A
Welcome to We Talk Back podcast, a production of iHeartRadio and the Black Effect Network.
C
We're just two unapologetically black women with an opinion who talk back.
A
What's up, y'?
C
All?
A
It's your girl, aj. Am I the drama holiday?
C
Yes.
A
Period. And don't care. What's up, Tammy?
C
Y', all? It's Tam Bam. I love y' all so much. Thank y' all for coming back. How was your weekend, aj?
A
Uneventful. Y' all know I don't be doing nothing. For real? For real. What did I do this weekend? Yeah, I didn't do much. Catch up on work, worked out gym rat for the weekend, and that's about it. I ate a. I ate. I did eat this weekend.
C
That's good.
A
We're in Pole meals. I ain't do nothing that I can think of. And I do be doing shit. But then forget, like, it be small shit, though. I was in town. I ain't do much. What you had going on.
C
I went. I dated this weekend. I went on different dates with different guys.
A
How many in one day or over the weekend?
C
Like, over the weekend.
A
Okay.
C
It was like one guy a day. A different guy every day. I went to dinner with one guy, I went to get coffee with a different guy, and then I went and shot pool with another guy over the weekend. I'm dating.
A
Okay, good. Right. As you should. But I'm wondering what the men that you went on these dates with, right, if they were to listen to this episode, I. I think all women gonna be like, yeah, great girl. Great girl. But I think the men, for some reason, think you're not supposed to go out on dates with multiple people. So how do you think these men are gonna feel if they listen to this episode and know that you went out on a date with them plus two this weekend?
C
I don't think they're gonna listen. But if they do, I mean, I'm a single woman. I'm sorry.
A
Right.
C
Make the best man win, period. I don't know what else to tell you, you know?
A
Yeah, it's a marathon.
C
What. What. What that girl said on Poetic Justice. I don't remember saying I do to any of you. Right?
A
And nowadays you really got to do, like, you know, like in high school or middle school, elementary, whatever, when you send, like, the little note, are we together? Check. Yes or no?
C
Yeah.
A
If we don't do that.
C
Then I don't know what to tell you.
A
Like, yes, I'm free to roam.
C
And honestly, I mean, it's very early. Two of them were first dates, so I can't say shit. You know, one of them and then the other one, I told him I was going on dates.
A
So why'd you feel comfortable telling that one and not the others? Do you think that the others would have been like, oh, that one seems like he's more friendly.
C
Yeah. And I don't know how it came up. I don't think he liked it though. Honestly, I didn't. I don't think he liked the fact that I was going out with somebody else. But do something about it.
A
Hey, period.
C
Yeah. So that's what I did. But now I just don't want to be bothered with no for the rest of. For this whole week because I out.
A
I need to recharge. That's how it be, man.
C
Let's get in the sins.
A
Ah. Am I the drama? Cardi Cardi B released her second studio album. And it's lit.
C
Yes.
A
For my opinion.
C
I enjoyed it. It's good. It's good gym music. It's good. I enjoy it. I love what I think.
A
Me too. I don't like people really be like. I feel like people be hating on Cardi B. I love. Cardi B is a flyest on the red carpet. I don't know who the hell her stylist be like. I think when she had the house, she might could put on some. Some that look like a Hispanic woman would wear. But when she had the red carpet, baby, she's always super duper fly.
C
Yeah.
A
To that imaginary place. You can't.
C
You don't know the difference between vintage and archive. That's what she said in comparison to Jay Z saying like, what's the difference between the 4.0 and a 4.6?
A
Right. So I think Kendrick Lamar and the Drake Beef kind of open the door for people to actually verbally call people out on albums because she got a whole song on there dedicated to Bia and it actually helped Bia because now her. Her songs are getting more downloads. Right. So say thank you, Bia. Say thank you.
C
I doubt she'll do that.
A
But she dedicated a whole song and called her name out in the first. Went on a breakfast club and talked about this. Like Cardi B. This beef was two years ago now.
C
So you.
A
You just putting this album out and. And rekindling the.
C
She.
A
She threw shots at jt. I think it's all friendly fire.
C
I don't. I don't think it's friendly. It did. None of it sounded very like friendly. All right, what about.
A
I can't wait for the responses.
C
Did you hear the. The Looking Boy by Glorilla towards Young Thug and Mariah? Was that real or was that AI? I don't know.
A
Me either. I don't know if she put that together or not. It sounded like her.
C
It's. I mean, yeah, but you know, AI, they can make it sound just like the person. It was funny.
A
Come out and say it wasn't her. That was hilarious.
C
Yes. So you're right. They are calling people out just like I'm talking to you.
A
Yes. I prefer that because. Don't sub me, bitch. You got to tap me on my shoulder. Otherwise, I don't know you talking about me, right? Yeah, you got to tap me on my shoulder.
C
So.
A
I love it. I love the album. I know the Breakfast Club gave Cardi a hard time with imaginary equations. I'm trying to figure out why they thought that she was supposed to sound like Jay Z on that album.
C
I don't know why they thought that either. She didn't have to sound like Jay Z. I mean, she did. She did, you know, pull parts. You know, you could hear like the laughing and talking. Yeah. And how she, you know, the. The vintage in archive. And she compared it. Like that was the comparison to what he was saying about cars. And just even somehow the. The. The way she spit was similar too. So I don't know. I don't. It don't need to be. She don't need to do karaoke of his, you know, so.
A
Right.
C
I like.
A
So Jerry the Mouse, AKA DJ Academics, he had a few choice words to say about Cardi's album. He said Cardi B's Am I the Drama became the. The fastest female album to go platinum, but not because the album's new tracks. He said Cardi B inflated her sales with the five year old records. And her new songs, Imaginary Players and Outside were barely making or we're barely moving 50k to 100k streams. So basically what he's saying is because she added WAP and Up to the album, those are singles. What album was she supposed to add them to? Right. He's saying that inflated her sales in streams. I don't think so. Because I have not. When I heard those songs and I'm like, wait, did they go to another album or something? I turned it off immediately and I started back from the beginning of the album. I didn't even realize those songs were actually on the album, like without looking at my phone until I saw this headline.
