to We Talk Back podcast, a production
Guest 1
of iHeartRadio and the Black Effect Network.
Tam Bam
We're just two unapologetically black women with an opinion who talk back.
AJ Holiday
What's up, y'?
Tam Bam
All?
AJ Holiday
It's your girl, A.J. holiday. What's up, Tam bizzle?
Tam Bam
Hey, not Tam bizzle.
Guest 2
Hey.
Tam Bam
I love y'.
Tony Ayo
All.
Tam Bam
I missed y'.
Guest 2
All.
Tam Bam
Thank y' all for coming back again this week. How was your weekend, girl?
Guest 1
Oh, it was 4th of July, right?
Tam Bam
It was. So
Guest 1
I went to my best friend's house. She had like a little get together at her dad's house.
AJ Holiday
Lot of drinking.
Guest 1
I didn't drink any liquor, but I drunk wine and still ruined my Sunday because I just was slow and fucking lethargic.
AJ Holiday
So that's all it was eating.
Guest 1
And I still was kind of like trying to stick to my live it not diet.
Guest 2
Get it? Yeah, I'll live it.
Guest 1
So I was still trying to stay away from carbs and sugar chow. So whatever that looked like for a holiday weekend, let me tell you, I
Tam Bam
had all these plans. Like, Caresha was at Stats on Sunday. I was like, yeah, I'm outside this weekend. I had plans to go to barbecues, pool parties. I didn't go to shit. I did not go to nothing. Like, I just could not be bothered. Like, it was so hot. It was next level hot. And I was like, I'm not. I can't move. And I didn't. After I got off work, I took a shower. Was like, yeah, I'm take a shower. Take a power nap. I woke up, it was the next day.
Guest 1
Girl, you got to lay down when your body tell you to. Yeah, so that ain't a bad thing. Stamps is like the longest running club now at this point in Colombia, right? Yeah, that's been open like a good 10 years now. Yeah, that's. They doing real well.
Tam Bam
Yeah, they. They having a good run and they still bring out all the best artists. And it's big inside, you know, so they can pack it out. Yeah, but I ain't seen.
Guest 1
Had seen like a. She was performing or it was just like a meet and greetings.
Tam Bam
It was just like hosting.
Guest 1
No, she just been in there standing around.
Tam Bam
Got it. Yeah. Dancing a little bit, I'm sure.
Guest 1
Got it. Well, let's get into sins.
Tam Bam
Let's get into it.
Guest 1
So I saw this article.
AJ Holiday
Listen, I don't know what's real or
Guest 1
what's fake on the Internet. I feel like some of these headlines, it just match stupid Internet news. Whether it's real or not, it's stupid shit Sins. So this article and I. I do believe that this is an accurate or real article, but it says one third men in America are not working or looking for a job. Right now, the male labor force participation rate dropped to 67%. So it says a growing share of American men. And this is not just black men. Okay, so don't become a fuss. A growing share of American men are sitting outside the workforce entirely, raising new concerns about the direction of the US Economy and the long term social effects of men becoming disconnected from work. According to recent labor data, the male labor force participation rate has fallen to around 67% for men ages 16 and older, meaning roughly one in three men are not working and are not actively looking for a job. The labor force participation rate counts people who either have a job or are actively seeking one. So men outside that group are not counted as unemployed. They are considered out of the labor force. So if you are 16 plus and they don't see you working anywhere, the assumption is that you don't work or you're not generating, you're not producing. The decline is part of a decades long trend. Federal labor projections show that men ages 16 and older had a labor force participation rate of 73.3 in 2024. I mean, excuse me, 2004. 69.2% in 2014 and 68% in 2024. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that that figure could fall to 65.8 by 2034. And I probably should have just skipped some of this, but I wanted to understand why this is happening. Right. So it says several factors are driving the drop. More older men are retiring. Some younger men are staying in school longer. That's a good thing. Some have disabilities or health issues and are seeking, excuse me, that are keeping them from seeking work. There's also a mismatch in the labor market. Many of the fastest growing jobs are in fields like healthcare and education. While some traditionally male heavy industries have faced slower growth or job loss. Yeah, the headline can sound like an unemployment crisis, but it's different from the unemployment rate. A man who is not working but is also not searching for work is not counted as unemployed. That means the unemployment rate can stay relatively low even while millions of men are no longer participating participating in the force at all. So do we think they're.
AJ Holiday
Well, you know, are these, are these where the scamming ass niggas at?
Tam Bam
That's what I'm about to say. It's funny that you mention this because I went to brunch with my homegirl on a Tuesday afternoon and it was like packed as fuck. And I was like, why is nobody at work?
Guest 2
Why is there so many people at
Tam Bam
brunch on a Tuesday at 11 o'? Clock? And I'm talking about. It was all kind of people in there. I'm like, nobody works anymore. No, nobody works.
Guest 1
I've always thought for a long time that white men didn't work because they oftentimes they're. They're investing, right? They like day. Day traders and stuff like that. You see them out in the middle of the day all the time.
Guest 2
Right.
Guest 1
They play golf in the middle of the day.
AJ Holiday
So I, I think maybe a lot
Guest 1
more, you know, a lot more black men may be getting into stock market, that type of stuff, or they're entrepreneurship
Tam Bam
income that doesn't require you to sit in an office or at a desk.
Guest 1
Right.
Tam Bam
Or in a factory or something like that.
Guest 1
So technically they're not unemployed. I just wonder how they collect the data for real. Right, right. Or maybe they go off of like, taxes and stuff like that. Because if you're not filing taxes or taxes being taken out of a paycheck by way of a. A company you're working at, like how kind of off the radar, basically. So I don't know. I mean, I've been one of them.
Guest 2
But why only men?
Tam Bam
I saw a lot of women in there, too.
AJ Holiday
Women probably be working from home and
Guest 1
they just be dipping out, you know what I'm saying? Dipping out on the job. Who knows?
AJ Holiday
I don't know.
Tam Bam
When I'm doing hair, I have clients
Guest 2
in there with two laptops and they
Tam Bam
left working two jobs at the same time while they're getting their hair done. So.
Guest 1
Yeah, so I don't know. I don't know.
AJ Holiday
But it's kind of telling, though, you know what I'm saying? Like, you got women who are making
Guest 1
their standards even more higher, right? And then the men are complaining about it because there are certain qualifications to get coochie that, you know, women are now just now trying to enforce and
AJ Holiday
they be mad because they don't got the money for the. Yeah, I got the money for the boost.
Guest 2
I got the pussy for the money. I don't know.
AJ Holiday
Y' all better get to work. And this is not just black people, Black men. This is just the total sum of American men. What the y' all doing playing video games? You know, I think wasn't this the goal, though? Wasn't this the whole goal with AI
Guest 1
was for, you know, people to not
AJ Holiday
have to do, like, all these trivial type jobs anymore? Like, I would take care of it
Guest 1
so we can spend more time being creatives. And you guys, everybody's a. Yeah, everybody's a social media influencer now.
Tam Bam
But I saw this. A video of a. Of a robot trying to shovel snow.
Guest 2
Fucking hilarious. We're not there yet. We are from where we need to be for AI the air takeover child.
Guest 1
Well, they at least trying to get the. Those, the self driving 18 wheelers and stuff like that, which is very scary to me. Cause you know how much damage an 18 wheeler can cause.
Tam Bam
That's terrifying.
AJ Holiday
When I was in Atlanta, in Atlanta for the live show, I could not believe all these.
Guest 1
What do they call it?
AJ Holiday
Autonomous cars driving around like people actually getting in them and allowing these cars
Guest 2
to drop them places they would never get.
AJ Holiday
They would never. This is total recall.
Tam Bam
First of all, I need somebody else life on the line with me. Not just mine.
Guest 2
Fuck that, right?
AJ Holiday
Like what? And then what if. See this? My mind go take shit even further. Like we already know a certain amount
Guest 1
of people gotta die every year, right?
AJ Holiday
So now you calculating.
Guest 1
All our cars now have computers in them where they can make your brakes fuck up or they can cut your engine off while you driving on an interstate causing accident.
