the problem was twofold. One, that's a little bit of a expensive, you know, and not only that, it doesn't quite hit the mark, like, you know, planted. It got in the woods. It went everywhere.
Jase Robertson
Oh, I remember that argument between my dad and my mom, because the argument started when my dad said, I don't care what it costs. We're planting that swamp. So. But I. So we got it planted, and you think, oh, everything's great. Well, we had to replant, because I just got this text that said two words, no worms. When I heard that, I could hear my dad's voice say, now we're cooking with peanut oil, because he planted everything. No worms is good for the human body and for your crops. Because we planted everything with a drone. It was beautiful. And then two days later, they went out and looked at the beautiful grass, and the army worms had moved in and ate about a third in two days of what was planted. Isn't that something? Wow. And so they had no worms that we had to move the worms to a different location.
Zach Dasher
And then worms harmed in the relocating of those.
Jase Robertson
Well, none of them except the ones that were in the wrong field.
Phil Robertson
You want earthworms, that you do want earthworms.
Jase Robertson
These aren't earthworms. These are like, they look like little caterpillars, little grubs. And there are tens of millions of them. So. And they, they can eat all your, all your crowds. Common problem. So yeah, we got that going. But so back to the I am second. You know, I'm going to tell you a weird thing. So I knew some of the members of my family had done some I am second videos, including my son. And of course they never asked me because I have a weird testimony. These people usually follow a grid. I'm just speculating here, but it's Al like you always say, you know, when you were working on your testimony. Well, people don't ask me for my testimony because number one, I'm pretty clear about. I share, you know, God's story, not mine, which I think everyone should agree with that. But we're all different. And in Luke 15, I was kind of the older brother. I responded to our childhood trauma Al differently than you did. But it's a problem because the evil one and just the nature of things, you know, he can get you with self gratification, with various sins and pleasures, but he can also get you with pride. And that was kind of my response to that, to my childhood. I just thought, I'm not doing this because I'm better than you. That was kind of my mantra and sounds great and it keeps you out of a lot of trouble. But it's really hard to humble yourself in Jesus when you have that kind of attitude. So I was kind of nervous about how that was going to come across. I said, you probably have never heard this type of testimony because we did the thing for the movie, Zach. They said it went well and you know, it's kind of. They make it kind of intimidating. There was an army of people.
Phil Robertson
Oh, there was a crew here. I saw it. I just saw a cut of it, which I love. Said that if you watch the blind the first time, there's the end of the movie is there's like a little special content with Phil. And so Fathom called and we're like, hey, we want to re release the blind for just like a little five day run. But we want people to have an opportunity to really. Because there's such an outcry for the movie after Phil's passing and this, all the testimonies. In fact, I had a guy come to church this Sunday at our church and he came up to me and I was talking to somebody else. I Could tell. Like, he was just like, wait. He was sitting there looking at me. And he looked like he was on the verge of just breaking down in tears. And so I started to talk with him, and his voice was quivering, and he said, can I talk to you for a second privately?
Jase Robertson
And I was like, yeah.
Phil Robertson
So we kind of went off into the corner there and he. Somebody listened to the show. He watched the Blind and just started. I mean, as soon as he sat down, he just unloaded. Just tears of how much Phil's testimony in life had meant to him and was the reason why he came to Christ and was baptized in the last six months. And it just. I mean, there's so many people who. Who. Who have. Who had that same story. And so Fathom was like, yeah, we want to. We'd love to bring this back, but we. We, you know, want to get another special piece of content. So we're playing something I think is really cool. You haven't even seen it yet, Jace, because you sat in there for how you recorded for several hours.
Jase Robertson
I did because I did two things, which is typical. Zach. He asked me to do that, which took. No, that 30 minutes.
Phil Robertson
That was all. The other that was on them. That my part was my part.
Jase Robertson
I didn't have anything then. The old line, since we have you.
Phil Robertson
Here, that wasn't me. But it is a good. I mean, like, these guys are. I Am Second's an incredible ministry.
Zach Dasher
It's funny. Is that. Because you think about it, Jason was just talking about. And I'm so glad he told his perspective because it will impact people that. That have similarities to him. But think about their name. I Am Second. What does that even mean? That means that somebody else is first.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Zach Dasher
And so that's the whole point.
Jase Robertson
I think I made him nervous because when. Yeah, after it was over, I mean, three and a half hours, the guy who was the producer, because what would happen was, you know how any production goes. Yeah. The producer sits down and he's like, now, here's what we're thinking. And he talked. Well, then when the camera started rolling, I did nothing about what was just discussed.
Phil Robertson
I should have warned him, there's no wrangling around here, boys.
Jase Robertson
Well, he never said a word. Look, he would go. We'd go for like, 30 minutes. He'd sit down, he would go through this thing. And then. I wasn't doing it on purpose. I just. I was just kind of going by the Holy Spirit here. And he said, well, that. So after it was over, he said, jase, I gotta Tell you, that's the first self produced I am second program we've ever done. And I thought. I didn't really realize what he meant by that until I left.