C
And what difference do it make?
A
Well, I guess because it. Because those were huge hits. Right. Or I didn't like WAP personally. Right. Up was cool. Those are not the best songs. On this album.
C
No.
A
Okay, so academics is trying to discredit Cardi B because he just loves going against women.
C
Mm.
A
He's one of the girls. Okay. Girls. He's one of the girls. Not girls. So, yeah, like, I. I don't. I don't understand what the. What the beef is, but shout out to Cardi B, because the album is fucking fire.
C
I enjoy it. I'm happy for her. And I just love her promo. She's like, making it, like, gully, like, gritty. Like, she on the train. Like, buy my CD. Buy my CD. Like, buy my outfit. 9.99 right on the train. And then I like the one where she was outside on the street with the blanket with the album sitting on the blanket outside. Yeah, you know? Yeah, that was funny.
A
People really don't do rollouts anymore for their albums, right? They just hit social media. They might put a video out for maybe one of the songs and that's it. Like, she literally did a rollout. She's doing all these interviews. Yeah, she. She was. Cardi B has always been working, and also she set the precedents for women who want to also be actual women and have families. Cardi B is doing all the things. She's pregnant with her fourth child right now.
C
Right. And don't give a fuck. And go.
A
And don't give a fuck. I feel like even Nicki Minaj may not ever give her, you know, props for this, but I feel like that's probably what encouraged Nicki Minaj to go ahead and have a baby. You know, Cardi B. Cardi B. Did all the things, Everything she said she was going to do, she didn't.
C
And it's such a beautiful Cinderella story because I remember, you know, she was on love and hip hop, you know, like, I wear low cut shirts, so don't look at my teeth, you know, like, you know, I respect it. It's such a beautiful Cinderella story. So shout out to Cardi B. Is there any other music you listening to right now that's like, got you in the chocolate?
A
I. I just got, like, I got a playlist. I got the same playlist and heavy rotation. I just be adding songs from other people albums, but I don't have, like, no super favor right now. What you got?
C
You know who I'm fucking with? So heavy right now. And he just. He just gets me. Key Glock. I love.
A
Ghetto. I heard a couple songs this weekend. I don't even know how, but I'm like, oh, this is who this is?
C
Yeah.
A
All right.
C
So I I don't know if y' all saw, but Jimmy Kimmel got suspended indefinitely for his comments on his show about Charlie Kirk and President Trump. And he was suspended, but turns out they're letting him back. By the time you hear this, he will have already aired this past Tuesday night. And it says here Disney and ABC will bring the comedian back to his schedule starting Tuesday night. Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming and intense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill timed and thus insensitive. The company said in a statement. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversation with Jimmy. And after those conversations, we reached a decision to return to his show Tuesday. But for what I.
A
He took the knee is what I'm hearing.
C
He bent the knee. Oh, really? What does that mean?
A
That's what I feel like. Nothing. Jimmy Kimble, Okay. I can't remember his exact words, but I did watch. I didn't. I watch a clip of what he said. I can't remember exactly what he said, though. Like, so I can say verbatim here, but it was nothing that serious to have taken his job. Right? And it's almost like it still goes back to this. This particular group of people. You can't even sound like you insinuating anything about them, right? They don't realize how. And the thing is, y' all can try. Y' all can put a. Put the thing, whoever they. Y' all want to put in there, but they don't realize. Is that. What they don't realize is that when they do this thing, like taking someone's livelihood, it only helps everybody else's narrative that they are treacherous. You know, I'm saying we are right now. I don't know if people realize freedom of speech is very. And this is. We talk back. Freedom of speech is very much.
C
Being.
A
It's just under attack right now.
C
Yeah.
A
And I don't think that people realize that, you know, when somebody is saying something you agree with, Right. You kind of. Then this other person you don't agree with, you attack them. It's gonna come a time when you say something and somebody's gonna attack you for your speech. So people should be allowed to be able to say whatever they want, whatever their opinion is. And then you got the court system for slander and libel. Okay? So somebody says something that's not true, you know, you can sue them, right? Suit them for that. But people's opinions or maybe something you haven't researched yourself. You can't just automatically say something isn't true. Right. I agree with perspective and, you know, perspective and perception is going to kill all arguments every time.
C
You know, it's for the court of public opinion to cancel somebody. Okay. You know, based on what they're saying. But when government starts to, you know, decide what can be said and what can't, that's when it becomes a problem, a real problem. You know, and that's scary. It really is scary.
A
So I don't think people are considering that, though. They don't. They are not. Because if something is said and that they. And they agree with it, they side with the government. The government can't do anything to us unless the masses are complicit with that thing. Yeah. So we are giving them the. The green light to sense. Yeah. For censorship. Absolutely.
C
Yeah.
A
That's not what you want. No, that is not what you want. Okay. It's not what you want, but that's where we have.
C
But I also saw that Disney, you know, lost like $4 billion since they. Since Jimmy Kimmel. And they was like, yeah, let me give that boy a chance. We just playing with y'. All. Come on back. We thought about it and, yeah, we're gonna let him say some more shit. Yeah. Like, I can't wait to watch and hear what he has to say tonight because I think it's gonna be interesting.
A
You know, once somebody takes your voice away, it's like, it's hard to talk after that.
C
Yeah.
A
I'm interested in. In seeing what he says, too, because I. I don't ever want to feel censored. Like, I can't say something in fear of. Right. It's tough being in the public eye in any capacity and simultaneous simultaneously being yourself and fear of people. I'm not. I'm not afraid of critique.
C
I definitely kind of try to have empathy. It's almost impossible, though, you know, to have to acknowledge the plight of every human experience. Yeah.
A
You can't consider everybody, and while you're doing that, who's considering you.
C
Right. It's hard. It's impossible, you know, it's not hard. It's impossible.