AJ Holiday
Now you hopping in the car with
Guest 1
a robot driving or whoever.
AJ Holiday
You know, the car is driving by itself. What if they just need to take a few people out Today we're going. We're gonna do y' all in these cars the hell.
Tam Bam
And it would be so simple.
Guest 1
Won't get me like an accident. Yeah, you then your family.
Guest 2
At least let me get in the driver's seat.
Guest 1
God damn. I'm grabbing the wheel.
Tam Bam
Yeah, so I can.
Guest 2
I can take over and jump off like that should be an option.
Tam Bam
Like you just sit in the driver's seat.
Guest 2
No, you sitting in the back.
Guest 1
No, these people nuts, man.
Tony Ayo
Nuts.
Tam Bam
All right, so listen to this study reveals that women are often right in arguments.
Guest 1
Yes.
Guest 2
Not that we needed a study to notice, but here we are. All right. According to a study by the University
Tam Bam
of Cambridge involving over 300,000 participants across 57 countries, found that women excel in understanding emotions, which aids in resolving conflicts. The study using the Reading the Mind and the Eyes test revealed that women scored higher on tests measuring emotional awareness and empathy. This ability allows them to interpret emotional cues more accurately, improving their communication and problem solving skills during arguments. Women's heightened emotional insight helps them make informed decisions, giving them an advantage in conflict resolution. Yeah, I mean they wasted time doing this study.
Guest 2
Who the fuck didn't know that women are better at this, you know, and
AJ Holiday
that's why men hate it because they don't be having a response for the shit.
State Farm Ad Voice
Right?
Guest 1
It usually be some shit like, man, you crazy.
Guest 2
Let me talk. See, that's the problem. You won't let me talk.
AJ Holiday
And they say nothing, but, go ahead, I'm gonna let you say nothing.
Guest 2
And then instead of actually talking, all you're going to do is keep saying, hi, don't let you talk.
Guest 1
Oh, a nigga is schedule a talk with you like, we need to talk, and then you end up the only person talking.
AJ Holiday
I thought you said we need to talk. Why am I the only person expressing all my grievances and you have zero to say, right? What the hell? We don't need to talk.
Guest 1
Actually, I'm talking myself out this relationship. That's what's happening.
AJ Holiday
Listen, I remember being in couples therapy.
Guest 1
Like, we were there to stay together. Well, he was there to stay together. I really went to couples therapy to break up.
AJ Holiday
And once I sat and told this therapist our story and the things that had transpired over the years, it took
Guest 1
approximately four hours to do so, and we had to pay that man well. Right, right.
AJ Holiday
Once I sat there and he had no objections. Like, he's on the phone too.
Guest 1
Like, he had nothing to say. Like, you lying. Nothing. No objections to any of the shit I was fucking saying for four hours.
AJ Holiday
And after I said all those things
Guest 1
out loud, I'm like, okay, yeah, this is. This is it. Now I feel stupid. I feel stupid regurgitating all this shit, all this bullshit.
AJ Holiday
And he had nothing to say.
Guest 1
No arguments, no objections. You know, add your grievances in.
AJ Holiday
What's the problems you got with me?
Guest 2
He's like, you got it, you got it, you got it.
AJ Holiday
Like, all this shit is fucking true, men. I don't know, man. And now a who can't argue with you like charlamagne. Now we calling them sassy.
Guest 2
I hate to go back and forth with this nigga,
Tam Bam
right?
Guest 1
It's exhausting.
Guest 2
Here come this nigga with actual points
AJ Holiday
and data and articles. This shit still be skewed, though. Like when people start sending you articles and she like, listen, I can also
Guest 1
find some shit online that supports what I'm also saying.
Guest 2
You can find some shit online to support anything.
Guest 1
Yes. So, I mean, you still don't have a point, my nigga. I argue a nigga to the death. I argue anybody to the death, actually.
Guest 2
I get tired, I turn into them. I turn into a nigga. You got it, you got it, you got it.
AJ Holiday
I was just telling my mom a couple weeks ago. Like, the difference between her and I is that like, she gets so flustered and upset to where she can't even
Guest 1
articulate what her points. Right?
AJ Holiday
I get mad because I know I
Guest 1
have overly over time also in this
AJ Holiday
moment and in previous moments, I have explicitly stated expectations. All these things. And you act like you don't understand. That's when I get fucking mad. That's when I start yelling like I'm
Guest 1
at least tell you what time it is or what I expect.
AJ Holiday
And you got the opportunity to also
Guest 1
do the same, right?
AJ Holiday
I get frustrated and start yelling.
Guest 1
When a nigga act like they don't understand that that gets on my damn nerves.
Tam Bam
Well, sometimes people be committed to misunderstanding you. And that's why you just gotta like be like, you got it. Because some people, literally, their commitment is more to misunderstanding than understanding.
Guest 1
I agree, y'. All.
AJ Holiday
Beyonce daddy is out here on Beyonce
Guest 1
Internet saying, we've been had that check when Beyonce was. He said 19, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85.
AJ Holiday
Like Beyonce grew up in a nice ass house. We had one of the biggest hair salons, best hair salons in Houston, Texas. I invested in my wife and that's how we were able to create Destiny's Child. Because I guess for years people have
Guest 1
been telling him, or you know, insinuating, right, that the Knowles family wasn't successful up until, you know, Destiny's Child, right?
Tam Bam
Like Destiny's Child made them rich. And he said I was. I had a million when Beyonce was 4. Please don't play with me. Let me pop my shit. But I'm trying to figure out what
Guest 1
the hell was he doing on TS Madison podcast.
Tam Bam
Yeah, that was. How did that happen and why?
Guest 1
I have no idea. I have no idea. I wish he would come on. We talk back for sure.
Tam Bam
Me too.
Guest 1
Give me one second. Ah, what the hell.
Tam Bam
But methy knows you might fuck around
Guest 2
and be giving Beyonce a brother.
AJ Holiday
Beyonce, he got like a younger kid, right?
Guest 1
Mm, yeah, he got like a younger kid, like a little girl, I guess that they really don't fuck with like that that he made while still married.
Tam Bam
I thought it was a little boy
Guest 1
or maybe he got both. I'm pretty sure it was a little girl though.
AJ Holiday
But yeah, he like quit playing with him.
Guest 2
Seem like he a real nigga though.
AJ Holiday
No, I definitely.
Guest 1
I do. I like him. And you know, after Tina Knowles last divorce, I'm like, girl, you might be the problem because I would watch some of the interviews between her and her ex husband.
Tam Bam
She just.
AJ Holiday
She just randomly say outlandish shit.
Guest 1
And she make a motherfucker smell feel this little.
AJ Holiday
And that man was fine as hell.
Guest 1
Okay. Not saying looks to everything. I don't know what else he had. He's an actor, but it just seemed
Guest 2
like it was fine.
Guest 1
Yes.
Tam Bam
Like the fine old man, how you that? How you fumble him? But Tina fine too. She fine for life.
Guest 1
Extra.
Guest 2
Yeah, I heard that gumbo way hitting on Texas rodeo. But he was fire,
Guest 1
you know, quit playing.
AJ Holiday
Matthew.
Guest 2
It's hard to mass produce gumbo though, like, and just have it consistent.
AJ Holiday
I think it should be one of the easiest things. No, I mean, it's just really easy.
Tam Bam
I'd be feeling like it's hard to
Guest 2
get like big ass batches enough to
Tam Bam
feed a rodeo to all taste consistent. But I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I ain't never made gumbo before.
Guest 1
I mean, me either. But I made like okra soup and stuff like that. And I mean, really, it's same all your vegetables and then it just boils down to your seasoning.
Guest 2
Right?
Guest 1
For real. So.
Guest 2
But that's the part though.
Guest 1
She probably was making that white lady gumbo,
Guest 2
right? The white side. Because I know it's a little white mixing in there. No shade. Because you know what I have? I know it's white people that listen to the show and be like, they hate us, but we don't. Y' all know, y' all don't be putting that much season on.
Guest 1
I feel like black people over season things. So I'm kind of like in the middle with it. They, you know, we will put every seasoning in the cabinet. And that's not cooking.
