It is Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are. We were just on his show recently and had a fantastic conversation and I gleamed from that that Kevin had a lot of fascinating stories to share. Kev, thanks for joining us. Before we get into it, let's talk about where people can find your podcast.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, absolutely. First of all, thanks for having me. The last time when you guys were on the show, it was a lot of fun being able to talk with you guys and hear your story. So that was pretty dope. But yeah, so the show is where the Weird Ones Are podcast. You can find it at where the weird ones are podcast.com you can find me on Instagram where underscore the Weird ones are. And Facebook, where the weird ones are. And on the website is. I sell, so I do hot sauce. I make my own hot sauce. I have a coffee company and I also have supplements and I do short stories. I'm also working on a movie, so I'm trying to get into horror movies. So, yeah, it's a. It's a. It's been a lot of fun. This podcast journey has opened up a lot of doors for me, and I'm having a blast doing it.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So outside, Kev, outside of your brand of. Of hot sauce, what's your favorite hot sauce?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Oh, man, there's so many that I can't even. Anything hot. If it, if it's gonna. If it's gonna melt my brain, that's what I want.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
I gotta admit, I'm a big hot sauce enjoyer, but I've. I've moved away from the really hot stuff and I go more for flavor. And I know people are gonna hate this because it's like, if you're a hot sauce enjoyer, you hate kind of the mainstream ones. Cholula is really great. Frank's is good. Frank's just tastes good. I've come to this place where I realized that Frank's Red Hot just tastes good. It's a good tasting hot sauce. I got into hot sauce really big when I was doing, like, the ketogenic thing because it's one of the few sauces that makes taste better but isn't loaded with sugar and all the, the, you know, the goy slop. It's really just like cayenne pepper and vinegar and a couple other ingredients. And. And I realized, like, yeah, Frank's actually tastes really good.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. For real. I, you know, I've. For a long time, I veered away from anything spicy. I was like, that. I don't want that. I don't want to burn my tongue while I'm trying to enjoy a meal. And then, just like you, I was doing. I was doing this weight loss journey and I was seeing this girl and she's like, you know, I cut out bread and started just putting hot sauce on everything. I was like, really hot sauce. And she's like, yeah. And then I start. So that's what. And then I fell in love with hot sauce, and now I make my own. First I started with the one that I call hot lemon squeeze, and I put. Started making that with like, as my buffalo. My chicken. Buffalo. My buffalo chicken sauce. You know, for game day or watching football or whatever. Just like a midnight snack or something. And, and then somebody told me, oh, I think somebody was like, you should go. You should go to some of these events. And vend. I'm like, I don't have anything to vend. And they're like, you don't like, do anything or. I was like, well, I make a hot sauce. And they're like, you should bottle that and. And sell that. And that's kind of how the hot sauce was born out of that.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's cool. That's awesome.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Usually, like, man, there's a lot of people that do like, third party stuff.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah, making your own is always a cool move.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Yeah, it's cool when someone's like, no, no, I like how this tastes. So I do it myself. You think we would do.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
I mean, we literally are in a coffee shop. One of these days we're gonna have a nephilim death squad brand of coffee.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Oh, yeah, no, soon.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
We're working on it.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Yeah, we're working with someone doing that.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Oh, very cool.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Very cool.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
See, I don't even know what the goes on on my own show, so. All right, man, this is. I'm excited because, truth be told, you know, we. So we do chronicles and we get these emails and, you know, we're trying to do our best presenting people's testimony, but we are terrible people. So oftentimes we do a really bad job of that. And it's actually like you'll spend 90% of the time complaining about the Jews or something, and 10% of the time actually reading the testimony. And, and so, but, but people's testimony, people's stories about the supernatural, I find are a great thing to help other people in their walk because a lot of people have a lot of weird things happen to them and they don't really know what to do with it. And typically they just keep it inside. Myself, I found that seeking out others testimony and listening to that helped me in my own walk, helped me to come to Christ. And I think that one of the worst things that we can do is. I don't think anybody can hear that.
Orderly Meds Announcer
Right.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
I don't know what that was. One of the worst things we can do is keep that inside and not share it because it's, It's. It's such a hard, hard thing to kind of present to the public, you know, because we live in this.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Oh, absolutely.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah. We live in a society where you really can't talk about these things. And so I'm eager to get into your stories, and I think that the best place to start if you're up to it is. Is childhood. I mean, I imagine that based off of our previous conversation, that's kind of where this started for you.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, absolutely. The very. As far back as I can remember as being the first. Probably the first one encounter I had is it was. We were living in the mountains in Vermont at the time. I was probably 4 or 5, and we had just got done watching Ghostbusters 2, and my sister had gone into her room, and she came out flipping out. She's like, there's a witch. There's. There's a witch in my. My. My. My window. And my mom's like, there's no such thing as witches. Blah, blah, blah, blah. My sister recalls it as a face. And I was like, well, I remember you saying which. And she's like, no, I just remember there being a face in my window. I was like, regardless, that's still scary. As. Especially two little. She's a year and a half younger than me. So anyway, I like four or five, I think.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Okay.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
So she was. She had to be like three, which is honestly not a lot of people remember. Remember anything from, like, that area of. Of life.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
But you know what I find, Kev, is the people that do typically remember something supernatural.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Like if you didn't have something supernatural back then, then you. You are might be inclined to say, I don't have any memories from that young. But if you are inclined to say, I have memories from that young, it's typically of something very strange event. Yes.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. So anyways, my dad had just gotten home, like, as this is happening, and he goes into her room, and he's trying to console her, make her feel better. He's like, I'm gonna send superheroes outside to watch over the house. That kind of thing. And I walked. I just get done brushing my teeth, and I walk to the. Down the hall into my bedroom. I'm standing in the doorway of my bedroom, and directly across from the doorway is like a double window. So two windows, like, right next to each other. And I see these two figures that were darker than the darkness. It's pitch black outside, and I could still make out these two figures going flying by my window. And in my brain, you know, my sister being like, there's a witch in my window. I. I'm seeing these two figures as these two witches flying around the house on brooms, just going, you're seeing me, huh?
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
You're seeing this?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. Like, I'm like, I can't tell that what they are. I just know that they're figures. But because my, my sister had said witches, I'm just like, there's two witches flying around the house and broomsticks, you know? But like, when I saw it, I was like, oh my God. And I just turned around and went back to the living room, sat on the couch and in the light where I knew that it was safe, where people could see me. And I didn't go back. And then my dad comes out and he's like, what are you doing? And I didn't even think to tell him. I was just like, oh, just I don't want to go to bed.

Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile. Now I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited Premium Wireless for $15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills, but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try@mintmobile.com switch upfront payment

of $45 for three months, $90 for six months or $180 for a 12 month plan required 15 per month equivalent to taxes and fees. Extra initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes. Me slow when network is busy.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
See terms get the bed. And so I went to bed and like nothing ever happened again that that night in particular. But I will say we were in a trailer on the side of a mountain and that being said, like the trailer wasn't on flat ground so it had to be raised a little bit. So to even put a face in the Window, you had to be significantly tall because I remember there being quite a foundation and quite a bit of steps to get to our front porch, too.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
This is. And for the. For the audience, I want to tell people that you are. And at this time, I'm imagining you still are. You're in Appalachia.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
And there's no shortage. Like that is. It's just a weird mountain. And so many stories come out of there, so many strange things. I saw something recently where somebody was clearing like, sort of almost like bramble bushes from their yard, and there was a naked old woman standing in the. In the thorn bushes, but, like, behind them. And the guy's going, look, she's right there. And you can barely see her, but through one of the holes in the bush, you can see her eye. And then she moves. And you can see enough of her face that you realize this is an old woman. And then you can kind of see through enough of the bush that you realize she's naked and she's not. She's not in distress, dude. She's watching this guy. And like. So there is no shortage of. Are all of your experience. You've lived there your whole life, right? Appalachia.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. So to put it in perspective, for people that don't know, Appalachia runs from Maine all the way to Georgia. So you. You got the mountains all the way through New England, New York, Virginia, the Carolinas, all the way to Georgia.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
That's.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's quite a while. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's called the. That's the Appalachia Trail. Right. So that, that does. You know people. I know people that have, like, hiked it and such. Yeah. It stretches that are all along the east coast, practically.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. And the. Once you get to Maine, you're not. You're not seeing any civilization anymore. So. Yeah, the. It's called the hundred. 100 miles wilderness stretch for. For the trail, specifically. So, like, when you're on the trail, once you get into Maine, you're. You're not seeing anybody. You're not. There's. You're far away from society. Once you're out there,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
when you're saying, you know, my sister thought she saw a witch, and then I'm seeing something. It's.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
And.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
And you know, she saw a face in the window and all these other things, like, you're, You're. You're in the thick of it. You're in the place where none of these things are surprising, maybe if you're not familiar with these types of stories. But once you start to, you just find like if you listen to any kind of testimony in the body of strange, supernatural, natural testimony, I, I wonder what percentage come from Appalachia. Gotta be north of like 50, 60%.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Oh for sure. I 100 agree. And the most, most of the people that I talk to are from this area too. So especially like when I go vend or something like that, people will come up to me like oh, you have a podcast. And I go yeah, like what is it about? And I go ghosts, freaking cryptids, anything freaking weird fringe because conspiracies, all that. All that. And they're like I had a really weird experience. And I go oh yeah, I bet you did. Are you from this area? And they're like, yeah, well you know, there you go. Just kind of goes hand in hand. Yeah, people don't you in the woods.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah. It's like, you know, you're, you tend to be a product. If, if being a product of your environment is, is true then like yeah, people from that area, they're, they're gonna make supernatural podcasts
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
for sure. For sure. Yeah. And so the seeing these two, you know, figures I've seen, I started seeing figure after that. It was just like shadow person after shadow person for the rest of my life. And we ended up moving from Vermont to Maine and I started seeing them in my grand. We were living with my grandparents and I started seeing them in my grandparents basement and they were, I mean they weren't doing anything, they were just kind of like. Some of them would be like standing like this leaned up against the lolly column or crouched in the corner or something like that and it was really creepy. My grandfather decided to build bedroom down in the basement. He ended up giving the bedroom to my older brother, but he still had like a section of like where he kept tools or like miscellaneous stuff that he randomly would need. And every time he was like hey Kevin, go get me this or whatever down in the basement. I'm like I don't wanna. But so I did. And then I would see like the, a shadow person every freaking time and I would start singing and I thought like this is in my kid brain. I was like, if I'm serenading them, they will not hurt me. So I would sing a song the whole time I was walking through the basement to get whatever it was when I got to the stairs and as soon as my feet hit the stairs I was like right up the stairs as fast as I could. And I don't know what it is about singing, but I've I always. And even to this to. Well, I don't do it really anymore, but into adulthood. Whenever I was scared, I would start like humming a tune or I try and sing to make it. I don't know. For some reason my brain told me that ghosts will not hurt you if you're singing.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's interesting. I mean, I, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there's something to that. You know, so much of this phenomenon has to do with, with kind of resonance and frequency. Harmonics play a big role in it. And you know, it even talks about the angels in heaven are constantly singing holy, holy, holy. Right. So there is this idea of music. And I know that music can directly affect your mood. I mean, a depressing song, a sad song can really pull you down into the dumps if you're, if you're making a horror movie to create a suspenseful, you know, atmosphere, you would use music that would lend itself to that. And, and in fact, it's not even just lend itself to it. If you're watching a horror film and there was a scary moment, the, the soundtrack is a huge part of that. It's a huge component to creating that, that, you know, that feeling, that ambiance. And I do believe that these things feed off of low vibrational energy. They feed off of depression, anxiety, fear, sadness, these, these elements of the emotional spectrum. So maybe there is something to be said about changing the energy you're putting off by doing something as simple as, as singing a happy tune. For sure.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
I will say that, you know, from the time of the first experience, throughout the whole time up until my teenage years, you know, there was a whole lot of depression and, and stuff like that. You know, I, I'm not gonna sit here and say that I had a terrible childhood, but it wasn't great. There was a lot of aspects, like as soon as my dad left, it was like my mom just had this like, eye for me. Like, it was, it was almost like she saw my dad's face and just like hated me out of, you know, the, the four of us. And you know, my little, my little brother was the baby, my sister was a girl, and my older brother didn't even. Wasn't my dad's kid. So I was my dad's first and my mom's second. But it was like immediate, like, it was like an immediate switch. I was treated completely different out of nowhere. And so I grew up freaking. I grew up so angry at the world, you know, So I do think that a lot like during this period of time because there was, there was a lot of things going from that first experience to my grandparents house. We were already had moved several times and then my dad was like zipped and you know, my dad, I love my dad. You know, I love my mom too, because she's my mom. But, you know, and I don't want to disparage either of them too much, but as soon as my dad left, it was like, I'm not a dad anymore kind of thing. You know, he's like, he'd show up once in a while and he was like. And he would do kind of a couple things with us or whatever, but it didn't. It's almost like it was like an obligation. That's what it felt like. More like he had to do it. That's why he did. If he could get away with not doing it, he wouldn't do it. That was kind of how it felt. But like before he left we were like best friends and then he was gone.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's rough. Do you think that that anger, that your siblings felt the same anger?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Possibly. I, I think my sister did and my, my, I think my, my little brother was a little bit too young to really understand the difference because it was shortly after he was born that so, so it was like 96, I think he was born in 95. And as soon as he, you know, so my brother kind of grew up knowing that dad only was around occasionally anyway. But I went from, you know, being with my dad all the time trying to do like we would, we'd build snow forts, we would build blanket forts and leaf, we make leaf piles and jump in it together and stuff like that. Like we did a lot of stuff together and then it went from that to nothing. Yeah. So is that. It was, it was pretty rough. And my, my sister felt it too. And like probably first time I say this publicly, you know, at the time, throughout this transition, I was also being molested. So that wasn't helpful either.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So I mean, what you're touching on right now is like that's all childhood trauma in my experience. These are the things that open up a lot of. I don't know how to put it, I want to say portals. But like these things get access to you through trauma.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
