A
Hello, everybody.
B
Welcome back.
A
My name is John.
B
My name is Arvin.
C
This is Monty. Jude.
A
And this is behind the scenes of our best days. All right, well, hey, me and Arvin, if you guys are just listening, I actually have two of my offspring here. Yeah. Do you know what offspring is?
C
No.
A
Good. Okay, so I have two of my boys here. I only have two boys, but this is Monty. How old are you?
C
Wait, nine.
A
Nine. Monty does not know how old he is. And then what's your name and how old are you?
C
I'm Jude. I'm 11.
A
Jude and 11. And so today, this is behind the scenes. Look, because at ministries, at churches, people be having kids.
B
That's right.
A
You have it.
B
I have a daughter.
A
You have a daughter. And most of the times at churches or ministries, sometimes, if you want to find the worst kids ever, historically, it's like people who work at a church and you're like, why are kids so bad? But hopefully my kids don't turn out that way. We've been rearing them in the word of the Lord.
B
Yeah. So far, so good.
A
You know what rearing means?
C
No.
A
Okay. And anyways. Okay, so we're gonna jump, right? Pastor Paul and Pastor Ashley. How many kids does Uncle Paul and Uncle and Aunt Ashley have?
C
Five.
A
And what are their names?
C
Benny, Liam, Mac, Ellie, Gianna.
A
Okay, and then you also have another aunt and uncle, and they have kids.
C
Georgia and Charlotte.
A
Well, that's. Yes, yes, absolutely.
C
Ziva and Tova.
A
Ziva and Tova.
C
And Isaac and Lily.
A
Lizzy. And you're missing one whole human.
C
Lizzie.
A
No. Oh, my goodness. So they have lots of cousins, and all of them are involved. Their parents are involved in ministry. So anyways, okay, before we start, what would you guys say? What is God telling you? What is God talking to you about right now?
C
My movies are gonna be good.
B
I agree.
A
Yep. So your movies. The movies you're watching, or. What do you mean by your movies?
C
Mine.
B
The ones you make.
C
You're gonna make them?
A
Yeah. Okay, cool. That's Monty. Monty's making movies. Okay. What is God telling you right now?
C
I'm gonna be the best NFL player.
A
The best NFL player. And what will that take?
C
My dad.
A
Your dad? Yes, that's right. I'm gonna. For. If you're. If you're down, then I'm gonna push you hard. I even brought my whistle today, guys, so I'm not gonna blow it really hard because it will hurt your ears. Okay? So, like, what does it mean? Do you guys. You guys grew up at Victory in church. Oh. And Your grandpa and grandma are obviously you have. You have two sets. But who is the grandpa and grandma that help start Victory, baby?
C
And.
A
And Gran Gran and Grand Grand.
B
Yeah, your great grand.
A
Okay, so. And where is grand grand now?
C
In heaven.
A
In heaven. Was that sad when she passed away a year ago?
C
Yes. She was 101.
B
Yeah. Amazing.
A
Yeah. And then who. And also, what do you guys call Billy Joe?
C
Pastor Billy Joe.
A
What?
C
What?
A
Billy Billy. Okay. Yeah.
C
Grandpa Joe.
A
Grandpa Joe. Okay. And where is he?
C
At Heaven.
A
Heaven. You guys ever meet him or.
C
No? No.
A
What do you guys think about that?
C
I don't know.
A
Okay, so you guys growing up at Victory, what has it been like being like, I'm your dad and what is whenever I say, going to church on Sundays, what goes through your head?
C
You're a good boy.
A
You're a good boy.
C
You say that a lot. Lifting.
A
Lifting.
C
And you say you're a good boy. Yeah, Lifting. Lifting. Each time on Sunday you say church. I know. After babies, after church. I know. Lifting.
A
Yeah. We lift weights on Sunday and we say, no lifting.
C
And dad says, you're a good boy.
A
Oh, yeah. Every time they start complaining and they're like, I don't want to lift. I don't want to do this, I go, you're a good boy. And I pat them on the head like a puppy. Okay. So, Arvin, what would be a question that you wish you could have answered? Being a pastor's kid.
B
Oh, boy. Yeah. Do you think your life is different than your friends whose parents aren't pastors?