AJ Holiday
It's not cooking.
Guest 1
If you putting everything.
AJ Holiday
Why everything tastes like lorries, you know what I'm saying?
Guest 1
Why everything tastes like seasoning, salt.
Tam Bam
Let me tell you something. I was at one of my white friend's house and I was making chicken
Guest 2
and I think like, I had something to prove with the seasoning. So I went a little crazy. Both of us had to choke that chicken down. Like, give me some water, God damn it.
AJ Holiday
It was salty.
Tam Bam
Yeah, it was too salty. Yeah, it was all my.
Guest 2
It was my fault because I was just like, they don't season. And I just, I went too far. The ancestors told me to stop and I said, more.
AJ Holiday
Yeah. Like, I feel like you can season
Guest 1
more with like your herbs and, and vegetables and stuff like that too. Like, I use a lot of onions, garlic. Like, I don't use a whole bunch of salt in my food.
AJ Holiday
And then Black people be having multiple multi seasonings that already has sodium in it. So now you add in regular salt plus every. All these other mixed seasonings, you adding
Guest 1
to some shit also got salt in it. Like girl saltiness.
Tam Bam
Right?
Guest 2
And then wonder why we got.
Tam Bam
What is it?
Guest 2
Congestive heart failure.
AJ Holiday
Exactly.
Guest 1
High blood pressure.
Tam Bam
High blood pressure.
AJ Holiday
Leave that goddamn accent alone.
Guest 1
That msg.
AJ Holiday
Anyway, y', all, let's get into this week's episode. So every week something new is dominating
Guest 1
social media a lot. But the trends are not random.
AJ Holiday
And I, you know, I do think
Guest 1
it's like it's social programming as far as I'm concerned. But they do reveal what we're afraid
AJ Holiday
of, what we're chasing, who we idolize. Okay.
Guest 1
And what we're willing to overlook for the sake of entertainment.
AJ Holiday
So this episode asks whether today's viral moments are entertaining us or exposing us.
Guest 1
Let's talk about it.
Tam Bam
All right. Let's get into it. We'll be right back.
State Farm Ad Voice

Cal Penn
See Terms hey everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Irsay, The Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast I'm sitting down with Lily Chu, the author of the Audible original romantic comedy Just Kiss Already. It's a story about a forensic anthropologist who secretly writes mystery novels, an actress who adapts his book into a film, and what happens when a meme and a media tour collide with a slow burn romance. It's performed by Simu Liu and Philippa Hsu, and it is an absolute blast.
Lily Chu
When you actually hear the performance, you realize that other people are taking your words and what you thought was kind of a straightforward sentence like the cat in the corner is black. In my head it's the cat in the corner is black. Not the dog, not the gerbil. But someone else might say it, the cat in the corner is black. That's always fascinating to me how they just bring in all these different nuances and really make it fun and interesting and distinctive.
Cal Penn
Listen to Earsay the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club on the iHeartradio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
AJ Holiday
All right, y', all, so we're back.
Guest 1
And let me ask you this, Tammy.
AJ Holiday
What was a trend that made you
Guest 1
think we losing our minds? Anything you could think of?
Tam Bam
You know what? This is not necessarily social media, but like with doordash And Uber eats having people leave your food on the ground. There was a time.
AJ Holiday
I know you ain't talking.
Guest 1
Those are your favorite things.
Guest 2
Exactly.
Tam Bam
But there was a time, if a delivery person left your food on the ground, you would be livid.
Guest 1
Right.
Tam Bam
You would be irate.
Guest 2
Why is my pizza on the ground now?
Guest 1
It's normal.
Tam Bam
Put my pizza on the ground and I'll meet it there. That's. You know, that's weird that that's normal now.
Guest 1
Yeah. I don't do the Uber eats and all that stuff because I just don't know how these people cars are. I mean, recently I had an ants in my car because I was parked by ant nest and it was raining daily. I had hella ants in my car. I had to fumigate my car.
AJ Holiday
So I can only imagine you have people who have cockroaches in their car.
Target Ad Voice
Right.
AJ Holiday
You don't know how these people cars
Guest 1
look, how their hands look like.
AJ Holiday
I just. It's already enough that somebody else is
Guest 1
cooking my food in a restaurant.
AJ Holiday
Now I'm trusting somebody to put it
Guest 1
in their car and bring it while they picking boogers and digging they ass to drop it off on my porch where more ants and bugs and a dog could possibly come grab it.
AJ Holiday
Like, it's just.
Guest 1
Yeah. Cool on that trend.
Tam Bam
Listen, they staple the bags now. They staple it shut. You can't get into it.
Guest 1
Or they use the receipt to, like, tape it closed.
Tam Bam
Yeah. So you can tell if it's been tampered with. Because I know one time somebody ate half of my food. I could tell, like, your fries is missing.
Guest 2
It wasn't even fries.
Tam Bam
It was like chicken over rice. And it looked like they ate half of it. And then they took, like, a fork and like, smooth what was left out and make it look full because it was so lightweight. And I would order this meal all the time, so I knew, like, what the portion size looked like.
Guest 1
Girl.
Guest 2
What?
Tam Bam
It definitely ate half of my food.
Guest 1
Shame.
Tam Bam
Fucking fat ass.
AJ Holiday
Let me see. I think when we started doing, like, the crate challenge. That's now during COVID that's really when
Guest 1
people lost their minds the fucking most. Because people was in the house and just doing anything on the Internet for clicks, likes and shares. I swear to God, that goddamn crate
AJ Holiday
challenge, half y' all niggas that was doing that shit ain't have no healthcare.
Guest 1
You got broken bones now.
Tam Bam
I think one girl died, broke her neck.
AJ Holiday
Like, what was that?
Tam Bam
Boredom?
AJ Holiday
What was that like, why were y' all climbing out those damn crates like
Guest 1
that in the building pyramids.
Tam Bam
I'm talking about tall ass crates.
AJ Holiday
Where the fuck y' all got the crates from? Where the crates came from.
Guest 2
Exactly.
Tam Bam
I haven't seen climbing they stupid ass up there.
AJ Holiday
The only place I remember seeing crates like that was when, you know, working at my aunt restaurant when I was a kid. And I don't even think they have crates like that anymore for sodas. Where the hell y' all got all those crates from?
Guest 2
I don't know.
AJ Holiday
They sell crates in the store.
Guest 2
2020.
Tam Bam
Because it's like 20, 20, 21. Where did y' all find him? Craze.
AJ Holiday
Yeah. And like for people to think that they just all of a sudden just somebody said, hey, let's do this. And then it just went viral. I just don't agree.
Guest 1
Right.
AJ Holiday
I think the first person who did
Guest 1
it was a fucking CIA agent. And then y' all niggas picked it up on the Internet.
AJ Holiday
We aren't creating these trends oftentimes, right?
Tam Bam
Cause why?
AJ Holiday
I don't know. But I even think like during COVID like with pickleball.
Guest 1
Right? Pickleball became very popular then.
AJ Holiday
But I know words have power, so I'm like, is this like a trigger word for something? Because how is it all of a sudden everything and it's still everything is pickleball.
Tam Bam
Pickleball. Ain't nothing but throwing the ball at the wall.
AJ Holiday
That's jail shit.
Guest 2
Low key tennis, right?
Tony Ayo
Yes.
AJ Holiday
Like, it just like. It's almost like a trigger word for something to then happen there.
Guest 1
And there's another word I refuse to say.
AJ Holiday
So soda. So.
Guest 1
So do so remember on Tick Tick
AJ Holiday
Tick Tock, it was like, this is. So what was.
Guest 1
How did people say it? D E M U R E O. Yes.
Guest 2
Demir.
Guest 1
Yes. I refuse to say that shit because why?
AJ Holiday
What was that? I. I saw where it started with
Guest 1
a guy on TikTok. Yeah. Makeup artist.
AJ Holiday
Was he just like, this is very. I'm like, but why did. Why did that become a Trend? Like how 6, 7, 6, 7, 6 7.
Tam Bam
There is no rhyme or reason why. You even ask the kids why and they don't even know why. It's just.
AJ Holiday
That's what I'm saying. Have you ever listened to the song that 67 shit came from?