And what do they call, I think Dr. Laura Baker called them like altars.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Oh, that's interesting. Having alters within yourself.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Yeah, yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
And that these things are created during moments of trauma. And I know for myself, like my dad left when I was like three and even though I was still young. It created a lot of that same kind of anger. I was very angry as a kid for a really long time. And you know, I also had a bunch of strange experiences when it comes to shadow people and this and that. The other thing, and it's like, yeah, man, this is how they, they get, they get their talons in. And then I think what they do from there is the very same energy they feed off of is the very same energy that they, they evoke in you. So things will happen in your life and you'll be nudged in this direction or that direction, and the name of the game is pushing you in a way that you will create the very energy that they feed off of.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Absolutely, I, I agree. I, you know, it's like, it's almost like you have to go through this and then whatever entity or you know, say the devil or whatever is like, well, now they are a little more susceptible to my suggestions. Yeah, that's, that's what it feels like to me. So, so through probably. Oh, sorry, go ahead.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
No, go ahead, go ahead.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
I was just gonna say like from like 13 to my early 20s, I was probably like, honestly, if my son didn't come along, there would be a good chance I'd be dead or in jail. So, yeah,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
I think, Kev, that, that you're experiences, you know, one of the things that you're very lucky, I would say you're blessed to have come out the other end recognizing that these things are spiritual because a lot of people don't realize that it's spiritual. A lot of people just have anger and sadness in them from, you know, the way that they were treated or the things that the world did to them. But I think without the spiritual implications of it, the fundamental difference is you don't realize that by staying in your anger, you are feeding something. Something that is happy that you went through those things. Something that is happy that you're living a self destructive lifestyle and something that is happy that you're continuing to, to put that energy out there. Whereas if you know that this is a spiritual warfare thing, you then can make a decision to stop feeding the enemy.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Absolutely, absolutely. It's like seeing yourself in the mirror for the first time and you have clown makeup on and you're like, oh, I gotta get this off, dude. Yeah, so, but yeah, it's like, it's almost like. And it feels like a weight and then you don't tell anybody and then you got, you, you're starting to. And then you start spiraling and then Once you start opening up and really telling, which is a lot of people, people have a problem with opening up and especially like, like on here, like what my show does. And you know, there's a lot of firsts for me opening up as well, telling my story. And there's a lot of stories that I have that like, make me sound absolutely like nuts. And some of them I'm like, did I really experience that? I remember it being real, I remember it that way. But is it, was it real? And you know, I question myself all the time. And I think that's, I think taking everything that happens skeptically is, is healthy. Like, I think we discussed this, if I remember correctly when you guys were on my show about how not every, just because something goes bump doesn't mean it's, it's, it's a ghost or it's supernatural. You know, sometimes it's, it's, sometimes there's a real, real world explanation for it. And I think that's, I think it's healthy to question everything. And that's why I say question everything at the end of every episode. Because, you know, who knows what is real? Reality is perspective based on your perspective. So whatever your life experience is, how it is going to shape your reality around your life.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
So you've been, you've been doing this show for a couple of years and I think you said you might been doing this for longer than us. I think you said five years when we were on your show. What, what are some of the things that you've discovered? Any stories that stick out to you or stories that overlap, like, like that, that fill in some of these gaps to the question that you had when you started this endeavor?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Honestly, I'm gonna say that since I, I, I'm coming away with more questions, but I do. What has drove what. I'll say that God element. Through all of this, everything leads back to God. You know, you got alien encounters, shadow people, ghosts, cryptids, whatever, Bigfoot, anything, you know, and it, you know, a lot of these people, they're, they're scared out of their mind and then they're like, in the name of Jesus, I rebuke you. And whatever it is, doesn't matter what it is across the board. Bigfoot, alien, ghost, shadow person, they stop and they listen, you know, because so, and the more I, you know, more, the more I heard that. And then I have my son in my ear going, you know, the way Jesus is the right way, you know, you gotta, you gotta believe in, you gotta accept Jesus in your heart. Man. And, like, he's, like, sitting next to me just, like, in my, like, whispering in my ear. He's like, hey, you know, God's calling you. God's calling you. I mean, he's not literally saying that, but, like, he's talking about Jesus constantly.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
And.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
And then I'm talking to these people who are having these experiences, and, like, I. I use the name of Jesus, and it just stops. And a lot of people are like, well, it's just the intent, but at the same time, like, I don't know. It's. It's a. It's a weird thing. So I would say what the connect. A lot of, like, connection and overlapping thing would be, you know, God. And. And it's brought me to. To the Bible, basically, is.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's been a huge. For me too. So. And then when people say it's. It's all about intent, it's like, well, it specifically says in the Bible that Jesus's name gives you authority over these things. So I guess that's just a strange coincidence. But the more you look into it, the more strange coincidences pile up until eventually it's like, all right, well, I'm gonna stop treating this like a coincidence, and I'm gonna start treating this like it's a aspect of. Of, you know, the world that we live in, which is there's a supernatural war happening, a spiritual war, and that alignment with Christ is picking a side in that war. It's also picking the winning side in that war. You said before that there were these stories that you check yourself on, which I've had those, and I shared some of those with you on the show. These things were like, you revisit, and you're like, did that really happen? And is that like. I understand exactly what you mean. It's a little bit hard to articulate. But did that happen? Did it happen the way that I remember it happening? Am I telling a story, or am I recalling a memory, like, what actually went down there? And I do that a lot. I revisit these moments, and I try to ground them in reality as much as possible because I don't want to get on and lie and. And I don't want to take something that's so important because it feels like it was this really important moment in my life, and it changed the direction of where my focus was permanently. Right, you too. You're sitting in this chair. You're doing these shows. It altered you permanently. So these are, like, anchor moments in our lives. It makes sense to revisit them and just say like, hey, I'm a little bit sharper now. I've got some new information. Let's revisit this thing and see if it still stands on its own two legs or can I tear this down and find out that it was. And of course for me those moments still stands. Let's talk about some of those moments for you. What are, what are some of those moments that you still revisit? And you go like, did that really happen?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