Phil Robertson
Well, I asked them how it went and they said it was great. It was self produced. And I was like, I interpreted that to mean that Jace produced it on his own. He just came in here.
Jase Robertson
Well, since I'm second, I would say it was God produced and God produced, hopefully the Lord will use it. But I think I made him nervous because I said, look, I am second. Which from my view and my journey to coming to Christ meant I'm with everybody else. And they were just kind of looking at me. I'm like, that's a powerful statement for me to say because my biggest struggle was allowing to have joy in other people and to be concerned because that was kind of the way the evil one used the temptation. For me, it's like you can do the right thing the wrong way.
Phil Robertson
Yep.
Jase Robertson
And at the end of the day, you're alienated, alone, you know, cut off, and you're not. God is not using you for, for anything except, you know, to be bitter or point out people's fault. So that was the. That was kind of the main thrust of it. So it was kind of a therapy session.
Phil Robertson
So. You guys ever heard the phrase if it ain't broke, don't fix?
Jase Robertson
Well, the problem is, even if it was broken, I'm not sure I could fix it because I'm not very good at fixing things.
Phil Robertson
It is a problem. I'm the kind of guy that I like to get the last drop of life out of something that I buy. But. And that's not. And that's good advice for most things, but not when it comes to cell phones. So fortunately, thanks to PureTalk, your cell phone is something that you can replace without feeling guilty about it. When you switch to PureTalk this month, this is what they're going to do. They're going to give you a free Samsung Galaxy, a 36 phone with a $35 qualifying plan, just 35 bucks a month for talk, text and data, and a free Samsung Galaxy phone with scratch resistant gorilla glass, which I need because I drop my phone all the time, and a battery that lasts all day long. And here's the best part. It's all on America's most dependable 5G network. People ask me all the time, do you really use pur Talk? Yes, I do. I'm telling you, the coverage is second to nine. I love these guys because they really do care about veterans.
Jase Robertson
They.
Phil Robertson
They donated $50,000 to scholarships to support veteran learning trades after these guys get out of active duty. They're also helping to eliminate veteran debt and they're raising money to end veteran suicide. So make the switch today. In as little as 10 minutes, go to puretalk.com unashamed to get your free phone today. Again, that's puretalk.com unashamed to switch to my wireless company, America's wireless company, PureTalk. It's gonna be good. I mean, if you want to see it. And I. My what I hope happens. If you know someone who is like not going to walk into church building. I think it's August 31st is the release. We're just going to be like four or five days and we'll have all this information up on the blind movie.com so you can go to the website and sign up if you did. If you sign up for emails the last time, I think you'll probably still get the email, but you can sign up for emails and we'll give you all the info. But I hope people will just find somebody who won't walk in a church building.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
And then take them to watch the movie. And at the end of it, you'll get to see a little don't leave when the credits start rolling. Don't leave. Yeah, that's. We got a little special thing that we film with Jace out there, which.
Zach Dasher
And I just want to give a shout out time second the crew there because Angie and the crew because they partnered with us on that first bite with dad at the end.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Zach Dasher
And it was tremendous. And now they've done the same thing with Jay. So they're a great partner.
Phil Robertson
Well, let me tell you something else that's interesting about them that I'm praying on. Y unashamed nation. Y' all can pray on this, too. So they're part of a larger. I didn't know this, but they're part of a larger nonprofit organizations. That organization that.
Jase Robertson
One of the things.
Phil Robertson
Their core competencies of what they do. I just. I was. We're having dinner, the guys telling me this. I'm like, that's wild. Because I talked to them about maybe handling some of the responses of people who want to have further discussion, you know, about coming to Christ. And because we don't have. We don't have the bandwidth to do it personally. And they were like, yeah, we'd love to do that. But they also train people in how to start house churches. And I thought, how crazy is that? So I'M talk, I'm praying with them and talking to them about potentially even maybe, maybe figuring out how we can work together on. On Getting Unashamed Day. Because a lot of people that, you know, a lot of you guys that listen to the show have asked us, how do I start a house church? How do I do that and so be interesting to see what the Lord does there?
Zach Dasher
That's awesome.
Jase Robertson
Well, let me tell you a weird thing that happened. I have more to this story. So the next day, I was trying to rest up after a long day of filming, and I get a text from a guy who I met in a green room in New York. I was fixing to go on Fox Business and talk about our Duck Family Treasure show. And it was a strange question. I'd seen this guy on TV before because now just picture me. And for the. For those of you watching, I mean, I have a sort of a camouflage shirt on, the beard is doing what it does, and I'm sitting in the green room of kind of the stock show with all these people who look nothing like me. And so the guy just couldn't help but ask the question. Even though I had recognized him from tv. He's like, hey, man, what are you doing here? It was a really good question, if you think about it. Because I'm in a green room, he realizes I'm fixed to go out here.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
It's like how he just couldn't help it. He had to ask that question, which I thought I was kind of being a victim of facial profiling here and just.