Guest 1
Yes. And it's not good.
Tam Bam
So I thought it was a guy who. I thought it was like Lamelo Ball or one of those ball niggas. And they was asking him how tall he was. Like, like 6, 6, 6, 7.
Guest 1
No, it's a song associated with that 67 shit.
Tam Bam
Did it come before that conversation or
Guest 1
after, I think after. I mean, or maybe before. I don't know. I don't know. Yeah.
AJ Holiday
But, yeah, those are. Those are the trends that made me like what I. Anytime people, everybody going left, I'm going
Guest 1
right, and vice versa every time.
AJ Holiday
Because I know that this. This people see everything, mostly surface level.
Guest 1
And this.
AJ Holiday
This shit is not happenstance, nothing. We all living in the Truman Show. So if you think you just arbitrarily doing this thing, it's just. It's not.
Guest 1
You're not just doing it. Something is making you do this, and
Tam Bam
you're checking themselves, essentially.
AJ Holiday
Yeah.
Guest 1
Because you're a follower, like, for real in real life.
Tam Bam
But were there any trends that you did jump on that mannequin challenge? Had a nigga like, let's do the mannequin challenge.
Guest 2
I couldn't wait to be a mannequin every five fucking minutes.
AJ Holiday
I never did it.
Tam Bam
You did it. Did you do it?
Guest 2
I was a mannequin at least seven times with seven different groups of motherfuckers. Baby. I love to freeze. I still be doing that shit. When somebody on FaceTime and they ask me for some shit, I will get frozen real quick.
Guest 1
Like, why was that song associated with stopping and freezing?
Tam Bam
Hmm.
Guest 1
The video wasn't about.
AJ Holiday
The video wasn't about it. About that.
Guest 2
What?
Guest 1
Why was being a mannequin, Right. A fake person, a fake thing?
AJ Holiday
Nothing associated with that song. And why was that the song for it?
Guest 1
For the mannequin challenge? Who knows?
AJ Holiday
That's what I'm saying. Like, this shit is fucking weird to me, and I just don't understand. Why don't nobody else think like that. I don't understand, like, y' all not
Guest 1
doing these things because y' all want to. Some other examples of, like, viral trends is, like, soft life. Soft life. Content.
Tam Bam
Is soft life even real? I think it's just content.
Guest 1
Yeah.
Tam Bam
Them same people be, like, doing all this soft shit, and then as soon as they stop, they screaming at, sit the fuck down.
AJ Holiday
You kids are driving me crazy.
Tam Bam
Yeah.
Guest 1
Is it healing or is it just like luxury marketing?
Guest 2
Basically.
Guest 1
Basically. I like to see people living good, you know?
AJ Holiday
So if I subscribe to any trends online, it would be like the.
Guest 1
The high fashion, they want to call it soft life. Because my homegirl, Alana, Elena, whatever her name is, the Russian, she is pregnant bitch.
AJ Holiday
She posted yesterday. I'm so happy anytime I see it. Listen, they be trying to say she's 39, 40, girl.
Guest 1
Bye. Okay, this is an old. She got too much crow's feet to say she ain't 45, but she probably
Tam Bam
white, though, so that it'd be like a little sometimes with them.
AJ Holiday
And she got a face full of
Guest 1
filler, so, I mean, she just doesn't look young.
AJ Holiday
But she pregnant, and I be happy anytime.
Guest 1
An old bitch pregnant me too. Yes. And she got her dream house with her dream relationship, her husband. Like, that is the content I love to consume. Like the nice house, the mansion, the fucking Rolls Royce parked outside. Yes. I follow a lot of bitches like that who.
Tam Bam
She make everything from scratch and she talks like this and then.
AJ Holiday
Oh, you know, you're talking about.
Tam Bam
I don't know her name.
Guest 1
I follow her too.
Tam Bam
I know her kid is. She just revealed that she heard a baby has childhood cancer. And that's just like, so crazy. And it makes you feel like. Because she is, like, feeding that baby perfect, you know?
Guest 1
Yes, yes.
Guest 2
And still.
Tam Bam
Ugh.
Guest 1
Nara. Her name's Nara.
AJ Holiday
You know, the thing is, you have
Guest 1
to consider other things, right?
AJ Holiday
So, yes, you could do you. We are making food from scratch, but
Guest 1
these ingredients, a lot of times aren't. Aren't natural. Not derived from natural sources.
AJ Holiday
So really, if you even smallest. Break it down to the smallest thing,
Guest 1
fucking acid rain or, you know, what's coming out of our atmosphere that's raining onto the soil. Is the soil even good?
AJ Holiday
So even if you're growing some shit at the house, it's just like, America is a project. There are things here that are not
Guest 1
allowed anyplace else in the world.
Guest 2
Right.
Guest 1
There are things in our foods, things
AJ Holiday
in our face products, hair products, all this shit. Like, it's just like, let's see if
Guest 1
the Americans can live through this. It's like we're just like lab rats.
Tam Bam
I saw that. Like Sweden, when they sent their FIFA team, they sent food with them. They sent a whole bunch of food because they didn't trust the American food to feed their team.
AJ Holiday
Imagine that. Y' all imagine that another country is sending motherfucking free lunch for their.
Guest 2
For these people.
Tam Bam
Yeah, because they don't want y' all eat that.
AJ Holiday
You don't trust the trash.
Guest 2
I really enjoyed the videos of all the other countries like America. The food is so good. I see why y' all so fat.
AJ Holiday
Yeah. Because it's full of bullshit. It's full of things that make you think it tastes good.
Guest 1
And it really doesn't like you. You eating a bunch of garbage.
Tam Bam
Dead shit.
Guest 1
Even they say in the lettuce, the salad is fucked up over here. Like, God damn, man.
Tam Bam
I know they had a recall recently on bags of lettuce that it said it had not E. Coli. What's the other one? That's really with the S. I think it starts salmonella.
Guest 1
Salmonella?
AJ Holiday
Yeah.
Tam Bam
How the fuck lettuce got salmonella?
Guest 1
That's from booty holes.
Tam Bam
How do lettuce get salmonella?
Guest 1
Somebody digging their butt.
Tam Bam
I thought that was more like with flesh and meat and stuff like that.
Guest 2
Baby, you just gotta pray. That's why I say just pray over it.
Tam Bam
Cause it don't matter.
Guest 2
That's, you know, you can doordash it
Tam Bam
or you could grow.
Guest 2
Might be booty hole on it. Well, you know, like
AJ Holiday
a little hint, you know.
Guest 1
Another trend that is really disgusting right now is the. My homegirl, we always like swapping music. Anytime we hear a fly song, we send in a link, right?
AJ Holiday
And I'm like, girl, if you send me another AI artist, I automatically know somebody's an AI artist.
Guest 1
When you go to their album, there's no album. And there's just one song that's viral on tikt, right?
AJ Holiday
So now what I'm seeing, and this
Guest 1
is how I feel about it, they are stealing soul.
AJ Holiday
Y' all know white people cannot fuck around with black people. Our voices, our talent, like, now they have created. They're now, now they're using AI to create soul. You know what I'm saying? So they don't need the black artists anymore either. And this is basically what Janet was talking about. Was it Janet at the BET Awards? No, no, this is. No, this wasn't Jen.
Guest 1
It was Lauryn Hill at the BET Awards.
AJ Holiday
Like, she. She touched on the AI and stuff like that. Like, they are literally now. First it was.
Guest 1
Now y' all going to the Afrobeats artists, right? Y' all outsourcing. Y' all don't need us like that because rap is falling. Like, rap, like, is not charting like it used to be.
Tam Bam
No.
AJ Holiday
And. And now you have these AI R B artists that people are creating out
Guest 1
of thin air, going viral, getting million dollar deals and shit like that.
AJ Holiday
This is not even a real person,
Guest 1
y' all putting a voice behind.
AJ Holiday
And then you can also make AI lyrics. So now you making these amazing songs with this amazing voice. And it's not a real person, but
Guest 1
we know who they are mimicking.
AJ Holiday
It's us.