So I have several of those stories. I'll give you the first. I'll try and do it chronologically. So the first one, it was shortly after I had, I was, I was 9, I know I was 10 in the experience. So it was almost about a year after I had tried to take my own life. I tried, I tried, I attempted at 9 and then like I just, it exploded after that. Like there was just experience after experience after experience and it was all shadow people until this moment. And I was sitting on the swing set in the back of my grandparents house and I'm not, I'm not really swinging, I'm just kind of holding on the chains, just kind of like rocking and I see something out of the corner of my eye and I just turn my head and there is a clear figure sitting on the swing. Next to me is an older man, probably like 30ish, so not really older, but like obviously older than me. I was 10. But he was wearing a. He was, he was wispy and he was see through and he, what I could make out was he was wearing a suit, but it wasn't a business suit. It was just like, it was just like I, I go to, I work in a cubicle kind of thing. It wasn't like super professional, but yeah. And I couldn't hear. His face was distorted. And what I remember is he had something in his hand. I don't remember this clearly but it was something stringy. And what I equate it to is either he was eating a bowl of noodles or he was knitting like a sweater or something, whatever. And he had yarn or whatever it was, was stringing down into his lap. And I stare at him and I'm like kind of like frozen. And he goes, hey, be patient. I'm like, about what? He's like, you'll know. And then like it was almost like he just went to pay back to paying attention to whatever he was doing. And then my head just like went down and I'm staring at this rock in front of me and what felt like hours was probably like two seconds. And I was like, it was like a sleep paralysis kind of thing where I wanted to move and I just could not make my body move. And I'm squeezing onto these chains and then finally I slowly turned my head back over and he's gone. And as soon as I know and realized he was gone, I was up and inside the house. And, you know, I think about that moment all the time because number one, what do I need to be patient about? And I think a lot of it is just life in general. And I think that was not only a message from the universe, from the creator, from God, Jesus, whatever you, you know, whatever it, what it, whatever it is, but also from ancestry. There's a part of me that, you know, I've told the story to another podcast, I can't remember anyways, but he came back with, well, did you have any older men that, you know, passed away around that time? And my uncle had passed away probably about two years, maybe three before that. And he had died head on collision with a tree. He was drunk driving on his 25th birthday. Smashed his face. I wasn't allowed to go to his wake because his face was so up. Right. So they didn't want any children at the wake because of his face. And so this apparition thing, face being distorted, just kind of like, was that my uncle kind of thing? And when I think about it these days, I'm just like, was that crazy or was I just like putting that into my head because of a TV show and I was thinking about my uncle at the same time, like, like subconsciously, and I just didn't realize. But what, where'd that message come from? Be patient,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
man. I mean, nine years, what age was this?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
I was 10.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
10 years old, so, so my son just turned 11. And if he came to the, to me and told me this happened last year, I would, I would take it pretty seriously because I understand the sentience of a 10 year old. Like, I know he's pretty well there. Yeah, sure, he might get a little spacey, I might tell him to do something, he might forget, you know, or whatever. But as far as the, the linearity of his stories, it's there. I can ask him, how was your day at school? And he's going to tell me what happened at school. And it's, I don't have a problem, you know, because much younger ages, it's like there's, there's a real kind of difficulty in grasping what it is they're saying it's hard for them to lay it out in a way that is coherent, that makes sense, you know, as far as like a timeline goes. But 10 years old. 10 years old. I'm, I'm, I'm fine with whatever he's telling me at 10 years old, you know, I can read between the lines enough to understand what he's saying. It's not even that difficult. If he told me that a man was next to him on the swing, I mean, how far was this man?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Literally, like two feet.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Two feet?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
I mean, he's not going to make a mistake looking at something that's two feet away from him. And to come back and say he told me to be patient, you know, to come back and say he was wearing a suit and to even wrestle with the idea. Like not a super fancy suit, but a suit. Like, you know, maybe, maybe he was just going to work. I got. I don't know what I would make of it, but I would believe him. I would believe him because he's, he's far exceeded the age where I think when you're very little, you know, two, three years old, I think sometimes men, some of that spiritual realm bleeds over into a way where little kids can see it, catch glimpses of it, and maybe it's here one moment and gone the next, but not in ways that we can see it. And so, you know, really hard to. But a 10 year old. I don't think that I. In other words, my son has come to me in recent years and told me about dreams. And the dreams were concerning enough that I was like, you need to pray. You need to pray to Jesus to send this thing away. He had a dream for a while about a dog, you know, that was like speaking to him. And it, he had multiple dreams about the same dog that was talking to him. And it had like yellow glowing eyes. And I was like, yeah, dog, we're gonna pray about that. We're gonna pray that, that, that thing goes away. And so, yeah, I mean, if he told me that, that's, that's a big one. And it's interesting too. I think it counts for a lot what you think that means, because honestly, at the end of the day, Kev, like, you're not going to be able to have real answers for that. And I think that spiritual ones are, are like things that you intuit, things that you feel. And so, yeah, maybe you're right. Maybe, maybe it's about life.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, for sure. That's. I mean, that, that's all I can really put to it at this Point is, just be patient and, you know, things will fall into place. Things will fall in the line the way that it's supposed to be, what's meant for you will be with you, or, you know, all that. And, you know, you don't have to. You're not going to be, like, starting the podcast. You're not going to be successful. And I, you know, I never started it to be successful or to be big or anything like that. I just do it because I love the conversations of it.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Right.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
And I suck at marketing anyway, so it's not gonna go. Like, I'm fine with it the way it is. It's totally cool. And, you know, I'm still gonna rock it. But, yeah, I do. I definitely think it's. At least if. Even if it didn't happen, I have a cool story to say. Hey, man, just be patient. Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah, I like that, too, because a lot of the times when we're dealing with these experiences, I can't help but wonder the nature of a thing, like, is this demonic? And when I say demonic, I just mean, like, does it have your best interests? Is it in alignment with God or is it deceptive in its nature? And is it trying to, like. But I don't know. I. I don't think that your dead loved ones cannot appear to you in some meaningful way. I mean, obviously in the Bible, there are instances of that happening. And I just don't think that spiritual experiences are totally unlocked by the demonic realm. I don't think they have, you know, what. What would be the. The expression, like, I don't think they have. They're the only ones that are able to interact with us in any meaningful way. I think things do get through, both good and bad. I wonder sometimes about.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
No.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Well, I don't know. But so, you know, it sounds like if you were to test the fruits of that, is something appearing to you and telling you to be patient. I struggle to see how that's bad.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. Yeah. I think the only bad thing was the feeling of fear. That was like, the only bad thing out of that whole entire thing is because, you know, I'm seeing something that you. I don't normally see that I've never seen before. And it's scary to me. And it's just like a lot of things in life when you're trying something new for the first time, it can be scary anyway, so, you know, it. Other than, like, it was a positive message. And so I just like to think that my uncle came. It was like, you know, probably Seeing or knows of what had been transpiring and was just like, I need to let him know. And, like, the only words that could really come out was just be patient. And, you know, and in my kid brain, I'm just like, you know, maybe if I'm patient, you know, my mom will give me some candy tonight, you know?
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. In that moment, anyway. But as I grew older, I was just like, you know, I think back on it, and I was just like, huh. I think that's more of, like, a life philosophy kind of thing.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So it's definitely good.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
The. More. For sure. For sure. But. So this. This one came shortly after, and I recall this from a regression. So I was doing. I was in therapy. We did, like, this regression thing where I was bringing. Where memories came out. And when this came out, my therapist is like, well, you know, maybe you might be recalling a dream. This might have just been a dream. And it's coming out through this.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Hold on.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
As something that really happened. And it's probably just a dream. So.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Okay. Okay.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
So.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So, number one.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
So me and my sister.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So hold on. Pause real quick. We're having some latency. I want you to refresh your browser. You'll come right back in, and that should fix the latency. But we want to get into this regression thing because I want to hear a lot. I want to hear about, like, what this process is. Like, sometimes this happens for the audience, right?