A
Everybody ain't gonna fuck with you, and that's okay. Have y' all been following this story? We gotta get a little bit more research going, but have y' all been following this story with this singer, David. His real name is David Anthony burke. So apparently, Mr. Burke, he's under fire because he had a Tesla that was. I don't know if it was repossessed or just told because it was abandoned somewhere. And apparently there was a body of a deceased teenager who had been missing since 2024 in California. So this, this, this read is coming from Billboard Hip Hop. It says David's. His name is. His Stage name is D4VD. Yeah, his real name is David. It says David's rise as one of Gen Z's most promising pop stars has taken a shocking turn. The 20 year old artist who first broke out with viral hits after pivoting from YouTube into music and had been in the middle of a massive world tour before canceling all remaining dates last week. The decision came after a tragic discovery on September 8th. Authorities confirmed that the decomposed body of 15 year old Celeste Revis, who'd been reported missing since April 2024, was found in the trunk of David's impounded Tesla at a Los Angeles tow lot. Investigators are treating Revis death as a homicide. While the singer's rep says David is fully cooperating with authorities, no charges have been filed against him. The devastating news has sparked widespread speculation online with fans and onlookers piercing together potential connections between the late teen and the rising star. Just months ago, David was known for genre blending songs and skyrocketing career. Now his name is tied to tragedy that's left both. So. And then he had a song. What's the damn song? Hold on, hold on y'.
C
All. Yeah, because he had a song like with her name in it that sounded like.
A
Yeah, he had been releasing songs on her birthday also. Right. So that was like a weird thing. Um, but the song that he released and all the gen zers love is something homicide, like beautiful homicide or something like that. Um, hold on a second.
C
Like this nigga is going to jail.
A
Romantic homicide released in 2022.
C
Oh, but that's before she went missing, ain't it?
A
Well, that's her before they reported her missing. I don't know.
C
Romantic homicide is crazy.
A
Maybe he was, you know, maybe he was singing about doing the thing, right?
C
And he finally did it. Baby, you just got to be careful. I just pray over everybody that's listening to the sound of my voice that you do not encounter anybody that wants to harm you, that wants to end you.
A
Oh yeah, like 20 years old. So if she went missing last year, they're saying she's, she's a 15 year old, but she wasn't 15 at the time of her disappearance. So essentially this adult, adult male, right. Was engaging with a minor. Minor, because I think the legal. Legal age of consent in California. I'm not sure. I don't know. I'm not even about to lie. Anyway, she was a minor. Now the minor has been missing. And I did see another headline that I hadn't. Yeah, they found her body. And then, like, yesterday or the day before, I saw. Saw something saying that they found, like, fetal tissue or something near his home.
C
That's insane. Think about that other rapper. Damn, I wish I knew his name. Who killed his homeboys. And they made a song about killing his home.
A
Oh, you talk about why? Wyeth and Melly.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
Right on My mind. That song. He. That dude name is Demon. Like, his last name is Demon. What we thought. Yeah, his last name is Demons.
C
Yeah, they are Bellina.
A
Absolutely. Absolutely.
C
Like, so when niggas tell you, like, they got crazy nicknames, don't fuck with him.
A
Do you remember that dude? I think he went. Either went to Benedict or he went to Allen, but he had Troublesome tattooed on his forehead. Do you remember that nigga from Florida?
C
No.
A
Why are you in college with troublesome tattooing? Your forehead get that removed?
C
Like, what was the thought process?
A
He's in prison now. He's in prison. I believe he ended up killing somebody. So he is in prison.
C
Yeah, because you manifested that for yourself. You looked in the mirror every day with Troublesome What? Lord have mercy.
A
I remember one time my niece pulled up to my house with a skinny jean wearing. I'm looking at him. So I'm looking like, girl, this don't look too kosher. But he had just tattooed focused. No, it was like, right here. He tattooed focus, like, on his forehead. I'm like a fresh tattoo. I'm like, you couldn't just be focused, right?
C
You had to put it on your face. Everybody can know that you're focused. Okay, but that's also like. Remember we went to school with a guy named Psycho?
A
Was he really Psycho?
C
He wasn't that bad, though. I really.
A
I like Psycho.
C
But as an adult woman, I will not want my daughter hanging out or dating anybody who would refer to themselves as that.
A
Right?
C
Because if something happened, it's like, well, he told you, right?
A
So don't bring Psycho to my goddamn house.
C
Don't bring them here.
A
Same.
C
What are we talking about today?
A
I don't know.
C
It's fall. It's Fall, y'.
A
All.
C
It's the first week of fall. It's my favorite season of the year.
A
Girl, you are so, like, what is what? Those little diet. What was it? The little books Back in the day diary. I just know you watched a lot of Nickelodeon and I did.
C
I used to love Are you afraid of the dark? My. It's my season, y'.
D
All.
C
I love Halloween. I love scary movies. I love cozy socks. I love pumpkin spots spice. I just so happy right now. Like, this is my time to shine. Bitch, why you so giggly about this? Because, girl, a year. This is.
A
I love fall, too. This is the best. The best weather. Yeah, I got three kites. I don't know if y' all know, but, like, flying a kite will definitely heal your inner child. But this is like the best windy.
C
Weather to fly a kite. I'm gonna get me a kite this year. I'm gonna get order.
A
Costco girl. Order from Costco. I got a big. I got three dragons.
C
Okay, Costco send us a sponsorship check. We need it. This mention, y', all every time she can. But listen, I need to get a Costco card because at this point, the way you rep for them, I really need to see what's going on over there.
A
Everything in there. I mean, you know, you kind of waste money sometime a single person buy in bulk, but.
C
All right, so y', all, when we get back, we're going to get into it.
B
It's fall this past weekend, like every other Sunday, you were on the court with the guys, playing ball. Just a pickup game, living out your hoop dreams. No triple doubles, but a mean set of threes in between buckets. One of the homies mentions he closed on a new crib. This is big. And while everyone's asking about the housewarming and making plans to celebrate, you're asking the real questions. Like as he spoke to his State Farm agent yet about coverage. See, home ownership is one thing, but the right coverage is the real game changer. Even more than your last hot streak is how you protect your legacy. Dropping buckets and bars on the court. Estate Farm agent can more than assist you with finding the right coverage for your new place. If you have a claim, your local agent can help you file it. Yep, that's right. Over the phone, in person, online, or on the app, they're ready to help you. And they don't drop the ball, if you know what I mean. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. From Paul Thomas Anderson comes one battle after another.