Tam Bam
Well, that's the same thing they did with like, musicianship, like instruments. They used to play real instruments. Now it's all digital instruments. Nobody's actually playing music.
Tony Ayo
Yeah.
Tam Bam
So that's the world we live in. And before you know it. All of our entertainment will be made by computers. Even actors, like cgi. Like, you look at the girls. I was just saying, like, I was on Revolve and the girl, it was the same bitch in different outfits a million times. That girl got paid for one picture. She did not have to change clothes every time they put that clothes on her. So she don't get paid for all of that.
Guest 2
Right.
AJ Holiday
People are selling their likeness, so they
Guest 1
no longer own their likeness. You know the one girl who models
AJ Holiday
for Fashion Nova, she's like the biggest
Guest 1
model they got, y'.
Nissan Ad Voice
All.
Guest 1
You know, the face. I forgot her name.
Guest 2
The heavy.
Tam Bam
The full figure one.
AJ Holiday
Notice the cute one, the. The small, petite, fake. But she's a real person. Yeah, but I remember her. I saw a post one day, and she was like, you know, basically crying, saying she don't own her image. She doesn't own her likeness anymore. They basically can generate these images. They're not taking all these pictures. So now models, that. That. That profession is. Is about to be obsolete unless you're doing a fashion show, you know?
Guest 2
Right. And that's print, you know, they gonna have a robot bitch walking down without
AJ Holiday
feeling, but for print, you know? I mean.
Guest 1
Exactly. Cause the models already be walking like robots. They look alike, you know, So I can see that happening.
Guest 2
Did you see that robot that was, like, doing karate and accidentally kicked that kid? No, you stupid.
AJ Holiday
On what?
Guest 1
What was that?
Guest 2
Oh, my God. It was like an exhibition of some sort. And it was like children standing around and the robot was doing karate and it got too close to the edge, and it was like, yeah,
Guest 1
I see that.
AJ Holiday
What about these AI generated relationships and these fixed fictitious stories online, too? I keep seeing the same one. It's like everybody got the same story about.
Guest 1
It's like an older woman, but it's a different woman.
Tam Bam
Right.
AJ Holiday
Older woman who was divorced, like, was
Tam Bam
in a bad relationship.
AJ Holiday
Yeah.
Guest 2
Work out.
AJ Holiday
And now they got the six pack and, like, it's. It's AI generated.
Tam Bam
Yes, it is.
AJ Holiday
The first one got me.
Guest 2
The first one got me. I was like, I'm so proud of you, bitch.
Tam Bam
And then I was like, no, this is not real.
AJ Holiday
Same story, different person. So are we missing out on money while we complaining? Because should we be generating an AI Something so we really don't have to do the work?
Guest 2
Right.
Tam Bam
Yeah, y' all gonna come on here
Guest 2
in a couple weeks. What's up, y'?
Tam Bam
All?
AJ Holiday
Thank y' all for tuning in.
Guest 2
I love y'. All. It is gonna be an AI version of me. I Ain't even here.
AJ Holiday
We should do an AI episode for real, See what the they come up with. I might work on that.
Guest 2
Yeah, get to it. Get to it.
AJ Holiday
Because, like, we contracted do 52 episodes a year, child.
Guest 1
We might break it down to 25.
Guest 2
Right.
AJ Holiday
They be realistic, though. The only thing is always the hands.
Guest 1
Always give it away. It's an extra thumb or some shit together. They get lazy when they get to the hands.
Ryan Reynolds
Yeah.
Guest 1
Filming strangers instead of helping people, that's disgusting to me.
Guest 2
Right?
Guest 1
Or when you're helping, you're filming.
AJ Holiday
Like, I understand one part of it.
Guest 1
Like, yeah, you want to encourage, you know, watchers to also do the same. Like, to help somebody in need. But it's just. It's always weird to me that that is content.
Tam Bam
Yeah. But people don't. Like, half the time, people don't even want your help. Like, it was so hot. And I seen this black lady, old black lady walking down the street past my house, and I felt compelled to go outside. And she had heavy bags, too. And I got in my car and I was like, um. I hollered out the window, you need a ride? I said, hey, ma', am, you need a ride?
Guest 1
I do that all the time.
AJ Holiday
And she's like, oh, you're so sweet. No, thank you. It's okay.
Tam Bam
But then I got out of my car and I kept.
Guest 2
And I drove.
Tam Bam
I was like, ma', am, you sure? It's so hot out here. It's dangerously hot. She was like, it is. She's like, but I'm scared. Cause I don't know you. I was like, I'm scared, too.
AJ Holiday
Getting in the nah, right?
Guest 2
Are you coming?
Tam Bam
And she's like, I just live right there. It's fine. I was like, all right, bitch.
Guest 1
Girl, I'm at the gas station just yesterday, took two teenage boys home.
AJ Holiday
Cause first of all, y' all at
Guest 1
the gas station asking for donations for football camp. And what we in July, school start back.
AJ Holiday
What football camp? Boy, when I tell you I gave this little boy $20 and he pulled out the biggest knot out of his pocket and put my money in it. I said, y' all just out here finessing.
Guest 1
So now I'm pulling off.
AJ Holiday
Here comes the second little boy. Hey, you can give us a ride right down the street to whatever.
Guest 1
Get in and. Cause y'.
Lowe's Ad Voice
All.
Guest 1
I guess y' all done finessing for the day, right? Hella money for the summer.
Guest 2
Give me 20 back.
Guest 1
I should have robbed their little ass. Teach them a lesson in people's cars, right?
Guest 2
Pull your pistol from under the seat. But shit, them niggas might have one too, right?
Guest 1
That part. Little skinny ass, little ass boys dirty too, with a pocket full of money, finessing. Listen, I'm not mad at them. However you gotta get it, man, at least you ain't out here hurting anybody. You asking people and they giving it to you.
Tam Bam
A little nigga ran up on me in a Walmart parking lot selling a book that he wrote. And it was like, I know, I bought it.
AJ Holiday
Yes, absolutely. If you got something, yeah, even if
Guest 1
it's a picture, some you drew, like, give me get a deal, I'll give you the money.
Tam Bam
Yeah, I bought it. And it was hot too.
Guest 2
But I was like, you know what? 25 for this little picture book
AJ Holiday
was a hand done. Or was it published?
Tam Bam
No, it was published. It was published. And he said his mama helped him. And he was like, nice, 15 or 16, and he was like slick with his little mouth, talking about, I know
AJ Holiday
you ain't but 19, but maybe you
Guest 2
can afford to get this book, boy. Come here, boy.
Guest 1
Oh, he good.
Guest 2
Yeah, he was good.

Cal Penn
Visit t mobile.com hey everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Earsay, the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club.
Lily Chu
When you actually hear the performance, you realize that other people are taking your words and what you thought was kind of a straightforward sentence. Like the cat in the corner is black. In my head, it's the cat in the corner as black Black. Not the dog, not the gerbil, but someone else might say it, the cat in the corner is black. That's always fascinating to me how they just bring in all these different nuances and really make it fun and interesting and distinctive.
Cal Penn

AJ Holiday
I remember recently I commented on somebody's post. You know, you come across shit on
Guest 1
your timeline, people don't even follow. But it's a grown man who. He took his mom, his estranged mom who didn't raise him, who gave him up at birth.
AJ Holiday
He took her out to lunch and
Guest 1
then he was recording her and, like, her interaction with him.
AJ Holiday
Like, she like, man, what the fuck you want from me? At least I had you. Like, what? Why you keep bothering me? And like, he's making content out of how much his mama doesn't fuck with him. And this is a grown man. This man has to be in his 30s. I seen somebody was commenting. Somebody was out. The second video I saw, it was a celebrity out. Oh, it was. What's the girl from loving hip hop Atlanta, the one who had the baby for Stevie. Not Jack, not. Not Jocelyn, not Jocelyn, the other one from Atlanta, Mimi.
Guest 1
Mimi.
AJ Holiday
It was Mimi in another video. And she was saying, you know, basically
Guest 1
trying to urge this grown woman to talk to her now adult son.