C
Yes.
B
How so?
C
Well, we obey more. No, no. Well, yes, but it's kinda a bit funner because I get to go. I get to skip some parts of school because I got big things.
B
Yeah, tell us more about what big things?
C
You talk about this podcast, my haircut, Grand Grands funeral work.
A
You were excited to skip school for Grand Grant's funeral.
B
Fair enough. Fair enough.
C
No, no, we got. Right. Yes, we did. Actually. We went to this service, my sports skipping Friday so I could go to OKC and do my wrestling thing and I got fourth place. Ha ha.
A
Okay. All right. Yeah. Okay. So Jude, how would you say, like, you being a pastor's kid is different than maybe someone else, that they're like, oh, they don't always have to do what I have to do. Do you ever feel that way or.
C
No? Oh, yeah. So we always have to do hard stuff while they just sit down, play Nintendo or something. But at least we have more money. So you also have more stuff.
A
We don't have More money than everyone, but.
C
And we get to do random stuff during school.
A
Okay, well, that is. That's what. That's from their perspective, not mine.
C
I didn't say we have more money now.
A
We get to productions.
C
We get to do productions.
A
Oh, yeah. You guys have been in the productions.
B
How many have you done?
C
500.
B
500.
C
At least 100 of me being a baby.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Yes. Monty has played baby Jesus. Yes, we have. If you're watching this podcast, there's a picture on the back. On the back wall. We did an Easter production called Kingdom Come, and it was the. The birth, and it was like, basically, Jesus through the silent years in Nazareth.
B
Young life.
C
I don't remember doing that. But.
A
But Monty was the youngest version of Jesus.
B
Yeah.
C
And I was the youngest version of the bad guy.
A
Yes. Because that's right. Yeah.
C
Because I have aura.
B
King of kings. Yeah, we relied on your aura.
C
Look, warts one right there.
A
They did not put warts on your.
B
That might just be the pencil.
A
I think it's just the pencil on the picture. Okay. What's another question, Arvin?
B
Tell me about the difference. Do you have friends that don't go to a Christian school?
C
Yes.
B
What. What do you think is the difference between your school and their school?
C
So they're a public school. Mine's a private school.
B
Do you like your private school?
C
Yes.
B
What do you like about.
C
I get to learn about Jesus. We do a bunch of fun things that other people don't. And when you start wearing uniforms a lot, they start to get comfy. And I started to feel like if I was in a public school, I would have never been in this comfy uniform.
B
That's true.
A
Yeah, that is true. Jude, how about you? Do you know the question? Oh, you get two recesses. Okay. Very deep spiritual learning things that we are getting from today, and we'll get there. But basically, those of you who have kids, maybe you've asked, like, okay, some of the kids, whenever they're. There's two. There's two thoughts. If you are not working in ministry and maybe you're just sitting in a service, maybe a thought is, oh, man, their family is perfect. That's sometimes a thought.
C
It is not perfect. Yeah, it is not. Personally, I don't think I'm that perfect.
B
Not enough. I would agree myself as well.
A
Yeah. So anyways. But sometimes people, they think, okay, well, you know, this pastor or that pastor, their family is perfect. They have it all together. Or it's the other extreme. The other extreme is, oh, I bet they're horrible. And I bet they're terrible and they're just bad when in reality they're bad.
C
You're bad.
A
No, it's not.
C
Guys, if you're thinking bad things about good people, then they're probably bad.
A
Yeah, interesting take. That's a hot take a hot perspective. So anyways, but one thing that has helped us that not everyone is a fan of in 2026 is do you guys get disciplined?
C
Yes, very. Especially me.
A
Yeah. Okay. And explain that. Like what. How do you guys get disciplined?
C
Jude, get up.
A
Oh,
C
I've been spanked the most out of my whole family.
A
Yeah. So what do you guys think about spankings?
C
Terrible.
B
You don't like them?
C
No.
A
Yeah, yeah.
C
What if you never had them? I'll be terrible.
A
So, so, so spankings are actually a good thing.
C
Yeah. But they're terrible.
A
Right. But sometimes terrible things are good for you.
C
Yes, sometimes.