D
What's going on, everybody? It's your boy, Juju Green, AKA Straw Hat Goofy. You're a movie guy. And I'm sitting here with the lovely and quite frankly, badass women of one battle for another. We Got Regina Hall, Tiana Taylor, and Chase Infinity. When you first read your character on that script, what did your character remind you of?
E
As you can see, you know, we don't always agree with a lot of things that perfidia do, but for the most part, we see a survivor. We see a woman that's in survival mode. You know, we also see a woman that's unapologetically herself, but then she is also like mysterious and like, you know, she got like a little sex appeal that's like, you know, how she pulling them in like that.
C
You feel me?
E
You know, she's mysterious and she's also like a master manipulator. And she's like a octopus. She can like, get her way out of anything.
C
You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I love that.
B
One battle after another in theaters tomorrow. Experience it in IMAX and other premium formats. Get tickets now Rated R Under 17 not admitted without parent.

All right, y'. All. It's the most wonderful season of the year. All right? So just. Just imagine, y', all, you're sipping a warm drink, some tea or some warm coffee under a blanket. There's candles flickering in the atmosphere. You got your favorite. Your. Your favorite person right next to you. Or you're by yourself, you have peace, there's nobody around. And you turn on your favorite show or movie. Or you open your favorite book that you're reading. That's a page turner. Is that like the best? I love like cuz our Summertime is just like very high energy. You outside when the most. You're trying to have the greatest experiences. But when that fall hits and it's time to just slow down a bit, nothing gets me going. This is when the babies start getting made and everything.
A
Absolutely. I know I was born around in style. I mean I was conceived around this time.
C
Mm.
A
I like fall weather. Um, you know, you get to wear the best clothes in the fall too.
C
It is the best time for fashion for me. Cause I listen. I don't like. Summer is cool. But my back, you know, I know everybody has seen that back. Picture that girl with that black dress up against that ledge.
A
My back that is definitely on my phone and my pictures. Like, I need that back every all.
C
We all need that back. But we all don't have that back fall. We can wear clothes that cover your back. Don't nobody got to see what's back there. And you just. It's more layers, it's cuter. Like what's like a fall ritual or like something that you start doing once the season changes?
A
I guess, like same thing like with spring. I do do a deep clean. Trying to get rid of shit. I've been trying to get rid of shit for a year now. So I did start. This is one thing I did this weekend. Right. Just trying to declutter.
C
Yeah.
A
Get rid of stuff. Because you really like. In my mind, I'm preparing for January. Really. Because this is like over. Once Halloween hits, it's like the year is over. For real.
C
It's the best time, cuz. Halloween. Then there's Thanksgiving, then there's Christmas.
A
Girl, your ass is crazy.
C
I get so happy. Pumpkin spice. Like yesterday was the first.
A
I don't like pumpkin spice.
C
You know, pumpkin wrap me, roll me, eat some pumpkin spice off of me. That's how I feel about it.
A
Like a cinnamon bun.
C
Put your dick in the pumpkin spice, I'mma eat it off.
A
I don't like pumpkin spice candles either. You like that? You burn pumpkin spice candles.
C
I love it. So girls, I encourage girls and guys, I encourage you and everybody else. I encourage you to start. You know, you gotta be inclusive, Chad. Everybody don't identify as one of those no more. And that's cool. You know, whatever. Whatever floats your boats to make you happy. Morning ritual. I encourage everybody this fall to get their morning ritual started. After you listen to this. So like start with. I found like this Asian. I don't know, I can't remember what. Because it was a word I couldn't pronounce or And I can't spell it for y', all, but look online. It is like an Asian morning wake up ritual. And it's like different movements to wake your body up. Like swinging your arms behind your back, swinging them like, like a windmill on both sides, doing, like one heel up and then stretch to the other side with your feet and like just opening up your hips and your back and your spine. And I started doing that in the morning because ever since I broke my foot and I was like standing on that, you know, one knee scooter for six months, I just feel like my hip alignment is off.
A
You need to go to the chiropractor.
C
That's what I know. I need to. I need to make it a. Because when I get up in the morning. All right, Mike Epps did this stand up. No, I think it was. No, it wasn't. Mike Epps. What's the. Dude, Dion Cole. Dion Cole did this stand up comedy show, y', all, and he talked about the women who look younger than they are, but you can tell that they owe how they get up out of chair. And I. That's how I'm starting to feel. Like when I get up out the bed or if I've been sitting a long time, my hips feel stiff. Girl, what the is that? And. And it go like. It's the sound that happened with them now. What the. And I really think it's from my hips being off alignment from being one sided for six months. I really need to go get adjusted. So that Asian.
A
It's my right side of the body. My right side is fucked up because when I'm getting on that dick, I hear my hip crack and my knee crack and my right big toe is fucked up. So I can't do lunges on that side. It's all fucked up on the right side.
C
The whole right side, girl.
A
One of my homegirls, she was saying her guy friend this past weekend, like, just random. Imagine you just talking to somebody. You with like, a guy, and he's like, I heard your hip.
C
Boy, you, boy, you.
A
Because why are you mentioning that over dinner? You heard my. My hip crack? I am a woman of a certain age. Like, yeah, like, I might need to go do a couple more sessions of Pilates and yoga. That is like, yo, get into yoga for the fall, y'. All.
C
Pilates. That's what I want to get into, Pilates. I keep seeing all the girlies. Like, that's the thing. Now everybody's doing Pilates, So I'mma try to get into that because this hip can't be cracking every time I jump up out that. That chair. Right?
A
And the comparison I do, like, for social media, like, is never going to be stuff, right? It is the workout girlies. Okay? I got so many of y' all saved with so many workouts saved. And the older workout girlies, the 58 year olds with the six packs.