Phil Robertson
But he knew who you were, right?
Jase Robertson
He knew who I was. But it's like, why are you on this show? And so I said, well, I'm promoting our Family Treasure show. And he's like, yeah, but how did you get on this show? He just wanted to know. And I said, well, they asked me which shows I wanted to do and I said, well, you know, I do my own investing. And I said, so I'll fill all questions about that. I said. He said, well, what did they say when you said that? I said, oh, they busted out laughing. Next thing I know, I'm booked. And they actually asked me some questions about it.
Phil Robertson
Which look of all, did you hold your own? I'm just curious. On the show, I'll tell you this.
Jase Robertson
They actually had me come back during Christmas time and I did a segment about. I think I named it, I self produced that, by the way, Zach, because they said, well, we'll talk about the show. And I was like, well, I want to give my fellow listeners some gifts. And so I had, you know, they do this thing about the Magnificent Seven stocks.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
And everybody. That's what they talk about, especially at that time. So I gave the Mary. What was it called? The Mary 5. And I gave five stocks that had outperformed the Magnificent 7 in the last five years. And I said, I recommend these stocks that I own. And so I wish we can roll. We could roll back to when I gave that. Because if you would have bought those five stocks that I recommended, you'd be a very rich man right now. I'm just saying. I got it. I got it, right.
Phil Robertson
What if your next career was. You were like. You were on cnbc, like a Kramer. I mean, could you think you.
Jase Robertson
I think I could do it.
Phil Robertson
Because you carry that kind of show.
Jase Robertson
Well, I could do it, but the problem is. I mean, not the problem. Let me scratch that. I think what I have going for me is when you see me, it's just like this guy. Your expectations are so low.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
But now I have actually something for that resume because I predicted those five companies was that. What. What month is this? It's July.
Phil Robertson
August.
Jase Robertson
I knew it was somewhere in between.
Zach Dasher
August.
Jase Robertson
September. Yeah, it's almost August.
Phil Robertson
So, yeah, it's August.
Jase Robertson
Pretty good run there on those little stocks. So I think it was interesting. It was clever. But what I was going to say is, yes, I could do that. But what I would tell people is, you need. Even though I'm very proud that I learned that skill, I tell people, you need to pay a financial advisor to do this because it's way harder than you think. It's way more complicated to explain. And if you don't have the right emotional makeup, you need to get away from it and let somebody else do it. It's very difficult. But anyway, so we kind of hit it off. Well, I started talking about Jesus. I was like, well, I'm not a gambler. That's why I follow Jesus. But I do know about the stock market. Well, we kind of formed a relationship because I was. I don't know why I was shocked, but he loved Jesus. And so I got his number, he got mine. Well, he sent me this text, not like we talk about a lot of things. The day after I did the I am second. I'm going to read you the text. I didn't ask his permission, but that's why I didn't give his name. But it says, we're at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. and we are seeing the white chair they use for the I am Second interviews. It has your mom and dad's signatures on the back of it. Pretty cool. Well, when I read it, it kind of made me overcome with emotion because I had just sat in the new white chair and I signed that chair. I didn't know there was already a chair that had been retired that had my dad's signature on it.
Zach Dasher
And by the way, and your son's and Jeps was on there too.
Jase Robertson
Well. And experiencing how intimidating it was. I think they do it for the mood. I mean, they may. I wasn't intimidated, but not because I'm, you know, think I'm special or something. I just thought, I kind of grinned and thought, boy, they're really. Yeah. Putting the spotlight on you here. I mean, you get, you get in a little cave. There's cameras and spotlights everywhere, and you're just in this chair. And they actually play music before you talk to like, create the mood. I mean, these people are all in on getting the mood right and what you're fixing to share. And so I just realized after that experience, it was, it was. I really felt in the moment, okay, God wants me to do this for him. And it, it's a. It's a. It's. Intimidating is a bad word. I don't know how to describe it.
Zach Dasher
I just said it was surreal. It was the only word I could come up with too. It's a very different thing, but. But it's very effective and powerful. And if you go and watch any of the videos of people, you'll. You'll recognize a lot of. There's a lot of sports people on there, a lot of musicians.
Jase Robertson
And of course, well, it's hard to be that vulnerable to that level.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
And yeah, I really think you. My tip for those of you who will ever do that is you really just. You got to do it for the Lord.
Zach Dasher
Yes, sir.
