So many of us wait to seek help until we are in full-on crisis mode. I got permission from my daughter to share our story of seeking help when she was in middle school. There was no crisis, but I knew she needed someone outside of our family unit to talk to. It was such a powerful experience for all of us. My hope is that sharing our experience may encourage other families to be proactive in finding resources for their teens.
