A basic level of nutrition knowledge is often missing from some highly educated and successful people. This results in obesity that they often blame on “genetics”. One doesn’t need to spend one’s entire life planning and tracking calories. Angus & Graham discuss some simple strategies for becoming and staying lean, whilst continuing to enjoy food and drink, and eating out at restaurants.-

Angus & Graham emphasise that calories only matter over time, not in a single meal. You can eat well Monday to Friday, but if weekends turn into a free-for-all, it can wipe out the entire week’s deficit without you realising. A couple of takeaways, excess alcohol, desserts and mindless snacking can easily add thousands of extra calories. The goal is consistency, not perfection. They enjoy weekends, but stay aware. Keep portions sensible, prioritise protein, and avoid the “I’ll start again Monday” mindset. Fat loss comes from what you repeatedly do, not what you occasionally do.- Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

Graham discusses whether Angus could be replaced by a bot. They talk about the advantages of AI trainers and what added value a human can give. There are clear financial advantages in not having a human trainer, but the motivation, lifting form and emotional context are hard to replicate virtually. Angus is surprisingly positive on AI as an additional tool in training.-Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

Graham uses and Apple Watch to monitor his steps and once used a whoop but gave up. He and Angus discuss their experiences with fitness trackers. While such devices, including and smart watches, can encourage healthier habits, they also have notable downsides. Constant monitoring of steps, calories, sleep, and heart rate can create anxiety and an unhealthy obsession with data, leading some people to prioritise numbers over how they actually feel. -Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

Angus and Graham detail the 80:20 life. Graham notices that Angus’ knowledge of Pareto is lacking. Some people go all in and some do nothing. Life is all about balance in nutrition, fitness and fun. They discuss their own journeys and how they have come to understand the joy of a healthy, balanced life where your fitness amplifies the rest of your time.-Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

So many people underestimate their calorie consumption. The result is that they go on stop-start fad diets then revert to norm. Angus & Graham discuss permanent, consistent change to improve body composition and physical appearance. The gym and exercise alone is not the solution.-Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

What is the difference between men and women? Graham & Angus explain that both sexes should consider how they feel on training days. Some days will be more cardio focussed and some more weights. You may feel like you have the ability to go hard on some days and not on others. Training consistently is the goal but you do need to adapt. This could be due to a lack of sleep, stress at work or your menstrual cycle.-Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

If you are a busy professional and a parent with young children, you may think that you do not have enough time to exercise. Graham & Angus describe some solutions. They involve habit stacking, strict time management, and how to decompress from an intense working day. They also detail the impact your exercise regime can have on your children, and your relationship with your partner.-🏋️ Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

Graham & Angus discuss the amount of time they spend on their phones. Screen time is not generic. Some screen time is productive (reading newspapers etc). Your phone may also be useful in encouraging NEAT (listening to an audiobook whilst walking). However it can clearly also be unproductive (extending rest periods in the gym). They discuss how they have learnt to manage these conflicts.-🏋️ Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/

Graham and Angus discuss the idea of “treats” - a term that particularly irritates Graham. Often labelled as “cheat meals”, these foods are typically low in nutrient density: they provide calories but very little protein or fibre, and are often high in sugar. Reframing how you think about these foods can be powerful during a fat-loss journey. Rather than seeing them as rewards or “cheats”, it can be more helpful to recognise them simply as foods that provide calories with limited nutritional value. They can still have a place occasionally, but changing your mindset around them can make a meaningful difference to long-term consistency and results.🏋️ Ready to stop winging it and start training with purpose, clarity and support? https://jc9cc7oe7jf.typeform.com/to/feOjPDNj-⚫ Get in touch in the comments below or head to...Instagram: Lift For Life - https://www.instagram.com/the_liftforlife_podcast/Instagram: Angus Warburton - https://www.instagram.com/angus_warburton/Instagram: Graham Ambrose - https://www.instagram.com/liftforlife.gdog/
