This week, the MennoBrarians do a deep dive into the world of fan fiction. The first half of the ep we chat about fan fiction generally - what it is, perceptions of it, and what fandoms we tend to read from. The second half, we chat about Amish and Mennonite themed fan fictions, of which there are about 200 on the site Archive of Our Own (a site that contains almost 18 million fics). Tillie pulled what she could find into a collection: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/AnabaptistFics If you've never read fan fiction, you can explore AO3 without an account: https://archiveofourown.org/, and/or register for an account for free if you become as invested in your fic reading as the three of us have. Fan fiction also exists on sites like WattPad, Fanfiction.net and Tumbler. We don't discuss fanfic etiquette in the episode so posting it here: if you choose to read fics on any fan fic site, remember these authors are working for free: leave a comment or kudos if you like it, and close the tab if you don't.