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
It's like, yeah, we've been having a little bit of a delay with him anyway.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Just like, the Internet gets a little bit screwy and all that other crap. But, you know, he's talking about this regression therapy thing, and that's something that, you know, I'm obviously very skeptical and cautious of, not because I don't think that it will reveal things to you, but it's like, it's interesting that that's pro.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
That was probably, like, funded by his, like, medical plan, too, I wonder.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Oh, yeah, that's interesting. All right. Kev, can you hear us?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yes.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Okay. Awesome. And the latency seems to be gone, because that was a quick response.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Four seconds between it started getting worse
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
and worse, but now we're good. So I want to hear about this, like, the process of this regression as well, because regression therapy is. Is very fascinating, and it's a tool that people use.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
How did you end up in.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah, how did that even come out,
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
that type of therapy? Because that seems quite specific, not like a standard therapy.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, right. So I was in therapy already because. So my ex girlfriend. Her And I went through some. And we. We tried doing some couples therapy. And. And at the end of the day, it just. We. We ended up going our separate race. So I continued doing therapy on my own, you know, and I'm like, you know, there's something wrong with the. When I was a kid, all the therapy that I did was. It felt like there's something wrong with me and that I needed to be fixed. And then the more at this time, I was like, I. I should. I just need somebody to talk to that isn't going to judge me or, you know, all that stuff. So we were doing this, and I was talking a lot about my. My childhood, and I was just like, I just feel like there's certain, like, spaces in my childhood. I just can't remember. And the more we talked about, like, my childhood and there was all these gaps and stuff, so she decided to. She's like, you know, I've done this a few times. You know, we can do like, this regression. And it's more like. It's more like a hypnote. Like, it's like she's. They're trying to hypnotize you, essentially, right? So you're just. You're just kind of. You're either laying. You can be laying or you can be sitting still. You close your eyes and you gotta think. And there's usually like a ticking or something to that. You know, it's like. And then eventually you don't even hear it. And you get put in this, like, catatonic state. And she'll talk to you about a memory that you have where this blockage might be. And then you start. You go through it and you. You know. And she recorded it. I wish. I wish I had the recordings for you right now, because I just play it for you. But. So that's. So that's the setup. So this time I believe I was sitting down. I don't think it was the time I was laying down because we did it a couple times. And, you know, I'm sitting there and then my head kind of just drops and I can. And I'm telling her this thing. So this. There's. There was this one right before this happened. I was talking about. I stood on the sink of the bathroom and my mom decided it was an offense enough that warranted her choking the. Out of me. So. And then right from that story, I went into this story of. That makes me feel like I'm crazy. So my sister and I. I was. I was sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast My sister's like, you want to go outside and play? And I was like, well, you gotta ask Mom. So she. We asked Mom. She's like, we got somewhere to be. Don't be outside too long. So we're like, let's go. It's like. So it's November or late October, either way. Leaves are on the ground. There's a light dusting of snow just very. Just enough to, like, put footprints and. And stuff in it. And we're riding our bikes around, and we used to do this thing where we would pretend we were hunting monsters or aliens in the woods together. And we saw these track. Squirrel tracks going through the. In the. Like, the squirrel tracks are. They're like three, because their. Their front paws are together, and then their back paws are. Are separate. So it looks like three wrong footsteps. I'm like, oh, my God, there's an alien. So we get our stick guns and we walk. We start walking into the woods, and we come across. We're coming up to this creek, and all of a sudden, like, my vision just goes, like, blue. Like, almost like the light in here, it's like a bluish. And on the other side of the creek is this little village of mushroom people. And in the middle of their village is this big bonfire. And they're throwing all these, like, little twigs into. They're feeding. They're stoking the bonfire. And they don't look like people that are mushrooms. They're just mushrooms moving. They don't have faces, eyes, nothing. And When I was 8, I ended up getting glasses. So this is. I was 10 years old, so I had glasses for about two years. And I just feel like, this nudge on my head, and my head kind of goes like that, and my glasses fall off my face. And I feel something on my shoulder, and I turn my head and there's a mushroom on my shoulder. And like, telepathically, it said, you don't need those glasses. And I was like, really? And then he's like, yeah. And then right as he says that, everything's back to normal. My sister's standing there, and my sister's like, are you all right? Like, was. I was like, oh, my glasses. And she comes walking over to help me find my glasses, and she steps on them. And so I'm like. Immediately I'm pulled out of that whole experience. I'm just like, my glass. I'm flipping out about my glasses. So I run home, tell my mom my glasses are broken, completely forget about this. This. These mushroom people. And my mom's like, well, you have a appointment, so I'm not going to get you new glasses because your prescription might change, and I'm not going to get you glasses back to back. We were poor, so.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Right.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
A couple weeks later, we go to the doctors, we do the eye tests and stuff like that, and he's sitting in his little swivel chair and he's reading the. The results, and he just kind of like swings around and looks at me. He goes, you have 2020 vision. You don't need glasses.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
I feel like I've heard this stuff. Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
I'm just realizing now because somebody. You were on the confessionals, right?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Okay. So.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
So I was like, this thing's making up.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
No, no, no. There is so much lore, Kev, with, like, mushroom people inside of. I don't know how to phrase this. It's like Dungeons and Dragons lore. But. But so much of that, I don't think is. Is just made up. I think it's inspired lore. Somehow. People are perceiving a thing about reality that, like these fantasy realms, when they're talking about dwarves and elves and things like that, they're so complex and. And the lore is so rich that I struggle to believe that this is just inspired make believe from somebody's imagination. And then it's compounded upon by other people's, you know, input. Like, there's something going on here with this. I. I have heard experiences with mushroom people and, and it. And the way that it kind of. I mean, somebody in the. In the comments said it like, the Smurfs are. I don't know what they are. I don't know what the Smurfs are. Okay, dude. But there's, like, this tiny blue people. You talked about seeing everything in blue and, and this, like, mushroom aspect, mushroom aesthetic to everything they do. I mean, that's gotta. What do you feel about that when you see that? That lore mimicked?
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Yeah.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah. I mean, I. I feel. I feel like, like. Like a fake kind of thing or elemental kind of thing. And, like, we're living side by side, this realm. We just can't see it. And for whatever reason, it decided, if this is a real story, it just decided, hey, I'm gonna let this kid in and be like, dude, you don't need those glasses. Why are you wearing them? You know, kind of thing,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
man.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Do you think you ever needed those glasses? Or, like, what. How do you make sense of that?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
I. I honestly, I. I don't know. So what, what prompted the glasses to begin with was I was Having these severe migraines all the time. It probably didn't. Also didn't really help that my mom would just off the cuff, let's slap me in the back of the head. Just bam. All the time. But I digress. I had migraines constantly. I still do now, now, but, like, my vision's perfectly fine. But we went to, when we went to get it tested because my mom's like, well, you're having all these migraines. Maybe it has something to do with your eyes. So we go. And my, the doctor's like, yeah, you're, you know, your eyes need glasses. And when I can't remember what the. Because 2020. And I think it was like 2010 or 15 or something. Like, I can't remember at the time, one of my eye, my left eye was worse than my right eye. And so he wanted me to wear glasses. And he's like, you, you need to wear them. Especially when you're watching TV or you're reading or writing. He's like, you make sure you wear. So when, when we went back and he's like, you have 2020. He's like, probably still wear them when you watch TV and when you read and write. And then my mom's like, he doesn't need glasses. I'm not getting them. So I never wore glasses again after that.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
You know, that's so funny because I, I, they try to say, my son needs glasses. And I, I go like, I've never hear him struggle about being able to see, but he also will have, like, headaches and stuff occasionally. And then when we do get him the glasses, he doesn't wear them. So he's got them, but he just never wears them. And, and I don't know. I'm not a doctor. I'm a. But I go like, I don't know if you put, like, I'm looking at glasses, like putting a cast on something when they're really young, if their eyes are meant to continue, like, developing and strengthening these muscles and such, like, to put a, a pair of glasses is to then acclimate their development to this new apparatus on their face. And, and then they're going to forever go off developing that way. So, like, if he doesn't want to wear them and they just sit there and collect us, like, I'm not, so I'm not going to push him to wear them. And if he's not complaining about headaches and he, and he's never telling me he can't see stuff, then I'm not Going to recommend the glasses, but the doctors are like, yeah, dude, put the glasses on. I'm like, I don't know about all that. I think the doctors over prescribe stuff. But that's interesting though, because it seems like this little critter, this little mushroom dude, was maybe not so much healing your eyes because I recognize that's one way it could be interpreted, but maybe more so. Just saying, like, yeah, you dummy, you don't.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Need those. You, you don't have messed up eyes. You just got a spiritual disposition.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
