Is your body telling a story that your mind isn't ready to face yet? In this episode of Honoring M.E.™ (My Evolution), M. Rochelle takes us through a "Raw & Uncut" rewind of her own journey. We aren't just talking about stress—we’re talking about the physical "receipts" that survival mode leaves behind. From nerve compression and chronic muscle guarding to the way our bodies literally "armor" themselves against a world that feels too loud. The Rewind: ⏪M. Rochelle connects the dots between childhood survival patterns and her current physical reality. This isn't a clinical lecture; it's a student’s report from the front lines of evolution. In this episode, we explore:• The "Body Armor" Effect: Why your jaw, neck, and shoulders are holding onto a fight that already ended.• The Garden Within: A look at why M. Rochelle is prioritizing Dr. Anita Phillips’ research on tending to our internal soil.• The Biblical Anchor: Psalm 46:10 What does it actually mean to "slacken the grip" of survival mode?Disclaimer: ✋🏾M. "Resting is an act of war against survival mode. It is the ultimate way to honor your evolution." What up doe, Honorees! Welcome back to The Grace Haven. Pull up with your coffee, your wine, or whatever you need today. I am keeping it simple with my coffee as we kick it like family and friends.I’m M. Rochelle, and today we are talking about the "Rewind." As I have started this podcast journey, I’ve been reading clinical newsletters and blogs that have triggered memories I hadn't thought about in years.I’m sharing a specific memory of carrying tension as an elementary school child. At the time, a doctor dismissed it as tension pain, but reading research has me wondering if that was the early start of a survival mode mindset. While my years in the healthcare field and repetitive motions at work certainly played a role in my nerve compression, I am looking at how internal tension could also be a factor. We are exploring the "Body Armor" we might be carrying and how that constant clenching could be putting pressure on our temples and our peace. 📍 IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS:The Body Armor Concept: How carrying internal tension might manifest as physical clenching and chronic discomfort over time.Connecting the Dots: Why taking the time to rewind helped me make more sense of my current reality. The Research Trigger: How reading clinical blogs and newsletters helped me recall childhood experiences that could be related to my present health challenge. The Proactive Advocate: Why it is important to speak up with healthcare professionals. The Garden Within: A recommendation to read Dr. Anita Phillips’ book along with me.The Biblical Anchor: My insight of Psalms 46:10 Rest as Warfare: Why choosing to rest is a powerful way to honor your evolution and trust the Creator over the chaos.⚓️ THE GRACE NOTE"Grace isn't just a safety net for our mistakes, it is the fuel for our growth. Episode 03: The Foundation Audit: Closing The LoopWhat up doe, Honorees! ✨In the rush of survival mode, we often move so fast that we leave gems behind. This episode is a pivot from urgency to excellence. We are "running it back" to conduct a Foundation Audit—closing the loops on our Pilot, Episode 01, and Episode 02.Before we can truly evolve into our 2026 overflow, we have to make sure the ground we’re standing on is solid. Today, I’m getting raw and uncut about the things I missed, the "Why" behind Honoring M.E.™, and why being "unscripted" is a choice to stay human in an AI-driven world. In this episode, we’re digging into: * The Pilot Audit: The real story behind the name "Honoring M.E." (My Evolution) and the life contract I signed with myself. * The Firewall Deep-Dive: Why "No" is a complete sentence and how to handle the guilt of protecting your peace. * The Ministry: My heart behind bringing others to Christ through this journey.⚓️ THE GRACE NOTE: "Grace isn't just a safety net for our mistakes; it’s the fuel for our growth. "Beating the clock is a survival trait; honoring the message is an evolution trait." What up doe, Honorees! Welcome back to The Grace Haven. These are conversations over coffee or wine, or whatever you like to pull up with in this space.I’m M. Rochelle, and today we are doing things a little differently. After reviewing our first few conversations, I noticed a lot of gems that I left out or didn't close off. One of the challenges of being raw and uncut is that my heart often flows faster than my mind can keep up with. I prefer to break the rules and do things my way because that is where the authenticity lives, but excellence requires that we don't build on a shaky foundation. In this episode, we are running it back to conduct a Foundation Audit. I’m bringing clarity to the origins of Honoring M.E. (My Evolution), sharing some "late" realizations about my own history, and being transparent about the bi-weekly schedule we are moving into to keep our excellence high. We are making sure the ground we’re standing on is solid before we move into the next version of us. 📍 IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS:The Foundation Audit: Why circling back to close a loop is a sign of strength, not a mistake. The Life Contract: The real story of how I decided on the name Honoring M.E. and the decision to launch the mission in less than a month.Bi-Weekly Evolution: An update on the podcast rhythm and balancing this purpose with my other projects.Ministry through Experience: Why I choose to share Christ as my source of peace and how that foundation supersedes everything I lacked growing up.The Proverbs Wisdom: Why arguing with people who are committed to misunderstanding you is a waste of your time. The Childhood Trace: Realizing that survival mode started way before my 20's/motherhood and how to protect the next generation from the same cycle.