Jase Robertson
And just, just say, you know what? I'm nothing. And here it is. So I did it.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. We've been beating the summer heat with the Chef man pebble ice maker. We love it. Makes these little pebble sized ice. It's so soft and chewable. It makes just about any drink better. Well, you could still get the Flash Sale pricing right now, but the Flash sale, I'm here to tell you, it's gotten a lot flashier. Now. Zach Dasher
Jay is what's interesting. So. And you don't know this. I don't think that does either, but. So this whole week we've had all this going on and Jay's had that. And so it's just when you walked into Duck Commander headquarters, it just seemed like chaos because they were different film crews there. They're filming the show, the new revival show. They're filming Jason stuff, They're filming our stuff. We got podcast crews going in every room. Well, I had. Lisa and I had agreed to do some marriage videos for a group called Right Now Media. And it just so happened it's the same week. So looming on the last day of the week, I've got like six sessions that Lisa and I are going to do for these people that's going to be on there. They do video mainly for churches, but it's really interesting stuff. And their. Their stuff, their content is great. Willie's been on there, Sadie's been on there. A lot of other people in the family, but so they wanted to film outside. And I was like, they're from Atlanta and Florida. I thought they would do. I was like, you can't film outside in Louisiana, in. In July. It's just. We would all melt. It would be the worst thing that ever happened. So it's got to be indoors. But they wanted to do it out at mom and Dad's house. Well, I had not been back to their house since they moved out of there, and. And of course, then dad, you know, crossed over and mom hasn't been back either. And so I was kind of dreading going out there, to be honest with you. I mean, I just hadn't been back and, you know, and I knew that, like, the chair's gone, you know, in the corner back there. And so I walk in the house. But it turned out to be great because we filmed in the living room at mom and Dad's house. And it was so emotional for me, James, because I thought, you know, Lisa and I started dating in that room. Probably every one of us did. Our. Our wives, you know, started there. And so, like 40 years, you know, you think back over time. And so it was. And then looking at mom and Dad's relationship and, you know, just seeing how they grew in Christ. And so it was very. It turned out to be a fantastic, amazing experience. It was just. Lisa and I had a camera, and we gave six marriage sessions, including our story for this group. But it. I thought I would be, like, just rung out and tired and all that because the week had been so long and we had talked so much on podcasts and stuff. But it wasn't because of the setting. I think I was totally invigorated. And kind of ironically, the night before, a couple was. Was giving their testimony at our. At our Re Engage, which is at WFR on Thursday nights. And he had invited me to come. And I said, well, look, dude, it's a crazy week. I can't promise, but if I can come, I will. Well, I wasn't going to go, but then, like, two days before that, a young couple who's struggling said, you know, we really need to talk to you and Ms. Lisa. Is there any way we could do it? I said, well, I tell you what, meet me up at the church building on Thursday night. And I mean, this whole week has been insane and crazy. I was like, we'll talk. And so we heard that testimony. It was amazing, this couple. And then we sat down for two hours with this young couple, you know, and. And tried to help them through where they are, but all that was just God working. And you said it so well. You have to look at these things as opportunities, whether you're knee to knee with someone sharing Jesus, whether you're, in our case, with a young couple that's struggling with their marriage, or you have an opportunity. In our case, we get to film stuff that put it out there for other people. Because all this matters. Jay's is right. It's Jesus's story, but it's told through us. And when I. Zach, you think about the blind, that now the movie itself has become part of the storyline for so many people and they're coming to Christ to begin with. With. You mentioned the one guy, but I. I've heard at least a lot and.
Phil Robertson
I thought it was over. I was like, well, that's.
Jase Robertson
That was.
Phil Robertson
But I mean, the fact that fan called back up and it. It popped up on the top five of DV or top six DVD sales and streaming, you know, so, I mean, still have an impact. So I'd love to be a part of content that's telling the story of Jesus. You know, it's.
Zach Dasher
It's. I mean, it's.
Phil Robertson
It. A lot of it started right here on this podcast.
Zach Dasher
It did. And once again, just as I try to do this from time to time, because we want you as an audience to know we never take you for granted. We are super proud that you guys get behind all these different things we do, and thank you for that. Unashamed Nation is amazing. I mean, you kind of are our base point, and so that's why we love doing Bible study with you. And as Jay said this weekend, after all that, I didn't do anything Saturday. I just kind of bashed out. But by yesterday Sunday, I was right back into John and studying and loving every minute of it.
Jase Robertson
Well, I got two things I want to bring up on this John 13 where we're at. We left off. I promised this last podcast and didn't get to it. So my apologies. But when he starts in John 13, it was just before the Passover feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world. So that that time, the Greek word for that hour, we went through that a few podcasts ago, Remember in John 2 where he told his mom, my hour has not come? And we went through all the verses, but I found something noteworthy. There's two different words translated time in the Bible, so. Or in the New Testament. So the point I wanted to make was this is the same word that he used before, you know, the hour, the time. And we went.
Zach Dasher
Jayce, is it the same word that we did back in John 12?
Jase Robertson
John 12. Yep. Read that. The hours come. Same word.
Zach Dasher
So hours come for the Son of Man.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And it's translated hour or time, however. And since this at the end of the day is a Bible study, I want to share something that I found fascinating about this. And I want to read you from AI So take it for what it is. But I think they do a pretty good job when you ask them a question like this about the two different. The difference in the Greek words.
Zach Dasher
Used.