B
Yes.
A
So. And, and I know that people have different perspectives on it or they say, well, disciplining, it doesn't really have. There's no like long term, proven results or whatever. In the Bible it says spare the rod and you're going to spoil your child. So there is something about keeping your kid accountable. Now sometimes, you know, I will say, like Monty was saying, we are not perfect. We don't have it all together. Do I ever lose my temper?
C
Yes, many times,
A
but. Okay, but after I lose my temper, do I at least ask for forgiveness or.
B
No.
C
Sometimes. Get this kid out of here.
A
Okay. But as you guys hear it from my kids mouths, like, I do lose my temper and, and I have to be like, hey, I am sorry. What I did was wrong. And I do think that like as whenever you're in ministry, I think it's important to tell your kids when you are wrong.
B
Yeah, absolutely.
A
Or else they get. Or else your kids end up getting bitter.
B
Yeah, that's right. If you. Yeah. At least I don't know if you guys know I'm also a pastor's kid. And so I thought growing up the difference between kids who admire what their parents do and then kids who are really bitter about it is if their parents will be honest about the fact that they're not perfect either. I was really grateful. My dad would let me know and would apologize and tell me about what was not perfect about him and his life. And because of that I've always admired it. But they're probably. I don't know about the friends you have. If there are some PKs who sometimes the pastors feel pressure to like Pretend that they are perfect. And that's not even a pastor thing. A lot of families nowadays with Instagram and social media, they feel like they have to, like, show this TikTok version of their life. That is, like, awesome.
A
Yeah.
B
And typically, those kids, it's not fair. Like, they have too much pressure to present a certain way. It's really wonderful to see the joy you guys have and how you. You. You get to enjoy the other version of it. You raised your hand.
A
Monty is raising his hand on a podcast. What's up?
B
What's up?
C
Can we do the questions on the board?
B
Yeah. Do you want to. Which one do you want to start with?
C
What I want in the future.
A
What do you want in your. In the future? Being a pk. What do you want in the future?
C
So I want to make movies and books and become famous by them.
B
Nice. Okay.
C
And then have a good life and get a dog.
B
Nice.
A
Okay.
C
In a hamster.
A
A hamster. What happened to your last hamster?
C
Well, I'll tell you a whole story. I really wanted a hamster. So we got him. He bit like, three people. I called him Knuckles. And one day, he was still for the whole thing.
B
Oh.
C
We buried him. We thought he was dead. Until one day when we were in our house, dad put traps for bugs because we live in the country. One thing. I saw it. It was a mole, but not an ordinary mole. It was Knuckles. Because hamsters. Hamsters turn into mo.
A
I told them. I said, when you bury a seed, it turns into a flower. So when you. At the funeral, I said, knuckles isn't really dead. When you bury a hamster, they turn into a mole.
B
And that's right.
A
And to this day, they don't believe in Santa, but they believe that hamsters turning on the cross. Santa died for your sins. No. Okay, Christmas time.
C
I don't like that, dad. That's mean.
A
Okay. All right, then I won't.
C
All right, next question.
A
Jude, what would you want in your future?
B
Tell us about. What do you want in your future?
C
I want no wife. Cause it's gonna be too hard.
A
Oh.
C
And I want to be the best NFL player. I want to have three dogs, and I want to adopt a kid.
A
Interesting.
B
What position do you want to play in the NFL?
C
Any.
B
Any of them. Okay.
A
Any of them.
C
I just want to be in it.
B
Yeah.
C
Well, besides linebacker.
A
Okay, that's awesome.
C
Because it's too easy. Oh, too easy.
A
All right, let me ask you guys this. And this is a. I have two questions about friends. Here's the thing. Who is your best friend. And why?
C
Besides our family.
A
Besides your family.
C
All right, so that's hard, because I got Lewis and Logan. Two very, very, very, very best friends.
A
Yeah. Why are they your best friends?
C
First, Lewis. One day we just met each other in K5. We were just normal people. Then we met each other. I said, do you like Legos? And he said, yeah. And then I said, do you want to be friends? And he said, sure. And then bam. The whole universe changed.
A
Very good.
