Was that your knowledge? Top Lobster Productions.
David
Saying is that there's a big difference between if God puts something in you, that's a decision maker and he twists it a certain way.
Matt
I like how we were picking up the episode like right off of the Ed Mabry episode on Friday.
David
Right?
Matt
Like we never left.
David
We've been there, we've been talking about it the whole time since. I'm just saying, yeah, my take. Which doesn't mean I'm right. Everybody else is wrong. I don't. I never really like struggled with this concept, but I know people do. God puts a decision maker inside you, you're born with a decision maker, right?
Matt
Right.
David
He knows what you will do with that decision maker. That, that doesn't in any way inhibit free will. The Bible talks, speaks of it as like the foreknowledge of God. He knows what you'll do with it. So to me, like, like, again, maybe this is hard for some people. It's not super hard for me because I just understand thing like a kid would understand it. If he puts a decision maker inside you and he twists it three times to the right so that it makes certain decisions, then, then that wouldn't be free will. I'm saying he doesn't do that. I'm saying he puts a decision maker inside of you that's capable of making all the decisions throughout all of human life. And he knows what you'll do with that decision maker. But, but I'm not saying he doesn't put like certain blockers like we were talking about. Like, he put certain blocks in my life to say, I know what you're going to do with that decision maker.
Matt
You absolutely can't do that.
David
And if you keep doing gonna. He put certain boundaries on my life.
Matt
My plan for you won't work if you keep doing that. Some people still do those things though, somehow.
David
Yeah, yeah. I don't know. Like I, like I was saying, like in my life, I feel like, yeah, he let me out of, out of a hundred. He's like, bro, I'll let you f this up to 99, but this one, like, I'm not gonna let you kill yourself.
Matt
Right.
David
Feel like there was some. He put some boundaries in place for that. He put some boundaries in place so I didn't ruin it with Jessica, which, which in all the natural realm it looked like that was definitely going to, to be destroyed. Like, you know, Jess says some profound stuff, dude. Like one time this chick asked her, they were just asking about our life because we had like when the kids were real little and they were like, wow, you guys had it terrible. Like how? Like so. And Jess was saying, yeah, like, God restored our marriage, God restored our life. God restored our relationship with each other, with our kids, with Jess was saying, you know, with my family, with Matt's in laws. And the lady said, well, how do you know this wasn't just positive thought? Like, how do you know it wasn't just. You guys changed it and positive affirmations. Yeah. And Jess laughed and said, oh, no, no, you don't understand. It was impossible. That's what she said.
Matt
She just says stuff like that.
David
Sometimes. And I was like. I was fishing. We were on a dock, and I remember looking back at her and I was like, she's right, dude. It was an impossible situation. I was just like casting and reeling. I just looked back at her. I was like, damn, she's right, dude. Like it like that. Like, to her, that's how she knows
Matt
it was God beyond all logic.
David
Yeah, it was an impossible situation to get resolved. There's a lot of details we can't go into. I'm just saying it was an impossible situation to get resolved and it got resolved. So I'm not saying he doesn't put boundaries and borders in place, but he gives you a decision maker that you're capable of making decisions with. And my take is that it's. He knows what you'll do with that decision maker. That's all.
Matt
Matt likes the idea of time travel. This is. This, like, all goes back. What were you saying about it? Anchovy apostle.
David
The home anchovy apostle.
Matt
Shout out anchovies.
David
Let's read it because I don't want to screw it up. It was on. It was in the patre on and.
Matt
Oh, shout out Stephen in the chat. We have royalty in the chat.
David
What's up, bro?
Matt
Let's go. He says, and then.
David
Where was that? Dude, I'm not really super good at looking at the stuff on. How do I pull up the one with Ed the other day? Can you pull up the one, the straight Bible one with Ed? Yeah, from Friday.
Matt
Okay. It's. It's under. Under there.
David
Under where? Under there.
Matt
That's where. That's where he posted it.
David
Yeah. I think there's just like one comment.
Matt
Okay. Yeah, let me see if I can read that. No, no comments there. Maybe another place. I'll find it and then we'll see what he said.
David
No. Was it on the Ed post?
Matt
Nah.
David
Yes, it was.
Matt
No, there's nothing on the Ed post.
David
Give me that back then.
Matt
Oh, wait up. Here it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love Ed Mabry. But let's do a thought experiment.
David
There's no need to put a but in there. Love Ed Mabry.
Matt
And whenever it says but, I go, oh, no, no, no.
David
Do it. Because I don't know the Ed saying anything different. I don't. You know what I mean? People have free will. I invent a time machine and go a week into the future. I now know what a certain person is going to do. I return to my original time and don't interfere with that person in any way. I still know what they're going to do despite the fact they have free will. God exists outside of time. Far better than a time machine. Like, yeah, that's a. That's a. That's my same view. I did have a great way of putting it.
Matt
I did have that issue of when he said that, like, things are playing out and God is watching it play out. But like, yeah, it's to my understanding, things have already played out. God exists at the end, in the beginning, in the middle, and he's kind of floating over the time and.
David
But he's letting the people do what they do. Like, Ed made a great point. He's like, you can look at the book of Revelation and know that, like, future prophecy is going to happen. These things are going to happen. Like, all those things are going to happen. The only thing that's up for grabs is what's our part of it.
Matt
Right, right.
David
Because if you don't do it. Next guy up next shooter. Such a hard topic, but there's also this. There's also like some of the homies a few years ago wanted to argue about predestination and stuff. And so I. So I. It was when Isaac worked here. It was Isaac. And I can't remember who else was here. Keaton. I think it was Keaton and Isaac. And so we were arguing about it. They were in the back. So I took a 20 out of the drawer and I dropped it on the floor. And then. And I just kind of posted up. And then Isaac came by. He goes, oh, dude, I can't. There's a. Matt, look at this 20. And I was like, bro, did I make you do that? And he was like, what do you mean?
Matt
Kinda?
David
What do you mean? I said, did I, Did I force you to do that against your will? He goes, no.
Matt
What?
David
He goes, did you, did you put the 20 there?
Matt
Can I keep it, though?
David
I was like, yeah, yeah. So I'm not saying, like, God doesn't do that. Sure he does that. But. But he doesn't like, alter. He puts a decision maker inside you and lets you make decisions. That's. That's my take on it. That's my take on it.
Matt
As a professional troll, though, myself, there is something to that where, like I wind somebody up and I watch them go.
David
And I don't know exactly. We know, Trust me. Yeah.
Matt
I don't know exactly what they're going to do, but I know that they're going to go in a direction, most likely somewhere I want them to go.
David
Yeah. So multiply that times a billion yeah, times a trillion. Like that's.
Matt
Is that. But then is that too much? Is that a technicality? Is that like a love? That's a level of manipulation in a way. Or is that just like manipulation just
David
carries like a lot of. That's package.
Matt
But like, I mean, as a professional manipulator, you really are.
David
You really are. Okay, watch this. Watch this. In, in 1 Peter, chapter 1, verse 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ to the strangers scattered throughout Pontius, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father. That's all he says you're elect according to the foreknowledge of God. God knew ahead of time.
Matt
Well, let's look up that word foreknowledge.
David
Pull it up.
Matt
Let's see what, see what they mean to the foreknowledge prognosis.
David
Interesting. What's the prognosis?
Matt
Foreknowledge for the forethought. Prearrangement.
David
Pre arrangement. Makes it seem a little.
Matt
That is crazy.
David
Okay, okay, but here's an example. Let's look for an example. Right on. Straight Bible. We never just do like a one off. We try to look for an example of it in the scripture. This is the one. I think I brought it up to Ed in the show. Yeah, well, he initially brought the passage
Matt
up and then I said Judith, nine, six.
David
Who's Judith?
Matt
I don't know. Look here, they're, they're quoting, it looks like extra biblical text here. Judith 9, 6 and Judith 11, 19.
David
Well, if that's Greek literature, because they'll. Yeah, Herodian, like they'll quote Socrates, Plato. Yeah, they're saying like this Greek word is used in this way. In another, you know, another Greek literature. This is Genesis 18. Starting in verse 17, the Lord said, shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do, seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation. So in the future he will become a great and mighty nation. And all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him. For I know him. I know him that he will. That's in the future. That he will command his children and his household after him. And they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgment that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him. So that's how I read that is God in the foreknowledge of God. He knew Abraham and knew what decisions he'd make, even including being willing to sacrifice his son and his son being willing to Be sacrificed. He. Because think about that, dude. He's. He. Ra. Abraham raises up Isaac in such a way that he's willing to offer himself as a sacrifice. Yeah. Isaac isn't going kicking and screaming. He knows what's going on.
Matt
Yeah. Acts 20. Acts 2. 22 also, or 23. Ye men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth. Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know him being delivered by the determinant counsel and foreknowledge of God. Ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.
David
Amen. The cross was always going to happen. That's it. Yeah. By the foreknowledge of God.
Matt
The determinant council. That's interesting.
David
So it's like, that had to happen now what? Everybody's part was in it. Who knows?
Matt
What you got of cool coins in the tip jar?
David
Okay, give me them.
Host
They're like.
David
You're gonna. Like, you're desperate to be on the show. Just go ahead. Okay. These aren't like that cool. It's like pesos.
Matt
Say hi, Mason.
David
This is just foreign coins. Okay? Say hi to everybody. We know that's what you want to do.
Matt
Break the door first.
David
Don't break the door again. No, we have no idea. Relax. Wreck it, Ralph. Relax. Say hi to everybody. Okay, There we go. She got. She got her attention today. Everybody's good.
Matt
No, Mike, stop it. You're gonna break the camera. All right? Get out of here.
David
Okay. Thank you for this butterfly.
Matt
Bye, Mason.
David
What? Okay, stop.
Matt
So you're welcome for the coins. Instead of stealing them all. Him being delivered by the determinant council. Are they talking about the council of the Jews, or is this like a heavenly council of God? It says, and the foreknowledge of God.
David
It's probably talking about the Godhead and. And everything in that kingdom that's working together for that. I mean, remember, there was a lot going on. Moses and Elijah show up to talk to him about the cross is going to happen, right? There's a passage where it says, like, yeah, this had to happen, but woe unto him to whom He. To whom betrayed him. It's saying, like, so you have. You have predestination and free will all wrapped up in the same verse where it's saying that, like, this had to happen. But woe unto Judas for being the one to betray him.
Matt
Could have been. Could have been any. Any of the other 12.
David
Somebody's gonna. Dude, could have been anybody story could have played out anyway, dude. Yeah, it had to be part of the 12 because the prophecies ahead of time said that.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
But who knows? Again, like God is setting up the timeline. Like he's putting Judas here, he's putting Pharaoh here. Like a lot of people get hung up with, with Pharaoh because of Romans 9, right? But like Pharaoh was the like the craziest, most hardcore, proud, non repenting human. This is my take that ever existed. God's like, if I took a real normal jerk, he would still, he would still repent after like the first sign. Moses, right? Take, take like the meanest of guys, like the most meanest dude. Three or four. Finally they repent. Pharaoh 10 plagues. Dude, he, he's never going to repent. God says, this guy's perfect. I'll put him in the timeline right here. Perfect.
Matt
This is God like hardened his heart or something like that. Or just.
David
Yeah, that's. That's loaded too though, because in the beginning, Pharaoh hardens his own heart. And it's almost like God says, okay, you wouldn't want to play the hard heart game. Let's go. And hard heart always has to do with understanding. Where is that? In John 12 or John. Hold on. What? We're jumping around a little bit because there was one passage I was just looking up before that. What were we looking up? Can you look up the passage? Woe unto him who betrays the son of man. I don't. It was not going to pop up exactly like that in blue letter Bible, but maybe if you just Google it. And then what was the one that I was just talking about? I was talking about. The hard heart. What was I talking about? The hard heart.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
Okay, you look up that one. Yeah. So though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him. I'm in John 12:37, that the saying of Isaiah, the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? Into whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not believe because that Isaiah said again, he hath blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. So the hard heart has to do with being able to understand and not being able to understand.
Matt
Right, right. It's. Yeah, like right in front of you. So we're talking like a soul as well. Yeah, but then is that. So that's like a. That's like a condition that's Kind of not given to you by God, but, like, grown. Well, it's both.
David
You can. You can give yourself a hard heart. Like, the more you keep rejecting, you can give yourself a hard heart. And when. If you start to play that game with God, God says, okay, let's keep rolling that ball.
Matt
Like, he takes. It takes his hand of protection off of you, and it's like, all right, if that's what you want, we'll just do that. You're gonna take that. Matthew 26:24. The son of man goeth as it is written of him, but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is.
David
That's what I'm saying. So you have it all wrapped up. Yeah, it'd be better for him to never be born.
Matt
So you have.
David
You have predestination and free will all wrapped up in one verse. Like that's gonna happen, but what's your part in it? The Son of Man goes as is written to him. He's gonna. He's gonna go to the cross and he's gonna be resurrected. But woe unto him.
Matt
This is like what we talk about with the Jews. Well, what you. You kind of, like, brought to my attention was like, yeah, that. All that stuff's gonna happen to them, like, as. As is written. But I'm not gonna play a part in the persecution if I don't have to, like. Right. I'm not gonna have any of that blood on my hands. Yeah. Their. Their future is written, unfortunately. Unfortunately for them. But I don't have to do it.
David
And it. Well, yeah, and now it just seems eerily similar to when people lose their mind about the Democrats. It just seems very similar, you know?
Matt
Right, so you're seeing a pattern.
David
Yeah, it's the same pattern which, like, conspiracy theorists, you know, in general don't. Don't fall for. Right. But it's like, well, they're not falling for these ones, but could potentially fall for this one.
Matt
Well, they're seeing the pattern recognition of the Jews behavior right now.
David
Yeah.
Matt
But they're not seeing the pattern recognition of, like, that timeline playing out.
David
And let's not deny that. Right. Like, let's not deny that what they're seeing is accurate. Let's not deny. I'm not. I'm not trying to take anything away from that. People are doing great research to find out the Jews did this, the Jews did that. No problem. No problem. But let's just. I'm not even saying put it in reverse. I'm just saying let's pump the Brakes. I'm not even saying stop. I'm just saying, like, let's pump the brakes and let's take this all in for a minute and see where. What this leads to and where this goes.
Matt
That scripture right there actually might be, like, the perfect thing to say to. And people won't. They don't. They're not going to want to hear that. But it's like, yeah, that's gonna happen. I understand, like, your frustration with the whole thing, but woe unto you if you take part in that. Don't take part in that. You don't have to. But for sure, like, they're. They're getting what's coming to them.
David
Right? I mean, if you hate the Democrats, do you have to go and go to the rallies?
Matt
No, you don't go to January 6th. You don't do that.
David
That's what I'm saying. So, like, let's not fall for it in regards to this. Not. Not that the insight is inaccurate, not that the fact finding isn't good. That's good. It's just what now, right? You talk about, like, the action, revelation, interpretation, application, like it's being revealed to people the Jews are bad. Got it, Got it. Now, what's your interpretation of that? And then, most importantly then, what's your application to that? Let's not be the dog chasing the car. We were on mushrooms one time driving up to man.
Matt
But doesn't it just make sense that, like, the Jews would play out as this extreme example of free will and God's predetermined destination of what's happens? Like, sure, it's. It's almost the biggest level of. Well, not. I mean, Jesus would be. But, like, right now, we're. That's biblical, what we're living through. That's crazy, man.
David
Yeah, yeah. So we were tripping on mushrooms, man. My boy Tuan Tran was driving. Dude, I missed one, too, man. But we were. I think it was me, him, Adam Meyer, and Armando driving up to Morgan territory, which you'd only know if you're in Livermore. How rad of a spot that is. But there was a dog that would always chase your car. And it was a terrifying dog, too.
Matt
Yeah.
David
And so, like, we're just tripping on mushrooms just driving up there. And Tuan just, like, slowed down. He's like, let's see what happens. We're in the car, like, no, no, don't stop. So, like, we come to a stop, dude. We're all tripping, dude. And the dog is just, like, caught up to the car now. Right. And it just like walks around the car. I don't even think it like bit the tires or anything. And then it just kind of like jogged back to its house. That's all I'm saying is like follow your logic through like what? Okay, the Jews are bad. Got it. But let's follow this logic all the way through. What now? What next?
Matt
Show them from kingdom in context. Said scriptures should say pump your brakes instead of Salah. Yeah, that'll be in the. The new matte version. Oh, we have, we have another question here which is interesting. We didn't address it. Bohemian Grove. Grove is in Wild. Wildwood, Florida, next to the villages. How can I go? It's almost exactly a month away. We have like all of our. I'm getting all of our stuff ready for. We're really.
David
Okay, but the answer to the question is go to the website and get the tickets, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's all you gotta do.
Matt
Go to toplopsa.com it'll tell you what
David
the local hotels are.
Matt
Yeah, all the information is there. It's eight.
David
Eight.
Matt
It's going to be an all day affair.
David
Come hang with us at the VIP on the Friday. You can come chill at the shop on the Friday before 4:00. Anyway, we'll have regular hours if you want to just come in the coffee shop and hang.
Matt
Yeah. Or even earlier that week. We'll be around all week, so come make a little vacation out of it. But yeah, come hang out. It's going to be a good time. We all of our guests are already like, we have our tickets, we have our hotels, everyone's coming, special guests going to be here. It's going to be really cool, really fun time. Don't miss this one. Anyway, what are we on?
David
Did we even start the first question?
Matt
No, you just started the show. Talking about whatever you wanted to talk about.
David
Whatever come in and you were here and ready to do the show. So we just started talking, man.
Matt
All right, we have a question from Kenny.
David
Speaking of. Hey, Top, any update on straight Bible T shirts? Yeah, you just order them.
Matt
They're on toplopsa.com as well.
David
Yeah, you just get them and then they just go to your house.
Matt
I guess I'll show you guys again. I mean, we're walking.
David
Wait, is he just saying it took a long time to get them?
Matt
No, he's saying how do we order them? You go to Top lobster dot com. Here we go. And then you click on the standard logo, that one right there. And Boom.
David
It's cool, man.
Matt
Yeah, there you go.
David
Where. There's the straight Bible.
Matt
One straight Bible and a couple other ones from some studies that we did. We did the book of Elijah, we did the Elijah story study and we did the book of Daniel. It should be its own book. Yeah, so I have some of those, but yeah, go over there. Go buy that stuff if you want to. Don't feel, you know, don't feel pressured. Anyway, first question from Kenny the Fed. Are we expected to know the season?
David
He's just saying his has been on order for two weeks. That's. I'm not gonna keep reading the chat. That's all. I understand. Yeah, I think it takes more than two weeks.
Matt
Yeah, it'll take some time. Don't worry about it.
David
We don't, we don't. Do they know that they ship from the factory?
Matt
Well, yeah, I have a manufacturer somewhere. I feel like I explained it.
David
Yeah, but not just split is new.