AJ Holiday
And she like, no, I did. Like, obviously, like, I couldn't fuck with you then. I don't fuck with you now. Be happy I gave birth to you. Like, I don't know what transpired. Maybe, I don't know, maybe he was conceived out of.
Guest 2
Oh, and they were like, outside in the parking lot.
Nissan Ad Voice
Yes.
AJ Holiday
The first one was they were in a restaurant. And then the second one, it was outside in the parking lot.
Guest 2
Parking lot.
AJ Holiday
And I remember commenting, I was like, I was like, yo, not all women are mothers. You should be grateful she gave you two. You know, Although I know there's a hole he's trying to fill.
Guest 1
There's a gap in his life he's trying to fill. Right.
AJ Holiday
She's not going to be able to
Guest 1
do that for you.
AJ Holiday
And not in this lifetime.
Guest 1
All right?
AJ Holiday
She's still dealing with. Yes, multiple times. So why are you now you're wrong. You dead ass fucking wrong now for making this content. If I was his mom, I'd sue
Guest 1
the shit out of him.
AJ Holiday
I would sue him.
Tam Bam
I don't know.
AJ Holiday
Because I'm not asking to be put on the Internet on camera because at this point Like, Internet Instagram. That shit is like television. Can I not get a check? Somebody put me in some shit. I did not sign up for this.
Tam Bam
That's like, what you call it? The other housewife of Atlanta, Kenya.
Guest 1
Oh, Kenya.
AJ Holiday
Yeah. Her family, when she pulled up. Yeah. Like, you can't do that. And I think. I think in that situation with Kenya, I think she, I think really was
Guest 1
some incest something going on. Like her mom was maybe violated when she had a girl. The dad is extremely older and she
AJ Holiday
has some type of relationship with that
Guest 1
person, but the mama is not fucking with it.
Tam Bam
I think that's what happened to my, like, my grandfather, honestly, like. Cause his mom, my mom's dad, his mom had him and then left him with his mom, her mama, and moved away and then started another family and had four more kids. And name one of them the same name as my grandfather.
Guest 1
Something broadly happened. And you know, that's in the black community.
AJ Holiday
It's taboo. We talk all this shit about white
Guest 1
folks and the incest and all the different things.
AJ Holiday
And this one sleeping with the daughters. That shit happens in the black community for sure. We just don't talk about it. And then we just let these bad people just fester in the family and
Guest 1
people keeping the secrets and got to
Tam Bam
sit at the Thanksgiving table with your abuser.
Guest 1
Exactly.
AJ Holiday
And we see those kind of videos, too.
Guest 1
We see that type of shit go
AJ Holiday
viral, too, at Thanksgiving, where a bitch is feeling froggy and like, Nala, have to let this nigga live another day.
Guest 1
And she exposing around the Internet.
AJ Holiday
I've seen that, too. Is that for the Internet, though? Should that be content? I do think in those cases, these
Guest 1
type of people should be ostracized. They should be.
Tam Bam
Because some people do all kinds of shit. Like beating your child on the Internet for content.
AJ Holiday
I would never embarrass my kid like that.
Tam Bam
Embarrassing your kid, like, shaving their head and putting it, like, on the Internet. I don't believe in that.
Guest 1
Yeah.
Tam Bam
Now, I would shave a kid's head, but I wouldn't put it on the Internet.
Guest 2
You would shave your kids that.
AJ Holiday
My son, even my best friend cut her off.
Guest 1
All of a sudden, thought cut off. You know, the thought cut, like, the shave and the hair on the top. She cut that nigga. She gave him a Caesar.
Tam Bam
Yeah. Or if, you know, he was, like, so and so, like, in love with his hair, but was making fun of someone who was sick and they didn't have hair or something like that. Yeah. You getting a low cut because your relationship to your Hair is unhealthy. And if you think it's okay to make fun of people who don't have hair, then you're not gonna have any either. So you can see how I feel. So you can learn some empathy.
Guest 1
I don't know if I'm doing that. That is so devastating.
Tam Bam
Yeah, so is sickness.
Guest 1
That is so devastating.
Tam Bam
So you need to learn your hair is going to grow back. This person's may not. You know, you need to learn a lesson. And sometimes a hard lesson is what you need. Now, will I put it on the Internet? No. Will I make you look ugly? No. I'm not gonna give you. I'm not gonna make you look like Mr. T, a bald head, you know, or nothing like that as a child. But I will cut your hair off if you think you're better. Yeah. You need to learn.
Guest 1
I might send them to school with a bunch of good wool clothes on with that haircut.
AJ Holiday
Like, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna do some permanent. Even if it's temporary.
Guest 1
Permanent. I'm not gonna do that, I think. But I would definitely. I find a different way to do shit. Your room dirty. I'm putting that on Facebook.
AJ Holiday
I'm not gonna post my daughter. You out here popping shit and your fucking bathroom dirty.
Guest 1
Oh, okay.
AJ Holiday
No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't embarrass Mike. I remember being in school and people.
Guest 1
The parents would come to class and make their child stand in front of the class and give them a public beating or, you know, reprimand them publicly.
AJ Holiday
I would never like that type of shit. Stuff my mama did to me privately still haunts me today. I would never do no shit like
Guest 1
that in front of. In front of a school.
AJ Holiday
Like, you can't. And then the Internet now people doing it. It's not just 30 kids in the
Guest 1
classroom now people doing shit on the Internet. And it's not fucking pencil. You cannot erase it.
AJ Holiday
It's pin. It's there forever.
Guest 1
You can find it on archives.org, like, you'll always be able to find anything you post online.
Tam Bam
Yeah, I was about to say something, but then people might go looking, so.
AJ Holiday
Girl, I got some shit from my teenage years, okay? Black Planet and shit like that.
Guest 2
Yeah.
AJ Holiday
Somebody stole my page on Black Planet, girl. A bitch stole my page. And our first year at Benedict. First. I mean, like the first week at Benedict, somebody hacked my Black Planet page and basically, like, change. You know, back then, you could.
Guest 1
We was really like, programmers. Like, we was putting all type of, like, we doing computer programming and coding
AJ Holiday
to make a fly ass Black planet
Guest 1
coding or MySpace page. Yeah.
Target Ad Voice
Yes.
AJ Holiday
And somebody hacked my shit. And like, it was a girl and
Guest 1
the girl was saying I'm her girlfriend.
AJ Holiday
Imagine I'm just now starting fucking college and somebody doing some shit like this. Bitch, I am not a dyke. I was so afraid, like, people at
Guest 1
the school would see that the.
AJ Holiday
I don't know, it was somebody. I don't know who the person was, but like, I don't know. Somebody hacked my.
Guest 1
My.
AJ Holiday
My YouTube. Not YouTube.
Guest 1
Yahoo account and Black Planet. Yeah, Let's do a quick game right quick.
Guest 2
Okay,
Guest 1
so I'm just going to name a couple different, you know, viral trends on social media. And you have to say, is it healthy, is it harmless or harmful?
Tam Bam
Okay.
Guest 1
Quiet luxury.
Tam Bam
Mm. I feel like that's helpful, right?
Guest 1
Yeah, I think it's very healthy. Like I said, I like to see people doing well. Like, I don't really subscribe to shit where people just doing bad. I don't like it. I don't like to see, like, even
AJ Holiday
if that's where you at right now,
Guest 1
bitch, you better fake it till you make it. That is how you fucking manifest a difference in your life.
Tam Bam
I agree.
Guest 1
Okay, Trad wives, what do you think about that trend? And that was mostly on TikTok, I would think, like, there's a trad wife is a traditional wife. So you have your modern wife. You have the traditional wife. That would be like your nara. Right. Even though she's a model.
Tam Bam
Because, you know, I don't think. I think it's important to see all types of wives.
Guest 2
We don't want to eliminate the traditional wife.
Guest 1
Yeah.
AJ Holiday
So the trad wives catch so much
Guest 1
heat on TikTok because people think that they are male centered. I really think they're family centered.
AJ Holiday
And I'm trying to figure out how to fuck the problem with. The problem with America in particular.
Guest 1
Right.
AJ Holiday
We don't have family. The problem in the black community, we. We don't value family, the family structure enough. You have so many different mechanisms that's
Guest 1
trying to tear that thing apart.