C
Yes.
A
That's goals.
C
That is.
A
One was doing all these deadlifts and she was doing a bunch of, you know, squats with the weights and stuff. I'm like, on Sunday, my knee was about to give out with 70 pounds of weight. 70 pound plus 45 the bar. So a lot of weight, right. For me. My knee was about to give out, man.
C
What you was doing with it? Hip, throat, squat, Squat. Okay. Yeah, yeah.
A
My knee was definitely screaming, like, girl, stop.
C
Girl, why are you.
A
And I feel like it was a white bitch in there laughing at me too. Like, I had to look out a little bit. And I could see her face in the mirror that she was standing in front of. And I swear she was, like, smirking at me like, she probably wasn't.
C
Hey, what do you think about praying, like mine right in your mind? Because mentally you smirking at yourself.
A
Somebody's seeing me struggling here, right?
C
Well, that. Because that's what the gym is for.
A
Yeah.
C
It's there for that. So. Yeah. Add. Add something. Add yoga, Add Pilates, Add something physical that opens up them hips, baby, and like, stretches you out. Add that to your ritual. Okay, what about, like, nighttime, A hot.
A
Bath always feel like. Because it starts getting darker early, you know, it just always feels like the days just aren't long enough. Right. And I still don't go to sleep until like, 12, 1 o'. Clock. But I'm always in the bed by like, seven o'.
C
Clock.
A
When it gets dark outside, I feel like it's time to lay down.
C
You be in the bed by seven, but don't sleep till one is crazy.
A
Yes. Cause I be in the bed, like, doing all the things that I didn't get to do. Like the things that you gotta do, like on your phone. Like last night I was up ordering new bedding. So that's one of my things. Like, I ordered me some new sheets, a new mattress, cover all the plus shit, y'. All, Peacock Alley is my favorite. Peacock Alley or S Fair. So it really. I really have to, like, convince myself that it's okay to spend as much money on bedding because that stuff is important.
C
Betting is important.
A
Check your labels, y' all buying a thousand Count a thousand thread count polyester. It's not cotton, right? So you wonder why your back broken.
C
Out, your face broken, face broken out. Your. Your hair, your scarf came up and now your hair look like a mess.
A
Get some good sheets. Change your pillows for the fall.
C
Yeah, get new pillows.
A
You had them pillows for eight years, girl. It's time to get some new pillows. Them pillows is heavy.
C
Ain't that worse than a flat ass pillow? You got to fold four times for it to feel like something.
A
I kind of like a flat pillow a little bit. Like, I have some extra fluffy pillows. And I have recently bought these linen pillows I found in. In TJ Maxx and Home Goods. Sorry, the home. Home, Home Goods. And they got flat really quick, and they only a couple months old, but the. I know it's like breathable, 100% linen.
C
They say flat pillows are better for.
A
You, but really, we not supposed to be sleeping on the bed like that because your body's like, going into the mattress. Like, you're really supposed to be sleeping, like, on the floor.
C
And. And that's why Japanese are. You know that it says that they're more 100 year people, over 100 in Japan than anywhere else in the world.
A
It's like a 100,000 of them.
C
Yeah. Meanwhile, right in America, your life is. Expectancy is in the 80 years.
A
That's it, 7580.
C
So, yeah, we ain't. Right. We don't. Right. We don't sleep. Right. We don't eat right. Yeah.
A
So have you ever used the toilet that. That ceramic hole in the floor?
C
Oh, like in another country. Yes, I went. When I was in the Ukraine, we went to this beautiful theater to listen to opera. Right. In gowns. And then when I went to the bathroom, it was a hole in the flow. I'm like, y' all got me up. I'm not pissing in this hole in the flow.
A
Did they not have a Western toilet as another option in there?
C
No.
A
Oh, wow.
C
Just that hole.
A
She was in gowns.
C
I was confused. And like, did somebod steal the toilet out of this bitch? There's. Did you use it? No, I couldn't.
A
I didn't. It was terrible too, because I just needed to pee. When I went to China, I. I took a train into Guangzhou. So China. I mean, Hong Kong has, like, regular toilets. They have both. When you go to, like, third world countries like Guangzhou, they literally. Most places have that porcelain hole in the floor. And when I. It stunk so bad in the train station's bathroom. Oh, My God, I had to pee. I definitely.
C
I would have peed outside somewhere. I'm not.
A
But they say that, you know, people like to brag on how good the Asian coochie is. I mean, I'll never know because I'm a woman, but men seem to think that coochie is different, and it's probably because the way in which they're. They are using the bathroom, maybe it. Maybe they're. Their situation inside is a little bit different. I don't know. Do we have an extra curve? Do they have an extra curve? Like something's happening? Because they said they got bomb coochie over there. Maybe we need to start squatting.
C
Perhaps.
A
Because the way we even have our kids isn't right? Laying on your back, having a kitten. The way we use the bathroom. Your feet need to be elevated. So squatting kind of puts you in that same position. Kind of, yeah.
C
Or just buy a squatty potty. You can get those, and that'll help you in that. To be in that position over, you know, the toilet instead of trying to stand your big ass up on the toilet seat.
A
Uh, I got a funny story about that. It's this truck driver I used to date. He said he was at a truck stop and he was using a stall, and he heard, like, shit dropping into the toilet in the stall next to him. But he looked down, and he didn't see no feet, right? Just kept hearing. And he started hearing, like, feet, you know? So when he finished in his stall, he said he kicked the door. He kicked the door of the other stall, and it was a Asian guy in there squatting on the toilet.
C
And he was like.
A
So not. You got your dirty ass feet on the toilet in an American western toilet squad. I guess he thought it was a ghost over there taking his or something. He was confused.
C
Imagine you minding your business, taking a. And somebody kicked the door in. I know.
A
What the.
C
You're so vulnerable. You very. This is a very vulnerable position to be in.
A
One wrong move, one wrong move, that shit gonna be everywhere.