Jase Robertson
As it relates to time. And they are. I will give a terrible attempt at pronouncing these karos. K A I R O s and hora. H O R A. Well, this is the H O R A right here. And that's the one predominantly used. So the kairos is only used twice in John two different settings. And it's back in John seven. And I want to read this to you so it's not. Now, look, it's the same word. They can both be used as time, but they have different nuances to the meaning. Are y' all following me, Zach?
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Okay, so John 7. You remember that little conversation he had with the brothers? Yep. All right. Well, that's a different word for time. And I'll read it. So this is John 7. After this, Jesus went around in Galilee purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life. Well, which is interesting, because he came here to give his life. But he. We're going back to that John 10 passage. But he gave it by his own choosing. And it's. And it's weird because this is going to tie into this deal about God has put everything in his hands, and that word hands is all over John, because people are constantly trying to put their hands on him, to seize him and kill him. But he has the whole world given by God in his hands, and what he does with his hands are going to be extremely inspirational once we get there. But I just wanted to plant that seed. So verse 2 of 7. But when the Jewish feast of Tabernacles was near. Here we go again. Every time you see some kind of special occasion, Jesus shows up. His brother said, you ought to leave here, go to Judea so that your disciples may see miracles. So they're giving him advice, marketing advice. Verse 4. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. But we just said by Jesus washing the feet, that what you do in secret is what gets God's attention, which is fascinating, since you are doing these things. Show yourself to the world. For even his own brothers did not believe in him. So verse six, Jesus says, the right time for me has not yet come. Well, that's a different word. So you say, that's the kairos. So I think I've planted the seed enough to Say, well, what is the difference? So I want to read this. So in the Bible, this is AI overview. The Greek words kairos and horah both refer to time, but in distinct ways. Horah, which is the one used in John 12: Al and in John 13, Horah generally refers to a specific point or duration of time. Duh. It's like my hours not come. What does it mean? Well, the hour's not come. It's literally about. There's a time coming when this is going to happen.
Phil Robertson
So I've borrowed Al's granddaughter's car while.
Zach Dasher
I'm here, I told you, I said, zach needed a car. And I said, well, just come to our car lot and we'll find one.
Jase Robertson
That works for you.
Phil Robertson

Jase Robertson
Like an hour or a season. Which I thought is funny, you know, when people, because I made fun of that before the Christianese language about, oh, we're going through this season. Well, I'm fixed to give you give you some kairos on that season. Since I threw that under the bus, I'm going to give you a great response. When someone says, oh, we're going through a season. A good response, a kairos response is to say, well, what is the purpose of that season? Because listen to this. While kairos refers to a strategic, opportune or decisive moment, essentially horah is a clock time, while kairos is God's time or the right time for something to happen. So it has a significance to it. It's somewhere I read in it, it's like a time that's coming. Used illustration. Like the significance is like a woman being pregnant. What is the significance of her? The timing of that is that when that time comes, something profound is happening, like a human is entering the earth. So that's as good a job as I can do as explaining the differences. Now, what that means to us spiritually. I want to finish reading Roman. I mean, I want to finish reading John 7. So it said, the world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify what it does is evil. You go to the feast. I'm not yet going up to this feast because for me, the right time, there's that, that kairos has not come yet. But I think you already see that even in that, that his time is going to have something to do with taking on evil itself. You see what I mean? You see why he used that word? It's like you don't understand. For you, anytime is the right time because you're just thinking, oh, let's go here, let's go there. It's kind of like that passage in James, you know, what shall we do tomorrow? Shall we just go out and. But Jesus is saying, you don't understand what this time is all about. The time that's coming. I think that's fascinating. The only other time it's used in John is actually, I think, is interesting, but it illustrates what the word is, the hidden verse of John 5. And what I mean by hidden verse. Because if you read John 5, when you get to 3, it skips to 5 because there's some controversy about whether verse 4, which is not in the Bible, should be in the Bible. But if you find that in the margin it says. And you remember the story.
Zach Dasher
Yeah, that was the healing at the pool, where the guy.
Jase Robertson
The healing at the pool. Yeah. And the guy believed that if he got in the pool that an angel would stir the water. But. So I'll read it.
Zach Dasher
The timing had to be just right.
Jase Robertson
Well, well, that's Right, because think about the different word here, the kairos. What was the significance of that time? If you were the first in the water, you would be healed. Well, that time carries a little more weight because there's a purpose to the time. You follow me and so I'll read it from time to time. An angel of the Lord, which sounds like just something like we use that. Oh, from time to time I do that. But from that time to time, an angel of the Lord would come down and stir up the waters. The first one in the pool after each such disturbance would be cured of whatever disease he had. Well, being there at that time is life changing. Now I said all that.
Zach Dasher
And being mobile is also important.
