This is Jade Cox (left), a Trans female artist, writer and voice actor from the circle of hell where lawyers emerge. Officially beginning her transition in July of 2019, as of this taping she is almost exactly 2 years into her transition, and has become heavily engrained in the LGBT+ community, along with many other communities accepting of LGBT+ people, such as the art community, the voice acting community and many fan bases. She has been writing and voice acting for 11 years and illustrating for 7 years, most of which is documented on her Twitter, Deviant Art and Instagram. She has also dipped in and out of streaming throughout her life, starting on YouTube and then porting over to Twitch. During her school life (pre-transition), Jade was always very open about herself to those around her, from everything like her autism, her interests and even her sexuality. However, it wasn’t until the very end of her school life that the penny dropped and she had the realisation that she was transgender, which she acted upon once leaving school and moving onto college, where she would go on to meet many more like minded people within the LGBT+ community. Jade has had a relatively strife free life, even once transitioned, which is a fact she is well aware of and utilised to try and help those less fortunate than her, particularly those within the LGBT+ community, deal with the stresses they have to deal with on an regular, and sometimes daily, basis. They are a Polish artist and animator with special interests such as magic, storytelling, and cartoons. They have been drawing digitally for over 5 years and animating for 3. With all that experience they came to England in 2019 and have been pursuing their passions ever since. Their art journey can be found documented on their YouTube channel and DeviantArt account. They came out as nonbinary in late February this year, but they have been a part of the LGBT+ community for far longer. Since middle school they knew that they weren’t straight, though it was hard to determine which exact label fits them most as they hadn’t got the chance to explore and learn much about the LGBT+ community. Only once they moved counters, they were able to fully enjoy the rainbow. They are now open about their identity even though it can sometimes be a challenge back across the border, due to differences in language and viewpoints. Changing your life when most people are thinking of retiring can be an awesome experience! I was widowed, working long hours and owing approximately £100,000 to my late husband’s creditors. Not the best place to be and certainly not one which brought with it any hope for a great future. A chance meeting with an NLP practitioner opened up so many opportunities, which literally enabled me to change my life forever. Today I am debt free, happily married, working the hours I want to work and with people I choose to work with.

Nicola Wai-Shee Chan is a body confidence coach with a background in fitness and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). Her theme for this year is “curiously confident”. Listen to her episode and hear what it’s all about. Here’s her story in her words: My name is Nicola Chan, I am a Body Confidence Coach. I help people using an array of tools from both Fitness and Mindset. When I was young, I had ZERO confidence; I was bullied at school, I thought I was ugly, I suffered with racial stigma and thought things would always be that way. I struggled to speak up for myself because I guess somewhere deep down I thought I deserved it. I thought I was not enough. At aged 14 I was subjected to an incredibily traumatic experience which led me to suffer a cycle of Panic Attacks and Depression. I found myself pregnant at aged 15 which was a blessing in disguise, as at the time I was suicidal. I then had a focus and decided to start thinking about my future and building a career and a business so I could support my child. Years went by and I became a fitness instructor. Being in front of people was hard, my feelings of not being good enough were always there, along with the shame and guilt. I had become destructive and tried to control everything with food and exercise, which led to an Eating Disorder, Body Dismorphic Disorder and Infertility. Some years past, struggling with food and Body Image and even trying to run a Marathon 3 times which ended up with me being injured before show day. It was only when I finally rested while pregnant that I recovered from injuries and 4 months after giving birth I ran the London Marathon! This means that I started training a week after giving birth! My mindset wasn’t right, I was still not happy. I wasn’t happy with me, my trauma still wasn’t healed and I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. I decided Body Building was the solution. I became a 1st place Bikini winner and after my final show, I binged for 3 months straight. I hated myself with passion. At rock bottom, I made a decision. If hating my body isn’t working anymore, what if I start to love my body instead? And I went onto to Google, as you do, and I typed in the words “BODY POSITIVITY.” From there on my life was changed for good. I now use my story, my experience and my coaching to help other women and girls. Nicola Wai-Shee Chan

Jesi Stracham is a trauma survivor on a mission to help individuals see the opportunity in their obstacles. She is the founder of Wheel With Me Foundation, the owner of Wheel With Me Consulting, and a full-time student. Through her struggles, she works for teaching individuals the power of our mindset. In January 2015, Jesi was the passenger on a motorcycle when it collided with a car. She woke up a week later in an intensive care unit without the use of her legs secondary to a spinal cord injury. Instead of accepting disability as her reality, she rejected the prognosis that she would be wheelchair dependent for the rest of her life. In the face of adversity, Jesi is recovering from her disability, using it as a platform to reach her world. Since the onset of her injury, she has achieved more than she previously dreamed possible. Over the past several years, she has generated a significant following among both the spinal cord injury and able-bodied community. Her goal is simple: show the world there is an opportunity in their obstacles, restoring hope during life’s difficult moments. She helps people achieve their dreams through the importance of goal setting and showing what’s possible. Jesi Stracham