C
Shame. All right, so what are your favorite fall foods? Like.
A
What I have been drinking a lot of lately is matcha. Y' all doing matcha tea cold? Actually, I don't really like warm. I like warm tea at night. I might do like a. Y'.
C
All.
A
I've been being kind of fat when it comes to the drinks because I usually drive 30 minutes to. To this Thai Thai restaurant, this Vietnamese restaurant downtown Charleston for my boba tea and shrimp summer rolls. But I've been Making them here at home. And I have done so much research. That's another thing I did over the weekend researching matcha. So I didn't realize that matcha could be upwards $150 for one ounce. Okay. So now I got like. Yes, I have like three. Because matcha is also like natural caffeine. Caffeine, right. So if you want to get like the workout in for the fall, right. Drinking some matcha, take your vitamins with it, your vitamin D, we going to need a lot of that for the fall. We don't have the sun. We already don't get enough sun even in the summer. Right, right. So beefing up on your vitamin, your vitamin D is essential. Right. For the winter and for the fall and winter months. But man, my workouts have been real good. Just hitting it, hitting the gym 30 minutes after the matcha and just taking my vitamin D. Like for real. Cause it just gives you that nice little rush. And I'm sweating.
C
Is there for.
A
Oh, let me add in there. I did, I did. I do be taking creatine now too.
C
Oh yeah, Creatine.
A
Extra reps in.
C
Yeah. And that'll help.
A
You said a particular brand. So I used to buy this Matcha brand that was already like a pre made little shot. It's called Love Matcha. So I ordered. They don't sell it in the store anymore. So I ordered their powder matcha, which is like $24 off Amazon for this small ass in the middle of my hand, little metal container. So Love Matcha is a good one. And this other. Hold on, let me tell y' all.
C
Because.
A
I guess it's pronounced noki. It's N A O K I. It's fine Japanese matcha. And so you want to do this ceremonial grade matcha because you, they have the, the matcha you could cook with. Right. Ceremonial grade is going to be like the highest concentration of caffeine also. And it has thymine in it. And is it cathogens? Anyway, Naoki. Naoki.
C
And how much are you using? That's a small little container. Are you using just like a tablespoon?
A
That is teaspoon. One teaspoon. So I do like a teaspoon and a half though I didn't realize how much caffeine was in matcha. One day I did two matches and I like to pass out, pass out a little bit. Like I felt, I felt so sick. Like I, I had to go lay down. So be careful. One tablespoon. A teaspoon. One teaspoon to a tablespoon no, more than that.
C
I got. I forgot to tell y'. All this why you said that, that you passed out, bruh, this weekend. I didn't want to drink no liquor. I had that nowadays, THC beverage.
A
I never seen that.
C
And I didn't listen to the recommended dosage. And I took two big gulps of that shit because it's got a nice taste. Y', all, when I tell you I was in this. Bitch, I'm starting to see spaceships on banking, bitch. I was so. I was so high. I was scary high. Like, I thought I was gonna start. I think I might have started hallucinating a little bit, y'. All. Like, I got in the. I called my friend. He's in la, so it's like, three hours behind. I was like, I really need your help. I really need you to talk to me. I'm starting to trip. He's like, get in the shower. I was in the phone, in the shower with the phone. Like, just talk to me about something. I was. Took a cold shower. I took a hot shower. I got back out. I was just staring in the mirror at myself, like, close to the mirror. I'm talking about, like, my nose was almost touching the mirror. That's how close I was looking at myself in the mirror. I was trying to watch tv. I was just trying not to spaz. And I had this bottle of kombucha. And I swear that motherfucker was sizzling. I don't know. I don't know.
A
Kombucha do be sizzling. It has sizzle to it.
C
No, it wasn't open, though. It was not open. Wait a minute. You was on drugs? I tell you, that happened to me, like, and I. I was scared to go to sleep. Don't listen. So I say all that to say, like, Ashley is telling y', all, AJ is telling y' all to make sure you look at the recommended dosage of the matcha. If you purchase it, please follow the container instructions.
A
Guys, where did you get the drink from? Did it come from, like, one of those corner stores or something?
C
I know it came from one of the CBD places. The CBD places? Yeah. And it's called nowadays, and it's like a thc, and it comes in a bottle that looks like a liquor bottle. You know, it's glass, it's tall, like a liquor bottle. And it does have a recommended dosage. And. And then it also does, like. So when I Google, if you overdose on it, like, what would happen? And it, you know, said you could start to hallucinate. But don't. Just try to stay calm. Which made me not stay calm. That's when I was like. Like I started hyperventilating. It was crazy. I don't want no more of that, y'. All.
A
Yeah, for sure. Be careful.
C
Okay? Be careful with all that that happened this weekend after one of my dates. But okay, back to your.
A
Yeah, but that's the matcha. And make sure you refrigerate your matcha. And the greener, the lighter, like lime green looking color. You don't want like a dark doodoo brown looking orange. Green. I'm. Excuse me. Green looking matcha. That's not like the good matcha. Your matcha should be like, like really, really green. Like a light green. That's going to be like the better green.
C
Try it.
A
Man, I'm addicted. I'm addicted to matcha. Because I don't like coffee.
C
I like matcha. I always get like a matcha latte from Starbucks. But it's looking spicy.
A
If y' all gonna complain about the price of it, Just think when you go to Starbucks every single day for your matcha latte, your lavender matcha latte, whatever that shit costs. How much? So I can get at least 30 of them out this, you know. Yeah, $24 at least. I'll eat 20 of them. 20 drinks.
C
And that's definitely a lot cheaper if you think about it. So my thing for fall is a crock pot. A crock pot. I hate to see me coming during the fall because everything you can just dump off. There's so many crock pot recipes that are so easy that you can wake up in the morning, throw that shit in the crock pot, and by the time you get home, it's done. A soup. A soup. Hate to see me coming during the fall. I like to make a taco chicken tortilla soup. That's what it is. Chicken tortilla soup I love to make during the fall. And then the zupa toscana. I think that's how you pronounce it. I don't know. It's kind of like the one that they got at Olive Garden, but at home it's got like the potatoes, the kale, the ground beef.