⚓️ THE GRACE NOTE"Grace isn't just a safety net for our mistakes; it’s the fuel for our growth. "Survival mode makes you a robot in your own life. It is time to reintroduce yourself to yourself." What up doe, Honorees! Welcome back to The Grace Haven for another conversation about Honoring M.E. (My Evolution). In this episode, we are defining the 15-Minute Firewall. I am sharing my personal journey with nerve compression and carpal tunnel, a battle I have been fighting since 1999, and how that physical pain finally forced me to get quiet enough to hear the truth. I realized I had reached a blessed age and yet, I hadn't truly lived. I was just a robot in a daily routine of "have-to's."We are talking about taking back the things the enemy came to kill, steal, and destroy. Whether it is starting that business, getting back to school, or simply finding the time to breathe, you owe it to yourself to step off the treadmill.📍 IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS:The 15-Minute Firewall: Why taking a minimum of 15 minutes a day is a healthy alternative to keep yourself from "poppin' off" and an easy way to get recentered. The Body Check: My 20-year journey with nerve compression and why you must fight for yourself when it comes to medical professionals.Reintroducing Yourself: What happens when the "flow" of life slows down and you realize you have been living for everyone but yourself.Desperation vs. Intention: How taking a moment to decompress prevents us from making reactive decisions that make situations worse. The Support System: Building the community I wish I had, a space for sisterhood, real talk, and straight up laughs.⚓️ THE GRACE NOTE"Excellence over Urgency. "Survival mode is moving because you HAVE to, not because you want to. It’s time to trade the 'have-to' for the 'want-to'." What up doe, Honorees! Welcome back to The Grace Haven for another real talk conversation about Honoring M.E.™ (My Evolution). Go ahead and do a vibe check for me. I’m rolling with a grapefruit tangerine margarita mix today: no tequila, just the vibes. In this episode, we are digging into the receipts. I asked Google a simple question: What are the indicators of survival mode? I wanted to see if the things I’ve felt in my own life matched the data. Real talk: the list was a mirror.I’m sharing my own "Aha!" moments: from the physical muscle tension that had my nail tech telling me to relax my eyebrows, to the mental fog that had me present in body but completely absent in memory. We’re talking about what it means to be a "recovering survival mode Queen" and why we have to recognize the loop before we can exit it. 📍 IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS:Moving out of Desperation: Why doing things because you "have to" drains your battery and kills your joy.Physical Receipts: Chronic fatigue, digestive issues, and that involuntary muscle tension. (Yes, we’re talking about the eyebrow story!). 😳Memory and Presence: Why survival mode makes you "present but not present" and how it affects your ability to retain beautiful moments.Generational Survival: Looking at how our parents raised us and how we can protect our own children from entering the survival arena. The Enemy’s Strategy: Grounding the struggle in John 10:10. Recognizing what survival mode is trying to steal, kill, and destroy in your life. The "Slick Talk" Tool: A practical step for when people try you at work or in your personal life. Take the "woosah" moment before you react. I’m sharing my truth because I don't want you to have to learn the hard way. Whether you lean on Christ like I do, or you’re navigating the path through therapy and community, the goal is the same: Regulate your nervous system and start living for real. ⚓️ THE GRACE NOTE"Excellence over Urgency. "Stop existing. Start living. It’s time to honor the version of you that is trying to grow and/or sustain the growth you already made."What up doe, Honorees! Welcome to the pilot episode of Honoring M.E.™ (My Evolution). Pull up with your coffee, your wine, or whatever you need to roll up in this space. I’m M. Rochelle, and in this first conversation, I’m letting my heart lead. I chose to keep this raw and uncut because that’s just me. I like directness. I’m done with the "staged" and "polished" versions of life that we see everywhere else. If the fillers or the "umms" make you cringe, that’s fine, as long as the message hits your spirit. This episode is the foundation. I’m sharing the "Aha!" moment I had at almost 50, realizing that I had spent decades in survival mode. Between raising four children as a single parent and the daily grind of life, I wasn't even on my own radar.📍 IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:The Detroit DNA: Why grit and resilience are part of my biological and cultural makeup. The Grace Haven: Why we all deserve space to make mistakes and forgive ourselves. The Acronym: Breaking down why M.E. stands for My Evolution. The Missing Support: Why I’m building a community of accountability partners and mentors for the life experiences we all share.Breaking Muscle Memory: Shifting from "Robot Mode" to intentional alignment. I’m doing this for me just as much as I’m doing it for you. This is my way of holding myself accountable to the growth I want to see. We are going to grow together, learn together, and have some straight-up laughs along the way. ⚓️ THE GRACE NOTE"Excellence over Urgency. Always.