Matt
I think I got a manufacturer somewhere else. Not here. I do this for my like big dog hands on business. So that kind of, you know, it'll. It'll get to you. He'll. He'll mail it out, everybody.
David
Valid point.
Matt
Okay. Are we expected to know the season of Christ's return? Are we in that season? Oh, geez, Kenny, the Fed, that's a big question. And he's going to tell you something like, I don't know.
David
I am going to say I don't know. We. Are we expected to understand the season? Yeah. No man knows the date.
Matt
Know the season.
David
But we should be looking at this, at the signs and being aware. Okay, it's close. But is Jesus, especially In the Matthew 24 passage, very mysterious in his way where he words it and it kind of. It own. This is my take. It kind of looks like that's not necessarily peculiar to any time period.
Matt
Very much like when you're gonna get a top lobster shirt. No man knows the day.
David
Yeah, but. So, so that's. But that's why every generation looks at their generation and says, the return of Christ is soon, man. It's right here. And they can say A, B, C, D, E all the way to Z of why this is the generation, why it's going to happen. But every generation does that. I think even Paul in his letters, it's it. You almost get the feeling he's writing in such a way that it could happen any day. But that's what. But that's what Jesus tells us is be ready. Be ready in all time periods, in all geographic Locations. Because it is coming soon, no matter what. Now we just have to define soon. It's relative, but it's coming soon. Yeah.
Matt
Okay. All right. That's a fairly simple question. Well, easy answer.
David
I mean, it is what it is. There's not. I don't know. I know there's plenty of people who can prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that we are not in that day, that certain things have not happened that have to happen before the return. And then there's equally as many people who can prove beyond the shadow of a doubt by the scripture that it is that day, and it's close. It's going to happen any day now. And so there's a lot of that. There's a lot of that right in the body of Christ. There's a lot of, like, you take a topic, and somebody believes this, and somebody believes this, and they both can prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that they're right, even though they're saying opposite things. That, like, observing that for years is what brought me to the place to finally say where I. Where I was, like, thought I was right about all the things until I finally got to a place where I was like, you know what? I don't know. I don't know, man. God's pretty mysterious, the way he unfolds stuff. The whole. The whole life of Jesus, especially. The more I read that, I'm like, there was nobody in the crowd who knew exactly what was happening.
Matt
No way.
David
There was little hints of it, like Anna or Simeon. They're in the temple and they see the baby and they know he's the one. There's little hints, but those are, like, so few and far between, dude. In the story, people are so. John the Baptist is confused. The. The 12 disciples are so confused. Like, everybody's so confused about it. So I don't know. I think I finally got to a place where I'm like, I don't know, man. I. I don't know how this goes.
Matt
Well, I will say. I mean, I said it before, but my parents would say, yeah, we're living in the end times. Like when I was a kid and this is before cell phones, you know, or even, like, in general. And I'm like, now that we have this Internet and we have cell phones, we're talking about, like, the fast transfer of information, a lot of the prophecy and revelation where, like, when Jesus comes, everyone's gonna see him at the same time.
David
Right, Right. That's why we could look at it today and say, look, dude, this is the first time in history. But when the TV came out, they said that, they said, look, it's the first time in history that everybody on the planet could see it at the same time.
Matt
Yeah, but then you think about how the TV worked. It was like every. The families. So Jesus is going to come at like 6pm when the family's home and everyone's eating dinner with the TV on.
David
I know it's like, oh, yeah, everybody can tell it's got an Internet. But what about people in jungles? They still can't. You know what I mean? I'm just saying that each generation can say, this is why this is this new thing and this is why it's going to happen in this generation. Every generation does that.
Matt
Yeah, yeah. I'm just saying it's a little more possible now.
David
Amen. Every day we go, it's a little more possible. But Jesus emphasis is on being ready.
Matt
Be ready, Kenny. Don't be playing around. G by Jonathan says, you say every human is born into sin. By that, do you mean we're born into a sinful world or born with a sin placed upon us? And what would that sin be?
David
Yeah, all of the above. Well, sin nature, not sins plural. I draw a distinction. I think the Bible draws a distinction between sins plural. Like your Jesus says, if you look, if you look upon a woman to lust, you've committed adultery in your heart. Like, that's a. That's like a sins plural, right?
Matt
Yeah.
David
Sin nature is what we're born into. We're not. We're not justified and righteous before God until we're born again. Right. There's no way to the Father but by Jesus Christ. So we must be made righteous in his eyes to. To open that relationship. We must be born again to see the kingdom of God. But didn't we. I thought we just unpacked this on the last show.
Matt
Yeah, you were reading the story about David when his son dies.
David
Well, there's that too.
Matt
Right.
David
But no, I thought we were dealing specifically with, like, would it have been Romans 5? Do we. What did we. Where it talks about that, that by Adam that sin passed on to all of us.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Wherefore as one man, sin entered into the world and death by sin. So death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. That. That's. That's what I would call that sin nature that passed on to all of us. So, yeah, that's my take is we're born into a sinful world. Ed was breaking it down the other day that we battle the world, the flesh, and the devil. Yeah. Amen. Let's read the rest of the question, though. And then we can't forget Panda's question because Panda has been asking for, like, a while.
Matt
Oh, I hope she asked the same question, because what was the rest of Cheap Eyes? Yeah, so. Or do you mean, so he's saying, are the sins placed upon us? Or do you mean we are born with a curse placed upon us?
David
That's a fair statement as well. Yeah, yeah, but that's really what the curse is, right? We're born under that sin nature, like Adam sins. And the curse comes on. Everything comes on, the entire creation, including us. So, yeah, that's a fair way to say it too, that we're born under the curse. We're not born under the blessing, we're born under the curse. That's why we pass in the blessing. When we pass into life, there's curse and blessing. And so if you've ever lived under the curse. That's what I was trying to say the other day in the episode. People were like, oh, you're not tormented in hell. You're just separated from God. It's like, yeah, if you've ever lived under the curse and separation from God, you would never say that. Being separated from him isn't torture. If you've lived under the curse and now you live under the blessing, you would never, ever go back. You would never want to do anything to. To mess that up. And then. And there is an element of, like, John 1:9 says that Jesus Christ is the light that lights every man that comes into the world. So some of us read that as, like a conscience. Like, even if you go into the jungles, man has a conscience. You can go into any jungle on the planet and, like, go up to some dude and say, hey, I'm gonna take your wife in the tent right now. And he's gonna say, whoa, whoa, whoa, no, you're not. There's, you know, there's something in man that knows of right and wrong. I'm not saying there's not that there's. That we're born with a conscience. Romans 1 talks about that we'll all. Nobody will be without excuse because the creation itself testifies of God.
Matt
Well, maybe those people we were talking pre show about, like, I don't know, the Amalekites or the people that God sent. And you said it would be considered a genocide. Where you have to be Panda.
David
Tell us if you want us to read it or not. Because if it's like, if you don't want us.
Matt
No, we're going to read it next. I see.
David
Well, no, I think she's saying she may not want us to read it, though.
Matt
Oh, all right.
David
Well, Panda was one of the first people to ever reach out. She's my buddy.
Matt
So the Amalekites, maybe the reason these type. These tribes had to be wiped out is because they don't have this type of consciousness. Like, they've got this, like, zero morality sort of consciousness. And they're God, just like, yo, kill them. And that. That shows in, like, attacking from behind, killing the weak. There's, like, something morally not compatible with other human beings.
David
Yeah. Now, all I'm saying is don't accuse God, because some people are like, well, he said to wipe out certain tribes. Men, women, children, animals, everything. And if that's not nephilim, then God's saying, commit genocide and then God's bad.
Matt
That's what I said.
David
I'm just saying, pump the brakes with that. Because God could, say, wipe out that guy's bloodline and he's not a Nephilim. Like, I don't. I don't know if the Amalekites are Nephilim. And I should have read this before I go into some deep things, like saying all this, but correct me if I'm wrong, or maybe Sean, if he's in the chat. Stop, Raven. Why is he doing that? I don't like that. Okay?
Matt
Stop reading the chat.
David
I know, but I can't help it when he's doing that. Okay. Why is he blowing us up today anyway? He's supposed to be.
Matt
I didn't even answer him. I didn't even answer him. He says, what? He's some. Like, the American guy's missing the talent on the show. I'm like, yes, get out of here.
David
Yes.
Matt
No.
David
I am incredible. Okay, so the Amalekites attacked Israel from the back. The weak and the lame, they hit
Matt
it from the back.
David
I don't. Like, I had a feeling you're going to do that. And so because of that, God says, wipe them all out.
Matt
Okay.
David
I don't know. We could go back and do the study and see if they are a Nephilim tribe. If they are Nephilim. I. But I don't necessarily think they are. I think they're just humans. And God said, no, dude, I got beef with Amalek now. He says that, like, I'll have a continual beef with Amalek. And then he says, wipe them all out like that. Like, that's the issue with Saul. It goes all the way to Saul's day, King Saul's day. He says, kill them all off, and then he keeps the king, he keeps the sheep. And then Samuel approached him and said, bro, what's up? Like, what. Where's. What is all these? Oh, yeah, I killed them all off, he said. And then the sheep went back. He goes, what? How. What's that sheep doing then?
Matt
Yeah.
David
Oh, yeah, yeah. We kept those for sacrifice. And that's where that famous line comes from. What's better to God, obedience or sacrifice? He says, I kept the king, and then Samuel ends up killing the king. Yeah, so. So I'm just saying, I don't ever like to jump to conclusions and say, oh, God would only say, wipe out that whole people because they're Nephilim. God's going to do whatever God's going to do. And. And whether that's offensive to us or not, that's. That's our issue. Like, God's going to do what he's going to do, and he can have his reasons for wiping out an entire bloodline.
Matt
I'm saying the game is gonna be the same reason. So why do you think the. The flood happened? Do you think that was just all human, Human sin?
David
He says that. He says that's what it's for. Now, that's not to say that the angels, the fallen angel, what are the watchers, whatever. I know we got to be a little more specific, especially if some people
Matt
are screaming to Nephilim Death squad, too, so.
David
Okay, but I'm just saying that. That.
Matt
Tread carefully, Matt.
David
That the. The flood is specifically brought because of the sin of man. It repented God at his heart. That doesn't say that. Like those entities that came down and started breeding with humans didn't accelerate the cinema, but man was still held responsible, just like man is held responsible for being infested with a demon. You know, that thing has to get in you somehow, and you're held responsible for who you are.
Matt
It just seemed like it was so out of control. And he was like, all right, sure, we've reached a peak limit. Sure, we have to stop.
David
And there is something tricky with it where it says that Moses was perfect in his genealogy, like, he was perfect in his DNA, if you will. So there is an element. I'm not saying there's not an element of that.
Matt
Right.
David
But he says that, like, this is for the sin of man.
Matt
You're just saying to attribute that to any time the Israelites wipe out an entire tribe or people don't Say, oh,
David
that's only okay if God says to do that. If they're Nephilim. No, no, no. God.
Matt
If God does whatever he wants.
David
Yeah, right. That's what sovereignty is. God does whatever he wants, however he wants.
Matt
But then wouldn't that be an implication of God messing up? Like, so God created an entire group
David
of people with free will that use that free will to. To go evil.
Matt
And here we are again. Go that evil, though, like, they. I guess. I guess you can. You can go that evil if, like God.
David
Well, it's also a story of people. Oh, this is going to get so offensive.
Matt
Go ahead. Whatever.
David
Just coming at Israel, he's like, no, dude, no. Not to say he doesn't bring enemies against Israel. He does. He absolutely does. What am I reading before bed right now? It's like Solomon's Day. Solomon's going away from God and he's sinning with all the hus. From all the lands. He's like, got these chicks from all the different nations now. They're building astral poles and he's worshiping false gods. And God raises up enemies against Solomon and against Israel because of that. So God's going to do whatever he's going to do. That's why I just want to spend my life reading the Bible and be like, okay, God, this is all. This is your deal. This is your deal. Let. Let me. Let my little feeble mind somehow get wrapped around this and do understand what you're doing. And even if I don't understand it, let me just be obedient to you and be on your team. And I don't want to get caught up in like. Well, I wouldn't do that. So God must be bad if he does something I wouldn't do. Like, if any of us was God, it'd be a bad scene, dude. It would be a very bad scene. Did you ever see the movie the. Where the raccoon. The. You know what I'm talking about. It's not the Avengers, but the.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
Guardians of the Guardians of the Galaxy. This last one, the one that creates the raccoon.
Matt
Oh, yeah, yeah.
David
The chick that's a sister. There's the one that's named after Sodom and Gomorrah. Okay. The green chick, that's Gamora. Yeah. She's got a sister that's like a robot. Yeah, robot parts. Yeah.
Matt
Blue lady.
David
She says a lot of the people see that guy that made the raccoon as a God, as God as the creator. A lot of chunks of the universe See him as God. He was a creator. He created, like, the gold people in that movie. Like, I wish I knew some of the names that there's like, gold people and, like, he created those races and he's evil. And I think sometimes we take it for granted that God is good. Like, what if we were born into something where we. Where God was evil? That would suck, dude. But the Bible's very clear. God is good. God is good. He sends his reign on the just and the unjust alike. He gives us much more than we deserve because we don't deserve anything. He doesn't owe us anything. He opens up a relationship to him, and that doesn't mean his penalties aren't harsh when you go against him. But he's good. There was another way it was said is maybe it's a CS Lewis thing where the girl is, like, terrified of the lion in that movie. It must be that. I don't know where else I would have got this from. And the little girl is like. Sees the line, is like, is he safe? And then the dude goes, no, he's not safe, but he's good. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. I feel like that's a good not.
Matt
Yeah, don't go next to it.
David
He's not safe, but he's good.
Matt
That's. That's a. That's a loaded statement.
David
You really are, man. All right, are we getting into.
Matt
Yeah. So he wants to know if we had. There's a lot of questions. How did Jesus escape sin becoming sinless when he was born as a human? Jesus didn't escape the curse of death. Stop looking in the chat.
David
Well, no, I just feel bad if g. By Jonathan. He's kind of like my buddy now. I think we were texting about chickens and stuff over the weekend, but I don't. Yeah, we're born into sin nature. And so I don't know when we get to this point. Like, we talked about when Adam or when David child was struck sick by God and then killed, and David said, I'll go be with him. So it wasn't like that that baby was punished and cast into the lake of fire or anything like that. Like, there is some element of where those. Those babies do go be with God. But yeah, we're born into sin nature, man. That's. That's why Jesus had to come. If we weren't born into sin nature, then there's. We didn't need Jesus to come and die for us, to make us right, to put us in right standing with God.
Matt
Yeah. So he's asking how he escaped the sin. It's like, well, Jesus was never born. If you.
David
Oh, how Jesus. Yeah, well, Jesus is God.
Matt
Yeah.
David
So he's. He's put into Mary's womb.
Matt
Yeah, it's some. It's something different.
David
But. But even in that, he surrendered his ability as God and lived sinless. Like, I like that. To me, I know. It's like the. From when he's, like, 0 to 12, just kind of silent. It doesn't really say much about when he's a baby and when Herod tries to wipe him out. But, like, he lives in that whole time period in a house with siblings and doesn't sin like that. Like, that's wild, dude. If you ever see kids with each other, you know what I'm talking about. They never sent. He never sinned in that situation. He lived according to his mom and dad's rules, never sinned, goes into a carpenter shop, never sins. Like, it's. It's. It's. It's staggering.
Matt
Well, then it really makes you think, like, what exactly is sinning?
David
Missing the mark. I think he alluded to that. That's like. That. The core of that word.
Matt
Yeah. So what is, like.
David
But sin nature. Is that cursed nature? He got that, too. He's right about that, too.
Matt
That. What did you think about when Ed said that our parents, like, choose to have us?
David
They do. I mean, they. What do you mean? Me and Jessica were like, yo, let's get it.
Matt
Is that why we're born into sin? Because it's. I. I know, but, like, no, we're
David
born under the curse. We're born because Adam, everything comes from Adam. We're all born under that curse, dude, that he created. That's what that whole. Just go read Romans 5, because otherwise we'll just be here for, like, most of the day. But you guys can all read Romans 5 and it pulls up how, like, Adam screwed it up, if you will. I'm doing finger quotes. Sin passed on to all of us. Jesus came back and corrected that and brought life to all of us. Romans 5, like, really breaks it down. Right.
Matt
I'll finish the rest of his question here, but we'll move on. I never felt that we were born into sin. Cursed, yes. To be a human in the Old Testament, I feel that God gave them the start, as Jesus did, and they separated themselves from the love of the Father with sin. Then he quotes Romans 8:38, which is.
David
What's it say?
Matt
Hold on, I'll pull it. There it is.
David
Yeah, I'm persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Matt
So what exactly is this question here then?
David
I don't know. I don't know. But I think we. I gave it everything we got. I mean.
Matt
All right, we'll move on. We got Panda Fly up here too.
David
I mean, Kenny, the Fed is right what he's saying too. I probably didn't elaborate it clear enough, but I think that that's. Yeah, he's God put inside of a woman as like an incubator and born. He's a man. He's compatible with man so that he can be born of a woman. But it's the blood of God in him. It's God. He's God, but there's a man in the Godhead. Like, that's what's. That's what's the wildest thing.
Matt
It's interesting why, like Jews would track their lineage from the mother. Like being like the. You're. You're Jewish. If your mother was Jewish.
David
But I don't know anything about that. That's the Bible records genealogies that go through men.
Matt
Yeah. I don't know why they do that. It's like modern Jews, you're saying. Yeah, yeah. Today to be considered part of the tribe. They're like, well, what was your mother? They don't really care what your father was, really. I think it's.
David
Don't know anything about that. That. So I don't know.
Matt
There might be more of like a materialistic, like, how were you raised? Kind of thing because, like, if you're born from the mother, you're going to grow with the mother. So then they consider you ethnically Jewish.
David
Well, it's wild because Timothy's mom was a Jew and the dad was Greek. For what it's worth.
Matt
I don't know. I don't know. All right, Panda Fly, let's go.
David
Panda, she said.
Matt
This is not much of a question, but I'd like to hear you discuss Ecclesiastes 1.
David
What's in it?
Matt
I don't know. Just the whole chapter maybe. It seems like almost everyone in this group at some point has had the same struggle with seeing everything as meaningless and wearisome beyond description.
David
Amen.
Matt
Or the greater the. Or the greater the wisdom, the greater the grief.
David
Yes, that's a.
Matt
That's a true statement. Especially with the kind of topics that we dive into and uncover verse 17 really resonates too. Oh, you want to read that?
David
And I gave my heart to no wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. Okay, so to me it's interesting. My grandma used to read Ecclesiastes. Remember I was telling before that like I started reading the Bible because my grandma was telling me to read the Bible. If you ever hang out with old ladies, they love Psalms, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.
Matt
Like because of the poetic nature of it.
