Ylawnda Peebles is the exultant wife of 27 years to her best friend, Senior Pastor, Joel R. Peebles, Sr., and she is Co-Pastor of the City of Praise Family Ministries in Landover, Maryland. Together, they are blessed to have four amazing and brilliant children – Joel, Jr., Janay, Jordan and Jeremiah. Ylawnda is a graduate of Bowie State University, where she graduated with high honors earning the Magna Cum Laude Award, she has her Master’s Degree in Divinity from Wilbur Henry Waters School of Divinity, a Doctorate of Divinity from Rivers Bible Institute and a Doctorate in Humane Letters from Breakthrough Bible College.

In 2003 she founded Heart to Heart Literacy Program. This non-profit charitable organization was designed to inspire literacy in school aged children. She also wrote and published a children’s book entitled, “God Loves Me Just the Way I Am”, which is in its 3^rd printing. She assists hundreds of women on their journey to health and wholeness through her efforts with her Transformation Squad, Kingdom Queen Organization, and the YP Rise Up Gratitude Journey, a live show on Facebook. Ylawnda co-hosts many ministry affairs such as the “Marry Me Again Experience” Marriage Events, “Touching the Hearts of People” telecast aired on the Impact Network, the Word of the Day aired on both Praise 104.1 and 105.1 WAVA stations in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

Ylawnda was humbled and honored to receive the Coretta Scott King Award from the Prince George’s Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Catalyst of the Year Award from the Prince George’s Chapter of Jack & Jill, Top Walk Team/Top Walker Fundraiser from NAMI Maryland, and Top Ten First Ladies from Praise 104.1.

Ylawnda is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is faithfully committed to service for all mankind. She was grateful to receive, “New Soror of the Year in 2018.