A
Like wedding soup. Isn't it called weddings? Wedding soup has like those little.
C
I've never.
A
Noodles in it. Those little.
C
I don't. It ain't no noodles in it. I don't think it's just potatoes and spinach and cheese and bacon. Some, you know, you put bacon on top that's why you probably don't know because you don't eat none of that.
A
No, not the meat anyway. But yeah, crock pot stuff. I see. I don't now. I did recently start making me some shrimp and gravy because I love shrimp and gravy. But I hadn't been eating it for years because I don't eat bacon. That would be the only when I did used to eat meat. I love shrimp and grits and shrimp and rice. But you got to cook it with the bacon, the pork. That's really the only time I would eat the bacon. But I have since learned y' all how to cook my shrimp and gravy without meat. I use seafood stock. So you brown your shrimp with the flour just like you would do, you know, making the regular one. And you do the seafood stock instead of putting water in there and put a little bit of that smoke flavored in there. Cause that's really what the meat is for. Like that smoke flavor from the bacon is what you're looking for, bitch.
C
It's good, it's lit.
A
That's a whole week, A whole week worth of shrimp and gravy. Some rice or grits in the morning. That's a fat ass episode.
C
Okay, next week we're gonna talk about how not to be fat.
B

Because you're always doing the most. Oh yeah. The food to cook or order out. Don't forget to put it in the group chat so everybody can already see who gonna be there. D
It's your boy, Juju. Green, AKA Straw hat, Goofy. You're a movie guy. And I'm sitting here with the lovely and quite frankly, badass women of one battle for another. We got Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infinity. When you first read your character on that script, what did your character remind you of?
E
As you can see, you know, we don't always agree with a lot of things that perfidia do, but for the most part, we see a survivor. We see a woman that's in survival mode. You know, we also see a woman that's unapologetically herself, but then she is also, like, mysterious and like, you know, she got like a little sex appeal that's like, you know, how's she pulling them in like that?
C
You feel me?
E
You know, she's mysterious and she's also like a master manipulator and she's like a octopus. She can like, get her way out of anything.
C
You know what I'm saying?
A
Yeah, that's a love tag.

C
What about like, what you have in your home? Like, do you. I know you said you upgraded your bed, but like, is there any, like, decorations you do for the fall?
A
Or is it not so much? I am in the middle of kind of redecorating. I'm looking for a sofa. I've been on TikTok every day, all day, looking at the cloud sofa Girlies. And because all these beds that are on like Amazon, Wayfair, all these different sofa companies, it's hard to know what shit gonna be like when you get it home. When it comes delivered to your house.
C
Yeah. And it come in a plastic bag, like a Ziploc bag, and you gotta set it open. That shit go poof.
A
Or like five or six boxes and then you have the cushions. Yeah. Like I'm afraid to order a damn $3,000 sofa. And that shit be some bullshit when.
C
It gets me where I like to look for stuff like that. Facebook Marketplace.
A
I don't want a sofa, though. I don't wanna use for. From like, you know. Hell no. Cause you just. You never know. People be having be animals. Like, I got a cat, but I don't want your with a cat.
C
Yeah.
A
On it.
C
That's fair, right?
A
And so now because I'm living alone now, I can get what I want and not have a man it up.
C
Okay.
A
That's where I'm at. Like, I really was holding off. Like, look at my little cute little. My little. My little dining table seating area here.
C
Oh, that is cute and cozy.
A
You know what I'm saying? Like, I could not have done that with a man living in here. Like you could have brown girl without nagging him about sitting down on it. Why you sitting on those chairs.
C
Watching.
A
His every move with this white. Like, I want a white sofa. Like, I gotta do that before I have kids and another man living in the house.
C
I think my greatest accent for fall is candles. I love, I love, like throw a pumpkin somewhere in the house. Nude tones, like new neutral, new colors. There's got to be like a pumpkin somewhere. A little pumpkin. It don't have to be a real pumpkin, but a pumpkin got to sit somewhere in this just to let everybody know that it's fall. And then it's the fragrances that are in the home. That cozy fragrance just sets off the vibe in your house.
A
I feel like, oh, my favorite fragrance, like perfume fragrance for fall, winter months. Is that vanilla tobacco from Tom Ford?
C
Oh, yeah.
A
Vanilla. That's my shit.
C
Yeah.
A
Around this time. Because it just goes. That's probably the only pumpkin spice smelling something I want to smell. I love that on my skin.
C
It doesn't like my. You know how there's your invisible note. That is you. That one. Don't. That don't smell good.
A
Don't do it for you.
C
It don't smell nice on my. My skin. For whatever reason. That tobacco, that, that musky tobacco Ness just make Me stink. Yeah, I love vanilla. Vanilla. Vanilla anything. Yeah, like that vanilla candle you supposed to get.
A
You said you already got it.
C
I do have it. But I can have two. I can have two. So there's. There's that.
A
I didn't see them. They not in there no more. For real now they gone. They not. Yeah, they gone. They might come back for fall. They might come back. Is this the first week of fall?
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah, this is the very first week of fall.
A
What y' all bitches wearing? Cause you know, winter and fall is really for like bitches who can put that shit on.
C
Yeah.
A
Cause I be feeling like them young girls don't know what the hell to wear if they can't be naked.
C
Mm.
A
Like this is boot season. Nice fly sweater season. Everything could be so form fitted, but you gotta get. You gotta really put that shit on or know how to. For winter and fall.
C
Yes. And layers. The layers. The boot boots. I'm ready to pull my boots out now and I know I've been shopping.
A
For boots in summer.
C
Yeah. I mean, if you got. If you bought some boots in the summer and spring, you got good sales. But now they going up. Steve Manning got some cute boots that they came out with too. Like for this season. I was like, okay, Steve Manning, y' all came out with some really nice stuff this season.