David
I don't know. The old ladies love those three books, dude. Which doesn't mean I don't love them too. I'm just saying, like a lot of times if you see an old lady reading the Bible, like they're in one of those three books. But my grandma was in it, so I read it. But that was before I was converted and it made so much sense to me. I was like, yeah, everything's meaningless. I was like, I didn't know the Bible says this, but come to find out it's all meaningless based on no concept of eternity. Like the spirit's made for eternity, so it's only fed on food of the temporary realm. It's vexed. That's what's in verse 17. I gave my heart to no flies old into no madness. She's got an old soul. I gave my heart to no wisdom into no madness and folly. I perceive that this also is vec. My spirit's vexed. It's vexation of spirit because there's nothing eternal.
Matt
And her version says so I set out to learn everything from wisdom to madness and folly. But I learned firsthand that pursuing all this is like chasing the wind.
David
Boom, boom. If you have no concept of eternity, how is any of this mean anything? Yeah, you live for 120 years and you're a billionaire. Great. You're still gone in 120 years. Like, who cares?
Matt
Maybe you guys are like, maybe they're having a weird misconception about what I. I can only speak for myself, what I do on the show.
David
What do you mean?
Matt
And David in a way too. Like, a lot of people make fun of us.
David
Where's this coming from right now?
Matt
Well, a lot of people make fun of NDS in a way because we're not the guys that are doing extensive deep dive deep dives into. Into subjects besides the Bible. I mean like the Bible. We're actually going deep on the rest of the stuff. Even since the beginning of the show. I mean, off the top of my head, like the telepathy tapes. Puharich. A couple of other things. The nephilim, like, these kind of ideas. The nephilim is a biblical topic, but, like, that's the stuff that we're diving deep into. I think the fans, they. They listen to the shows and a lot of the information that comes across, they might be diving deeper into some of these things.
David
Oh, and just saying, like, what do we do now?
Matt
Oh, yeah. I don't know. Are you driving yourself into madness? Because I'm not.
David
Yeah, that's a. Yeah, dude. If you're looking at all the things, you're like, well, the Republicans aren't gonna save us and Democrats aren't gonna save us. Trump's not gonna save us now. Oh, man. We've been digging into the aliens for a decade now. I mean, people in the chat, they've been tracking down that when is the government gonna say. The government finally comes out and says it. But it's all Slob Epstein files.
Matt
Like, we look through.
David
That's what I'm saying. That's why. Stop chasing all that stuff. That's what I'm saying. Like, check out. And a lot of the stuff in the news. I don't know what's in the news, because I don't care. I know it's all a trap.
Matt
You got to be able to look through it and, like, kind of swim in it and then just jump out, I guess.
Host
I don't know.
Matt
I don't have an addictive behavior to
David
stay in the word of God, dude. Because that's eternal. Like, that's eternal. That's going to matter. You're going to take that with you into eternity.
Matt
But here's the thing, though. People are interested in. In these subjects. If they're not. If they're not watching it here with us doing it, they're going to go and watch somebody else.
David
But then they're going to be, like, depressed. They're going to be like, well, I
Matt
don't know if they are depressed right now where they're watching us do it. We're doing it. We're trying to do it with, like, a. A sense of humor and keep it light in a way. Like, we. We go kind of deep on some of these things. But I'm not gonna go and do like, 10 episodes and get into every single detail of it, because I don't think it's important for me. I don't think it's important for you guys either. So if you guys are out there doing That I don't know.
David
The next verse says this. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he that increases knowledge increases. That's what you're saying. So it's like, this is what rich.
Matt
That's why we're telling you guys to be rich.
David
Men of the earth go through this. Like, this is the fate of all wise men with no concept of eternity.
Matt
Yeah. If you guys are doing this, you're doing the whole dangerous thing wrong. Like, that's the point of the show. That's why we branded it like that. Like, understand it. I think you. You've got to understand it at a surface level, but you can't go in it because look. I mean, look at what they're saying. Who wrote this? Solomon? Probably not that way.
David
No, I think it's Solomon. I mean, some of the Bibles say that it's the writings of Solomon. Like King James, it says Ecclesiastes. Or the preacher is like the name of it.
Matt
Right.
David
So it makes sense if it's Solomon when he. When he. Once he goes astray. Yeah, this looks like something Solomon would write. When he goes astray. Yeah, he's like, completely lost his way. He's boning chicks from a thousand chicks. He's got like, a thousand chicks, dude, all from different countries. I got my hands full with one chick, dude. He's got a thousand chicks, and they're all from these different countries. Imagine, they're all serving. Stop. They're all serving false gods. He's building them temples to false gods. Yeah, I could see where he lost his mind. And this is where he's at now. Everything's meaningless. Nothing means anything. Yeah, you lost your way, bro. Like, you completely lost your way.
Matt
Yeah.
David
And now everything's meaningless. You should have just stuck with God in the beginning. He prayed for wisdom. He really. What he's praying for in the Hebrew, I believe, is a hearing heart. He's praying for, like a hearing spirit, a hearing heart to be connected to God. Because sometimes people say what was different between Solomon and Adam and Eve? Because Adam and Eve just wanted to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, to have that knowledge of good and evil. Isn't that what Solomon's asking for? Yeah, but Solomon asked for it, not outside of God. Like Adam and Eve went to get it outside of God from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Solomon says, I want to hear your heart so that I'll have that knowledge directly from you, God.
Matt
And he still went. He still kind of lost the path.
David
He did, bro. He did.
Matt
I say this, man. I said this all the time. When I think about some of the. And this is messed up, because I. I love my kids. When I think about, like, the happiest or the. The most peaceful time in my life, it was me and my wife were living in. Hold on. My wife. We were living in a basement apartment in Brooklyn.
David
Without the kids.
Matt
Yeah. We didn't have kids yet. We were. I'm.
David
You were happier back then. Not.
Matt
Not happier, but. Simpler times.
David
Sure.
Matt
Like, when I say, like, peace.
David
I know, but you'll probably look back 20 years from now and say, this was a simpler time.
Matt
No, I. Well, maybe because. Because things progressively get crazy.
David
You get more stuff. Yeah. Wait a minute. Because that's where I'm at. My kids are 20.
Matt
Yeah.
David
And I think this. I think the time period you're in right now is the hardest time. Little kids.
Matt
No, but you have the.
David
When you have little kids, that is absolutely the hardest time.
Matt
Even forget about the kids. I've got a mortgage. I've got a house. We have land. We have whatever. But no, it's just more. More shit.
David
You're just incredibly wealthy. I get it.
Matt
Sure. I work hard, Matt.
David
You do?
Matt
I do. I work hard to pay my dad's tab.
David
When he comes, he goes, put it. Put it on Daniel's tab.
Matt
Thanks for doxing me. I'm just saying I had less responsibilities. We had rent. Rent was, like, $600. And then I had, like, my job, and that's what we did. You did your job, you did your rent. You came home. We didn't have anything. We had a basement apartment that smelled like mildew. Probably because it was, like, in the basement. And it was like. At the time, I was like, this sucks. Like, we got to work to get a house and do this, and then you get more stuff, and you're like, oh, what did I ask for? I have a house now.
David
I know, and you love to trash cultures that don't go for that. That. Cultures that don't build airplanes and skyscrapers. But is there wrong with certain cultures who, like. Like. I think you like to rag on a guy if he's like, yo, I just want to live on my farm. I don't need to own anything.
Matt
Amen. But then you can't bring the word of God to people, because if I don't do all that crazy stuff, and
David
if you don't, doesn't mean those guys are bad. I would have no problem just living on a farm and never leaving it.
Matt
I think I think you are bad. I think not you, but I think you're bad.
David
You're bad.
Matt
I think you're bad. If. If you have a. If God called you to do something, okay? And instead you go and say, I'm not even gonna figure out what if
David
there's people that God's like, yo, I just want to live on my farm and live in peace and quiet, man. I don't want to build skyscraper.
Matt
Good for you. That's.
David
I don't want to get in the rat race. I don't want to have unlimited debt that never goes away. And when I buy a mortgage, when I buy a house for 200k, I end up paying this thing called the 600k because they have the stuff called interest. Like, I don't want to do all that. I don't want to be in debt. I don't want to be in the system that's just going to enslave me and make me buy all their food from the store and get their so called health care for thousands of dollars a month. But then you don't. But then you still got to pay when you go to the doctor the same as the guy who doesn't have. It's like, how do we not know that's a scam? If everybody in America canceled their health insurance right now, we could all go to the doctor and have like a gym membership for a hundred dollars a month.
Matt
That's anti Semitic.
David
Stop. The doctors will be like, yo, just pay me 100amonth and your whole family can come here. The only reason it costs so much, because this insurance thing, dude, that's like farming fear, as the dude on Benjamin would say.
Matt
Yeah, okay, I, I understand. That's all true. I'm just saying there's different cultures.
David
That's all I'm saying.
Matt
There's different. Listen, we can argue this all day. I.
David
No, I don't argue. I think I'm just saying it's okay that there's different cultures.
Matt
I don't think that there's any merit in cultures that go, yeah, man, climbed a tree, ate a tomato. Whatever they did that day, I was like, figure out electricity, your people, you know what I mean? Like, there's a level of diminishing returns to this stuff. That's just the reality of this she got going on there. We're in the part of the show where Matt text messages. Nobody.
David
No, there's just. There's like a major problem out there.
Matt
Oh, okay. All right.
David
I'm sorry about that.
Matt
All good. All right.
David
Everybody, did we get Panda's deal? Did we get Panda covered?
Matt
No. So she says, I guess I'm asking you to discuss this for anyone who's new to listening to the show now or in the future maybe, so they can know they're not alone in these feelings. And the only comfort in everything you come to know is God and his plan. That's kind of heartbreaking. That sucks.
Host
It.
Matt
That sucks, Panda. Because that's not the reason why we're doing this show. But for some reason, that's the reason that, like, that's the. That's what you're taking away from it.
David
What do you mean?
Matt
This show NDS was made in response, in a sense, to that. Like, you can only do so much. What was that guy? I used to watch him too. The.
David
The Q dude x22 reporter.
Host
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah, that's. That's like, oh, that's good. Give me the information. And then all of a sudden you're like, oh, Nancy Pelosi's eating ice cream in the basement and they're eating babies
David
and it's too much.
Matt
Yeah, it's too much.
David
It was really intriguing when it first popped up, though.
Matt
It's good to know. Especially when you don't know you need to be shaken. Like, hey, listen, the world's a lot worse than you think. You think everything is just, you know, ESPN and.
David
Right.
Matt
Whatever, Nacho tv. It's not. It's crazy. But then you look too much into that, and that's crazy too.
David
Right. Right. Then you start putting too much of your hope into the Dude Trump or whatever.
Matt
Yeah.
David
And it's just like, no, no, just understand all that. That's all just players in a game. But I think what I was intrigued about is, like, well, God's up to something because something's changing. Like the things that Dude Trump is saying. Nobody was allowed to say that out in the open like that before. Like, however that system worked and it kept everything very tight lid. All of a sudden, this Dude Trump comes on the scene, and he's bluntly saying the things that you weren't allowed to say before. So. So something was changing.
Matt
Yeah.
David
But then if you take that information and go, that means he's the savior. It's like, okay, then now you got to punt the brakes.
Matt
You got to keep growing. A lot of people are stuck. But the. I guess part of the growth is that you have to do go through that. You have to get to the point where you go, oh, damn, everything is horrible. I better look into this.
David
Thank God. For eternity.
Matt
Yeah, but you're doing it now in this. You know, in this temporal realm.
David
Yeah, but as long as your mind is set on eternity, like the scripture says, set your affections on things above, not on things of the earth. When that happens, you don't really care about the stuff of the earth that much anymore. It loses its shine. Like. Like you're really focused on eternity. You're like, one day there's going to be eternal rewards, and one day I'm going to stand before Jesus and one day, like, the pain and the suffering and the sickness and the tears are gonna go away. Yeah, I'm kind of pumped for that. I'm gonna grind and do everything I can down here, but with my mind on that. If I'm grinding down here with my mind, like, yeah, sometimes I'm. At some point down here, I'm gonna get my return, then, yeah, that's a bottomless pit. Like, I'm not expecting my return down here.
Matt
Can you. Can you adequately be in that? I guess you're in that mindset. But for me, I didn't. I had to come through, like, all, like, all this, like, weird suffering. And then you go, oh, yes, the eternal. But I know. I know the rest of it now, and I know the pitfalls going forward because we're still alive here. A lot of people that go, oh, man, I'm not worried about it. It's all eternal. Then they go, and then they pray for the Republican Party. And I'm like, yeah, you know what I mean?
David
By the grace of God, I lost everything, though. Like. Like, it wasn't. Like, I just woke up one day and I was like, oh, I'm super holy. I don't need money anymore. I'm not. I'm not into the things of the world because I'm so holy. Like, that's not how it happened to me. Like, I lost everything. And it was almost like a. Like a wanker, like a little baby that I was like, okay, I don't care about all the money anymore. Like, yeah, because now you don't have any.
Matt
Yeah.
David
So it was almost like a reflex to that. Right. But by the grace of God, that was the only way he was going to do it to me, was to take it from everything. And then when we finally got through that time period, I was like, God, couldn't we have just talked about this? And he goes, like, right when it came out of my mouth, he's like, no, that's. That doesn't work like that with you, like, there, like, There was no way to get you to stop your love of money and your love of, like, reputation and your love of like, all the things in the natural realm until I destroyed all that stuff and made you not have it. And then almost as like a defense mechanism, if you will, then you had to be like, well, I don't care about all this stuff anyway. So it's not like I'm like some super holy righteous guy that just one day woke up was like, you know what? I'm not about all this stuff anymore. It only happened when it all got ripped out of me. Dude, we were renting a house and I was 40. I bought my first house. I was like 22. If you would have told me if you knew a guy that's 40 and didn't own a home, I'd say, yeah, that guy's a loser and an idiot. If you told me I was 40 and had two kids and was renting a home and had no savings and lost everything, I could be like, that dude's a loser. That's what God had to do to me to like, to like wake me up, up. So all I'm saying is, like, once I saw that, only through that process was I like, yeah, this stuff doesn't matter, dude, I really don't care. Then all of a sudden we had a giant stack of money and we built out a library. We were back down to zero. I was like, I don't care anymore. I don't care. And we were very like, sketch to tell anybody because we knew. The couple people that we told were like, you guys have lost your effing mind. Like, you guys could buy a house outright right now. Why don't you just buy a house? You're still renting? What do you mean? You're going to build out a coffee shop that half of it makes no money. Like, you guys are idiots. But then we like go. As soon as we get away from like normal grown ups, we'd be like, I don't think we're idiots. This makes perfect sense. Jess would be like, yeah, this makes perfect sense to me. I'm like, well, yeah, I don't care what people say. You know what I mean? It's like this process. Like, so I don't know, maybe there's normal people that don't have to have everything taken from them and they can still come to that conclusion, but maybe not. Maybe some of us. God's like, no, bro, it doesn't go like that.
Matt
I think this is the problem with. I guess the question that she's asking. There's so many different people that are going to watch this, and they're in so many different places. They're like, I don't know. I'm just gonna continue to do the best that I can. But, like, if you're watching this from here, just understand that I'm probably joking about everything that I'm saying, so don't take it serious. There's some real information, but in the end, like, if you're not, like, laughing at this and just moving on with your life, you're doing it wrong.
David
She's right. A lot of the lament just connects with a lot of people, man.
Matt
Yeah. All right, Nick. Nick asked when Elijah called down the fire to kill the 400 ball worshipers? I think it was a little less than that.
David
No, there was 400 bail and 450 prophets of the Grover. There's 850 total.
Matt
850 total, right, right.
David
I don't remember. It was 400 for the.
Matt
Here's a question.
David
Let's go. Yeah.
Matt
When he did that, do you think
David
it was lightning when he called fire out of heaven?
Matt
I think it was. I think it was fire, dog. If they said fire.
David
Well, no, they call lightning fire, too. Sure could be. I think even one of the plagues, it says that God sent fire, like on Egypt, and it ran along the ground. I don't know that that's not speaking of lightning. But the. But the bottom line is, is that the fire comes down and burns the sacrifice. Like, that's why we look at it like it's actual fire, not not just lightning.
Matt
Oh, okay.
David
Yeah, because the fire. You made the shirt. What do you mean? Okay, like.
Matt
Yeah, I drew fire.
David
Yeah, because it came down and burnt the sacrifice.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
I don't think that was lightning that came down and burnt the sacrifice. I think it was fire. And I think Solomon called fire out of heaven one time too, dude. Or maybe he didn't call it out of heaven, but it came down. Can we google that? You have, like, a Googler right there. That's quick. I have a.
Matt
Do I have a googler?
David
Yeah. Is. Did fire come down and burn the sacrifice in Solomon's day?
Matt
Okay, let's see. Solomon's fire sacrifice, reverse of the miraculous event.
David
Yo, let's see it.
Matt
Let's first pull it up.
David
What? Chapter and verse?
Matt
It's probably like 2nd Chronicles 7, verse 9. Let's see.
David
2 Chronicles 7, 9.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
No, that can't be right.
Matt
No, I don't know. It's probably it's probably a story that's spread across.
David
There's Def Sean from Kingdom in Context is still in the mix. He'll probably know.
Matt
I don't know. 7:1. Check. 7:1:1. Yeah, yeah.
David
Now, when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the house. Isn't that wild? So Elijah wasn't the only one. I think it happens with Moses too. Let me see if that happens with Moses. Is that wild? Yeah, yeah. That's not the only time that happened. What did I say? Leviticus?
Matt
It is a good question, though, because it's like for something to burn up, a sacrifice that. That's covered in water too. You're thinking about, like, the intensity of this fire. Fire is like this wispy thing. Like, if you know about.
David
No, I didn't hear Stephen Biblical Hitman the other day when the place was an inferno.
Matt
That's a different. But now.
David
What do you mean? That was. That was more of a fire than God's fire?
Matt
No, an outside fire. Like when you set a fire on your. On your property and, like, you're burning whatever you can. You can feel the heat. But a lot of that top stuff is the hot is like at the bottom. You know what I mean? Like. Like at the very core of it, that's where the heat is. The rest of it's kind of show. That's why you can put your hand through it. So for it to be what. What Stephen's talking about is like accelerants. You're talking about backdraft. You're talking about explosions. A very concentrated fire. Like, the. The fire is concentrated because it's in those walls. And when you let an oxygen, it eats it up even more. But then it. Then it comes down until all the fuel is out for it to be in the atmosphere. The fire is a little bit wispy when you see it going up. Like when you make the big fire, you put your hand through this. It's. It's hot, but it's not hot hot. So we're talking about a different level of fire that comes down. Like this intense fire or. Or lightning. Lightning is like, that's encapsulated. That's just a. Like pure energy. And when it hits stuff, boom. Blows it up, sets it on fire. I don't know. It could be. It could be a. If it's a fire from heaven, it's an intense fire. And it's like, you know, pointed, very focused. Energy. So it. Yeah, I don't know. I wasn't there, dog. I just read the story for you to read.