Jase Robertson
I said all that to say, would you believe. I mean they're used about the same amount of times in the New Testament, 100. But that that Karrows use later really changes the meaning of, of when you're reading passages of scripture. And look, you can do it on your own time. It's real easy to look up the word, look up the Greek lexicon in the Bible hub, click on the Word and read all the times it's used. But it's, you know, almost 100 in both cases. But I just wanted to show you in Ephesians and I thought this was very powerful. So Ephesians 1:10, this is the Kairos. I'll read 9 and 10. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times kairos, the significance of, of the.
Phil Robertson
Time.
Jase Robertson
Will have reached their fulfillment to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. Well, when did that happen? When did that happen? When did God when he says, you may know the mystery which he purposed in Christ to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. I'll give you a hint. It's the one who had all this in his hands, the world, he pulled it off through his death, burial and resurrection. And going back to the Father, which.
Phil Robertson
Is what started John 13. Well, he said at the Great Commission, all authority on heaven and earth has been given to me. So you know that it had been at least, at the very least, you know that in that moment, post resurrection, pre ascension, so after the resurrection, before the ascension, Christ is claiming the authority of Daniel 7, when the son of man, the ancient of days, gave him the kingdom and all authority and dominion so we know that. We do know that. That. Not like. Yeah, I think it's after the resurrection, before the ascension. Well, he claimed to have had this.
Jase Robertson
I would say. Well, I'd make an argument to say it was the whole process that he started in John 13, going to the Father, because when he went to the Father, he poured out the Spirit, which he brings up in Ephesians 1:13. Well, he didn't do that by accident. You were.
Phil Robertson
I mean, I would. I would argue it started at his baptism in the Jordan river, when that's the start of his ministry.
Jase Robertson
Started when he. When he came out of that womb.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
I mean, as far as we're going to go back here, I think that's. That's splitting hairs. But my point is, I think most people look at time and they think, oh, at the end of the end of time, you know, Jesus is going to make all this right. But he made it right by doing what he did. And we get to participate in that now. And yes, ultimately, when we're raised bodily, it's kind of the now, not yet concept. It's totally fulfilled. But he used that as a point of reference. But I just want to show you the others. In Ephesians. So in Ephesians 2:12, watch what he says. He says, remember that at that time you were separate from Christ. So remember, this is the whole Jew Gentile deal. And it says, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ, Jesus Christ, you who were once far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. Well, that time, he. He. He said that was significant.
Zach Dasher

Jase Robertson
Well, look, there's more. Let me give you the cup, the last couple and then we can talk about it. But in 5, 16. Now this is where it really excited me. Well, now he's talking to us. What does this look like for people who are in Christ? The first three chapters basically look at what God has done in Christ. And he brought heaven and earth together. We have the Spirit. We're representing heaven. He's representing us in heaven. We're on earth. He brought it together under Christ. So what do we do about it? Well, in 15 Ephesians 5, 15 it says, Be very careful, then how you live, not as unwise, but as wise. Well, you see that phrase, making the most of every opportunity. That's the same word for time that caros. Every opportunity you have is significant when that happens. And what's he talking about? He's talking about how you live. And here's that phrase because the days are evil. The same phrase he used back in John 7 and now that's been passed on to us because we have his Holy Spirit. And look, there's another one. Look, there's 86 of these. I'm just giving you the ones in Ephesians. Ephesians 6 is the last one. I'll read verse 18 and pray in the Spirit on all. See that word occasions. Now, a while ago it was opportunities. Now it's occasions. That's that time. Time that is significant with a significant purpose, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and, and always keep on praying for the saints. Don't you find that fascinating that Paul uses that word that Jesus used about times that are significant, that have been. And he's getting down into your prayer life, how you live the conversations, you have the conversations with God. And so just think about how we view, oh, it's time for prayer time. And we say the prayer. It's A way more significant meaning in the Greek language. When he's saying that this is time that's changing the world, it's changing you. And I find it fascinating that Jesus said that. And. But he's also saying this is going to happen, this is going to happen. That's the focus with the other time work. So I just wanted to throw that out there because when you're studying the Bible, just knowing that is really going to enrich your life. When you read that, it's way more. This time is, is to be viewed as way more serious and the repercussions of it is way more godly. And it gets back to that God seeing what is done in secret.
Zach Dasher
So I was thinking of Jace, that you, you know we had the police officer on recently, the.
Phil Robertson
Blake. Blake Cook.