A
Steve Madden be having some nice stuff. I don't know who's copying who though. Could it be that some of the designers are copying them? We would never know. Like, they just always look like they got a knockoff or some shit. But who came out with it first. Sometimes I feel like Steve Madden came out with it first.
C
Right. And then. And then the upper designer's copy. You never know.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
C
Louis Vuitton got some cute boots too for this fall that I ain't getting.
A
I don't know. That's another thing. Like, listen, I sell, I resell a lot of things. That's another thing I do end of the year, start reselling so I could buy more. I will buy somebody's pre loved boot.
C
Right.
A
The schooling all up with it depending, you know, if I can get it at a fraction of cost because there's some.
C
Oh, you got those two Fendi boots that were like.
A
Those is brand new actually when I got them. I got those from the realreal. I shop on the realreal a lot and some of that stuff on there is new with tags and bags and boxes. Yeah. It's not always from an individual. Oh, even yes, sometimes it is from an individual. But Unworn. I got shit with tags on that I put on to the real real. So, yeah, I've been in my boots and shit from the real Real child. It's some. It's some. Some Giuseppe boots on there right now. I want. But I don't know if my leg gonna be, like, in order.
C
My calf ain't going in.
A
And, you know, now they charge you to return. So when you buy an item from there, you can just purchase it for the price that they have. Or it's like you gotta add $15 to be able to return it, just in case. Yes.
C
So you gotta add $15, like, in advance if you might wanna return.
A
Return it? Yes. Other than that, it's.
C
Ain't that a scam?
A
It is, but I mean, people probably buying and returning it. Like, you buying used and returning it.
C
Using it and returning it.
A
Yeah, using it and returning it. So they probably had to put a stop to that.
C
I really need to, like. Because I see people, like, selling their clothes online. I probably need to do that. I got so much that I don't wear. I'm talking about so much shit. Like, I think I'm a clothing hoarder. I buy shit and then never wear it. It's so much shit with tags on it that I can't even fit. And then I'd be like, I'm gonna get into that. Ain't got into it yet.
A
That'd be the motivation, girl. I got some jeans from bb. I got some BB and Arden B jeans that I still be holding on to in your closet, because I'mma get in them.
C
I got some dresses that I wore to homecoming when I was still in college.
A
I got a wedding dress. I got a wedding dress and a funeral dress that I probably have worn this dress to several weddings, and I have worn this. I wore my funeral dress to my friend's funeral the other day. And I have had that dressed since 19. Since I was like, 19 to 20, I've had.
C
That's your funeral dress.
A
Yes. It's very cute. People always give me compliments, like, it's.

Newer clothes like that. Because I definitely have the dress that I wore to my grandmother's funeral in my closet. And I never will wear that again. But it's just. I still have it because it was the dress I wore to my grandmother's funeral. And that's the exact definition of hoarding, because I've associated a memory with this item. And that's why you can't go, yeah, okay, but that's a com. That's another episode.
A
Let go.
C
All right, so let's get into, like a guided meditation to start our fall season.
A
Yeah. So if y' all are driving, please don't partake in this. Okay? Just, I don't know, listen to the episode again. Yeah, Give us another download. Right when you get home and stationary, but we're going to do a quick little five minute guided meditation for fall. Okay? All right, so we want you to sit. You going to do it, Tam?
C
Yeah, I'm about to turn my mic off and close my eyes.
A
All right, so we're going to sit comfortably, okay. Either on a chair with your feet flat on the ground or on a cushion. Rest your hands gently in your lap, close your eyes. If that feels safe, go ahead and do it now. Okay, so we're going to begin with the breath. Okay? You're going to take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Real heavy, just full mouth breathe out in through your nose, Full breath out through your mouth. Okay? So take one more slow, deep inhale through your nose and release it fully through your mouth as if you're inhaling a soft fog into winter air. Do this about one more time, letting each exhale carry away all of that summer hustle, bustle, tension. All right, now I want you to visualize winter's calmness, okay? Because, you know, fall leads us into this colder, cozy month. So picture yourself in a quiet, you know, fall landscape perhaps, you know, trees are falling. You see all that nice orangey brown reds, all the different tones, right? Blanketing the earth and its stillness. The air is so crisp, clear and fresh. Just notice how nature slows down in this season. The trees are getting kind of bare, the animals are resting, and the world moves more softly. Okay? And this is your affirmation and stillness as you continue to breathe. Don't forget to breathe because y' all know when we're stressed out, we don't breathe. So when you catch yourself not breathing, take a deep breath in and deep breath out. And it's okay to keep restarting as many times as you need to. And here's our affirmation here at we talk back. I welcome rest. You know, last week we had a challenge where we're going to challenge you to get eight hours of sleep. We are doing that for fall. So I welcome rest. I honor this season of quiet. Stillness restores me. Okay, scan your body. Take one last deep breath in, holding the quiet strength of fall inside. And exhale slowly, releasing what no longer serves you. And when you're ready. Open your eyes and carry this stillness into your day. Ew.
C
That was so good, aj. Yay. I loved it. I imagine charging y' all bitches for the fall. I imagine myself walking in a park and like, rustling leaves under my feet, holding something hot to drink in my hand. Yes, I can't wait.
A
To go on three more dates.
C
Yes, there was a nigga beside me in my imagination. But I ain't say that part.
A
Y' all enjoy that? Y' all like that?
C
I really love it. I really love that. I really love fall. Do you have a last. Last.
A
Release? Release for the fall while all the. The leaves are dying. That's the. That's the thing about nature, right? How it restores, how it gets rid and grows anew. This is what you do in the fall, right? So map out next year, this fall. And all the things that aren't serving you, let them go. That's my last. Last.
C
Yep. I agree with her. You know, fall teaches us the beauty of release and letting go. So same Let go of all the things that don't serve you. Love yourself more this fall. Be a little selfish this fall. It's okay. Be a little self serving this fall and let go the things that ain't serving you. And I love y' all so much, and I'm so excited that you're entering this season where we talk back.
A
And if you get pregnant, okay, just know you'll have that baby by summertime.
C
And you can be back. Do it now, though.
A