Even smacked a bunch.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I had to. I had a concussion. So maybe that's why, you know. Yeah, dude, that's a question. Due to. From baseball and due from, from my mom.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So, yeah, concussions, you got CTE, dog. But like the. Yeah, that same thing might be the reason that you could perceive them at all.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
What.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
And your sister saw nothing, said nothing. Like, what about this moment? You know, did she recognize anything at all?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Did she remember. She remembers being in the woods. She remembers stepping on my glasses, but that's about it. And she's like, if I did see them, it wasn't significant to me, so I'm not going to remember it the same way that you did. She goes, but I broke your glasses. I broke Chris's glasses. I broke Ryan's glasses. I broke everybody's glasses because both my brothers wear glasses too, and they still wear glasses to this day. I'm the only one that doesn't. So. But yeah, my sister's just like, you know, you were standing there staring, and I was just like, what is wrong with him? So she doesn't recall if, if they did allow her to see them too. She doesn't remember it. So maybe. So like they talk about also aliens, like the Grays or whatever. They'll wipe your memory after they abduct you or. Yeah, or whatever, you know, and then through a lot like Benny and Barney, Betty and Barney Hill, you know, he started recall. They started recalling their abductions through regression therapy. And so like, they had their memories wiped to. So that they didn't recall this. And like, I, I don't remember this happening at all. I don't even remember the, the doctor's visit.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So check these guys out. I want. Because you said, can you put this on screen top the. You said, you specifically said they did not look like little people. They look like little mushrooms. Like, when you see. This is literally Dungeons and Dragons lore. Like, the first thing that I typed in, when I typed in mushroom people, it wanted to complete My sentence with DND as in Dungeons and Dragons. And, I mean, this is a fully fleshed out component to that. What is this? What these things look like?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yes, in a. In a sense, I would say they didn't look like they had feet. They did have little nubs. They didn't have hands, but they did have, like, something that was grabbing the. The little sticks. But they were just. It was just a stem, and they would. They were moving like. Like, just kind of like this.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Oh, that's so. Dude, that's so funny. Like, even to remember that detail.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Wait, I've got a freaking. An actual mushroom that my daughter made for me in. At school. So, like. Yeah, it's just. It looked like this with, like, two little nubs, one on each side, and then it just kind of walked like this.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's crazy, man. That's so. Hey, let me ask you any. Have you or anybody else in your family ever experienced, like, what you would categorize as alien abductions or alien interactions,
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
but not that I know of. If they have, they haven't told me. I do know my daughter was looking up at the ceiling one night when she was young, saying that there's a black cat on the ceiling. And it freaked me. Like, she was, like, deathly scared. She's looking up, going, the black cat's gonna get me. And that's, like, the only. Like, I could see that as being projected into her mind after she had been abducted or whatever. But I'm not saying that she was. But she doesn't remember it either. This. This particular thing. And she was just kind of like, I was moving her from the living room to her bedroom, and that's when she just kind of, like, woke up sort of, but not really awake. But other than that, as far as. I'm sorry, my grandfather doesn't believe in this. Oh, we're doing. It's happening again.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
You want me to do that refresh again?
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
If you want to refresh it, that's fine. But in the. In the future, I'll just be more careful not to step on. You go ahead and refresh it real
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
quick,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
because we were on his show, we. We had this discussion about generational iniquity. And before he goes into the next story, I just want to see what he says about that. Like, you know, past relatives, what they were. Might have, you know, been involved with or. Or anything like that. Okay, we got them back. There we go, Kev. Okay. Sorry about that. I was. I was stepping all over you because I get excited When I hear these things and then I can't stop interrupting. But before we go on to the next story, I want to ask you on the previous discussion that we had with you, we brought up the concept of generational iniquity, things that maybe past generations were involved in. What is that? You know, does that bring up anything in your mind when I say that?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Well, so I'm part native, so the ancestry there goes back to like the Algonquin, the Abenaki people, you know, the moon eyed people that they talked about. The, you know, they had weird experiences where people were coming from. Like they'd call them the star people or something like that. And they, they in a lot of, of the tribe that I descend from, a lot of their lore is lights or apparitional things. Like, so we got like the Spectre moose. He looks like this. He's like, supposedly he can be looked at as either a bad omen or a good omen, which it really doesn't make any sense because it just means that, you know, sometimes some people will have a bad experience after seeing it. Some people have a good experience. But he looks like a light, just as a moose, like a white. He looks like a ghostly moose that's portraying light. And then they have all these, they call them the ghost lights, where these, like. And I think that's where Stephen King got the langoliers from, where these like little balls just floating around everywhere. But they have, they have tons of stories. But from when I was doing, when I was looking into it, when I started trying to see what their stories were from my ancestors, nothing can't stuck out to me as like mushroom people or abductions. Unless you want to, unless you want to say like the orbs and the, the moon eyed people and star people probably were abduction, like alien stuff or, you know, a lot, a lot of religious people will just be like, that's just, those are just demons.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
There was a episode of Merkel's that I listened to where he had two shamans, shamans, you know, previous practitioners. And they, they said that a lot of the work they thought that they were doing was good work. And they had done sort of remote viewing or, or even like skin walking. This idea of like becoming something else and traveling to the underworld as some sort of an animal spirit. And then while they're being able to find fragmented aspects of people's spirits and returning them to them to heal people, seeing what they perceived as real results. So in other words, what I'm getting at is these people who are Practicing Native American spiritual, you know, methods think that they're doing a good thing. Later on, after they come out of it and they come to Christ, they realize that they were being deceived and that the work that they were doing was resulting in temporary healings that were actually giving access to the victims that they thought they were helping and even themselves over to different spiritual, you know, creatures, different spiritual entities. I think that the Native Americans were more than likely of the mind. In fact, almost guarantee they were of the mind, that they were doing good things and that they were in tune with nature and that they were in tune with these spirits and that the magic and the witch doctors and everything that they were practicing were necessary. It was. It was the natural way to heal the spirit. The spirit needed to be healed, and these spiritual practices needed to be done. And I think that given what I understand about generational iniquity now, oftentimes in our conversations it comes up Freemasonry, occult practices. But all of these things are a form of. Of paganism. So in my opinion, I don't think it's outlandish to say if you come from a line of Native Americans, their practices would fall under the exact same category that these other pagan practices, like, you know, Freemasonry or like, you know, various occult practices would fall under. So, yeah, man, I think that those. Those things that they're doing, they're giving access over to the spiritual realm, to their bloodline, you know, their bloodline being you, your siblings. You know, to me, it just makes sense.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
It does, yeah. It makes perfect sense. And I think they took. Because, you know, the tribals, tribes and even like the pagans and stuff like that. They. They used everything even like nat. Just natural remedies without ritual or whatever, and everything was from the earth because everything. We only need things that come from the earth. So I think that's where they. Where they thought they were. Right. You know what I mean? And I. I think in that aspect, possibly, you know, because now what do we. Now what do we have for modern medicine? We're just, you know, pumping ourselves full of chemicals that aren't here naturally. Yeah, but so I think they kind of, like, they wanted to. Like, I mean, it's already. They're already given access to these spirits, so they're like, well, let's say everything that they did was need. Needs to be modernized and. And more progressive. So, you know, because they're already doing this. This. This stuff and opening themselves up to that. And we don't want. We don't want that. So we're just gonna demonize or we're gonna say, I don't know. I don't know where I'm going with that, but I think it's like.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