C
And then Logan. One day, Logan was just a kid that I knew had a bunch of Legos because. Yeah. And then one day, Luke was gone, and then I was looking for a friend to play at recess. Then I met the kid with a bunch of Legos, but now his name is Logan. We've been best friends for.
A
That's great. So your friendship is built on Legos. That's good. It's truly built.
B
It's built.
A
It is for sure built. Jude, how about you? Best friends besides your family?
C
That's hard. Cause I've, like, unlike Monty, he has two. I have, like. I have a bunch. I have 27 different kids that are. I don't even call.
A
Okay, okay. Including family.
C
Benny, Not Monty. I don't. Mac. I actually. I never called anyone a friend. I called them best friends.
A
Really?
C
Yeah, same.
A
Okay, let me ask you guys this question. What is it? How do you become. How does. How do you be a best friend to someone else?
C
I don't really know. It just happens.
A
Really? So let me ask you this.
C
They pick you.
A
And why would they pick you? Like, what do you offer as a friend?
C
Hey, you want to be my friend?
A
Yeah. But, like, so I could answer this question because I feel like I know you guys and what you are, but I want you to try to think of, like, in the mornings, whenever we're driving, I ask you guys this first question. I say, what? What are some questions that I ask you in the morning?
C
What do you see? Four things. You see?
A
No. What? That. That was something that we. That we did in the past. But I go, what do you love most about yourself?
C
My hands.
A
Why?
C
Because they help me do a lot of stuff.
A
Monty, what do you love most about yourself?
C
My amazing imagination.
B
Wow.
A
And the reason why I always want to ask while we're driving, I go, what do you love about yourself? And I always have my daughter, Blythe. I have her. Look in the mirror.
B
Yeah.
A
And I go, when you look in the mirror, what's the thing you love about yourself? Because I think kids are so. They're so fixated in 2026 on what they hate about themselves. So you have to make sure that, like, if they know what they love about themselves, you can lean into your strength.
B
Yeah.
A
Another thing I ask is, I ask, what are you the most grateful for right now? And sometimes I'll go, it has to be a different answer than yesterday.
B
Sure, sure.
A
Yeah. So what are you the most grateful for right now?
C
I am grateful for Logan and Lewis. What did I say yesterday? Or whatever.
A
I don't know. What are you grateful for today? May 2026. What are you grateful for today, April?
C
Brody.
A
Brody. And who is Brody?
C
Oh, wait. The nicest kid I've ever met in my entire life. Nice to everybody. Gives everybody stuff. Always just does try to just everything for everybody.
B
Wow.
C
He's being. He is really nice.
A
Yeah. And are you that way with people, or are you pretty? Like, I don't want to share anything.
C
Well, I'm kind of like Brody, but, like, let's say 20% less.
A
You're like, I like to give people things, but not everything. You're like, I'm nice, but not all the time. Do you know the difference between being nice and being kind
C
is the fake version of kind.
B
Interesting. Yeah.
C
So nice is just like, I'm getting
A
your boogers out of your nose because you got so many bats in the cave.
C
So nice. It's like, oh, let me help you, lady. That doesn't mean you do that to everyone. That just means you helped her just that time. But kind is like, you do it a lot. Yes. You do it a lot. It's your hobby. It's like.
A
It's who you are.
C
Yes.
A
Yeah. Nice is sometimes. Can be like, surface. And so anyways, I think that's a good thing. You know, the one thing that I have talked to my kids about with discipline and with one thing that I try to have my boys do is last night, what practice did you have?
C
Wrestling.
A
Wrestling. And it's not always easy, but it's so good for boys to get their butts kicked sometimes.
C
Yeah.
A
I like it when my boys sometimes get beat because you learn when you lose.
C
And then we beat them back, right? Yeah. We go, bam.
A
Okay. We don't shoot anyone. You can't shoot anyone. Metaphorically. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You shoot.
C
You shoot. Shoot.
A
Oh, that's true. That's true. That is. That is a move in wrestling is to shoot some other things that, you know, whenever we're in worship. What happens, like, in a worship service? Do you guys like to enter in? Have you ever Heard the voice of God during worship one time.
C
One time. Like, sometimes I'll move all the way back and worship during church. I just get by the trash can. Just doing this.
