"Why does it feel so uncomfortable to admit when I'm wrong or apologize, even when I know I should?"

Most of the people who struggle with this care deeply, sometimes too deeply. They are so terrified of being perceived as bad that accountability starts to feel emotionally annihilating. This is shame, not character, and what was learned can be unlearned.