It's like. So I think that. That God did give us everything that we need. Oh, we're having the thing again. Okay, do the. Do the little refresh. Man, we're getting messed up with this. I don't know if it's an Internet connection thing, but I think I know where Kev is going on this specifically. Can you hear me or are you going to refresh? Look at that. How long is that latency? That's crazy. Yeah, go ahead and do a refresh. There you go. Okay. Man, what a. What a ass whooping. We're taking from this. I don't even know if he did refresh or if we just totally lost him there, but I think what he's getting at is this idea of, like, throwing out all the practices of the natives or, you know, any of these, like, spiritual people. Oh, there we go. Let me see real quick. Toss you back on the stage.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
And boom.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Okay, There we go. So what you were saying before is this idea that. It sounds to me like you're describing throwing the baby out with the bathwater, right? So they have all these practices, and we end up demonizing a lot of it. I do think that God gave us everything that we need to, like, be healed. Not only obviously, spiritually through Christ, but, you know, the plants and the herbs that we have on the planet, they're certainly a lot better than the. The sort of. The pharmacia that we have now get you addicted to opioids or. Or what have you. So. But I think that's often what these things do, is they will show you the. A true thing about God's creation, and then they'll use it to slip in something else, which is oftentimes the worship and communion with them. But let's move on, because since we're having this latency issue, I want to try to let you tell your stories. I want to try to interrupt as little as possible, because if we're going to have to refresh every once in a while, no harm done. If you go off and you tell your story and then you have to refresh, that's not a big deal.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
So.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So let's get on to the next story that you have. Okay.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Okay. All right, man, I wish. I wish. I wish we could be fine. You know, the technology sucks sometimes. It's so great but then it sucks. This is why it's weird that we were able to, you know, connect with the people on the moon, but yet we can't get a signal right here on the surface of the earth. Anyways. Oh, another. So the. The next two stories happened when I was an adult, and they're. They also make me feel a little crazy, but. So they happened almost back to back within months of each other. It was 2016, 2015, 2016 area. And I'm driving home, it's broad daylight, and I see this coyote walk across the road. And so I stop and it's. And it stops. It's right on the yellow line. And it turns its head, stares right at me, right into my soul. And I'm just like, this is really weird. I was like. And that coyote looks clean and well fed, like it could be somebody's dog, but it's a coyote. And it stares at me for a good long moment and then just kind of trots off into the woods. And so I drive up to where it went into the woods and I'm staring at it and it gets a little bit further and then it stops and it turns and stares at me. And I was just like, what is wrong with this coyote? And he's staring at me directly into my eyeballs. And I was like, this is. This is really freaking weird. And it's almost like he was like, waiting for me to leave be. For him to continue on. And. He's just like. He's like, well, all right, you're gonna see some. And he turns around, he starts walking, and there's this little embankment kind of comes up a little bit, and there's this big pine tree sitting right there. And he's walking up towards the pine tree. And then right beyond the pine tree, it's a big dip and it starts going down towards some water. And he kind of like the way he did it. Like, you know, a coyote would just went. Leaped over it like it's front paws first. And it put the. I swear, I mean, who knows? Maybe I was. I. Maybe I took some freaking LSD or something and not knowingly, but this freaking thing lifted its paw and put it on the pine tree and it turned into a human hand and grabbed a hold of the pine tree. And then it brought its hind legs up to go over this hump to go down the embankment. So it was what. The whole, like, act of it was unnatural because like I said, a normal coyote would have just been like. Like that and leaped right over it and wouldn't have used the tree to bring its hind legs up and over. So that was weird. And I, I, I was like, oh my God. And I just stepped on the gas pedal and my house was like right there. And I would come whipping into the driveway and I run inside and I tell my, my ex wife's doing the dishes at the time. And I'm like. I was like, you will never guess what I just saw. She's like, what? And I was like, coyote crossing the street. She's like, in broad daylight? And I go, yeah. I was like, but the weirdest thing is its hand turned into a human's hand. And she's like, you're crazy. I was like, oh, yeah, maybe I could be that. Could be that. So wait, that, okay, so that one's weird.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
First off, let's check the, the, the latency. Is it super bad? Can you hear me right now?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
I can hear you.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Okay, we're getting brutalized with the, with the Internet connection, but yeah. This was during the daytime you said.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, broad daylight. It was like three, two or three o' clock in the afternoon.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
That's crazy. So, so you're saying that you saw this thing shift? What was a paw becomes a hand. I mean, this sounds like, this sounds like what we were just talking about, right? The, the Native American lore of the skinwalker. When people say skinwalker, they, they automatically think of this sort of gangly, white, creepy thing that's kind of been conflated with, I think, what would be more so a rake. A skinwalker is this idea that a Native American shaman can take the form of an animal to a different level, right? Where some seem to be maybe appearing as an animal, when in reality they're not. So the person who perceives it maybe is hallucinating or there's some sort of a spiritual filter over the situation and what other people might perceive as a man, the individual is perceiving as an animal. And then there is this ability to, let's say, remote control an animal where the skinwalker is still located somewhere else, but they've gone through the ritual and the ceremony, and they are now almost piloting an animal, taking over its consciousness for a time. And then there's this other layer where it seems that through some of the lore you can actually transmutate these, these people are putting on these skins, going through the process, and there is an actual physical transformation. When you're describing watching something's paw turn into a hand and pull itself up, well, two things stand out to me. One is that you Know, this seems to be less of a hallucination and more of like the transformation kind. And two, it's like, why. Why would it let you see that a coyote like you already laid out is perfectly capable of just hopping up with its front legs and going on about its business. This thing, like, locks eyes with you, stands in the middle of the road and then goes like, I'm gonna show you some.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Yeah, I. The. The point doesn't make any sense. Unless. No. And then there is no unless. I have no idea what the point of that would. Would be. Unless it's ancestral, like, it knows it can smell my blood. Be like, oh, this. You know, he might be one of me. You know, he might be like. Like me or something like that. Maybe. You know, it's. I've struggled with what would be the point of it allowing me to see that for a long time. Which is what also makes me think that I'm just a crazy person. And half of my experiences never really happen, and I just think that they did.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Well, okay, so I wanna. I. You know, obviously we're having the. The latency issues, and so for the. The sake of. Of time and the flow of the conversation, I want to let you go into this. It sounded like you had one last story, and I hate to. To put a cap on it. It's just like we're getting brutalized out here with the Internet connection. So let's go into this last story and. And I'm gonna let you speak, and so don't worry about the. The latency or anything like that. And when you're done, you know, just give it a good 10 seconds before you hear my voice again.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Great. All right, so this story happened shortly after that one. Me and my ex wife, we split. We went our separate ways. It's just me and the dogs in the house. At this particular. On this particular night, we share custody of our kids. Kids are more important than our dislike for each other, so I'm just gonna say that. But anyways, it's. It's probably pretty close to midnight, and I have two dogs. One of them I still have, and she's. She's an old lady now, but at this time. So I wake up to the dogs barking, and I'm yelling at them to shut up. Like, shut up. And I try to go back to sleep, but they won't stop barking. And they're clawing at the wall underneath the window. So I'm like, what the. What are. What's outside? So I get up and I look out the window. And there's a little field. So there's a little bit of, like, trees and a rock wall that separate my property from the farm next door. And. But it's like the. The. The trees are thinned out enough. It's not, like, a good expansion. So I could see through the little bit of trees into the field, and I could see the sack. I covered, like, four, maybe five. And they're just running from the woods behind the house to the road, and then back and forth. And, you know, the moon is out fairly bright, and I'm just like, what the hell are these guys doing? And I look at my dogs. I'm like, coyotes are out here all the time. You guys hear these things all the time. Why is tonight so freaking different? And so I kind of, like, settle them down for a little bit. And then in the window, I see this little coyote coming down my driveway, and it looks like it's limping. And I'm like, oh. And so I go from my bedroom to the front door, and I'm watching it through the window of my front door. And then I turn the outside light on, and it stops right at the light, the cusp of the light. So it's like. It's kind of. You can see it from in the light, but it's standing just enough to where it's shadowy. And it's just kind of, like, sitting there, and I'm just like, this thing's really hurt. I was like, maybe I should. And I grab a hole, and my dogs are sitting there. Kind of like, yeah, let's go outside. Let's go outside. Let's go outside. And I start turning the knob, and I just, like. I kind of, like, push my face up against the window to. To see where the rest of the coyotes are. Because I don't want to get, like, ambushed or something like that. And as I do that, there's this big, hulking black figure standing against this rock wall that separates the property. And this boulder is. Stands about like,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
oh, my God. Oh, bro, the suspense. What the hell? Okay, we. I gotta get him to refresh and come back in. Sorry, guys. For everybody who's listening. And it just sometimes, like this so weird, because we did a show with this guy, and it was none of this.