A
Raising your hands.
C
Yeah, not raising like this. I just do this. I just sing. And then after like five minutes, I'm just sunk in. Doing this and saying nothing.
A
Yeah.
B
How does that feel?
C
Well, actually feels pretty good.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah, that's good. Yeah, that's good. As far as when it comes to Uncle Paul, whenever he is preaching and we go to church on Sundays, do we always go to the central campus?
C
No. So there is North Manford and the. The. Isn't that Emily? No, there's one more.
A
It's the central campus. This main campus.
C
Yeah. Yes. Central. Central. North, West. What do you say? West.
A
So anyways, whenever you guys are there at the campuses, how are they different? And what do you learn at being at different campuses?
C
Well, Central is like this. Like, everybody is able to come in. It's our main church. Manford is like more of a country type and more like outdoors type. And then north is in the hood.
B
Oh,
A
but that's.
C
But, yeah, but a lot of people still come and they get God in their heart.
B
Yeah.
C
Now, next question. Movies.
A
Okay. What are the movies?
C
All right, so today I'm gonna be asking the questions. It's Boss Monty or Money. Monty. Oh, money. All right. All right, Jude, right now, right now, what's your favorite movie?
A
And it can change, but you can name several of them.
C
Several? Yeah, a Crazy Nights. Click.
A
Click. Oh, Adam Sandler. Click.
C
Yeah, there's another one, but I don't think. I don't think Victory. Let me say it.
A
Wait, what? What is it?
C
It's.
A
Oh, the movie.
B
It.
C
All them even welcome to Derry and.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Okay, now let me ask you this something. So, ladies and gentlemen, and Michael. Oh, Michael, the new Michael Jackson movie.
C
Yeah.
A
Now, what did you learn? Because I always ask my kids in the middle of movies, what are we learning about movies? Because I believe you can learn so many, so much lessons. If any of you have ever listened to Pastor Paul's sermon, he loves using movies as an example. And what it does is it transcends people to that place. Whenever he mentioned something, you know, what was something that you learned in the movie? Click. The Adam Sandler movie.
C
Oh, you can never fast forward life.
B
Interesting.
A
Yeah, that's good.
C
All right, next one. Dad.
A
Wait, hold on. We're not done. Let me ask.
C
Let me ask, what's your favorite movie?
A
My favorite movie. I really like a movie. Called Apocalypto. And it's a movie about some Maya Indians. Mayan Indians. And Mel Gibson made it right after the Passion of the Christ. It's a very bloody movie, but it is a beautiful movie about a husband and a wife that are tribespeople in the jungles of the Amazon all throughout Central and South America. It is. It's an adventure, but it really, really impacted me. Another movie that really impacted me was Simon Birch.
C
Oh, my gosh. That was. That was.
B
What do you think?
C
It made me cry.
B
Yeah, same. Me too.
A
At what age. Those of you guys who are listening, at what age do you remember watching a movie and it was your first time that you got emotional? Because I actually enjoy seeing my kids, because I don't think I. That was the first time I got emotional watching a movie. And that had never happened to me where a movie impacted me so much that I got emotional and I thought about it for days. Those of you who are watching, if you've not watched Simon Birch, it is a powerful story. It's not a Christian movie, but it's a powerful story. And so there are certain things that I want to watch with my kids. That way I can ask questions, you know. And what did you learn about the movie? It.
C
Oh, never trust strangers.
A
Never trust strangers.
C
Never. And never be afraid.
A
Never be afraid. Because the whole point of that movie, even though, you know, people look at it and they're like, well, it's demonic. It's all these things.
C
I'll be quiet.
A
It's a. Okay. There is a great lesson on addressing fear.
B
Yes.
A
At the. At the kids age.
B
Yeah.
A
Now, obviously, I'm not telling you to go and watch it. Everyone has their own convictions, but it is a thing to. Where the kids don't address the fear and they don't kill it when they're kids. So in Part two, when they're adults,
C
they want to kill it.
A
Yeah. All of their traumas and things come back. And so as adults, they have to go back to their childhood physically in the town of Derry and destroy the fear once and for all. So it's just a unique story. So, yeah, it's powerful.