Zach Dasher
Yeah, Blake Cook. And I, I quoted that verse to him, Jason, you said a minute ago in Ephesians about making the most of every opportunity and the significance of it. Because I, I love when I, whenever I tell about, you know, me as a prodigal son and my return trip home, it was a police officer. I. When the way I say it is this, I said he actually practiced the verse that says make the most of every opportunity because he saw me and took advantage of that moment and guided me back to home. And I was like, you know, he, he understood the significance and now I can't even think about who he is. So I got to find him in heaven to say, hey dude, because you were living it and recognized the moment and the significance of it. You changed my life forever because you pointed me back to Jesus. So that's.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, the, the. I said this at church a while back. We had somebody pass out in our church and we had two or three paramedics come up there, a couple doctors, nurses, and I was like, you know, can you imagine? I mean they were on the scene ready to roll. And I thought, can you imagine if everybody in here had gone into like full time ministry? I think what, what we real. What I realize is that no, that we're not all called to do full time ministry, but we're all called to do ministry. We're all called, we're all called to, to be priests. That, that priesthood of believers is what we're all called to be. And I was reading this thinking about that when I was going through that Exodus passage where I mentioned on the last podcast. They're in, they're in this, they're coming to the mountain of God and they really just don't have access to him, and they can't come in proximity to him because he's too holy. And he gives them a warning not to do that. But what God ends up doing, Christ does, he ends up coming down and kind of manifesting on the mountain. And so that's the, I think that was a pre. Figuration of what, what we're going to experience here. And, and I say that, to say this, that what you experienced, Al, was a police officer who probably loved Jesus, I'm assuming, right?
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Who was a, who was doing his job as a police officer in the world. Which you think, is that a secular occupation or sacred occupation? Most people would say that's a secular occupation. It's not. If you're a believer, if you're, if you're, if you're part of the priesthood, then that police officer was actually in a sacred vocation. And so when there's this call in Exodus, it has everything to do with what Jesus said. But there's this call in Exodus 19 when he says that. He says, for all the earth is mine. This is God speaking. He said, all the earth is mine, and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Well, you flip over to the New Testament and First Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 26 says, for the earth is the Lord's. Same language he used in Exodus and the fullness thereof. But how many times have you heard the Gospel preached that the earth was actually something that we need to escape? But that's not the language that he uses. In First Corinthians 10, he says, the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. In my Bible, that headline in that particular passage is, you do all things to the glory of God. So I think that what's happening is when we start to understand time in this way is it essentially eradicates a divide between what we call the so called secular world and then the so called sacred world. And what it does is we start to view all of the world as sacred. All of the world is his. So no matter if you become a preacher or police officer, guess what you're doing, you have a sacred vocation, no matter which route you choose, right, which, which.
Zach Dasher
And you know, we, we talk about dad all the time, you know, through a love of outdoors, which I thought the movie did a great job of showing him as a kid that, you know, having this natural connection to the woods and, you know, it's just the way he was built, he was just wired that way that he could do the most for the kingdom from a position of a duck call an outdoorsman and a hunter than he ever could have as a preacher. He would always say, I'm not, you know, look at me, I'm not some preacher. But then he's probably one of the most famous preachers in. In our culture.
Phil Robertson
But never get. But never did it as a vocation.
Zach Dasher
But never did as a vocation. And so I mean I feel like I was in ministry being paid by the church. I'm grateful for everything they did for me, but I've done as much or more than that not being paid by the church for the last 12 years. So it, it's not a question of that. I let the way you put that because we say the word full time issue. We're all in full time mission.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Well, to your point, Zach, Galatians 4:4 says when the time had reached its fulfillment, God sent his son born of a woman. That's where I was getting that when I said, well, it started when. When he was born. Born under law to redeem those under law that we might receive the full rights of sons because you are sons. God sent the spirit of his son into our hearts, which is going that bringing heaven and earth together. So you're no longer a slave, but a son.
Phil Robertson
Because on the Great Commission when the time. Because that Whaley was probably the more fullness of that calling for him to establish the kingdom, to rule and terrain happened after his resurrection, when he gets the authority, has the dominion. But what is his charge to us? His charges? Well, here's your vocation.
Zach Dasher
Go do like that.
Jase Robertson
That's my whole point. Look people, there's too many churches that put up the missionary journey maps and all and they're trying to figure it out, all the times and the details and there's no power that it's not about just that that happened. And here's how it happened. The actual Greek word is the significance of when it happened, how it happened, and by which who brought it is thrilling. It should be thrilling. And look, you get to participate in it even in your prayer life. It's like, whoa, this moment, this time or this season? When somebody says, I'm going through a season, you say, well, how exciting is this season? What is the significance of this season? You follow me? It's not just we're going through some times and dates.
Phil Robertson
It's like this. I was thinking about this the other day because this guy on the not yet now podcast had just came in the comment section and just went scorched earth and I was reading through it, it was so bizarre. But one of the things that I was kind of keying up on is if you. When you think about this coming of the kingdom, and you can get off on that concept one of two ways. One, you can think that everything is fully here and there's no future hope, which is what this guy was saying. He said, he called it futurism. He said, it's dead. I'm like, well, I don't think so. Christ is coming back, son, and there will be a resurrection of the dead. And I stand on that very firmly like, he is coming back. But if you don't believe that, if you don't believe in the future resurrection of the dead, then what is this earth right now? It's just something to be gone through. And then we're going into whatever the.
Jase Robertson
I don't even know what the earth is. I'll tell you what it is. The earth's dead.
Phil Robertson
It's dead.