AJ Holiday
I feel like it's healthy to see. And then these. These motherfuckers be balling too. They be living on a farm somewhere cooking all they food. They got the animals like. And that farm life is not easy.
Guest 2
Okay.
AJ Holiday
It's not like these ladies just said
Guest 1
the house ordering shit off the Internet off their husband credit card. Like, these women, they work for their families.
Guest 2
Right.
AJ Holiday
You know that one black family. And remember a couple years ago during COVID their Horse. These fucking crackers murdered their horse. Yeah, I said that they murdered the horse. The black BLM horse.
Tam Bam
Remember that? No, I miss that.
AJ Holiday
You don't remember that? During COVID Beautiful, beautiful.
Tam Bam
And they killed him.
AJ Holiday
Renin ra. Yes. All of a sudden he just drops
Guest 1
dad at the vet. Drops dead.
AJ Holiday
But, you know, so they have. They live a farm life.
Guest 1
And it's like the girl just had another baby. The wife just had another child. It's like seven of them girls, she be having home births. They live in a big ass house in the middle of nowhere.
AJ Holiday
And to me, that.
Guest 1
That is a traditional white girl. That is goals.
AJ Holiday
I want to have my kids at the house.
Guest 1
You have. You have a.
Tam Bam
Her.
Guest 1
Her last pregnancy was real hard. She was huffing and puffing and you just see her husband come out, come into the picture like a damn superhero soothing her, rubbing her down. And they delivered that baby at the
AJ Holiday
house while the kids and animals watching, girl.
Guest 1
Like Jesus in the manger.
Guest 2
Oh, wow.
Guest 1
Yes. I love that shit, man. So it's healthy.
Tam Bam
I love you. Yeah, yeah.
AJ Holiday
Black family, they always like watching TV
Guest 1
in the lawn, you know, with the
AJ Holiday
big projector outside and stuff like that.
Tam Bam
All that vast land around them.
AJ Holiday
Yes. I want. I wish. I want to know where they live at.
Guest 1
They doing well, though. Yes, absolutely. So I think that's definitely helpful or healthy trends.
Tam Bam
Ozempic girl.
Guest 1
I mean, I'm worried.
Tam Bam
I'm worried about some people, like, some people getting like. I don't know if Brandi on Ozempic, but like we just saw Brandi, like in Mississippi and she looked unusually thin.
Guest 1
I don't think Brandi is on Ozempic. There's no way anybody. Well, she must be getting it under the counter. Nobody's subscribing that to her because she is not girl.
Tam Bam
Hollywood, they was, you know, they can get whatever they want in Hollywood.
Guest 1
Yeah.
Tam Bam
But I don't see where she would need it or even think she needed it. But she's so I hope she's okay. Cause she was like Ariana Grande then. Mm.
Guest 1
I seen that a recent picture of her. Somebody was. I don't know who page that was. I saw.
AJ Holiday
What was she at recently, you said in Mississippi?
Tam Bam
She was. She was being honored in her hometown. Okay. And she was.
Guest 1
Oh, yeah, they are from Mississippi.
Guest 2
Yeah.
Tam Bam
To receive the honor. And she look real thin. I'm worried about her.
Guest 1
I don't know, man.
AJ Holiday
You can kind of tell who be
Guest 1
on Ozempic, you know, the rapid weight loss and they're not working out. So like the face is slumped, the booty goes away, you know, because it's literally like getting rid of all body fat.
Tam Bam
And I heard that shit make your coochie loose. Cause it eat at your coochie muscles. That was all I needed to hear.
Guest 2
I never that shit into me.
AJ Holiday
Did you really hear that?
Guest 2
Yeah.
AJ Holiday
What?
Guest 2
Oh, hell no.
Guest 1
You better work it out.
AJ Holiday
You better do your kegels triple time. Could you imagine, bitch?
Tam Bam
I found out that I was even like. Cause I do kegels at the light all the time. It's just like. So I always do that, but I. The doctor told me I ain't even doing it right. So y' all listen to this. When you do kegels, you know you squeeze your vagina, right? But the doctor told me to suck in my stomach, squeeze my butt, and then my vagina.
Guest 1
Your abdomen has to be tight, too.
Tam Bam
I just was doing my vagina the whole time. And it feels different when I squeeze my butt and my vagina and my stomach all at once.
Guest 1
It's harder.
Tam Bam
So maybe that coochie ain't as tight as I thought.
AJ Holiday
Pussy don't film me now. Morning routines.
Tam Bam
Those videos do you watch.
AJ Holiday
Do you watch those morning routine videos?
Tam Bam
No.
Guest 1
Me either.
Tam Bam
I don't watch them. Order get ready with me.
AJ Holiday
Y' all take too long.
Guest 1
I hate to see a nigga doing a get ready video.
AJ Holiday
If you don't get your go to work.
Guest 2
Y' all already ain't at work if
AJ Holiday
you don't carry your ass to work.
Guest 2
Only going to work. Why so many of y' all getting ready?
AJ Holiday
Where the you going at?
Guest 2
Get ready with me or nothing.
Guest 1
Yeah, that is harmful.
Guest 2
Yeah.
Guest 1
It is not good street interviews.
AJ Holiday
I don't like them street interviews because
Guest 1
I feel like they pick the narrative right?
AJ Holiday
So, like, I saw a street interview.
Guest 1
Like, you have the ones where people reading sentences where they can't enunciate half the words.
AJ Holiday
Or, you know, like, even the videos where, like, what's the worst sign you ever dated?
Guest 1
All of them will say cancer or all of them say Gemini.
AJ Holiday
So y' all ain't have nobody else in between. They just like, y', all.
Guest 2
Everybody who said it.
Tam Bam
They only use their video.
AJ Holiday
Exactly. Because you can see the same person asking the same question. But now is a different everybody saying,
Guest 1
I don't know, Aries.
AJ Holiday
You know what I'm saying?
Guest 1
I don't trust those videos.
Tam Bam
Yeah, me neither. You know what video is funny to me? The guy who was like, dude, this nigga look gay to you?
AJ Holiday
Yes, gay as fuck.
Guest 2
You think they think you gay.
AJ Holiday
Hell, yeah.
Guest 2
Then the next one, he gay as.
AJ Holiday
Look at that head. Look at his eyes.
Guest 1
Look at his lips.
Guest 2
Look how he stands.
AJ Holiday
But why all y' all gay? Why do all men think men are gay?
Tam Bam
Right?
AJ Holiday
That is very interesting. The whole time, we can't go on
Guest 1
all girls trips because y' all think everybody and coochie on the all girls trip.
AJ Holiday
What y' all doing? Y' all ain't just buying coochie in the Dominican Republic because there's a lot
Guest 1
of buty boys in Dr. Also
Guest 2
be
Tam Bam
doing it with each other, too. Don't get it.
Guest 1
Exactly.
AJ Holiday
At least like the. You know, at least like the guys who are, like, actually gay, who are out gay, like, when you see them out with their homeboys, they really friends, they fucking somebody.
Guest 1
Baby daddy and husband, you know, we
AJ Holiday
don't know what y' all supposedly heterosexual men like, Y' all be out in packs.
Guest 1
Like, who fucking over there, right?
Guest 2
You.
AJ Holiday
You be watching.
Tam Bam
What's it?
Guest 1
God Damn.
AJ Holiday
The comedian JoJo Brooks. Is it Jojo Brooks.
Tam Bam
Mojo.
Guest 1
Mojo.
AJ Holiday
Have you been seeing his stand up lately? That nigga is hilarious. But you know, he be in Atlanta and it's always two niggas at a show together. And he called one of the girl. He called one of the guy's girlfriend on the phone. He's like, yeah, your boyfriend here. Why you ain't at the show? She said, oh, I didn't get invited.
Guest 1
The whole crowd was like, oh. And the two, they just laughing.
AJ Holiday
And Kiki and he like, well, how
Guest 1
long y' all been friends?
AJ Holiday
So y' all just. Y' all just going out together? Like, what the y' all got going on?
Tam Bam
You mean you a comedy show?