David
Noah just reminded me when I used to smoke meth, like, that's how you turn the. You have a glass pipe and you have to, like, rock it and you use the torch to light it. If you're like a stone cold junkie and you didn't use, like, say the torch flame is like that. You don't put the pipe, like in the bottom. You put it at the very top of the flame and it like, just.
Matt
Oh, you're saying that the tip was the.
David
It was hot, but it was, like, cleaner. So it didn't like, burn the pipe and turn it all black like that.
Matt
Just.
David
I don't know. I don't know. I just thought about that. It's probably really stupid for a Bible study to even bring that up, but I'm just saying, like, I don't know. I just thank God I survived all that, dude. I'm just, like, so glad to survive.
Matt
Yeah, but that's like. That's the science of it, because that's like, it's way less hot toward.
David
That makes sense. And it didn't torch the pipe itself.
Matt
The blue fire at the bottom, that's the serious stuff. That's like. And we're talking about blue fire pipe,
David
all black and burnt. People like, dude, you're charring it. You know, I was like, yeah, that's like.
Matt
But yeah, that's like with anything, like, if you're gonna cook stuff, you want to have like a certain distance, especially like your spit roast. And you don't want it right on top of the. The charcoals. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But blue fire is kind of like lightning.
David
Okay, check this out. Leviticus 9:22, starting in verse 22:24 is where the fire comes, but. And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering and peace offering. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation and came out and blessed the people in the glory of the Lord. Appeared unto all the people, and there came a fire out from before the Lord and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat, which when all the people saw, they shouted and fell on their faces.
Matt
Fell on their faces.
David
Yeah, there's just these other times where
Matt
the fire comes, dude, that's what I'm saying, man. Like, for it to come out and burn something like that. And also, you gotta think too, like, these altars are Made of stone to burn something that's on. On a stone, there's no. Unless there's kindling around it for it to, like, catch. And then it doesn't seem like that.
David
No, it seems like straight fire.
Matt
You got a rock and something on it.
David
And we would call supernatural or from
Matt
the spirit realm, super hot fire. So, like. Yeah, like a lightning. Lightning would have that kind of energy in it.
David
So, okay, so you're saying maybe it was lightning.
Matt
Maybe it looked like that. I don't know.
David
I don't know. Here's what I like, though. I like talking about this stuff because I'd rather talk about this than Republicans and Democrats.
Matt
Yeah, this is. This is interesting stuff.
David
So it's, like, cool. Just think about that stuff. Stuff.
Matt
They were going to talk about what this old guy voted on. I was like, nah, dog. Was this fire or light? I don't know. But what we do know is, like, if it was fire, it was probably like concentrated hot. Hot fire. Stuff that we don't. We can't even imagine. Like a Jewish laser beam.
David
Why'd you say it like that?
Matt
Well, technically. All right, what's the next question from outer space? HGTV. Holly. What's up, Hollywood? NASB 95 or NLT for daily readings? Matt's gonna tell you NLT.
David
No, I'm not. I'm gonna say whatever one you like, dude.
Matt
Yeah, I'm working my way through the entire Bible KJV because it's what my 501C3 uses. And I feel like I miss a lot because the writing is different. So different from how we speak.
David
NASB is.
Matt
I like it.
David
It's good, dude. Yeah, he is just like what a little kid would read. That's why I like NLT be. It's not. It's not gonna. I don't think it's gonna be like you're gonna do a deep dive study on it. Sometimes I like it when we do a study because like a Romans 5 or Romans 6 passage is just in the King James. Like, wait, what is it saying? Yeah, hold on a second. I gotta regroup here. NLT just says it's so plain, like a child could understand it. And to me, that's the most important thing. It's not that you're some scholar that can win debates and tell everybody that they're who's wrong and who's right. It's not about any of that. It's about just coming to the word of God with childlike faith, reading it as a child would understand it. And being willing to accept what it says, that's the biggest thing. Dude, when we get into this place where they're like, well, I don't like that it says that. So I think it means something else. That's when you start getting into trouble, man. Like, let's just stick with what is the E. Like, what is the easiest thing? If you were to read it to a kid, what would they think it said? That's what it means. There's no way. God was like, I'm gonna. I'm gonna have the word of God. I'm gonna have this communication system between me and all the humans down there. But you got to have an IQ of like 200 to get it. No way. No way. He's cutting everybody off. Then he has to make it in a way where, like, common people can get it.
Matt
Shout out to Victoria Willis. She bought me and David. It's like a King James and it's a comparison.
David
Sounds like a really sweet lady.
Matt
She's great. I think she's coming to Brogrove. I don't even think she wanted me to say that. No, I don't think so. But she brought us a comparison Bible that's kjv. So King James or maybe new King James, I don't remember.
David
Yeah, those are cool.
Matt
And then on the other side of it, like, it's like a split column, and it's the nlt. So you can read it. This is what it says. And this is like the exact translation to English. And then this is kind of what is being told here. And that's very useful too. But I think that the. The new American standard is. It's both of those, but combined. Yeah, it's just a very accurate translation, but in common language. And they did a great job. It's like.
David
It's like a good, accurate translation and easy to read.
Matt
I was reading the forward. I read the forward to this Bible like, five times because I was like, oh, my God. Like, it's mind boggling to think somebody put their entire. You had to have put your entire life to develop this Bible. And I mean, like, the detail that they have to. This is every single word. And there is no. There are no shortcuts taken. There are references to where they're getting this from. It's like, these dudes did incredible. I don't even know who they are.
David
Well, they may not even be godly men. Who knows, dude, if they're just doing these scholars good. Yeah.
Matt
How could you do this and not be, though after a while? I mean, I guess Thomas read the Bible four times and funny thing about that.
David
Rick Johnson, 7951. Like, when I went into rehab, the one that I. When I lived in the rehab, there
Matt
aren't many drugs that decapitate you. Like meth, pure evil. You got to read the chat, though, so that way the audio listeners kind of understand what you're talking about.
David
I knew you were gonna do it, but it's so true. When I went into the rehab when I was 16 and, like, it was all, like, people who plea bargained. It was all, like, stone cold gangsters that were in this. It was in Oakland and it was like legit gangsters. And I was like this kid from the Valley, just like a total stoner kid. And I remember being in there and I was like, yeah, I don't want to stop doing acid and mushrooms and coke and smoking weed. Like, I'm just like. My parents just freaked out, put me in rehab. But, like, I want to party. But I was like, but I've got to get off meth for that exact reason, dude.
Matt
I was like, oh, meth was the one thing.
David
Yeah, I'm gonna die. Everybody I know that's doing this, they're gone. Like, they're. They're gone. So I was like, I'm not. I'm not ready to, like, stop doing drugs, but, like, I. I gotta stop doing meth. And then I never did when I got out of rehab. So it kind of saved my life to go into rehab, but my parents said I had to go to rehab before I could move back in the
Matt
house, man, everything I hear about meth, it's like, like terrible, dude.
David
Yeah, it's your soul alive. You want to know the craziest thing? Like, Aiden was asking about this. He's like, what's it feel like? I was like, you. You feel like the cleanest thing in the universe. You feel so clean and pure. You feel like everything's, like, pure and good and it's crazy. Dude, it is the craziest thing, and you're just straight up manipulated. The next thing you know, you're like, look, it really is like a magic spell or like a. Like, the level of deception on meth. Like, the level of, like, what's happening to you. You're completely deceived by it. There's this movie called the Rings, but it's the show, not the movie, but, like, the main guy. There's the guy who makes the Rings. Did you ever watch that movie? It's kind of rad. It's kind of rad. J R Tolkien. Is the dude the Lord of the Ring? Yeah. You know what I'm talking about, right?
Matt
Yeah, the Lord of the Rings.
David
Okay, but it's the show, not the movie.
Matt
I didn't see the show.
David
Okay, the show's good. So do you know the guy's name that, like, makes the Rings?
Matt
No.
David
Okay. It's a cool name. Does anybody in the chat know the guy's name? It's like, a really cool name, dude. I wanted to name a drink after it, but then I was like, people are gonna make fun of us.
Matt
Us.
David
Anyway, that guy, he comes under the spell of, like, the Satan character in the movie, and he's making, like, these rings.
Matt
Celebrmore.
David
No, that's not his name, dude. That sounded like Livermore, though, which is kind of cool. So, anyway, Sauron. No, no, Sauron's the bad guy. He's the bad guy. He's like the Satan. No, it's not Elrond. It's the guy who actually makes the rings. He's up in the tower, like, making them.
Matt
Forged by Celebrimore.
David
No, that's not his name, dude.
Matt
That's what they're saying. I don't know. All right, so think about it.
David
No, that's not his name. But anyway, he's, like, making them.
Matt
And he.
David
When he walks outside the tower, he looks on their village and everything's great. Everything looks lovely and wonderful, but everything's, like, burning down, dude. And then, like, the enemy camp, like, comes against their town, is destroying it, where all the elves live, but he can't see it. And then.
Matt
So you're saying, in a sense, like, he's on methamphetamine.
David
Yeah, dude. And then all of a sudden, he comes out of the spell and he sees it for what it is. And his face is all pock marked up, and it's exactly like meth, dude. It's exactly like you're in this total state of delusion that everything's okay, dude. Like, everything is wonderful. And you're. You're like. You have to watch that scene, dude. You gotta watch that scene. What is that guy?
Matt
Yeah, see, that's what they're saying.
David
That's not his name, dude.
Matt
Celebramore. He's an elf.
Host
Right?
Matt
Or he's a. He's a dwarf.
David
And he. I think that's closer. Kelimrandor. Yeah, something like that.
Matt
Okay, but that's how they. That's how they spell it, with the C. Kellenberg.
David
Okay. Yeah.
Matt
Celebrimbor.
David
Calabrimore. That's his name. Sorry, everybody.
Matt
That is. That is a hard name.
David
Yeah, Calabrimbor. That's a rad name. I wanted to name a drink Tap, and I was like, nah, people are gonna make fun of us, but maybe I will. Anyway. Coffee. Anyway, he just goes into straight delusion, dude. And he's like, like seeing this other reality. That's math, dude. And then he snaps out of it and he sees it for what it is and realizes that, like, he did all this. I'm watching. I'm like, it's like a guy on a meth trip, dude. It's like a guy who's just been on meth the last six months, making all these rings for Satan. He didn't even know it. He thought he was doing something good. Yeah. Matthews is incredibly deceptive. Incredibly deceptive.
Matt
Oh, that's a lot of people say that. That's what cannot.
David
Who hated it. I thought it was awesome. Like, I watched it.
Host
It.
David
I. You know how I ended up watching it? We went to the beach for Bella's birthday, and we were boogie boarding the whole weekend. And then when you're at the beach and you come chill in your room. Yeah. You don't have to go all the way home from the beach. You can just chill and go back out again. And I just, like, was crash out in the room and just like, thumbing through the stuff, and I was like, oh, there's some elves. And I'll bet this is, like, trippy. I don't want to. I don't want to do any Republican Democrat stuff. I want to do something that's like, not reality. Click. And then I was locked in.
Matt
This is more reality than I anticipated. It ends up.
David
It is, but. But that's how I got into that show. And it was rad. And I think this. There was two seasons too, that were both good.
Matt
I'll check it out. I'll watch that.
David
Okay. Sorry to go into that big thing.
Matt
No, no, it's. That's. It's interesting. It's interesting because meth.
David
What she said the Internet. Hated it. I thought it was so cool, man.
Matt
Meth created. Created the delusion of, like, the overextension of Hitler in a way, where knows. He thought that he could. He. He thought that he could advance and take way more land than he should have, even though. But he's. He's methed out. He's taken pervitin, which is basically methamphetamine, but, like, in pill form. So he's like Just delusion upon delusion. But, yeah, like, all this power and. Yeah, there you go, beach boy. Beach boy says, what's your take on why God didn't punish Aaron immediately after making the golden calf? That's an interesting one. Because he took part in it. He made it for them because. But that's also what they wanted, right? The people asked him to do this, so he did it, and then kind of like, faded back, like.
David
I mean, I don't know.
Matt
Was he. What? Is it because he's not partaking in the worship with them?
David
No, he. I mean, he made it. It's. It's a funny story, right? Because then he's like, yeah, they gave me all this gold, I put it in the fire, and out came this calf. That's what he says.
Matt
Did he not do anything?
David
Yeah, he did, though. He shaped it. Well, let's read it. It's Exodus 32, right? It's. But I don't. Because, I mean. Because God keeps tabs of people, dude. Everything you do. I mean, is there a thing in your life that you've done recently bad, and he didn't strike you with lightning? You know what I'm saying? I think that's what people get, a delusional heart is because they're like, well, I'm doing a thing. I know it's bad, but God's not punishing me for it. It's like, okay, okay, but just hang tight, man.
Matt
Yeah, Verse two starts. It seems like so. And Aaron said to them, actually, let's start from verse one.
David
Okay. When they. When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mountain, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron and said unto him, make us God. He's been gone 40 days, dude. Right? Delay really messes people up. Like, I think we've been talking about how long till Jesus comes back.
Matt
Who knows?
David
I know, but delay really screws people up. That's why the whole thing. Like, Jesus coming next week, he's coming next year. You know, whatever. It's like, okay, just go easy, because he might not. And delay really screws. Screws people up. Like, why hasn't he returned?
Matt
It's like the army wife. You're waiting, and then you just end
David
up, yeah, Moses is here. He's gone 40 days. I don't. After the first week, were they like, hey, Aaron, what's. What's up, man? Yeah, you coming back?
Matt
Yeah.
David
Did he just leave us out here? Like, what's. You know. And then you get into two weeks, three weeks, 40 days. Is like, six weeks, you know, until they're finally like, yo, he's not coming back. People gather themselves together into Aaron and said unto him, up. Make us gods which shall go before us. For as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt. Yep. We want not what has become of him.
Matt
Hold on. Did that. That would, you know. Have you ever heard Ed tell the story about Cain and Abel? Were he saying, like, the. The sacrifices that Cain and Abel were making were going on for an indeterminate amount of time before God was like, I'm displeased with this sacrifice. It could have been 80 years that they were doing this. But do you think it was, like, a shorter time span? Because these. These people have, like, as you get older, you have more of a lifespan to judge something against. So, like, a kid is very much like, we need to do this now. Because I have no concept of time. Like, I'm living eight years on this life, and we've got to move quick. Whereas me, I'm like, all right, wait. I can wait. I can wait like, a couple of weeks or a month on this purchase before I just go do a thing. You know, I know that there are.
David
Okay.
Matt
Do you think that the. This Cain and Abel sacrifice thing, you think that was, like, immediate? Like. Like they started sacrificing to God and then immediately.
David
I don't know. Because it makes sense if it did go on for time. Just like, if the serpent was tempting Eve for.
Matt
But it also makes sense if it didn't go on for that much time, because they have no time, really, to judge it against. Right.
David
Like, sure, yeah.
Matt
We're supposed to go back to the garden. We got the prophecy. Like, yeah, we'll be so. Yeah, any day now, you know, and for these guys, it was a week. So I. I don't know. It's something to think about there.
David
But, yeah, for these guys, it was 40 days. Days.
Matt
Oh, sorry, sorry. Yeah.
David
So Aaron said unto them, break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. Remember where they got the gold out of Egypt? Yeah, yeah. God had all the Egyptians give it to them. So it's like, be very careful what you do with the blessings of God. That's a good word for everybody. Like, whatever blessings God's given you, what are you doing with it? What are you using it for? Right. Especially if you have a lot of dollars in America. What are you using those dollars for? Just. Just be very mindful of, like, the blessings that God gives you of what you do with it, because they turned on him and became his enemy with the blessing he gave them.
Matt
Well, this is. This is why. I know we've had our disagreements about some blessings that we've gotten, and I'm like, well, yes, you and I never have disagreements. Well, I'm saying be very careful because that's, like, given. If. If we're given a blessing. Like, well, if I'm doing wrong by that, that. That's. That's a curse now.
David
Exactly. That's why I tell you. Just listen to me, Top.
Matt
All right, keep reading. Keep reading.
David
And all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears and brought them into Aaron. So, like, the warning to the church is like, delay can cause mixed worship. Dude. I really think that's a real word, dude. Delay. This delay led them to mixed worship. It was like, yeah, they were with God, but now they want to worship the golden calf, too.
Matt
Yeah. We're in this period of waiting where.
David
Yeah. And people think, like, some spiritual breakthrough is going to happen or some prophetic revival is going to happen or the apostles are going to come on the scene. There's gonna be great revival. And people, you know, there's. People go around and preach those messages, and then those things don't happen. And people, like, fall into mixed worship. Then they fall away. They go, well, it looks like there's some revival happening with this new age thing over here or with this. This Buddha thing over there or with the alien thing over here. They start to go into this mixed worship because of delay. It's like, you're in the long game. That's what everybody, especially the young people, like, you're in the long game.
Matt
Pastor Zach came on NDS not long ago talking about the incorporation of that. I don't know, it's like some weird New Agey technique of. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that.
David
Like, very stupid.
Matt
Like, incorporate that.
David
Right. The church loved that.
Matt
That's. Yeah, that's a trap. That's a trap.
David
Okay. And he received them at their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool. So there's no debate. He made it fashionable after he had made it into a golden calf. And they said, these be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. See how this delay just causes straight delusion if you're not grounded, they went into just straight delusion. These are the gods that brought us out of Egypt, not Yahweh, not God,
Matt
in a way. Like, is there confusion Not. Not their confusion, but like, you think some of their justification is like, well, God gave us this gold and now we've made it into a thing. So it is like a. It's like a small God, like, but like, they should know better. But.
David
Well, there's also a debate that, like, if you look at the. The entity that God rides in on in Ezekiel's vision, it has a calf on it.
Host
It.
Matt
Yeah, well, it's like some sort of an angel. Right.
David
So what the thought is that that same thing is what God had appeared on the mountain, and if he came in. In that, like, chariot, whatever you want to call it, whatever that he came in on and there was a calf on it. There's some things that, like, they associated that with God. And so it was kind of a thing of God, but it was not really God. Right, I've heard that argument too. Take it for what you will. But like, there is a thing where you say, oh, this thing of God is the equivalent of worshiping God. Like, no, no, no, we got. We got to worship God. Not like the blessings of God, not the things of God, not the things associated with God, but God.
Matt
This is like a pagan idea too, where they. They're like, oh, yeah, we'll have like, Ra. Ra is like the main God. But then they're like, there's a lot of other ones. And like, this one will give me this. Or like the. The Romans do it as well. This one will give me love, this one will give me luck. And they're doing that, which is again, not to beat up on the. The Orthodox. But this is why I'm like, hey, guys, with your icons and statues and stuff, like, that's the same. That's the same thing. It's not a grave. Oh, we're not worshiping. It's not a graven image of like. Yeah, but that's like, slippery. You'll see how slippery that is.