C
All right, and next one. No, I'm asking the question. Okay, Be quiet. Arvin, what's your favorite movie?
B
My favorite movie is Inception. Have you guys heard of that? It's Christopher Nolan. It's a very. It's about dreams, and then it's. It's just really entertaining and fun to watch.
C
All right, new segment. Video games.
B
Oh, wait, hold on, Monty, have You ever cried watching movie?
C
No. I'm going to sing my favorite movie right now.
B
Oh yeah, go ahead.
C
It's.
B
Take your time.
C
It's. Come on, bro. The sheep detectives.
A
Oh, the Sheep Detectives. The movie you just watched, Uncle. So Sunday after church. So just recently we had Mother's day weekend services. Pastor Paul and Pastor Ashley preached. It was a great, great word. Afterwards, Pastor Paul, Uncle Paul, he came over to my mom's house because we celebrated with, you know, we gave some gifts to my mom. And then he just was like, hey, what if I took all the kids to a movie? And I was like, sure, take them. And so Uncle Pastor Paul took his five kids and my three kids. Just him. Him and eight kids. He took them to the sheep detective movie.
B
What car did you take? Did you all get in one car? Did you smash into one car?
C
Yes. Mac and me shared a seat. Me and Benny shared a seat.
B
That's amazing.
C
Blythe, Ellie and Gianna all shared a seat and Liam got to sit in front with the whole big seat.
A
So after, after Paul preached Saturday and Sunday, he was like, I'll take eight kids to a movie Sunday afternoon. But anyways, it was, it was pretty good. It was pretty great.
B
You guys like that movie?
C
Yes.
B
What'd you like about it?
C
So it's kind of like it's a mystery. So. Okay, I like it. It's like slash kind of for adults. I think adults would like it, but it's also kind of for kids.
B
What makes you think that adults would like it?
C
It's a mystery. Murder. Murder mystery. Yes. But the thing I think kids would like it. The sheeps are the detectives.
A
Oh, interesting. That's pretty good. Arvin. Any more questions as we come to an end?
C
Oh, we still like all of that.
B
You so well, tell us about your new video games. You want to do food?
C
Be quiet. Monster video games.
B
Tell us your favorite food and then
C
we'll find Mc McAdonald. Mc Mc McAdonald.
A
Yeah, we're working on, we're working on enhancing their diet greater than what they currently are doing. But the only reason I get them, McDonald's, they don't have it every day. I will get it after a game or after a physical activity. Yeah. So it's more of like a reward.
B
Yeah. Fair enough. Absolutely.
A
Yeah.
C
My favorite, my two favorite items on the menu. This was my very first favorite menu. The Happy Meal. Six piece chicken nuggets. Gimme ranch with that and fries and tirade. And a toy. Bam. All done in one minute.
B
But then we'll Now. Yeah.
C
Whoa, whoa. My. One of my best friends, Lewis, we're on a Playdate. We're driving. Ms. Jules said since like because lucid me just finished our basketball game, he went with me to we're gonna have a play date. And then Ms. Jewel said, what do you want for lunch? Of course we said McDonald's. And then Lewis introduced me to the five dollar meal.
A
That's true. He started doing the five dollars. Have you ever heard of that?
B
Arman? No, I have no idea.
C
So the thing is they give you one burger, four chicken nuggets and fries and ranch.
B
Nice.
C
I love that. I'm so happy I was friends with Lewis because I would have never tried that.
B
Yeah, he couldn't.
C
Then one day later, workers, they didn't make it a normal cheeseburger. They made it into a McCrispy. And that was good. I just took off all the lettuce. I was like, well, I'm trying that crispy meat.
B
You like this?
C
It was so good. I'll try. Dang. I think this is just the best day of my life.
A
That's fantastic. Jude, how about you?
B
What's your favorite food?
C
Well, I have a few. I like Brahms.
A
If you have not been. If you're not from Oklahoma, there is a place called Brahms and it has high end ice cream, but for cheap.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
And the food to me. And certain people don't agree with me. Me, I believe they have some of the best food.
B
I agree.
C
They do. They do.
B
I've had burgers all over the country. I love Brahms.
A
Oh yeah. I. I love.