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
It happens sometimes.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
And then all of a sudden, we just get blapped up. He got abducted. Says atma. Oh, my goodness. Damn it. Gotta get him back in here. Hold on a second. Give it some time.
Orderly Meds Announcer
Okay.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Does he popped out?
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
No.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
So crazy. Yeah.
Orderly Meds Announcer
You.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Oh, okay. He just popped it again. Okay. Okay. So the last thing you said, something was standing next to a boulder. You were about to tell us how. How tall the boulder is, I think.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
So it was a little bit taller than me. I'm 5 10, so I'm assuming that the boulder was roughly 6ft. So whatever this thing was, it was standing behind it, and it was just a little bit taller than that. And it was red, glowing eyes. And I immediate felt. Immediately felt that, you know, overwhelming fear, feeling of dread where I thought I was gonna die. And so I let go of the doorknob. That's what. That's. That's exactly what I think was happening. And I shut the light off. I shut the outside light off, and then I locked the door. And that coyote that came limping down my driveway turn just kind of, like, stood up and then turned around and ran out of my driveway and went back over to the field with the other ones. Totally fine, not limping or anything. And I look back, and I still see those eyes. And then I run, and I go get my rifle, and I load it, and I chamber around. And then I sit on my couch and my dog. Literally, as soon as I saw. As soon as I felt those feelings, my. It was like my dogs shut up. I don't know if they were still barking at this moment, but I didn't hear them for the rest of the time. And then they got onto the couch with me, and they. One of them on each side of me, and I held my gun like that until I fell asleep. And I'm, like, expecting whatever this thing was to come slant. Come crashing through one of my windows. And I was gonna have to load. Unload my rifle into it. And my dogs, they just made sure they were up against me. They never left me that whole entire night. And I woke up the next morning, wicked kink in my neck. And I was still afraid to go outside in the light.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
You.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
I was just, like. I was looking out. I ended up calling out of. Oh, no. I was late for work. And I wanted to call out, but I was like, I really need to go to work. And I remember going through. Going to all the windows to make sure that whatever this thing was, there was nothing outside before I left. And that was probably the most terrifying experiences I ever had.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Damn, dude. How long ago was this? And. And, yeah, how many years ago was this?
Co-host 1 (possibly a producer or secondary host)
It's like. It's like doing a podcast on all.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
It was about 10 years ago. I think it was, like, 20. It was the fall of 2016,
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
fall of 2016. Damn, dude, that's crazy. I would have, I would have moved out of Appalachia.
Kevin from Where the Weird Ones Are
Missing that dial tone.
David Lee Corbo (aka the Raven, primary host)
Well, listen, listen, this is going to be really hard to do because of this latency. We got to bring this in for a landing because this is. We just can't go on like this anymore. But these stories are fantastic, Kevin. Guest: Kevin Sapiel ("Where the Weird Ones Are" podcast)
Date: July 2, 2026
This episode of NDS Chronicles features Kevin Sapiel, host of "Where the Weird Ones Are," as he recounts a lifetime of inexplicable and supernatural experiences—ranging from shadow people and mushroom entities to a chilling encounter with a shape-shifting coyote. Hosts David Lee Corbo ("the Raven") and TopLobsta guide a candid, sometimes humorous, always unfiltered Christian and conspiratorial exploration of generational spiritual iniquity, trauma, and the thin line between the supernatural and the psychological. The episode also touches on the unique folklore and energies of Appalachia, personal healing journeys, and how spiritual realities may intersect with trauma and faith.
[03:49–09:06]
"We are terrible people. So oftentimes we do a really bad job of [sharing testimony]... But people's stories about the supernatural, I find are a great thing to help other people in their walk."
—David Lee Corbo, [09:06]
[10:29–21:24]
"I started seeing figure after that. It was just... shadow person after shadow person for the rest of my life."
—Kevin, [19:22]
"I do believe that these things feed off of low vibrational energy... maybe there is something to be said about changing the energy you're putting off by doing something as simple as, as singing a happy tune."
—David Lee Corbo, [21:24]
[22:57–29:30]
"These are the things that open up a lot of... I don't know how to put it, I want to say portals. But like, these things get access to you through trauma."
—David Lee Corbo, [26:20]
[31:27–34:56]
"Everything leads back to God. You know, you got alien encounters, shadow people, ghosts, cryptids... in the name of Jesus, I rebuke you... doesn't matter what it is across the board... they stop and they listen."
—Kevin, [32:00]
[35:38–46:03]
"He goes, 'Hey, be patient.' I'm like, about what? He’s like, 'You’ll know.'... Was that my uncle kind of thing?"
—Kevin, [38:22]
[46:05–59:31]
"On the other side of the creek is this little village of mushroom people... They don’t have faces, eyes, nothing... one on my shoulder, telepathically, said, 'You don’t need those glasses.'"
—Kevin, [52:59]
"So much of that [fantasy] lore... I think is inspired lore. Somehow, people are perceiving a thing about reality."
—David Lee Corbo, [54:17]
[62:29–73:04]
"I think that those... practices... they’re giving access over to the spiritual realm, to their bloodline, you know, their bloodline being you, your siblings."
—David Lee Corbo, [68:10]
[73:11–80:39]
"This freaking thing lifted its paw and put it on the pine tree and it turned into a human hand... The act of it was unnatural."
—Kevin, [75:33]
[80:39–86:51]
"There was this big, hulking black figure standing against this rock wall... it was just a little bit taller [than a 6ft boulder]... and red, glowing eyes. I immediately felt... dread where I thought I was gonna die."
—Kevin, [84:39–86:23]

Despite ongoing technical issues and latency struggles, the episode delivers a rich tapestry of Appalachian supernatural lore, honest grappling with the origins of trauma, and a strong supernatural Christian perspective on generational iniquity. Kevin's stories challenge listeners to consider the overlap between psychology and spiritual reality, underscoring the importance of faith, the power of testimony, and a vigilant curiosity about the unseen world.
Stay curious. Stay dangerous.