David
Wait, which one?
Matt
A great. Like the icons, the little statues of Jesus.
David
Yeah, the little.
Matt
Yeah, no, I'm. I'm talking about for the Orthodox Church. I'm talking about. But I understand what you're saying with that, too. This is a little bit different when. Especially when they're praying to it. It Saint whoever, You know, older saints,
David
they have the stained glass that's made of this saint. That saint.
Matt
Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. The intention is not to worship them, but I'm like, you've set up something.
David
Sure. What else would the intention be?
Matt
So this is what they say. This is what they say.
David
Okay. But what else would the intention be?
Matt
There's a thousand explanations, but I'm giving the most charitable interpretation of it for. For their sake. Like, okay, the intention is not to worship this, but I think that you could slip into that.
David
Okay.
Matt
You know what I mean? Like, it's. It's something else. That's. It just muddies the water, which is kind of what this is. Like, if they. If you're right, and they were making a thing, I like, oh, we've seen
David
that it's associated with God. I see.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Connection you're making. Yeah.
Matt
Anything steps in there, you're like, oh,
David
no, this thing's connected with God. This calf is associated with God. Saint such and such from blah, blah, blah. Is associated with God.
Matt
For sure.
Host
Sure.
David
Yeah. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. So that. So that's the model. That's why we just go back to the Bible. Because the Bible has all the models. The model never changes.
Matt
Right.
David
Like, the patterns never change. That's why, like, when you read a Bible, you just put the Bible goggles on, and then that way you can, like, see the day that you live in through the lens of the Bible. Because. Because none of the patterns change, only, like, the players and the geographic location changes. But all the stuff doesn't change.
Matt
Right, Right. I keep. Keep going.
David
I mean, that's pretty much it. We see what they did. When Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made proclamation, said, tomorrow is a feast of the Lord. So he called it a feast of the Lord. That's why I call it mixed worship.
Matt
Cause, well, the question was, why didn't. Why didn't God smoke Aaron, too? Because he killed 3,000 other people.
David
Well, I would think that he still needed them. I'm doing finger quotes. He still needed them for the rest of the story.
Matt
Right. Did Aaron kill those people? Seems kind of hypocritical, huh? Who killed the people? Was it just Mo who killed 3,000?
David
Well, it looks like it broke out into a straight orgy, Right? Like, that's what was happening.
Host
Yeah.
Matt
But when. So Moses comes back, go. We'll go down.
David
And then what's his name starts stabbing him, right? Starts. Runs the. Is this where he runs the spear through him or. No, that's what the Moabites who. Put every man and sword by his side. Okay, yeah, we get in verse 27.
Matt
Well, verse 14. The Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. Moses turned, went down from the mountain, two tables of the testimony were in his hand, and the tablets were written.
David
Yeah, but he only repented of it because Moses pled with him.
Matt
Right, Right.
David
Moses pleaded with God. God was going to dust him. And Moses pleaded with him. Okay, let's read the whole thing then.
Matt
Okay.
David
Okay.
Matt
Yes, we're in it.
David
He rose up early on tomorrow and offered burn offerings and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.
Matt
To play.
David
That's what they say. That, like, that has sexual connotations. Straight orgy stuff. Stuff. And the Lord said unto Moses, go get thee down for thy people which you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. I love when God says that to Moses. He says, your people that you brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. Moses is like, what? This is your people. Like, you made me like you. I. I don't know. I love. I love Moses and God. I love that. I love all their interactions, man. They've turned aside quickly out of the way, which I commanded them. So they were. They were correctly in the way, but then they turned aside quickly out of the way, which is the story of the entire entirety of the Bible. Like, people say the Jews are bad. I'm like, welcome to the entirety of the Bible. Like this. Like, this is the whole. From the day they come out of Egypt, they're going astray. The entirety of the Bible, Lord said unto Moses, go get thee down, for thy people which thou brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They've turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They've made them a molten calf and have worshiped it and have sacrificed thereunto and said, these be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And the Lord said unto Moses, says, I have seen this people, and behold, it's a stiff neck. People, now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them and that I may consume them, and I'll make of you a great nation. So God even knows Moses is going to plead with him. He says, leave me alone, Moses. I'm going to smoke them. And Moses besought the Lord his God and said, lord, why do you. Why does your wrath wax hot against thy people which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Wherefore should the Egyptians speak and say, for mischief? Did he bring them out to slay them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from your fierce wrath and repent of this evil against thy people. This this is wild. This is very. This is a very big deal, because it's. God's gonna smoke them. And the only reason he doesn't is because Moses intercedes on behalf of them and pleads with them. He's not saying they don't deserve it. He's saying, please, because of your mercy and because of who you are, please don't smoke them. That's why they say he's like a great type of Jesus. Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel, thy servants, to whom you swore by your own self and said unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven in all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. And Moses turned and went down from the mountain. The two tables of the testimony were in his hand. The tables were written on both their sides on the one side and on the other where they written, written. And the tables were the work of God and the writing was the writing of God graven upon the tables.
Matt
Now imagine it's. It's crazy to think about, like if. If Moses is unsuccessful with his bartering here with God, then we have a totally different story. Well, I know the stories. The story stays exactly the same, but I just. Maybe just different names, like a different dude.
David
Yeah, Moses, he says, I'll make another nation out of you, Moses.
Matt
That's what I'm saying. Like, but. But now we're talking about. About restarting. Is the timeline then pushed back? Like, is David still David or is this another person in the. In that place? You know what I'm saying? Like, is everything shifted slightly?
David
That's what I'm saying. All of this could have been another story. And so people make the mistake of saying, yeah, but it wasn't. So this is the only way it could have.
Matt
I disagree.
David
I don't think. Yeah, this story totally could have been different.
Matt
It's not going to be another story. It's going to be. It's going to be the same exact story.
David
Okay, that's fair. But we're just saying that he could have smoked all way the them.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
So in that sense, it'd be another story. It. But. But still God's promises would have been true because Moses did come from the line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. So that could have happened. It still would have been within the realm of the prophecy that. That the Messiah was going to come and that Israel was that chosen nation that specifically came through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Yeah, Moses. Still would have been that, and it still would have been the same story, but different.
Matt
That's. That's a crazy thought to think about,
David
because I know what's going to happen anytime these. Pat. These. These things come up. I just always think of the time that guy was like, matt, we got a big job coming up. I didn't realize there was all this work we had to get done. It's a bank. It's the Villages bank. It's up above Sumter Landing. It's got a ton of furniture, it's got a ton of demo, it's got a ton of floor prep, and it has to all be done by Monday. I forgot. I promised him that. I said, darren, don't sweat it. I got this.
Matt
I got it.
David
I'll take care of it. I'll get in there. Friday, we'll work all night. Friday, I'll go to sleep whenever I wake up. Saturday, we'll work all day. Saturday whenever we go to sleep, we'll do the same thing. Sunday, we'll have everything back when they come in. Monday, everything will be done. He says, okay, how much do you need? I said, okay, give me this much for the furniture. Give me this much for the demo. Give me this much for the floor prep. Give me this much for the installation. Give me this much for the base. Everything's good. We're good. Get it all done. And then when I get paid the next Friday, the pay is, like, way less. And I'm like, hey, what happened? We. We made an agreement. Oh, no. You got all that done in three days? I'm not paying you that much for work in three days. Why? Because in his mind now, he's like, oh, yeah, the fact that it got done in three days, that's the only way this story could have played out. Out. Like, no, no, dude, this story could have played out way worse. They could have came in Monday morning and walked into wet floor patch. Yeah, I'm still patching the floor. Like. Like, in your mind, you're only like, oh, this was so easy because it happened. And people do that with the Bible. People do that with the. They go, oh, this is the only way this story could have happened. No way. This story could have been totally different. You know what I'm saying? I always think about that story because it wasn't the only time the dude did that, but it was always, like, once it was done, he was like, oh, no, there was nothing to it. But he'd freak out ahead of time and be like, like, I don't know anybody that can get this done. I'd be like, no, no, I can get it done.
Matt
Like, do you think, like, do you think the 40 years in the desert could have been avoided if they, or maybe could have been shorter if they were in such the whole time?
David
Yeah, they said that that path is like, I forget if it's like 13 days or something. Could have made that, that walk in 30.
Matt
Walking in circles.
David
Yeah. And so we're like, oh no, it couldn't have been any different because this is what happened. Okay, it could have been different. It totally could have been different. Like, what does that mean? Like, like, like yeah, your day can go totally different based on the decisions you make. Like, what, why, why does everybody's mindset
Matt
of like, well, if you think, think about that, right? So if, let's say it's a year in the desert instead of 40 years, that puts back this entire timeline. Getting to Jesus by 40 years is his mother then Mary.
David
No, maybe it just plays out different. They're in the land 40 years longer. You know what I mean? It still comes that same day with Mary.
Matt
Yeah, yeah. I'm saying it's just like you change one thing and so many other things change.
David
That's what I was trying to tell Ed the other day. Because this is a thing that a lot of so called Calvinists will say, like, could Paul have resisted the call of God? And I'm like, yeah, that story could be totally different. Like maybe he doesn't just reject him right in that call, but a year later, maybe he rejects. No, no, no. Paul could never have resisted the call of God. What about Solomon? So God visits Solomon two times in a dream. The first time he says, I'll give you anything you want. That's when he says, I want a hearing heart. How could that story ever go bad? Like if Solomon didn't go astray, people today would be saying, could Solomon have ever gone away from God? People would be saying that today. They'd say, oh no, man, he could never have gone away from God. He asked God for a hearing heart. He asked God to be close to him, to not, to not know anything outside of his relationship with God. Yeah, but he still went astray. What do you mean Paul couldn't have gone astray? That's just my take. I got. And I don't think it's like rocket science. I think it's just like, yo, you're in the long game, dude. Like, you got to stay the course with God, man. And I'm not saying he doesn't keep you on track. That's why you pray to him, to keep you on track with that, with
Matt
this side of this sort of logic. Like, it's evident that there's only two things in the Bible that are definitively going to happen.
David
Top Lobster and the Raven.
Matt
That's right. We're not in the Bible. No. God in the. In the beginning and Jesus right there. Those are the only. Because, I mean, it's the same entity, but, like, those are the only things that are definitively, definitively going to happen. If any of these guys turn left or right or do a different thing, somebody else gets picked in this place. And then how does that affect the rest of the story? Like, the rest of the story, different names.
Host
Yeah.
Matt
Next shooter.
David
But some people would argue that his return. Although it's known, he says, Jesus says, no man knows. Not even the angels know except my Father in heaven. I'm not even saying what my position is on this, because I'm. There's another one I'm totally comfortable saying. I don't know. I really don't know.
Matt
I'm gonna name the show.
David
I don't know. Say some people say, this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached as a witness unto the world, and then the end will come. That, like, the ball's in our court. For when he comes, as soon as that Gospel of the Kingdom is preached unto all the world, that. That ball's in our court. Because they say, what's the sign? The sign? Not signs, plural. And it looks like he's saying, that's the sign. Like, that's the thing. This Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached unto all the world as a witness, and then the end shall come.
Matt
Well, that's again, like, going back to what I was saying, like, why people think now is the end time. It was like, well, that's easier than ever, you know, like, closer every day. Yeah. We don't have to go by boat to some foreign country. Like, you could. Like, literally, they have some technology. You can preach. They. If they see this show, who knows? You know what I mean? It's like, technically we've done our part. This can go anywhere in the world. So, like, yeah, we're super. Like, if we're not right there, all the conditions are perfect for it, or at least the easiest it's ever been. But do we. Do we want to keep reading this? Because, I mean, no.
David
I mean, we're just back to the question of why doesn't he smoke? Aaron right there. Well, thank God he doesn't just like dust everybody every time they make a mistake, man, or do something wrong. And Aaron plays but he killed all
Matt
the rest of those people. Yeah, I guess.
David
Yeah.
Matt
I don't know.
David
Yeah, well, is there somewhere where Aaron says, I thought they were going to kill me or something. Took the cafeteria, made burned in the fire was in the air. And what did this people unto you that you have brought so great a sin upon them? That's a great question for leaders.
Matt
Listen to this.35 at the very end. And the Lord plagued the people because they made the calf which Aaron made. Made the hell does that mean?
David
I like that.
Matt
I like that they made it with Aaron mead. But again like that's almost stripping responsibility from Aaron because it could have been pressure.
David
No, it's. It gives it, but it puts responsibility on both. Then why do they demanded it and Aaron did it? Well, they didn't. All verse 27 says he said unto them, thus saith the Lord God of Israel, put every man his sword by his side and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp camp and slay every man his brother and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses and their fell of the people that day, about 3000 men, no women. So some people think maybe this is homosexual activity. Some people think maybe, maybe that's what this is about.
Matt
God said, no gay.
David
For Moses had said, consecrate yourselves today, Lord, even every man upon his son and upon his brother, that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day for killing off the evil in the camp.
Matt
Up.
David
Oh no, dude, this is, this is too hardcore, man.
Matt
What is, what is Aaron's relationship to the Levite priesthood?
David
They come from him. Levi's his son.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah. So this could be a reason why he didn't get killed.
David
That's. That's true too. Yeah. It had to be the Aaronic priesthood. Yeah, I mean Aaron was very useful in this story. So I don't know off the top
Matt
of my head, maybe he just wasn't taking part.
David
But this is the most astonishing passage in scripture verse 32. We might as well read it it. Well, I'll start in 30. And it came to pass on the morrow that Moses said unto the people, you have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up unto the Lord per adventure, I shall make an atonement for your sin. And Moses returned unto the Lord and said, oh, this people have sinned a great Sin and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if you will forgive their sin, and if not, blot me, I pray you out of the book which you have written.
Matt
He, like, he really loved his people.
David
Yes. Same as Paul. Paul said, man, let. I'd rather me be accursed than the Jews.
Matt
Is that, like, this goes to the culture of the kingdom as well that we're talking about in.
David
Yeah, Amen.
Matt
Sermon on the Mountain.
David
I'm the least important person here.
Matt
Right? Right.
David
Take me. And I don't think any modern Christians have any concept of this, because modern Christians, their whole mindset is only like, what's the bare minimum requirement for salvation? What do I have to do to go to heaven? Can I just say a prayer and go to heaven? All. All they're thinking is only about how do I get to heaven. Moses says, yeah, block me out. Don't even let me go to heaven. Heaven. That. That's staggering, dude. God says, no, no, we're not going to do it like that. We don't do it like that. He says, yet now, if you will forgive their sin, and if not, block me, I pray thee out of the book which you've written.
Matt
Do you think God is learning something there about people as well?
David
No, I think God knows people already.
Matt
You. You don't think that. That. That's a little bit surprising to him where.
David
Maybe that's why he called Moses to this role, because he did know that about him.
Matt
And so is Moses. Is Moses there? Choosing. This is a crazy. He's not. He's not shirking God. But is he. Is he telling God, like, yo, I'm choosing these. These people here. I love these people.
David
Yeah.
Matt
I'm choosing them. If.
David
Even though they. They were so bad to him, he loved them.
Matt
Yeah. But he's telling God, like, if I can't have these people with me, your people, I don't want to be with you. That's. That's crazy. I don't think that maybe God knows about. Maybe he knew. Knew this. But that's a heavy statement, right? If you're telling him.
David
I don't. I mean, I can't imagine he's meaning it like that. I think he's just saying, like, this is gonna. Matt, God's gonna understand how. What I'm saying. God's gonna understand how serious this is, what I'm saying.
Matt
So you don't think he meant that? He said, you'll block me out of that book too.
David
Like, yeah, like, don't even let me go in if you're not. The book of life has to be what he's talking about. I don't know what other book he'd be talking about. So he's got to be talking about the book of life, where your name has to be written, but your name can be blotted out. So your name can be in the book of life and then get blotted
Matt
out just means going to heaven. Right. This is what he's.
David
The book of life. Yeah. It seems like that's got to be what that's in reference to.
Matt
He's saying, I don't want to go there if.
David
Yeah, I'm so willing. You don't think. You don't think you'd ever say that about your wife? You don't need to ever say that. God, take them. Don't. Even if I'm. If I gotta. If you gotta throw me out, fine, but take them.
Host
Them.
David
Yeah. I think you can only have. You can only act like that if you have the spirit of Christ.
Matt
But I also. What's the journey worth, too, right. Like, in anything, unless the people who were there with you, even if they're, like, flawed, like, they're not going to come with me.
David
Yeah. Who's on your ship? It's like. It's like the angel comes to Paul on the ship and says, don't worry, dude, you're not going to lose anybody. Anybody that's on your ship, they'll all be saved because they're on your ship. Like, yeah, I think we should all say, all right, God, who's on my ship? Like, I want to save as many as I can. Like, I'm gonna walk around the Earth for 120 years tops, and just put me in this strange little spot called the villages. But then also, we have this strange thing called a podcast, and so we can reach these other people, but, like, yeah, God, let's reach as many as possible. Like, I want to be hanging with all these people as many as possible, like, in the eternal realm. I want to be with this generation that you've. That you've put me in the middle of love.
Matt
It's also. I. I don't know. It's. It's interesting, too, to consider, like, all right, that's his tribe. Like, that's his people.
David
Yeah.
Matt
He didn't say that for the other people, for the Egyptians, which he was raised under. You know, he's raised. He's like, yeah, whatever, these are, but these are my people.
David
Yeah.
Matt
I feel like that is.
David
That's what he did when he went out and saw the Egyptian treating the. The Hebrew bad.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
He was like, these are my people. Not the Egyptian beating them up, up. But who knows, dude, his mom is in Hebrews 11 as one of the heroes of faith. Dude, that they hid him, knowing that he was tove. Knowing that he was good. And so maybe his mom was reading the prophecies. Dude, hey, the dude, Abraham, like, we're doing the math. And that was 400 years ago. You're the one. Like, you're the one. Because that. Because that's what Stephen says. Before they stone Stephen in acts like seven or eight says, Moses, suppose his brethren had knew that he was their savior. Because a lot of the commentaries will just say this, that Moses had an anger problem and that's why he killed the Egyptian. But Stephen said, no, no, he thought his brethren knew that he was their savior. He knew his destiny ahead of time. He just jumped a gun on God by 40 years. But he knew his destiny. He knew he was supposed to take them out of Egypt, but he jumps the gun on God. He has to go to the back side of the desert for 40 years till God can humble him. Until he gets Moses to a place where Moses says, I can't do this. I can't go in there. That's ultimately what Moses is saying to God. And that's finally when God says, okay, now I can use you.
Matt
We got to be careful with that. Like, we were talking with Ed about Cain and Abel. If Ed's supposition is correct, where Cain thinks he's the one, and, you know, I'm the one that's going to get us back in. I'm the one. I'm the guy. And God says, no, sure. Then you get spiteful. But, like, I wonder how Moses knew I. Who knows?