C
So I like Brahms. Chick Fil A. Yeah. And Mexican.
A
Yeah.
B
What kind of Mexican?
C
And Chinese. Yeah, not an ordinary Mexican. Katrina's Katrina is like, okay, yeah, I like Consuelas, but they close down.
B
Yeah, I saw that.
C
And then they made it into Italian food. I'm like, all right, if you're gonna do that, make sure to put it in Italian place.
B
Interesting.
C
Like Americans either want Chinese food, Mexican or American food, but Italian. I just think they're a bit brave for putting it in like this type of place.
A
That's such a good. You ate. You ate King. Yes. America is brave for putting Italian in quote unquote place. Okay, any more, Any more questions?
C
You may do the honors. Video games.
A
Okay. Ouch. You're hurting people's ears. Okay. There's certain people that are driving.
B
That's true.
A
Yeah, it's true. Okay, so certain favorite video games.
C
You shouldn't be on your phone while driving.
A
Well, they listen to the they listen to the podcast dad, dad, dad. I'm dad. Okay. Anyways, ready? Go.
C
My favorite video game, Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox and Boomerang Fu and Gang Beast, which me and Monty love.
A
Okay.
C
And same thing. I really love it. But what I gotta give. Here's another friend who introduced me into one of my favorite games. He also introduced me into Fortnite. And he also introduced me into Wobbly Lightyears. One of my best friends, Logan, he showed me Fortnite. And I was like, wow. And then one day he was like, do you know Wobbly Life? And I was like, no. So one day on my. So when they ever introduced me to these things, it's like. So I'm like, I'm not taking any chances. But then my brain's like, nope, I'm taking chances. And then I don't care if I don't like it. Like that burger, that five dollar meal. I could have had chicken nuggets. But I was like, nope, I'm gonna take a chance. And then Wobbly Life, it was gonna take me one of my birthday presents to do that. I was like, know what? Let's do it. And then, bam. My mind blown. One of the best games. Thank you, Rubber Band games for making Wobbly Life. I love that. That's a sponsor.
A
That's a sponsor. Okay. Well, hey, hopefully I don't think you guys learned anything today on the podcast, but you just got to see an insider look of what it's like being behind the scenes of victory. And how many in closing, do you guys have any closing encouragement? Like, if someone is actually really sad, what's something that you would encourage someone? Like, how would you be a good friend to someone who is listening right now?
C
So if you're out there, just know you're super strong and you are not fat. You are fit.
A
Amen.
B
Very kind.
C
Amen.
B
Very good.
A
Jude, what is something that if you. If there is a listener out there and they were needing a word of encouragement, a word of victory, something that maybe, you know, it's the end of the year, sometimes people get so bogged down and you can get mentally stressed and just overstimulated, and you're just like, lord, I'm discouraged. What would be a word to that person?
C
Never let anybody bring you down. Always keep going, finish till the end.
A
Yep. Well, we love you guys. Those of you who are listening, thank you so much for joining us.
B
Totally.
A
Yes.
B
We'll see you next time on behind the Scenes of Our Best Days.
A
See ya. Bye. Bye.
B
See you guys.
Host: John (with Arvin)
Guests: Monty (9), Jude (11) – John’s sons
This episode offers a candid, lighthearted “behind-the-scenes” look at the life of a pastor’s family at Victory Church. Host John is joined by his sons Monty and Jude, along with co-host Arvin, to discuss the realities, challenges, and joys of growing up in a ministry family—or, as many know, being a “pastor’s kid” (PK). Topics range from discipline, friendship, faith, family legacies, and personal dreams, to favorite movies, foods, and the importance of self-acceptance.
The podcast is refreshingly real, kid-centric, and often funny, balancing honest discussion about family, faith, and discipline with candid glimpses into daily life—food cravings, video game obsessions, and the hope that one day a hamster can “turn into a mole.” The emphasis, both from John and Arvin, is on authenticity, humility, and cultivating gratitude and kindness in children—qualities that set a strong foundation regardless of whether you’re in a ministry family.
This episode is essential listening (or reading) for anyone interested in ministry family life, parenting wisdom, and the joys and challenges of raising kids in a faith-centric community.