Jase Robertson
It's dead. And I know we're out of time. But to your point, you know which word is used in Mark 1:15? Mark 1:15, Jesus. First words recorded in the book of Mark. The time has come. The Kairos, the kingdom of God is near. I looked it up.
Phil Robertson
So it's on the other side, too. If you think that it's not here and that it's all coming in the future, that's the other side of it. That's all future. Well, then you still have a view of this world as being some kind of gnostic, like it doesn't matter.
Jase Robertson
Exactly. That's why I brought up Ephesians. That's why I went to Ephesians. Because everybody's like, that's not yet happened yet. And it's like it's happening now and it's significant. Yes. Yeah, yeah.
Zach Dasher

Podcast Summary: Unashamed with the Robertson Family
Episode 1140 | ‘The Blind’ Returns as Jase & Al Revisit the Places Phil Left Behind
Release Date: August 7, 2025
In Episode 1140 of Unashamed with the Robertson Family, host Tread Lively welcomes listeners back for a heartfelt and introspective discussion. The family delves deep into personal testimonies, revisits significant projects like the re-release of "The Blind," and engages in meaningful Bible study, all while reflecting on faith, family, and vocation.
The episode opens with Phil Robertson sharing exciting news about the re-release of their impactful movie, "The Blind." He recounts a moving encounter with a man whose life was transformed by Phil’s testimony:
Phil Robertson [08:25]: "I had a guy come to church this Sunday... He listened to the show, watched 'The Blind,' and just started unloading tears about how much Phil's testimony meant to him and how it led him to Christ."
This poignant moment underscores the enduring influence of their work in spreading the Gospel and reinforces the family's commitment to reaching out beyond traditional church settings.
Jase Robertson shares his unique experience participating in the "I Am Second" project, which invites individuals to share their faith journeys. He opens up about the vulnerability and introspection required:
Jase Robertson [07:35]: "I wasn't sure what I did... It was a weird experience, but it felt like it helped me do better."
Jase discusses the challenges he faced in crafting his testimony, particularly addressing his struggle with pride and the importance of humility in his walk with Jesus. He reveals that his approach was more about sharing God's story rather than his own, reflecting his desire to highlight Christ's role in his life.
The family shifts gears to a lighter yet significant topic: the innovative use of drones for planting seeds in Louisiana's challenging climate. Zach Dasher explains the project's inception and its practical challenges:
Zach Dasher [03:49]: "What if he only knew that one day you could plant with a drone? Yeah, man, that's something."
Jase reminisces about his father's dedication to plantation efforts and the unforeseen challenges they encountered, such as dealing with armyworms that devastated the crops shortly after planting. This segment highlights the blend of traditional values with modern technology within the family's endeavors.
Jase delves deeper into the "I Am Second" initiative, discussing the emotional and spiritual significance of the project. He recounts the process of filming his testimony and the unexpected personal impact it had:
Jase Robertson [11:51]: "I'm with everybody else... I just thought, I'm not doing this because I'm better than you."
He reflects on how his testimony was received by viewers and the profound stories shared by others who were similarly inspired by his family's work. The re-release of "The Blind" serves as a catalyst for these transformative experiences, reinforcing the family's mission to share God's Word through personal narratives.
A substantial portion of the episode is dedicated to an in-depth Bible study, where Jase and Zach explore the Greek concepts of "kairos" and "hora." They examine how these words, both translated as "time," carry different nuances and implications in scripture.
Jase Robertson [30:22]: "In the Bible, Horah generally refers to a specific point or duration of time... Kairos is God's time or the right time for something to happen."
Using passages from John and Ephesians, they illustrate how "kairos" signifies a divinely appointed moment with significant purpose, contrasting with the more neutral "hora." This study emphasizes the importance of recognizing and making the most of these pivotal moments in one's spiritual journey.
The conversation naturally flows into a discussion about vocation and ministry. Zach shares a personal story about meeting a police officer who played a pivotal role in his spiritual journey:
Zach Dasher [49:06]: "He changed my life forever because he pointed me back to Jesus."
Phil and Jase reflect on the idea that every occupation can be seen as a sacred calling when performed with a heart for God. They argue against the traditional divide between secular and sacred work, advocating for the belief that all roles can serve God's kingdom.
Phil Robertson [51:27]: "If you're a believer, if you're part of the priesthood, then that police officer was actually in a sacred vocation."
This segment reinforces the episode's overarching theme: integrating faith seamlessly into all aspects of life, whether in ministry or everyday occupations.
As the episode wraps up, the Robertson family reiterates their commitment to sharing their faith and supporting each other in their spiritual journeys. They encourage listeners to engage deeply with scripture, recognize the significance of divine timing, and view every opportunity as a chance to further God's kingdom.
Jase Robertson [55:03]: "With this word, it's to be viewed as way more serious and the repercussions are way more godly."
The episode concludes with a reminder of the upcoming continuation of their Bible study in John 13, inviting listeners to stay engaged and continue exploring their faith alongside the Robertson family.