David
Well, it looks like Moses know God. Like he. Like he was in a relationship with God. Like, his mom must have spoke to him. The dad, if they were slaves. I'm guessing the dad was like, never home. So the mom, I'm guessing is the one who's like, speaking into his life. And that's who's referenced in Hebrews 11.
Matt
Yeah.
David
And so somehow he's. That's when he enters into this relationship with God. He starts to hear God's voice. He starts to know God. And so at the burning bush, that's not his first experience with God. That's not the first time he knows God because. Because again, we keep. We go back to what Stephen said before they stoned him. He said that Moses, suppose His brethren knew that he was their savior. Like, that's why he killed the Egyptians. Egyptian.
Matt
Damn good question.
David
He thought they were going to be like. He thought he was going to kill the Egyptian. They're gonna be like, dude, that's our guy. Let's go. We're out of here. No, he jumped a gun on God. 40 years. That's why I'm saying, like, you can't jump the gun on God, dude. You could. Like, like, you may know you have a calling on your life. It's like, just chill, though. Just chill for a minute. Let God unpack this thing for a minute. Don't. Don't be like, oh, I got this call in my life. I'm gonna go be a pastor of 501C3 next week.
Host
Week.
David
Just chill out for a minute. Just chill out. Let God be God. You don't know how he's going to do this. I know we live in a generation where you push the buttons on the microwave and the popcorn's ready in 30 seconds. I get it, I get it. Everything's quick now. But you got to let God let this thing unfold. Let him do it his way or you're going to screw the whole thing up.
Matt
Yep.
David
Maybe not even by doing a wrong thing, but doing it in the wrong time. You're jumping the gun on God like Moses did. That's the. Like, to me, that's like one of the big lessons from Moses,
Matt
man. And who knows? Who knows when it's when it's supposed to be? And who knows? Who knows if you're supposed to make that mistake?
David
Abraham, Same thing. They jumped the gun on God. You know, his wife comes in and says, hey, I think you should bone the Egyptian maid. And he says, honey, I think you're right.
Matt
That's a big mistake. Big mistake there. All right, another question here from. So, good question from beach boy that. That opened up some crazy doors, but Lisbee says I never hear anyone mention the recovery version Bible. I don't know what that is.
David
Is that a version for like 12 step people?
Matt
I don't know. It's what I have and grew up with. Any thoughts on it?
David
Recovery? I don't know. Let's pull it up.
Matt
Let's see what that is.
David
I'm guessing that's what it is, right? A recovery version Bible has got to be people who are coming out of drugs or alcohol or whatever. Like that's what the recovery is about. Or I don't know, maybe it's something totally different.
Matt
The recovery version is A modern English translation of the Bible from the original languages published by Living Stream Ministry.
David
I don't know anything about it.
Matt
It's published in 85 and more.
David
1985. I don't know anything about it.
Matt
And it was revised in 91.
David
That's pretty new to revise.
Matt
Yeah, it's generally considered an accurate, highly literal word for word translation. Yeah, but I haven't heard it. It wasn't on the chart either.
David
I don't know, but that. But if it works, then.
Matt
Oh, it says so. It's extensive footnotes reflect the specific theological teachings of local. The local church and its founders. Watchman Knee and Witness. Lee.
David
I love Watchman knee. I didn't know there. I didn't even know that existed. Watchman knee crushes Dude.
Host
Dude.
Matt
Yeah, so he's. He's referenced in their Watchman.
David
He talks a lot about the spirit of the word. I think he has a book even called the Spirit of the Word that like, you can't just do all this on intellect and just win debates based on the intellect of the cold, dead letter of the word. You have to understand the spirit of the word. It's the same thing we're talking about when we say, like, if somebody wants to talk about a thing and I'm like, let's talk on the phone. Because in text it's. This might get weird. There's some of this, you know, when you talk on text, you can't see how somebody's hands are moving. You can't see if they're smiling when they're saying something. You can't see, like, what their tone is. And so you got to understand the spirit of the word. So I don't know, maybe if the dude watched Mini kind of rolls that into it. I mean, he was gone a long time before 1985, though. I think he was gone before. He might have been alive in the 1900s. It might have been like in the 50s or 60s. I can't remember.
Matt
Oh, good question. It's. It seems like there's so many versions of the Bible that, like, you should read. And it's like, I don't know. I'm having trouble reading just through the one that I think is.
David
It's all good, though. It's like, is you got a Bible and that opens you up into this communication with God and you're asking him to reveal it to you. He will.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I guess we are time travelers. I. I put the wrong date. Today's the 6th. I'm just. I was excited about the 8th, because the 8th is of next month is going to be bohemian. Gross. I'm like, oh, we're almost a month away.
David
Let's go.
Matt
I think that's what I was thinking about. But yeah, today's definitely the sixth.
David
I feel like people aren't even excited for Bro Grove, dude. Like, I'm excited to meet people, but I don't even feel like there's anybody that's like hitting me up and saying they want to hang out. It's whatever. I don't care.
Matt
Yeah, let them get excited. We have some more questions, but from the nephilim death squad side, because I put. I put it up there too. Jin, Jenny asked, what extra biblical text do you recommend? This is a question that I know the answer to from Matt. What, if any, and why are they necessary? Extra biblical text. I think you, Matt is probably gonna reference you some, some of these, these other writers, more current writers. But I don't know if she's asking about apocryphal books or.
David
I'm just not a specialist on those, dude. Like I said, I've read Enoch a couple of times. It's been years since I read it, but it's a cool book. And I'm not, I'm not like a deep diver on extra biblical stuff other than like, I don't even know what you would call the class of dudes that I read. I don't even know what they would be considered. They're. To me, they're just, they're just like old time, old fashioned preachers. Like whether it's like Leonard Ravenhill, but this is probably totally not what they're talking about. They're looking for something that would be like, considered something similar almost to scripture, which these guys aren't writing something similar to scripture.
Matt
They might or might not be. I don't know, it's just extra.
David
Yeah, I would read like Leonard Ravenhill, G. Camel Morgan, Watchman Knee, Derek Prince Andrew Murray Spurgeon. And all these guys have different views on everything. So it's not like I'm just naming people that have my doctrine. Like, if all those guys are in the same room, they don't all have the same doctrine.
Matt
They'd be fighting.
David
But yeah, but they all seem to know God. Like, that's all I'm looking for is a dude who's writing who knows God. And if they have like different doctrines, that's okay. Man and his intellect comes to different understandings of doctrines. But like, the way they apply it to life is more important to Me, like, like, what does that doctrine do to their life? What's the application of it to their life?
Matt
Would you say it's necessary that. That's the second part of their question. Like, I think you're gonna say no, reading the Bible is necessary. But do you think for you, reading these dudes was necessary for understanding and becoming where you, like where you are now?
David
Yeah. Yeah. There's no way I'm at where I'm at now without that. That was actually one of my main problems when I left the 501C3 was I was like, like, what am I going to do now, God? Like, I know, I know I have a Bible and I know I have you, but like, I still want to be taught. Like you put apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists and teachers in the church. Like, like for, for all of us. Like, I still want somebody to teach me. Like, what do I do? And then that was one of the crazy things. Dude was like, a guy gave me a Paul Keith Davis CD set, maybe a DVD set. And I started listening to Paul Key Davis, a guy at church on a Friday night. Church at Lisbon Church of God. And I was listening to that or watching that. And then he taught. Then I went on his website and he had a A.W. tozer book. So I read the A.W. tozer book. Tozer. I saw maybe online or something. Say something about Raven Hill. Then I got Raven Hill book. Yeah. Paul Keith David. I actually love this guy.
Matt
I don't.
David
I haven't like followed him for some years now. And I'm sure he gets into some weird prophetic stuff that people are going to say, you know, whatever. But I, I always like this dude. I always, I always thought he was a good dud.
Matt
Reach out to him. You'll probably get him on the show.
David
Nah, I don't think so. This guy's like a big dog dude.
Matt
No, he's not. He's 50k. Who cares?
David
I don't know what that means, but 50, 000 followers? It's not that, but he's got a cool son. Caleb, I talked to a couple times because I would, I'd blow him up and like donate to them and buy stuff through them. And whenever I found like a legit ministry, I'd always support it like that. Same with. I bought all Raven Hill stuff. Derek Prince, we donated to not even that, but the G. Campbell Morgan guy got a bunch of stuff. Remember I wanted the computer so I could put that.
Matt
He's like, top, top, top. How do I open this PDF?
David
Wycliffe I always gave money to Wycliffe because that was their thing, too. Is this gospel. The kingdom shall be preached unto all the world as a witness, and then the end shall come. They were trying to get Bibles in all the languages on planet Earth. I was like, yeah, I want to be a part. I want in on that. I won't return on investment. I'll put my dollars towards that.
Matt
So you like that type of ministry of, like. What are they called?
David
I don't even know.
Matt
Missions. That's like. That's, like, mission missions.
David
Sure. Yeah. But I like teaching ministries, too. Stuff that taught me. That's what I'm saying. It's like, so Paul Keith Davis led to Tozer, Tozier led to Ravenhill. When you start reading Ravenhill, he starts naming everybody, dude. That's how I found, like, John Wesley, George Whitfield, Alexander White, G. Campbell Morgan found all these guys through Leonard Ravenhill initially. But then as those guys started to reference other people, then I would find stuff from there, and it just took off from there. So, yeah, I don't think I would be even. Even anywhere where I'm at today without finding those. Right. And I just. My heart just, like, was. Was knit to their heart, if you will. Like, it was just, like, I read these guys, and I was like, yes, this is what I'm not finding in the 501C3. Like, this is a depth that's being said here that's being unpacked in the word of God. It's making me understand the Bible more, and it's making me know God more.
Matt
But aren't these guys in the 501C3? In a way?
David
Yeah. These guys all came from the. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some of them even, like, the Catholic system, and some of them, like, came out of Catholic. They're, like, part of the reformed thing, but they're still, like, baptizing babies and still. Yeah, yeah. Like, that's the wild thing, dude. It's like. Especially in that day. Like, how would their voice get out there? There wasn't podcast. They had to be a part of something, right? Yeah. And they had to have, like, a local church that they were preaching to. So, yeah, I'm not. I'm not saying that. And those guys would all say, like, you have to be in that system. Those guys, the old timers, would all say that. That. I don't know if they would still say that today. I've questioned that a lot, actually. Like, would those guys, if they saw the apostasy of this system today, Would they want any affiliation with it? And I think no. I think when you look at how Ravenhill railed on that system in his day, and that was 50 years ago. If he was alive today. Be like, f that system, dude. I don't want anything to do with that apostasy system. That's what. That's what I think a lot of those OGs would say today. Even though in the day they lived in, it wasn't that corrupt, corrupted. It was still like, local congregations. It wasn't blowing up on tv. You could. You couldn't get that much money. You can only get whatever money was, like, in your local congregation. So I think that. That, like, not that you couldn't have a wicked heart that desired that, but. But you couldn't actually accumulate that except for, like, your little village there.
Matt
Yeah.
David
So I. So I don't know, dude. It's a loaded thing. But, like, there's great men of God who have come before us and laid it down, dude. And some of that stuff you read and you hear them and your heart is just bound to their heart, dude. You're like, these are people that I'm in the fight with. This is that cloud of witnesses potentially. Like, these are dudes that, like, they've been in the game. They know God. They're helping me, know God. They're pushing me. This is who I would rather compare myself to than, like, the local people today. And just like, the shallow, weak preaching that you hear on Sunday morning, it's like, I can never go back to that. I'm just wasting my time because it's just so unsatisfied buying.
Matt
So this will probably be, like, leading into some of the things that we do. Maybe we'll get a little bit away from Q&As so much. But what we should do.
David
No, what we should do. I love the Q and A's, dude.
Matt
What we should do is dissect some of these. These guys. Some of the guys that you found.
David
You're still in this thing. I forget what they call it, but where there's only two choices. We're like, we shouldn't really be Democrats anymore, so we have to be Republicans. But I'm saying, okay, let's do some of these book reviews. But we could still do the Q A.
Matt
No, no, no. Make them. Make them beg for it.
David
Okay, I see you make them beg for it. If they really handle loves Q a,
Matt
it's like 700 people in here, so I guess they do like it.
David
Loves Derek Prince, Love Jesus forever. Loves G. Campbell Morgan.
Matt
You know what it is, man? It's just what it. What it comes down to. It just comes down to time. So, like, that's why I was thinking,
David
yeah, you guys, all night. I watch. I read the stuff from the OG
Matt
I'm talking about recording time. So, sorry, we got to do some of those book reviews or at least, like, dissections of these books.
David
Dude. I'll just bring in a book that I read, that I've underlined everything, and I'll just open it up and read through it.
Matt
Yeah, that's. Well, we. We should do some episodes like that, and if they.
David
I don't think that people would like that. Dude, that's the thing.
Matt
They're asking about it.
David
No, they're saying they want. They want more Q&As. They're not saying, oh, yeah, read us the G. Campbell Morgan book or read us the Derek Prince book.
Matt
Shout out to anchovy apostle. We have a question from him right now.
David
It was a great. It was a great point he made about the time machine. And, you know, I'm a sucker for anything, literally.
Matt
You could just. That's not. It's actually not fair what you did. So he said, Anchovy apostle says the Synoptic gospel say Jesus was crucified on the first day of Passover. Nissan 15. I don't drive a Nissan. I don't think they're good cars. John's gospel says it was the day before. Nissan 14. Often cited as a contradiction by haters. How would you assuage them?
David
I don't know. What's the. I don't know what the other gospels are called. What do you call them?
Matt
The Synoptic.
David
I don't know. Oh, okay. He's saying in Matthew, Mark and Luke are saying that. That what now? That he was crucified on what day?
Matt
The day before. Hold on. Sorry.
David
I don't know. My take has always been this. He said, as Jonah was in the belly of the wheel. Three days and three nights. Panda, I'll do it on Raven Hill. So when they get. When they get to the tomb. Sunday morning, the first day of the week, at sunrise, he's already gone. He doesn't. He doesn't rise. Sunday morning, he's already gone. He's crucified in the, like, afternoon, evening. Ish. I don't know. Somebody can probably pull it up. I don't know if it's like 3pm somewhere from 3pm to 5 or 6pm he's. He's. He's crucified at that time.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Goes in the tomb. Like, let's just say the evening.
Matt
It's like a nine hour process. Right. Or less than that, I don't know.
David
But it's like in the evening.
Matt
Okay.
David
Going into night, potentially by the time Nicodemus and Joseph Arimathea, you know, get his body back, wrap him up, get him in the tomb. If he's three days and three nights in there, I don't do the whole. That was Friday night. Then he's there all day Saturday. Then he comes out Sunday morning. I don't, I don't do that because that's not three days and three nights and he's already gone Sunday morning. That's why I don't do that. That's why I don't think that timeline is accurate. What I do think is it's like Wednesday afternoon evening till Thursday, Friday, Saturday, which is, which is the Sabbath. Saturday's the Sabbath, so nobody's around. So when he gets out Saturday, you know, three full days and nights later, afternoon, evening, whatever, he could have been doing anything. He could do whatever he wants that night. By the time they get there Sunday morning, he's already gone. Right? Right. I don't know what he was doing all night. Like he can do whatever he wants. But that's how I look at the timeline and I think it gets a little funny. I don't think they say anything different. I think that they say, say that it was the day before the Sabbath, the preparation day. It's not saying the day before Saturday. It's saying the day before that Sabbath holiday, that holiday, that, that Jewish feast, that appointed time, that appointed day. I think it must be John's gospel that says before the Sabbath. It's not referring to Saturday, it's referring to Passover. And that's why it was a preparation day. As far as I know, they didn't call Friday the preparation day for the Sabbath. So it's called a preparation day because it's a Sabbath feast day, not. Not a Sabbath Saturday. So maybe that's where people say they're saying different contradictions or different days.
Matt
He's saying that people just point to it as a contradiction and to prove the Bible false. I don't know, I gotta.
David
I don't think it is, man. I think it's. I think that they're. Like I said, I think where it gets screwy is where it says that it was the day before the Sabbath day. They assume that means the Saturday.
Host
Huh.
Matt
Still Reserve says he saw a breakdown. How they. Of how they start counting the days, starting on the evenings. I've seen something similar to this as well.
David
Yeah, but it's still got to be three days and three nights. Right, Right. That's fair. That, like, their day starts in the evening. That's. Yeah, I'm with that. But still got to be three days and three nights. He said the same way Jonah was in the belly of the whale. Three days and three nights. That's my take if I get to heaven. And God's like, nah, bro. It was Friday night, Saturday, and he rose Sunday morning. Then I. He's gonna be like, well, whatever. I saw what you were doing there, and you tried to figure it, the scripture, so good job.
Matt
Yeah.
David
You know, but that's. But that's just how I look at it. Yeah. The evening and the morning were the first. So they start the day basically in the evening.
Matt
Okay. All right. Interesting question, man. Thanks for the question.
David
No, thank you.
Matt
We have a couple more. Joel Wells says, heavy question. My partner and I had a stillbirth in March with our first pregnancy. And four years ago, my sister said to me during a big fight.
David
Hold on, hold on, hold on. Stillbirth is when the baby's born. It's already. Yeah. Passed. How long ago? What did he say? In March, So only a couple months ago.
Matt
Months ago.
David
Okay. I'm tracking.
Matt
Four years ago, my sister said to me during a big fight that she hopes we have a stillbirth one day. Oh. Ever since this happened, we've had a hard time being around her, even though over the last few years, she has been removing some of the darkness inside of her. Her. Tried giving her more. Tried giving more context before, but the question was too long, and I apologize for that. I must have missed that question.
David
How do we find the rest of that question?
Matt
Oh, boy.
David
But what is the question? Did that curse take place? Is that what he's saying?
Matt
This is a Q A, so I assume this is a question. I don't. It's not really, like, shaped like a question here. I think he's. Yeah. He's asking, like, yo, you think anything. This has to do with anything? I think. I think when you speak curses on somebody, that's like.
David
It can carry weight. But I'm not saying that she had the power and authority to do that, but we know that, like, demons can f around and cause problems, and I don't know enough about it, but if it was me, I would just call the sister and tell her I love her.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah.
David
Like, hey, whatever. This was like, I Don't know how our relationship got so far off track back to where it got to the point where you would say that to me, but I just want you to know I love you.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah. I'd also say.
David
And I hope that never happens to you.
Matt
I suggest nobody don't say that. Like, just be careful with the things.
David
She probably feels awful. The sister probably. There's probably no chance that the sister's like, yeah, that's what you get. Sister probably wept her eyes out. If you think about how human nature works.
Matt
Yeah, she probably, like, you don't actually want probably.
David
No, you just say the meanest thing, and it'll. Argument. I know that. I'm familiar with that. You say the meanest thing.
Matt
Me too.