Guest 1
Go through that phone, bitch. Go through that phone.
AJ Holiday
I bet you he got an Adam for Adam account Search.
Tam Bam
Like, when you go through his text search keywords, don't just look at different names. Right. Search words. Search dick search.
Guest 1
Go to pornhub and look at that history. See what he watching. Okay, right, Let me see.
AJ Holiday
Couples sharing passwords.
Tam Bam
No, Share your passwords.
AJ Holiday
What?
Guest 2
You.
AJ Holiday
You agree with that?
Tam Bam
I don't see what's the problem. If y' all are.
Guest 1
That is so grown. That is so grown. Even if I am faithful, you cannot
AJ Holiday
have the password in my phone. It's just. I just believe in really just being
Guest 1
single in a relationship.
AJ Holiday
And what I mean by that is just having boundaries. Yeah. And still being a. You know, it's supposed to be mystery.
Guest 1
We're one. No, like, we're one now.
AJ Holiday
No, it's Me, and then there's you. Like, you're still an individual, you know what I'm saying? So I don't know that I need
Guest 1
to know every single intricate detail about my partner.
AJ Holiday
I don't think. I don't think.
Tam Bam
Don't jump in the bathroom while I'm pooping, girl.
AJ Holiday
That is my private time. If I leave the door open.
Guest 1
Yeah, maybe.
AJ Holiday
But if the door is closed, why are you opening this door? I'm obviously doing.
Guest 1
Doing some girl shit in here I don't want you to see.
Guest 2
Right.
Tam Bam
Don't. I don't want you to be a part of this moment while I'm trying to push.
Guest 2
Get. Let me have some mystery, nigga. God damn.
Guest 1
All right, one more. So this segment is culture or is it clout? Okay, okay. Someone records themselves giving money to a homeless person.
Tam Bam
I'm so. I'm torn about that because I like watching videos of people doing good, you know, for others. It makes me happy to see it and it encourages me to be kinder, you know, but at the same time, sometimes I do be feeling like making a video can be, like, taking advantage of this person's misfortune. So I'm torn on that.
AJ Holiday
Well, you remember during Christmas, the guy
Guest 1
raised all that money for this one lady, like, millions of hair and her kids was living in the car.
Tam Bam
Yeah. And he wouldn't have been able to do that had he not recorded it, right?
Guest 1
Yeah. Yeah. Somebody who announces they're quitting social media every other fucking month.
Tam Bam
Girl, just die.
AJ Holiday
Just go away.
Guest 1
Cloud chasing ass, right? Yeah.
Guest 2
And that's you leaving.
Tam Bam
Anything for me is like a clown chase, crowd. Chase is like, you really don't want to go and you want people to beg you to stay. Even like, suicide.
Guest 1
I was just about to say that
Tam Bam
you don't want to go.
AJ Holiday
Just do it. Just do it. Don't announce it, because what you're doing
Guest 1
is causing people undress, duress.
AJ Holiday
Super stressed. And what if you cause somebody like, your mom sees that shit and like,
Guest 1
she then commits suicide because she thought her child just committed suicide?
AJ Holiday
You know, you go into jail if
Guest 1
you don't kill yourself.
Guest 2
Right.
Guest 1
I hope you know that. Anyway,
AJ Holiday
I didn't. We didn't even get into, like how
Guest 1
I wanted to get into, like, what does social media actually say about us as a people? Where are we headed? You know, because it's real.
AJ Holiday
It's real sketchy out here. And I mean, I first realized that
Guest 1
America, we got a problem is when Facebook got super popular and then people
AJ Holiday
you knew personally, you get to see. Cause people often will text things that
Guest 1
they can't say verbally out their mouth.
AJ Holiday
So now I get to see, like,
Guest 1
your psyche on the Internet, and I get to see your subconscious mind on display.
AJ Holiday
And the shit is fucking weird how people really are. And if this is what human is, this is probably why I always be
Guest 1
saying I ain't human, because I don't like it.
Tam Bam
Yeah, I agree.
Guest 1
We do need some corrective measures.
Guest 2
Yeah.
Tam Bam
And people are, like, so much meaner on social media than they would ever be in person.
Guest 1
Yeah. Yeah. The attacks, the comments is just.
AJ Holiday
You can't say anything. Like, I let people live. The only time I comment on somebody saying, if I agree with you, I comment on it. I never comment on something I disagree with. Why would you want to. You want to intentionally cause, like, discourse, like an argument.
Guest 1
Right.
AJ Holiday
I'm not commenting on some shit I don't agree with.
Guest 1
I'm just not.
AJ Holiday
I just never understand why I can put a comment in a comment section
Guest 1
and it's a thousand people disagreeing with the comment. Just move on.
Tam Bam
Just go ahead. Like. But some people thrive off of that type of interaction. Like, that's. That feeds them.
Guest 1
Yeah. They probably don't have none in real life now.
Tam Bam
I did. I did put some controversial shit on a web.
Guest 1
On a.
Tam Bam
Like, a comment last week. So I don't know if y' all saw that, but it was like, White and Proud was trending on Facebook. It was a Facebook group that was, like, a bunch of white supremacists and, like, niggas, like, infiltrated the group.
Guest 2
And it was so funny because someone was like, what are all these blacks doing in here? And I commented. I put a post on the page that said, ew, these are the poor whites.
AJ Holiday
Well, I'm just being mean.
Guest 2
I like poor people. I. I am poor people. And sometimes in some ways. So. But I just wanted to say something mean because they were saying, like, if
Tam Bam
you went through the timeline of the. The stuff that was in that group, it was very derogatory and very ugly towards black people. So, I mean, I just think it was like, some nasty, nasty stuff. Like, So I just said that, and then I left the group.
Guest 1
I just don't give a fuck about that stuff. Right. I feel like you should be able to. Like, that was their private little whatever, you know, where they're congregating to be hateful. Let them be hateful.
Tam Bam
Right.
AJ Holiday
Because, you know they gonna pay for it, you know, one way or the other. Like, you cannot harbor that type of
Guest 1
energy that's not even being shown to you, but it does come out in ways like this little boy being murdered by these group of teenagers on this
AJ Holiday
goddamn pole on the 4th of July. So it is definitely like the microaggressions, the opportunities that they take to harm us.
Guest 1
It does start on platforms like that, right? So I think reporting should be done versus, you know, getting in then being just as hateful as they are.
AJ Holiday
Because I think you should be able to have your opinion, whatever. Like, you should be able to hate a. If you want to, you know, you. I don't know.
Guest 1
I just.
AJ Holiday
But it cannot come out then in. In legislation. You know how you handle us in hospitals.
Guest 1
But it will. That's why it's dangerous. Right on.
AJ Holiday
And us hating on them. We not trying to do nothing to them.
Guest 1
For real.
Guest 2
Sorry.
Guest 1
Okay.
AJ Holiday
Anyway, y', all. Well, that was fun.
Guest 1
This was fun talking about social media. And we. We definitely could have get much more detailed about a lot of different things, but we're running out of time.
AJ Holiday

Tam Bam
Right?
AJ Holiday
You know what I'm saying? If you don't have nothing nice to
Guest 1
say, don't say it.
AJ Holiday
And think before you participate in these trends.
Guest 1
Okay? Not everything is a trend, and motherfucking CIA is a real thing. Go ahead.
Tam Bam
And my last. Last is be careful and very mindful of the things that you consume.
Guest 1
Yes.
Tam Bam
You know, you may not realize how you are affected by the things that you are consuming. The content that you're consuming, doom scrolling and all that shit. It affects your frequency. It affects your vibe, you know? So just be very mindful of the things that you're putting into your spirit, your body, and your mind.
Guest 2
Absolutely.
Tam Bam

Theme: Reflecting on viral trends, internet culture, and social media’s impact (for better or worse) on Black women’s lives, relationships, and self-image, with classic We Talk Back comedic candor and raw honesty.

With their signature wit, personal stories, and unfiltered perspectives, they unpack how these trends influence identity, relationships, and even collective sanity — especially for Black women. The hosts also debate hot-button issues including work participation, AI in music and social media, family structures, and how over-sharing online can have lasting consequences.