David
And if it wasn't mean enough, you come back in the room even after the fight's over and say something even meaner. You know, like, that's just. That's the terrible thing about when our heart goes into anger is you try to say, like, the meanest thing you can think of, dude. And then if it doesn't make enough of them, like, break them down, then you're like, I'm gonna say something even meaner next time I come in the room. And it's awful. It's a bottomless pit.
Matt
Yeah, you win the. You win the war. I mean, I. I've done it a bunch of times, and it's like. But like, to that level, I think you just got to catch yourself when you're.
David
When you're getting hard, you don't want to catch yourself. Like, you even know. You know you should not be. But you. You just want to say the meanest thing. It's only later when you come to yourself where you're like, I gotta go apologize, man. Like, I don't know what I just did.
Matt
We were listening to.
David
It's almost like on meth, dude. It's almost. You just turn into a monster. You turn into another person. You start to lose your mind and hand yourself over to these emotions and this anger, and you. And you flash, and it just. You. It can't. It can never be satisfied. There's nothing you could say mean enough that would satisfy you to the point where you're praying a curse on your own brother.
Matt
Well, Jesus told a parable about this. It's interesting because it. The pastor this week in church was going through the prodigal son parable, and he. He was bringing up some interesting points. Like, in Jewish culture, when you ask for your inheritance before the father is. Is dead in A sense. It's almost like telling him, like, I wish. Yeah, you're dead to me. I wish you were dead.
David
Yeah.
Matt
And the father, what he does is still gives the son this inheritance for him to spoil it. And then after everybody knows the story, after he's done that, he still welcomes him back.
David
I'm giving my kids inheritance before I go, dude.
Matt
Yeah, it'd be nice to see.
David
Yo. Give me a little shack on the side of your house. And here you could have all my money.
Host
Money.
David
Just make sure that I'm okay. Like, check on me once in a while.
Matt
I squandered my inheritance already. You did.
David
The anchovy apostle, he knows what's up. A stillbirth has never sinned. Some comfort. That's how. Yeah, let's look on the bright side, dude. Like, that's this terrible thing. But just like David said, isn't it wild? We just read the story of David's child.
Matt
Yeah.
David
And David said, I will go be with him.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. I don't know. I think so. For Joel, like, the. The right thing to do. Jesus's message was he's talking about the Father and like the grace that the father gave, that gave his son, who. Who looked him in the eyes and basically said, I wish you were dead.
David
He said, I get it though, man. I've been. I've been your age before. I know how. I know how ugly the human heart can get it.
Matt
He invited you. He invited him back in. That's. That's probably the lesson there.
David
And I get it. I mean, imagine your kid says the meanest, craziest thing to you. You're. I'm. Whenever, like your sister say, I mean, yeah, I just go, I get it. It's tough in the earth, right. Realm. Like, I don't know what they're going through that made them say that. They don't really mean that. They just. Something's happened that caused them some kind of stir of emotions that they said the meanest thing possible.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Makes me hate Satan. It makes me hate demons. It makes me be at war with that realm.
Matt
But it also makes you think about the. The way in which the father, like. Because the father doesn't just go. He doesn't go through those emotions. When the son comes back, he runs out together. Him. Yeah, he's. He's like elated.
David
Looking for him.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
David
He's like, I know one of these days he's coming home.
Matt
I think that's how you should treat your sister here.
David
Amen.
Matt
It's Hard to do. That sucks. But, yeah, that's the. That's the way we're supposed to option.
David
What's the other option? Let this thing spiral out of control where we both hate each other the rest of our life? That's our only option.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Yeah, sister. I look forward to you holding my baby when it. When our baby is born one day.
Matt
Yeah. Play it out. Right? That's how. That's. I got to do it. Play it out in the future, see how that works out.
Host
Out.
Matt
Because there. There are two ways you can go there. You can hold this.
David
That's not gonna do. No, you can't hold it. It'll destroy you.
Matt
You can.
David
No, you can't. It'll destroy you. You could do that, but it'll kill you.
Matt
But it'll kill you. Or you could be smart and not kill yourself.
David
And those scenarios are the ones where you have to take it to God and say, God, what do you want to do with this? And I know for me, I'm probably a little bit of a. About it when I take it to God. And so I found myself in scenarios. Not that. Not that scenario, but some scenarios where I'm like, God, this is so wrong what's been done to me. Yeah. And I think I do it in such, like, a way that God's like, oh, you poor baby. Did you see what they did to me when I was down there?
Matt
Yeah.
David
Did you see. Yeah. You didn't. You didn't see this comment. So I'm not applying that to this story. I'm not saying it's that God would ever say that according to this story. But I'm just saying that to say sometimes we need context for, like, this is how dirty they did. Jesus. We have to be ready to know that people are going to do us dirty. And the most dirty is it's your closest loved ones that do it. That's the hardest thing to live through, but unfortunately, that's who normally does it.
Matt
That sucks, dude. But all right, we got one more question.
David
That's it.
Matt
That's it. Yeah. I mean, there's a question only 20 minutes in, man. Let's read one question in the chat, then before we go.
David
We're not gonna go, dude. We got at least another hour. Why are you always in a rush with the Q A, dude?
Matt
Dude, somebody asked an interesting question here.
David
People like this, dude. Let's keep going.
Matt
People don't like this. They. They were asking for the Raven Hill breakdown. You didn't see them.
David
We'll do that, too. I mean, I. Dude, I got Raven Hill's biography that crushes. But then I got his stuff that, like, he wrote, you know, the biography somebody wrote about him and his life and his story, which is rad. It's got all his famous quotes in it and stuff. But we can do that or we can do Meat for Men. America's too young to die. Why Revival terries like. Like, Raven Hill's got bangers, dude.
Matt
Psalm 40 said. Do you think Esau despising his birthright was a dis on his dad, like the prodigal son in the inheritance?
David
Do you think Esau despising birth? Was it just. No, I just think he was a guy consumed with the loss of the natural realm, man. I. I mean, and maybe people are like, that's not that deep. There's something way deeper with Esau because he was the boogeyman or the.
Matt
It was Bigfoot.
David
Bigfoot. Which I. Which I'm not knocking that he could have been Bigfoot too. But I think at the core of that is that he was willing to sacrifice eternity for things in the natural realm, for his carnal nature. Where else does it talk about that? Talks about that somewhere. But. But nevertheless, like, you know, God says, jacob, have I loved, but Esau have I hated. But God goes in and destroys Nephilim before Esau is descendants, too, and gives them land. He gives them specific land. So we just got to take that with a grain of salt when he says, jacob have I loved, and Esau have I hated. You know, what the. What? Like, it's almost like in the same way where Jesus says, if any man doesn't hate mother, father, sister, brother in his own life, he can't be my disciple. Is like, saying, like, in relation to how much he loves me. It's like hate for anyone else. It's almost like God was saying that with Esau and Jacob. Like, as much as I love Jacob, it's like hatred for Esau, but he did. But he definitely despised him because he despised his birthright. He despised eternal things. He despised stuff for what he could have in the moment, what mattered to him right now. And I know people have different takes on that, and people might think that's a shallow take. That's still my take on that, though. Is that like. Is it like. It's a warning to everybody for having no concept of, like, the generations to come, the generations that come after you, your birthright, Things are going to matter for eternity. Maybe that's why I'll grow a food forest, because I'm thinking about generations to come. I want to bless them. Not just how much fun can I have this weekend? But like, what if I plant a fruit tree this weekend that somebody's eating in 50 years from now? I don't know. That's my take on it.
Matt
Yeah. High time preference. So wife guy says white guy. Wife guy. Oh, my wife. Does God.
David
Make sure we get Parker Morris question too.
Matt
Yeah, I'm looking for that. Does God love Lucifer and does God rank sin or two? Two questions.
David
He definitely ranks sin, right?
Matt
There's actually some more questions.
David
Paul said that dude that's boning his dad's wife in the Corinthian church. Get him out of the church. He didn't say everybody sitting in the church. Get him out, he said. But that guy boning his dad's wife, he's got to go. He's got to go because that's going to spread. You can't have sexual perversion, Parker.
Matt
Did you leave it in the straight Bible chat or did you put it in the. The nephilim desk? Because there's questions all over. Over the place here now and then,
David
so. Yeah. So does he love Satan? I don't know. That word's a loaded statement. He's at war with Satan. Not that there's any comparison. It's not like Satan has a chance in the war against God, but they have two separate kingdoms that we unpacked last week. Yeah. And so he's an enemy. So. And his destiny is already told. He's going to get thrown in the lake of fire. Like we know that about him. So I don't know. I don't know if I would ever get hung up on whether God loves him or not. I don't know. That's not something I would really think about for me personally. I don't know.
Matt
A good question is, does God love the angels around him or are they just doing what he says?
David
Of course he loves them. No, those angels can sin against them. What are you talking about? Angels rebelled against him.
Matt
I'm not saying that.
David
Some of them chose to rebel against him and some of them remained loyal. Loyal.
Matt
Yeah. I don't know. It just seems like they're more of. It's like more of a business relationship with these guys. Like they just do what he says and then when they don't, they're out.
David
Yeah. Yeah. Because there's no descendant of angels that came and died for them. Right. There's a descendant of Adam that came and died for us.
Matt
It's like your employee versus your kid.
David
No, no, no. They're sons of God. They're direct creations of God. Shout out Timothy Alvarino. They're called the elder brother race.
Matt
We're not doing that. That. I'm not doing this.
David
Yeah, you've got to hang up with angels that like, that God didn't die for them. It's a wonderful observation, though. You're like, when the angels sin, they're out. They're out.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Man can sin and still has a way back to God. God has a way for his outcast to come back to him. Whereas with the angels, when they're out, they're out. You're right. That's a wonderful observation.
Matt
It's just a different relationship between them. So I don't even know.
Host
I don't know.
David
What if they're looking at God and know him that. That close? He's like, yeah, there's. There's no room for you rejecting me. Like, we're like, we're standing here talking, looking at each other, talking. You reject me in that form? Like, no, there's no chance. If you're a human and you're born in sin and the whole thing's crazy down there and you reject me. Yeah, no kidding. That's what people do. But I'll. But I'll give you a way to get back to me.
Matt
I feel. Yeah, I feel like it's just a different word for love. Like, for that type of relationship. It's. It's a. It's a strange one. We don't. We. We can't experience anything like that. So I don't even know where I. Where I begin to, like, unpack that. But anyway, what was the question there? I forgot the question.
David
He sent it to Straight Bible. Oh, I don't know. What was the question? Yeah, wait, because I know you said you wanted to answer a couple questions without me in the room.
Matt
This is God Sin.
David
Yeah. Ed was talking about how certain people have greater damnation. Like. Like Jesus tells people, you guys, you know, steal a widow's house, and for a pretense, you make a long prayer, therefore you'll have a greater damnation. And then like we said, like, in the Corinthian church, there was a dude boning his dad's wife. He said, that guy has to get out of the church. Right. All sins aren't the same like that. The wages of sin is death. So in that sense, people want to argue that. I'm doing finger quotes. All sins are the same until you're born again. But, like, like, so in that sense, like, all sins, you're.
Host
Are.
David
You're separated from God in that state. But, like, clearly there's.
Matt
Yeah, clearly severity to certain.
David
Of course there is.
Matt
Otherwise, murder is the same thing as jaywalking.
David
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. All right.
Host
Go.
Matt
Go to the bathroom.
David
I'll.
Matt
I'll.
David
No, I just know it's not because I have to go to the bathroom. It's just. I knew that you wanted to say stuff without me, so go ahead. I'll be like, five seconds.
Matt
He's got to go to the bathroom. Chris Krueger in the Straight Bible Chat says Matt's new mic stand. Well, let me put this on here, because Matt's gone. Matt's new mic stand. Here, take a look at Matt's new mic stand. And then look at mine. Look at this. And you see Matt's nice, fancy one. He bought one for himself. Is that Christ? Like, I don't know. Now we're working out. We're going to get another one for me, too. I think this is like a. Be a cool little addition, a little change to what we're doing here. All right, let's see. See if we get any more questions. Idaho hermit asks about, what's your thought on purgatory? Scripture seems to talk about some kind of holding place. Is this where purgatory, the purgatory theory comes from? Is purgatory a Catholic thing? Subject is very new to me. So what I think you're talking about is the idea of Abraham's bosom. It's like it. That. That is a holding place until Jesus Christ comes. Let me turn this off because it's going to Matt's empty chair. Oh, Qui Gon asked, do we need money? No, no. I just thought that he'd get. I thought he'd get it for me, but he decided he wanted to get it for himself. Now, the truth is, I saw this thing here that he has, and he was like, he wants that so that way he can read the Bible without this mic stand, like, bumping into it. It was hard for him. And he's like, oh, should I get two of them? And I was like, no, no, I don't want. I don't know if I want that one here because it's kind of, like, big. It might be in the way of the skull and, like, you know, just kind of clunky. But now that I see him with it, I'm like, yeah, that thing's actually kind of cool. I think I want that. So he's gonna. He ordered one. It'll come here in a. In a couple of days or so. But the idea of purgatory, or we're talking about. Of. We're talking about. About Abraham's bosom and sheol.
David
Right.
Matt
Like, Matt, they're asking about the idea of purgatory being a holding place. Is it just a Catholic thing? And I think it relates to Abraham's bosom and shield. But then after Jesus Christ comes, we're under a new paradigm here.
David
Yeah.
Matt
So.
David
Well, you can't talk about purgatory without talking about indulgences. Right. Like that. Like that's where the.
Matt
That's true as well. Yeah.
David
Now you can't really even have that conversation if you're going to use the. The word purgatory. Is it accurate to say that there's like a holding place until everything gets thrown in the lake of fire one day? Sure, sure.
Matt
People are not happy about the mic stand. Somebody asked a question about your mic stand. I don't have one. No, no. They just ask me. So I explained to them what's wrong
David
with the mic stand.
Matt
No, they like. They think it's great. They think it's great.
David
Qui. Gon. Do you need money?
Matt
Do we need money? Yeah. Because, you know, we can only afford one mic stand right now.
David
Yeah. You can't. You can't have this discussion about purgatory without indulgences. Right. That was where, like, the Catholic system created this thing called indulgences where they could. You could buy your dead loved ones out of purgatory.
Matt
But is it based off the idea of Abraham's bosom and sheol, where, like, it is this temporary, like a placeholder until Jesus comes and, you know, defeats.
David
Well, even now that Jesus has come, there's going to be a new heavens and a new earth, like, and. And then hell is going to get thrown in the lake of fire. So everything's going to be a new thing. Thing, ultimately one.
Matt
So where do people go? It's. Again, where do you go?
David
Holding tank. But it's never called purgatory. And there's never a concept that, like, find your way out or death. You could get out. Like, it's appointed to. Man wants to die. And after that, the judgment, like, that's it. There's nothing you can do after your life to change the judgment of what you've done in this life.
Matt
Right, right, right. I'm kind of a fan of the idea of when you die, everybody kind of comes to at the judgment seat because now we're on the other side of the realm we're no longer. Who knows? Physical realm.
David
Who knows, maybe that the time. Somebody who died 500 years ago, the time between that and the judgment seat is like that. I don't know. I don't know. That's what I'm saying. It's like I. I don't really know.
Matt
In a sense, you'd be removed outside of time anyway, Right? So who's to say? Yeah. Is there any waiting or did they just go there? Have they already? I don't know.
David
Know.
Matt
I have no idea. What are you gonna read?
David
I don't know. Where are you at?
Matt
All right, let's see. Boom. We'll read. We have a couple more questions. Turtle. Turtle bro, man says, does God love barbecue? I always think about this when I drive by a restaurant. Smoking meat and pleasing aroma. Straight Bible is the best. That is actually a legit valid point.
David
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, barbecue is about the best place you can eat if you're gonna go out to eat. Like, going out to eat is just rough now, dude. You're getting very little food for a ton of money. And it's probably going to be cooked in seed oils. Whereas, like, barbecue is probably just smoked in a smoker. They're not adding much to it, maybe. Especially if, you know, it's a dry rub. Still easy on the barbecue sauce because it's probably loaded with sugar.
Matt
Burger. I don't think God was slow cooking his stuff, though.
David
I think it seemed fast cooked.
Matt
It seemed like he was just burning it up. So I don't know. I don't know why it still reserves.
David
Said McDonald's is 15 to get a meal. But here's the crazy thing. When the kids hear. They said that to me, and I said, okay, cool. So you just. You just left. No, no, I still got it. Anyway, I'm like, that's the difference between the young generation and the older. Like, our generation is like, something can only cost so much and then. I'm not buying it. The younger generation is like. Like, I don't care what the cost is. If McDonald's goes to 40 bucks, I'm still buying it because that's what I want to eat.
Matt
I'm not gonna lie. I'm sympathetic to the idea.
David
Well, you're wealthy. That's different. They're not.
Matt
No, not about the money. I understand. Listen, coming from New York, I know what good pizza is, right?
David
Yeah, but it's a buck a slice. That's the other thing.
Matt
No, it's not. 325 a slice in New York, if you're eating the dollar pizza, you might as well eat Domino's.
David
No, I'll eat the $50 pizza in New York.
Matt
Yeah, yeah. See, you're doing all the wrong moves, playboy. No, you gotta go to Pizza Wagon. They've been years. It's 325. Pay a little bit. Here's the point. Sometimes I want to get pizza and I want real pizza, right? So I'll go there and I'll get my pie from, like, the fresh Store. Sometimes I want garbage. Like, not garbage, but you want Domino's. Because Domino's is pizza. But it's not pizza, it's Domino's. You know what I'm saying? Sometimes you want a good burger, so you go. You make yourself a burger. You go to a really good burger spot. Sometimes you want slop. Yeah, you love that. No, McDonald's isn't even a burger. It's not food. It's another thing. Yeah, yeah, but sometimes people want that. So I get why you would do it, but you shouldn't.
David
Dude, I. I think the last food I ever ate was Taco Bell when I was on the road. Last fast food, I was on the road and starving, and I was like, I have to get something.
Matt
Is Taco Bell Mexican food? No, exactly. But it's in the shape of. Right. But it's nothing about it.
David
No, like, Mexican. I don't know any Mexicans that make burritos. I don't. I've never known any Mexican people that, like, you go to their house and like, yeah, we're having burritos. This is like California white people make burritos.
Matt
But, like, Mexican places are just the biggest scam in the world because it's all the same thing. Just.
Host
Just.
Matt
Is it rolled or is it on
David
a flat into that Asian stuff's kind of like that, too. I mean, all the food is kind of like that. But, dude, I ate that Taco Bell and I hadn't ate fast food even for, like, a long time at that time. And the next day I was craving Taco Bell.
Matt
Yeah, dude.
David
I was like, something is not right, dude. Something is not right.
Matt
But you understand. You understand, like, what it is. Like, you can get a really good healthy.
David
It's just dangerous because you're going to be hooked on it. Even Chick Fil A, they say there's like 50 chemicals in that chicken sandwich, but five of them are just in it to get you hooked. They're not like, some of them for texture. Some are for flavor. Some are first, like, sweetness but there's like five chemicals in it that are just there to get you hooked. That's the only reason it's in it.
Matt
I'm just saying I understand why. This is why I got, like, a lot.
David
Don't trust the world system.
Matt
That's why I got a lot of guitars. Some days you wake up, you want to play a Strat, and some days you go a little something different.
David
Dog, you big dogging it.
Matt
No, no, but I get it. Just don't eat that crap. Okay? How tall do you think Goliath was? I don't know, nine feet?
David
Where did Qui Gon have Wagman's?
Matt
Wegmans.
David
He never had Wagman. Oh, you don't know. It's a New York thing.
Matt
You wouldn't know Wagman's. I've seen it up here. They got one up here. Right down here.
David
No, they don't.
Matt
I think. I think they do. I've seen that before. I don't know. Goliath was about nine feet tall.
David
So.
Matt
So they say, but who knows? Big, pretty big farm. And faith says. So I thought more about my question regarding Genesis 18:19, where the Lord and the two angels appear to as men to Abraham in Luke 24:39, where Jesus says, a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have. Then I was reading John 8:37, 40, and John 8:56 through 59. Jesus tells the Jews, you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
Host
Huh.
Matt
A few. A few verses later, he says, your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. And he saw it, and it was glad. And then before Abraham was, I am so I, I. It's not a question, but.
David
But how is he tying all those together? I don't know. So Abraham, we just work backwards.
Matt
Do you think Jesus is pointing back to Abraham's encounter with the lord in Genesis 18?
David
Potentially, yeah. But. But more than that, just knowing that the day of the Messiah was coming, that one day he was going to manifest all those dudes. My take is that like all humans throughout any time period are saved by grace through faith in the Messiah. We look back at the cross, but they looked forward to. To it. But like all. Everybody on planet Earth is saved by grace through faith. So specifically from Abraham's lineage, they were looking. They were looking forward to the Messiah. And so that's what he's saying. He said, Abraham knew about my day, and he was glad about that. He knew this day was Coming. But here I am. And you guys claim to be, you know, descendants of Abraham. You claim to be from the line of Moses and you guys are trying to kill, kill me. You guys don't even know what you're talking about. You just got a religious institution that claims to represent me and you're making tons of money off it. You're controlling the people. Let's call spade a spade. That's what he's saying to him. Yeah, but like the real ones who you claim to represent, they, they love to think about my day. They love to think about me this day that I was finally going to show up. What, what's the deep thought about?
Matt
No, so I, I guess the question he's asking was, did. So you're saying that when, when Abraham met with the angels and God, he told them about Jesus at, during that meeting.
David
Or maybe that potentially is Jesus. That like when, you know, it says the Lord showed up and two angels with him, I think is what it says. Like, yeah, maybe that's Jesus. Maybe who Adam's talking to in the garden is Jesus. Maybe Moses at the burning bush. Maybe that's Jesus in the, in that burning bush. Maybe Joshua a couple chapters later when he. Or the next book. Anyway, when the angel of the Lord shows up and Joshua bows to him. Maybe that's Jesus, the Lord of Heaven's armies. I don't know. There's an interesting thought. Maybe when, like we read in Daniel where Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego get thrown in the fiery furnace, they say, oh King, we're not even careful to answer you. You could throw us in there. There our God can save us. But even if he doesn't, he's still our God. And then is it Nebuchadnezzar looks in there and says, I thought we threw three in. How come there's four walking around in the fire? Maybe that was Jesus walking around in the fire who. Somebody earlier said, God is an all consuming fire. Maybe that's why that all consuming fire was walking around the fire then. So the natural fire didn't even touch the boys. Like they weren't even touched. Their hair didn't burn, didn't smell, their clothes weren't burnt. I don't know.
Host
Know.
Matt
Yeah, a lot. There's a lot of like, strange, obviously strange things that happen in the Bible. But it's crazy that they're.
David
Yeah, but if they looked at our day, they'd say, wow, this is strange, man. These guys eat all their food at McDonald's. Chick fil a well, that's strange. That's a Christian company, but they put chemicals in their food to get you addicted to it. Wow, what a strange day to live in, you know what I'm saying? We have this tendency to, like, read the Bible and be like, oh, man, Noah's Day was so crazy.
Matt
I just mean this is strange because this is. This seems like a pivotal moment where I guess Abraham had a choice again. But, like, this doesn't happen very often where, like, that's like a big moment in the Bible of, like, we're going to establish this nation through you. And, like, God and, And his angels are there. Maybe Jesus Christ is like, you're not saying no. Like, this is kind of. This is a big deal. I don't think you stray away from this moment in the Bible. Like, I don't think. Think. I don't know. Did Abraham have a chance to, like, say, say no?
David
Of course. Why do we keep. How is this possible? We keep coming back to where, like, oh, no.
Matt
It's a very interesting question.
David
No, dude, the story of Balaam could have been a totally different story. Instead, the story of Balaam is a guy who went away from God. He knew God's voice, he communicated with God, and he still sold God out and went away with him for money. Baylock had hired him to curse Israel. He couldn't curse Israel because they were God's chosen. That's what he said, says. That's what he says when he, when he does that, when he tries to do this curse on Israel, he can't curse him. He can only bless them. You go a couple chapters later, he taught Baylock like, hey, if we send some hoes in there from Moab, the boys from Israel, they're gonna. They're gonna want to, like, hook up with these chicks, and next thing you know, we'll have them sinning against God. And so he. So he works with Balak to send the Moabite women in there to cause them to sin against God for God to curse him. That way, Balaam goes astray from God. God, like. Like, there's Solomon goes astray from God. Judas goes astray from God. Like, we have the stories of the people who go astray from God. It's just so. I don't know why we're like, oh, no, Abraham could. It could never be any different.
Matt
It's not that different.
David
One is tricky because there is an un. There is. It does appear to be, like, an unconditional covenant with Abraham. And I think that's what I Mean,
Matt
this is the biggest, one of the biggest deals in the Bible. That's like, that's like a big pin in the Bible that doesn't happen and maybe you choose somebody else. But. And it also begs the question of like stuff like this happen still today. I mean, yeah, God is doing stuff today, but like, like this, Is he still doing stuff like this today? Because this is a big deal.
David
I mean, it's not going in the scripture. But I don't know. When I first started reading the Bible, that was one of my first thoughts. Reading the Bible was like, yo, I gotta find the dudes on the earth that are doing this today. It never crossed my mind, like the first time I heard somebody say like, oh no, the stuff in the Bible and like the supernatural or the gifts or any of stuff. The stuff, yeah, that's not for today. I remember being like, come again? Like what? Like so what? So what's for today? Like what? Like, like if this is the whole Bible and it tells us the story of life and it's not for today, then like what's for today? And then they're like, well, the 501C3 system where you give all your money and it looks just like an American business, but you don't have to pay taxes. It can't be that.
Matt
There's stuff that moves today. People are, their lives are changed. There's, there's miracles, there's healing, there's all kinds of stuff happening. But that stuff is like super light fight compared to an everlasting promise with everybody in your generation. That's crazy. That doesn't ha it. I mean, I don't know if, and if it did happen, it would be heresy today. Like we would. The first thing I would do, somebody
David
told me it's going to be part of the story today, but I don't think it's any less.
Matt
How do we know? How do you know?
David
Like, because we know he's not gonna just hit. Because we already know.
Matt
No, no, I'm not saying that. Not the exact thing. Not like, like, okay, if we get the Jews, like we're not replacement theology. But I'm just saying like something really huge today from God to like bestowed on a person. If somebody tells you that today, like your immediate reaction. My immediate reaction is go, okay, well no, let's see. Yeah, I'm very suspicious.
David
Yeah, let's see what happens next. That's all.
Matt
Yeah, but those, those kind of people, I mean, almost 100 of the time I got a message from God and I'm supposed to change the world and do a thing and you'll like.
David
Yeah, yeah.
Matt
There's a.
David
There's a real easy way to know if it's real or not. Are they asking for money? What do you go. Stop laughing. Like, that's like, as soon as a guy's like, I'm an apostle, this and that, and then you watch what he's doing, and then he says, oh, yeah, send us your money. Like, I don't know, man. Wait, so you. So you hold all the keys to the mysteries of the universe and you're begging for my money? Like, what do you. Like, what do you need money for? Like, I don't. It just seems a little weird. Seems a little strange, man.
Matt
Maybe, maybe. But also, like, are you, you know, entertaining angels unaware?
David
What do you mean?
Matt
I don't know. Maybe, like, in this story specifically, he fed. He fed these guys.
David
Yeah, they can eat, but that's not.
Matt
It's not money, but it's like mana is angel food.
David
Like that. Like, they. Like the manna came from heaven. Not to bust up what we're going to talk about tomorrow.
Matt
Well, what I'm saying, give us to
David
say our daily bread. We're going to unpack that at stray. But Bible tomorrow morning.
Matt
God didn't come by begging, but, like, there still is an exchange of, like, an earthly thing.
David
Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's nothing wrong with the exchange of even of money. It's when you're begging for people money or you do a whole sermon and then the. And then the whole punch line at the end is, send me your money. So many sermons I've watched on TV where I was really tracking with and had a notepad and really learned a lot from. And it got to the end, and it was all an elaborate plot to get people to send their money in. I was like, oh, no, man. Terrible.
Matt
So that's 99 of the stuff.
David
Well, yeah. That we see on TV, though. I mean, like, the real ones are probably not on the Facebook or the tv or, like, they're not. They're not on tbn, you know? You know what I'm saying?
Matt
Like, I think another one of these moments that will. Maybe we'll see it or not, depending on if we're in the right timeline and depending on how it goes when the. The two witnesses are around, like, it begs a question, is this like Moses this and Elijah just going like. And they're back on earth and they're in robes and they're like, oh, damn, I got to learn the English Language and like, how to use this phone. Or is it the spirit of, like, is it. Is it somebody born into this?
David
You hear a lot. You hear a lot of different takes on this. It's Israel and the church. Those are the two witnesses. You hear that? You hear like, no, it's the spirit of Elijah. Yeah, like you're saying the spirit of Elijah on people. It's Elijah and Moses. It's Elijah and Enoch. They were the two that didn't see death. Death. Which shout out Sean Kingdom in context is. No, no, Elijah ended up dying later. We just don't have the story of, you know. Yeah, yeah, when he died in the Bible. But who know? I don't know. I don't know. But I know that that story is gonna happen. The two witnesses are gonna do their thing. I. It seems to be two people. It seems to be two distinct people.
Matt
So if they're. Let's say that they are like two people, like, kind of born and. And they're told by God.
David
Could be because. Because Jesus spoke of John the Baptist and said Elijah has come already and they KN of John the Baptist. So. Yeah, could. Could Elijah come again? It's not Elijah, but it's like the same way that John the Baptist came and Jesus said, yeah, Elijah came. Yeah, they killed him. Speaking of John the Baptist, could it be two people that are born that
Matt
think about that in this day and age.
David
I don't know.
Matt
Like, these people, me as a.
David
And I haven't studied it anytime recently to have any competent thing to say about it. So I'm not. I don't know, maybe I could read it.
Matt
And I'm just saying me. Me is who I am now, if that. That garners my attention. And it'll start off probably low level if that is the case where, like, they're coming up, like, just people in our timeline, regular people, not some, you know, miraculous, like, guy from 4, 000 years ago. But I'm going to be seeing them come up through probably the podcast ranks. You're going to be watching them, like, going like, what the hell are these, dude?
David
I don't know, dude. They're going to be otherworldly. That's the thing. These dudes are otherworld worldly. Like, John the Baptist comes on the scene and, like, he's otherworldly, man. Jesus comes on the scene, he's otherworldly. Like, I don't know. It seems like these guys are just like, they're like, they're otherworldly is what it appears like. Any other prophets how do people know about them?
Matt
Like, how does. How do they gain worldwide recognition?
David
To the point Ravenhill used to say, any. Anywhere there's a fire. You don't. You don't need to advertise a fire.
Matt
True.
David
Remember Stephen said the whole. The house was on fire and everybody on the street came out, like, came and checked the house. Like, you never need to advertise a fire. If a dude's doing real stuff, I don't care if he's got a podcast or not.
Matt
All right, so forget about the podcast. Either way, these guys are going what we call viral. Like, they're going to be. Someone is going to probably record it
David
because people are going to see that.
Matt
Okay? So whether they're podcasts, whatever, whatever you want to call it, they're going to be in my realm and I'm going to see them and I'm going to go, I don't know, dude. I don't know. Because a lot of people, they start
David
doing those miracles that are laid out, you're not going to be saying, I don't know. I still want to say, wait, I know this story.
Matt
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
David
You're gonna be a little skeptical. I respect that.
Matt
Very skeptical.
David
I respect that.
Host
Yeah.
Matt
I mean, if you were Satan, wouldn't you do that?
David
Yeah, you're gonna, you're gonna say, oh, they're just doing this with like, weather manipulation. They have machines for that. They're just.
Matt
Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be. I mean, it's gonna get weird, dude.
David
It is. And there's passages that even say that, like, the deception is going to run so hot that even the elect could get. Get deceived unless God stopped the time
Matt
and the elect right now too. Like, anything that is even, even like what we do sort of like outside of the box, they're like, a lot of people are like, get away from me.
David
Yeah.
Matt
I was like, okay, these guys are going to be coming in the name of God saying that they are the prophets that you read about in the Bible. And a lot of people are. I'm not going to really like that because it's going to be suspicious to me, you know, so that what. It's just a crazy thing about God working back then in. That's probably the next iterance of something, like, really big that we're gonna see. And who knows how those people will find out. How do you find, like, you find out later on in your life that it's like, yeah, you're. You're actually. Those guys get ready to do It.
David
Who knows?
Matt
Who knows?
David
Dude, don't open it too far. Thanks, buddy.
Matt
All right, we got. We have.
David
I don't think. I don't know if a third Temple will be built or not. I just don't think it's relevant. Relevant? If it. If it is great. If it's matters. Psalm 40.
Matt
Psalm 40. Oh, yeah.
David
Who knows? Maybe they build it for whatever reason we discussed this, but I don't think it's relevant.
Matt
Yeah, we discussed this. I mean, I think they will build it because it's, like, part of the deception, but who knows if it's. If it matters? All right, last question. Jack Bonson. I think this is the guy that was asking to get to his question. John 14:12. Pull that up.
David
John 14:12.
Matt
Yeah, I'll pull it up on Blue Letter Bible in a second, too. But he said says Gnostics twist this all the time. What's the biblical context of we will do greater works than He?
David
For me, how I read that, I just go to the Book of Acts and I see that, like, Peter's shadow is healing people. They're healing the sick, they're raising the dead, they're casting out demons. And I don't know, they seem to be doing, like, greater stuff than Jesus was doing, man. I think that. I think that. Which is really wild. Which is a really wild statement, but I think that's what he's saying here. Verily, I say in you, he that believes on me, the works I do shall he do. And greater than these shall he do. Because I go into my Father, and whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, So Jesus will do the work through me. So ultimately, he's still doing the work, but he's doing it through me. That's what he says in the next verse. Whatsoever you shall ask my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son, and if you shall ask anything in My name, I will do it. And of course, that doesn't just mean you can pray anything. I Wish I was 13ft tall right now. Like, because some people will just mangle passages and say, oh, yeah, you can do whatever you want, want. Or they'll say, that's the passage that says you can pray for your dead loved ones and get them out of purgatory. Because Jesus said you can pray for anything and he'll do it. Like, you still have to have a brain. Like, you still have to have a brain to understand this. This stuff, right? You can't pray to be 17ft tall. And Jesus goes, well, I'll do it. I said it right there. So yeah, no, I think it is doing the supernatural. That's what I think, man. That's what I. And I think if you go to the Book of Acts, you see that. And that's why I look at the current thing today and say, man, where have we gone wrong? Like what, like what happened happened? Like what happened to where we're at this state today where it doesn't look like this. Does it look like this somewhere? And we have no clue because it's not on the Internet. I don't know, man, I don't know. But I know when I read the Bible I was like, dude, this stuff's happening on planet Earth somewhere.
Matt
Yeah, I mean a lot of the stories that they tell about these missionaries, the things that they're doing in these like remote places, I'm like, that doesn't happen here, you know, could some of it be embellished? Certainly. But some of that is true. I don't know. I guess we're, you know, we're kind of bogged down with other stuff, technology and whatever we're doing on the day to day.
David
Well, and there's just not really an example for people to follow either. Like if somebody wants to be like a legit man of God, they go to 501C3 church. That's what they do. And then there's nothing in that model that's going to cause anyone to like live a sold out, sanctified, committed life to God. God. It's just like part of the American culture that you live in. You just go on Sunday. And so that, yeah, I think that's a big part of why you read the older stuff, dude. You read of people who really are consecrated and set apart for God, man, and all their life is just details. They're not really like, it's not like they, their life is their main thing. And then, oh, by the way, they're a Christian. It's like, no, that's their whole life. Like that's what they're doing. They're just grinding on behalf of the kingdom of God and everything else is deep details.
Matt
That's probably why when we're, if, if you know my assumptions correct and Elijah, Moses, that the two prophets that are coming out, they probably won't come out of the church because there is a, there's like a certain level of hardship that those people are going to have to go through to, to Be ready for whatever, whatever they're going to be doing. You know what I mean? And it's again, not to knock on the church, but yeah, it's not gonna, it doesn't come from, from there there. Although I do like the church. I like it, I think it, I think it provides value. But certainly like what you, what you just said there is like those, those type of revolutionary people that are doing the next thing aren't, aren't going to come from there because it's not, it's not the fire that they can develop.
David
No, no. The heart. Like the next move of God's gonna come from like the chat, like from this, these type of people. He's like crazy people. I'm telling you man, the real ass people, that's where the next move of God is going to come from. It's not going to, not going to come from that cold dead system, dude. It can't, it can't come from that cold dead system because if it does, they're going to corral it again. Anytime they're like, say God wants to make a move through that 501C3 system, they're gonna corral it. They're gonna find a way to monetize it. But if it just comes from real ass people that are just going hard after the truth and they're sold out for God and they got nothing to lose, that's a little different. That's a little different.
Matt
Well, ask them if they are those. Are these the people?
David
Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah.

This episode reflects Nephilim Death Squad’s mission: to expose hidden history, confront spiritual deception, and restore a supernatural biblical worldview. The Q&A’s range underscores the fluidity of biblical interpretation, the importance of humility (“I don’t know”), the dangers of spiritual fanaticism and conspiratorial despair, and the beauty (and challenge) of living out faith in an uncertain world.
Final Quote (David, [157:23]):
"The next move of God's gonna come from people like this—from the chat, from these types of people, the crazy ones going hard after the truth... not that cold, dead system."
